Ryan Adamczeski at The Advocate:
The Republican candidate for North Carolina governor believes that children who are raped turn into "monsters" who "do unspeakable things.” Mark Robinson, who is the current lieutenant governor of the state, made the vile comments in a Facebook video from 2018, which is still up less than a week before the elections. “As long as this nation continues to sew these seeds of perversion, we’re going to reap a whirlwind and a harvest of pure horror. You better believe it,” Robinson filmed himself saying. “We keep twisting these children’s minds up, allowing these children to be raped, both undercover and in our faces. “And those children are going to grow up to be absolute monsters,” he continued. “They are going to be monsters that are going to do unspeakable things.” The lieutenant governor has repeatedly made headlines for his contentious remarks about the LGBTQ+ community, as well as anti-Semitic comments including Holocaust denial and promoting reading Adolf Hitler. Robinson is currently suing CNN over a report released last month, which found Robinson's full name, picture, and known email address attached to a profile on the pornography website "Nude Africa." In several comments, he seemingly expressed support for reinstating slavery, as well as referred to himself as a "black NAZI!" and called Martin Luther King Jr. “worse than a maggot.”
Bat-cray Mark Robinson continues to embarrass North Carolinians every time he opens his gab.

Friendly reminder that almost half of the states in the U.S. have same day registration! This means you can go to the polling center for your location, register there, and cast your vote same day. So if you are over 18, are a U.S. citizen, and live in one of the states listed below, it is not too late to register and vote! I’m going to put notes for some of the states where voting is extra important due to the political climate of the state. *Please note that every state has its own rules and requirements for same day registration and voting, some are only for early voting, or have very specific ID requirements. Make sure to research your state specifically before showing up to the polls
California
Colorado
Connecticut
D.C.
Hawaii
Idaho
Illinois
Iowa - recent polls indicate state could flip from red to blue
Maine
Maryland
Michigan - swing state! Could go red or blue!
Minnesota
Montana
Nevada - swing state! Could go red or blue!
New Hampshire
New Mexico
North Carolina - swing state! Could go red or blue - same day registration allowed only for early voting
North Dakota - voter registration not required
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin - swing state! Could go red or blue
Wyoming
You can go here for more info on voter registration
I also have a huge list of voting resources here

WATCH: Protesters in Raleigh dropped off letters at the state legislature Monday denouncing a post-election Republican power grab that seizes powers held by offices that Democrats won in November. Senate Bill 382 was supposed to be a hurricane relief bill for western North Carolina, which was hit hard by Hurricane Helene in September. But it mostly contains attacks on the powers held by offices like the governor, attorney general, and superintendent of public instruction — which were all won by Democrats in November’s election. It also takes oversight of elections away from the governor’s office. Demonstrators during the “Moral Monday” protest in Raleigh likened it to a “coup,” saying that it undermines the will of the voters. Gov.-elect Josh Stein has condemned the bill. So has outgoing Gov. Roy Cooper and former Gov. Pat McCrory — a Republican. Cooper vetoed the bill, but Republican lawmakers in the House are expected to consider overriding the governor’s veto Wednesday in Raleigh. Stay tuned to @cardinalandpine for updates.

The hardest hit areas of NC and TN are Trump Strongholds. The longer the response means the easier it will be for the DNC to create votes.
Watch them like a hawk. Video everything. Expose them all.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4901476-north-carolina-purges-747k-voters/
North Carolina has cut 747,000 people from its list of registered voters in the past 20 months- that’s 10% of their 7.7 million registered voters.
And this after NC Republicans filed a lawsuit that the state failed to act on complaints about ineligible people registered.
Check your voter registration status here, and encourage family and friends to check theirs as well.
North Carolina DOES offer online voter registration here:
There is also same day registration during the early voting period ONLY

Trump probably can't win the presidential election without North Carolina. 🤔💡
It would be difficult though not out of the question for Kamala Harris to win without Pennsylvania. But it would be close to impossible for Donald Trump to win without taking North Carolina.
If Trump loses North Carolina, it could be an early night — and curtains for GOP
Democrats hope that momentum determines the presidential winner and even changes the contours of election night. North Carolina polls close early, at 7:30 p.m. Moreover, state law allows processing of mail-in votes well before Election Day, making an early count possible. (Some states, including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, cannot start processing until Election Day, which could result in delays of several days before a winner is determined.) Should Harris win North Carolina’s 16 electoral votes, Trump’s chances of victory diminish greatly. He would need a virtual sweep of other battleground states (and likely all of the blue-wall states).
A quick reminder that North Carolina was the state which gave Trump his narrowest victory in 2020. It was won in 2008 by Barack Obama. So we're not exactly talking Tennessee or Idaho here.
An early-evening victory in a state Democrats have not won for 16 years would reverberate through the country, potentially depressing GOP turnout in Western states and diminishing the appetite for stunts to refuse certification of results in states such as Arizona and Georgia (which would not be determinative if Harris holds the blue wall and wins North Carolina).
Republicans are more likely to vote on Election Day than Democrats who have adopted early voting in greater numbers than Republicans. So an early call for Harris-Walz in North Carolina on the night of the election would more likely depress Republican votes in the Western US.
One thing which may negatively affect Trump in the state is the awful Republican candidate for governor of North Carolina.
[T]he North Carolina governor’s race might have a “reverse coattails” effect. The Republican nominee, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, is an extremist conspiracy nut, a “fount of social media conspiracy theories and vile proclamations about the LGBT community, Jews, and other minority group,” the Daily Beast noted this year. From Holocaust denial to thundering that “some folks need killing” to his support for an abortion ban from “zero weeks,” he symbolizes everything wrong with today’s MAGA Republican Party. Robinson’s Democratic opponent, Josh Stein, the state attorney general, has opened a 10-point lead. If Democrats tie Robinson (a Trump favorite) to Trump, voters might run from both. At the very least, Republicans could suffer a drop in turnout as disgusted North Carolinians simply stay home.
A better than average turnout of Dems in NC would help flip the state. If you live just over the border in deep red South Carolina or Tennessee then consider doing some volunteer work in North Carolina. It could have an impact which extends far beyond the Tar Heel State.

OH FUCK YES!!!
While North Carolina Presidential is still too close to call (Trump leads, but not by much), Josh Stein has WON the governor's race, and self-proclaimed "Black Nazi", slavery fan, opponent of women voting, and Holocaust Denier Mark Robinson has gone down in spectacular defeat!
At least one of America's worst people has already been blocked from power tonight.

Judd Legum at Popular Information:
In an effort to overturn the results of November's election, Jefferson Griffin, a Republican candidate for the North Carolina Supreme Court, is asking state election officials to throw out more than 60,000 ballots. Among the voters being targeted by Griffin's protest are the parents of his Democratic opponent, Allison Riggs.
The contest between Griffin and Riggs was very close. The initial count showed Riggs with a lead of 734 votes out of 5.5 million cast. Griffin then exercised his legal right to request a machine recount of all ballots. After that recount, Riggs was still ahead by the same margin. Griffin has now requested a second recount of the ballots, this time by hand. Under North Carolina's procedures, there will first be a hand recount of 3% of the ballots cast. If the North Carolina Election Board determines that the partial hand recount revealed a sufficient number of discrepancies to suggest the outcome could change, a full hand recount will take place. There is nothing particularly unusual about requesting recounts in close elections. But Griffin is also taking a page out of President-elect Donald Trump's playbook and claiming that tens of thousands of votes were cast illegally. Griffin's campaign sent postcards to the voters whose ballots it is seeking to invalidate, alerting them of the protest. [...]
Riggs' campaign says the "postcards have sowed confusion, anger, and frustration among voters who cast their ballots in good faith to make their voices heard." Among those receiving a postcard notifying them that their vote was under protest were Riggs' parents. Most of the challenges, including the challenges to the votes cast by Riggs' parents, are related to claims that voter registrations are invalid because they do not contain a driver's license or partial Social Security number. A federal law enacted in 2002 required this information to be collected on voter registration forms. But some North Carolina voters may have registered before the law went into effect. The lack of that information in a North Carolina voter database does not invalidate a ballot.
There are many other reasons a North Carolina voter's record may lack this information, including "clerical error from a county election official who did not enter that information in the system even though it was included on the physical form." Further, one form used in the state, which has since been updated, did not make it clear that voters should provide the information when registering. Regardless, registered voters in North Carolina were required to provide identification before voting. A federal judge appointed by Trump rejected a similar effort to kick these voters off the rolls before Election Day. Now, Griffin's campaign is recycling these arguments after the election is complete to overturn the results. Many eligible North Carolina voters have been caught in Griffin's dragnet and had their votes questioned.
This is just a pathetic Republican effort to invalidate a Democrat who won her race fair and square.

Humanity vs Evil
The difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is that Trump’s flaws come from a disordered personality and from hatred. Kamala’s flaws come from her humanity. She is human. She is real. She is compassionate and courageous and yeah she did flub up a few interviews as vice president. Because she is a good and genuine human being. She’s been accused of not knowing where she stands because she stands out by not giving the simple easy answers that we crave. She understands the nuance to important issues. Most things are not all or nothing. That is a cognitive bias that all human beings are prone to, but we must fight it. All you have to do to understand who Kamala Harris is, is to read her book. She cares deeply for others and she cares deeply for diversity and justice. When she falls down, because she is human, she fights and gets back up. The things she is criticized for, her joy, her laughter, her occasionally imperfect interviews, her complex view of issues etc., are all things that prove her humanity. We need her leadership. America is a beautiful and wonderful place but we have our skeletons. We have our prejudices. We need to fight them. We need to move towards unity.
Donald Trump has abandoned his humanity a long time ago. I’d argue he abandoned it when Barack Obama became president. He believed his birth certificate conspiracy would have prevented a black man from becoming president, and it didn’t. He knew it was a racist conspiracy. His own mother was an immigrant. It wasn’t about Obama’s father being an immigrant. It was about the color of his skin.
Let’s make the right choice this November. Let’s choose unity. Let’s choose cohesion. Let’s choose justice. Let’s choose a person who does genuinely care about our economic well being.

Trump doesn't want voters to be reminded of his disastrous responses to hurricanes. Trumpnesia may have caused many to forget how he threw paper towels at Puerto Rican victims of Hurricane Maria or how he used a Sharpie marker to try to change the path of Hurricane Dorian.
So to muddy the waters, Trump has been spewing a firehose of falsehoods about Hurricane Helene.
A few of Trump's lies fact checked.
Monday: Trump falsely claims Biden hasn’t answered calls from Georgia’s governor It was immediately clear that Trump’s claim was false. Kemp, a Republican, told reporters earlier Monday that he had spoken with Biden the day prior — and that it was Kemp who had initially missed a call from Biden, not the other way around.
Trump himself has a record of problematic phone calls with Georgia state officials.
Monday: Trump cites baseless ‘reports’ about anti-Republican bias in the North Carolina response Republican South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster said at a Tuesday press conference that federal assistance had “been superb,” noting that Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had both called and told him to let them know whatever the state needed. McMaster also said FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell had called.
The lies only get bigger...
Thursday: Trump falsely claims Harris spent ‘all her FEMA money’ on housing illegal migrants First, there is zero basis for Trump’s suggestion that the Biden administration is running some sort of scheme to get undocumented immigrants to vote illegally in the 2024 election. Voting by noncitizens is a felony. Second, there is zero basis for claiming that FEMA disaster assistance money was stolen — by anyone, let alone Harris personally — for the housing of migrants.
^^^ That one ranks with the lies Trump and Vance are spreading about Haitian Americans eating pets in Ohio.
Friday: Trump falsely claims $1 billion was ‘stolen’ from FEMA for migrants and has gone ‘missing’ Though Trump’s Thursday claim about FEMA money and migrants had already been debunked by Friday, Trump repeated the claim to reporters at least twice on Friday — and then said it again at a Friday night town hall event in North Carolina.
It's never necessary for Trump to have proof of something. He just makes shit up to further his orgies of disinformation.
Saturday: Trump falsely claims the federal government is only giving $750 to people who lost their homes Trump’s claim is wrong. As FEMA explained earlier in the week on social media andon a web page it created to combat misinformation about the response, $750 is merely the immediate, upfront aid survivors can get to cover basic, pressing needs like food, water, baby formula and emergency supplies. Survivors are also eligible to apply for additional forms of assistance, such as to pay for temporary housing and home repairs, that can be worth thousands of dollars; the current maximum amount for home repair assistance, for example, is $42,500.
For people poor at math, the difference between $750 and $42,500 is $41,750. And I don't think the $750 is deducted from the eventual $42,500.
Saturday: Trump falsely claims there are ‘no helicopters, no rescue’ in North Carolina  This claim about North Carolina is false. There have been numerous government and private helicopters and other aircraft involved in rescue and aid efforts in North Carolina, though some residents died before they could be rescued and a significant number of residents have remained missing or stranded for days. The North Carolina National Guard announced Thursday that its own air assets had “completed 146 flight missions, resulting in the rescue of 538 people and 150 pets.”  The Washington Post reported Friday [ ... ] CNN reported Saturday that air traffic over western North Carolina had increased 300% over the past seven days due to hurricane relief efforts, according to Becca Gallas, director of North Carolina’s Division of Aviation. The state said in an official update Saturday: “A total of 53 search and rescue teams from North Carolina and beyond, consisting of more than 1,600 personnel have conducted search and rescue operations during this event. Search and rescue teams have interacted with over 5,400 people, including assists, evacuations and rescues.”
If Trump says something, it is almost certainly untrue. He is hoping to be heard by low information voters who get news from social media and other unreliable sources. It is up to you to step up your interaction with any such people who you may know personally. Send them articles and vids from reputable sources. Elections are won or lost one voter at a time.
A reminder you can give people: Trump made over 30,000 lies during his four years in office. He is not a reliable source of information.
Washington Post counts 30,573 false or misleading claims in four years by Trump
Would you buy a used car or a second-hand presidency from Weird Donald? 🤨
