Imagine your f/o hugging you as if their life depended on it. Arms securely wrapped around you, their gentle but protective embrace being expressed as an attempt to physically show their gratitude for you. It is warm, accepting, it is infinitely and wholly loving. All for you.

So you're telling me the petals are animated into his attacks. You're telling me that the petals that kick up under his movement and the swing of his scythe are animated into his attacks and aren't just an arena effect. That his footsteps are punctuated by the moonlit ellipsis of flowers with no true name. Is that what you're saying.

Your f/o wants you to be yourself and how you do around them. Depressed or having a bad day? Irritated, stressed, happy, or silly? Allow yourself to feel it all around them. They'll support and encourage you to be open and honest. You deserve to be supported!

Miscellaneous assortment of submas headcanons
• They're always wearing some sort of hat with whatever outfit they're wearing. They are rarely, if not never, seen hatless in public.
• Ingo and Emmet are terrible liars; Ingo is the type of bad liar who hesitates and stutters over his words while trying to think of something plausible while Emmet would blurt out something batshit on the spot without giving much thought on what he's saying. Both of them are sweating profusely as they do this.
• Both of the twins are workaholics, but Emmet has the greatest tendancy to overwork himself to an unhealthy degree. Sometimes it's out of stubbornness and other times he's so engrossed in the task at hand that he loses track of time. Ingo always had to be the one to keep him grounded and remind him to eat or convince him to sleep, even if he has to forcibly drag him away from it.
• Undeniably, Emmet does feel a tinge of frustration whenever he's called out on this behaviour as he feels he is being babied by everyone around him, plus he always has the feeling that he has to do more as a subway boss, especially as the youngest. With that said, this makes Emmet a massive hypocrite as he still expresses great concern over anyone else who exhibits similar behaviour (i.e. his employees) and discourages them from doing what he does.
• It's not always intentional, but sometimes Ingo's big brother instincts does seep out that he ends up doting on his gear station employees. He does feel embarrassed for himself and apologises whenever he catches himself doing this.
• Compliments from Emmet hit different. This isn't to say that compliments or words of affirmation from Ingo are disingenuous but, as Emmet has a reputation for being honest to a fault, anyone would know that when he says something good about you he means it.
• While Emmet likes to eavesdrop on conversations he thinks are interesting in the gear station, Ingo likes to people watch. No matter how much time he spends at the gear station for, he's never not fascinated by the many kinds of people he sees come and go across the platforms or the challengers that face him on his single lines.
• Ingo is not naive but, being the idealistic man he is who tries to see the good in everyone, he is more trusting of others to a point he could be taken advantage of. It also doesn't help that he has difficulty in saying no sometimes. Thankfully Emmet is far better in seeing through people's BS and will help Ingo out if he feels it's going to get to that point
• The twins are really social and have an affinity for accommodating people. Because of this they love having guests over and being hosts.
• Ingo has more of a knack for catering and taking care of people's needs, while Emmet is one for entertaining and making sure they have a good time; there is a part of him that feels a sense of pride whenever he manages to make someone laugh with his no filter takes and exaggerated movements.
• They also love the idea of tutoring trainers in competitive battling if they had the time, especially Emmet; ask him for any advice or tips and he will enthusiastically talk your ear off with stars in his eyes and flapping his hands.
• Both twins are under the impression one brother is favoured over the other; Ingo is so self-conscious about his inability to smile properly and coming across as too stiff that he envies how Emmet can easily express himself physically and believes he is favoured among passengers for it, while Emmet is aware how he can come off as rude or too forward when he didn't mean to be and envies Ingo for being better at thinking over his words carefully and not scaring people off before it's too late. Neither twin would ever admit this to each other though, and at the end of the day they both balance each other out and help one another through their weaknesses.

What if everyone in Legends Arceus were to become self aware and are completely baffled if not exasperated by the player being so gentle (yet still firm) with Volo?
"You are aware of what he's done, yes?"
"Of course I am. And it was very wrong of him. But that doesn't mean his mistakes have to define him. Volo is capable of learning and growing. And Kamado, you're a FINE one to talk about betrayal."
And the player is rather protective of Volo despite understanding completely why everyone would be cross with him.
"If you dislike him so much then you don't have to be around him! I want to spend some time alone with him anyway."
And the player gently holding his face but giving him a serious look despite the sweet tone. "You're going to be a good boy from now on, right? You won't cause any more trouble?"
👀?
Everyone knew Volo had upset you.
It was as clear as day when you cried out at his betrayal. How upset it had made you. How it had hurt you.
You genuinely wanted to see him as a friend, only for him to betray you. It clearly upset you the first time you played this 'game'.
Afterwards, you were interestingly distant with Volo in any other run of the game. But many people didn't think too hard about it. It was natural you would keep him at a distance.
Besides, many of them were too busy focusing on breaking free from the code that held them all as pseudo prisoners.
It wasn't until you were on a playthrough dedicated to getting every pokemon and every shiny, as well as completing the pokedex to its fullest extent that they were able to show you they were aware.
It wasn't much longer from that when they were able to pull you in freely.
You were naturally startled, but quickly adapted, happy to meet so many characters and pokemon dear to your heart.
(Even if you were a bit weirded out how some seemed to see you as a deity of some sort sometimes.)
Everyone wanted to meet you with your sudden arrival (even if you didn't exactly plan to be pulled into a video game).
Even Volo of course was curious, but he didn't directly approach you. He stayed almost out of sight from you in the village. Just close enough to see you and maybe hear you.
After all, why would you want to see him? After all he had done to you? Betraying you again and again, even if he wasn't in control after that first time?
You had made it painfully clear the first time how upset his betrayal had made you.
And yet...
The first time you caught him watching you, you not only approached him, but told him hello. You even politely introduced yourself, not showing an ounce of fear or disdain.
Volo was shocked, and nearly couldn't speak. It was clear he was taken off guard.
The villagers were also surprised. Didn't you hate him? Dislike him at the very least?
Perhaps you were just being polite for the first greeting, being in a new environment, or were afraid of angering him?
Volo knew that wasn't true though, you showed no fear when greeting him. Even your eyes held no terror when meeting his gaze.
Instead, your eyes met his head on, and you simply smiled at him.
That wasn't even the last time you did so either.
Any time you came across him, (or caught him watching you from a distance), you acknowledged his presence, even trying to include him half the time so he didn't feel left out.
It was... confusing, to say the least.
Perhaps you had gotten over it? Or if you were some sort of deity, you were a benevolent and forgiving one?
Of course, many people questioned your decision, and you stood firm over it.
"He hurt me, yes, but is he not trying to earn forgiveness? Shunning someone who genuinely wants to learn and grow from their past actions will only push them away. There are of course, some things that are unforgivable, however..."
You looked at Volo almost fondly.
"I like to think he can redeem himself if he works for it. He just needs a gentle push."
It's baffling, even to Volo, who questions if he is even worthy of such kindness after all he has done to you. Yet here you are, standing up for him and trying to protect him.
You simply smile to him, and grab his hands so gently in your own.
"I like to believe in the best of people, even when they have done bad things. You made a mistake, and no one was ultimately hurt. But..."
Your eyes get an almost cold gleam to them. One that has a cold shiver run down Volo's spine.
"You are going to be good, right? No more surprises, no more attempts at becoming a god?"
The hold on his hands were gentle and soft, and your voice was as sweet and gentle as ever.
But your eyes...
Your eyes held a look that wasn't a threat. They held a silent promise.
Volo nodded, his mouth becoming dry as he caught a glimpse of just what you were capable of.
"Yes. I'll... I'll behave."
The look in your eyes vanished as you reached up and cupped his face. You gave him a tender smile.
"Good."

An f/o who is rough around the edges gazing at you with the most love and adoration they can possibly muster, an expression to show that you're one of the few, if not the only one who gives them these feelings. Their opinion of you is unwavering, they don't need to prove anything to anyone, but they feel the need (and want) to show you how much they need you (even if it is hard for them to express).

"My f/o would hate me" NO THEY WOULD NOT "My f/o and I wouldn't get along" NOT TRUE "My f/o would never accept me" FALSE My friend, YOU make the rules with your selfship. If you want your f/o to be in love with you and only you, head over heels, completely entranced by you? THEN IT'S TRUE! If you want them to be your best friend and the one you could always rely on if ever given the chance, someone who knows you more than anyone, THEN THAT'S ALSO TRUE! It may be easier said than done, but selfshipping is SUPPOSED to be fun, you're supposed to find joy and warmth and comfort in it! So, with that being said, just know that you don't need to follow canon, you don't need to be some perfect version of a self insert or change for an f/o, because they would love you for you. Without any doubt in my mind, without any hesitation. Your f/o would completely accept you.

y/n can be little sister of Maria, and they both found shadow in the lab and y/n put some stickers at shadow face i think cute pls pls
Sticker Fiasco
pairings: Shadow the Hedgehog x reader x Maria Robotnik (platonic)
warnings: minor Sonic 3 spoilers
summary: on your way to your new room, you and your sister stumble upon a strange hedgehog who is unamused by the stickers you seem to place around him
a/n: THIS IS SO CUTEEE!! sorry for taking a bit with these requests! I currently have like 7+ requests in my inbox so please be patient with me!
You let out a small giggle as you held onto your sister’s shirt. She was skating through the facility and you clung onto her, your skates dragging you along.
It wasn’t a long journey to where you needed to go, it was just a small room for you and your sister to share but it was near your grandfathers laboratory, so you both needed to go down a few hallways to find it.
At some point you reached the hallway that Maria said you needed to go through to find your room. As she neared it one of the guards blocked her off, “Hey this is a restricted area,”
Another man quickly stepped in, “Don’t you know these are the Doctors grandchildren? He takes them everywhere he goes,” the man offered you both a smile and kneeled down a bit, “Lose the skates though,” he offered a word of advice, both you and Maria nodded back at him, letting him know you would.
Both of you then skated down the hall, taking off your skates at some point. As you continued walking you reached an empty lab, with a strange creature in the middle. Maria put both of your things down on a nearby desk as she entered, you followed short behind.
There was no one in the room besides the strange looking hedgehog in the middle. Maria slowly made her way up to it, she then waved at you to come over, which you hesitantly did. While you both stared, the hedgehog inside suddenly turned around, his face held a mean expression.
You stood behind your sister, grabbing onto her nervously. Maria laughed at the hedgehogs face, making a fake angry face at him as well, trying to mimic his look. You let out a small giggle causing the hedgehog to look at you.
Quickly Maria turned around and grabbed the marker that was on the table and began to draw on the glass the hedgehog was confined behind. You watched her draw, slowly stepping out from behind her. Suddenly remembering the little stickers you had in your pocket that your grandfather had gifted you.
Grabbing them you started to put at least a dozen stickers all around the bunny Maria had drawn, only enhancing the cute image in front of you.
Once you both finished the two of you looked towards each other and laughed, the hedgehog shifted to the side, deadpanning at the stickers and drawing you and your sister had added.
Maria gave you a quick nod towards the tube, putting her hand on it, you did the same. Each of you putting a hand on the cold glass.
He looked at both of your hands, raising his own to press onto the glass as well, once he did you smiled brightly at him, somewhat jumping with joy at the chance for you and your sister to makes a new friend.
The little hedgehog was also happy, happy to finally be seen as something besides a lab rat, maybe even a part of a family.

imagine dancing in the kitchen in the middle of the night with your f/o! One of you was in the kitchen grabbing a snack or drink, and the other sleepily follows them into the kitchen and hugs them from behind, nuzzling their face into their neck. Swaying back and forth to nonexistent music, content in the moment to just be in the other's arms.

A reminder:
You don't have to do anything to earn your f/o's love. You are worthy of their time and attention just by being there. They love you unconditionally, they have you and that's enough.
