GMM & P’Tha are so obsessed with trending/engagement, yet the highest engagement everywhere rn is from a casual event—the outing. Posts from the actors are pulling double, sometimes 4x their usual likes & reposts on both Twitter & Insta

The outing also seems to have monetary benefits since the artists use the tag, but it just proves one thing,if people genuinely enjoy something, they’ll talk about it on social media anyway. That’s what brings higher engagement & trending naturally.

i find it funny actually, because everyone and their mother will talk shit about gmm, people who watch their shows included, but both the outing and the gmmtv events at the end of the year pull easily millions of tweets quite literally every single time.

the thing about the outing though, that differs from the gmmtv event and their series especially and i think makes them incomparable is that the outing pulls the numbers for the sheer factor of it being like a reality show of two (in this year's case, one) days and one night. you have a resort full of performers who we don't see all together usually, very much drunk and probably high, sometimes dressed in very ridiculous and nonsensical outfits, dancing and singing and partying hard for pretty much an entire day. that alone gives you much more to talk than your usual 50 minutes of a show. it is organic, but it's also about how much fans love to gossip about their lives (for example, there's the ohmpoon skyrocketing their ship, neomint might not have broken up after all? the shit about khaotung smoking or not smoking in a hotel corridor, and many other things probably that didn't reach my bubble and i wasn't bothered to look up).
