When I performed this spell, and played it back, several cracks formed in my phone and then the cracks moved and created a branch of wood from thin air. That's because I'm Jesus Christ, also known as The Branch.
And that's the Truth.
I also summoned some beetles which marched in formation as they were summoned from the earth. I won't tell you what the flies did or what the ants said, though. That's for the shadows.

Hey, @geothewriter, was it necessary to break my heart?
A little thing for Vermillion Seas, Cardinal Skies, a truly magnificent fic that has left yours truly rolling on the ground more than once. I'll post the entire artwork once it's finished! For now, you get a little sneak peek.
Start reading the fic here. You can find Chapter 19 (from which this scene comes from) here!

Batman had The Brave and The Bold for Team-ups. Superman had DC Comics Presents and briefly he had World's Finest for Team-Ups too. On the Marvel side of things, there was Marvel Team-up (which starred Spider-Man as our team-up lead), and Marvel Two-In-One (which starred The Thing). I can only imagine what DC and Marvel could have done if they'd chosen to do a third team-up book, and what hero could lead that book. So I'm going to do a poll on it, just because i'm curious. I'll give options of some of my favorite characters from DC and/or Marvel (or just characters that I think would make for a great leads in team up settings), and then i'll let you vote on it. Just because I want to see who would win these polls. I'll start with DC first, I guess.
And since I can only do one poll per post, i'll save the marvel one for afterwards. I already have some good options in mind for a Marvel one. Possibly more even than for this one.

The what ifs
Captain paused, as they touched the ground of the ruined park, a consequence of the ended battle.
“What did you say?” Billy asked, Captain nodded in the shared interest.
 The person whispered, quietly.
“I'm sorry, I can’t understand you.” Billy admitted, a small tinge of upset budded within himself. He paused, bringing his attention to Marvel.
There was a loose smile laid on Captain’s face which seemed to indicate Marvel understood as much as Billy did.
“Who are you?” Billy asked.
They replied, but he couldn’t hear.
The loose smile fell into a nervous one, and Billy was beginning to feel redundant, “I’m sorry…Can you please speak up?” He asked, timidly.
“𝔶o҉𝔲…҉ f҉𝔦n҉𝔞l҉𝔩y҉ t҉𝔥e҉ w҉𝔦n҉𝔡 𝔥a҉𝔰 𝔢c҉𝔥o҉𝔢d҉ t҉𝔥e҉ w҉𝔬r҉𝔡s҉ o҉𝔣 𝔱h҉𝔢 𝔲n҉𝔦v҉𝔢r҉𝔰e҉, 𝔱h҉𝔢 𝔰n҉𝔞k҉𝔢 𝔥a҉𝔰 𝔟i҉𝔱t҉𝔢n҉ i҉𝔱s҉ t҉𝔞i҉𝔩.҉ t҉𝔥e҉ e҉𝔫d҉ w҉𝔦t҉𝔥 𝔱h҉𝔢 𝔟e҉𝔤i҉𝔫n҉𝔦n҉𝔤 𝔞s҉ t҉𝔥e҉𝔶 𝔢x҉𝔦s҉𝔱 𝔱o҉𝔤e҉𝔱h҉𝔢r҉ i҉𝔫 𝔦m҉𝔭e҉𝔯m҉𝔞n҉𝔢n҉𝔠e҉…” They whispered.
Captain narrowed their eyes as they tried to decipher what the unknown voice said.
“Uh…I…I’m sorry, you’re confusing me.” Billy paused, “Impermanence? Did you say that?”
“𝔡a҉𝔯e҉ i҉ s҉𝔭e҉𝔞k҉ l҉𝔬u҉𝔡e҉𝔯?҉ y҉𝔢s҉ i҉ d҉𝔬 𝔡a҉𝔯e҉, 𝔦n҉𝔡e҉𝔢d҉. 𝔫o҉ r҉𝔢g҉𝔯e҉𝔱s҉ m҉𝔞y҉ r҉𝔦d҉𝔡l҉𝔢 𝔪y҉ f҉𝔲n҉𝔠t҉𝔦o҉𝔫l҉𝔢s҉𝔰 𝔟o҉𝔡y҉…”
Marvel blinked again, eyes widening too, almost in registration.
The words made Billy wonder if he was hard of hearing or just too light in the head. His confusion was interrupted as the odd voice spoke again.
“Iḿṕéŕḿáńéńćé, ӳőú áńd í. Áś ẃéĺĺ áś ćőńtŕádíćtíőńś, főŕ í éxíśt főŕévéŕ áńd ńő évéŕḿőŕé. I bŕéáthé thŕőúǵh ḿӳ hőńőŕ áńd áḿ śháṕéd thŕőúǵh thé ćŕúéĺ ẃőŕdś— I, á tőŕtúŕéd śőúĺ, ḿáӳ ńévéŕ ŕéśt. Billy started to feel like a fool. The words, Billy didn’t get what any of them meant. He wanted to frown, despite his incapability to do so at that moment, he had too many questions and no way of answers. Goodness, the words didn’t make any sense anymore.
“Captain?”
Captain Marvel’s head swung toward the voice, and their eyes landed on Superman.
“…Yes?” They muttered, sheepishly scratching the back of their neck. The look in Superman’s eyes and the furrow of his brows made Billy want to squirm, and Marvel began to fidget on their feet.
The voice spoke up again, no more coherent than the last, “Thé štörÿ thé qüîłł háš ćréátéd áñd šîgñéd för ÿöü, îñtrîgüéš mé. Wîłł ÿöür démîšé bé áš hörrîfîć áñd grüéšömé áš thé pášt wéré? Höwévér háš thé évéñt bééñ šćrîptéd? Öh, pérhápš théÿ’d áłłöw mé tö táké á péék. Thé hörrîbłé šîght ćöüłd błéšš mÿ éÿéš áš Î göügé thém áftérwárd…” The voice droned, a smile present in their tone.
Billy sighed internally, and Marvel did the same.
“Ñéw Ćhámpîöñ. Ćhámpîöñ. Thát wáš mÿ tîtłé öñćé, ñö ñümbér, ñö łégáćÿ tö öwñ. Î ám thé réášöñ för ÿöür éxîštéñćé, béćáüšé Î ám á fáîłüré. Fáîłüré, áłł Ćhámpîöñš áré fáîłüréš, máÿ Î fáîł. Máÿ ÿöü fáîł. Máÿ thé ñéxt fáîł šö théré áré öthérš tö fáîł. Fáîłîñg îš á ćöñšéqüéñćé öf bréáthîñg, áñd thîš îš öñłÿ trüé bÿ mÿ áćtöñ. Łîštéñ tö mé, łîštéñ tö mé.” The voice repeated that last part over and over and over and over an—again.
Billy wanted to frown, the voice was wearing him down like an old shoe. The person was still speaking nonsense, or was it nonsense, yes it was nonsense. And Billy started to feel bad for the voice, despite the reasons why he shouldn’t have because he knew their words were rooted in reality, they seemed out of it.
Billy decided to focus on someone else, and shifted his attention to Superman. He was looking at them, oddly.
“Captain, can you hear me?”
What a silly question, of course he could. Adults often did a thing where they asked pointless questions to him, maybe Superman had entertained the habit, too.
Billy responded this time, “Yes, Superman. You’re perfectly heard, fine, for sure.” And they gave him a toothy smile.
That didn’t stop the look. “I…” He cut himself off, “Okay, Captain.”
Good, Billy thought, maybe he understood now.
Captain smiled wider.
Something landed in the grass before them and their eyes focused on it. The shiny golden liquid began to drip onto the ground as if it was watering the grass at their feet.
The golden substance seemed familiar.
The liquid continued to drip past their eyes, and rain onto the floor.
“Captain?”
“Hm?” Marvel looked up, staring Superman in the eyes.
His tone became…harsher, “Are you alright?” He said.
Marvel nodded, which caused something to trickle down their forehead and down the sides of their head.
Did they move their head into the gold rain?
Superman spoke, “Captain Marvel, can you look at me?”
Billy was certain Superman was doing the thing now, the adult thing.
So, Captain Marvel laughed. “I am.” They replied.
As they laughed, the liquid shook down their head and fell down their neck.
Captain raised their arm, and tapped their forehead.
They stopped, eyes wide.
It was covered in thick gold.

fucked up that I can read 100 pages in a day but it has to be to the exclusion of all other tasks. reading a 500 page book in a week sounds totally reasonable, that sounds like a media experience that should take a week, and it can! but watch out!

Greenlit Lightning (Part 1)
《⚡️Billy gets the Omnitrix AU⚡️》
Lightning strikes as the nexus of Power that is the Living Lightning passes from the Wizard to its new wielder and for a brief moment, the line blurring the Rock of Eternity from the rest of reality disappears completely.
The excess of power spills forth, a tidal wave, a symphony of CHOSEN CHOSEN CHOSEN blaring to all and sundry as the Centre of All that was Magic proudly announces that one who was Worthy had finally been found.
A certain pod, bereft of direction without Max Tennyson alive on this earth is caught in the aftermath, its programming immediately latching onto the Beacon of the Worthy and inexorably drawn in.
Travelling at light speed, its shell breaks upon contact with the rising barriers of the Rock of Eternity, but its much more durable cargo successfully makes it through, latching on to the wrist of one magically transforming boy.
Thus as Billy Batson becomes Captain Marvel, so too does he take on an equally great responsibility...
The Omnitrix.

Guys, I’ve read the Wild Robot
Tumblr media
And let me tell you, if I hadn’t recently taken a Children’s Literature class in college, I would’ve said this was the best middle-grade book I’ve read since elementary/middle school. I almost read this book in one night (I was sleepy 😴) like I couldn’t put it down.
The heart behind this book is astounding and it never shies away from showing complex and difficult concepts. You will fall in love with Roz and her gosling son along with all of the other animal on the island.
If you’ve got younger ones, I highly recommend reading this to them or having a little book club moment with them. However, be prepared for whatever hard questions may come your way (i.e. circle of life and climate issues). You know your child and how much they can handle/understand. If you’re like me and much older, it’s a quick read and a great way to finish off a long day. It’s a part of a trilogy and you bet I’m patiently waiting for my hold on a copy at the library.
If the movie is anything like the book (which, given a rewatch of the trailer, it’s looking like so), we are in for a special treat.

So the inspiration is from this prompt thread.
But the Idea is that Danny Phantom and Batman get accidentally thrown into the Marvel universe when trying to stop villain of the week went sideways. Thanks to the Time medallion in Danny’s chest he wasn’t de-aged but Bruce was. We’ll put Bruce at about 8 years old and Danny at 15-16.
Interesting thing about different dimensions is that the X gene only activates in a Marvel universe and the Meta gene only activates in a DC universe. People can have one or both genes but only activate in the correct universe, but once activated they will still have there powers in any world. Danny has the Meta gene that activated in the ghost portal. Bruce has the X gene that could not activate in the DC universe.
Now in the Marvel universe Danny and Bruce are having to rely on each other while trying to find a way home. Danny keeps using his powers to protect them but that comes with the consequences of being mistaken for Mutants and are now being hunted by anti mutant groups, the brotherhood of mutants, and from Danny and Bruce’s perspective the X-men as they don’t know friends from foe yet in this world. But as they try to survive and they are are getting run ragged, danny is getting to where his limits and his powers are starting to give out on him.
Well ya’ll can add onto it from there.

With the reveal that Billy is in fact Billy(!) I'm rethinking the other episodes and how much of the "Teen" persona we've seen so far is actually Billy?
Like Billy's constant defensiveness of Agatha. Was that real, did he truly want to give Agatha a second chance? Was his fanboying about all things to do with Witchcraft also lies? We know he was lying about wanting power so is he really on the road to find Tommy, Viz and Wanda?
What about Teddy? "Oh, he worries", I WONDER WHY BILLY?! ITS ALMOST LIKE HE KNOWS YOU!
Also, something I literally just realised when writing this, Billy is revealed in Episode 5 and Billy and Tommy's episode was the 5th in WV!
And that missing credit with the hex over the westview map! Is that going to be Wanda? Tommy? Vision?
I hope next episode is a Billy flashback because I want to see the Kaplans and Teddy SO BADLY! Maybe even a comic book accurate origin story?!
If you can't tell my YA fangirl side is freaking out and I'm so happy!
Also Billy totally put the sigal on himself - that's why the other witches said it was so amateur - so Agatha wouldn't immediately put it together that Billy is Wanda's

I'm gonna say it: I don't think I like Denny O'Neil too much. I like some of his limited runs at marvel in the 60s, but then I learned he apparently helped Frank Miller get a job writing Daredevil. I also learned he was editor when Jim Starlin killed Jason Todd. And on top of that, Denny O'Neil also sent Batman back into the darkness after the Adam West show ended. And he wrote Martian Manhunter out of the Justice League! Now that one...that one somehow aggravates me most. You messed with Gardner Fox's vision and took away my favorite character, Denny! You suck! And now I'm inclined to judge you more harshly!
