Adding to this rant post, but with minor Teeth of God spoilers.
The fact that Tier 4 came with typed out Director's Notes irks me. Firstly, it was framed like the notes were extra content and not included in the Graphic Novel. Pretty much everyone I know who bought Tier 4 purchased that option because we thought it was exclusive. Instead, those who purchased Tier 4 paid $80.00 US more than Tier 3 for a coin, a temporary tattoo, and a manila folder with printer paper.
Secondly, I just know so many people are having trouble reading that handwriting, because I write in a similar lazy, "half-cursive," scrawling style. I feel like it's a neat concept but poorly executed in the sense that only Tier 4 got a clear transcription of the Director's Notes, while others are struggling and some have to make transcriptions.
Thirdly, I have an opposite problem with the Tier 4 notes because the paper is literally budget printer paper (from what I've seen) and the last Director's note doesn't include the scattered TMBTE alphabet in it. Not only is it something you can literally print out yourself with 30 minutes of transcribing, but you also lose half of the effect of the transformation the Director is going through.
Anyway, I just wanted to rant about that as well but didn't want to drop any spoilers in the first post. I also wanted to ask if anyone else thinks they might actually have been written by Vessel 👀

trick or treat!🐺🐺🐺🎃🎃<3
AWOOOO Happy Spookmas!! 🐺🐺🐺
okay, i'm not actually writing more of this rn, i'm not, i can't let what happened with intricate rituals happen again, werewolf fic is #1 in my heart, i swear--
that being said have more little red riding hood au:
“Tim,” Jason realizes, and he relaxes his grip a fraction, though he doesn’t remove it entirely. His lungs still scream in his chest after the nightmare, and he does nothing to curb his harsh tongue. “What are you doing in my rooms?” Tim’s eyes, huge and yellow in his face, flicker blue as he glances away. “I got lost.” It’s the boldest lie Jason’s ever heard. “Don’t play with me,” Jason growls. Not again. “Like hell you did. You know this house as well as I do by now. Don’t try to deny it— even if you don’t, I know you can smell me.” “I can hear you, too,” Tim admits quietly, his eyes still downcast. Jason breathes in sharply, taking his meaning. Rage grips him, red-hot with embarrassment over the violation of his privacy. Over being heard. “What big fucking ears you have,” Jason hisses. “So you thought you’d just barge in, then? You thought—” “I thought you needed help,” Tim cuts in sharply. Still, he’s limp beneath Jason’s fists. Still, he doesn’t look at him. He isn’t biting back, and it’s infuriating. “I know now that I was wrong.”
(For the trick or treat ask game! Send me a trick or treat ask and I'll share jaytim WIP snippets, or new 3-sentence -paragraph fics, etc :^) through the 31st!)

I think you explained something I've been pondering over for a while, namely why so many loustat fic writers hates lestat lol. Like I'm always taken aback by how often lestat is written as louis' sex toy who only exist to serve him and fulfill his (self-insert) fantasies or an evil patriarchal abuser who needs to be punished (or both). There's so many other ships they could pour ttheir energy into, if they truly see him as an evil racist abuser and louis as his helpess victim why even ship them. I'm actually fascinated by this fandom Christian-like obsession with punishment, paying for your sins, martydom and having an redemption arc. I find it interesting that people who consider themselves to be atheists and are anti-religion still succumb to this mentality. The prevalence of fics when louis needs to punish lestat (apparently killing him wasn't enough), make him suffer, lestat has to grovel at his feet, stop killing humans and only then he will deserve pure moral louis and then they will be "even". I find this attitude to be so immature, like this is not how relationships work irl, and yes it's a show about toxic vampires but, in my understanding it was never loustat dynamic to begin with. Something about moral purity in a show about vampires is just so funny to me.
Y'know, I actually think the main reason I've taken a big step back from reading fic and checking ao3 is because a few months ago, I opened two or three Lestat x Louis fics in a row that all had an author's note where the writer said that they hated Lestat. The concept of that alone honestly baffles me - not the hating Lestat part, I don't care what characters people do and don't engage with on the show - but the idea that you could write fic - and fic where Lestat is one half of a relationship - while hating the character is just wild to me. Why are you writing characters you don't like? Why are you shipping characters when you don't like one of them?
I just - - it really shocks me. As someone who's been writing fic for literally 20 years at this point, I can honestly say I've never written for a pairing where I haven't liked one of the characters, and it generates a lot of questions in me about the current state of fandom, the projection, the virtue signalling, the purity culture, and what that dictates about how people are willing to engage with stories.
But yeah, I guess more to your point, I don't disagree. I actually don't necessarily think it's unique to this fandom though? In the last fandom I was super active in - Good Girls - the main ship was a straight one between a gang leader (Rio) and a 'housewife' / mother of four (Beth) who'd resorted to a life of crime and found she had an aptitude for it after her husband lost their house, and there was an enormous sense of Beth needing to be punished sexually and otherwise in fic, especially after she shot Rio in the (admittedly underwritten) s2 finale.
It's kind of funny in that sense, because I have largely put the GG scenario down to internalised misogyny, especially given the volume of fans who watched the show exclusively for Rio, and who ended up feeling like Beth didn't 'deserve him', but it does feel different with IWTV. Not entirely maybe - I do think there's a sense of Lestat needing to 'earn' Louis back for instance which isn't necessarily tied to gender, but tied to a very shallow view of what relationships are, just as I think there is a cultural load and systemic connotations brought to scenes of violence, particularly intimate partner violence, when the person perpetrating is white (i.e. Beth shooting Rio, who is Latino, carries different weight than Rio shooting her white husband, and kidnapping her white sister, same with Lestat dropping Louis vs Louis slitting Lestat's throat + bashing a white man's head in after projecting Lestat's face onto him).
I think that's all important to talk about and to consider and reflect on, just as I think the insane amount of gender essentialism, TERF rhetoric, and feminisation in a gay ship is, but I agree that it feels married to a degree of moral purity and - I'd argue - it gets twisted up simultaneously with fetish, kink and fanon to make a bit of a melting pot of Stuff that feels difficult to reduce to any one thing.
I don't know if I think it's steeped in immaturity exactly - the people I know of writing some of the things that perpetuate a lot of these tropes and who have harrassed me and others I know are mostly in their late 20s and 30s - but I do wonder how much of it is tied to an isolated perspective of relationships and the world? I really do think you can tell when people don't often hear perspectives outside of their own in their day-to-day life, or, hell, I think people tell on themselves more than they realise in how they might phrase things, even on anon. I still joke with my sister about the doxxing attempt I got where one anon asked me if [my sister's first name] knew I wrote BDSM, which was meant as a clear threat, when my sister had literally sent me excerpts of the werewolf porn she was reading that day, lol. We also both talk about sex a lot, so like.
It wasn't an issue for me, but y'know, the sense I got was that the anon obviously thought I should be ashamed and my sister would be disgusted, and like - - I don't know. Most of my friends have read the smut I've written, man, and my sister doesn't care (my brother either now - given I told him what I wrote in the process of all of that, and he now finds it very funny to ask me loudly about my erotic fanfiction when we're on the train, so y'know, haha). It just felt very telling to me about how people like this think, how they feel about sex and smut, and also the relationships they have in their personal lives because, well, I guess from how they act, they wouldn't be talking to people in their real lives about any of this.
Is that Christian puritanicalism, is that immaturity, is that isolation, is that inexperience, is that something else, I don't know! It does feel wide spread in this fandom in particular right now, but I do think it's kind of everywhere, and I think the nature of this show having adapted this story as something both outright queer and diverse is pulling a lot of people towards it who might actually be more interested in the optics than the content.

This is going to be such a newbie ask and a bit weird probably but i can't help myself so without further ado, do we know if Leon fucks canonically? fsfsghjk
HA, no, don't worry anon, it's actually a running joke in the fandom that most re characters seemingly get no action, so that's a pretty fair thing to sit and ponder over lmao.
That said, if we're going by what we have currently and only what re presents us with: og Leon does. Remake Leon is left to your interpretation.
While we never see og Leon explicitly talking about sex, I think it's silly to expect that of your media. Not at all directed at you, anon, but there's been quite a few folks refusing to acknowledge any implicit flirting from him or with him that is obviously implied to be sexual in the context of the scene, to the point of starting bullying campaigns over it. That said, there are quite a few instances of him sharing implicitly sexual innuendos throughout the franchise.
Og Leon's actually pretty explicitly flirty since re4. Be it him asking for Hunnigan's number (which usually implies an interest in potential sexual encounter by the end of it, one that this wonderful woman declines LMAO, good for her), Angela obviously making a pass at him in Degeneration: 'Let's go... diving together again, sometime' (it's pretty obvious what is being implied here, she doesn't have to turn to the camera and say 'Leon, I want us to fuck' to get the message across. He doesn't turn her away btw, his response is: 'Love to'. It wouldn't be at all outrageous to assume that they met up for a date and some fun in the sheets off camera lol), Leon makes a blatant pass at Shen Mei (and no, sorry, 'wanna get dinner when this is all over?' in that context DOES NOT mean 'hey, let's eat some food together like buddies do :3' no matter how much you try to spin it. He blatantly eyes her literally seconds later as she passes him by, wdym. I have no idea why this is such a heated debate in this fandom, I swear. At least he's a gentleman that'll take you out to dinner first!), and, of course, Ada's infamous 'when are we going to... carry on from where we left off that night?' line (anyone who genuinely tries to spin this as some innocent play date with them roasting marshmallows and chatting is being very dishonest with the context of this exchange. Whether you like it or not, they are implied to have had a sexual encounter. Now, the when's and how's are totally up to you, that's the fun of it. For example, I really like the headcanon of him being this grouchy with Ada in Damnation because she blue balled him or something LMAO, it's hilarious to me).
There's nothing wrong with saying: 'I know this scene is supposed to be interpreted X way, but I personally like to view it Y way'. Instead of: 'This scene doesn't actually explicitly state that it's X, so anyone saying that this scene is meant to be interpreted as X is wrong and stupid, and even malicious.'
Remake Leon doesn't have any line of dialogue or interaction that implies previous or implied sexual interaction. Well, maybe aside from him refusing Ada's flirty offer at the very start, but???? It's really a stretch one way or another. I personally don't see him as a virgin, but with remake-verse? It's fair game to think whatever you want here. Go nuts.
Ok, this next section is gonna go off-topic and touch upon fandom criticism, so steer away if you're not in the mood for that today! Hope I answered your question!
All that to say, though... again, not directing this at you specifically anon, but I feel like it must be said that there's nothing wrong with having headcanons or perceptions of a character outside of what canon presents us with. You want Leon to be aversed to sex, maybe headcanon him as asexual/aroace, too? Well, you can. Nothing's stopping you and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Same with Leon being gay. A headcanon that's as old and classic as time itself. Priceless and irreplaceable. Love all gay Leon fans out there, I, too, think he should kiss a man honestly.
That said, if your goal is to analyze the text as it stands instead of just having fun, you have to acknowledge what the canon does say, even if you don't like it, instead of warping it to fit your headcanons, and then go on bullying sprees over it when your ideas are challenged. There are far too many figures in the fandom presenting themselves as trusted and genuine sources of unbiased info going around, warping what implicit interactions he does have with women and presenting it as canon instead of headcanon, which is both disingenuous and harmful in some instances, unfortunately.
And I do wish it never went beyond fandom squabbles, but there have been instances of literal cyber bullying over this, and that's disgusting. That's also why I feel like it's important to point out, too.
Well... this is mostly about lore-related communities, really. If you're just a fan having fun, I don't think it's fair to expect that clarification every single time lmao, especially since us queer fans have to constantly deal with all kinds of bullshit already. This fandom criticism is mostly directed at those people, not regular fans having fun with their headcanons. The 'Leon can't be gay, he likes women only in canon!!!' crowd is just as frustrating to deal with, if not more so. Bonkers that I still encounter those in 2025. Especially when it's about Chris or Wesker, too. Those men are not straight no matter how you look at them./lh

my OLBA MC, Sunny Last ☀️
(his backstory + close ups below)
Step 1 -
Sunny is a very shy and nervous boy, who's easily afraid of strangers (when he first saw Cliff, he ran away) and easily worried. Sunny hates getting in the middle of a conflict and will avoid taking a side if he can. He loves spending time at the beach, collecting seashells, reading books and going to the library, things that will never die down growing up.
When he met Cove, Sunny was initially worried about him, as Cove was crying all alone. Sunny gets fond of Cove and befriends him quickly. As "selfish" as it may sound, Sunny did wish Cove would never go away from Sunset Bird and stay with him.
Sunny doesn't have any romantic feelings towards Cove during that Step though, he only starts developing a crush on him some time before Step 2.
Step 2 -
Sunny remains a nervous person, in fact, it seems he has social anxiety, though he developed a more teasing and snarky side growing up. Whenever he is openly snarky depends on how close you are with him... or how pissed he is at you (side looking at Jeremy), otherwise he keeps whatever he's thinking for himself, like he often does for what he's truly feeling actually (unless your name is Cove Holden (doesn't apply to the subject of romance)). Ironically, he struggles to understand when a stranger is being sarcastic or not. Despite all that, he's someone you can rely on if you need.
His love for literature grew and he kinda wishes to be a writer. In fact, he writes some things sometimes, such as poems or songs that his cousin Lee could sing. While he isn't particularly a sporty guy, he loves surfing, swimming and playing volleyball. At 13, he started getting interested in jewellery specifically, to Lee's greatest joy.
During Step 2, Sunny starts feeling insecure about his physical appearance and doesn't like showing his body that much (but summer is kind of the "worst" season for that specific part). He thinks he's too "scrawny". Also doesn't he look weird for blushing for anything?
He's also conflicted about his feelings towards Cove: during this gap of 5 years, Sunny's feelings for Cove grew into something different than friendship and he doesn't know what to do about it. He never felt this way before, not with anyone else either. He's too scared to say a word about it to Cove directly, he doesn't want to mess up their friendship (classic.).
When it comes to romance in general, concepts like "love at first sight" don't really make sense to him. How can you fall for someone you barely know? Sounds like a myth.
Step 3 -
At 18, Sunny manages a bit more with his social anxiety, though he's still a bit uneasy around people he doesn't know. His snarkiness hasn't tone downed growing up... and sadly for him, his insecurities about his body haven't that much either.
18 years old is probably the age where the contrast between his clothing style and his name is the most ironic and the object of many jokes (none of them are ill-intended of course). But wearing black clothes won't change the fact he's his moms' little sunshine!
His interest for jewellery turned into the hobby of making hand-made jewellery, mainly with seashells, sea glass or pearls.
During Step 3, Sunny is now afraid of the future. He does have some projects for the future: going to college, specifically for studying literature and hopefully working in the writing industry (not necessarily as a writer like he wanted to at 13, just as long as he can write). And he was happy to find a part time job in the library he always loved. However, all of that means leaving Sunset Bird one day, and he's scared of that. He always lived in the same place, with his moms, with Cove as his next door neighbor, ... And Elizabeth leaving for college was already something... How much will things change?
About his relationship with Cove: Sunny knows for certain he's in love with him. But God forbid he actually tells him how he actually feels.
He also figured out his sexuality: he's gay and demiromantic (oooh so that's why love at first sight felt like a complete myth...)!
Step 4 -
His personality hasn't changed that much since Step 3 but one thing that changed is that he managed to outgrow a little bit his habit to hide his negative feelings from others, at least to a less extreme level. His social anxiety is still present of course, but he learned to live with it. He also learned how to love himself and feel comfortable with his body! It was hard but he did it!
Living away from Sunset Bird was also hard, very hard at first, especially since Cove confessed his love for Sunny at the end of the summer and then they had to be separated for long times. But it seems nothing could break their bond.
Sunny got a 4 years English literature degree and works pretty much on freelance writing now. (I'm not sure myself yet tbh, that may change in the future.)
the close ups!

"You've been following me since I arrived, haven't you?"
--Ed (@not-that-dillinger)
Raye stopped in his tracks, trying - and failing - to hide his shocked expression. He quickly shifted his gaze downward, avoiding eye contact as he searched for an excuse.
He supposed, now that Ed caught him, that his hiding spot wasn't that great. His attempt to find somewhere inconspicuous only made him stick out like a sore thumb. The fact that he was hiding at all made it harder for him to find a good reason to be following Ed without destroying the whole point of doing so.
He stepped out of the shadows, finally glancing back up at Ed. He tried to keep a straight face, adjusting his coat.
"Yes, I have," He confessed, though immediately regretted it. This was the most idiotic plan he'd ever come up with.
"But I can't say why. All I can say is that it's for good reason."

Sorry to bug you, but could you give me the cliffs notes on what happened to Best and Chahub and the issues with 9naa? Thank you
Sure thing!
So basically when Best and Chahub's series Check Out first aired on iqiyi it was unavailable to watch in many countries. This prompted the director of the series to give an interview saying that the series was too explicit to show on any other platform such as youtube, and that they were looking into maybe broadcasting it via onlyfans.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with onlyfans and what it's used for, but you could argue that it's a very strange thing to say for a professional director who would probably be better off showing his series on other platforms more suited to traditional longform entertainment (like gagaoolala, the patron saint of queer media 🙏).
Add to that that pornography is illegal in Thailand, and any mentioning of it in an actor's portfolio is probably... not that great.
The director further said that during the filming of the intimate scenes they decided to do away with all protective clothing because it just couldn't be done otherwise (decades of spicy scenes in film beg to differ but ok). The actors were fully naked. They didn't decide this beforehand but directly on set. Many fans have later speculated that due to the stressful and time-sensitive nature of a film set, this might have been coercive and exploitative.
The scenes that were later shown in the series were actually not especially spicy. Certainly not spicy enough to call them "25+". Actually, they were so unremarkable (as far as spicy scenes go) that the series has since been re-released on youtube (albeit probably as a cut version? I'm not sure. I haven't watched it) - the very platform 9naa was so sure would ban them if they even so much as looked at the upload button.
Throughout the whole shock value promotion (because what else could it possibly have been?) the actors themselves stayed strangely quiet. They're apparently on record saying that they value their intimate scenes as art. That's it. There was no further promo. There were no follow-up jobs. Best and Chahub weren't in the special ep (according to mdl Best was but I can't remember him showing up hm). They were either quietly dropped by 9naa or bid their time until their contracts expired.
None of this is especially scummy or even illegal (at least as far as we know). It does leave a sour aftertaste however, because companies like 9naa always have the upper hand over their actors. A lot would have to happen for an (inexperienced) actor to speak up because breaking contracts and NDAs would mean losing their jobs and potentially being blacklisted and/or sued (even Yoon Phusanu only came forward after Y.Ent had already broken contract by not paying him until a set date).
So if a company makes weirdly sensational claims that they later either conveniently forget about or passive-aggressively backtrack on, then that's weird. If they show no interest in promoting their own talent and have a strangely high turnover rate for rookie actors, then that's even weirder.
And this isn't an isolated case. 9naa had a whole series planned with MFlow Entertainment. Beyond the Star was supposed to star actors from both companies, only for MFlow to later finish and broadcast the series on their own due to "differences in vision and work attitudes", editing out as many of 9naa's actors as they could. Weird, don't you think?
And, most recently, Cheque Wacharawee (from 9naa's Venus in the Sky) withdrew from any follow-up projects in a letter posted to his instagram because he had concerns due to work attitudes and couldn't even reach 9naa's lawyer (notice that he too only spoke up after 9naa had already violated his contract). 9naa reacted days later with their own very subdued announcement that has since been deleted. Very, very weird.
Who do you think is to blame here? The actors (most of whom are inexperienced and in Chahub's case haven't really acted since), MFlow (a small but reliable company that makes series that aren't always the most cohesive but at least the actors seem happy 🙏) or 9naa who's at the centre of it all?
Personally, as a fan of both Best Vittawin and Cheque Wacharawee, I've decided to no longer support or watch anything by 9naa. Kiseki Chapter 2 sounds nice and I hope its leads are doing well. Maybe the company has since learned from their previous unprofessionalism but people should at least be aware that they have something of a shady track record.
And if you want to support Best, you can watch his new series Knock Knock Boys which is set to release soon. 💜

So i had another new age thought. Also yes hi i am back again and i just like sending you asks lmao.
Anyway. Remember how we agreed that once nightmare trusted and knighted killer he would be send on a mission to get more info/stuff/reminders of ccino's past life?
And how before we agreed he would find it boring?
Now with the whole crush and in love situation
Killer would be EXCITED for this mission
Finding stuff about ccino?! His family?! Sign him the fuck up- wait.what will you do with that information?
Nightmare: safeguard it obviously?
Killer: okay cool! When do i leave?
Because if nightmare was gonna destroy it killer would have 100% hidden the info away and reconsider those running away fantasies- I MEAN! plans again.
That was all. That was the thought lmao.
Ohoho- Killer would be SO pumped for it- I can't believe I forgot that with the crush plot line he'd be super curious... the him abd Ccino not getting along plotting is definitely more of a farce now, so ofc he'd be invested!
And... you can't tell me this man didn't immediately snoop. Like, he knows it's bad, he knows he shouldn't, but Ccino is one big mystery to him so of course he's going to try and find out more! And he gets a peek at the names of his parents, the old bakery they used to run, where he used to live, the whole nine yards. Do you think he found the death certificates of his parents and saw the cause of death was a housefire? He's pretty sure Ccino would've been really young when it happened, too. Do you think he went to the address out of curiosity and saw that the lot was still empty? (Taboo to rebuild atop the ashes of sonething burnt by the King, you know) Do you think he got a sense of what happened, even if he really doesn't know at all?
I think we've discussed it before, but Killer is all the more protective over Ccino and even more curious after this mission. He has no right, he knows that, but he can't help but try to look after him. Just!!! These guys!!!!
Also, I didn't get around to doodling them properly, but since I don't want to constantly draw Killer's armor? Here's his and Ccino's comfy/general clothes, as well as the front of Ccino's uniform! (Poorly sketched as always, haha-)
Tumblr media
Killer likes to wear loose clothes, especially jackets. (I forgor to add the gold clasps on the jacket...) Tighter clothes feel like they confine him too much, almost like claustrophobia. For meta-story? The long jackets + oversized clothes are just a habit from his days in the temple, and then later when he and Chara had to steal clothes sizes too large so they could grow into them. I also think that Killer, later in the story, really only has his soul circular when he's in public/training, anytime he's comfy with his family (or ofc Ccino is near) it leans towards soul-shaped. His eyelight likes to pop into place when he's with Ccino :] (<- I WILL forget to draw/write like this. So like. Nbd.)
Ccino's casual fit is usually only for his days off, market shopping, and when he's alone in his cottage. He always keeps his apron and work shirt the same (honestly Nightmare wouldn't mind, but Ccino still worries about being punished for stuff like uniform screw-ups) and he wears a more casual pair of pants and a white shawl which fits him like a scarf now. (Maybe, if I wanted to be angsty, then it was given to him shortly after Nightmare came to power, and back then he was so stick thin it wrapped around his shoulders? Now he wears it as a sign of his healing <3) also!! Decided Ccino inherited hid mother's 'sleepy' eyeshape, where his sockets curve like he's sad, but that's just how he looks. Gives him a calm and gentle appearance.
Ignore that they're missing their shoes 🙏 I'm very close to convincing myself to let Ccino stay barefoot/sandals because tbh if I were him I'd be wearing the least shoes possible, but he's also very sensible so like. Probably sandals for him. Killer probably wears short boots or his sturdy armor boots? I couldn't see him taking the time to lace up any sort of complex sandals lmao-
