Things I do to take care of myself
Inspired by @theambitiouswoman
Hello girlies! On this blog I'm going to write down all the habits I do to take care of my self. These ones I have been practicing them since a long time and I know they maintain me healthy, happy, balanced and stress free. I hope I can inspire you to discover the habits that make you feel your best and start doing some of the things I do!
My habits
Have a morning and night routine to follow
Sleep 8 hours on a consistent schedule
Eat at least one fruit a day, along three healthy meals and drink enough water
Pray when I wake up
Do yoga in the morning and meditate at night
Do my skincare 2 times daily (morning and night)
Have an "everything shower" 2x times per week
Listen to positive affirmations in the morning
Dress up pretty every time I'm going out
Listen a podcast daily
Read one chapter of a book daily
Dedicate one hour for introspective journaling and healing yoga + meditation 2xtimes per week
Use less than 4 hours my phone (15 minutes max on every social media app)
Unfollow any account that doesn't make me feel good with myself or consume content that doesn't inspire me
Study a language 30 minutes - 1 hour 3x times per week
Spend time with my loved ones during the week
Write down a journal entry before sleep
Be productive and focus on my tasks to be free the more time possible
Make a daily to-do list
Maintain my personal space clean
Take my daily supplements after breakfast
Look from time to time my vision boards
Dedicate time to prepare my meals and make lunch for university (instead of spending)
Keep track of my financial movementes
Focus on living in the present and be carefree about life
Smile, be kind and maintain the calm with people
On my free time do things I love ( like blogging, gaming, watch YT, etc)
Be mindful of all the sensorial stimulation (use less screens and earphones)
Respect when my body needs to rest
Have a optimistic mindset that works in my favor
Play with and take care of my pets (my happy pills)
Have a "Sunday reset" routine dedicated to deep cleaning, laundry, weekly review and planning, self-care, etc

Dealing with guilt and shame around age regression
I've been dealing with some guilt towards my regression the past couple days. I have been feeling self conscious and embarrassed about my regression and it's been making it harder to relax and let myself get into little space. I took some time this afternoon to brain storm a few things I can do and I wanted to share!!
🐸 Write it out! I have a "worry" journal. I set a 15 minute timer for myself and just let myself write whatever has been bothering me. After the 15 minutes is over I close the journal and throw it across my room.
🐌 You could also write a letter to someone talking about your feelings. This doesn't mean you have to give them that letter!! Sometimes it is soothing to write to someone who hurt you and then rip it up into tiny little pieces afterwards. Another option is to write a letter to your CG about how much you appreciate them and their support :)
🐸 Positive affirmations! I keep a sticky note on my chore chart of a few affirmations I can say to myself when I am worked up.
🐌 Meditation/Mindfulness. You can do ones that are made for kids if it helps! There are also kids toys that are geared at helping little ones slow down and take some deep breaths. My Furby has a relax mode where he guides me to do some breathing. It is both silly and relaxing enough to distract my brain for a little bit.
🐸 Ask your CG to write you a letter you can read when you are dealing with tough emotions. If you have a fictional CG you can write yourself a note pretending to be them! There are also people out there who will write you letters from your CG. Even if you don't have a CG, you can write a letter to yourself. When you are feeling big, write a letter of all the kind things you wish you could say to little you.
🐌 Age regression can be part of a healthy coping toolbox. You are not doing anything wrong by regressing. It is okay to regress. It is okay to take time for you. It is okay to do something that is just for your own happiness.
🐸 You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to be messy and noisy and playful. You deserve love and care. You deserve to have your needs met. I'm sorry others in your life let you down and made you feel this way. But it will be okay, and we can heal together, I promi.
🐌 Remember; it is okay to take a break from voluntary regression for any reason. Your stuffies and dollies will understand and they will be there for you when you return. ♥️

If you are continually dealing with feelings of guilt and shame, don't be afraid to reach out to someone. It can hard to unlearn these sorts of things on your own. You aren't weak for needing extra support.

Something that works for me and kind of an experiment.
I have discussed methods and stuff and how people have also told me that you need to find what works for you. But there's only one way to get to the void: complete relaxation.
So this is something that I'm doing, and this is something I'd like you to try!
First - I wanna start with a meditation. (Grounding, clearing, calming etc). Great Meditations on YouTube is my favorite meditation channel because they have 5, 10, 15, 20, and longer meditations. They have a variety of all kinds of meditations including a void meditation which is perfect to be relaxed. I'll link some of my favorite ones down here:

Healing the void space
Secondly - Now that I've done a meditation, I wanna do a quick body scan ( 30 seconds or a minute). Get into a comfortable position (doesn't matter which one, people use starfish cause your body is supported) but it should a position where you won't move.
Lastly - this is the most fun part - I'll put on this vid Void Hypnosis
and as I am listening to it, I'll be doing some breathwork:
Count to 10, then when you get to 10 hold your breath for 10 seconds. Count to 20, then when you get to 20 hold your breath for 20 seconds
so on until your body has gone numb. You can also just do wim hof's breathing but holding your breath for long periods of time makes your body go to sleep which is what we want. You don't need to affirm because the hypnosis is already doing that for you.
If you get distracted after a while, just keep being distracted. It doesn't matter cause you've already relaxed your body and are in a trance.
Remember, you are in the void. Even right now, you are in the void.
Please do let me know how it goes for you! And I suggest using youtube to make a playlist and adding the hypnosis video twice. You can do it if you have a computer. Log into your youtube account - make a playlist - add your meditation - copy the link of the hypnosis and click on the little three dots on the left underneath the title of the playlist - click add videos and paste the URL in the search box then click done - do it again or however many times you want that video in your playlist.

Reward yourself for all of your wins.
Meditation.
Do what your childhood you wanted to do.
Do the Ho'pono prayer.
Talk with your inner child.
See one of your childhood photo and talk with her/him and let the emotions go out.
3. Self Care
Drink more water.
Eat a little healthy.
Keep fast twice in a month.
Do your nails.
Hair care.
Ice your face.
Do some home remedies like face packs.
Exercise or Yoga

First of all, lemme remind you that Looks don't even matter!!
How you can be the best of you?
"CONFIDENCE" comes first! It's the vibe that screams "HEY I'M CONFIDENT IN MYSELF, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHATEVER YOU THINK OF ME!" Have confidence in every tiniest thing you do.
Whenever you're in public or wherever just remember:
1. YOU'RE THE MAIN CHARACTER
2. YOU'RE THE BEST.
3. YOU'RE THAT GIRL.
4. YOU'RE A WINNER.

If you have knowledge than you are going to be successful no matter what! Keep reading books and gain the knowledge about different topics. Atleast for 15 to 20 minutes you should read a book.
💕DRESS WELL
When I say dress well it doesn't mean to wear expensive clothes. I mean wear what makes you feel confident and pretty. For example: If oversized outfits make you feel damn cool then wear it and invest in buying oversized outfits. Just wear clean clothes.
REMINDER:
You're BEAUTIFUL.
You're Worth it.
You can do anything you want to do.

THE VICTIM: PLUTO
Did you know that other planets have taken parts from Pluto that's why he is so little. Just like how people take things from 8th housers. They are victims, no one really cares about them. They have been left behind. Let down. Used. Been buried.
It is the farthest planet from the Sun. Actually it's not even a planet anymore. I dot want to be optimistic and say "my phoenix it is okay you will transform yourself like a butterfly." Yes you can do that but at the same time you will lost a lot of time. You won't have any power. You have to deal with the pain. It is going to be really hard. In fact I bet its really hard.
It is 12th from the 9th house. The 12th house is what we lost. We lost the 9th house. 8th house is luck, God, mercy. We lost those things. We are the people whom God has let down. We have to make our own way. You have to heal your traumas. Do journaling, meditate, go to therapy.
For people who have been traumatized, I would start with 15 minutes because there is a big possibility that you want to do things but can't act on it. It's like sleep paralysis.

quality of life‧₊˚✩彡🎐

HEALTH : ur health is easily the most important of these categories and ur own health must be prioritized in every thing that u do. health is wealth, and without health, ur quality of life will be very low.
eat foods that are good for u and that nourish you, pay close attention to ur body and how it reacts to certain foods cuz everyones body is different and u should have a vast knowledge on your own body and how it works. eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. a helpful ratio in eating that i like to use as a basic guideline is (80% of the time, eat healthier foods and 20% of the time eat what u crave)
stay hydrated and drink between 1-3 liters of water a day, about 15 minutes before u go to sleep drink a couple glasses of water, drinking water before bed literally CLEANSES you, it improves ur skin, helps ur heart pump blood more efficiently, and improves blood pressure and heart rate, which affects ur quality of sleep in a positive way
to continue on the note of ur sleep u should be sleeping 8-10 hours of sleep a night. sleep deprivation is NOT cute, so please opt to sleep at an earlier time and rise at an earlier time as well
aside from what u consume, take care of ur health by taking supplements, drinking lots of teas, sleeping enough, stretching ur body, dry brushing, lymphatic drainage massage etc
MENTAL WELL BEING : september is suicide prevention month so i feel like now is an AMAZING time to bring up mental health and ways that u can improve ur mental state of being.
i always talk about self concept and i always will because self concept truly is the foundation of everything. ur whole entire life is literally ur mindset. keeping a positive outlook, meditating and practicing gratitude sounds cliche but it does wonders for ur happiness.
understand that its okay to NOT feel happy 24/7 because happiness is simply a feeling, and feelings are fleeting. they dont stay forever. i talked about the science of dopamine and what it does to ur brain in a previous post but some things that u can do to improve ur happiness levels are :
cutting back on social media and screen time in order to experience the world around you
surrounding urself with people who build you up
consuming social media that impacts ur mental health in a positive way
if u can, invest in therapy and if u can't do some shadow work, and based on ur discoveries with shadow work use the resources that u have (like youtube) to learn how to heal from ur trauma properly. healing isn't an overnight process, its a journey but it will DRASTICALLY improve ur quality of life.
find ways to cope and deal with ur emotions in a healthy way if ur going through a hard time, if ur going thru a REALLY hard time please go and seek help bcuz u dont deserve to live in a constant state of sadness, and if u ever need encouragement my inbox is always open 💗
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE : ur physical appearance can greatly impact ur quality of life also so here's some way to maximize ur looks:
sleep, drink water, and walk everyday - the best way to be pretty is to be healthy so make sure ur taking care of ur nutrition and ur sleep schedule
skincare - build a solid skincare routine and be consistent with it, do ur skincare RELIGIOUSLY 2x a day and dont touch ur face with ur hands unless ur washing ur face. double cleanse and dont forget to apply spf <33
haircare - learn what ur hair texture is and watch influencers or people who share the same hair texture as u and watch how they take care of their hair. once u know ur hair type then ur hair will thrive and be healthy
clean nails, long or short its all a matter of preference but keep ur nails clean and done nicely
wearing clothes that fit and complement ur body nicely, get ur clothes tailored to fit ur body comfortably
take good care of ur hair to keep it healthy, and learn how to do ur hair in cute hairstyles.
lastly POSTURE will tie all of this together, ofc these categories were rly broad but u can totally look into them more to maximize ur own looks and beauty
i know dear peachie on youtube has AMAZING makeup tips especially if ur a beginner she can teach u a lot
GENERAL : this is just a broad category of helpful things that u can do to improve the quality of ur life.
manifestation : when u learn about the way that the world works and operates and how ur mind creates ur own reality u will literally step into the power of knowing that you create. start committing to ur dream life and learning about law of assumption
finding little things to be happy about : i feel my happiest when im consciously living. and what i mean about this most of us just live our lives on autopilot out of necessity or habit, but paying closer attention to our lives and our experiences and romanticizing our lives will improve the quality of ur life
decision making : make decisions that will give the quality of life that u wanna live. for the future, make decisions that are good for ur future self instead of just focusing on making decisions that only look good in that one moment. ofc this differs depending on the situation but make an effort to make smart decisions that'll set the foundation for ur future

Our full moon 🌕 is here in aries ♈ on 17 October 2024.
So we are already starting to feel the energies.
Ritual:
Sit in the moon on the 17 or you can start this ritual from 15 till 19. Take a paper and write your wish in present form. Also do the scripting regarding this wish. After writing and scripting this wish read the wish out loud with emotions 11 times. Visualise the wish for 5 min. After visualising fold the paper three times in your direction. And sprinkle the salt on the paper and put the wish on the plate. Do the wolf meditation from youtube or by your self atleast 15 minutes ( ps.wolf meditation is important). After meditation burn the paper in which we sprinkle the salt with the candle🕯️. Blow the ashes into air . If you have light the candle from the start then let it burn completely. candle is not important. But if are going to use candle then for self love and care use pink 🩷 candle 🕯️,red ♥️ candle 🕯️ for love. Purple 💜 for spiritual abilities. Green 💚 for money. Orange 🧡 for wisdom and studies. Again red ♥️ for fast manifestion. White 🤍 for peace, healing and if you don't have any colour one then use 🤍.

Hiya Dreamers! 💖 So I found a simpler challenge from dreambunnynotes that I’m switching to because it’s more focused. I already started doing this challenge this week and I’m liking it so far. I always seem to jump from 0 to 100 lol. That’s something I really need to work on! 😅 I will update every Saturday (if I can’t then on Sunday I’ll update)
my chosen habits:
* - Red light therapy
* - Meditation
* - Walking
my goals and why's:
* habit one: The red therapy light that my family has is medical grade and can help with many different types of healing, so I want to take advantage of that. I don’t have a very consistent schedule with it, I try to go on it at least three times a week but everyday is more ideal.
* habit two: I love meditating, I just have a hard time getting started and sticking to it consistently. I use meditation mainly for spiritual reasons and I visit my spirit guides for lessons and advice. I’d like to build up my mental stamina to be able to connect more clearly with them.
* habit three: To loose weight and to increase my stamina. I’d also love to feel more confident in my body.
my habit energy tiers:
habit one:
* low energy: Go on for only 15 minutes
* medium energy: Go on for only 20 minutes
* high energy: Have multiple treatments throughout the day on different parts of my body
habit two:
* low energy: Only meditate for 5 minutes
* medium energy: Only meditate for 10 minutes
* high energy: Only meditate for 30 minutes (this is when I will contact my spirit guides)
habit three:
* low energy: Go on treadmill for 5 minutes
* medium energy: Go for a walk around the building complex for 10 minutes
* high energy: Go for a walk down the street for 20 minutes

hi everyone! welcome back :)
i hope you're having a wonderful day wherever you are. it's raining and snowing where i am and i'm hoping it just turns to snow at some point. i started working out today for the first time in a few months and wow, i was humbled. lol. i am a little out of shape but that's okay. i'm taking baby steps to get back into it and it feels good right now. i'm back to give you all a reading and without further ado, here are your piles. please take a moment to meditate on the question and pick the pile that draws you in the most. i hope you enjoy the reading :)

immediately, i am getting a creative energy from this pile. the first thing that comes to mind is something with fashion and texture. i think you might enjoy thrifting/shopping and putting outfits together. or putting outfits together like in a mood board arrangement with color coordination. you might also have an eye for thrifting and seeing something in clothes that others might now. for example, you might be the type to see an outdated shirt that doesn't really follow the trends pattern and cut wise but you play around with it and make it fit. you make it fit for you and make it look good. you bring it back to life. it feels very detailed and tailored but very beautiful as well. also very venusian. like it has to be aesthetically pleasing. there's something different about the way you do things creatively that stands out but i'm getting you might not see it that way. you might be hard on yourself for the way you do things because it doesn't follow the way of everyone else. it doesn't fit in with the trends. i'm getting that you're quirks are unique to you. just as you might not do things the way someone else does it, they won't be able to do things the way you do it. we're all born different and come ingrained with our own set of experiences, skills, and strengths. don't be afraid of letting yours shine.
i think the way you can give yourself love might be to embrace your individuality within your creations more. there is nothing wrong with the way you make your art and you'll attract the people that appreciate it just as you do when you embrace it as well. i'm also seeing something about the outdoors as well? perhaps your body and soul loves the outdoors more than you think it does and would love to go out in the sun, play in the water, or go out for hikes and walks. something along those lines. i think the earth and outdoors can provide more healing and replenishment for us more than we think and even just a 15 minute walk a day would be healthy and loving <3

are you being totally honest with yourself about something? i'm getting that you're not. the energy here is that you're very off balance and tired i would say. overburdened with work and the responsibilities of life and i dont think you know when to say enough. i see deep down that you're harboring a lot of resentment towards whatever the source of this is but you're good at keeping your cool. you keep it reserved and don't let it out which, yes, in some cases might be a good thing but, in the long run won't be so good for you lovey.
i understand that it's difficult to press pause on our responsibilities such as work and bills. but i think the way you can give back to yourself is to start constructing some more boundaries for yourself between work and your personal life. you need more personal time for yourself. time to relax and rejuvenate. if that's not possible, i see writing is also on the table as well. i think you should try this regardless and discuss how you're feeling each day, describe what your day was like, describe how you would like your day to go etc. i enjoy writing and just letting my entire thoughts write themselves on the paper without too much thought. it helps me to see everything clearly and understand how i am feeling. i also find that i will feel better after writing like this too and it might benefit you as well. i also think you need to be honest with yourself about what you can and cannot handle. don't take on projects and extra work because you're worried about what people might think if you say no. screw that. you matter more. your self preservation matters more. prioritize yourself. there is nothing wrong with that at the end of the day and if all you can do is the bare minimum. do that. you're doing your best and that's all that matters <3

pile 3, i'm getting similar energy from pile 2 here. your energy is overburdened and heavy but i think for different reasons. i feel that you might not celebrate your individuality and kindness enough. you might be the kind of person that is more than willing to give kindness and love to others. you're always celebrating other people but perhaps don't match that energy with yourself. and i think the way you can give back love to yourself is shower yourself with love and let yourself shine more! i'm getting some venusian energy here for you and i think you may need to embody that more. i think you could do well with romanticizing your routine. some things that i am seeing for you is giving yourself more baths and perhaps adorning them with flowers such as roses, oils, salts etc. maybe lighting some warm scented candels while you're in the bath as well would be nice. i think you could also benefit from some loving affirmations to yourself and mirror work. saying affirmations to yourself before bed or saying them to yourself in the mirror. i don't know if you're the type to do your makeup at all but if that's something you enjoy, i think you should use that to your advantage and play with it more everyday. it's fun to be expressive through makeup and maybe this is something that would help bring you out of your shell.
i will be honest pile 3, your energy is difficult to read. it's reminding me of the hermit energy a little bit so i am surprised that this card didn't come out in your spread. but i do see you hiding yourself quite a bit and you're on guard with your personality. but you have a vibrant one lovey. you're not meant to hide. its hard to constantly hide who you truly are and i have to emphasize that it will hurt you in the long run. don't be hard on yourself and know that you're loved and will continue to find people who love you wherever you may go. you bring unique things to the group that others may not possess.

As-salamu alaykum! I’m not sure if you have answered an ask like this before but what advice would you give for someone who listens to music a lot, and also maladaptive daydreams? and not being able to be consistent with their prayers? I hope your doing well🫶
wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah :)
oh i struggle a lot with maladaptive daydreaming too and music does make it worse. if listening to music is a habit and something you want to stop then it's likely not going to be an overnight and something you can stop immediately. you can try weaning yourself off over time.
first start with the type of music you listen to. if you listen to explicit music, change that. listen to cleaner stuff first. when that's definitely changed and is a habit, then look at when you listen to music and start analysing. do you listen as you're walking outside? then leave your earphones at home and make it a plan to not listen to it outside to slowly get yourself used to walking and travelling without it. if you feel like you need to listen to something outside, then replace it with something else. listen to a podcast. or the qur'an. or do you listen at home and walk around or when you're cooking, etc? try and initially replace it with something else to get yourself used to it. then eventually, do all those things--walking, cooking, being at home--without listening to anything at all. no music, no podcasts, no nasheeds, nothing. get yourself used to the silence and nothing going in your ears. it's a process and something you'll have to be determined and disciplined with as getting rid of habits isn't something easily done. especially media habits (music, excessive tv/netflix/youtube, addicted to social media/your phone).
with maladaptive daydreaming, i struggle with this too cos i will literally start making up scenarios anywhere and won't be in the moment at all. this has affected the conversations i've had with my friends and family for such a long time and has prevented me from enjoying the moment i'm in. so the answer was obvious: i needed to learn to stay more present.
i've been practising mindfulness/meditation to help with this. people often think meditation goes against islam but it really depends on the type you're doing. mindfulness meditation is where you focus on your breathing and listen to your breath going in and out through your nose, feeling your belly rising and falling as you do so. as you do this, your mind will naturally start to wander and think about different things, so then you keep bringing your attention back to your breathing every time that happens. it takes practise and months to finally be more grounded but just doing this for 10-15 minutes every single day means that you're able to bring your attention back to the present moment much easier and get yourself out of your daydreams/your head much easier as the days go by. i heavily reccommend doing this, i follow guided meditations on youtube. this is a really good guided one on youtube :) it has helped me so much in life it's unbelievable.
as for staying consistent with prayers, i would first read the full translation of salah if you don't know what it is you're saying. this way, you'll see how beneficial it is for you with every part of salat. it's a healing for your mind, body, soul--everything. research the importance of salah beyond 'you have to' and understand the immense benefits behind praying. maybe i'll make a post on this too eventually but in the meantime, just go onto google or youtube and find out why salah is so important. you'll find something that resonates with you. i found this reddit post that asks the same question, i definitely recommend checking that out as there's a lot of info on there that you'll find useful from people who struggle with the same thing.
another thing that helps is to revolve your life around your religion rather than your religion around your life. when you plan your days, write salah timings first and then revolve everything else around that to the best of your ability. this can seem hard or even impossible with school or work but when you try to just sit down and at least try, i'm sure you'll be surprised :)
also, when it comes to being consistent, discipline is key. this is where the behavioural principle comes in:
as you can see, our thoughts affect our feelings which affects our behaviour or our thoughts affect our behaviour which affects our feelings or our feelings affect our thoughts which affects our behaviour
... you get the point. for eg, you're feeling lazy, so you think lazily so you act lazy or you're thinking 'i'm so lazy', so you feel lazy so you act lazy
but we rarely think about how our behaviour affects our thoughts and feelings too. this is why when people are feeling or thinking sad, people say 'just do something happy' which obviously makes them feel annoyed. but research shows that it really sometimes is as simple as that (unless ofc you're diagnosed with depression in which you'll need help from a trained professional). my point is, rather than acting from your feelings or your thoughts, act from your actions! pray and then you'll start thinking and feeling like someone who prays. because you will be. it takes immense discipline. force yourself to act and do it no matter how you're feeling or thinking. if you're feeling guilty for missing a prayer, force yourself to make it up and do the next one. if you're feeling lazy, force yourself to get up. if you think 'i'm really lazy', still force yourself to get up. act from your actions. act like someone who prays by praying and your thoughts and feelings will naturally follow (scientifically proven). i learnt this from a book called 'the emotion trap' by siri helle. very much recommend :)
personally, when i'm feeling lazy and thinking 'oh i'll just pray later' and want to continue whatever it is i'm doing, i think about how that's shirk and i'm putting whatever that is above Allah. for eg, if i'm watching netflix and think 'oh i'll pray later' that means that i'm putting netflix above Allah which is shirk. and i ask myself, 'is netflix higher than Allah?' the very question repulses me so i pause it and force myself to go and do wudhu. same thing when i'm scrolling. 'is twitter higher than Allah?' 'is this book higher than Allah?' ask yourself that too.

Take a Journey into Your True Self
The start of a new year is the perfect time to kick off a New Year Challenge. While there's nothing wrong with making a New Year resolution, some people find they have more success with a challenge. The main difference between a resolution and a challenge is specificity--a resolution "to rediscover your true self" is overly vague, while a daily challenge to journey within and explore your inner world for 15 minutes is specific and achievable. The journey within is the most profound and challenging adventure we can embark on. It's a pilgrimage that takes us deep into the core of our being, beyond the noise of daily life and into the silence of our true self.
The world's great spiritual traditions teach that it is necessary to still the mind and enter into inner silence so that the true self can emerge. In silence you can hear your own inner voice and discover the truth within. When there is inner silence, there is time for deep introspection and to allow the true self to speak. Silence is the source of everything; the gateway to inner knowing. Silence creates the resonance of contemplation, insight and direct communication with the source.
The best way to still the mind and find inner silence is to develop a spiritual practice. A spiritual practice is the regular performance of actions and activities undertaken for the purpose of inducing spiritual experiences and cultivating spiritual development. A spiritual practice is something you do every single day that grounds you in your own truth by connecting you with your essential self. A spiritual activity might be dancing, drumming, chanting, meditating, praying, doing yoga or tai chi. Regular spiritual practice fosters deeper self-awareness, inner peace, compassion, non-attachment, integration and connectedness with others.
The Spiritual Practice of Ecstasy
Shamanism is the spiritual practice of ecstasy. Ecstasy is defined as a mystic, prophetic or poetic trance. Practitioners enter altered states of consciousness in order to perceive and interact with the inner world of the self. The act of entering an ecstatic trance state is called the soul flight or shamanic journey.
Rhythmic drumming is a simple and effective way to induce ecstatic trance states. When a drum is played at an even tempo of three to four beats per second for at least fifteen minutes, most people can journey successfully even on their first attempt. Transported by the driving beat of the drum; the practitioner journeys to the inner planes of consciousness to obtain personal revelation and spiritual experience.
The essence of shamanism is the experience of direct revelation from within. Shamanism is about remembering, exploring and developing the true self. Shamanism places emphasis on the individual, of breaking free and discovering one's own uniqueness in order to bring something new back to the community. Shamanic practice heightens the ability of perception and enables you to see into the deeper realms of the self. Once connected with your inner self, you can find help, healing, and a continual source of guidance. To practice shamanism is to reconnect with your deepest core values and your highest vision of who you are and why you are here.
What Is a Shamanic Journey?
A shamanic journey is a meditative practice that involves entering a trance-like state to connect with the realm of the unconscious deep within each of us. Guided by rhythmic drumming or other repetitive sounds, this practice allows you to access your unconscious mind and connect with spirit guides, power animals or other symbols of insight and intuition. At its core, the journey is a method of self-discovery, healing, and reconnection with your authentic self.
Basically, shamanic journeying is a way of communicating with your inner or spirit self and retrieving information. Your inner self is in constant communication with all aspects of your environment, seen and unseen. You need only journey within to find answers to your questions. You should have a question or objective in mind from the start. After the journey, you must then interpret the meaning of your trance experience.
Why Take a Shamanic Journey?
Rediscovering your true self through shamanic journeying can bring profound benefits:
Clarity of Purpose: By peeling back the layers of societal conditioning, you can uncover your core values and desires.
Emotional Healing: Journeying helps process and release stored emotions, allowing you to heal wounds and traumas.
Connection with Inner Wisdom: The practice connects you to your intuition, offering guidance for life's challenges.
Preparing for the Journey
Set Your Intention
Every shamanic journey begins with a clear intention. Your intention acts as a compass, guiding you through the journey. Ask yourself:
What do I hope to discover?
What questions about myself am I seeking to answer?
2. Create Sacred Space
Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. Dim the lights, light candles, or burn incense to set a calming ambiance. A sacred space helps you feel safe and grounded during the journey.
3. Choose Your Shamanic Journey Music
To enter a trance state and support your shamanic journeys, you will need a shamanic drumming recording. You are welcome to listen to my "15 Minute Solo Drumming With Callback," which you can stream for free on my Bandcamp music store. Headphones enhance the immersive experience.
4. Relax and Center Yourself
Sit or lie down comfortably. Take a few deep breaths, allowing tension to leave your body. Visualization exercises, such as imagining roots extending from your feet into the earth, can help ground you.
Taking the Shamanic Journey
Enter the Trance State
Put on your headphones and begin listening to the drumming recording. Close your eyes and focus on the rhythmic sound of the drumming. Allow your mind to relax and let go of analytical thoughts. Imagine yourself descending into a symbolic place--such as a cave or animal burrow--representing the gateway to your inner world. Imagination is your portal to the inner world. Internal imagery enables you to perceive and connect with the inner realms. If a person wants to retrieve information or find their authentic self, "imagining what to look for" is the first step in achieving any result.
2. Meet Your Guides
Once you're in this meditative state, call upon your spirit guides or helping spirits. These may appear as animals, ancestors, or archetypal figures. Trust your intuition--whatever you see is significant to your journey. The images we see during a shamanic journey are a combination of our imagination and information conveyed to us by the spirits. Our imagination gives the journey a "container," which helps us to understand the messages we receive. It provides us with a way to understand and articulate the experience for ourselves and to others.
3. Ask Questions and Explore
Engage with the symbols or beings you encounter. Ask them questions related to your intention, and listen carefully to their responses. You may also be shown visions, memories, or metaphors that hold personal meaning.
4. Return with Insights
When hear the sound of the drum callback, or you feel ready, begin your return journey. Thank your guides and retrace your steps back to the present moment. Take your time transitioning out of the trance.
Integrating the Experience
After your journey, spend time reflecting on what you've learned. Write down any messages, symbols, or emotions you experienced. Consider how these insights align with your life and how you can apply them to rediscover your true self.
Tips for a Successful Journey
Practice Patience: Like any skill, shamanic journeying improves with practice.
Trust the Process: Even if your first journey feels unclear, trust that your unconscious mind is working to reveal what you need.
Seek Guidance: If you feel stuck, consider working with an experienced shamanic practitioner or attending a guided journey workshop.
Rediscovering Your True Self
A shamanic journey is not a one-time event; it's a continuous process of peeling back layers to reveal the essence of who you are. Each journey deepens your understanding of yourself, helping you align more closely with your purpose and truth. By taking the time to journey within, you nurture your soul and forge a stronger connection with your authentic self. Embrace this ancient practice as a modern tool for self-discovery, and let it guide you back to the person you were always meant to be.

YOGA IS ALSO ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS AND HELPFUL METHOD TO HEAL YOUR INNER SELF. IT ALSO INCREASES INTUITION POWER AND ACTIVATES 7 CHAKRAS.
3. TALK TO YOUR INNER CHILD

MIRROR WORK IS ALSO VERY HELPFUL WHEN IT COMES TO HEAL YOURSELF OR FOR IMPROVING SELF CONCEPT. EVERYDAY IN MORNING AND BEFORE GOING TO BED LOOK AT YOURSELF IN MIRROR, SAY AFFIRMATIONS AND JUST STARE AT YOUR OWN EYES WITH ENDLESS LOVE FILLED IN IT.
6. POSITIVE SELF TALK
ALWAYS DO POSITIVE SELF TALK.KEEP AFFIRMING. JUST KEEP TALKING POSITIVE ABOUT YOURSELF.
7. IDENTIFY THE TRIGGER
BE PRESENT. IDENTIFY THE TRIGGER OF TRAUMA. WHY YOU FEEL SAD, WHY YOU FEEL ANGRY, WHY YOU FEEL PAIN, WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL THOSE FEELINGS? IDENTIFY THE CAUSE. TRY REMEMBERING THE PAST OR THAT PARTICULAR SITUATION THAT MADE YOUR INNER CHILD HURT.
8. LET YOURSELF FEEL
AFTER IDENTIFYING THE TRIGGER, LET YOURSELF FEEL THOSE FEELINGS/EMOTIONS. CRY OUT. SCREAM OUT. LET YOURSELF FEEL IT DEEPLY. DON'T IGNORE OR AVOID THOSE FEELINGS.
9. IDENTIFY YOUR NEGATIVE THOUGHTS OR EMOTIONS
WHENEVER YOU THINK NEGATIVE OR FEEL NEGATIVE, IDENTIFY! AND TURN IT INTO POSITIVE THOUGHT OR FEELING. YOU CAN DO IT BY DOING YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS, YOU CAN AFFIRM OR JUST MEDITATE.
10. JOURNALING
JOURNAL DOWN YOUR THOUGHTS YOUR OR FEELINGS. WHATEVER YOU FEEL, WRITE IT DOWN ON A PAPER OR A DIARY. THIS HELPS IDENTIFYING THE CAUSE.
11. THERAPIST
IF NOTHING WORKS YOU CAN SEEK HELP TO A THERAPIST. THEY WILL GIVE YOU GUIDED PRACTICES.
12. LISTEN TO YOURSELF
LISTEN TO YOURSELF. OUR MIND ALWAYS TALKS WITH US. MIND KEEP ON THINKING. BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU TALK ABOUT YOURSELF AND LISTEN IT CAREFULLY. PRACTICE POSITIVE SELF TALK.
13. TALK TO A LOVED ONE
