Trump's migrant cruelty has begun
Not only has Trump falsely claimed that immigrants eat dogs and cats, and has threatened to strip DACA recipients of their legal protection against deportation (ex post facto laws are prohibited by the Constitution, but between this and denaturalization, he doesn't know what he's talking about), Trump just appointed Thomas Homan as "Border Czar", who responded coyly when asked “Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?” “Of course there is. Families can be deported together.” Haha. Fascists have a great sense of humor!!! Always at the expense of others.

Kelby Vera at HuffPost:
Canadian actor and entrepreneur Jasmine Mooney is speaking out about her detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after attempting to enter California from Mexico earlier this month. Mooney, a Vancouver native known for her role in 2009’s “American Pie Presents: The Book of Love,” now runs the wellness brand Holy! Water. She was traveling from Vancouver to where she works in Los Angeles when a U.S. border officer at the Vancouver airport informed her that her three-year work visa had been revoked. Seeking to renew her travel authorization, Mooney then attempted to enter the U.S. through the San Ysidro border crossing in San Diego, where she originally obtained her visa, but was detained on March 3. She was held for three nights at San Diego’s Otay Mesa Detention Center, where she described alarming conditions. “I was put in a cell and had to sleep on a mat with no blanket, no pillow, just an aluminum foil wrap over my body like a dead body for two and a half days,” Mooney told San Diego’s ABC affiliate, KGTV. She was later transferred to Arizona’s San Luis Regional Detention Center with 30 other women, all shackled for the duration of their journey.
Add this to the reasons why ICE should be abolished. #AbolishICE

Anna Betts at The Guardian:
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents have detained an undocumented woman who is a prominent immigration advocate in Colorado. Jeanette Vizguerra, 53, was reportedly taken into custody by Ice on Monday outside a Target store in the Denver area where she worked, according to her legal representatives, friends and family members. A Mexican immigrant who entered the US without authorization over 20 years ago, Vizguerra worked as a janitor before owning a moving company. She gained national attention in 2017 when she took sanctuary in a Denver church to avoid deportation during the first Trump administration. Vizguerra, who is a grandmother and mother of four children, was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2017. Her lawyer says she is now being held at a detention facility in Aurora, Colorado. An Ice spokesperson confirmed her arrest to the Guardian, and said Vizguerra was arrested “without incident” on Monday and would “remain in Ice custody pending removal from the United States”. The spokesperson described Vizguerra as “a convicted criminal alien from Mexico who has a final order of deportation issued by a federal immigration judge” and who “illegally entered the United States near El Paso, Texas, on Dec 24, 1997, and has received legal due process in US immigration court”. On Tuesday, lawyers representing Vizguerra filed a writ of habeas corpus in court, urging Ice to bring Vizguerra before the court to determine if her detention is lawful. Vizguerra was charged in 2009 with driving without a license or insurance and for having an expired license plate. Court records show that those charges were dismissed. Her attorney at the time noted, per CNN, that she was also charged in connection with using a fake social security number on a job application.
The illegal detention of immigration advocate Jeanette Vizguerra by ICE goons is more proof that ICE should be abolished. #AbolishICE

lfmao?????
Literally dropped out of the race on August 2nd after realizing they couldn't keep up the lie of "48 state ballot access" and then realized they couldn't keep fundraising (scamming people) with that line and decided to remove this statement and go back to "fundraising for the campaign" and telling people in all 50 states to write them in as of August 22nd 2024, despite knowing only 9 states by default have eligible write-in laws for them.
It should also be noted they've emphasized multiple times that they will *not* be running for President again after this, so with them publicly admitting they have zero ballot access except the states that by default allow all write-ins....
... what, exactly, are they planning on doing with all the "campaign funds" they're getting, if it's not going towards *basic maintenance* of their official website which has been half-assed and half finished since April 2024 when it got its current look, and they're not spending any of their money on ballot access and don't plan on running ever again, so none of the funds are going towards a future campaign???
Like. This is literally someone who wants people to face the death penalty via a firing squad and wants 3 year olds getting target practice in school to better equip them to handling guns for their entire public education.
The SECOND you look any deeper into their policies all their claims fall apart.

New Orleans: International Workers’ Day - Legalization for All!
Monday, May 1 - 5:00 p.m.
Gather at Basin St. & Conti St. near the Benito Juarez statue
March to City Hall
On May Day, Show Solidarity with Migrant Workers Alongside millions of others around the world, we will be in the streets on May 1 to push forward the struggle for workers’ rights.
This May Day we march especially for the rights of our migrant brothers and sisters here in Louisiana.
Whether on farms or in construction, in the home or in hospitals, clinics, etc., migrant workers carry society on their backs. Yet millions of our migrant siblings suffer from low wages, workplace abuses (including the threat of detention or deportation), and from the denial of basic social benefits like food stamps, housing subsidies, and healthcare coverage. All while they pay billions in taxes every year.
Never content with the billions in profits they get from unpaid labor of workers, the capitalists are ramping up the exploitation and racist scapegoating of our migrant siblings. Biden is moving to revive the policy of caging families in horrific ICE prisons, where immigrants can now be held indefinitely according to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court. Congress is considering a bill to cut the already criminally low wages of farmworkers. Candidate-for-governor and Attorney General Jeff Landry is threatening immigrant rights groups and trying to whip up anti-immigrant hatred while he rakes in millions from the exploitation of migrant workers.
A united working class fightback is needed to push back the capitalists and their paid off politicians.
Join us on May 1 5PM at Basin and Conti St. (at the Benito Juárez statue)Fight for Workers Rights, Demand Legalization for All
