We Need Your Support Now More Than Ever
Hello friends.
We are LGBTIQ refugees from East Africa, and we are facing unimaginable challenges in the refugee camps where we have been displaced. Every day, we struggle to survive in hostile environments filled with homophobia and persecution. Our lives are constantly at risk, and we need your help to make it through these difficult times.
Despite the challenges, we have some good news to share! The first group of LGBTIQ refugees from our community is finally heading to Canada. This is a huge milestone for us, and it wouldn't have been possible without your incredible support. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has stood by us, and we ask that you continue to support us in whatever way you can.
But we still have a long way to go. Many of us remain in these camps, living in fear and uncertainty. We are asking, kindly, for your donations to our fundraiser. Every penny counts—whether it’s for food, medication, or shelter, your contribution helps us survive another day.
Even though it's difficult to keep asking, we can’t stop. Our lives and futures depend on your generosity. Please, if you can, donate to our cause. Together, we can create a safer future for our community.
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s keep moving forward.
With gratitude,
Phill and the LGBTIQ refugee community

Attention friends and allies,We are heartbroken to share the news that a group of LGBTIQ asylum seekers from Kakuma refugee camp have been forced to flee to South Sudan due to the lack of progress on their cases in Kenya. These individuals have been living in fear and uncertainty for far too long, and they have made the difficult decision to seek safety elsewhere.
Their escape highlights the urgent need for funds to transport more LGBTIQ asylum seekers who are still stuck in Kakuma and are also in desperate need of a safe haven. These individuals have faced unimaginable hardships in the camp, including discrimination, violence, and lack of access to basic services.
We cannot stand by and watch as our community members continue to suffer. We must come together to support these individuals and ensure that they have the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a place where they can be free to be themselves.
Please consider donating to help transport more LGBTIQ asylum seekers from Kakuma to South Sudan. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. https://www.faou.us/links/?fbclid=IwAR1kjcI5iicIvOxO53FS-sL1j-3Frdo-4h0p1yvG7GUcwJxG7wEwDce55JA
Thank you for your support and solidarity. Together, we can make a difference. #LGBTIQRefugees #StandWithKakuma

PLEASE DON’T IGNORE OUR CRY FOR HELP
Hi friends,
My name is Ashley , and I’m a queer refugee originally from Uganda, now living in a refugee camp . I know this might seem unexpected, but I felt the need to reach out because we are in a situation of desperate urgency.
I represent a group of fellow LGBTIQ refugees here, and we are facing unimaginable hardships. Many of us are starving, without food, water, or proper medical care. Some are living with HIV/AIDS and have no access to life-saving medications. The situation here is truly dire. On top of that, we live in constant fear of persecution under Sudan’s harsh anti-LGBTIQ laws.
I’m embarrassed to ask for help this way, but we are at a breaking point. We urgently need support just to survive. Any donation—no matter how small—could save lives in our community. If you’re unable to give, please don’t ignore this message. Sharing this post could reach someone who can help.
Please consider supporting us or spreading the word. This is our reality, and your help can be the lifeline we so desperately need.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this. Your compassion means everything in a time like this.
With gratitude,
Ashley.

WHERE IS JUSTICE / WHERE IF HUMANITY ????‼️
A Cry for Help: The Reality of Being LGBTIQ in Exile🌈
This video speaks for itself. A young, innocent gay man, beaten brutally by a hostile local community—this is the harsh reality we face as LGBTIQ refugees in East Africa. When I say that we endure persecution, I mean *this*. This is the daily battle we fight for our right to exist, love, and live like any other person.
This young man, just like countless others, deserves to live his life freely, without fear of violence or hatred. Yet, because of who we are, we are treated like outcasts, subjected to brutal attacks, and silenced. The ongoing civil war in South Sudan only makes it worse, leaving us isolated, without protection, and exposed to more violence and hardship.
To the world watching this video, I ask: *Where is our justice?* Why are we forced to live in fear, hiding who we are, and fighting to survive every single day? We are human too, and our lives matter. Please, this is not just a cry for attention but a cry for help, for support, for action.
If you’re reading this, I urge you to *do something*. Share this video, spread our story, and help us find a way to escape this endless persecution. Your support could make the difference between life and death for people like this young man and the rest of us living in exile.
We cannot survive this alone. Please, stand with us.

Thank you so much @vegetableomelette for the Reblog,, hope more people can see this and try to rescue our lives.
A JOURNEY OF SURVIVAL: MY LIFE AS LGBTIQ REFUGEE IN EAST AFRICA🌈
Hello, my name is AshleymilesPhil, 21years old and I’m a queer refugee originally from Uganda. This is my story, but it’s also the story of hundreds of LGBTIQ refugees who have been persecuted, abandoned, and left fighting for their lives simply because of who we are.
Growing up in Uganda, being queer was not just dangerous—it was life-threatening. Uganda’s laws and society are brutally unforgiving to anyone who dares to live openly as LGBTIQ. In constant fear of violence, I had to flee, leaving behind my home, my life, and everything I knew.
My journey first took me to Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, a place I hoped would offer refuge. But the reality in Kakuma was anything but safe. LGBTIQ refugees there are regularly targeted for physical violence, harassment, and discrimination. We were left vulnerable, isolated, and without support. The camp, rather than being a sanctuary, became a place of daily survival.
Eventually, I found myself in Gorom camp in South Sudan, hoping for something better, but the challenges only deepened. South Sudan’s laws are even more hostile toward the LGBTIQ community. Starvation, lack of medical care, and persecution are daily realities here. Many of us in the camp are living with HIV/AIDS and can’t access proper medication. The physical and emotional toll is overwhelming, but we continue to fight for our right to live, love, and simply exist.
Our lives in these camps are on the line every single day. We are not just struggling with a lack of food, water, and healthcare; we are fighting for our very existence against systems that dehumanize us.
We need help and support .The world needs to know what we are going through. My fellow LGBTIQ refugees and I are in desperate need of support to survive these unimaginable conditions. We are asking for your kindness, your solidarity, and if possible, your support. Even a small contribution can make a difference in our fight for survival.
Consider donating to our Gofundme fundraiser
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us in our time of need. Your compassion can bring hope where it’s needed most.
Your support can save lives, provide food for the starving, and offer crucial medical care for those living with HIV/AIDS. We need the world to stand with us against the persecution and injustice we face every day.

Hello everyone! Just because the first group is going to Canada doesn’t mean it’s the end of supporting them. As groups leave, they need money to prepare for Canadian weather (to buy winter jackets, suitcases, etc), especially with winter approaching! Please share or donate or both.
