Top Benefits of Almond Oil for Hair
1. Promotes Hair Growth
One of the most celebrated benefits of almond oil is its ability to promote hair growth. The high content of magnesium and biotin in almond oil stimulates hair follicles, encouraging faster and healthier hair growth. Benefits of Almond Oil for Hair Regular scalp massages with almond oil can improve blood circulation, ensuring that hair follicles receive adequate nutrition.
2. Reduces Hair Fall
Hair fall can be a distressing problem for many. Almond oil helps strengthen the hair shaft, reducing breakage and hair fall. The presence of vitamin E and essential fatty acids in almond oil helps repair damaged hair and reduce split ends.
3. Deep Conditions Hair
Almond oil is an excellent natural conditioner. Its emollient properties help to lock in moisture, making hair smooth, soft, and shiny. Regular use of almond oil can help prevent dry, brittle hair and keep your locks looking lustrous.
4. Treats Dandruff and Scalp Conditions
Almond oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties that help combat dandruff and other scalp conditions. Benefits of Almond Oil for Hair Massaging the scalp with almond oil helps to loosen dead skin cells and reduce flakiness, providing relief from itching and irritation.
5. Protects Against Environmental Damage
Environmental factors such as pollution, UV rays, and harsh weather can damage hair. Almond oil forms a protective barrier on the hair, shielding it from environmental stressors. Its antioxidant properties help neutralize free radicals, preventing hair damage.
6. Enhances Hair Elasticity
Almond oil improves hair elasticity, making it less prone to breakage. The fatty acids in the oil penetrate deep into the hair shaft, nourishing and strengthening it from within. This results in more resilient hair that can withstand styling and environmental stress.
7. Adds Shine and Luster
Regular application of almond oil adds a natural shine and luster to the hair. Its moisturizing properties help smooth the hair cuticle, reflecting light and giving your hair a healthy glow.

Boost hair growth naturally
THE BIOCHEMICAL POWER OF TEAS AND NUTRIENT-RICH FOODS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Herbal teas and their role in hair growth
🌸Green Tea
Active Components
the powerhouse in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a potent antioxidant
Biochemical Mechanism
EGCG helps in blocking the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Elevated DHT levels are linked to hair loss, particularly androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern baldness). By reducing DHT production, green tea helps in preventing hair follicle shrinkage and hair thinning. Additionally, the polyphenols in green tea enhance blood circulation to the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive the necessary nutrients and oxygen to thrive.
Usage
Drink 2-3 cups of green tea daily to reap its hair-boosting benefits. It can also be used as a rinse post-shampooing to stimulate the scalp directly.
🌸Nettle Tea
Active Components
Nettle is rich in iron, silica, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, D, and K.
Biochemical Mechanism
Nettle tea works as a natural DHT blocker, similar to green tea. Its high iron content supports hemoglobin production, enhancing oxygen delivery to the scalp and hair follicles. This is crucial because a well-oxygenated scalp provides an optimal environment for hair growth. The silica and sulfur in nettle also strengthen hair strands, improving hair’s structural integrity and reducing breakage.
Usage
Regular consumption of nettle tea (1-2 cups daily) can provide these essential nutrients. Additionally, a cooled nettle infusion can be used as a hair rinse to further strengthen hair shafts.
🌸Rosemary Tea
Active Components
Rosemary contains ursolic acid and caffeic acid.
Biochemical Mechanism
Ursolic acid found in rosemary improves scalp circulation, similar to EGCG in green tea. This ensures that hair follicles are well-nourished, promoting robust hair growth. Rosemary also has anti-inflammatory properties, which help in maintaining a healthy scalp environment by reducing potential scalp conditions like dandruff, which can hinder hair growth.
Usage
Drinking 1-2 cups of rosemary tea daily or using it as a hair rinse can provide these benefits. Infusing rosemary oil into your tea can further amplify its effects due to the added antioxidants.
Nutrient-dense foods for hair growth
🌸Biotin-rich foods
Key Foods
Eggs, almonds, sweet potatoes, spinach, and seeds.
Biochemical Mechanism
Biotin (Vitamin B7) is crucial for the production of keratin, the structural protein that makes up your hair. It acts as a coenzyme in fatty acid synthesis, which is essential for the growth and repair of cells, including hair cells. A deficiency in biotin can lead to hair thinning and brittleness.
Incorporation
Incorporate biotin-rich foods into your diet regularly. For example, adding a boiled egg to your breakfast or including sweet potato as a side dish can help maintain adequate biotin levels.
🌸Iron-rich foods
Key Foods
Lentils, red meat, spinach, and fortified cereals.
Biochemical Mechanism
Iron is essential for producing hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to tissues, including the scalp. Oxygenated blood nourishes hair follicles, facilitating the growth of strong, healthy hair. Iron deficiency is one of the most common causes of hair loss, particularly in women.
Incorporation
Combine iron-rich foods with vitamin C-rich foods like oranges or bell peppers to enhance absorption. For example, a spinach salad with orange slices can optimize iron intake and support hair growth.
🌸Omega-3 fatty acids
Key Foods
Fatty fish (salmon, mackerel), flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts.
Biochemical Mechanism
Omega-3 fatty acids are integral to maintaining the lipid barrier of the scalp, which helps retain moisture and protect hair from drying out and breaking. They also reduce inflammation, which can sometimes hinder hair growth by causing scalp conditions like psoriasis or dandruff. Omega-3s contribute to the overall health of cell membranes in the scalp, making them more resilient.
Incorporation
Aim to consume fatty fish at least twice a week or add flaxseeds to your smoothies or cereals. Walnuts can also be a great snack option to keep your omega-3 levels adequate.
🌸Zinc-rich foods
Key Foods
Oysters, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, and cashews.
Biochemical Mechanism
Zinc plays a key role in DNA and RNA production, which is essential for the division of hair follicle cells. It also helps regulate the production of androgens, a hormone linked to hair loss when imbalanced. Moreover, zinc helps in repairing hair tissue and maintaining oil glands around hair follicles, which are crucial for healthy hair growth.
Incorporation
Include zinc-rich foods in your diet, like a handful of pumpkin seeds as a snack or adding chickpeas to salads and stews.
🌸Vitamin E-rich foods
Key Foods
Sunflower seeds, almonds, spinach, and avocados.
Biochemical Mechanism
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps repair damaged hair follicles, which can be a barrier to hair growth. It also improves blood circulation to the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles are nourished. Vitamin E helps balance oil production in the scalp, preventing dryness or excess oil, both of which can impede hair growth.
Incorporation
Sprinkle sunflower seeds on your yogurt or salads, or incorporate avocados into your meals for a healthy dose of vitamin E.

What Is It Like in a *Posh* Moroccan Hammam? 🫧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I say "posh," I mean upmarket hammams in a wealthy residential areas, not hammams in hotels. This post is about authentic hammams used by wealthy Moroccans, not ones aimed at tourists.
Decor
One of the first things you'll notice in upmarket hammams is that the decor is far more elaborate than in basic hammams. Decor will of course vary from place to place, but to use the example of the hammam next to my great-aunt's place in Casablanca I always make sure to go to:
The walls in both the main washroom and the sauna room are made out of blue and white marble in a traditional zellige pattern. There are also ornate sinks jutting out of the walls also of blue and white marble, whereas in basic hammams there will just be faucets. The sauna has long benches made of marble across the length of each side of the room, and the massage tables are slabs of heated light grey marble.
Regardless of the individual decor choices of each hammam, each building will always be spacious, with high ceilings and curved arches.
Ambience
Upmarket hammams feel luxurious, but understated, focusing on relaxation and subtle elegance rather than opulence and "wowing" people.
The lighting will normally be natural, but if artificial lighting is used it will be subtle and non-intrusive. Whereas in basic hammams it will be bright and practical, and in tourist hammams it will be dim with lighting coming from lanterns and candles (ambient, but not practical for visibility).
Although some may have private areas, authentic hammams in wealthy areas will generally follow the tradition of communal bathing.
As they are located in residential areas rather than tourist hotspots, and as they are a lot larger than basic hammams, they don't feel overcrowded and the experience is more intimate.
Services Offered
Upmarket hammams offer more services than basic hammams, but unlike tourist hammams, all the services are based in authentic Moroccan traditions, whereas in hotels the hammams offer a blend of the basic Moroccan services (sauna, sabon beldi, etc) and services similar to what you'd find in Western spas.
Authentic services you will find in upmarket Moroccan hammams include:
The usual sauna, cleansing with sabon beldi, deep exfoliation and ghassoul clay masks you'll find in every hammam in the country
Massages with argan oil, ghassoul clay, jasmine oil, amber oil, olive oil, honey, or herbal compresses
Herbal steam baths with tabrima, eucalyptus, lavender or mint
Rosewater and orange blossom water rinses
Henna treatments (it's not just used for temporary tattoos but has benefits for the skin and hair)
Facials with products like argan oil, sweet almond oil, honey, and saffron
Foot baths with herbs, oils, and/or milk
(Services will depend on each individual hammam)
The treatments are all high quality by staff who really work for their money. The attendants will scrub off absolutely every bit of dead skin on your body, and I have honestly never been as thoroughly massaged as I have been in these hammams.
Relaxation Lounge
In basic hammams, you just put your clothes on and leave after adjusting to room temperature, but in upmarket ones, you relax in the hammam after towelling off.
After you're dressed, the staff will lead you to another room. To use the hammam local to my great aunt as an example again, the relaxation lounge in this one:
Is full of white chaise longues, one facing another so that you can chat with your companion. They each have a low table in between them, on which a staff member will put down a silver tray, which will have a lit candle which will also have ghassoul clay integrated into it. There will also be glycerin preserved rose petals scattered on the tray, and of course refreshments - a bottle of cold water (much needed after all the heat and steam) and refreshing peppermint tea in a floral cup and matching saucer.
In other upmarket hammams they might have leather couches or armchairs instead of chaise loungues, regular candles without the clay, and Moroccan mint tea instead of peppermint herbal tea, but they'll all follow the same format.
Would I Recommend Trying One of These Hammams?
If you want a luxurious but 100% authentic hammam experience, absolutely! Although hotel hammams are surely fun with their swimming pools, etc, if you want to really experience true Moroccan culture and feel classy while you do it, I'd recommend finding one in a middle or upper class residential area.
They're also inexpensive if you're on Western wages - the one I described in the post is €4 for entry and €15 for a massage, and pretty much all similar hammams will be in that general wheelhouse. Whereas I have no doubt that the ones in hotels are way more expensive - the tourist price vs the local price.
Tips For Going to Authentic Hammams
Whereas in hotels the staff will speak multiple languages, in ones the locals use usually they'll know just Darija and French, maybe basic English but there's no guarantee. If you know French it will be fine, but if not get a Moroccan friend to accompany you.
Shave before going. The attendants will only exfoliate you if your skin is hairless, as the kessa glove can more effectively remove dead skin and impurities without hair in the way, and with smooth skin there's no chance of the rough gloves tugging on your hair and causing your skin to become irritated. The subsequent skincare products applied to your body will also be easier to apply evenly and will be better absorbed. If you haven't shaved beforehand they'll just give you a razor.
You can buy toiletries like soaps and towels, but it's also acceptable to bring your own.
Don't be afraid to get naked. Moroccan women strip down to their panties. Nobody will look at you, everyone is concentrating on bathing (wearing your bra or swimsuit is honestly more likely to bring attention to you than going topless as that's how people will know you're a tourist). You'll see many different body types and all ages in the hammam, so don't worry about being judged if you have stretch marks, extra weight, etc
Men and women bathe in separate areas or buildings, so don't worry about the opposite sex seeing you. You might occasionally see a mother taking her young son with her (as in, toddler age), but never older boys and men.
You can talk and laugh, but don't shout or giggle loudly or anything. It's meant to be a relaxing experience for everyone, and as the rooms are so spacious, loud noises will carry across them.
The massages are really thorough, so be prepared. I've been massaged everywhere from the insides of my ears to my privates in these hammams. If you have anywhere you'd rather they don't touch, communicate it with the massage therapist before getting your massage done, as the norm is to massage literally everywhere.

Safe Foods + Diet Foods Masterpost
(I live in the Midwest)
This is a list of a bunch of my personal favorite foods and ingredients to utilize when I’m heavily restricting. I usually love making the highest volume possible out of the lowest cals, but I also sometimes eat smaller amounts of higher calorie/denser foods if I’m, say, wearing something tight or whatever and don’t want to be water bloated. I believe in the importance of being at least mildly sated, and also in the importance of multivitamins+supplements! If you’re restricting, there is a 100% guarantee you are not getting enough vitamins to maintain external functions you really don’t want to start failing on you. I lost a lot of hair when I dropped a fuck ton of weight for the first time because I was 14 at my worst and didn’t understand anything/didn’t care at all about body chemistry, but after I was forced to recover, after my hair began growing back and thickening up, it became very important to me—as did many other aspects of my body that are influenced+enhanced by the ingestion of vitamin supplement (also hair oils like rosemary and castor and almond, leave-in conditioners, good conditioner in general // all of these things will support hair health and maintenance, specifically!) So take your vitamins! Especially capsules, because gummy vitamins are easier for your body to flush out. Plus, a lot of them are just placebos dyed a fun color and rolled in sugar. (The “Now” brand offers very high quality supplements and multivitamins in capsules/pill form)
Also, now that I’m an adult and can buy my own groceries, I have much more access to helpful tools that I wouldn’t have been able to access at 14 or wouldn’t have known enough about to even bother figuring out more. I’m much more educated now and feel almost as if restricting is too easy, too fun. Will it become a problem? Maybe. But until then, and as long as I know we’re all bent on our own destruction anyway, I’ll share what I know, because I wish I would have known about some of these things the first time I decided to dive headlong into the pits of despair (‘:
I can share my favorite combos/meals in another post if anyone would like to see it! First, though, a few general rules I follow, as a sort of context to the masterpost:
1. Caloric intake matters first and foremost. It’s just the simplest way for me to track what I’m eating. (Now don’t do this, but) You could be eating the shittiest, sugariest, most processed diet on the planet but if you’re in a caloric deficit, you’re still going to lose weight.
2. All vegetables are safe. A vegetable is not out here making anyone fat or unhealthy. Certain vegetables, like potatoes, are denser in calories, so it’s just a matter of learning how to use them, but if that scares or triggers you, stay away! For me, I always try to maintain that plants are nothing to be afraid of. I’m neurotic enough without being afraid of the food that literally comes from the earth.
3. All fruits are safe. Moderation is more important to keep in mind when it comes to fruits versus vegetables, because fruit contains more sugar, which means more calories overall. But fruits are my favorite additions to breakfasts, or as sides/snacks later on in the day. It’s a little extra something to crunch/chew on, and all fruit is just so yummy.
4. There’s nothing wrong with a chocolate fix!!! Dark chocolate (the higher the percentage, the better!) has numerous health benefits because it contains a plethora of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It can be high calorie, so enjoy it in moderation, but there is absolutely nothing I love more than taking my time on a lux little square of dark chocolate while I’m reading a book.
5. No eating after 10pm. (I know most people choose an earlier time, but I’m a college student in a stem field who walks from her apartment to campus, so I get home later than traditional dinner time most nights.)
6. No eating before 7am. (8am is preferable.)
7. Eliminate as many sugary, processed carbs as possible. They aren’t really satisfying your body, and consuming these kinds of foods while restricting often leads to uncontrollable bingeing.
8. Eliminate fried foods (unless you figure out an air frier for a cheat night or something).
9. If you’re going to focus on any macros/micros, focus on protein and fiber! Protein is greater sustenance; fiber makes you shit.
10. If you binge, you binge. It happens. It comes with the territory of ED’s. Your body is literally pre-programmed to react this way to starvation because it’s a self-defense mechanism, and for many people, it’s an emotional defense mechanism. Just make your best mental and physical effort to minimize damage. Screwing yourself into the ceiling and just eating more will make you feel cosmically worse. Try to catch yourself before saying “fuck it” and continuing to binge harder, because even you know you don’t really mean that, and you know you’ll hate yourself to the moon for it later. Take a deep breath, name a few of the five senses to ground yourself or whatever, and then walk away. Listen to some music. Chew some gum or start sipping on lemon water. And remember: one pound is 3,500 calories. You would have had to eat that much on top of your basal metabolic rate (how many calories your body burns just existing) to gain just one pound. Water retention can be flushed. Fat cannot be.
11. Drink at least two quarts of water a day.
12. Take your fucking vitamins. xoxo

What kinda bedtime routine does little charlie have? Do they read her bedtime stories?
A lot goes into Little!Charlie's bedtime routine! It's a long routine that she loves every minute of, and Vaggie also really benefits from that kinda structure when caring for her.
Vaggie and Lucifer can both do it independently; this is especially helpful if Vaggie's regressed too, really exhausted from the day, or if Lucifer is just completely unavailable one evening. If all is fine and dandy tho, they'll tag team throughout (which is ALSO helpful cuz Charlie is SUCH a busy toddler even at night!)
It always, always starts with either a bath or shower. Daddy can help Charlie in the bath; he loves making her ~special~ spa baths with bath bombs, lights, toys, music, and essential oils. He especially helps her with her hair, and is very skilled at keeping the shampoo out of her eyes. Vaggie will usually give Charlie a shower, and hop in there with her to save time/really help Charlie get clean. Charlie likes sitting on the floor of the shower while Vaggie bathes her, but she needs some water toys to play with or else she'll try to leave. Her favorite scents in the bath or shower are always Apple Cinnamon, Chai, almond, and oatmeal.
Next she gets lead out of the tub/shower in her yellow ducky towel. Someone will brush-brush-brush her long hair until there are no more tangles. Vaggie wishes Charlie would let her braid it at night to keep it tidy, but oh well.
Next is jammies + pull-up. If Charlie is going to sleep regressed, there's a 70% chance she'll wet the bed in her sleep, so Vaggie is very strict about staying padded. Charlie absolutely HATES this part, and occasionally has evening tantrums over it. That's why it can be really good to have Lucifer there as back up; he can calm her down and distract her so Vaggie can slide the pull-up in place. And if Vaggie can get her pajama pants on fast, Charlie often forgets about the pull-up and calms down.
She has lots of matching set style pajamas, mostly in red, white, or black. They all have little details fit for a princess, like cute embroidery or gold-foil prints.
Lastly, Charlie and Vaggie get snuggled into bed. Lucifer stays there to get Charlie a sippy cup full of ice water, turn off the lights, and read a story for them. After one or two stories, he'll play some gentle ambient sounds like beach waves or a piano. He only leaves once he knows both girls are asleep; Charlie because she will absolutely start crying if she sees Daddy leaving, and Vaggie because she is likely to have regressed just a little bit during story time, and he doesn't want his baby to get used to seeing caregivers walk away like that. Once both girls are out, he'll turn on a baby monitor, slip out the door, and get ready for bed in his own hotel room.

Skincare tips
(... from a girl with incredibly sensitive skin)
Witchhazel extract kills bacteria and is a great toner to use before applying anything else on the skin
Honey and aloe vera gel can help heal scars
If you're prone to acne and scar deeply (like me) get an acne cream with benzoyl peroxide in it; it works like a charm and has not caused my skin any irritation
Jojoba oil has amazing benefits and is a fantastic moisturiser; your skin will feel like butter, it's amazing
Applying beef tallow regularly is the best thing I have ever done for my skin; it helps with acne, my skin is softer and glowier, and it is the only thing to have ever gotten my eczema under control
I combine my beef tallow with honey and olive oil but that is a combination that works for my skin in particular so do some research regarding what could benefit your skin to combine with the tallow if you want to
Beef tallow also helps soothe sunburns. Coconut oil makes sunburns worse.
Eating avocado makes eczema worse (especially if you have type O blood)
If you use products with natural oil bases (jojoba oil, for example) but your skin gets irritated, it's probably the essential oils irritating you. Try the natural carrier oil by itself.
You can make your own salt scrub with rock salt, a little fine table salt, olive oil and jojoba oil. Add essential oils if you want. Store in an air tight container.
BONUS: Rub and massage almond oil and jojoba oil into your scalp and hair to stimulate thicker hair growth, softer and more moisturised hair, and to prevent breakage. It leaves your hair pretty oily though, so I leave in it for a few hours on hair wash days.

THE SIGHT UNSEEN - Chapter 23: "Worrying Gives You Wrinkles"
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Yamato Rei pays the bills by telling fake fortunes to unwitting suckers... or so she thinks. Turns out half her customers are demons and her lying ass has been predicting the future with uncanny accuracy for years. On account of her growing reputation, Rei just landed on the radar of the same demon who murdered her aunt, and her only hope of survival is a mirror haunted by the ghost of an ancient warrior queen, her burgeoning psychic powers, and a certain Spirit Detective and his friends. Specifically the pretty one with red hair who seems to see right through her... Kurama is as mysterious as he is beautiful, and when Rei must stay at Genkai’s temple for protection on the eve of Yusuke and Keiko’s wedding, she finds herself growing closer and closer to the one man who’s sworn to keep everyone at arm’s length. But both Kurama and Rei hide behind high walls of their own creation, and it’ll take more than their eventual friends-with-benefits arrangement to see those walls come crumbling down — provided the demons hunting Rei don’t tear her limb from limb, first.

CHAPTER 23: "Worrying Gives You Wrinkles" - Excerpt
Kurama had interrupted Rei in the midst of her nighttime routine. She wore a silk robe and a cloth wrap around her head, feet bare until she donned a pair of indoor slippers. He stood uncertainly just inside the door as she passed him and stepped into the hall.
“Forgot something in the bathroom,” she murmured. “Be right back.”
“All right,” Kurama said.
And so he waited for her, alone, in the Japanese-style room. It bore no decoration (few of the sleeping rooms in Genkai’s shrine did), but Rei had nevertheless made her mark on the space, as she made her mark on every room she entered. Wigs sat on foam heads in the corner; a futon rested on the floor; a suitcase with clothes sat neatly folded; a dress bag draped lazily over a chair; an old vanity with mirror and bench Genkai must had pulled from some dusty storage shed sat silent against the wall. The vanity table bore an array of bottles and cosmetics sparkling in the light of a small lamp, glow warm and imitate in the quiet room.
Kurama wandered to the vanity. Fingertips skimmed a jar of cream, a tube of lipstick, and a bottle of dark green glass. The last was a facial oil made with rare plants, or so the label claimed. Kurama’s nose told him it was telling the truth. When he lifted the stopper and breathed deep, he inhaled a concentrated breath of the botanicals he’d been smelling all night. His pulse quickened. Sandalwood and ylang-ylang, camellia and sweet almonds, herbs and oils, spicy and sweet — like her. Like Rei. Soft and natural, complex and…
The door creaked open. He set the bottle down and turned away, watching from the corner of his eye as Rei slipped out of her shoes and went to the vanity. Like a pair of dancers they circled one another until she sat down on the bench.
Their eyes met in the mirror. She smiled. Kurama swallowed, gaze darting to her hands as they glided over her cosmetics. One of her acrylic nails tipped a bottle, musical chime bright in the stillness.
“Give me a minute, would you?” she said.
The request implied she was leaving him waiting for something as she completed her skincare routine. Even through the warm haze in his head, Kurama could guess her implication. She had welcomed him into her room easily enough. That meant she was receptive to him, didn’t it? That meant she wanted this too, didn’t she?
Did he, for that matter?
His body felt warmer than usual, a sweet ache gathering in his chest, a breath held and not released, savored inside instead. Kurama watched Rei in silence, noting her elegant hands and long throat. She smoothed oil over her skin, soaking it in the scent of rare plants. He wondered what that oil might taste like — what her skin would taste like once he laved away the oil with his tongue. How she’d feel warm beneath his lips as he kissed her throat, trailing his mouth along —
“Seeing them together got into your head, I suspect,” said Rei.
Kurama came back to himself with a jolt. Rei regarded him frankly in the mirror as she worked lotion into her soft hands. It smelled nutty and sweet — pistachio, perhaps. Unexpected. Delicious.
“Yusuke and Keiko, I mean,” she was saying. “I’m right, aren’t I?”
Kurama swallowed thickly. “How did you know?”
“Because they got into mine.” Her lips curled into a small, sly smile. “Hence why you’re not still standing in the hallway where I found you.”
Kurama’s breathing hitched. Rei went back to her routine, her acrylic nails tapping musically against crystal and glass. It was an admission, he realized — an admission that she wanted the same thing he did. He relaxed, unexpected tension draining from his shoulders. They were on the same page. They wanted the same thing. That certainly made it less awkward…but wait. Why would it be awkward if they weren’t? How could they possibly be on different pages of this book? Kurama wasn’t sure. His head was pleasantly foggy, chest sweetly aching. There was nothing awkward here. Only calm, peaceful, languid acceptance and —
Rei’s robe parted over her chest, exposing the length of her golden collarbone. A spike of heat lanced through Kurama’s groin. He’d seen her out of her wig before, but she’d kept the details of her routine locked in the hotel bathroom. Watching her fuss over her skin, clad in just a robe…should he be here, witnessing such an intimate routine? Watching her certainly was pleasurable. The dart of her delicate hands, the curve of her throat, the swatch of chest peeking from the gap in her robe…he couldn’t think of anyone else he’d wish to see in this context. The other women at the temple weren’t anything like Rei. Botan was not his type, to put it mildly. Keiko had Yusuke. Genkai was too — well, Genkai. And the men, they were nonstarters. Shishiwakmaru too vain, Chu too drunk, the others in relationships he did not wish to interrupt. That simply left Rei.
Was he only here with her due to process of elimination, in that case?
Rei’s sleeve slipped down her arm to pool in her elbow, exposed wrist smooth and supple in the room’s dim light. His groin tightened further at the sight. No. Her mere wrist lit a fire in him. He’d be here if he had a hundred other options — and the realization was jarring, slicing through the haze in his head like lightning through the summer sky.
But it was true. Even comparing her to the club they’d visited the night before, even taking into account the gorgeous dancers at the burlesque show, Rei had shined the brightest of them all. He remembered well standing on the edge of the dance floor with a drink, watching her weave through the crowd. She’d danced alone, but she didn’t look lonely. Her smile had lit her face from within, and when their eyes met through the throng of dancers, she’d smiled. She’d come to him and dragged him onto the floor with a laugh, soft voice rising even over the crowd.
“Let loose, Red. Live a little,” she’d told him. “I promise it won’t hurt.”
Prescient words. But she was wrong. It could hurt. This could hurt him, her, both of them —
Wait.
What was he thinking about?
Rei was watching him in the mirror. Dark eyes gleamed like liquid onyx beneath a thick fringe of lash. She hadn’t removed her brows or lashes yet, but all of her other makeup had disappeared. Luminous skin alone, soft and smooth and glowing, remained behind.
“We should talk about this,” Rei said, “before…”
Kurama sat beside her on the bench before the vanity, but in reverse, his back to the mirror and the sight of his own reflection. He was hyperaware of the way legs their lay along each other’s, his hip by her knee and vice versa, the heat of her thigh soaking through her thin robe and into his warm skin. Her breathing hitched when he drew close. Palpable tension, sweet anticipation — they invaded his senses alongside the taste of jasmine, fogging everything, his groin tight, chest so sweetly aching. Rei watched him closely. He watched her right back. For what felt like an age, they beheld one another in silence.
Then Kurama touched her. He traced the tips of his fingers down her arm, over her wrist, across her own fingertips. Then back up to her neck, her collarbone — slowly peeling back the edge of her robe, exposing centimeters more of that smooth, clean skin.
“Talk to me,” Rei whispered.
“I don’t want to talk,” Kurama said.

The only everything shower routine you’ll ever need ౨ৎ
Pre shower
Hair -
Scalp oiling: use a store bought scalp oil or make your own. Cover hair with cling film to stop dust and dirt while it stays in your hair for 2-4 hours.
Rosemary water: boil rosemary in water for 20 minutes and allow to cool before straining into a spray bottle.
Scalp massage: massage scalp for at least 20 minutes once scalp oil is applied, increases blood circulation which helps hair growth.
Face -w
Flaxseed mask: mix 1/2 flaxseeds with 3 cups water, bring to a boil until thick while continuously stirring then put into a container to cool. Apply to face once cool and leave until dried, around an hour.
Shape eyebrows: pluck eyebrows, if wanted use dye to define them further.
Hands and feet-
Foot spa: if you don’t have a foot spa fill a bowl with hot water, add bath salts and essential oil for scent and extra benefits
Remove any nail polish
Shape and file nails
Scrub feet: use pumice stone or another tool, then afterwards a body/foot scrub.
Body -
Dry brush: start from the bottom of your body and work you way up. Promotes blood circulation and exfoliates giving you smooth skin.
During shower
Hair -
Double shampoo: double shampoo when scalp oiling to properly cleanse scalp of oil.
Hair mask: while the hair mask sits in your hair for 10+ minutes it’s a good time to gua sha your face.
Conditioner
Face -
Gua sha: open lymph nodes, go through a gua shaing routine, then drain lymph nodes. There are lots of tutorials online to follow. I gua sha in the shower with a face wash and water. Never gua sha on dry skin it damages your skin barrier and causes premature aging, if you skin starts to feel like it’s pulling add more moisture.
Face wash
Body -
Exfoliate: use a glove, net or other exfoliating tool to exfoliate body.
Body scrub
Body wash
Shave (if wanted): use a sharp razor, blunt razors can cause razor bumps. Shave with a cream or wash, never on skin alone.
After shower
Face -
Face mask
Skincare: if you have products that you only use every so often this is a good time to use them as an extra treat.
Eye mask
Lip scrub: make your own with sugar, honey and coconut oil or use a store bought one.
Lip balm/moisturiser
Eyelash and eyebrow oil/serum: castor oil works great for me.
Body -
Body oil: apply a scented body oil straight out of shower while skin is still damp.
Moisturize: moisturise entire body.
Hair -
Leave in conditioner: depending on hair type the amount will vary, if you have straighter hair add very little and only to the ends to prevent greasiness.
Hair oil: once hair is completely dry warm a tiny amount of hair oil in your palms (hair oil is not the same as scalp oil!) rub into the very ends of your hair to help with split ends, shine and dryness
Hands and feet -
Paint nails
Cuticle oil: apply either bought cuticle oil or another skin oil such as almond oil or coconut oil to cuticles of hands and feet after nail polish is dry.
Moisturize: moisture both hands and feet, add vaseline to feet on top and put on socks to help absorption
Extras
Layer scents: mix and match the scents body washes, scrubs, hair products and moisturisers to create your personal scent. For example fruity, warm and spicy, vanilla, etc.
Pick products for your concerns: curate your products to your skin and hair concerns. Use a more moisturising lotion is your skin is dry, use a repairing shampoo if your hair is damaged, etc.
The best time to do an everything shower is on reset days, although it’s a great way to end and start the week these don’t have to be on Sundays. Of course everything showers can be done whenever you feel like relaxing and giving yourself some love.

How to Grow Your Nail Fast
Tumblr media
Introduction
Understanding Nail Growth
Nail growth might seem like a simple biological process, but it's influenced by various factors. Learning how to support and accelerate nail growth requires understanding the fundamentals of nail health and the mechanisms behind their growth.
Proper Nail Care
Maintain Hydration
Proper hydration isn't just beneficial for your skin; it's crucial for nail health too. Dehydrated nails are prone to brittleness and breakage, hindering growth. Ensure you're drinking enough water throughout the day to keep your nails hydrated from within.
Balanced Diet
Nails, like any other part of your body, require essential nutrients to grow strong and healthy. Incorporate a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Foods like leafy greens, eggs, nuts, and fish can provide the necessary nutrients for optimal nail growth.
Tumblr media
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Exposure to harsh chemicals, such as those found in detergents and cleaning agents, can weaken nails and slow down growth. Wear gloves when handling such substances to protect your nails from damage.
Protective Measures
Keep Nails Trimmed
Contrary to popular belief, keeping your nails trimmed actually promotes faster growth. Regular trimming prevents split ends and breakage, allowing your nails to grow longer without the risk of damage.
Wear Gloves
Whether you're doing household chores or working outdoors, wearing gloves can shield your nails from potential harm. They act as a barrier against chemicals, harsh weather conditions, and physical trauma, safeguarding your nails and promoting healthy growth.
Nutritional Supplements
Biotin
Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is renowned for its role in promoting healthy hair and nails. Consider taking biotin supplements or incorporating biotin-rich foods like eggs, almonds, and avocados into your diet to support nail growth.
Tumblr media
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that aids in repairing damaged cells, including those in your nails. It promotes circulation to the nail bed, which can stimulate growth. You can find vitamin E in foods like spinach, broccoli, and almonds or opt for supplements.
Moisturizing Treatments
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is a natural moisturizer that can penetrate deep into the nail bed, nourishing and strengthening the nails from within. Massage a few drops of jojoba oil onto your nails and cuticles daily to keep them hydrated and promote faster growth.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is rich in vitamins A and E, as well as fatty acids, making it an excellent moisturizer for nails and cuticles. Apply shea butter directly to your nails before bedtime and let it absorb overnight for maximum hydration and growth benefits.
Avoiding Nail Damage
Limiting Exposure to Water
Excessive exposure to water, especially hot water, can weaken nails and make them more prone to breakage. Wear gloves while washing dishes or cleaning, and try to minimize the time your nails spend submerged in water to maintain their strength and integrity.
Tumblr media
Gentle Nail Care Practices
Avoid using your nails as tools for tasks like opening cans or scraping off stickers, as this can cause damage and hinder growth. Instead, use proper tools and techniques to protect your nails from unnecessary stress and trauma.
you can also try this product ProNail Complex
Massage Techniques
Stimulating Blood Flow
Massaging your nails and cuticles can improve blood circulation to the nail bed, delivering essential nutrients and oxygen for faster growth. Use gentle, circular motions to massage a nourishing oil or cream into your nails daily for optimal results.
Promoting Nail Growth
In addition to enhancing blood flow, nail massage can also stimulate the production of keratin, the protein responsible for nail growth. Incorporate massage into your daily nail care routine to encourage stronger, longer nails.
Herbal Remedies
Horsetail Extract
Horsetail extract is rich in silica, a mineral essential for collagen formation and nail strength. Taking horsetail supplements or using products containing horsetail extract can fortify your nails and promote faster growth.
Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel is well-known for its soothing and healing properties, making it ideal for treating brittle nails and stimulating growth. Apply fresh aloe vera gel to your nails and cuticles regularly to nourish and strengthen them from the inside out.
Patience and Consistency
Setting Realistic Expectations
While implementing these tips can accelerate nail growth, it's important to remember that nails grow slowly, typically around 1-3 millimeters per month. Be patient and consistent with your nail care routine, and you'll gradually see improvements in the health and length of your nails.
you can also try this product ProNail Complex
Establishing a Routine
Consistency is key when it comes to promoting nail growth. Establish a daily or weekly nail care routine that includes moisturizing, trimming, and protective measures to ensure optimal nail health and growth over time.
Tumblr media
Professional Help
Consulting a Dermatologist
If you're experiencing persistent nail problems or slow growth despite following a healthy nail care routine, consider consulting a dermatologist. They can identify underlying issues and recommend specialized treatments or medications to address your specific concerns.
Nail Strengthening Treatments
In some cases, professional nail strengthening treatments may be necessary to promote faster growth and improve the overall health of your nails. These treatments often involve specialized formulas or procedures designed to fortify and protect the nails from damage.
Conclusion
Summary of Tips
Growing your nails faster requires a combination of proper nail care, nutritional support, protective measures, and patience. By maintaining hydration, avoiding damage, incorporating nourishing treatments, and seeking professional guidance when needed, you can achieve stronger, longer nails and flaunt your manicures with confidence. Remember to be consistent and patient in your nail care routine, and you'll soon enjoy the benefits of healthier, more beautiful nails.
