I fucking hate with a burning passion when queer people defend Israel by saying “they would kill you in Palestine for being gay” or something along those lines.

Putting aside the fact that is completely untrue, even in a situation where somehow every Palestinian wanted me dead for being gay, I would still be on their side.

Genocide is wrong. Period. I couldn’t care less about their opinions on my sexuality. Palestinians are being slaughtered for the crime of just existing. And that is not okay.

Queers who aren’t pro-Palestine are an embarrassment to the community.

The whole thing with “how can lesbians like M/M ships? How can lesbians have male blorbos?” Is so annoying because you do know you can like things without being attracted to them right.

If you assume any woman with a male ship or blorbo is attracted to them and therefore a Fake Lesbian, then you must also assume that any female ship or character a lesbian is interested in, she likes because she’s attracted to them. Which is dangerously close to classic “omg so you’re attracted to literally every woman?” Type lesbophobia.

I have female characters who I like and am attracted to, and I have female characters who I like and am not attracted to. Same with F/F ships. Because yes I’m a lesbian, but I’m also a normal person (a lot of people seem to forget that homosexuals are just like anybody else). If I can have female characters and ships I like without being attracted to them despite being a lesbian, it makes sense that I can have male characters and ships that I like without being attracted to them. And that goes for every other lesbian. So it’s very confusing to me when I see people acting like being a fan of a character or ship automatically translates into being attracted to them…when that’s just not the case. You can like something without wanting to fuck it.

So usually when an imaginary friend is a real thing in a story, it’s either a demon or a ghost or some supernatural boogeyman that probably wants to eat the kid they’ve befriended (Mama, a couple of the Paranormal Activity movies), or “imaginary friends” are just treated as a real thing in the setting, and if a child just thinks hard enough they can manifest a friend into existence (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Happy).

And somewhere in the middle is an area where the imaginary friend in question is real and they are supernatural, but they aren’t malevolent, and they aren’t entirely honest about what they are. Like maybe they’re a fairy or a god or some kind of boggle from mythology, but they just got caught by a six year old and they don’t have time to get into it, so they just go “…Yes. I’m your imaginary friend. We haven’t met. How do you do.” And then they stick around because they do love this kid, and if you’re a boggle from mythology in the modern day good food is really hard to come by.

And at some level. That’s what I think Hobbes is.

it concerns me that people really don’t know that adhd isn’t a personality type or behavioral problem.

adhd isn’t someone who’s personality is driven by fun and disorder.

adhd is someone who’s brain goes all over the place looking for dopamine, because it doesn’t make or register enough of it, and when it finds a source of dopamine, it hyperfixates on it. it’s about deregulation of attention as well as emotions.

it’s not a person who can’t behave. a person with adhd can look like a lot of things. misconceptions about what adhd looks like kept me from even looking for a diagnosis, and it also kept myself and others (professionals, even) from taking my suspicions seriously.

Thanks for the ask! Tbh I‘m not sure if anyone truly could? The one with the best chances might be Violet. Though at the current point in time, it’s more of a "Captain America lifting it slightly"- moment. Red might’ve been fully able in the past, but not anymore. And it definitely ain’t any of the others lol

As for why those two oc’s:

Violet might have a "Captain America lifting it slightly"- moment, due to having some traits that check out, but aren’t fully there yet, and might actually fully lift it at the climax of/post-[character arc I‘ll totally write someday that’s currently smth along the lines of growing into the duties needed to do but without conforming to the shackles that were attached to it, and being more than just a means to an end]. But the problem is that the "right“ thing to do might not always be the ideal one, and there’s enough situations that just don’t have any, the greater good isn’t always the greatest good, which might lead to being unworthy again.

Meanwhile Red‘s backstory is being the paragon hero trope, which basically fits perfectly, but her present story‘s the struggle from everyone else only seeing her as said trope, and not seeing or wanting the person behind it. Causing a conflict between wanting to be worth their faith, but also hating what it means, leading Red to see herself as unworthy of that faith a bit. So, despite seemingly being the obvious choice, I don’t think she’d actually be able to properly lift it, due to that doubt. Should that inner conflict get resolved, then totally, though.

Mage, Deniz and Yel ain’t gonna happen. Yel runs away from problems (literally), Deniz is very much a "you reap what you sow“ type of person who also puts his own survival first, and Mage is prone to backstabbing and angry breakdowns when cornered. The first and latter‘s also got at least a bit of a drive to protect things deemed important to him despite them, but absolutely not enough to overshadow the other things in any way. With Deniz, there’s not even a despite. Putting himself in total danger just to save his necklace and miscalculated, completely getting f-ed? Should’ve just planned better, that’s absolutely on him.

That being said I do have 2 deities on the sidelines (who’re in desperate need of a redesign lol) So there’s always the mythological version to drop back to. But for the regular Marvel version…what even makes someone able to lift that hammer? It sure as heck isn’t personality since Thor had no problem being a prick before the first movie and Fortnithor was still deemed worthy too, plus for the comics there‘s 298 worthy people listed on the marvel wiki and a lot of them are either alternative Thors, regular people, straight up evil, otherwise questionable, and like 7 Lokis? Closest thing to an actual answer was "striving to be and doing good for others, not your own glory“ and "being worth of all the faith others put in you“ (which doesn’t check out with anything else, but when was the last time continuity ever really mattered in comics XD). It’s that second one that drove a bit of the choices above.

Honestly, Damian is so disappointed in his father right now. And his so-called siblings. The friends allies he had made over the years and he had been swapping multiple times, and still they hadn’t realized. Danyal was as pale as a corpse, closer to Drake for Pit’s sake! Jordan had red eyes! Elena was a girl! Respawn had white hair! Surely someone noticed- thank fuck, hello Todd, no he’s not on patrol, listen, listen, he needs you to know that Father? Blind. An idiot! The others more so! Yes yes, they’ve been doing their single-person trick, but surely someone should have caught on yes? And they haven’t- Oh? i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.

two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!

Anakin’s love and marriage to Padmé wasn’t the issue of why he fell to the dark side. He was already being groomed by Palpatine in becoming his apprentice, and Padmé not being there wouldn’t have changed that. She just made it easier. Anakin was born a slave, which doesn’t leave him in the right headspace, and ever since Shmi died, Anakin became more unstable. Inevitably, he became more obsessed with control and wanting the power to stop the ones he loves from dying. Had Padmé not been in his life, Anakin still would have fallen due to Palpatine’s manipulations and topped with the Jedi’s mistreatment of Anakin. The Jedi and even OW failed Anakin in a way where Anakin came to a point where he doubts their faith in him, and he in return loses his trust him them. He says so himself in the ROTS novel. None of that had anything to do with Padmé.

But to insinuate that Anakin only cared for gaining “power” and essentially his “greed” is to blame for his actions, is super reductive understanding of his character. Yes, Anakin was greedy for control, and power. But not because he’s power hungry and wants to rule the galaxy. He only ever wanted more power to keep his loved ones safe, to assume control over what happens to him. (and this would’ve happened even if he and Padmé weren’t together.) saying that if Anakin “truly cared about saving his wife”, he would have told OW or any of the masters about his situation but didn’t because he was “greedy” is again, incorrect. Because Anakin DID go to the Jedi for advice. He talked to Yoda. Anakin put his faith into the Jedi but they didn’t exactly lead him down the path he needed.

Doubled with the fact that he knows the Council doesn’t trust him, and him not being sure he can trust them, (yes, including OW.) this led him to seeking answers in other and more dangerous places. Which was Palpatine. Whom Anakin is already vulnerable to and was being groomed by. Anakin’s fall to the darkside was due to his desperation and desire to save his wife, the love of his life. Not because he was greedy for more power and that he didn’t truly care about saving Padmé. That’s just a bad analysis of his character, intentions, and motivations. Anakin only became obsessed with the idea of “gaining power to rule and obtain authority” happened AFTER he fell. And that’s because the darkside plays with your sanity like that, makes you want and do things you normally wouldn’t do or want.

The main point is: Anakin’s fall doesn’t stem from his greed for wanting power because he seeks heroism, status, and authority. It was out of genuine love and desperation for his wife. Then again, his marriage to Padmé also isn’t to blame for his fall, because that was due to Anakin’s own fear of loss and abandonment. He would’ve fallen under any circumstance, with how unstable, vulnerable, and manipulated he was. That was the tragedy. He was always doomed to fall.
