Lark

He can keep some things alive. Plants specified for brown thumbs basically. There are fruit trees growing naturally on the island as well as berries and nuts. He also does have a snake head plant he specifically kept in his house and has managed to keep thriving. It's the only 'house plant' that he's kept alive currently.

Ninat

Ninat is a casual plant keeper. Hardly plants that can be ignored are good for him. His main nest/home gets a lot of light. If he actually had the time to properly garden for food then he would be pretty decent at it. Not an expert, but he could grow enough for himself.

The Larks and Being Sick

Cole

Will still try to push themself to perform, but even they have their limits

Conks the hell out when they’re sick, and they’ll sleep for hours (Perrine thought they died once)

Loses their voice. Thinks they’ll never be able to sing again.

Hand tremors won’t let them play their instrument

Gets flustered easily with a lot of affection and care (like if they have to be spoon fed because they’re too weak to hold a bowl themself)

Tries to deter cuddles because they don’t want to get anyone else sick

Emetophobic, and ends up making themself more sick by stressing out over possibly throwing up

Clementine

Super cuddly when they’re sick (usually SOMEONE gets sick after them because they were cuddling)

Mainly because they get really bad chills, so they just want to snuggle up to someone to keep warm

Quiet and mumbly

However, they will ramble deliriously when their fever gets too high

PILED with blankets (which Perrine will have to confiscate so they don’t get overheated, much to their dismay)

Kingsley

A big whiny baby when he’s sick

SUPER overdramatic

“I’M DYING!!!” “You have a cold.”

There’s sometimes a little bit of a “boy who cried wolf” situation with him, where he dramatizes how sick he is, but the others would never leave him to fend for himself, even after all the stuff he pulls for fun

When he has to be spoon fed because he’s too weak from the sickness, he’ll somehow find the strength to make a joke like “chop, chop, peasant!” (Perrine once considered pouring the water she was helping him drink over him)

When he’s really sick, he’s super lethargic, and it’s jarring to see him so worn out when he’s usually the most energetic in the group

Likes to lay his head into the lap of one of the others so they’ll play with his hair, soothing him

Will sometimes force himself into the lap of one of the others (mainly Perrine because she’s the big sibling of the group)

Perrine

Hates being taken care of, so she will act like she’s perfectly fine (she’s not)

Will refuse any and all help until she physically can’t move anymore—and even then, she’ll be stubborn

Pulls out the “but I’m the oldest!” card whenever anyone tries to take care of her

“You’re sick.” “No, I’m not.” “You’re burning up.” “I’m naturally warm.” “You’re shaking.” “It’s just a little cold.” “You literally just threw up.” “I meant to do that.”

She worries about the others when she’s sick in bed. What if something happens? What if they burn the house down while cooking?

Cuddly when she’s ill, but she doesn’t go out of her way to ask for any affection. However, she certainly won’t refuse any…

Easily becomes a little stir crazy from laying in bed. She also gets bored fast. She’s wasting so much time just laying around!

Wears her mask 24/7 to hide how pale and flushed she is from fever (the mask is making her sweat bullets)

Once threw up on stage and then passed out mid-performance because she underestimated how bad she felt (everyone was in a state of shock. she had to be dragged offstage by Cole and Clementine while Kingsley distracted the crowd)

Another time she was making breakfast for the group and fainted, and when she woke up, she was covered in oatmeal from managing to bring the bowl down with her

Would rather starve or die of dehydration than have one of the others spoon feed her

One time, ALL of the kids were sick at once, but Perrine pushed through it to take care of the others (she felt like death after, but anything for her friends)

Ren: I agree. It's never a good sign. We should be ready for something.

Nora: Oh you know usually things never stay quiet for long especially when we're right next door to the main characters.

Pyrrha: And speaking of the devil.

A large sounds resembling explosion came from across the hallway. The door starts to violently shakes and rose petals soon violently burst into the room. Even with Yang putting all her strength into the door. Some rose petals still managed to get inside.

Yang: .... I think we're in the clear now.

Pyrrha: What just happened?

Yang: Eh, promise not to freak out?

Jaune: Okay, I guess...

Yang: Good enough. *shows team JNPR the source of the roses*

Meadowlark Headcanons

• Kingsley stresses the group out but the person most effected by it is Cole. Perrine worries about it obviously but they are mostly used to their shenanigans and Clementine trusts that they will keep themselves safe (I also like to think that they join Kingsley with some of their shenanigans)

• Because of this, I think Cole can’t spend much time alone with Kingsley without feeling like their about to have a heart attack

• Clementine enjoys collecting ceramic figurines, specifically of animals like cats, ducks, etc. Additionally, I think it would like collecting tea sets (mainly from second hand stores since money can be tight sometimes)

• Perrine rarely lets their hair down. The only time they let their hair down is when they shower or bathe. The rest of the time they have it braided (they are very tender headed because of this)

• I think Clémentine would really enjoy scrapbooking. I can imagine them being the one to take pictures of the others while they hang out and it creating beautiful collages to forever immortalize the memories. It’s an activity they do alone most of the time since I don’t think the others would be all that interested in scrapbooking (Maybe Cole but idk)

• This isn’t really a headcanon but Kingsley reminds me of Louise Belcher from Bobs Burgers. Maybe not as intense as Louise but still, whenever I picture Kingsley in my mind and how they would act I basically picture Louise

• Perrine usually has dirty hands since they do most of the dirty work around the sanctuary. They also have tough calluses on its hands because of this

• Adding onto the previous headcanon, Clémentine sees their hands and offers to clean them for it. Perrine is hesitant at first but Clémentine forces them in the end. I think they would also paint Perrine’s nails but it chips off quickly due to all the work they do

• I’m not sure if parts of our history is canon in Meadowlark but Kingsley seems like the type of kid to really like dinosaurs. Not just a normal amount, I mean a complete dinosaur nerd. Tbh I think they’d like any type of reptile, it truly doesn’t matter to them

• Perrine doesn’t like insects. They aren’t exactly afraid of them but if one were to crawl on them they’d feel uneasy. However it would rather die than admit this to anyone

• Also, if an insect were to ever get into the sanctuary, Perrine would be the one to deal with it (Mainly because they want to seem tougher)

• Cole has the worst spice tolerance out of the group. They probably find too much pepper spicy

• I might be projecting on this one but Cole would probably enjoy panna cotta. It’s fairly plain with just a slight sweetness to it so it seems like something they would like. However, they would take it plain without much if any berry sauce

• Adding onto the Clémentine and Perrine nail headcanon, I think Clémentine would throw spa days sometimes for the whole group. Facial masks, pedicures, haircare, etc. However I’m not sure how much the others would enjoy it

• Cole probably doesn’t mind too much, they just like spending time with Clémentine. Perrine goes along with it but they don’t like spending the whole day doing nothing so they get antsy after a while. Kingsley.. idk they probably get bored and run off to do their own thing

I like Yealokre and Clemmie is my favorite, so I made headcanons for them! :) ꧁✬◦°⋆⋆°◦. ◦°⋆⋆°◦✬꧂

-Clemmie is always holding hands with Cole, whether its just on a short stroll through a meadow or sleeping in a field, their hand is always interlocked with theirs. Cole adores it, because they just like being near their partner. :)

-They love dancing! They'll take the other's hands and spin around while Cole sings or just dance to imaginary music in their head.

-They can draw, but not very well. They'd probably draw a cute little crayon-colored picture of the Lark. It's very precious.

-I know a lot of people tend to think of Perrine as the 'Mom Friend', but I feel like Clemmie has a lot of motherly tendencies. Not in a 'controlling the chaos' way, more like a nurturing and soft way. They'd probably tend to Kingsley's wounds whenever they would hurt themselves doing something dumb and tuck the others in at night (despite being the second-youngest.)

-They pick flowers and give it to people they love. Cole has an entire bouquet of them that only gets bigger every day, and the others have ranging sizes of them.

-They're a bit of a crybaby, but more like a happy crier. They'll just get so overjoyed that they'll tear up, which will immediately send Cole into a panic because they hate seeing anyone cry. Even then, they aren't an ugly crier. They somehow make crying look angelic.

-They use pet names for everyone, but have specialized ones for Cole ('my little rabbit, cherub, angel eyes') and refers to everyone else with equally sweet ones. ('love, sweet one, little one')

-They will 'adopt' bugs by picking them up off the ground softly and carrying them around. They've probably also made a little home for various insects they found. (Cole is terrified of bugs, so its very well hidden.)

Lark is so funny when she’s drunk. She’s such a light weight too. One glass of wine or a couple of shots and she’s gone.

Very much “ I’m not drunk you’re drunk!” And also rambles about how much she loves her friends and feelings are hard when you’re sober.

The twins keeps doing the switcheroo thing 30% because it's funny 70% because their laundry is always mixed together and they can't bother finding their own. They're the same height and build and sometimes Lark likes putting on Sparrow's flowy pants and skirts and crop tops when it's hot. Sparrow uses Lark's joggers and tanks and running shoes when he goes to the gym. At one point the guys enforced a name tag system because the twins kept playing into it.

The Larks and Swimming

There’s a river that they all like to hang out at

Kingsley once jumped into the water and thee resurfaced with an entire turtle (“what do i do with him” “PUT HIM BACK!!!”)

Cole is a surprisingly good swimmer!

But they WILL freak out if something even slightly slimy brushes their toes

Perrine can swim enough to not die

But she’s not very good at treading water

She will also freak out if something touches her feet

Kingsley likes to grab their feet underwater to scare them

Clementine is just straight vibing

They ABSOLUTELY play mermaids, are you kidding me?

Kingsley makes the most overpowered mermaid and upsets Cole because “no, that’s not fair to everyone else!” (i just know Cole takes pretend way too seriously)

Perrine is always very wary and a little shy about playing pretend due to how she grew up, but she ALWAYS gets into it the most

The others are happy to see her acting so carefree and joyful

They play Marco Polo, but Kingsley cheats by just getting out of the water

Chicken fights, right?

Perrine has accepted that she’ll always be on the bottom

But then Clementine is like “i gotchu, sib”

Perrine and Clementine? terrifying duo

Kingsley gets fucking DECKED by Perrine

She plays to win

Kingsley gets Cole on his shoulders, but he’s short, so he just drowns if he goes too deep

Y’all know how penguins will bring rocks to their mates? That’s Clementine and Cole

Clementine brings Cole all the pretty rocks they find in the water and shore

Cole ends up going home with like twenty rocks (they keep all of them in a special antique box in their room)

Kingsley starts mud fights where he just slings giant globs of mud at everyone (this always pisses Perrine off)

Cole, without fail, gets sunburned every single time, no matter how much sunscreen they put on (or whatever the whimsy forest version of sunscreen is)

Clementine constantly reminds everyone to drink water

Perrine always forgets

Kingsley swims with his eyes open underwater and then complains about his eyes hurting

One time, the kids were traversing some rocks in the water, and Perrine slipped and busted her ass on said rock, cracking her tailbone in the process

The other kids were all like 😟😬

She was fighting back tears while saying she was fine (she couldn’t sit down without being in agony for two weeks) (yes this is a projection what of it)

Kingsley pretends to drown to see if anyone would notice

There’s this rock in the river that they can climb up and jump off of

Cole gets football tackled off of it by Kingsley (Kingsley then gets scolded for it after because Cole almost had a heart attack)

Kingsley purposely aims for other people when he jumps off

Perrine is so ungraceful trying to simply climb up to the top of it

Clementine catches a frog and brings it to the top of the rock

All the kids hail it as King Frog
