Hon. Odoi Speaks Out Against the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇺🇬⬇️
In Uganda, only two brave Members of Parliament stood against the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, and one of them is Hon. Odoi. His courage to speak out in support of the LGBTQ+ community is not only inspiring but a necessary reminder that compassion and logic must prevail in the face of hate and persecution.
In the video I’m sharing, Hon. Odoi highlights the immense potential LGBTQ+ individuals have to contribute to Uganda’s growth. Many are skilled professionals, technical experts, and entrepreneurs who could be valuable taxpayers and positive forces in society. Unfortunately, persecution based on their sexual orientation has forced many of them to flee the country, leaving behind families, opportunities, and dreams.
As someone who has experienced this firsthand, I can attest to the truth of his words. Like many others, I was forced to leave my home due to persecution for simply being myself. I now live in a refugee camp, far from the life I dreamed of, but I continue to fight for the rights of those like me.
This video isn’t just about Hon. Odoi’s words it’s about standing in solidarity with all LGBTQ+ individuals in Uganda and beyond who face violence and discrimination every day. It’s about imagining a world where we’re seen for who we are: human beings with so much to offer.
Please share this video widely. Let’s amplify the voices of those who speak for equality and justice in Uganda and around the world.

It’s Never Too Late to Be Yourself – Or to Be in Love❤ 🏳️‍🌈
As we navigate life, there’s one truth that remains constant: it’s never too late to embrace your authentic self. For members of the LGBTIQ+ community, especially refugees and asylum seekers, this journey can often feel daunting. But our courage to live our truth is what defines us, not the challenges we face.
Many of us have fled persecution, societal rejection, and violence simply for being who we are. Despite these hardships, we continue to rise. We rebuild our lives in new, often unfamiliar places, proving that love and authenticity know no borders.
Being in love—whether with a partner, life, or the possibilities of the future—is an act of bravery. For those in the LGBTIQ+ refugee community, love is a beacon of hope that reminds us of the beauty that still exists despite adversity.
To my fellow LGBTIQ+ individuals, whether you're still searching for safety, love, or your authentic voice: know that you're not alone. Organizations, allies, and sponsors are here to support us on this journey of healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.
Together, we create a world where everyone has the right to *be*, to love, and to dream. Let’s continue to advocate for inclusive policies, safe spaces, and support systems for LGBTIQ+ refugees and asylum seekers worldwide.
It’s never too late to live authentically. It’s never too late to believe in love❤🏳️‍🌈.

Attention friends and allies,We are heartbroken to share the news that a group of LGBTIQ asylum seekers from Kakuma refugee camp have been forced to flee to South Sudan due to the lack of progress on their cases in Kenya. These individuals have been living in fear and uncertainty for far too long, and they have made the difficult decision to seek safety elsewhere.
Their escape highlights the urgent need for funds to transport more LGBTIQ asylum seekers who are still stuck in Kakuma and are also in desperate need of a safe haven. These individuals have faced unimaginable hardships in the camp, including discrimination, violence, and lack of access to basic services.
We cannot stand by and watch as our community members continue to suffer. We must come together to support these individuals and ensure that they have the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a place where they can be free to be themselves.
Please consider donating to help transport more LGBTIQ asylum seekers from Kakuma to South Sudan. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. https://www.faou.us/links/?fbclid=IwAR1kjcI5iicIvOxO53FS-sL1j-3Frdo-4h0p1yvG7GUcwJxG7wEwDce55JA

Update on the Situation of LGBTQ Refugees in the Rainy Season🙏🏳️‍🌈
Hello everyone,
I want to take a moment to give you a quick update on what’s happening with our LGBTQ refugee community. Right now, we’re in the middle of the rainy season, and it’s been raining for almost seven hours each day. These heavy rains are causing devastating floods that not only seep into our temporary homes but often dismantle them entirely.
As you can see from the pictures , the rain gets everywhere soaking every belonging we have and sometimes sweeping them away altogether. The situation is incredibly dire, and with nowhere to turn, it feels like an endless battle just to stay dry and safe.
These conditions have made it even easier for diseases like malaria, cholera, and typhoid to spread. We desperately need stronger, more reliable tents to provide shelter. Each tent can accommodate at least 15 people and costs around $350 to $400.
We are pleading with well-wishers and the global LGBTQ community to stand with us during this incredibly difficult time. Your support could make a world of difference in protecting our lives and giving us the dignity of a safe space to weather this storm.
If you’re able to help, please consider donating through our GofundMe and ko-if or sharing our story to help us reach others who might be in a position to assist.
KO-fi : https://ko-fi.com/phil24
Thank you for your compassion and solidarity. Together, we can endure even the heaviest storms.
With gratitude.

Hello world🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈❤️🙏
It has been a while since I last made a post here, but today, I’m here with a heavy heart and a message that needs to be heard: the lives of LGBTQ refugees in East Africa have not improved. Daily persecution is still the norm, and discrimination and hate have become the air we breathe. Each day, we face attacks physical, emotional, and systemic from both local communities and authorities.
Tumblr media
So many queer personalities, community leaders, and advocates have fallen victim to death due to the rampant homophobia. We have lost friends, partners, and allies. Being LGBTQ is still criminalized, and that leaves us no room for protection, no opportunity for justice. When violence strikes, when our lives are endangered, any hope of legal recourse is nearly impossible.
I speak not just for myself, but for a community of resilient survivors who endure unimaginable hardships to simply exist. And yet, the world seems to have forgotten us. Our cries for help have too often fallen on deaf ears.
Let me take this moment, once again, to call for global solidarity. Stand with us the silenced queers of East Africa. Your voices amplify ours. Your support gives us strength. Together, we can keep the fight alive, even when everything seems hopeless.
With hope and resilience,
Ashley 🏳️‍⚧️

PLEASE DON’T IGNORE OUR CRY FOR HELP
Hi friends,
My name is Ashley , and I’m a queer refugee originally from Uganda, now living in a refugee camp . I know this might seem unexpected, but I felt the need to reach out because we are in a situation of desperate urgency.
I represent a group of fellow LGBTIQ refugees here, and we are facing unimaginable hardships. Many of us are starving, without food, water, or proper medical care. Some are living with HIV/AIDS and have no access to life-saving medications. The situation here is truly dire. On top of that, we live in constant fear of persecution under Sudan’s harsh anti-LGBTIQ laws.
I’m embarrassed to ask for help this way, but we are at a breaking point. We urgently need support just to survive. Any donation—no matter how small—could save lives in our community. If you’re unable to give, please don’t ignore this message. Sharing this post could reach someone who can help.
Please consider supporting us or spreading the word. This is our reality, and your help can be the lifeline we so desperately need.
GoFundMe Link:
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this. Your compassion means everything in a time like this.
With gratitude,
Ashley.

@vegetableomelette thank you for sharing this darling I really appreciate it, @evpath please check this out. This is a video evidence of me asking for your kindness and support to our cause.👆⬆️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️❤️🙏
‼️ URGENT ‼️
Ashely Phil has reached out to me to share this video!
Although groups are being sent to Canada, they still need resources like food and water, medicine, tents, mosquito nets, repairs (especially because of the destructive rainy season), warm clothes and suitcases, etc. It is dangerous for the LGBTQ+ community, since the environment is so hostile and hate crimes are common.
Please consider donating, and please share!

Hello Everyone, How Are You?
Please take a few minutes to read this post.
I’m writing these words out of sheer desperation. I feel like the world has turned its back on us. Just today, I came across a statistic that Tumblr has over 100 million downloads. That’s an enormous number! But imagine what if 100 million people saw you and ignored you? How would that make you feel? Deeply disappointed? Invisible? Or perhaps wishing you didn’t exist at all?
For us, the LGBTQ+ refugees in East Africa, that feeling of being invisible is our daily reality. We live in constant suffering starving, battling disease, and enduring relentless persecution simply because of who we are. Every day, we fight to survive, knowing that the world seems unaware of our struggles.
Right now, it feels like so much of the world’s attention is focused on the situation in Gaza. And please don’t misunderstand me I’m not saying that takes away from the urgency of what’s happening there. The suffering in Gaza is real and devastating. But I’m asking you to also keep an eye on what’s happening to the LGBTQ+ community in East Africa.
Here, we’re losing lives every day. Our friends and loved ones are dying from starvation, disease, and violent attacks. Yet none of the mainstream media shine a light on us. We are invisible to the world, but our suffering is just as real.
If I wasn’t in desperate need of help, I wouldn’t be here asking. This isn’t just about me it’s about my fellow LGBTQ+ refugees who are starving and homeless, with no access to basic medical care or safety. Every day, we face hostility from those around us. We’re shunned, attacked, and left with nowhere to turn.
Please, don’t ignore us. Be our hope. Be our voice. We’re begging for your support not just to survive, but to have a chance at a life free from suffering.
Even a small donation can make a huge difference. If just a fraction of those who read this post contributed $5, we could feed our community, treat illnesses, and begin to rebuild our lives. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this post. Each share spreads awareness about our situation and brings us closer to finding those who can help.
Your kindness whether through donating or sharing—could save lives. Imagine being in our place one day, needing help from others. What you do today could inspire others to help you or someone else tomorrow.
We survive on barely one meal a day, and some days, not even that. Can you skip a meal and donate what it would have cost to help LGBTQ+ refugees who are suffering?
To everyone who has supported us already, thank you from the depths of our hearts. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us. For those who are willing, please share your donations publicly or send a screenshot privately to encourage others to join in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our posts might get likes, but we desperately need donations to make it through another day. If you’re reading this, please help us. Follow our account, @ashleymilesphil to stay updated on our ongoing situation and the struggles of LGBTQ+ refugees in East Africa.
You are our last hope. Be part of the change. Help us survive.
Thank you so much for your time and kindness. We wish you all the best.
Your Trans Doll
Ashley.

HELLO LGBTQA+ FAMILY 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
I’m here again to reach out to you with a heartfelt plea for support. As we approach the festive season, life becomes even more challenging for our LGBTQ+ refugee community in East Africa. Food prices are skyrocketing, supplies are scarce, and we are facing starvation. Our GoFundMe campaign has raised $1,788 out of our $10,000 goal so far, but donations have slowed significantly, leaving us in urgent need.
We’re calling on all our kind supporters to help us keep going. Your contribution no matter the size can make a real difference in ensuring that our community has food and basic supplies to survive this season.
If you are unable to donate, please don’t feel pressured. You can still help us by sharing or reblogging this post, or by spreading the word about our fundraiser on other social media platforms. Every share helps increase our visibility and brings us closer to reaching the people who can help.
Thank you to everyone who has donated or supported us so far. Your generosity and love keep us hopeful. Let’s keep standing together in solidarity.
Support our campaign today and help us survive.❤️🙏
With gratitude,
A Queer Refugee Community Representative

WHERE IS JUSTICE / WHERE IF HUMANITY ????‼️
A Cry for Help: The Reality of Being LGBTIQ in Exile🌈
This video speaks for itself. A young, innocent gay man, beaten brutally by a hostile local community—this is the harsh reality we face as LGBTIQ refugees in East Africa. When I say that we endure persecution, I mean *this*. This is the daily battle we fight for our right to exist, love, and live like any other person.
This young man, just like countless others, deserves to live his life freely, without fear of violence or hatred. Yet, because of who we are, we are treated like outcasts, subjected to brutal attacks, and silenced. The ongoing civil war in South Sudan only makes it worse, leaving us isolated, without protection, and exposed to more violence and hardship.
To the world watching this video, I ask: *Where is our justice?* Why are we forced to live in fear, hiding who we are, and fighting to survive every single day? We are human too, and our lives matter. Please, this is not just a cry for attention but a cry for help, for support, for action.
If you’re reading this, I urge you to *do something*. Share this video, spread our story, and help us find a way to escape this endless persecution. Your support could make the difference between life and death for people like this young man and the rest of us living in exile.
We cannot survive this alone. Please, stand with us.

This holiday season i ask all of you to help these wonderful people in anyway you can wether it be donating, sharing, reposting, or praying to help them the job can’t be done alone and there is barely a scratch in the surface right now. So please find the kindness in your heart to help.
Help Us Make This Holiday Season Special!🙏❤️🏳️‍🌈
Dear Friends and Supporters,
The holiday season is upon us, and for many, it’s a time of joy, family, and celebration. But for us, the LGBTQ refugees in East Africa, it’s also a time of challenges. As traders in the camp prepare to close their tents early to spend the holidays with their families, the prices of goods are already rising. This makes it even harder for us to secure food and essentials.
This holiday , we’re launching a two-week fundraising campaign with a goal of $1,222 to help us celebrate this festive season. Our plan is simple but meaningful: to share a special meal together one that will bring us a moment of joy, unity, and hope. For many of us, this could be our last celebration in Africa, as we dream of resettlement and a brighter future free from the horrors of homophobia and transphobia.
Tumblr media
Here’s how you can help:
• $10: Feeds one person with a hearty, special meal.
• $25: Feeds three people, giving them a taste of joy this holiday season.
Imagine the impact of sparing just $5 it’s the cost of a coffee or a snack, but for us, it’s a chance to feel valued, to laugh, and to forget, even briefly, the struggles of our daily lives.
We’re currently only 21 individuals for this budget, but together, we’re a community. Your contribution will help us stock up on food before prices skyrocket, ensuring that we have everything we need for a beautiful celebration.
Every dollar you give brings light to our lives. You’re not just feeding us you’re giving us hope, love, and a sense of belonging.
Thank you for standing with us and for being part of our journey. Let’s make this holiday season a memorable one..
With gratitude and love,

We Need Your Support Now More Than Ever
Hello friends.
We are LGBTIQ refugees from East Africa, and we are facing unimaginable challenges in the refugee camps where we have been displaced. Every day, we struggle to survive in hostile environments filled with homophobia and persecution. Our lives are constantly at risk, and we need your help to make it through these difficult times.
Despite the challenges, we have some good news to share! The first group of LGBTIQ refugees from our community is finally heading to Canada. This is a huge milestone for us, and it wouldn't have been possible without your incredible support. But we still have a long way to go. Many of us remain in these camps, living in fear and uncertainty. We are asking, kindly, for your donations to our fundraiser. Every penny counts—whether it’s for food, medication, or shelter, your contribution helps us survive another day.

Thank you so much @vegetableomelette for the Reblog,, hope more people can see this and try to rescue our lives.
A JOURNEY OF SURVIVAL: MY LIFE AS LGBTIQ REFUGEE IN EAST AFRICA🌈
Hello, my name is AshleymilesPhil, 21years old and I’m a queer refugee originally from Uganda. This is my story, but it’s also the story of hundreds of LGBTIQ refugees who have been persecuted, abandoned, and left fighting for their lives simply because of who we are.
Growing up in Uganda, being queer was not just dangerous—it was life-threatening. Uganda’s laws and society are brutally unforgiving to anyone who dares to live openly as LGBTIQ. In constant fear of violence, I had to flee, leaving behind my home, my life, and everything I knew.
My journey first took me to Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, a place I hoped would offer refuge. But the reality in Kakuma was anything but safe. LGBTIQ refugees there are regularly targeted for physical violence, harassment, and discrimination. We were left vulnerable, isolated, and without support. The camp, rather than being a sanctuary, became a place of daily survival.
Eventually, I found myself in Gorom camp in South Sudan, hoping for something better, but the challenges only deepened. South Sudan’s laws are even more hostile toward the LGBTIQ community. Starvation, lack of medical care, and persecution are daily realities here. Many of us in the camp are living with HIV/AIDS and can’t access proper medication. The physical and emotional toll is overwhelming, but we continue to fight for our right to live, love, and simply exist.
Our lives in these camps are on the line every single day. We are not just struggling with a lack of food, water, and healthcare; we are fighting for our very existence against systems that dehumanize us.
We need help and support .The world needs to know what we are going through. My fellow LGBTIQ refugees and I are in desperate need of support to survive these unimaginable conditions. We are asking for your kindness, your solidarity, and if possible, your support. Even a small contribution can make a difference in our fight for survival.
Consider donating to our Gofundme fundraiser
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us in our time of need. Your compassion can bring hope where it’s needed most.
Your support can save lives, provide food for the starving, and offer crucial medical care for those living with HIV/AIDS. We need the world to stand with us against the persecution and injustice we face every day.
