some quick caleb headcanons before i conk out!! 🙏

caleb really likes mixed nuts. it's a pilot thing, he says — however, do note that he unfortunately developed a mild allergy to peanuts when he turned 21. he mourns the taste of peanut butter every morning...

caleb's favorite thing when the two of you are far away from one another has always been the video calls — but especially when you'd fall asleep on call with him. you'd stop responding, and he would hear your breathing even out, and that made him smile. only then could he fall asleep too, after taking a few screenshots of your sleeping face.

caleb always looks good, but he especially shines during the summer. you never tell him that because his head would inflate upon learning that you think he glows in the warmer months, but he really does. his freckles are way more prominent (especially on his back!), and he sports the most handsome tan ever. what you don't know, though, is that he glows during the summer because he gets to take you to the beach and admire you in your pretty swimsuit, all while splashing along in the cool water.

— note: caleb also somehow gets sunburnt more often after you two start dating. you don't know it's because he really likes the feeling of your fingers applying cool aloe vera gel to his face, but taking care of him makes you happy, so whatever.

I've listed the ones I've done art for at the beginning but from there on I've just been adding whenever I came across something from my own liked songs that I could see stiles jam out to. Best on shuffle!

It ended up with so many of my hype favorites hahaha. if you put this on, say 'actually, what would realistically happen in this scenario is...' in the mirror 3 times and open a can of coke, you'll summon a ghostly apparition of me that'll poorly but enthusiastically dance in your kitchen.

There are good things in this world still

Today, I did a lot of chores, and the house is a lot cleaner, and it feels nicer to be in.

Today, I had a lot of "dust" chow leftover from the mouse food bags, that I had collected into containers. I mixed it with a little water, and made a few batches of different flavors (honey, maple+brown sugar, peanut butter) and I'm dehydrating them overnight to be mouse food instead of garbage. I'm looking forward to how they will turn out, but I did take a little of the wet mash and stuff a small cardboard tube (maybe 2-3" long and 3/4"-1" diameter) with the peanut butter mixture. BIG hit with the mice I put it in with, I came back an hour later and one of the ladies was lost in the sauce halfway in the tube. She pulled herself out when I opened the bin and looked up at melike what the hell I stopped for THIS?

Today I watched Cowboys and Aliens. it was very silly.

Today, I sent two mice home with a lady who was ECSTATIC about getting new mice.

Lots of thought went into the decision but I got the Ashford wheel today! I also started (and will probably finish) spinning this braid:

It's the colorway Grapevine from Knitting My Way Home. 50% Merino, 25% silk, 25% flax. The deep rich green, teal and purple are gorgeous and contrasted so well by the pale lavender/seafoam sections.

However, the flax is annoying. Even with a TON of prep (I spent all last evening splitting and pre-drafting to try and distribute it) it's still spinning up in crusty-feeling clumps. I'll trust the process and see how i feel in the end.

I'm doing a fractal 3-ply and trying to get the hang of the wheel! I had to replace the brake band from cotton to monofilament because some of the bobbins were rougher than others, but that was easy enough.

Here's the first 2 plies. Will probably show off the finished yarn by evening's end!
