you ever think about how mainstream gaming is the way it is bc it evolved from arcade games?
#like the focus on Skill(tm) that values reflexes/reaction time/competition/speed#obvs there's other influences too tho#like rpgs#and then there's a sorta parallel thing going on with early computer games (remember when Computer Games and Video Games were different?)#w people like cyan wanting to make 'video games for adults' lol like myst#and there's always been artsy games and stuff but mainstream-wise i just think sometimes about how like#strange (neutral) it is that you have this medium that's debatably art but also like. not always considered by players or devs to be art?#in a way that books and movies aren't /exactly/ altho there's comparisons to like blockbuster movies for sure#esp bc i think about how the people making a lot of mainstream games were guys who grew up in the 80s/90s and loved 80s action movies#and got to make worlds where you play as those action dudes#like obviously snake who's not even trying to not be snake plissken ghlskdjf#resident evil also obvs#or isaac being inspired by whatshisname in die hard#ther's an implicit power fantasy#but also it opens up interesting artistic/storytelling paths that other mediums can't explore as easily?#isaac is an interesting example of it imo bc of the tension between his ultra-masculine voice/hyper-competence/cool suit#and 1. the survival horror setting but also 2. the fact that he's actually incredibly brittle & the impression#of him we get is based on assumptions when really his independence/determination is a flaw & his 'togetherness' was a facade the whole time#ofc the way it gets expressed in ds2/3 feels like it's still limited by sexist ideas about what emotions men are allowed to express#and how imo#but idk i think it's interesting to play with that#and in an interactive setting you get to do that in a way that other media can't#but back to my original point lol#those are (imo) really interesting things that do get explored sometimes#but like gaming culture at large sometimes feels like it#explicitly rejects reading anything deeper into a game than 'hero shoot bad guy'?#and i feel like in part that comes from what players value and gaming culture puts Skill really high and can sometiems treat story/characte#like set dressing#(obvs there are exceptions)#(and it makes sense i mean. it's a Game it's supposed to be Fun To Play

It just make things worse bcs everyone is so desperate to get to Earth 1, they lose sight of what's important. (Bcs people are ready to throw many many things away when faced with desperation).
A small bunch of rebel decide they have enough of this tyranny and just stop caring about the angels entirely- hiding from them, refusing to go 'up', living their life following their own moral code and not the one some self proclamed god imposes them. The are The Sinners, and they shall not stopepd until they are Free.
To finally solve all problems caused by humans, God made six new earths, to separate everyone depending on their sins, Earth 1 being for the best people and Earth 7 for the worst sinners. Every 50 years, angels arrive and re-judge people to decide if they should stay, go up or down.

Please listen carefully Please listen carefully I need you to read this
Tumblr media
My name is Ahmad Al-Ashi, a 24-year-old young man from Gaza.
For years, I have been the sole provider for my family. I live with my mother, who is 68 years old and suffers from chronic illnesses that weigh heavily on both of us. Her condition requires daily care and constant medication, but we can barely afford enough food to survive, let alone the expensive medicines she desperately needs.
My own health is not much better. I suffer from liver disease, and my liver enzyme levels are extremely high, leaving me in constant pain every single day. This illness prevents me from working consistently, and sometimes I even struggle to help my mother with the simplest tasks.
Tumblr media
As for our living conditions,we reside in a tent—if it can even be called that. It provides no protection from the scorching heat of summer or the freezing cold of winter. The severe inflation in Gaza has made even basic necessities unaffordable. Food has become a luxury, and medicine feels like an unattainable dream. Every day, we face a battle between hunger and illness, between hope and despair.
Despite all of this, I continue to fight, standing as best I can for my mother and my family, searching for any glimmer of hope that can help us overcome this harsh ordeal. Our story is not just one of pain; it is a plea to anyone who can offer help, to anyone with a compassionate heart who can be the reason we survive this nightmare.
We are in desperate need of someone to extend a helping hand because our lives are on the brink of collapse.

Have you had your cup of coffee today? How much does it cost?
15$ 20$ 25$ 30$
While you can live freely and enjoy your coffee, there are many children in Gaza who suffer due to war, siege, and the harsh winter.
The Children of Gaza: A Struggle Against War, Siege, and Winter’s Cold
As you sip your warm cup of coffee in the comfort of your home, it’s hard to imagine that, just a world away, countless children are fighting a daily battle for survival. In Gaza, the ongoing war, years of siege, and the bitter cold of winter combine to create a devastating reality for innocent children and their families.
For these children, the luxuries of warmth and safety are dreams rather than realities. Many have been forced to live in makeshift tents after their homes were destroyed by bombings. These tents, often made from thin tarps or old fabrics, offer little protection against the freezing winds and heavy rains of winter.
The lack of heating, warm clothing, and proper shelter leads to illnesses like hypothermia and pneumonia, with limited medical supplies to treat them. Children go to sleep shivering, waking up to puddles of rainwater and mud inside their temporary shelters.
The blockade on Gaza further exacerbates this suffering. Basic necessities such as fuel, food, and medicines are in short supply. Parents face heartbreaking choices between buying food or trying to find ways to keep their children warm. Schools and hospitals are overwhelmed, struggling to provide even the most basic services.
Yet, despite these hardships, the resilience of Gaza’s children is remarkable. They cling to hope, dreaming of a life beyond war and deprivation. But they cannot endure this alone—they need our help.
A cup of coffee might cost $15 or more, but the same amount can bring warmth to a child in Gaza. It can provide blankets, clothing, or even a few days of heating for a family struggling to survive.
As you enjoy your freedom and comfort, consider extending a helping hand to these children. Your small act of kindness can make a world of difference in their lives, offering them not just warmth but a glimmer of hope in the midst of despair.
Let’s turn our privilege into action and show these children they are not forgotten.
My family, like the rest of the people of Gaza, suffers greatly from the war, the cold and the difficult conditions. Help by donating or spreading the campaign so that we can resist and survive.

It’s strange when “democracy” means people have to choose between Ivanka’s dad and Ella’s mom, as if that’s supposed to feel empowering. Sure, two bad options don’t feel great, but hey, at least there are options. In some countries, you’d be lucky to get even one choice. And in others? They don’t get elections at all, just a permanent leader who shows up like it’s just another day on the clock. But here democracy feels like a two for one special with a free side of disappointment.
Now that Ivanka’s dad has won. Yes Yes my friend !! Abo Ivanka has won!! And here we are, looking at this system and thinking, “Was this even a choice?” It’s like being asked to pick between plain oatmeal and soggy cereal for breakfast. Sure, it’s technically a choice, but nobody’s excited about it. The two main parties hog the spotlight so completely, they’ve turned “options” into a choice between “slightly bad” and “absolutely dreadful.” And heaven forbid a third-party voice shows up, because here, you need a 50% popularity rating just to get a seat at the grown-ups’ table.
By now, picking a president feels like choosing between the flu and food poisoning. The two big parties are so close in their love for big donors, it’s like watching rival soap operas funded by the same network. We call it “democracy,” but it feels like a rigged game, with mega-donors pulling the strings while the rest of us are just the audience, sitting here with popcorn, hoping the plot somehow gets better.
Sure, many lean toward the Democrats, thinking they’re the “better” choice. But from where I’m sitting, especially as a Palestinian, neither side looks promising. Take Gaza: Democrats have left it in ruins, like a bulldozer at a sandcastle competition, with 80% of the infrastructure leveled and 90% of the people displaced. Now Ivanka’s dad is in charge, and, honestly, we’re past worrying about escalation, because there’s nothing left to escalate to. At this rate, they have already broken the records for destruction and the number of martyred, but the looming fear now is if there’ll be any Gaza left to talk about.
For Palestinians, for Gaza, for much of the world, this isn’t “democracy”; it’s a magic show where they tell you to pick a card, but no matter what you choose, it always comes back to the same card: disaster.
And now, winter’s arrived in Gaza. The nights there? Let’s just say, they’re colder than the stare you’d get from a #### who’s been asked to pay $12 or 15 for a black coffee. My family, like so many others, is living in a tent, a “tent” being a generous word for a few sheets trying to pass for walls. The wind comes in from every side, and huddling under thin blankets in this weather is like fighting a snowstorm with a paper towel. The cold bites to the bone, and there’s no escape; it’s like nature’s way of reminding us we’re still here, exposed.
If you can, please consider donating. Even the smallest help means warmth on a freezing night, a bit of comfort in the middle of a relentless winter. It’s a glimmer of hope for my family and trust me, it’s more welcome than soggy cereal ever could be.

DO NOT LET THE SEED OF HOPE WITHER!
LINK TO THE FUNDRAISER
DONATE TO RESCUE FALASTIN'S FAMILY TO MAKE THIS OLIVE TREE GROW!
Tumblr media
Listen, I'll try to make this as brief as possible for you. Falastin is a mother of three small children, desperately trying to rescue her 24 family members including their children who remain in Gaza. A part of her family's situation has even been documented by Al Jazeera News (scroll down for the video).
In November of 2023 she lost three of her cousins — some still buried under the rubble.
In March this year, she lost two more cousins at Al-Shifa hospital.
DEATH DOES NOT STOP IN GAZA! THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS! BOMBS DO NOT DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN CHILDREN AND ELDERS, WOMEN OR MEN!
Right now, her family is living in a tent made from plastic bags and torn clothing. They have been displaced more than 20 times. Each day is a battle for survival — unsure if they’ll have food to eat, clean water to drink, or a safe place to rest. Every day, they wait, uncertain of their future.
How you could help? DONATE & SHARE!
Just as a store profits from many customers buying small amounts, FUNDRAISERS ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS THROUGH MANY SMALL DONATIONS FROM MANY PEOPLE!
And even if you think the goal seems distant - THEY STILL NEED WATER, FOOD AND MEDICINE TO SURVIVE!
$25 (254 SEK) can provide a family with food for two days.
$50 (509 SEK) can ensure a family has enough food and water for an entire week.
$100 (1018 SEK) can provide emergency medical care for the injured.
$1,000 (10,182 SEK) can help rebuild their homes.
$10,000 (101,823 SEK) can cover the cost for one family member to leave Gaza.
Recently, there has been a decline in interactions with donation posts. Although I won’t delve into that now, it’s worth noting that Falastin started this fundraiser in late June and has barely received any contributions. So, let’s try something new.
DONATE TO MAKE THIS OLIVE TREE GROW!
Right now it might not even look like a tree, but every time I make an update of this fundraiser, I will update the tree to reflect the donations received.
If you donate more than $100 (1018 SEK) to this fundraiser, you can message me here to request a doodle of your choice (please be respectful and avoid suggesting anything inappropriate; also, don't expect it to be highly detailed).
I PLEAD YOU TO SHARE AND DONATE IF YOU CAN! EVERY BIT COUNTS!
LINK TO THE FUNDRAISER AGAIN
GOAL AS OF TIME OF POSTING:
9.812/2,000,000 SEK or 963/196,063 USD
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vetted by @90-ghost and shared HERE
Right now this campaign is number 282 in The Vetted Gaza Evacuation List
Shared with the permission of Falastin herself.

This is for all of my follwers/mutuals who are Christians:
I want to preface this by saying that what I'm about to share with you is only to ask you for prayer. I don't want favors, and I'm not looking for a handout. We need God to open a door for us, and so I beg you, please pray for us.
We moved to Florida coming on three years ago. We came here primarily because we believed God was leading us here. In various ways, we believed God confirmed His will for us, and so I left a great job and we sold a great house to move here. We have been opposed in every way imaginable since.
Days after moving down, Lisa and I were in a terrible car accident that we only walked away from by God's grace. We were rear-ended by an Edible Arrangements delivery truck on the highway, and Lisa sustained significant injuries that are still causing us major problems. The franchise owner was operating their delivery vehicle without insurance, and I've learned since that they shut down their Edible Arrangements franchise and took off, leaving us holding the bag.
I've been in armed security since I got out of the Marines, and in New Hampshire, that was enough to take care of myself and my family. But it isn't in Florida. The pay for most armed security gigs here is super low, and I haven't been able to find work comparable to what I had in New Hampshire. So I tried to change courses.
I earned my personal trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, but couldn't make it as a trainer. I made the attempt to go back to college and get a degree and certification as a paramedic, but after months of jumping through hoops, that fell through. I went back to New Hampshire by myself and spent six months away from my family to try to earn enough money working both my old job and a second job, but that plan didn't work because hours were limited with both gigs, and each job wanted me to work overlapping hours; I couldn't make the schedules line up.
My incredibly generous parents-in-law offered to pay our bills so that I could come back to Florida and try a new plan. I went to a CDL training course to get into trucking. After the very long and very expensive process, I finally got my CDL-A. While I was working on that, a random disagreement between my health insurance company and the medical supplier that issued me my cpap (I have sleep apnea) resulted in the supplier demanding that I give them the machine back. It took from middle February to early June for me to get another cpap. The end result is that, as of today, I have just under two months of cpap usage data. I discovered only after getting my CDL that no trucking company will hire me with less than 90 days of cpap usage data.
I've been pre-hired and subsequently turned away from three different trucking companies since I got my CDL over the cpap nonsense (one of which told me that what I had for cpap usage was fine, only to tell me on the first day of orientation that it actually wasn't fine, and they had to let me go). It's going to be another month before I can get started with any trucking company, and I'm concerned that I'll have to go to refresher training, which will only increase the months of time I'll have to spend as a trainee with whatever company hires me, which means it will be a long time before I make enough money to survive.
My in-laws can't continue paying our bills, and although I've had a half dozen low paying jobs in this time just to be bringing in something, now I'm struggling to get anything. I've applied to more jobs than I can remember, and I can't get any traction. Not even Domino's will call me back. Our backs are up against a wall.
My first payment for the money I borrowed to pay for CDL school was due almost a month ago, and I haven't been able to pay it (I had to get financing because my GI Bill expired and the VA ignored my request for an extension). Rent is almost 2k a month. We can't afford groceries (we've been living off of food pantries).
I don't know what to do. I've been crying out to God for an open door, but so far nothing has happened. My in-laws are just about tapped out, and in my mind, the only thing worse than wrecking my own family financially is dragging them down with me.
Please pray for us. Please pray for God to give us an open door, or some understanding of what to do next. I know God didn't bring us here to let us die. God is good, and God keeps His promises. God is perfect, and righteous, and just in all His ways. God has promised that He will turn about all things for the good of them that love Him. I know God has not abandoned us, and that when the time is right, God will make a way.
I say again, I am not looking for favors or begging for money. I know all of us are really going through it right now. All I want from you is prayer. Please pray intensely for us.
Thanks, I love you all.

get over yourself not everything has to be built around what would be the most revolutionary act. some things are about being human. some things are about having reasons to exist within yourself, and having the strength to keep supporting others.
like I'm so sick of the flavour of reactionary leftism that's like Oh If It's Not Radical It's Worthless! like this is how we get burnout in our activist communities. this is why people drop off the radar.
is it radical to eat a sandwich? is it anticapitalist to breathe air? it's against my class interests to pay rent but being homeless is fucking exhausting. it's unjust to buy food for less than it's worth but how useful am I when I haven't eaten?
why do anything if it costs us everything? like this is for real something I struggle to express clearly but feel very very deeply. we are looking for a better society. we need to remain people for that. and people need food and shelter and water and warmth to live but people also need art and friendship and community and joy.
you're going to make a big thing about oh this is denaturing the movement this is an op this is all about reducing resistance to unjust power. but I have been in anarchist and radical community for like a decade or so and I have seen. how it weakens our chances of fighting back when we are too busy cutting back to the bone to let ourselves live. people burn out. and you think this is how the powers we're fighting live? you think they're also cutting the bare necessities out from under themselves? no man obviously fucking not
and that's not to say art is above reproach. art is a way of conveying meaning and ideas and we have to be critical of what it means, what it says, and what it costs. but there's also a difference between eating bread bought from a supermarket that commits wage theft and honey from an overseas farm, vs eating the egg of an endangered condor sprinkled with gold flakes mined exclusively by children. that doesn't mean we should eat nothing it means we should be aware of what we're balancing our enjoyment of food against.
and that's not to say enjoying art or community or food are Intrinsically Radical Acts that will smash capitalism. it's just to say. not everything has to be politically radical and capitalism-smashing to be important.
eating a sandwich is not a radical act but I make a very good sandwich and I'm more able to act when I've eaten.
anyway it's 2:20 and I have work in the morning (not radical but necessary) and I gotta sleep (not radical but necessary) but all things considered. have you tried trying to be happy and help others be happy instead of setting yourself on fire right off the bat?
christ almighty some people are sad fucking miseries huh
#red said#we're not getting in to how this only comes up when it's marginalised or underserved people enjoying Things#I'm not doing that#bc i need to do the Unradical Necessary work of trying to sleep#but i truly loathe this dour contrarian politics-of-misery#i believe in a politic of revelatory joy. sometimes that requires misery on the way. but if the goal isn't joy for those around us#and connection between us#and just like. a world where people have the space and ground to be happy and fulfilled and well#then what the FUCK. IS THE POINT. IF ANY OF THIS.#again bc this WILL be misinterpreted#no that doesn't mean LET PEOPLE LIKE THINGS NOBODY'S ALLOWED TO CRITICISE ANYTHING#but it does mean. when your critique of something begins and ends with It Exists Under Capitalism And Is Not Radical#like uhhhhh ok???? but will it move me? will it help me carry on? will it connect me to others???#will it tell me things i find useful?#will it feed me? and is the food poison or just made less than perfectly?#just shooting yourself repeatedly in the foot and yelling WHY AM I MISERABLE#we have to be willing to sacrifice and to face pain for it. but happiness and thriving for all of us is the point.#but we don't have to sacrifice purely because Wanting Things Is Not Radical. we sacrifice to prevent harm. or to bring about justice.#not to like. prove how Real we are.#and I'm just gonna say it like 90% of the people i personally have met irl who are this level of Dour Communist Killjoys#are also fucking. cosplayers with rich parents escaping their middle class guilt by playing povvo and treating their actually poor pals#as if they hold more power than them#obviously can't extrapolate this out to everyone#but for real consider growing an appreciating for what we need to not just survive but actually live#give us bread but give us roses

90 minutes will never be enough to say goodbye to Good Omens…
I’m absolutely heartbroken. Amazon just confirmed that Good Omens Season 3 will be replaced by a single 90-minute special episode. Just 90 minutes to wrap up the story of Aziraphale and Crowley. Two characters we’ve loved for years, who have made us laugh, cry, and hope. And now they’re telling us it will all be resolved in just an hour and a half? It’s not enough. It can’t be enough.
We’ve been through their long, agonizing love story, their slow burn, the constant battle between who they are and what the world expects them to be. A bond that took millennia to build, and now we’re supposed to accept that all of it will conclude in such a short time? The depth of their relationship, the subtleties in their looks and gestures, the weight of their friendship that has survived Heaven and Hell… How could all of this possibly fit into 90 minutes?
This finale is supposed to come out in 2025, but it already feels like we’re saying goodbye. Too fast, too brief for characters as complex and beloved as these. Good Omens wasn’t just a show; for so many of us, it was a refuge, a journey filled with irony, humanity, and love. It’s painful to think it might all end so quickly.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful we’ll get a finale at all, but I can’t help feeling we deserved more. A full season would have allowed for exploring emotions, the consequences of choices, and really giving us that slow farewell from Crowley and Aziraphale we all craved. Instead, we’re getting an epilogue that feels like it might be too rushed, too compressed, like a mash-up trying to tie everything up too quickly.
Aziraphale and Crowley deserve better, and so do we, the fans. That said, I really hope those 90 minutes will be used wisely and that they’ll leave us with full, if broken, hearts.
How are you all feeling? Are you worried, like me, that this finale might be too short to capture everything that still needs to be told?

Imagine being so fucking aggressive about a ship you make jokes about Magneto and that very groomer scene from X-Men 97 that just... excuse the behavior? Because that doesn't sound very progressive in my opinion. Like yeah... rape culture in relationships just permeats fucking shipping but lets do nothing to argue against it. Lets make jokes that perpetuate the behavior and excuse men taking advantage of women.
To me having Magneto take advantage of a much younger mutant under his tutelage because she's desperate for physical connection and he's the only one she can touch is meant to showcase A) how Gambit contrasts Magneto and B) remind us that Magneto is never above using mutants for his own gains.
If this were reality most people would be calling Magneto a groomer and worse. We know Rogue was still a teen when Mystique took her in. We know that she's been an X-man for a few years. So Magneto was patient enough to wait until she turned 18?
Historically he hasn't done well with his love life. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's mom left him without telling him he fathered children because she was scared of him! (I'm only going on TAS and 97 here since this is an adaptation.) So where in the high heavens does everyome think he would be good for Rogue?
I don't care about the 'better than Remy' arguments because that's not the point! The point of who you ship Rogue with should be about if it's a relationship that is good for her! Is she their equal? Does she get treated with respect? Magneto looked at the Genosha council and without asking Rogue said "I'll lead but only if this woman I am trying to get back is my queen". LIKE DOES THAT EVEN SOUND MATURE? Magneto shows up, sees Gambit and Rogue being even mildly affectionate and starts pulling asshole moves on Rogue. And the narrative did nothing to make Rogue stand up for herself (which she would have) she should have told Erik "I'm a big girl I can get my own sugar for my coffee." She is shown numerous times to remind everyone she is no one's 'territory'.
Also wish to address the fact that making Rogue x Magneto comes with a 'sex is the only thing that matters!' Flavor that is exactly what so many of us are tired of in shipping. When did shipping stop being about the drama of a couple fighting against a narrative that pushes them apart or about finding love in the most unconventional of places, like alien hunting? And become solely about how nasty they can fuck? Seriously?
AND it's so blandly hetero it's not even funny. Because honestly the ways in which a couple can experience pleasure that don't involve traditional p in v penetration is vast and wild and there are enough types of gear and costumes and the like to facilitate that between Rogue and Gambit. Because that's all the argument has to stand on, is which man can fulfill her sexual needs. WHICH SHE HERSELF REALIZED WASN'T ENOUGH. She kisses Erik and goes "nope they're ain't any sparks there. This isn't going to be fulfilling ever."
Not to mention the fact that I can't genuinely see Magneto offering to die for Rogue. Sorry that grandstanding in Genosha was not the same. It was barely a heroic move... he still didn't save the Morlocks he promised to protect... he still failed. He couldn't save Leech and he couldn't stop the Sentinel either. Because yeah Magneto attempted to save Rogue and Gambit, but he did nothing to save the Morlocks at his side and he also survived without taking out the giant killer robot... but Gambit? Gambit said fuck it, gonna take this motherfucker to hell with me. He stopped Rogue from facing the sentinel so he could. And he actually stopped it. All on his own. Because that's what an x-man would do. Sure Magneto protectdd two people but sacrificed the morlocks yet again...
AND ON THE SUBJECT OF ROGUE x GAMBIT
Has Gambit always been great with Rogue? No, but that was the 90s and now look at how he handles shit? Comics writing has grown. It was a lot more heternormative and still had lots of rape culture hold overs in it.
Look at the episode when Cody shows up. He uses Rogue's connection to him from the past and then puts her in a situation that almost takes away her humanity. Her powers, which was what lured her into this trap in the first place, saved her from a man taking advantage of her. And the one time Gambit (in TAS) takes advantage of her, Morph in her form, told him to come and get some from her first. (So while he should have paused and woke Rogue up before kissing her, he had what he thought was an invitation.)
Gambit takes Rogue's decision to rule Genosha with Magneto incredibly well. He doesn't get mad, he doesn't call Rogue names, he doesn't do anyhting to hurt Rogue the way she is hurting him. He accepts it like a gentleman. Unlike Magneto who pursued Rogue's affections in unhealthy ways.
So uh... yeah that's my fucking rant.

Goddard was in his 70s at the beginning of Inquisition. Is he still around and if he is, do you think he’s involving himself with Solas and his world-ending shenanigans?
Tumblr media
.Tf u mean IF?????? ☹️ BioWare did me dirty making the game 10 years into the future.
.I’m kidding ofc he’s around!! I literally made my HoF immortal because I cannot face any of my OCs dying 🙏 tbh I don’t actually know what year DAV is set in because I’ve seen people saying 9:51 and 9:53 so 🤷‍♂️ Goddard was born in 8:70 so he’s in his eighties at least.
.So initially I was like HELL YEAH Goddard Returns!!!!! And then it’s very clear that (as I SAID) the game was basically shoehorning you into being best buddies with Solas regardless of choice and I can tell you that a) Goddard doesn’t have a clue who Solas is and b) he would absolutely kill him on sight if he was presented with a “this guy is trying to end the world” scenario. Anyway, more below 💋.
.Edit!!! Also!!!! Solas stole his fucking wedding ring!!! What the fuck!!!!! He’d beat the shit outta him!!!!!.
.A bit on Goddard’s back story; since he was away so much with the Orlesian Army and then the Fereldan Army he missed out on a lot of his kids’ childhoods, (there’s also a disconnect between him and Fulton II re: Goddard’s own relationship with his father, and then the filicide of Wakefield, and the bastard Lei appearing), and whilst he has repaired the relationships with them he still very much regrets prioritising war over his family even though he was basically taught this from childhood. Goddard was raised to be a tyrant and warmonger, he was made for fighting in wars and winning them. However! He now has the chance to get to spend time with him family, since the Inquisition is over, he handed his army to the Divine, he’s made reparations to the Baroulx family, and he’s absolute besties with Emperor Gaspard.
.Since the end of Inquisition, he’s been retired, he has ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, he went back to ruling his bannorn for a few years, then passed it over to Twyla (his eldest child), and decided he’d rather just do whatever the hell he wants now. He still fights, sparring and what not to keep in shape, he might be old but he’s not going to just crumple into dust!! Also considering I have Goddard II (Twyla’s Grandson/Gylda’s First Born) bethrothed to Gaspard’s daughter Lienne. (they are however children atm), he’s spending a lot of time in Orlais.
.I do think he gets roped back into things when he’s in Orlais. I think Hawke is the first one to realise shit is going down, and since he’s friendly with both Andrastopher (HoF) and Goddard, he kind of gathers them in preparation for something to happen (Varric’s letters grow increasingly worrying). Which means they’re all in Orlais together when shit hits the fan. Also there, is Lei (Goddard’s bastard son and Andrastopher’s Warden Second), and he is tasked with seeing how things are going in the north after Morrigan turns up for aid; after all Lei is a Grey Warden, half-Dalish, and son of the Herald of Andraste. He’s also a pretty good guy and overall trustworthy etc etc. a HUNK lbh.
.(On a side note, I’m 90% sure the Crossroads are like really exhausting to traverse for anyone who isn’t an elf so idk how anyone non-elven is chilling there??? But that’s another factor in Lei going. I’m not reading TME again just to check, but… I should…. For Gaspard 🥴🫶).
.So Goddard just liaises with his son throughout the whole thing, and trusts him entirely to do the right thing. He’s busy fighting for Gaspard, corralling the old Inquisition back together to aid Orlais knowing that Andrastopher is pulling together Ferelden’s armies at the same time. Hawke on the other hand absolutely legs it to Starkhaven to be with Sebastian (oh HC that this is why Starkhaven has the best survival in the Free Marches; Hawke forewarned them) even though their relationship is hush hush 🤫.
.I think Goddard would desperately want to return to Ostwick to be with his family during Veilguard but Twyla has a hand on things and he trusts her implicitly. Also he would look like a mad coward if he left lmao, can you imagine?? Herald of Andraste fleeing home when things get bad????.
.I do like the idea of all four of them getting together post Veilguard, because a) Andrastopher has slept with both Farid (Rook) and Doherty Hawke, b) Doherty would absolutely be mad at Farid for that thing that happens, c) Farid would be mad at Goddard for working with Solas in the first place, d) Goddard and Andrastopher already have beef over their sons anyway, like?? Hello smth is gonna happen with these four guys lbh.
.I do want to say originally Farid was going to be Goddard’s son, as he did have a liaison with a woman at some point before having children with Yetta (his wife) but it would make Farid too old so 🤷‍♂️ then I thought woag what if he was Gaspard’s bastard, and then I couldn’t because it would be borderline ??? Because Farid’s half brother Jean-Esmeral would be sleeping with Gaspard without knowing that their mother had also slept with him several times decades prior and had baby Farid together 😬🙂‍↔️ no thanku.
.The main thing is they’re all safe and sound 🙏 and even if I do love the idea of a last stand in Amaranthine/Starkhaven/Orlais, broken the moment Farid does his thing with the Veilguard ykno ykno, they’re still all safe 🙂‍↕️🫶💕.

Complicated things between Birkin and Wesker
Here I'll try to get to the bottom of why Birkin condemned his friend to death and why, through his fault, Wesker is doomed to be HIV (Progenitor) infected even if he stops using PG67A/W. Dealing with canon and delving into the dark side of lore...
Tumblr media
Let's start right away with what I've intrigued you with - Wesker's infection. I compared his infection with the prototype virus to HIV for a reason, because there are many similarities. When Wesker became infected and mutated, he became a perpetual carrier of the virus in his blood. Every particle his body carries the virus. And for some reason this fact isn't brought up at all in the fandom… I haven't seen anyone discuss how infectious Wesker actually is. Like HIV, Progenitor strains are classified as retroviruses.
Wesker is just as contagious as any other creature that has been under the sway of any strain of Progenitor, because there are no exceptions in this case. Thanks to a successful symbiosis with the virus, he doesn't attack humans and has only gotten positive attributes from it, but that's the only thing that makes him less contagious than normal infected.
Even if he stops using PG67A/W, which stabilizes his abilities gained from the virus, it won't fix his situation, because even without PG67A/W the virus will continue to exist in his body, there is no connection between this injection and the virus in his blood, it's just a stabilizer supplement.
Getting his body fluids (for example, blood) into someone else's body would cause an immediate reaction and infection. Knowing what a small survival threshold the prototype virus has and how selective it is, the person would probably just die on the spot. The prototype is not capable of creating random zombie-like mutations, it has only two outcomes - death or success. So the precautions here are the same as for HIV positive people. I wouldn't recommend Chris with open wounds to shoot Wesker up close, because if his blood gets on the wound, it could cause irreversible effects. Of course, such a battle tactic is beneath Wesker's dignity, but I would recommend that he bite his opponents. This would prove to be much more effective than a hand punch, as even Chris can easily dodge that punch. However, I'd like to see him try to dodge someone who wants to claw at his flesh at breakneck speed…
Now let's talk about Birkin. He knew the effects of the prototype virus because he had personally worked on this particular strain. He lied to Wesker about the survival rate after injection (File "Virus Memo" from "Umbrella Chronicles"). His information is a lie because out of 13 Weskers, only two survived the injection of the prototype virus. The survival rate is clearly not 90% as he said, but about 15.3%. Birkin knew that his comrade was at risk of dying, so he could have given him the fake injection and lied to him along the lines of "it's something special, but you can't be injured after the injection or you'll die", thus safeguarding Wesker from the urge to throw himself on Tyrant's claws and also safeguarding his humanity. But Birkin was afraid to go against Spencer, however the old man would never have known whether or not Wesker had injected himself with the virus if Birkin had said he had handed him the syringe. I also think that Birkin was unaware of Wesker's immunity, so by giving him the virus under the guise of a panacea, he was sending his friend to his death. You could say it's a cruel and selfish act on his part.
Although, there is a slight possibility that Birkin could have taken tests from Wesker beforehand and calculated that he was immune, which is why he attributed such unrealistically high survival rates to the prototype virus. In that case, his act has a modicum of nobility, since it's unlikely that anyone took tests from the other 12 Weskers. But that's just a theory, we don't know if he really knew about it and if Birkin could have really selfishly thrown Wesker to his fate, turning him into one of his (and Spencer's) test subjects.

Help Ahmed: New shorter summary
Tumblr media
My name is Ahmad Al-Ashi, a 24-year-old young man from Gaza.
I live with my mother, who is 68 years old and suffers from chronic illnesses requires daily care and constant medication,
My own health is not much better. I suffer from liver disease, giving me daily chronic pain. This illness prevents me from working consistently, and sometimes I even struggle to help my mother with the simplest tasks
We live in a tent that gives no protection from the elements . Food has become a luxury, and medicine feels like an unattainable dream. Every day, we face a battle between hunger and illness, between hope and despair.
I would like to evacuate and continue my software studies so I can support my mother

I have a hot thoschei take: I don’t think most of doctor who tumblr is ready to confront the idea that Missy allowing the Doctor to “fix” her was almost more a form of self-harm for her than anything else. Which makes the confrontation between her and the Master even more upsetting to me than if it was a simple ‘Missy good, old Master bad and sabotages her goodness.’
It’s more like looking on your future self and seeing her restrain herself further and further in ways you’d rather die than do, in ways that are slowly erasing what makes you/her yourself/herself. and when you realize that she will happily push you into this fate, too, (and has the audacity to preach about it), how else can you react but cut her loose.
And it also makes Missy and Twelve more interesting to me, because you can’t really argue the Doctor doesn’t know that he’s contributing to this. He locked her in a box. He knows her far too well to really believe she’d want to live so long in confinement, but he does it anyway. I don’t even think it’s that divorced from love or a need for them to come to an understanding; the Doctor just wants it to be completely on his terms and for the first time ever, that control is entirely possible and he doesn’t even have to feel guilty about it because she’s letting him.
Anon, I'm kissing your brain. And wish I could transplant it into Moffat's head.
I suppose my own brain is a bit too of a "they are characters in a text, serving a purpose to the point made by the author, not self-aware people making choices" bitch to really view it this way. But I absolutely agree this whole situation was much more effed up than fandom gives it credit for. I mean, the basic message of the vault arc is "here's the fool-proof way to develop empathy: a human lifetime of solitary confinment! Let's just ditch all those resocialisation programs in prisons and put all violent criminals in solitary boxes with only psychologists visting them! :DDDD".
Yeah, ok, that last point was a bit over the top in social engineering area even as far as fan bashing is concerned. And, tbh, I think a positive side of the vault arc is the not-sure-if-intended idea that it in fact wasn't decades of solitary confinment with Twelve coming to banter through a locked door only actual interaction with Bill that had Missy introspect, but wtv, it all just needed to go tragic in the end. I think the really unawarely messed up part here is this underlying insistence on. well, basically writing the Master as Darth Vader. There's still good in you, I can feel it!, as in just go back to being a child that I will be idealising in the penultimate episode, which frankly sounds to me the extact same as GO2 Aziraphale asking Crowley to just go back to being angels only even nicer :) (sth sth angelhood as a metaphor of pre-selfaware childhood when you can't even tell yourself apart from other people and especially God-the-Parent). Basically, the big idea being the Master's villainy isn't a result of conscious choices of a hundreds year old eldritch horror only not hearing the music whatever that means.
Of course, it was backwards engineered, in a "ah, but what if there really, really, reeeaaaallly wasn't any other way for the Master to survive than as the Doctor's prisoner?" way, which could work considering how survival focussed the character is (like, surely that wouldn't be worse than becoming a cat? or a 90s effects goo snake? or a man eating emo electroskeleton? or a tooth?)... but then we have a "yeah, but there's like an evil past that does value their independence (and evilhood) over survival, ain't that tragic?" ending.
Basically, I think the problem is not so much Missy accepting being the Doctor's prisoner, as not trying to escape even freaking once? Like, if we started off with her being dishonest about the whole teach me to be good :((( and then easing into living like this, this might have been an interesting idea? But yeah, as we are, you're right, it just. Comes off as trying to amputate a limb that got caught in a mousetrap rather than snares...

How do you survive the CR fandom? I try to avoid most discourse, but still the misogyny is everywhere. For me the women are the highlight of the campaign, but they get so little love. And now I am just being bitter, but it seems like people are more excited about Dorian, who had like 5 minutes of fame in the beginning, and Orym having a relationship than the 90+ episodes of emotional complexity that is Imogen and Laudna. Sorry, this is a vent post..
omg don't be sorry, you've come to the right place for this question lmao
there's definitely ways to find balance between taking a step back from the fandom but also finding likeminded people. it can take some work, but curating your following list is key and so is being liberal with the mute/block features. i'm not on stan twitter or reddit or whatever, but i do know tumblr has the best features to curate fan experience. sometimes it's as easy as finding a post with a take you really agree with and then just going through the people who liked/reblogged it.
i also think it's necessary to accept that misogyny is a sad reality of all fandom, because it's a sad reality of life, and your opinions won't change anyone's mind. i've been that person yelling into the void that people should stop ignoring, say, yasha in favour of every recurring male npc in c2 but that won't force people to pay attention to them, y'know?
there's a compromise of sorts you have to make, like if i'm going through someone's blog and there isn't a single mention of women (or it's all negative), then yeah, obviously i don't fuck with that. but i definitely follow people who love male characters that i don't really care for, but they also love the women, so you just have to use your best judgement.
sadly i think you just get used to it and do your best to make your experience comfortable. feeling bitter is definitely valid, and i think being an Enjoyer of Women in fandom is very difficult in general. it's best to just stay in your bubble, which definitely takes more work than it should to create, but as they say:
