Your Call is Important to Us... Tansie
"Hi-" Jessie drawled into the phone, after the person at the other end had finished their introductory spiel, "I'm looking to renew my driver's license-"
"Do you already have a British driving license?" The DVLA representative on the phone answered.
"Yes." She sighed.
"Ok well then if you go to our website you'll be able to follow the links to the webpages for renewing your licence and follow the online steps-"
"Yes, but-"
"Thank you for calling."
The phone hung up. Jessie stared at hers in annoyance. Here we go, here we fucking go. She opened her laptop, and resisted the urge to stand up and begin pacing, or to go and get herself a drink of something to try and make this process bearable. This was going to be an hour, minimum. She let out a long groan of frustration. What a freaking waste of time.
Suddenly she froze... then leapt up from the chair. She bolted out of her room and began hunting through the Inn. Now where was that little twerp... Rose room? No. Sun room? Thankfully no. Kitchen? Aha!
"Hi there Bones," she smiled as he turned in horror to see another interloper to the kitchen. "Don't worry. I'm here for her." Jessie pointed at Tanya, her target. "You. Come with me." She beckoned with one finger.

stopkosa.com
change.org petition

[august 2024 update]
KOSA or the Kids Online Safety Act is an Internet bill being pushed by the American government. It claims its purpose is to "protect" kids, but really its methods of enforcing this is mass censorship and control of the Internet. The passing of this bill would lead to LGBTQ+ related information, reproductive healthcare, and other topics that government officials may find "dangerous" to children be restricted or censored.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
In the website linked above, there is a petition you can sign as well as a pre-filled message you can send. You can also write to your representatives, and if you don't want to come up with an entire message, I've attached sample scripts. Also, go to badinternetbills.com for another petition that references similar bills. For more information about KOSA, you can see this article: eff.org/deeplinks/2024/02/don… .
Spread information about this, and do what you can. This bill being passed would mean an era of censorship for the Internet.

baby👶 drawings. these are very dear to me rn.. 2nd pic is my Nelavis with @barvin0k's Varonur 🩵 last one is a baby bosmer and snow elf, hairiest of them all. although the bosmer was meant to be my girl Barletta too lols
#tes#skyrim#my art#oc#nelavis#barletta#😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔 babies are so sweetum ugh my heart is crumbling rn#referenced some anne g*ddes stuff for dis#i call them snow elves instead of falmer like g*lebor would want me to#i never really get to talk about my elf anatomies at length cus i'm lazy but i sprinkled some info in the first pic#altmer society is EugenicsLand so you could only tell if your child has 'good' traits when they hit puberty#ex. height and shoulder width is something very important to them#if you don't have those traits ur pretty much a failure#other elves have it easier 🤓#idk i still might make some kinda infographic for the way i picture them but umm maybe not who knows#on snow elves and bosmer the fur is still 'confused' when they're in baby stage and is pretty much everywhere#it evens out w/ age and stays on the back; neck; sides of face the most and in places where human body hair wud be#idk ummm..and i think all elves grow their nails out unless they're very intertwined with humans in their life#ex. my snelf elisif; she has her nails trimmed to be regarded as more human i guess#nails are most important to altmer tho and might be a status symbol of some kind... they like using them in combat too#it's shameful for an altmer to not have long nails for any reason but there can be exceptions#like my el*nwen that can't physically grow nails out because of burn injury#so she has fake ones on her combat gloves#it's cute#elf nails aren't as frail as human nails and are more like an animals claws (corny) but bosmers' are the sturdiest#and their nails are curved in shape. for U know. Climbing and stuff#cause dunmer and altmer etc. have straight nails. they can hit the nail salon

Thinking about. Rizbert. Erizabeth. Rizwalda. Riz has to be short for something because... because why? Is he 'too good' for a short name? (a goblin name?) Isn't he surrounded by non-goblins who cannot think outside their cultural perceptions of what a name is supposed to be? Riz both as a name and as a person seems short & lesser but don't worry, he's really something greater, something larger and longer than can be expressed with his native name. As if something small cannot be powerful and important without secretly being large. As if there is only one way to be great. It's like Sklonda said, his name is Riz. Just Riz, as if there's anything 'just' about it.

don't wanna derail the post I saw this discussion on- it was all in the notes anyway, so it certainly isn't op's problem. I'm gonna say this with so much love:
Calling somebody a 'theyfab' is not punching up. If someone's being transmisogynistic, say that, or call them a bigot. Naming the tangible harm done to you will always be the most effective thing to do.
The cis people who created that term made it with the explicit intent to mock and insult people's identities. No matter what you mean when you say it, this is its origin and to most people, its only meaning. It describes nothing about the discrimination you face.
People afab are marginalized, especially if they're queer. You cannot "punch up" on a fellow oppressed group. I understand the specific vitriol that they inflict on you hurts.
You don't need a word to call somebody, you need and deserve adequate justice for the tangible harm done to you; and my heart aches that nobody queer- especially trans women- ever seems to receive that.
I'm aware I can't make anybody do anything, so I'm not gonna try to tell you not to use that word. I just want to say it can't ever address, undo, or heal any harm done to you. It can only redirect it.

Important tip for trans men/transmascs/whoever needs the reminder: Even if you pass as a man to cis people, you still need to have either some form of self-protection on you (e.g., mace, knives (if you can use them effectively), ect.) or know some form of self-defense. Please take it from me, you don't know what will happen out there at any given time.
You might assume that if you pass as a cis man to cis people, you will be safe from any harm. While I wish that were true, it simply isn't the world most of us live in. Please do whatever you can to protect yourself out there.

This is real. Stop sitting on the internet arguing with other people about celebrities. Who is who and all that bs. Ts is getting out of hand fr.
We’re taking multiple steps back in history. Everything your grandparents and great grandparents build is getting knocked down.
Mention these topics to your favs and get them to talk about it, yeah it maybe annoying but is getting scary out here and this shit will affect them too.
There is hundreds HUNDREDS of pages republicans have wrote that’s stripping minorities and women’s rights.
AMERICA HAS A FUCKING PROBLEM.

KOSA SENATE VOTE TOMORROW!!
Guys just a reminder that tomorrow is the day that KOSA gets voted on in the SENATE. I’m not trying to scare you guys at all but.. guys😭 the KOSA tag on tumblr has been like SILENT. ITS GOING TO THE SENATE TOMORROW!! and considering how it passed the first “phase” (?) with a 86-1 vote then unfortunately there’s probably a high chance of it passed the senate, again not trying to scare you guys but CMON!!! THIS IS THE DAY WE NEED TO BLOW UP THEIR PHONES (do it respectfully ofc) AND TELL THEM WE DON’T WANT KOSA!! There is more opposition in the House than Senate but still!! call your representatives and senators and tell them how this bill is an anti LGBTQ censorship bill that specifically targets the transgender community (said by senator marsha blackburn) and it will be a danger hazard if we’re needed to upload our government ID to access sites which can possibly be easily accessed leading to doxxing, (please correct me if I’m wrong about that) I don’t hear a lot of people talking about the ID part which is concerning.. to my fellow minors who see this!! you can still call and email, they’re not going to ask you for your age or anything like that. Guys if we stay quiet and not do anything other than reblogging then that’s how we loose!! Don’t let them take away the internet from us because I know it’s a way of feeling safe and comfort. Again, I’m not trying to scare you guys but I URGE you to go to StopKosa or just CALL/ EMAIL/ FAX!! WE HAVE ONE MORE DAY GUYS!!! also I know it’s scary but please don’t panic!! We’ve stopped this bill before we can do it again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CALL!! AND DO NOT PANIC

Its not that the batteries are meant to represent yellows intelligence In any way to be honest i think its more akin to constant fatigue and having a disability that hinders how well your thoughts and words come out more than anything. Hes always been a smart boy. having trouble with words or expressing his thoughts doesn't make him any less smarter than he is!!!

if there's one [1] thing i will be forever grateful for in the internet era it's the vast variety and availability of pose / anatomy references supplied by photographers and models
i can go online and find PERFECT references for how fat folds crease the skin or how muscles wrap around the body and as someone who habitually draws most of his OCs ~modestly lean~ and wants to hone his skill in other body types, it is literally a godsend to have those refs so readily available
seriously, thank you all models and photographers for providing me the resources i need to expand my art skills i owe u my life

Ace-centric aspecs will literally call alloaros "violently aphobic" for politely asking to be included and to stop pretending like we don't exist
Who cares that I constantly get kicked out of aspec spaces for being alloaro and talking about my sexuality
Who cares that I have people in real life constantly be like "you're ace right?" When I've mentioned being aro before
Who cares that other aspecs tell me that I'm invading their spaces
Who cares that other aspecs throw me under the bus as an argument against exclusionists
Who cares that 90% of alloaros don't know they're alloaro because they either don't know what aro is or assume they have to be ace to be aro
Who cares that aces constantly derail every single non-ace aspec post to make it all about them and erase every single trace of alloaros
Who cares that people specifically want me to be ace because having sexual attraction without romantic attraction is disgusting and shameful and it makes them more comfortable if I lack attraction completely
Who cares that every single aromantic character in media is immediately assumed to be aroace and my representation is seen as "lesser" and unimportant compared to asexual representation
Who cares that the aro flag is constantly left out of pride merch lineups because either people don't know what it is or assume the ace flag is enough
Who cares, right? Who cares that I don't feel safe in either the aspec or the allox2 queer communities?
You can't separate aro and ace so clearly that means you get to tell me I'm aphobic for saying that I don't want to be called aroace.
Fuck me, right? Clearly it's a lot to ask that people just make an effort to include non-ace aros in aro posts that apply to us. Clearly it's too much to ask that non-ace aros just don't fucking derail OUR explicitly alloaro posts to make it about them, right?
Clearly alloaros are the aphobic ones for asking the most represented part of the community to stop actively silencing us.
I'm just a violent aphobe who's disgusted by the mere existence of aroaces.
No no no. Aroace are the victims because I *checks notes* asked them not to contribute to my oppression.

“But calling people is scary - what do I even say when I call my representative?”
Welcome. Autistic advice from someone who actually prefers phone calls because I can prepare a script in advance and they’re generally shorter than email chains.
Here’s a good multiuse script:
Source: compiled from the notes and content of this post.
“Good [morning/evening]. I’m calling to leave a comment with my representative strongly opposing [example: the US’s relations with Israel] and I am standing [example: in strong solidarity with Palestine]. I am asking that my representative do the same. [His/Her/Their] action on this issue will impact my voting choices.”
(Bolding for emphasis - it’s important that you contact someone that actually represents you instead of spam calling an office four states away for a politician you didn’t have any say in the election of. It’s also important to mention that this will have an effect on future support eg. voting.)
Okay, so you have a script, but who is going to hear it and will they interrupt or ask you something?
1. You are leaving your message with a staffer. They’re an employee of your representative. They do not deserve to be yelled at or berated, and doing so may get your future calls ignored. Be the deadly calm and doggedly persistent Good Karen.
2. Generally, they will be polite and may ask for your name or place of residence [for example: your zip code]. They may ask you this after your greeting (“Good[morning/evening]”) or after you finish your statement. This is to certify that you’re actually a constituent of your representative. They will not stop taking your calls just because you called more than once (although maybe don’t call repeatedly for an hour straight - that’s spam, not a statistically significant opinion). They have caller ID and can tell it’s the same phone number.
That’s it. This exchange can take less than two minutes. Do it once a week. Once a day. It gets easier. Keep calling. Nothing scares a politician more than numbers, and we know it works.
Keep. Calling.
