How Old?!?!?!

Remember Folks, disregard any canon that contradicts this.

Timothy Wayne Drake disappeared when he was 16. He was taken captive in Eastern Europe at a WE event. A magical shield cut off all electronic communication, sight, and sound of the building for 6 minutes. According to every Super consulted, Tim’s heartbeat vanished at that time, and never reappeared. No facial recognition ever showed him again. No magical spell could find him, or his remains. Eight years later he is presumed dead by most of those who knew him, though his family still searches frantically for their Baby Bird. It is only the fact that they knew how much he loved Gotham, that he would want the city protected, that they did not let their obsession with finding him take them over.

According to his file, Neal Caffery has been operating since he was 18. There are no records prior to that. By the numbers he is now 34, and had been working as a CI for the feds for 2 years. He has never admitted to anyone that his earliest memories are six years ago, though Peter, El, and Moz have all figured it out. But his abilities, muscle memory, and knowledge seem to support what's in his file. That must mean something, right?

It was not a White Collar case, not really. Though there were just enough white collar elements to justify assigning it to Agent Burke and his team, this really was an Organized Crime case. However it was leading to Gotham, and no one wanted to go to Gotham.

So Agent Burke, his two junior agents, and his CI were bundled into a SUV and told to report to Gotham PD to coordinate the case. Upon arriving at the main precinct and getting out of the car; Peter, Diana and Jones all get strange looks from the locals on the street, though they do not know it, it is clear they are outsiders.

However Neal gets out with a strange look on his face, “Why does the air taste..”

“Pink?” One the pedestrian answers, suspicion washing away.

“Yes” Neal exclaimed, then paused, “That’s weird, right? I feel like that’s weird”

The pedestrian gave a half shrug, “Ivy and Scarecrow double booked downtown a few weeks ago. Made things super awkward for anyone not vaccinated against both, but the vaccines made the air taste pink for some reason. The news said that the unvaccinated shouldn’t see effects any longer and for the vaccinated the effect would be gone in two more weeks”

Then the pedestrian left and Neal, entirely unconsciously, murmured about wondering if Ivy and Harley were fighting. When Peter tried to get more information about Neal having been in Gotham as they walked into the Precinct, Neal made a joke to cover the fact that he has no idea when or where he got the vaccines/immunities to Poison Ivy’s pollen or Scarecrow's Fear Gas.

They manage to make it to the main bullpen without incident, by virtue of the fact anyone who actually looks up from what they were doing focuses on Peter, as lead agent. When they get to the Bullpen, someone notices Neal and the entire room goes dead silent. Commissioner Gordon comes charging out, eyes wild and clearly on the phone with someone (Oracle, who happened to see Neal/Tim on camera-it is important to note that the group who took Tim made it so that any facial recognition program that would run either face would skip the match between Tim and Neal, but a person looking through a camera is different) saying things like “Holy Shit” and “Yes I see him, too”.

The White Collar team, including Neal, is so confused as Commissioner Gordon ushers them to his office and closes the door (Oracle has her fathers office bugged with better cameras and wired for sound, also they do not know how much cover they have already broken for Tim-they do not want to make things worse instead of better).

Commissioner Gordon calls Neal Tim, and Neal/Tim seizes for a moment like he was hit with electricity and says, in a deadened tone, “That name cannot be used as an Alias” then slumps like he is going to fall over. Peter and Jones manage to catch him and get him into a chair that Commissioner Gordon hurriedly pulls over. The confusion that the White Collar team is exhibiting, plus questions like “What was that?” and “What did you do to Neal?” and “What did you call him?” do convince commissioner Gordon that these, at least, were not the people that took Tim. It takes a few minutes for Tim/Neal to come to. A few careful call and response questions tells Commissioner Gordon that the man with Tim’s face (and scars, from what he can see) does not remember anything. These same questions were also clearly making the White Collar team, particularly Peter, as protective as they were making Neal/Tim confused and more than a little anxious.

Then Dick Grayson burst into the room, looking like he might have run all the way from Bludhaven. He stopped dead at seeing Neal, whispered ‘Baby Bird?’ then lunged to pull Neal into a tight hug. Neal may have had no memories of being Tim, but his muscle memory remembered Dick’s hugs. That he was safe while Dick was hugging him, Neal could not help but relax into the hold.

Dick start talking about getting Neal to Leslie both to make sure he's not hurting and to verify his identity (sounding apologetic but, no matter if Dick is sure this is Tim, they have to verify it), that ‘B’ is out of contact right now (on a JL mission off planet, the watchtower is preparing to extract him, but it will take a few hours-the JLD is also preparing in case they are needed) but should be back soon. He talks about how Alfred will be waiting outside for them, but ‘everyone else’ is waiting so they don’t overwhelm him (read clustered, and pacing, on buildings around Leslie’s clinic).

Neal brings up, still wrapped in Dicks arms, that he might not be who they think he is. Dick agrees but also says that he isn’t, it is a case of mistaken identity and it is clear that Neal is not trying to trick them. Dick then says if it is Mistaken identity, Dick will apologize for the forcible cuddling and be grateful that, even if they don’t actually find him, he got a chance to hug his little brother one last time (Every single member of the White Collar Team, Neal very much included, is a little uncomfortable with this sentiment).

At Peter’s awkward insistence (these people clearly miss whoever they think Neal is, and he doesn’t know if they would think about Neal’s criminal activities) the White collar team accompanies Neal, still clutched to Dick’s side, to a car waiting with Alfed right next to it, who is clearly having an emotional reaction to seeing Neal/Tim again. Over the course of the car ride to Leslie’s clinic, Dick asks questions about who Neal is now (and reacts weirdly well to the whole Conman/FBI CI thing). Towards the end, Jones hesitantly asks why Dick is trying to get to know Neal now, wouldn’t it make more sense to wait until they were sure who Neal was.

Dick laughs and goes 1.) Even if Neal is not his long lost brother, several of his siblings are going to want to befriend him (if nothing else than being a world class master art forger would get Damian’s attention, and everyone else would 100% be encouraging the friendship to give Damian more non violent friends) and 2.) Baby Bird is notorious for trying to mold himself into who he thinks other people want him to be. Right now he does not know enough about Dick to try and tailor his answers, plus is likely convincing himself that this is a case of mistaken identity. Thus Dick is collecting information for when Baby Bird inevitably tries to fit himself into whatever weird mold he thinks their family will want him to fit.

Neal, still clutched to Dick’s side, splutters as the White Collar team cannot help but laugh at him. Also this somewhat convinces Peter that this might not be a case of mistaken identity after all.

They get to Leslie’s Clinic. She runs through all the tests (Genetic and comparing previous x-rays, signs of artificial aging-for cloning, signs of the specific type of molecules that means time or dimension travel, brain scans, the few hormone tests that can detect magic-you can’t tell me that Bruce Wayne and/or Tim Drake, before he vanished, were not told at some point that there is no way to detect magic by scientific means and took it as a personal challenge). By every measure that she is able to test, Neal Caffrey is the missing Tim Drake. She is also able to tell that his memory loss was likely caused by significant and repeated electrocution reinforced by some kind of magic, but cannot tell what or if it is still active, though given Tim’s reaction to his birth name (which happened twice more during the tests) and the fact that the Supers were never able to find his heartbeat,it is likely.

By this time, Batman has now been returned to the watchtower and is being told of Tims return.

Dick tells Neal outright that their entire family’s love languages are stalking and poor boundaries (both maintaining and respecting). Dick also makes it clear that, while the Batfam is ecstatic that Neal/Tim is alive and want him in their lives, Neal is not required to attempt to get his memories back or have anything to do with them if he does not want (All of their therapists, the family could not go to just one, had worked specifically with them on how to deal with a Tim that has made a new life, how to accept that he is safe and happy but not with them-which is a realistic assumption after 8 years), but that likely Neal would be putting up with some limited stalking for the rest of his life (Look, the best we are going to get from the Batfamily is stalking from the shadows if Neal doesn’t want to interact with them-Also Oracle has already hacked the FBI for all of Neals records and files, and is the middle of arranging for the White Collar office to be bugged with her personal cameras/microphones). Dick also asks that the White Collar team come back to the Manor and to at least let the Justice League Dark look Neal over to make sure that there is nothing that is going on that will hurt him.

Now, to be clear, Neal is more than happy to at least meet the rest of the Batfam. Yes, he has a good life now, people he loves and who love him. But that is a relatively new development and there are a lot of blanks in his past. I mean at this point Neal still thinks he is 34 (as opposed to 24), and only remembers the last six years. They have not even gone far enough into the explanations to realize that there is a 2 year gap between when Tim was taken and Neal's earliest memories. Also, while Neal does not quite have the same level of abandonment issues as Tim did, there is something about how visibly happy Dick is to see him that soothing something deep inside (Because he has six years worth of memories, and for most of them he did not have anyone who would have noticed if he had vanished).

They get back to manor just in time for Bruce to come charging into the foyer, still in the batman suit but with his cowl down. Bruce also looks like he might have ran from wherever he was. He had at least absorbed enough of what he was told about Neal to not call him Tim, and pulled Neal into a hug. This also means there is a brief interlude while the White Collar team gets the ‘Bruce Wayne is Batman, we’re trusting you with this’ revelation (And absolutely everyone is going to be making fun of Bruce ‘Paranoia’ Wayne being the person who accidentally let the secret slip).

By the time they reach the main sitting room, the rest of the family has made it back to the manor (Barbara, Jason, Cass, Steph, Damian, Duke) each waiting on their own chance to hug their lost member. Neal blue screens a bit at Jason (who is both very pretty and very sarcastic, which is Neal's type). Through the discussions that follow there are at least two arguments between batfam members about who gets to have Neal to sit with them.

Neal decides that he will meet with someone from JLD to see about what magic might still be affecting him and regaining his lost memories. He and the White Collar team do decline staying at the manor and go back to the hotel rooms that the FBI rented for them (never realizing that Oracle upgraded them as soon as she realized who Neal was) as they still have a job to do. It is at this point that Neal starts whining to the others, much to their amusement (also to the amusement of Steph and Cass, who were hiding on the balcony-there is no way there will not be at least one bat/bird hiding in the shadows around Neal for a bit), about his new, hot brother Jason. Peter calls El, just so Neal can have his crisis with her instead of him (Never mind that being siblings is not as big a deal as Neal thinks it is).

Now Gotham, and its people, have a reputation at the FBI for being actually impossible to work with. Even regular citizens stonewall so effectively that most teams simply give up. They simply do not like outsiders, and Gothamites can tell if someone grew up in Gotham or not, even if the person in question does not realize it (there are unconscious ways of moving if you have lived in Gotham for a certain amount of time). This is what the White Collar team expects to go against, what they are bracing for, no matter who Neal might or might not have been. To their surprise this is not what they get. Yes, most people still peer suspiciously at Peter, Jones, and Diana at first, but even that settles down quickly (Some of it is Neal/Tim, being from Gotham, clearly trusting Peter and co gets them some good will; some is them not being sanctimonious about gotham; the rest is the batfam being vocal about liking these FBI agents-for Neal/Tim related reasons). They solve the case, which branched from White collar into one of the Mob Families (at least two of the traffickers got the choice to talk to the FBI team, or deal with The Red Hood-Red Hood plays it off as using the FBI to take a shot at that family’s territory and being personally interested in Neal Caffrey).

Before they leave Gotham, Neal does meet up with a few members of the JLD who are able to find and remove the spells that prevent Neal/Tim from being found by the Supers and the Spell keeping him from being addressed as Tim. His missing memories were not fully caused by magic (There was a lot of damage caused by electricity-no one took that news well), but the magic was preventing some of his recall. With the spells off, it is inferred that some or all of Tim’s memories may come back in time.

The White Collar team leaves Gotham with new contacts in their phones and also the bomb that Neal Caffery was a full decade younger than he thought he was (They do eventually figure out that Neal/Tim never actually committed the crimes in his file-not that the crimes were never committed but that Neal/Tim was basically went straight from where ever he was being held to being captured for ‘Neal Caffery’s’ crimes). Peter later finds a much more complete medical record for Tim Wayne Drake in his home, with an ominous note to keep this file out of the FBI records, it is for personal reference only. They also leave with the decision to keep Neal’s identity a secret (As no one knows who the ones who took them are, or what the end goal is), telling only Hughes, El and Moz. By the time the WC crew reaches New York, the Bats already have bugs/cameras in the FBI building, Neal’s apartment, and Peter’s house. They have also put trackers in every single pair of Neal’s shoes. There is also a schedule for who gets to stalk/hang out with Neal when.

As far as the rest of the FBI was concerned, White Collar gets a lot of strange new contacts for cases. Also they seem to have made an impression on the Justice League, as they become the point of contact between the Justice League and the FBI, by request of the League. Occasionally hardened criminals walk into the FBI and ask to confess their crimes specifically to Agent Burke and his team. And Apparently their CI knows the Red Hood, somehow (in that the Red Hood sometimes showed up at their crime scene to flirt outrageously with the CI, the first few times the CI got really flustered but after that he started to flirt back).

Eventually Neal/Tim does begin to remember his past, oddly enough the trigger was a spleen in a jar that was left on his desk in the White Collar Office (Ra’s Al Ghul was…pleased that Tim was not dead and displeased with the Organization the abducted him and tried to fry Tim’s brain).

Jesus Christ these doodles already feel so old . I was not lying I really am using this fixation to speedrun learning to draw humans LMAO. Anyway I made some of those silly "understand ship in 5 minutes" memes with my Favorite pairings in funkycule au not ALL of them just the ones that I brainrot hardest about. If I did one for all of them we'd be here all day I'd probably hit image limit it's called the funkycule for a reason

ANYWAY infodumping/details under the cut:

BF/GF/Pico:

I am a "BF and GF are Fucking Tall™️" truther because it's funny to me. With BF it's harder to tell because his posture is absolutely atrocious but GF is just So Fucking Tall

I'm going to be honest with the gender headcanon for BF. I guess I default to him being transmasc but I can see him as. Like. Anything. In fact I think he's just every gender. But I'm a coward so he's transmasc for the purposes of the chart. GF is a girl but identifying her as "cis" or "trans" doesn't mean much when demon genders don't really work like that. It's complicated. Pico is just a guy

Pico likes being the big spoon because he likes knowing that his partners are safe. However GF likes being the big spoon More. The result is Pico Sandwich. He will never admit it but Pico feels the safest he ever has in his entire life when he is being Pico Sandwiched

BF is very much a verbal affection type of guy. Yes he is nonverbal. His words of affection are various dubstep noises. His partners appreciate it so much

BF grew up kinda spoiled and never really learned how to cook. However after noticing that Pico is like extremely bad at feeding himself (canon six pack means nothing to me. That boy is skin and bones I won't be told otherwise /silly) he for the first time managed to convince himself to try it and he got Really into it he's actually good at it. He still loses his mind when GF makes him pb&j sammiches for dinner though it's his favorite thing in the world

Pico is Insanely overprotective mostly because he's extremely hypervigilant and sees potential danger in everything. BF is the exact opposite and even in situations where he's in immediate danger he'll be ironically more worried about Pico getting too worried about it. GF is also pretty ditzy about this due to her confidence that her boys can handle Anything but if either of them ever got hurt she would explode everyone in a 50 mile radius with her mind so like that counts for something

Random headcanon: the group's favorite date night activity is looking up an extremely bad movie and then commentating over it like old-school rage youtubers the whole time in an effort to see who can get the others to laugh the hardest. BF wins often because the flatness of the TTS voice he uses adds something to the humor of it

Pico/Darnell:

I kinda bounced around with what label to use for Darnell for a while. I definitely see him as arospec, with the stipulation that he does feel romantic attraction just like very not traditionally and after a Long Time. After going between quoiromantic and demiromantic for a bit I landed on grey bc it's open-ended enough to encompass it. The point is it took Darnell like 3 full years to realize that his feelings were less platonic than he thought and even then theyre still like. Only half-romantic lmao

Unfortunately as he cannot provide the Pico Sandwich Darnell is getting little spoon'd by a guy nearly a foot shorter than him. F

Pico and Darnell are pretty verbally coarse with each other in a way only people who've been through the amount of shit they have been together can be w/o jeopardizing their relationship. That being said they often express affection and insane amounts of trust through actions very frequently, sometimes even without either of them realizing. Them immediately making up after weekend 1 was one of those times lol

I put Pico on the "squashes the bug" end of both charts but in reality I think he just takes them outside unless it's like a gnat or something. Darnell isn't scared of bugs he just wonders what would happen if he set one on fire. Pico refuses to let him set them on fire

Even though Pico 2 is in a weird limbo state in funkycule just like it is irl, there's still some point in the timeline where Pico expressed protectiveness over Darnell, to the point where, years later, when Darnell heard Pico took down a whole army for BF and GF, he got jealous, because that was supposed to be their thing >:(. This was quickly followed by his Oh moment

Random headcanon: Pico and Darnell had been acquaintances for the whole time they were in school together, but they became friends when Pico (and Nene by proxy) were the only kids to continue hanging out with him after The Class Presentation Gone Wrong (Darnell Plays with Fire). To return the favor, Darnell stuck by Pico even after the events of PS fundamentally changed him as a person. Though their relationship can be messy, they've been virtually inseperable since.

Nene/Cassandra:

The levels of toxicity of this are mostly dependant on When in the timeline by the time these two are like 21 they've normalized a bit dw lmao

Okay so like. I've made so much Lore. For Pico's School. For no reason. Anyway penilians have nothing against child soldiers so Cas was shipped off to infiltrate Earth at the penilian equivalent of 13. Also while on a surface level she's transfem in more depth it's like "all penilians are One Sex and have One Gender so technically she is xenogender, using neopronouns, and if you want to be extra silly with it, by the time she's 19 she's functionally alienkin but for humans as a coping mechanism for being banished to earth (dw abt it)"

[Projects my trauma and its side effects onto Nene] who said that

I didn't think much on the borrowing clothes thing until I realized that I draw Nene and Cassandra wearing the same style of turtlenecks I was like. Do you know what would be really funny

I don't have many intimate cute headcanons for these two Yet because I'm so early on in developing my shit and these two are Not cute at first. However I do like to imagine that Nene calls Cas all kinds of over-the-top cutesy or stupid nicknames just to get a reaction out of her. She called her a "vixen" as a furry joke + something between a compliment and insult once and she almost died

Nene is literally the only one in this entire cast who's never gotten her license suspended also she's somewhat good at car maintence which Cas find inexplicably hot

Giggles and kicks my feet at putting both Pico and Cassandra at the far end of the overprotectiveness spectrum. Anyway

Random headcanon: in the short period of time before Cas started ghosting Nene and FNF happening, they were in contact for One Christmas when they were like 15. Nene got Cas a cute little switchblade with hearts carved into the handle. Cas keeps it in a box by her bed and refuses to let anyone touch it or to let it ever get dirty.

Love in a hopeless Place 1

Synopsis: She was barely grown up, when she stepped into the bar that was the center of Zaun's resistance. The people she met there would forever change her life, and one of them especially. What should I say? I watched Arcane over the Christmas holidays, and it's been holding me in a chokehold ever since. I can't say I've seen much better media, like ever. As usually, I was especially infatuated with one of the best villains I ever encountered in media, or greatly beloved Silco. And then I literally dreamed about this scenario that I've written down here, and I've been writing my fingers off to get this piece on paper before my memory got too clouded (and work took over too much of my time again). So yeah, I can't really say too much about this chapter, just that it's the shortest out of them all. I won't always post full chapters from now on, I'll go for sections as some chapters are around 10 k alone... (I was expecting each chapter to be around the length of this one, but what should I say, words and ideas just kept floating.) I really hope you'll enjoy this, guys! The music was blasting out of a speaker next to the exit when I opened the heavy wooden door and entered the crammed bar. Honestly, I was surprised to find it as crowded on a regular weekday, but apparently that didn't make much of a difference around here. How often had I tried to sneak a drink around here before, but it had always been prevented by Vander.

Didn't help when the owner of the bar was a regular customer at your own father's store.

But today was different. Today I was allowed to be here! Finally.

I was making my way through the crowd, heading for the bar, where I didn't find the familiar gruffy face of Vander. I took the last free stool and climbed on it a little clumsily. Looking around for another bartender, I craned my neck from left to right, but nobody was to be seen. I finally wanted my drink!

"Are you even allowed to drink yet, kid?" a low voice from my left, asked me.

I looked where the voice was coming from and found a black-haired man, who wasn't even looking at me, but was scribbling something into a notebook. I knew this man from my father's shop.

He sometimes came to help Vander with the deliveries and sometimes came to buy... other things... And his piercing blue-green eyes seemed to look right into your soul.

Somehow the room now felt warmer.

"Yes, Silco," the familiar voice of the bartender finally echoed over the music. "'cause it's her 18th birthday today!"

Silco put down his pen and now finally gave me a real look. "You know her?", he huffed at Vander.

"Sure, you should too!" He told Silco my name and waited for a reaction. Finally, he sighed. "Claus' eldest!"

It still didn't seem to click with Silco. He turned to look at me again, an eyebrow raised. "You mean, he doesn't just have those four unbearable brats but one more?"

"I'm not a brat!" I fought back weakly. "And my four brothers are only my half-brothers."

Vander made a movement of uncertainty with his hands. "She's Claus' only daughter with his first wife; you know, the one that..." I was thankful that Vander didn't elaborate more on my biological mother's fate in public.

She had left us when I was around six. Just kept leaving the house more often and coming back less and less until she stayed away one day forever. She was found dead three years later on the patch. Until I was ten, it had only been me and my father; then he remarried, and while my stepmother was the kindest and friendliest person in the world, the second my first half-brother was born, I sensed that she would never love me as much as her own flesh and blood.

"So, it's your birthday and I finally can't throw you out of my bar anymore. What can I get you?" Vander brought my attention back to the here and now.

Silco also turned away from me, but I noticed a small eye roll before he went back to his papers.

I honestly had no idea what I wanted, it would be my first time drinking, but I recognized one of the bottles above my head from our own kitchen at home.

My stepmom would sometimes drink that, and she seemed to like it.

I pointed at the green bottle. "I'll take this one."

"Oh, starting out strong, I see," Vander mused and poured me a drink. "If I might give you an advice, I would keep the pace low, okay? I would hate to explain to my vendor why his daughter got an alcohol poisoning on her 18th birthday."

I grinned at him, showing my bright white teeth. "Don't worry, Vander. I'm an adult now. I know what I'm doing."

Of course, he was right to worry, and I didn't know what I was doing.

After some punks around my age found out it was my birthday, they offered me drink after drink. We danced and laughed and drank, and I had the best night of my life so far.

The bar got emptier by each passing hour, and even some of my new "friends" were leaving until it was only me and one of them.

"That's a very pretty dress, you're wearing there", he lulled and gave one of the straps a small push so that it fell from my shoulder.

I giggled, not understanding the situation I was in. Without the intoxication, I would probably have slapped the shit out of that guy, but now? "It belonged to my mother," I slurred. "She was a whore."

That second, the noise of huge hands slamming on the wooden surface of the bar cut through the room.

"Silco!", Vander's mighty voice hollered over the music, and he also called out for me. "I still got work to do around here. But I think it's best if you take her home now. She's had enough."

"I can do that!", the punk instantly offered, but Vander shut him with a stern look.

I wanted to protest. I wasn't that drunk, was I? Did I really need a babysitter?

But Vander's look didn't leave room for protest.

So I followed the slender black-haired man outside the bar. Cold air hit my bare arms, and I instantly shivered.

It had been so warm, when I had come earlier.

"Where is your jacket?", Silco asked, rolling his eyes.

"I don't know. I think one of the girls took it with her," I admitted.

Silco sighed theatrically and slipped out of his own jacket. "Here, take that. You don't want to spend the week after your birthday down with a cold, do you?"

I shook my head and shyly took the jacket.

It smelled of musk, smoke and a tad of old sweat, was heavy and the arms were way too long for me, but otherwise it fit like a glove.

Silco's eyes darkened, and despite the friendly smile on his lips, I felt kind of self-aware at that moment. "Now, that's better, isn't it?" he muttered while lighting a cigarette.

I nodded quickly, and we headed in the direction of my home.

It would only be a walk of around 15 minutes.

I had made these streets so much in my life, I would never have sensed fear before. Still, I was thankful for the company that night.

"What's your name again?", Silco asked after a few minutes.

I told him, and he repeated it lowly.

Despite the jacket, the hairs on my arms rose again.

Never had anyone spoken my name as beautifully as he just had.

I know Silco from my father's store, had seen him ever since him and Vander had "The Last Drop". To my disappointment, I now realized that he had cut his hair slightly and only wore it in a low ponytail, not in his usual messy bun tonight. I tried to think about something to talk to a man who was about twice my age, but my drunk self couldn't come up with anything. We just walked besides each other while Silco had a second smoke, until we reached the street I lived in. "It isn't far anymore," I murmured, and was surprised about how husky my voice sounded in the cold of the night.

"I know where Claus lives," Silco repeated. He was clearly avoiding looking at me, but I wasn't able to make sense of it back then.

When we finally reached my house, I leaned against the door frame. "Ah, stupid thing!", I cursed when my keys didn't want to fit the hole and additionally fell to the ground.

Silco threw his cigarette down and ground the butt out. "Come, let me get that for you."

Before I could move, Silco reached down for the keys.

While he rose, our glances shortly met, and his green eyes took my breath away for a second.

I couldn't move as he pulled the key to the hole and pushed the door open for me.

He was so close I could smell him perspire, the same scent as his jacket had. As we locked eyes again, he didn't move either.

"So," I made, suddenly feeling sober and bold. "don't you want to take advantage of an intoxicated young girl like me too?"

As his eyes flicked towards my lips, I felt my knees turn weak for a second. "I'm way too old for you, kid. And you're drunk. Vander trusted me with your safety."

"And if it wasn't for Vander?" I placed my head against the door frame.

Silco's hand came above my head as he leaned closer. "I would still be too old for you."

"How old exactly are you? As long as you aren't... like my dad's age, I don't see the problem."

"I'm 30, kid. Trust me, you don't want that."

I raised an eyebrow. "Not as old as I assumed."

Silco's posture straightened, and he broke eye contact. "Charming," he huffed as he ran the hand that was just above me through his hair. "Now, good night, kid."

"Wait!"

He looked back down at me from the corner of his eyes.

"I'm not even getting a goodnight's kiss?"

Silco sighed and rolled his eyes. "You're a real nuisance, you know that?" He still leaned down, and his thin lips planted a small smack on top of my cheek. "Now, good night." He really turned and took some steps down the streets.

"Silco!", I called out again, and he again faced me.

Loose strands of black hair framed his remarkable face.

"Your jacket!"

He smiled. "Keep it, kid. I still got one. You can return it once you've brought yourself a new one."

"I'll get one from my first salary. Dad said I can work in his store now for real."

"Do that," he mused and continued walking.

I couldn't keep my eyes off him, until he vanished behind a corner. Then I finally released the breath I've been holding unnoticed. My hand touched the cheek that just had been kissed, then I finally managed to step into my house.

So, on the off chance that it was a possible experience for SaranVika to have kids (maybe in the "nothing goes to shit like in canon and reverse?") What would their parenting style be. I was doomscrolling earlier and found this song "En otra vida" and thought of them. IT HURT SO MUCH

Would they have more than one child? Would they prefer adopting them from babies or older? If we talked about them as fem, which one of them (if they even want it) would prefer carrying? vika is not v good at school works and likes to leave these matters to saran. saran is rlly good at math and science stuff etcetc (he did study medicine in og and, in the AUs, became a doctor like he always wanted) so he makes sure to help their kids w that and explain everything as simple and patient as possible

vika is def very soft and loving; he spends sm time w them, plays w them, goes outside w them, etc. if theres smth they are not allowed to do etc he explains patiently. he puts all his love and patience into raising them

saran is as loving as vika ofc but a bit stricter than him (not as strict as his own dad; hes a good and needed kind of strict); def plays w them too and often gets tackled by the little rascals and climbed all over. their kids get their kisses and hugs from vika w the cutest faces and then cannonball right into saran w a battle cry and kill him right on the spot

as for how they would save each other in their contacts.....saran would save himself in vikas phone with his first name and a bunch of different heart emojis LMAO (he doesnt put a pet name in there bc vika usually doesnt use those since it flusters him a lot); vika is saved as some cheesy pet name in sarans phone

yea vika likes to take pics of saran (in og he tried too but since saran is a ghost, his face is always blurry), always when hes looking funny (like when he has bad case of bed hair) or silly, its endearing to him. he would def have a pic of them together as lockscreen. saran would have either vika when hes sleeping or just waking up; he adores how soft and peaceful he looks and sometimes vika smiles in his sleep

He's so single mindedly obsessed with swords and martial arts that he ascends to godhood as a martial god at only 17. and then does it 2 MORE TIMES. (autism so strong that you're the only god to be banished and then re-ascend x2)

he's such a sword nerd (affectionate) even after he's been banished. he's unable to read between the lines and realise that Hua Cheng is Very Gay for him, despite the fact that they CONTINUESLY KISS AND FEEL EACH OTHER UP. sounds like you have trouble discerning between platonic and romantic advances. not very allistic of you.

still, on the subject of romantic advances, the most successful one was unleashing him in an armory and letting him infodump about swords for hours. the author literally describes him as a sword otaku.

he's pretty perceptive, and tends to make pretty reasonable guesses about what's going on based on what he knows- and then never tells anyone. basically like: "oh I'm sorry i didn't know when it was acceptable to say that i know that you showed up in disguise earlier but i didn't want to call you out and make it awkward so i just played along until someone else brought it up" maybe the truth is blatantly obvious but figuring out when to say it is so hard :( someone come save this man from social cues before he gatekeeps another critical piece of information.

he has a passable understanding of social norms but often forgets them/ ignores them if he thinks they're dumb also there's this whole passage where he goes (paraphrasing once more) "hahaha my teacher taught me well I'm So Good at not feeling attracted to women. so good, in fact, that its never happened. i only wish he also taught me how to not find men SO HOT. it's clearly because my teacher never taught me how to avoid men's hot sexy advances." sir. sir i just saw you "practicing calligraphy" and "exchanging spiritual energy" with Hua Cheng do you want to maybe inspect this a little bit. as an autistic oblivious gay, I've been there but c'mon. you can only kiss a man so many times before your bros card is revoked.

on the subject of him being taught in class, because he was learning cultivation and martial arts from a young age, he was mostly a joy to have in class (special interest makes the heart grow fonder) until he started asking Socially Unacceptable questions. especially the why questions. i mean.

so it's hard to classify this as headcanon/implied/canon because it's kinda all three at once? When translated into English, the pronouns used for Wansarat are translated to she/her, but I know that pronouns and gender indicators in Thai are a bit more complex/nuanced than how that works in English but unfortunately I don't speak Thai so I can't say for certain how she's referred to in canon. But I do know that she's referred to as a "nagini" which is a female naga and also referred to as "sister" by her sister so at the very least feminine terms are used for her. BUT there's also a bit in the current day when one of the characters is having this dream about Wansarat, there's a line of dialogue that goes "there was once a naga who disguised itself as a man" regarding Wansarat which goes into the next thing which is Wansarat has two main forms we see her in: a human form and a more naga but still human presenting form. The human form is played by a man while the naga/human combo form is played by a woman. Even in the human man form, her hair, clothes, and accessories are more feminine in style and aren't what men at the time would wear. But then her later reincarnation is a cis man who looks like her male human form. These two different forms are said to be one in the same, and even when she's now Tharn, a cis man, he's still Wansarat (referred to directly as Wansarat at one point) and still called "sister" by Wansarat's sister, but is still seen as fully a man. There's a part where the love interest draws the more feminine version of Wansarat (that he sees in his dreams) and then draws modern day Tharn (Wansarat's reincarnation) and people think it's the exact same person. Like the two pictures look like twins to them and they can't tell any difference between them, other than one is a girl and the other is a boy (though when looking at the picture of him, they remark that he's as pretty as a girl) It's also worth noting that in the current day, anytime the love interest encounters Wansarat in his dreams (and the one time he had a vision of her), it is always the most feminine version, which would suggest that she still holds some identity to that form Anyways all of these different forms and gender presentations are all still one person and are treated as one person in canon. Wansarat is Tharn 100%, though Tharn seems to exclusively identify as male, Wansarat has less clear identification The prevailing headcanon is that he's a trans man, a view that I love and indulge in frequently, but I think the genderfluidity of Wansarat/Tharn is an avenue worth exploring and has strong roots in canon

I don’t know about anyone else, but I think a lot of cis straight women who write mlm typically write mlm because it’s nice to write a love story with out the inherent power inbalance that all straight relationships have.

YES !!! 100% yes, this is a point i make in this video !!!

i mean,,, i'm coming at it from a different perspective as someone who read only mlm prior to coming out as trans, but it's the same concept - wanting to disconnect from your own identity and fall head over heels into something else.

it's nice to read stories where your inferiority isn't part of it, where you aren't subjected to patriarchial values or situations, and you can just,,, enjoy the story, you know? and i think mlm ships, more so than wlw ships, provide that escapism more.

i think i also talk a bit in that video about mainstream media and the effects that has, especially in a fandom space. marauders for example, the core four are men and the people they are connected to *canonically* are mostly men - we know more about them and how they navigate the world, and that makes for more interesting stories. (see here: "but regulus has barely any cano-" he does but also,,, he's the brother of a core character, hence why he's developed a lot)

we can also get messy with the men, you know? we see it a lot in mainstream media *and* fandom where a "messy" woman (a human being with flaws and mistakes) is criticised for being misogynistic etc etc, and we lose complexity through that (i'm looking at you, platonic snily deniers /hj but fr, that is the most central part of her character imo)

but marlene and dorcas for example? we only know about two facts, including how they died, and we don't even know if they were in the same year as the marauders, so it's more of a gradual development than taking developed male characters - mainstream media sucks man :/ god forbid we get developed women.

so yes !!! i stronglyyy dislike the fetishisation argument because whilst there is 100% the chance that that is why people write and engage in those stories, 99.9% of the time it isn't and people either (1) like that escapism that comes from reading without your inferiority as a woman coming into play (2) like reading more complex stories that we typically get with men, especially since we allow them to get more "messy" and (3) they just,,, like the characters.

there's a big gap between the consumption of mlm media and the consumption of wlw, but i don't think demonising mlm and reducing it to just sexual fantasies and fetish desires is progressive at all,,, less so even.

Also someone on twitter made a really strong case and they were talking about how ooc the thing Jim was keeping from Pam could've been him coming out as bi which I think would be a really cute concept

- cis, honestly can be pretty flexible with this I think it's fun to play around with transfem Kevin but not that realistic in canon

- I don't think he'd care much for pronouns but I personally really like he/she Kevin I think someone would accidentally use she/her and on him and she'd just go to Oscar like "wait you can use she/her without being a girl??" And that is his gender awakening basically

Oh also I think Kelly introduces to him to neos and he ends up liking cloud/clouds
