"Who's Hotter?" White Haired Boys

First, Queer Week.

It's interesting that they brought this representation to the show, both in terms of probably pink money or maybe even for the story.

Which brings me to, Second, The drag queen and Tristan.

I loved their conversation and the fact that Tristan really doesn't know. He's not black or a drag queen, he doesn't know what she went through and I loved the fact that she tried to make him understand that with their conversation, even though it was really a venting about what had happened to her and how it affected her because it was her image, her femininity, not just a wig. I confess, I wanted more of their conversation, but it makes sense that it happened the way it did. And I loved the scene of her coming back at the end being her without a wig and just her. (I'm referring to him with female pronouns, I don't know if I should but it's how I think the character would like to be called, I don't remember the episode or if she referred to herself with him in character, so if I'm wrong and it sounds disrespectful, it wasn't my intention.)

Third, Tristan and his whole vibe. He's not straight.

In the entire episode there was more than one scene of him preening himself under the gaze of the queer men on the cruise, like how he told Avery that "I was going to say amazing" and how the conversation with Avery came after Max admitted he wanted to marry a woman. Speaking of him, I really feel like he has a repressed bisexuality (or pan, or maybe even demi aro, I think it's unlikely, but point made), the way he acted only reinforced that point, as far as being looked at, receiving attention and being liked by both genders as maybe being looked at. Besides him calling himself a Twunk (slang for a young, thin but muscular gay or queer man - according to Google)

Fourth, the Trisal.

Avery tries to get the three of them back together even if it's just for sex and can't. She wants to. Max came up with this thing about being a traditionalist. He runs away to the middle of the sea, gets involved with the employee and then again with two employees (the sex scene was left for the picture, but even if Max and Tristan didn't touch each other it's still considered involvement) and says the thing "I want to marry the woman/person I love, have children" but being so open to another Trisal. A traditionalist wouldn't have gotten involved in a threesome, or would support another, or would be so open to living with queers for a week (or in other situations. I may be following stereotypes regarding traditionalist people, but at least that's the context I see with him saying that in that scene in that way).

Fifth, Avery's conversation with Tristan.

(Being a brazilian with half-assed English, I confess that I didn't understand much of what he was saying in relation to UK potatoes, so I'll go by the context). The issue of sharing Avery's love for her and his saying "it makes me sick" (I loved the acting and the intonation) is already a whole step towards the fact that this could again become a triangle, or simply generate a lot of anguish. In Tristan's view, it would be him and her and Max and Avery, and not all three together (assumptions) and that would be sharing the person he loves.

Sixth, their chemistry as a poly relationship is incredible and it would be such a missed opportunity to turn it into a triangle and end with a couple (2), in addition to missing the opportunity for unusual representation in series like these. It would drive away the homophobes, but as seen with 911 they don't give a damn, so why miss the chance to bring them all together? to put a kiss between Max and Tristan on screen?

Seventh, Captain and his brother + threesome. Even though he's old, "traditionalist?", he's still open-minded and learns community slang and tries to get involved in his brother's relationship. I thought their threesome was cute, and how even though the couple had met before, they seemed connected and how in the end it didn't end with them breaking up because of any movement or with a bad relationship between brothers regarding alcoholism and the sugar thing that caused it.

Eighth, about the next episode (which I haven't seen yet, so I'm anxious to know if I'm right in my thinking).

Avery getting pregnant and how it almost doesn't make sense considering she had sex with a doctor and a nurse who know very well how babies are made (where did you put the condom?). I don't think that if this pregnancy was real and not just a test error or something, she'll keep the baby. She dreams of being a doctor, studying medicine and working in the field and having a baby would only delay that as well as her future, why a child and college? Sure, she has the chance to deliver the baby and put it up for adoption. I think her decision will be the same regardless of who the father is (Max is the obvious choice, so maybe they'll cast Tristan, but probably Max). Of course this will affect the father differently, Max worse because he dreams of having children probably more than Tristan (having had a wife, which was highlighted in the last episode) and because there's a power difference in his relationship with his employee.

Ninth, accident. From what the preview showed, a patient and Max and Avery looking worried, I'm hoping something went wrong with Tristan, because I honestly want more focus on him and him as part of the threesome and the team. The show focuses a lot on Max and Avery, and I love them, but mommy issues would be perfect and fit so well with ABC (Hello, is this Evan Buckley? Maddie Buckley-Han? Eddie Diaz? Athena Grant? Henrietta Wilson?). In this case, it would open up so many opportunities for a conversation between Max and Tristan (not leaving Avery out, but creating development outside of her, you know) about how he was afraid of losing Tristan not only because he was a friend/employee, but as something more romantic. It would probably also affect Avery's decisions regarding the baby if the accident happened after she found out and if it really is Tristan, because the chances of it not being Tristan are 99.99%.

nah i think its so silly that the umbrum and a bunch of other implied terrible no good creatures are trapped in the crystal, but when the literal protection crystal heart breaks ONLY the winter storms come?? NAH! at least SOMETHING is breaking out if not more than one. especially when sombra is known to constantly be reforming even when he's been disintegrated to nothing. even the smallest opportunity is going to he taken.

"Who's Hotter?" Battle of the White Haired Characters

First, that dialogue. "I don't know how Athena must be feeling right now" and "I don't know how Bobby must be feeling" (or something like that), because Eddie knows what it's like to be on a plane (a helicopter, anyway) that's going down and before I had made the connection that he didn't know how Bobby was feeling because he wasn't on the other side, not knowing how his partner was in the moment, then I remembered Buck and still, because every time either he was there at the moment or only found out after it happened (like the tsunami).

Second, did I mention that I loved the cinematography of this season? Because I loved the whole scene on the road, Buck on a motorcycle, the one with the flare, I'm loving it.

Third, did I expect a little more from 118? Yes, because of the photos but still so perfect.

Fourth, Buck on a motorcycle.

Fifth, of course the one who saved the day was a probably autistic kid with a great hyperfocus on planes who in the end thought he wouldn't make it but did.

Sixth, "killed a fiancé, saved a husband" plot.

Seventh, omg I loved Eddie's face when Gerrard hugged Buck, and omg I feel like this is going downhill hug.

Eighth, let me see, Tommy "my racist, homophobic, sexist and all that bad ex-captain who was also one of the reasons I stayed in the closet and was horrible to Hen and Chim and who knows who else hugged you?" Kinard. Yeah, I see that.

First, forget it, I'm starting to get "disliked" about Avery, but she's so gorgeous.

Second, this "Ken" is definitely hitting on Max and he's playing along, okay? I want at least a kiss.

Third, HOLY SHIT, I wanted a kiss and the guy dies????? and okay, more about Max's past but like, what the fuck????? what happened?

Fourth, Tristan's mom is drama, jesus, mommy issues, so relatable.

Fifth, I really can't get into Avery/Max, but at least the triangle seems to be over.

Seventh, I need Tristan to do a sea rescue involving surfing in some way.

Asta x Noelle: A ship that makes sense and compel’s me! I really enjoy them even though I don’t write about them often 😆. I enjoy how they kind of push each other, and how they inspire each other! Asta never let Noelle’s rough edges and “prissy” attitude get to him, and Noelle realized she didn’t always have to have her guard up around him because he (along with the other bulls) believed in her! I just really love their opposites attract and their dynamic with each other 🥰!

Thoughts on Black Clover, so far!

Finished the anime till Ep. 65 / Spoilers if you haven't watched till there!

I'm really loving the show so far, especially the last 3 episodes (63, 64, 65) like they all are personally some of my super favourites in all that I have seen.

The characters are great, well-written and rounded, which I love. The Black Bulls are growing on me with time and backstories, and I really like Vanessa now! She's amazing.

One thing I noticed is the way Asta refers to the female members of the Black Bulls – and how it's different from the male ones. It's usually Magna-senpai, Gauche-senpai, Finral-senpai, etc. with them but in the girls, it's just

Charmy-paisen (exchanging the positions of the kanjis of sen and pai) It's adorable!!

Vanessa-neesan (term for older sister, with respect) and it suits her so well! She's like a caring older sister crossed with a crazy wine aunt attitude 😂

Also, I keep getting minor crushes on all the members everytime a new backstory is revealed lmao.

That's not to say that there are no characters that are just not to my taste. My feelings for Noelle are iffy at best; the tsundere attitude is cute only to a certain extent and definitely not enjoyable when she's hurting a wounded Asta because she is embarassmed about something. I get that it's probably light-hearted humour but it's a little irritating for me.

Also, surprisingly, Yuno. I liked him before, but thinking of certain things he did before, I don't like that he's kinda rude at times. Not in an obvious way, but in minor ways that you can see when he's interacting with Klaus and Bell. He's totally normal and great when it comes to Asta, but I have certain frustrations about him being so closed off to his own teammates. It's fine if he doesn't want to open up his heart, but Klaus is still his senior and if your senior has told you to act in a certain way, you're supposed to follow it. There's a hierarchy in squads for a reason, and Yuno just blatantly disregarding his orders without explanation is a sign that he's either careless, rude or not a team player at all.

Which would be fine, if he wasn't a Magic Knight in a squad. He has to know how to co-operate and co-ordinate with others instead of just doing whatever he wants. I get that superiors and seniors are not always right, but in that case, you're supposed to explain to them why your plan is a better alternative. You're supposed to talk shit out!!

I'm a little disappointed in Yuno for that, but I really hope that in the future episodes, he does learn to do this. He's a super contrast to Asta in that sense, who has by now fought multiple battles in co-ordination with his teammates. All of Yuno's fights (rare as they are) are solo and while he is strong enough to handle things by himself, there will be a day one day when he can't do things by himself. Closing off communication with your teammates will definitely not be helpful then :(

I'm just gonna end this unasked for rant post with a hair down Magna because,, I apparently tend to fall for characters who slick back their hair but look way hotter with their hair down. (side eyes Nishinoya)

I'm here for my monthly post (though I think I'll start being more active here again)

I've been into genshin lately, and I suddenly had that thought, what visions would the black clover characters have?

So here are what visions I think the bc characters would have and why, just for funsies ! Also a disclaimer, the reasons for gaining visions are just what I've searched. I'm not 100% sure if it's canon but I'll go with it for now.

(we're going with Asta, Noelle, Julius, and Mereoleona for today. Maybe I'll do some other characters at some point, ask for characters if you'd like.)

Asta

Geo Vision. At first I thought this guy would have an electro vision because they're given out to people who are perceived as different, and given how Asta has no magic at all and ultimately stands out in the bc-verse, I think that his perseverance to achieve his goal of being wizard king shines out more compared to his magicless-ness.

Geo Visions are characterized by having a very goal someone wants to achieve, it's like fulfilling a contract to achieve that goal in a sense (based on what I've read), and Black Clover as a whole basically revolves on Asta's journey and his determination to becoming wizard king. He's always going "I'm not done yet!" And he's never going to be done until he completes the "contract" he made with himself and to yuno as a kid, not until he either becomes wizard king or proves to everyone that he doesn't need magic to be successful.

Noelle

My baby, my lovely, my number one in everything. My poor princess is getting an anemo vision.

Anemo Visions are characterized by a person wanting to achieve, or who has already achieved, what they perceive as freedom. Noelle has many things that she wants to be free from— the guilt of being the one to 'kill' her mother, the expectations (or lack thereof) of her siblings, or just the terrible shitshow of a life she's had so far. It was also shown from the magic knights exam itself (wherein Nozel tells her that her path is set in stone, and that she has no choice but to go with the bulls) that Noelle doesn't really have much of a say in things, and not much freedom to choose for herself what she wants to do.

Noelle has always been a follower and was never really independent in making choices for her life until she entered the bulls (even then it's like she's not used to making her own choices, so she usually looks at what the bulls do for guidance). There's also that bonus cliché of anemo characters having someone close to them dying, which in Noelle's case it'd be Acier.

Julius

This guy is a dendro user, definitely. At first I thought his passion for magic would give him a pyro vision, but then I realized that his passion is for knowledge. To know the inner workings of the elements and magical technology, and he regularly goes out of his way and avoids his duties just to learn more about as much diverse magic types as he can.

Dendro Visions are characterized by people who seek out knowledge/wisdom, which I think fits Julius perfectly.

Mereoleona

To be honest, it was difficult for me to decide what vision Mereo would have, and in the end I settled for either an electro vision or an anemo vision. All I knew is that it definitely wasn't pyro— and no, it's not because her magic is already fire.

"but Mereo is passionate about getting stronger." And she is! It's one of the main reasons she left clover in the first place. But the thing is, while she does enjoy getting stronger and fighting strong opponents, it is not her sole passion. She left Vermillion Palace because she was a free soul and did not want to be restricted by the duty of being the eldest, or the duty of being a royal in general. The rules set in place in clover also restricting her from growing in the way she wants to. She found following the rules to be too stuffy and was a very free spirit who preferred to take a journey by herself and discover what she could. Mereoleona is not someone that likes being tied down to one place and wants the freedom of going wherever life takes her. By leaving the duties of being captain to her brother and leaving clover, she had in a sense achieved what she sees as freedom, and I think that rewards her an anemo vision.

But I think that electro would suit her as well. Electro visions are characterized by someone being set apart/ notably different from the norm (ex; razor, who was raised by wolves, keqing, who doesn't believe in the existence/divinity of gods, beidou, who defeated a sea beast w/o a vision, etc.) Which is why I thought Asta to be electro at first. Mereoleona would suit an electro vision, I think, because her desire and thirst for strong opponents just ultimately transcends that of a normal humans. After getting her grimoire she essentially became a hermit that lived in the wild, and so the way her personality shaped and how she is as a whole is so wildly different from how people usually are, from how nobles usually are.

So yeah those are my takes and boy did I have fun writing all that. :DD
