BL veterans, is the 69 in Wandee Goodday Ep 3 the first one we have on record? I wanna say there might have been one in Destiny Seeker, but I only know for sure that we had rimming in that one. I don't think we had it in the Novelist either.

i do have to respect that everyone was like "bridgerton is the most cheerfully historically inaccurate horny on main period drama romance show with a very anachronistic soundtrack to be released in 2024" and my lady jane was evidently like "bet"

After rewatching the wedding scenes, these are things that continuously crack me up :

• Guildford looking around like he’s waiting for Ashton Kutcher to come out and say he’s being punk’d when he sees who he’s marrying.

• Guildford’s little head tilt after he sees the blood. Then looking down at Jane and shaking his head like “bitch please you not fooling me”

• Jane goofy ass opening her eye after faking a faint. She needs to take acting classes.

• Guildford’s dad calling Jane “unpopular”

• Jane leaning in hard for that kiss! She really wanted that man.

• Guildford’s dad’s rhymes/idioms and Guildford’s confusion/ disgust.

• Jane being offended when Guildford said he wasn’t tryna get into bed with her before the bedding ceremony.

• Stan smacking Guildford’s butt!

• Just all of Jane and Guildford’s banter!!!!!!!

I feel like everyone's going to have a different opinion on this because it's such a personal question? And pretty much every opinion is going to be valid and important because in the end it's going to (hopefully) lead to more people watching BL, which in turn will lead to more diversity, representation and overall better quality.*

(*just consider how many Thai BL series openly included/promoted marriage equality this year because it's such an important issue in Thailand right now that's so easy to ignore for mainstream media.)

Personally, I watch (Thai) BL because it's fun and refreshing - but also... healing, in a way? I watched so many shows/movies where queer narratives were either an afterthought, ended in tragedy or were (most often) non-existent. I didn't even know I enjoyed the romance genre until I started watching BL. After years of bury-your-gays it's so amazing to watch something light-hearted with an almost-guaranteed happy ending. I don't care if the production values are low, the scripts aren't polished and the plot unrealistic. I want the fantasy. I want the drama. It makes me happy!

Plus, I get bored super quickly but with so many shows and actors and sub-genres and production companies around I'm guaranteed to always find something new to watch.

my lady jane lgbt but specifically trans allegory was so crazy djnfjefjdnm like i'm like 100% sure that's what they were going for w the whole ethian thing. like that whole scene where they talk about how he can possibly stand constantly being challenged like this and him saying that he doesn't care bc people that matter to him know who he is, plus the narrator literally calling non-ethians cis like it's not subtle

and i really love how the whole narrative was like. people are starving and there's constant riots and a few idiots control the entire country but the person trying to seize power isn't addressing any of those issues because her entire campaign is "when i'm the ruler i'll exterminate every trans person". and it works. feels very relevant right now and i really liked the way all that was handled

legit kind of sad about the my lady jane cancellation. it just really sucks to be living in an era of television where it feels like you can't get invested in anything new and interesting without constantly fearing that it's going to get yanked away from you and unceremoniously cancelled

Hey Descendants fans, did you know that the franchise has a stage musical adaption? I wasn't until today! But this production is actually really cool, creatively adapting plot points and remixing songs from all over the franchise. There's so much earnest passion bringing it to life. It has the charm of the first movie that endeared us to this stupid franchise despite itself. And the immense added charm of being not a Disney Studios production designed to make money by copying Ever After High with worse writing, but instead an independent project by people just like us who also love this stupid franchise and put in the work and care to make their rewrite fanfic a LIVE MUSICAL. I'd say that it has better writing and costume design than the movies do at times. (Looking at you, Descendants 3).
