according to most news outlets, trump has won the presidency with 277 electoral votes to harris’ 224. as an autistic/adhd nonbinary afab person in a queer relationship, i am reaching out to everyone who will be affected by this election and reminding all of you that we survived. we survived the first trump election. we survived regan. we survived nixon. and we will survive this.
this will be his final term as president. and whatever happens, we will be there to pick up the pieces. even if we have to rebuild our country brick by stonewall brick, we will.
punk lives with us. the queer community, the disabled community, and america’s women will be okay. we will fight. we will survive. and our children will live.

The urge to just continually say "but why?" and nothing else when someone says that me being aroace is sad is OVERWHELMING.
I want them to get frustrated as they try to answer.

In case the worst happens (Trump winning) is there anything a sex and romance repulsed aroace do while staying in the country without complying to their worst nightmare? (Unable to flee due to my situation) It’s ok if you don’t know this, I’m just really scared.
Honestly as horrible as it might sound, pull the whole “staying “pure” until marriage” card. Use it for everything, go on and on about not being able to find the right guy but never stick to one version of a right guy so they can’t set you up with anyone on a blind date.
If worst comes to worse, becoming a privately practicing nun. Not in a church just like on your own, randomly declare it and stick to it.

Now the US election is over, the question we now have to ask is what can we do now about Trump? What can we do, in our own little worlds, to make the world better despite him? Anything works, and we’ll need them all to get through him.
So if you have some time, volunteer for a local queer organisation or mutual aid group, if you like art make queer positive art of all kinds. Make a queer/trans/similar positivity blog or account like this, if you want. Be the best friend and person you can be, and be there for those who need it, while recognising your own limits. You need to take care of yourself to help others.
Celebrate queer art and content. Write to your representatives, both local, devolved and national. Sign petitions, protest if you’re able, and no matter what… don’t forget that you deserve happiness and to be yourself. You deserve your future. There’s nothing wrong with angst, but now is not the time for despair. Now is the time to think, even if the world is shit… what can I do, in the smallest way to make shit better, and do something out of this despair? There will, somewhere, always be something you can do. Find them, and do it again, and again, for the next 4 years and beyond. That is how we will get through it.

WHERE IS JUSTICE / WHERE IF HUMANITY ????‼️
A Cry for Help: The Reality of Being LGBTIQ in Exile🌈
This video speaks for itself. A young, innocent gay man, beaten brutally by a hostile local community—this is the harsh reality we face as LGBTIQ refugees in East Africa. When I say that we endure persecution, I mean *this*. This is the daily battle we fight for our right to exist, love, and live like any other person.
This young man, just like countless others, deserves to live his life freely, without fear of violence or hatred. Yet, because of who we are, we are treated like outcasts, subjected to brutal attacks, and silenced. The ongoing civil war in South Sudan only makes it worse, leaving us isolated, without protection, and exposed to more violence and hardship.
To the world watching this video, I ask: *Where is our justice?* Why are we forced to live in fear, hiding who we are, and fighting to survive every single day? We are human too, and our lives matter. Please, this is not just a cry for attention but a cry for help, for support, for action.
If you’re reading this, I urge you to *do something*. Share this video, spread our story, and help us find a way to escape this endless persecution. Your support could make the difference between life and death for people like this young man and the rest of us living in exile.
We cannot survive this alone. Please, stand with us.

!!!CALL YOUR LAWMAKERS!!!
Make it clear that KOSA is a controversial bill!!!
Lawmakers don't want to vote for controversial bills before people vote for them again!!!
KOSA would
Eliminate ANY queer content under their "duty of care" clause
Censoring of lifesaving resources
This IS NOT a privacy bill!!! This is a censorship bill!!!
There is hope!!!
Last week, Senators Schumer and Blumenthal took to the Senate floor to talk about their commitment to moving this dangerous bill forward. There are a few Senators keeping the vote from happening right now, but we need to make sure they keep up their opposition to block the vote unless it is fully fixed to stop it from becoming a censorship bill.
On the House side, the House Energy and Commerce Committee could consider the bill as soon as this week. If it gets voted out of this committee, the next stop is a full House vote. We still have the opportunity to win significant changes to get rid of the part of KOSA that would let government officials decide what content they think is “dangerous” for young people. And if we can’t, we need to keep raising opposition to keep KOSA from passing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Script:
When someone answers, say your name, be polite, and then say, “I'm calling to urge you to oppose the Kids Online Safety Act. Because of its duty of care model, this bill would be a threat to free speech online and puts LGBTQ+ kids at further risk by incentivizing social media companies to censor lifesaving resources, in an already scary time for them. If you care about kids' experience online, Congress should pass remove the duty of care from KOSA completely and pass comprehensive privacy legislation that would actually protect kids.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The petition is below! If you can't call, sign!!!
Call Now!!! They will connect you directly to your lawmaker's office!!!

Reminder for all of us in the US right now, there are 3 important things we need to remember.
Survive: your future self is counting on you to get through this and so are we. We need to get though this, and we will but it's better is as many of us as possible get to see the other side.
Seek comfort: in a world where it's so easy to catastrophize and break down, learn to ground yourself wether that be some sort of exercise or even just a comforting object, stay in the moment and remember there are people trying to help. As the great Mr, Rogers once said "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'"
Bear witness: record your experience in any way you know how, wether that be writing or drawing or sculpting or composing or anything else. Show the world that you are here and you're going through these things. Tell your stories, show your struggles and successes. Say "I am here and this is wrong"
But most importantly stay safe though all of this and remember your not alone.

I'm gonna get a little political, which I usually don't get on this account, but it's important.
For anyone who doesn't know, Trump won the 2024 election in America, so I'd like to spread this message as a safety precaution for any minors, and hell, even young adults.
If you have pictures of yourself on an account you are openly LGBTQ on, you may want to delete it. Not the account in general, but the pictures. This does not include Discord, WhatsApp, or anything private, but public posts on apps like amino, tumblr, tiktok, Instagram, etc, to make sure nothing can get traced back to you. PLEASE stay safe during this time. You can be lgbt on your account, but make sure not to use an email with a personal email (actual name) or phone number. Stay safe, everyone.
This is just a note for Americans to stay safe. Although, if any Americans don't want to follow this, that is perfectly okay. This is just my personal message I want to spread.
Live to tell your story, don't die and let the people tell your story wrong.

okay so I didn't hear about the aspec/arospec marriage thing what do you mean by that
They haven’t used the words aroace or forced marriage, but republics are placing the whole “family is a marriage between man and woman with children only nothing else”
This is a good summary

Note
Aroace culture is seeing two of your female classmates kissing each other in public and feeling a little uncomfortable but then immediately worrying about that counting as a homophobic thought (even if you have no problem with same-sex relationships at all and are just generally uncomfortable with seeing anyone of any gender and sexuality kissing in front of you)
