A love letter to Haley Grayson

to honour her introduction into WFA canon, let me introduce you to my actual favourite DC character, the little three-legged pitbull (but i prefer her as a staffy) puppy...

Haley

god i could go on about bitewing so much but we'll give you the run down of her as she is iconic

so, haley was first introduced in Nightwing (2016) Issue 78, the first of Tom Taylor's run. she is being chased and tormented by some thugs in Blüdhaven and Dick saves her

he takes her home and tells babs he is taking her to the pound and babs is like "no you aren't" and she was right.

in issue 80, she makes her first journey to vigilante status by joining Tim as he goes to talk to the street kids

she then gets blessed with her codename by Tim in issue 81, giving us her two names, Haley and Bitewing

she mostly exists to be cute but hen in issue 87, she gets kidnapped!

who would be so cruel!

but dick and babs save her and we get a cute family photo

she's mostly just for cuteness for a while but she makes an appearance in issue 90, when dick's apartment is blown up and he goes to stay with wally. nothing important happens with her but i have to point it out

Then issue 98 happens

Nite-mite gives haley a cute matching outfit and she can talk!!!

so they go on an adventure and its super cute and haley saves the day of course

she makes a brief appearance in issue 100 but her next notable one is in issue 105, the wonderful first person issue

he appears again in 106 with gar and it is very cute

the other amazing haley moment is in the 2022 annual where we get this awesome dream sequence where haley is Bitewing again and she trashes the apartment. it's so good and so cute

TL;DR Haley is the best DC character and you cannot tell me otherwise

I'm currently working on trying to find locations for some of the known rooms and things inside Alfea, (at the moment specifically, I'm working on the kitchen and dining hall) before I put myself through floor plans again. So I thought I'd share what some of my working out looks like behind the scenes.

And why it might be a problem that Season 8 turned these flat topped towers:

Into these much shorter flat topped towers:

Because I'm currently fairly certain that was the dining hall in that upper half.

Trying to figure out where the dining hall is, isn't a one room tracking operation, because we know there's a kitchen, we've seen it, we've seen the Winx Club set fire to it with their negligence. You don't typically put a food making place far from the eating place, so tracking one, should help track the other.

We first see the kitchen in episode 105, when the girls are on dinner duty (or making a spell with potato peels and a magical back-flip if you're a 4kids truther), and during dinner prep they head back to their dorm to help Stella pick an outfit.

From their dorm, they're able to smell the smoke and react, racing to the kitchen before even the chef and Griselda arrive, though not by much in Griselda's case. (Also, Bloom uses the same spell Griselda does a few episodes later back on Earth in her house while cooking with Vanessa. Just saying.)

This means, or at least suggests that the kitchens are not only in the same building as their dorm, but reasonably close by.

When we return to the kitchen in episode 115 we actually have a little zoom around the rear tower and focus in on a spot above/behind the rear most dorm balcony on the building before phasing inside to the girls walking along a hall to the kitchen.

While the hallway is different between the two episodes, background continuity is not Winx Club's feature, but it does double down on the idea that the kitchen is in that building.

(In 105 the girls turn a corner into a short hallway, while in 115 it appears to be a long straight hallway with windows all along it. Though later in the episode the looking out view does look kindamuch the same as 105?)

Or at least one of the kitchens is in that building, I wouldn't be surprised to find out there are two. Or at least a smaller communal kitchen for the other mirrored building, so the girls don't have to go across campus for a midnight snack.

Further, although the exterior and interiors of the school don't always match up exactly, in several shots of the dining hall, we can see the six bays of tall windows. Now there is a chance they could just be windows from the middle floor, one of the balconied window sets, but the shape and compactness matches much more closely with the tower's rear facing window wall, the one that leads out onto the flat balcony.

The number of windows/bay divisions don't match up perfectly, but again, internal-external logic consistency isn't 100% at Alfea,

Additionally, in these shots from season two, we can see some smaller windows lining the upper sections of the wall opposite the window wall, which match up loosely with the windows on the rear towers, where they meet the roof of the dorm section.

We should also talk about sizes and room dimensions.

Based on the door below the smaller windows, the windows are at least three maybe four meters off the floor. The tables run about 5 meters.

Estimating for girls behind pillars, the most packed side holds 16 students, while the least packed has space for 13.

A quick bit of research into bench tables brought me some numbers.

The longest commercial tables I could find that came with suggested sizing by seat number suggested that for a 10 person table (4 on each long and 1 per end cap, so realistically for out count and 8 person table) would range between 2.2m, 2.6m, or 2.8m depending on how comfy or squished the seating is expected to be. Doubling those numbers to get tables to seat 16 max per side, we end up with tables ranging 4.4m, 5.2m, and 5.6m.

Doing a quick eyeball and stamp measurement, and given that the room isn't perfectly circular, but there is at least one (suspiciously straight) hallway outside it, I'd be okay saying that we're looking at a space with a rough diameter between 9 and 15 meters.

Finally, there's the thing that might be a door opposite the teachers' dais, which I think might match up with the external door on the tower that leads up a protruding staircase to a spiral staircase that leads to the observation platform on the top of the tower.

Or at least an elevator or internal spiral staircase up to the external door, or even a door across a corridor to the external door, depending on how big the overall dining hall really is in relation to the tower it's sitting in.

Why don't I think it leads to the kitchens?

Well, let's look at the kitchen: it looks roughly square, or at least not a whole lot longer one way than the other, so we're looking at a squarer sort of rectangle at most, and with that we can do a few quick calculations based on what's in the kitchen.

First, my research tells me that in a commercial kitchen, like for a restaurant, recommended kitchen size is .5m² per seat. The count of the students at the table (estimated 16+14+14+13=57 plus three teachers) give us around 60 seats, which makes our estimated kitchen around 30m².

(That's a fridge in the left corner as far as I can tell, though I did for a short time assume it was stairs. Gosh darn pattern on the door, fooling me.)

Further, commercial fridges, double ovens and cupboards give me widths of 610cm for a fridge, 60.96-68.58-76.2cm for double ovens, and 1200cm for a cupboard. recommended ventilation distance between ovens is a suggested minimum of 15.24cm, and there are four ovens along one wall with the fridge and the free standing cupboard. Using the largest width for ovens, we're looking at a room of at least 5.62m across.

It's important I note here, that the room isn't actually square, while the main body of it looks that way, there's also a little alcove attached along that wall.

Now there is a bit more space between the ovens than is recommended, enough for Musa to hide between them comfortably, but this gives us a starting base.

Even if the dining hall is 15ms across on the outside, that's still enough room to fit the kitchen in the tower given some of my other calculations which have the width of the mirrored buildings at 24-30m across, which should translate to the width of the flat topped towers.

But again, there's that zoom in, and the fact the girls come in from the side and turn left into the kitchen. I think we're looking at a kitchen position that's a little something like this:

Although I am hoping that despite the lack of any doors in the alcove, there's actually a walk in fridge/freezer behind the back wall, because there's plenty of cooking spaces, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of food storage outside the free standing fridge in the corner, the pantry by the alcove, and the alcove.

Maybe there's more in the various short cupboards, but at least a portion of those would be for cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, and I don't see any that are different enough to indicate cold storage vs long-life/shelf.

No. 11: SEEING DOUBLE (loneliness)

Nebarra staggered through the scorching sands of Hammerfell, the sun beating down on his armor he has wrapped in cloth in the hope of protecting himself from the heat. He was alone, hiding from the Thalmor’s gaze, a deserter in the desert. The air shimmered with heat.

In the distance, he saw her. Twice. There were two Camias, standing amidst the sand. Nebarra's heart leaped, but as he stumbled closer, everything vanished. Nothing but a mirage.

Nebarra’s chest tightened, his throat dry. Camia was gone. Dead. And all that remained was the ache of her absence and the heat of the desert. (105)

No. 12: STARVATION (underground caverns / cannibalism)

The group had ventured into deep, labyrinthine caverns, their torches casting a dim light on the endless stone. Days of wandering had depleted their food supplies. Despair and hunger set in as they eyed the glowing mushrooms on the walls, admittedly an alchemy ingredient, but dangerous in large quantities.

Auri glanced at the corpses of the Falmer they had just defeated. "Falmer are still meat, though it tastes like slimy chicken.", she suggested. Her kind had no problem with eating flesh.

But the others backed away. Cannibalism, even that of the Falmer, was too taboo for them, unlike the Bosmer. (100)

No. 13: TEAM AS A FAMILY (multiple whumpees)

The Dragonborn’s companions lay scattered around the ancient tomb, each nursing wounds from the battle. Lucien had a deep gash along his arm, hastily bandaged. Auri's legs were swollen and bruised. Inigo wheezed, ribs cracked evident in his labored breaths. Taliesin had his hands burned with Magicka, Gore was holding his head in pain, Kaidan’s face was bloodied from a draugr’s strike.

The Dragonborn knelt, voice heavy with guilt. "I'm sorry you’re all hurt... again. I dragged you into this."

Kaidan grunted. "Only death could part me from you. Don’t apologize. We’ll fight until the end, together." (105)

No. 14: LEFT FOR DEAD (blackmail)

Taliesin had run, heart pounding. It was all true in that letter : the details, the secrets... When he fled into the night, he didn’t expect to be caught. But they found him. They beat him until he could no longer fight back, leaving him bloodied and barely breathing on the moor. They stripped him, replacing his robes with a hunter’s outfit, masking the crime.

At dawn, his companions, worried about his sudden disappearance, went looking for him. They finally found it on the moor. Xelzaz knelt by his side, pressing trembling fingers to Taliesin’s neck. "He’s alive," he whispered in relief. (105)

No. 15: CHILDHOOD TRAUMA (painful hug / I did good, right?)

Taliesin stood trembling before his father, the man’s cold eyes filled with disappointment. “Too soft.”, his father spat. “You’ll never be a Thalmor like this.” Young Taliesin swallowed the knot in his throat, forcing his emotions down. He understood, even then, he needed to become what they expected. He has to put a mask. He stiffened his back, raised his chin, and mimicked what he’d seen in other officers.

“Did I do well, Father?” he asked once, voice hollow.

For the first time, his father smiled and pulled him into a tight embrace. Pride glinted in his eyes. But Taliesin felt only a bitter emptiness. (104)

The pages in black and white were cool, the art is perfect as always. Maybe seeing an Akane and Hanako team up would be fire af but with Teru here I doubt it so this is a tiny hope I will put in hell with everything else for now.

Idk if I am strong enough to go on a full explanation on why my interest dropped since some chapters, this didn't start on this one, this one was just the last straw. I will just show the most obvious choices that I don't like ( my opinion btw this is just the feeling I have while reading, take this with a BIG grain of salt)

I've been reading tbhk for 4 years and I am tired of waiting for stuff the author litteraly won't do anything about and just stay in their comfort zone

No repercussions on the mcs for some choices they made, no repercussions on wounds/stuff that happened which should have need time to heal for the characters or for them to grow, giving us always the same team up so no room for real character/relationship development beside the obvious (and with how slow Hanako and Nene have been going honestly making the same characters always interact doesn't help at all apparently L O L), BIG difference of pacing for characters growth, making the story take always the same route with the same characters being kidnapped and the same ones doing the savings, putting characters in an arc they have no reason to be part of so just making them stand in the background like a caricature of themselves, making characters 'mysterious' or forgetting their character development just to use them as some sort of deus ex machina, and the worst of all:

Making Nene just a reason for Hanako to react and nothing else. No character development for her, no reason for her to be in some scenes, this is just sad to watch at this point. Aoi had this problem at the beginning of the manga for Akane mostly for comedic reason and they had growth, seeing they are putting Nene in this position after more than 100 chapters and her being the mc is just awful.

I honestly just want more diversity in the choices they are making in their writing, and the last chapter proves me that either it will come in a long time or it never will.

At least the art is pretty, and the worst part is that I KNOW AidaIro knows how use setup, they know how to write really good stuff and good characters, complex stories, and it's GOOD. So seeing this in the recent chapters just makes me even more tired x'))

Once again, my opinion, but the way Nene and Aoi are treated in the manga makes me wanna explode. AidaIro are capable of writing good female characters (thank you Mei and Sumire for being perfect from start to end), Aoi and Nene had wonderful time too, so idk why all of this is happening rn tbh. It's just sad.

Maybe the brainrot will come back, I still love the characters, but I really need to take a break from the fandom anyways (not gonna expand on this but oh boy how annoying a part of the fandom is, a lot of people are the sweetest but a part makes me wanna explode, I've been more than 3 years here and I think that the most I can take at this point)

Nicole was such a kind and patient little baby, she never makes any fuss when it’s time to get dressed. In fact she just watches, interested, as her parents dress her up. This time it was Beatrice who was doing so since Rooster was busy taking a shower.

She looked adorable with her plaid yellow pants that matched her bow and the white t-shirt with the words ‘Ugh! As if!’ printed on it. Yes it was because Beatrice watched Clueless a few weeks ago and managed to find this adorable outfit and couldn’t help herself.

Plus,Nicole looked adorable.

“There you go, oh my God you look so cute!” Beatrice smiles, clapping her hands as she kneels in front of the bed where her daughter sat patiently, holding onto her monkey and blinking up at her mother, “You look so cute,when you are older I’ll explain this reference…and I’ll also explain the 90’s were weird, very weird.” she shakes her head with a grin, kissing Nicole’s cheek, “Wait until your dad sees you, he’ll freak out.”

“Dada?”

“Yes! Dada!” Beatrice stands up to her feet and taps her knees to get rid of any dust clinging to her dark tights, pulling the black knee length boots a bit so it wouldn’t roll inside when she moved. She carried Nicole to the mirror, her little girl was still confused by reflections and the fact that there are two of the same people within the room, but she is getting better little by little. “Look at us, we are matching!” In a way, her own skirt was brown instead of yellow and her white blouse was a turtle neck one instead of a shirt.

But she looked pretty good.

She turns to the side and runs her hand over her stomach, it’s still pretty much invisible and the skirt’s volume helps in hiding the growing bump from any of her family’s eyes. She turns to the other side, then back, then repeats the pattern enough to make Nicole giggle because the movement was making her sway, “Mama is funny,is she?” Beatrice smiles, kissing Nicole’s head, ‘Sorry,birdie, I’m just checking on your little siblings.”

“Buh buh!” 

“Yeah,I know.Are you excited?”

Nicole babbled something, hugging onto Beatrice’s neck and she assumed that was a positive response. Beatrice sighs, holding Nicole close as she looks at her reflection one last time, staring over her shoulder at the bathroom when she hears the distinct sound of Rooster buckling his pants, “You okay over there?”

“Yep. I’m fine. Are you?”

Was she? “Yeah,I’m fine.”

“Good, gorgeous. We’ll be okay.”

“I know,I’ve been repeating that for…minutes now.”

“Do you want us to wait a bit before going?”

Her heart swelled at his suggestion, her smile widening as she looked down at her phone to check the time, “Not really, we’ll be fashionably late either way. I don’t mind going now,Roos.” and she rocks Nicole in her arms, kissing her little girl’s forehead and adjusting the bow on her hair, “I’ll be okay.”

“I know you will.” she hears him moving around, then the sound of something hitting the sink and his quiet cursing “Fuck, hit my knee, god damn it- I mean that, ow, I mean that you will be okay, we will be okay. Just try to have fun- god damn it that hurt.”

“Are you okay?”

“I think I’m losing my awareness because I just slammed my knee on the sink.”

“Roos.”

“You can kiss it better later,” he chuckles “But I’m fine,I swear.”

Beatrice laughs softly, sitting back down on the bed as she hears the dogs patting inside. Jolene was the first to arrive, tail wagging and pink nose tilted up so Beatrice could pet her head, her pups following behind - Eleanor had no concept of personal space and loved to jump on their bed, just so she could be close to Nicole, while Jack chose to stay under the bed and only keep his snout out from under the covers. And she had to admit that doggy sweaters are the best thing to buy during this time of the year.

Jolene sat in front of Beatrice, placing her huge head on her thigh, nose pointed directly towards her owner’s stomach. Much like Nicole’s, Jolene knew there was something going on in there and Beatrice couldn’t be more thankful to have such loving and protective dogs…well,Eleanor was the most protective of them all, but nevertheless, she felt safe, “Yeah,I know, I have a pair of babies in there.” Jolene presses her nose up to the top of her skirt and huffs, “You’ll take care of them too, won’t you Jojo?” a buff of agreement - and two of almost offense came from the pups- “And you guys too, of course.”

Eleanor barked happily, standing on her legs behind her, right in Nicole’s line of sight. The little baby smiled, reaching a small hand to Eleanor who immediately leaned down to lick her minuscule palm, making the little girl squeak a giggle.

“What’s she laughing at?”

Bea blinked, “Oh,Ellie is licking her hand.” she gently wipes the said hand off any dog saliva by grabbing a wipe from her nightstand, “Just being Ellie,why?”

“I dunno, my daughter laughs and I want to know why. She’s just too cute to pass up.”

“She got that from her dad.” she heard his snort, almost bashful one as he stayed in the bathroom, “You almost done?”

“Almost.” something clattered on the sink and he cursed again “I got the buttery fingers today, holy shit.”

“You’ll survive.”

“Always, gorgeous. Alright,I’m coming out.” Beatrice angled her body so she’d look straight at the bathroom door with Nicole facing the same direction, she whispered excitedly to her daughter that her ‘dada’ was almost there.

And honestly, when he did, he never disappointed.

He always had a great sense of style, although some of his friends would disagree and joke he stayed in the 80’s for a good chunk of his style, but she knew he had more under his sleeve. The amount of shirts that were to expose his chest were endless, but, considering how cold it was outside and they were in December, he chose to keep the striped black and white shirt buttoned up to his chest, only keeping a tiny part of his collar bones visible.

Since he couldn’t feel cold, more like he could but not in California, Rooster’s outfits were always the mid-season dream with the light cotton fabrics and the soft pants that this time were a dark shade of blue. The way those colors complimented his skin and his hair…it was amazing, he was amazing. “Dada!” Beatrice was snapped out of her full on ogling by their daughter, Rooster also stopped fiddling with his watch to smile at Nicole.

“My baby girl!” Beatrice loved how high his deep voice got when talking to Nikki, “Hi! Oh my Gosh, you look so fancy!” He practically skips over, picking Nicole up and holding her so he could take a full look at her outfit, “Like a child of the 90’s, I love it.”

“She even has a jacket.”

“Oh that’s so fucking cute.” he coos, tucking her on his neck and kissing her head. Then his eyes moved to Beatrice and he looked, he looked for a good while, whistling low, “Ooohhh…look at mama.” he whispers to Nicole, who turns her head towards Bea, “Isn’t she the most beautiful woman ever? Isn’t she pretty?”

“Pphuty!”

“Close! I’ll take it.” he smirks at Bea, offering her his hand, “Give me a twirl,gorgeous.” she laughs, letting him spin her in place and once again earning a pleased noise from her husband, “God you have beautiful legs…and thighs and,” he lets go of her hand to cup Nikki’s ears - one ear covered by his palm, the other by his shoulder - “Ass.”

Beatrice laughs even more, her nervousness dissipating, “Really? With everything you say that’s the thing you worry about?”

“I don’t know, it’s easier to say than the usual cursing I do.”

“Mhm.Sure.”

“But you do look beautiful.” he says, leaning down to kiss her scalp, inhaling the lavender in her hair and smiling when she hugged his torso, “Are you okay?” she nods against his chest before looking back up at him, “You sure?’

“I am better, yeah.’ she smiles, “Still nervous, but…you know, not how I was.”

“Good, good, that’s all I worry about.” he murmurs, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, the movement made it easy for him to see the time on his watch, “Wanna go? We’ll be fashionably late as you said we would.”

“Yeah, yeah let’s go.”

Bradley kissed her forehead one last time, then handed Nicole back to her mother as the two walked out of the bedroom - the pilot whistling so the dogs followed, whistling harder when Eleanor remained on the bed and refused to leave, even barking at Rooster…eventually she did leapt off the bed. He follows Beatrice downstairs, grabbing his coat on the way out, “Okay, so, we go there.”

“Yeah,”

He slips his arm inside a sleeve, “We eat.’ she smiles, rolling her eyes, “You said your mom is making chocolate lava cake, for the love of God,Bea. You know I love lava cake.”

“Then it’s good I didn’t tell you she might add some fresh whipped cream,” his pained face, followed by him biting his knuckles made her laugh, “With fresh berries.”

“Jesus Christ, okay, yeah.Eating? A must- oh I need to call Mav.” he taps his sides and his butt until he feels his phone, pulling it out to call his uncle, “He knows the way but I think it’d be better if they came with us.”

“That’s fine.” she says, leaning against the wall as she fixed Nicole’s little Clueless coat around her tiny torso, “Weird that I’m going to spend Christmas with my boss…never thought it’d be something to think about when I started.”

“Crazy,huh?”

“I think our relationship opened some wild doors.” she chuckles, “But I’m not complaining.”

“Me neither.” he whispers, cupping her chin and kissing her lips repeatedly, humming in surprise when he uncle picks up, almost as if he could see what was happening and stepped back, “Mav! Hey! You ready?” a pause, “No, yeah, we were just waiting for you - no you don’t have to bring anything,I told you that…no, no, no Mav is fine. They are cool people, they are a bit crazy,” Beatrice chuckled, “But so are you.”

She could almost hear the indignant ‘hey!’ from the older pilot.

“No, yeah…yeah,I know…okay,so we’ll meet you there? Okay,no, yeah I can do it. Yep,hmhm, okay. Kay….kaaaay oh my God, calm down. Okay…alright, see ya.” he sighs with his brows arched as he ends the call, “They are waiting for us.”

“Was he nervous?”

“A little.” he shrugs, shoving his phone into his pocket and pulling the keys out of the holder, twirling it on his index finger, “But he’ll live, Mav isn’t shy, you know he’s going to survive your family.” he kisses her forehead and then opens the door for her, “Ladies.”

“Why, thank you.”

“Buh buh bah dada!”

Rooster’s eyes crinkled at the corners, he sent a kiss towards Nikki then turned to the dogs, “All of you, come on.” Jolene was the first, with Eleanor bouncing off and Jack hesitantly leave the door, looking over at Rooster with his eyes huge and ears flat on his skull, “You’ll meet your actual grandparents,Jack, go on.” he gently taps the dog’s butt, pushing him a bit forward and then closing the door.

He unlocks the car so Beatrice sets Nicole inside, before she turns to the dogs and they all take place next to the baby. Eleanor and Jolene on each side of her, with Jack at the bottom, partially hidden by the seat - a feat, honestly, with how big he was. She sighed, rubbing her arms before looking at him, “...well!” she slaps her hands on her sides, “I guess we should go.”

“We should.” he smiles, but before she can walk away he wraps his arms around her waist and tugs her closer, pressing their foreheads together, ��Gorgeous, we’ll be okay…you hear? We’ll be okay.” he squeezes her each time he speaks the last words, smiling when she giggles at him, draping her own arms around his neck.

“I know…we will it’s just…” she shrugs, “You know how I can be.”

“Absolutely sexy and adorable at the same time?’ she sputters a laugh, “I might’ve heard something about that.”

‘Stop it.”

“No.” he smirks, swallowing her laugh when he kissed her again, “I’m never going to stop being crazy about you,gorgeous.” he breaks the kiss to gently tap her ass, “Now, let’s go. Your mom might drag us both if we take much longer.”

“I hate how right you are.” she smiles, cupping his cheek and then walking around the car. Obviously he followed closely, opening the door for her before she could even blink. “Thank you,Roos.”

“The day I don’t do it it’s the day we are both too old to use a car.” he smirks, “But I will help you on those little bikes old people use.”

“Oh my God.”

“Come on, it’d be fun.” he says as she sits down, “We could race each other.”

Beatrice stares ahead for a second, then looks back at him with a small grin, crossing her arms with a sigh that meant she was genuinely thinking about it, “...we could, maybe if we still lived on this street,” she turns her head towards the still closed garage doors, “It’s flat, only turns down the street…it’s a lot of lane to cover.”

He smirks, kissing her forehead soundly and then closes the door. He was glad she was smiling and joking around and honestly loves how she always jumps in his ideas. But he was genuinely honest with her, he wants to grow old with Beatrice, “We could be the crazy couple down the street.” he says as they get inside, “We can be the old fucks who fight dumb people.”

“Oooohhh, like those creepy men who grab waitresses!”

“Or people that just park in areas that are clearly not for them to use. There’s a sign there for a reason.” he says, the garage door slowly opening so he could reverse it, “Imagine it, we could also be the best party at a party.”

“We’d be amazing at Nicole’s wedding.” she said more to tease him, because his smile disappeared and his eyebrows furrowed, “I’m joking Roos.”

“She’ll take a long time to get married.” he says, he’s not offended or hurt, in fact he’s laughing a bit, “But…yeah,we will. We’d be amazing.”

Beatrice leans back on her seat with a sigh, watching the garage ceiling disappear from her view as they are finally out of the house, her fingers rubbing over her wedding band as she watches the door close and lock, with Rooster dropping the keychain before holding the steering wheel. Beatrice feels…cold in her stomach.

The anxiety was slow but it never left.

She chews the corner of her mouth, the taste of the cherry lip gloss invades her mouth as she does so, looking out the window to watch the many colors blur by as Rooster drives them towards Penny’s house. It surprises her how quickly they got to the place, in fact she blinked up and they were already there, “Wha?”

“You passed out a bit.” he commented, gently rubbing her thigh, “I let you sleep because I know your brain is being a big meanie tonight.”

“Oh…oh thank you Roos.”

“How do you feel?”

“Good…I feel good.” she cracks her neck, groaning, “I should’ve slept in a better position though…I barely noticed I closed my eyes.”

“That’s okay,gorgeous.” he parks the car just in time to see Mav,Penny and Amelia walk out. He waves at the three, so does Beatrice, Nicole laughs happily when she notices it’s her grandparents on the other side.

Rooster signals to Mav so they’d follow the Bronco, his uncle throwing a thumbs up and stepping inside Penny’s car before Bradley started to drive himself. With them following right behind,Beatrice didn’t know if it was her past nap thoughts or just…something random, but she giggled quietly to herself. “What?’ her husband asks, driving towards her parents’ house, “What? What’s so funny?”

“You know, now that Mav is with Penny.” she says, “And he’s your uncle, which makes Penny your aunt and Amelia your cousin…does that mean Shells is your cousin too?” 

“She’s Amelia’s cousin though.”

“But there is some familiarity.” she giggles, “I don’t know, isn’t it cute?”

“No offense but I prefer Amelia over Shells. Amelia didn’t threaten me when I started dating you.” he mumbles, “Or made me suffer for months because all I wanted was your name. Hell, she could’ve just said ‘oh it’s Bea’ and I’d be happy.”

“Aw come on, I like how you came up to me.” she says sweetly, “It still gives me butterflies when I remember it.”

Rooster huffed softly, arching his eyebrows and shaking his head, “Yeah,you aren’t the only one.” he murmured, “Now, let’s get this Christmas party started.”

my diet

i do not eat more than 1000 kcals a day. i usually stay under 600. i skip breakfast, and eat cucumbers or something light for lunch. i try to avoid dinner, but sometimes my roommates wanna go out and i'm forced to oblige. fasting messes with my heart issues, i have to eat, otherwise i am in the emergency room. i wish i could, though.

i enjoy diet sodas and little puff cakes. my comfort foods include: dry cereal, cucumbers, boiled eggs, strawberries.

i only really reblog th1nspø, maybe i'll post my own version with my own body. i can't have my friends and family finding out im way worse off than they thought. but, sometimes i'll post pictures i find on the internet.

besides being sick, i enjoy music. i love fashion, and heavily dedicate my time to my outfits and wardrobe. i am an artist, and occasionally tattoo my friends.

Yo! I thought it would be fun to draw my take on a “present” version of Koraidon/Miraidon… other than Cyclizar, that is. My main inspirations were antique motorcycles, helmets and outfits with elements of hadrosaurs. This was super fun!

Yoga Mod by Twinsimming & Alunn 🧘🏾‍♀️

This mod brings the yoga activity from The Sims 4: Spa Day to The Sims 3. Originally created by Alunn, I recently took over to add additional features and bring it to release!

This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.

The yoga mat is draggable in Live Mode and can be placed in a sim’s personal or family inventory.

Yoga Mat

Using any of the yoga mat interactions will build the Athletic skill (except for Children), though some more slowly than others. As your sim’s skill increases, they will learn new yoga poses and improve on their execution of previous ones.

A sim’s Athletic skill also determines how long they can use the mat before becoming Fatigued* (anywhere from 4-7 hours):

Skill Level 1-3 (Poor/Novice): 4 hours

Skill Level 4-6 (Normal): 5 hours

Skill Level 7-9 (Skilled): 6 hours

Skill Level 10 (Expert): 7 hours

*Children will always get Fatigued after 3 hours.

Your sim won’t gain muscle, lose weight, or become more fit from using the mat, but they will fulfill any generic workout related wishes. And sims won’t lose Hygiene as fast as they would using other athletic equipment.

Sims aged Teen and up will switch into their athletic outfit, take off their shoes before using the mat, and put them back on when finished. Children will switch into their athletic outfit, but leave their shoes on.

Pregnant sims can use the mat in any trimester!

Practice Yoga (Child and Up): Raises Athletic skill, gives sims the Tranquil moodlet after 2 hours, small boost to Fun need

Contemporary Teen Bedroom Set 🛏

Hi everyone, I’ve finished my first set of conversions from The Sims 4: High School Years! I’m breaking the objects up into sets since EA did a really good job this time around making complete sets of bedroom furniture. The first one up is contemporary themed and includes a bed, desk, dresser, end table, shelving unit, rug, and a few other décor items. 

Most of the objects included have overlays on some areas while others remain CAStable. I did this to provide as much flexibility as possible for customization, so there are several CAStable presets available for each object. The top photo is fully decorated and the bottom photo shows just the objects that come in the set.

I don’t want to make this post too terribly long, so if you’re curious about where an object in the top preview photo came from please don’t hesitate to ask!

INSOMNIA by Charly Pancakes Conversions 💤

Charly Pancakes is one of my favorite custom content creators for The Sims 4, so naturally I had to have their stuff in The Sims 3 as well! I’ve converted all six items from their INSOMNIA set to share with you today. This set contains a wardrobe, a bed frame, a mattress, a small potted plant, a rug, and a functional candle.

The floor plant is from kandiraver-sims here, the suitcase end table is from Around The Sims 3 here, the wall art is from julietsimsccblog here, the mirror and hand sculpture are previous conversions of mine here and here, and the flooring is from pixelfrogslegs here.

Happy new year everyone! 🥳 I haven’t converted a kitchen set since 2020, which means it’s past time for another one! @hideoutpeach sent me an ask a while back about converting items from the Sims 4: Country Kitchen Kit, so I converted everything with the exception of the sink and cabinets.
