Just had a Thought and now I'm curious. What's you guy's strangest comfort media? It doesn't have to be strange as in like creepy/fucked up/whatever, it can just be smthn a lil odd.

Sometimes I think about the past
Because I know we were able to sit and do nothing
For hours
If we wanted.
No question to it.
Because then,
Everyone had the time to fully decompress. To the point of real
Boredom.
I think about the past because it gives me a space to do that.
It gives me a reason to simply be, to ponder the walls around me. Enjoy the colors, fabrics and textures of the world.
Vibrations of a train nearby when it shakes your room,
or music so loud it threatens to rearrange your heart
To hear crickets on the first hot night of the year
And it’s mid June—
You can pay attention to things like that when you’re bored like this.
Enough to start realizing the weather is never the same as yesterday.

what was the other heavy hitter thing the gods will non-understander said in lit class?
haha it was a very hungarian thing that honestly doesn't hit as hard when translated to english. we were walking home from school and she was deep in thought and then said "i disdain janus pannonius" (hungarian humanist poet from the 15th century) out of the blue. it was a combination of the word choice, the earnestness, and the fact that this issue has presumably been circling in her mind for hours without us knowing that just made it hilarious. every time that guy came up in class after that we were just like. hm. i disdain him.

i know they are called
bad habits for a reason,
and i am sorry for using them,
but they are all i have left.
even the good ones
have turned rotten now.
stomach acid eating at the lining,
knives locked away in the cupboards,
a pack a day even on a good day
kind of rotten.
my doctor asks me if i am scared
of what will happen to my lungs
when i am older and i wish
i could find it in me to tell her
i've never once thought that
i might actually live long enough
for that to be a problem one day.
instead, i shrug.
"cancer, probably." i say.
i don't apologize this time.
i don't tell her that
i will let my body rot into nothing
if it gets me through the day.
