Chapter 12- An order is a goal
Previous|Table of contents|Next
You know... When I agreed to become the servant of the great sage- Monkey king himself I had no idea...
"THAT I'D BE STUCK HERE DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!" Jie shouted irritated by the situation she was in. She was training for like a week now but still wasn't able to use Mirror Blade.
The fact that she was recently feeling dangerous aura in the city didn't help her to focus on learning, same as MK who was cracking walls for a few days now.
Jie's main training was based on meditation, finding the necessary peace in Wukong's cave was rather hard.
After some time Jie got used to it, it was always the same- the sound of crashing, complaining, advices and repeat.
But that day there was a new sound which Jie had long forgotten... silence. Which was quickly disturbed by Monkey King who throw his staff into the wall causing it to break, funny thing is that Jie was minding her business just a few inches away from the hole.
"Jie? What are you doing here?"her master asked "Aren't you supposed to like... study or something, perhaps you got lazy huh?"
"...lazy?...LAZY?!" Jie didn't even notice that she shouted it out "For weeks now I'm only trying to study and yet YOU are getting on my nerves and even calling me lazy, YOU?!"
Monkey King's first reaction was shock, but it wasn't the first time he got on someone's nerves.
"Ok, calm down for a moment-don't you think you're a little... impatient?"
"..."
The silent that came after Wukong's words was so tense that MK caught himself sweating.
'Unfortunately' right on time he got an important call from Mei.
"So... Its seems like there is a monster or something soooo maybe... I just...-OK BYE!" He announced and ran away, he would prefer to fight every demon instead of staying there any second longer.
Jie slowly started moving after him.
"Wait! Where are you going!?"her master screamed when she was near the exit.
"I believe it's none of your business...master" She answered and then added a short and cold "I'll be back on Friday to clean up"
Tumblr media
Two days passed since Jie had a fight with Wukong, by that time she thought she would feel calm again but even if she spent her time with Gou, like old times, she still felt irritated by her master's words.
On Friday she was supposed to go to the cave to clean it up, she promised to do so, but the thought of meeting that one monkey made her feel unpleasant. Normally she would apologise the first second but this time it was really important for her to stood her ground. Jie had a bad experience with demons who didn't let her speak for herself, by all means she wanted to prevent Wukong from acting this way towards her.
To calm her mind Jie started a new activity- taking a walk with Gou, as long as people ignored her it was perfect!
"Huh? Ms. Jie??!"
'Crumbs... it was too perfect, wasn't it?'
Jie turned back to meet a big blue giant with a cat on his arm
"Do... I know you?" She asked out of pure curiosity
"Yes! Not long ago, at Spider Queen's lair you saved me and my friends"
Well there was only one person who Jie would 'protect'
"Are you one of Monkey Boy's friend, Big Guy?"
"Yes!-call me Sandy!"
The blue giant smiled warmly towards her but Jie wasn't in mood for a chat, she also had some suspicions towards Sandy because of hi soul orb. It was cut perfectly in half, one side was bright and warm while the other one was dark and ominous... Jie didn't want to get involved with someone like that.
"Listen, it was nice to meet you but I need to go"She tried to think of something "I need to... buy food!"
It was then that she realised that she was still holding the bag with groceries.
"- For my dog!" She added while covering the bag behind her back
"I don't want to be a problem to you..." Sandy stated calmly
"Great, see you then-
"But you look troubled"
Somehow... Jie couldn't move a finger after those words. She took a deep breath and looked straight at the giant face
"What...if I am troubled?"She asked not sure herself why she was still talking with him
Sandy smiled again.
"Then I would offer you a cup of tea" he answered casually
"...only one cup..."
-10 cups of tea later-
"And then, he said that I am lazy!!!While he won't even bother to teach the kid properly or clean his damn house!" Jie kept complaining about Monkey King "Even thought he knows how much I'm trying to wield Mirror Blade again!"
Sandy nodded in a gesture of understanding, Jie didn't expect him to be such a good listener so she kept going.
"OH! And then he even called me impatient!-Which is...well... not totally true!" She took a sip of her tea to help her dried throat "It's soo good"She cried inside impressed by its taste
"So... You got frustrated at him because you're trying your best but he is disturbing you" said Sandy while petting Gou, he was more of a cat person, but there was no one who would be able to reject Gou's cutenesses!(besides some not important Monkey)
"Yes!-all the time he is either taking me to city, or making noises I can't stand!"Jie added"I would already find my inner goal if it wasn't because of him"
Sandy nodded again.
"Then I have one last question... why did you stayed with him?"
Jie blinked a few times.
"What..?"
"Since mr Monkey King is disturbing you, why did you study in his cave anyway?"
Jie was silent, not only because she didn't know what to say but also because she didn't know the answer!
Sandy was right, she shouldn't study in Wukong's cave anyway, how could she expect him to be quiet? Why didn't she just stay at her home- in silence, all calm and... alone.
"I think it's not him that makes you annoyed" Sandy continued "But the fact that you two became friends"
"WHAT?!" Jie almost dropped her cup "We aren't friends, he is my master!"
"But you want to be friends with him, that's why you stayed with him all this time, right?"
"It's impossible... How can I be his friend?!"
"I think you have more in common than you think, for example- both of you were alone for a very long time"
'No'
"It is normal for you to deny that since you were fine alone..."
'You're wrong Sandy...'
"Starting a relationship with someone after such a long time must be hard.."
'We are not similar at all... Wukong lost his friends because they died... I lost everyone because I hurt and betrayed them... And I don't want it to happen again...'
Jie was lost in her thoughts so much that she didn't notice Sandy coming closer to her and even putting his hand on her shoulder.
"This is probably why you're irritated, because you are starting something new and risky and you don't want to be hurt-
"..."
"-But it feels so good that you want to give it a chance"
Again, a bright smile showed on Sandy's face.
Jie felt so many different emotions at one time... It became troublesome.
"I guess Monkey King is also trying to became your friend, why won't you give him a chance?"
"..."
"Can I have one last cup?"
As an answer Sandy took away her cup gently and gone to the kitchen, when he was back Jie looked into a now full cup and as she was about to drink it... She dropped it.
It wasn't intentional, in fact it was because she felt as a  shiver ran through her spine- no! It was more like a hit of a  lightning, this feeling was so new but yet she knew what that meant.
"Monkey King..." She muttered quitly and stood before Sandy" I need to go!"
As she was about to teleport she looked one more time at a face of the gentle giant.
"Thank you... Sandy" she whispered "I'll come again if you don't mind"
"Your welcome" Sandy said goodbye with his gently smile, as he watched Jie disappear into smoke
Tumblr media
MK watched helplessly at his mentor fighting with Macaque, in fact with the part of his power- Macaque became a strong enemy to Monkey King,
The speed, strength, power... everything was so similar and yet so different but it didn't escape MK's attention that Monkey King was holding back because of him, which made him even more ashamed.
But still there was only one Monkey King! It was the first time MK saw his mentor fighting seriously which made the fight more spectacular.
Unfortunately they escaped from his sight so MK couldn't watch how the battle of transformation have been going on or how Macaque used a horrible trick on his mentor, creating an illusion of his student- MK himself. As Wukong lowered his guard for a mere second Macaque's shadow clone used the opportunity and stroke him in the stomach, the next kick was just a matter of second but right then... a new character joined the fight...
Both simians were forced to back up because of the strong explosion of energy which left a huge cloud of pink smoke, before it calmed down...
"Forgive me for being late-
A familiar voice was heard
"JIE?!" Wukong shouted, somehow it seemed to be more angry than surprised tone of voice "Get out of there, you don't stand a chance before him!"
'I can see that...'
Jie looked at the soul of her master's opponent, it was a long time since she saw such a strong and evil aura, Wukong was right, she doesn't stand a chance before him. Her tail was trembling nervously feeling the incoming danger.
sniff...sniff....
'What an awful smell...'
"Well...welll, who do we got here?" Jie heard the male voice "Some new friend I see..."
Jie gazed for a moment at her opponent, waiting for something with an unpleasant face
"Ah! Where are my manners..."The monkey bowed before her "Let me introduce myself... They call me six-eared Macaque..." He said in a fake gentle way
'Macaque?'...
This strange name was echoing in Jie's head for a minute, then she realised and opened her mouth
"...Never heard that name before"Jie didn't even realise at first that she said it out loud until Macaque's left eye twitched
"Jie...You need to run-
"Master" Jie cut in Wukong's words "I need to talk with you but I see that you're busy now, so please let me help, even if just a little"
Wukong was silent for a moment, till he noticed shadow clones coming their way
"WATCH OUT!"
Jie in an instant cut the shadows in half which her blade, which was still trapped in scabbard. As she saw a glow on it a thought came across her mind.
'This might help...'
"Master!"Jie screamed to Wukong who was also busy fighting "Give me an order!"
"Huh? Now?!"
"Yes!- That's what I need- an order I need to fulfil...A GOAL!
Wukong's expression changed, he understood!
"I don't mean to disturb you or something..." Macaque spoke calmly "But I feel bad with being left out!" He jumped and pushed his weapon against Jie's blade.
Jie felt his power and strength but as she came closer to him the awful smell became stronger, she needed to finish it quickly!
"Jie!" She heard her master again "Listen to my order!"
Jie's ears perked to his side, hungry for words he was about to spoke.
"I order you to... protect MK!"
"..."
Jie closed her eyes, probably because of the light coming from her blade with made even Macaque step back.
Like that she touched the hilt of her sword, she felt the power that was ready to escape from the scabbard, so she took the blade out!
Everyone looked at her holding the-
"Wait...where's the blade?"Wukong blinked a few times at Jie holding a sword without it's blade!
"HAHAHAHAHhahha!" The awful, evil laugh filled the air "That's this powerful weapon?"
"What a shame..." he added quietly before attacking Jie once again but unless like before, Jie didn't block it, no! Istead she swallowed Macaques energy into scabbard and put the hilt into it again, in an instant the scabbard changed into yellow sword, made from energy so strong and wild that it was covered by lightnings.
Macaque didn't have a chance to take a closer look, since it was now Jie's turn to attack.
"Now... its time for a serious duel"

For your translation/writing question, I actually have more of a small rant. It's widely known that when Asian dramas became more popular in other parts of the world, the translation quality also decreased significantly. At this point any fan-subs are much better than the "official" subs, but the thing that drives me insane personally is how those subtitles don't have any -San, -sshi, - xiaojie/gongzi, huyn (?) , sempai, ge/a-jie anymore, it's all mister/miss and brother/sister now, or straight up just the names. And it's like. Not the same! The flavour is different! It's all fucking wrong!! AAAAAAAA
oh, i love reading rants! especially ones i agree with haha
yes, i would say this is one of the more frustrating aspects of watching asian shows/films—i'll focus on cdramas since (mandarin) chinese is the only language i actually speak, but i think that this applies broadly to other dramas.
on the one hand, i suppose i understand the reasoning of it—when subbing a foreign drama into english, especially one from a language like chinese where most english first-language speakers generally don't have a lot of familiarity with the culture and commonalities (we'll assume that the major demographic here is usamerican english first-language speakers, and not, for example, singaporeans, hong kongnese, etc), the base assumption for a broad audience is that they're not going to take the time to research words they're not familiar with—so you get things like gongzi -> young master, da-ge -> brother, etc, because the translators are essentially handholding the audience.
but in my opinion, this is an unfortunate decision to make. not only do the translated terms not have the same vibes, as the translated words don't occupy the same cultural environment as the original dialogue does (ie, usamerican culture largely doesn't call older siblings by an appellation like "big brother" or "older sister", so this is going to come off as strange to a native, english first-language speaker), but it's also, frankly, somewhat frustrating because of how non-western, non-english first-language speakers are expected to interact with english-language media. while english first-language speakers are handheld and have media domesticated for them (to use the term used by damion searls in "the philosophy of translation"), non-english first-language speakers are expected to learn the english language and culture if they want to interact with english language media. why is it that non-western audiences are expected to make an effort, but western audience aren't?
anyway, thank you for the rant, and letting me rant in return! this is a topic that i've ruminated on for a long time—and actually something that i've dealt with in my own translation work (which i can speak about further if you would like, but i won't belabour here).

Jiang Gunian Made A Change Part 8
“You’ve changed, Jie.” Jiang Cheng threw the statement out like he was throwing a rock into a river.
“How so?” His sister looked into the small brass mirror, seeing no changes in her appearance.
“You’re...” The heir struggled to find the words he was looking for. “Different. Than you were back home.“
“More decisive, ShiJie,” Wei WuXian agreed. “You talk back to that peacock instead of letting him push you around. It’s nice to see him getting treated as if he was just another person instead of the ‘heir to LanlingJin’.” He puffed out his chest and made a face to imitate Jin ZiXuan.
“A’Xian,” she scolded. “Be nice. How is Lan Er Gongzi doing?”
“Both jades look completely normal. It’s weird. I wonder if they cry when they’re alone.”
“You should keep him company,” she ordered. “Maybe spar with him. Help him get some of the hurt and anger he must be feeling out.”
Wei WuXian pretended to be shocked. “My beloved ShiJie wants my other best friend to beat me up?” He scooted towards the door to avoid Jiang Cheng’s foot. “I’m going, I’m going. No need to kick me out.”
Once only the siblings remained, Jiang YanLi relaxed a bit. “You’re the heir to Lotus Pier. You should learn to play nicely with the other heirs.”
“I will,” Jiang Cheng crossed his arms over his chest. “Except for Jin Gongzi.” At her sad look, he rushed to defend himself. “You didn’t hear what he said about you, Jie. Nasty things no husband should ever say about his wife. Especially you! You’re the prettiest girl in the world and so nice, and what he said? He’s lucky Wei WuXian punched him first. I was going to pummel him half to death.”
“You need to apologize to A’Xian for that,” she reminded her sibling.
“Apologize? For what? Fighting for your honor? I should award him!”
“Apologize for failing to keep your temper. Because of you, he was sent home from Cloud Recesses, and did not finish his studies there. Because of you, Mother beat him with Zidian.”
“How am I to blame for any of that? I didn’t make him fight. He did that on his own. Even if I’d been home, I couldn’t have stopped Mother. No one can. Not when she’s in one of her moods.”
Jiang YanLi firmed her spine and her voice. “The YunmengJiang heir was about to get into a fight with the LanlingJin heir. The very least that would have come from that is the dissolution of the betrothal agreement. Any treaties we have with the Jin? Any trade agreements? They could all have been wiped out because you wouldn’t control your temper upon hearing your sister insulted. You could have set back relations with the Jin for decades! And you think you don’t owe A’Xian an apology for anything? A junior disciple, no matter his title, is at the end of the day merely a junior disciple. A beating or exile from the sect would be an appropriate punishment for a junior assaulting an heir. Which is exactly what he got.”
“But....” The younger brother curled his hands into fists. “Are we supposed to just allow that peacock to insult you and not have any consequences?”
“The worst that insults would have caused is for Father to request the betrothal be dissolved. So.... Not only do I no longer have a husband in my future, our brother was punished at Cloud Recesses, kicked out of their lectures, and whipped by Zidian. Are you sure fighting was the better option?” She struggled to control her emotions. “You need to learn to think of all the repercussions of your actions, Didi. Not just the ones staring you in the face.”
Her brother looked down, suddenly ashamed, perhaps. “I’m sorry, Jie. I didn’t think. I... I just wanted him to pay for his insults.”
“You caused the wrong person to pay for those insults, A’Cheng,” she stated as gently as possible. “You need to apologize.”
“Yes, Jie.”

A/N I really need a title to this little fiction. Any ideas?

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before I get to the substantive meta post, let me just say that Sun Yi Zhou is ridiculously my RL type in terms of looks, and is 100% equipped to be one of those sexy general mains in danmei or het web novels.
But also! The first time around and even more so on this run, He Xia is a wonderful character who is just as interesting and complex (and in some ways more so) than our OTP. This drama is 62 eps and sometimes it’s to its detriment (the separation near the end could have been shortened in terms of runtime) but most of the time it uses its time wisely and the run time allows all characters to breathe, not just focusing on the OTP, making it more epic and real.
In another drama, he’d be the hero, a loyal, brave and competent general betrayed and hunted by his own king out of insecurity and returning to seek vengeance; Lan Ling Wang is actually about that very topic! (And is next on my rewatch list.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pontentiality for him and Chu Bei Jie is actually the same - both of their rulers are insecure losers and CBJ’s king comes pretty close a couple of times to doing to CBJ what He Xia’s king did to him. The difference is solely in that CBJ’s king is somewhat more functional (and has a somewhat deeper relationship with CBJ than Yan ruler does with He Xia) and that CBJ is older and tougher. But in a less lucky universe, I can easily see the Jin king overstepping irrevocably and you know CBJ would embark on the path of vengeance. In a way, it is fitting that He Xia is CBJ’s ultimate and final opponent because it’s CBJ who created him by intriguing with Yan king against Yan’s best generals’ family. It is totally understandable CBJ would do that as a Jin subject but the concept of you sow what you reap is delicious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why yes, the Yan king is the type of man who decides to hunt down his best general(s) while he’s fighting an existential war. Clearly he doesn’t have TV and never watched The Young Warriors, Patriot Yue Fei, Rebel Princess, Lan Ling Wang or a dozen other dramas about perils of the same (and not even getting into reading a single rudimentary chronicle either.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing that gets me in these early eps is that He Xia is just...good. He is a good person - a loyal subject, a brave general, a devoted son, a lovely quasi-brother/potential husband for Ping Ting and his incredulity about what is happening to him, to them, his attempt to believe that if he could only EXPLAIN, they would understand they are wrong and this is a good faith error, is heartbreaking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the end of the drama, he is a broken monster for whom death is a kindness, a man who amassed huge power but lost all humanity and everyone he’s ever loved. And he should be removed; a monster should not be allowed to rule the world. But when Chu Bei Jie kills him it isn’t a pure triumph of good over evil; it’s bittersweet at best and tragic at its base. Because CBJ is not the only reason He Xia is broken - the monster dimwit ruler is one, his psycho family (I agree with @mousieta his father’s “I am gonna off myself so he seeks revenge” is gross as hell), his own descent into darkness as the result of sufferings and humiliations he undergoes all play a part. But in a lot of way, Chu Bei Jie is putting down a monster he himself created, a man he once respected and who respected him, even if only as an honorable enemy, he is the one who set into motion a set of circumstances that turned a chevalier sans peur et sans reproche into a rabid animal.
It’s interesting though because CBJ is ruthless but he has his own set of rules and honor. When he comes for the old prince of Jin’s head, it’s because the man broke his word to retire. Unlike so many others in this narrative (including later He Xia), he is willing to give you an out if you take it; it does not have to be blood. (Side note, hell of an entrance!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even here, he spares the old general because he realizes he’s too old to be a threat. Too bad the man is one of the characters who’d rather die that be worsted and live to fight another day. Old man, congrats, you are building a road for your son to become a psycho.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CBJ’s grim face at that. Old man ain’t wrong, he’s wrecked CBJ’s life for many years to come as payback (though ultimately works out.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And He Xia survives his horrible battle and finding his mother having stabbed herself to death (a woman who did not think about her kid, both his parents are no good) only to find his father dead (I love love love that CBJ respected his fallen foe and made him a plaque.) PS when he starts digging into the burial mound with his bare hands!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PS This convo before it all goes truly to hell is super interesting because they are loving and affectionate but I do not get any romantic vibe on their part, just friends and quasi-siblings. The thing is, if nothing bad somehow happened and Ping Ting and He Xia got hitched, it would be a functional marriage with liking on both parts but not only is it not the passionate love she experiences with CBJ (or he with the Princess), Ping Ting would never truly be as fierce, as unleashed, as her own woman coming into her own as she is with CBJ. She’d always feel she owed He Xia’s family, and also much as I love him he’s not her equal the way CBJ is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@renewedmotionforjudgment said that one of the things she liked that Ping Ting and CBJ are adults making adult decision in an adult way and that is so perfectly put! But also, the rest of the characters are the same. Even characters who are petty or self-absorbed or immature are so in an adult way, if it makes sense. This drama is so damn good!

Okay but Little Miss Yingying always staring at Mingyan-jie's lips and thinking about her big breasts and her and Liu Mingyan are close!!!! She's seen her friend naked. But she's straight. All girls look at their pretty girl friends. Girls are cute!!! Everyone knows that!!!! Ning Yingying is dating Ming Fan!! And they are very happy, thank you!! If she sometimes thinks about how soft Mingyan-jie's lips are, Liu Mingyan is just the hottest girl ever!!! Everyone does it!!! Also Mingyan-jie is always in a face mask! There's an element of mystery, as well!!!
But....Ning Yingying is curious. Are girls lips softer?
She asks Ming Fan, who she knows has fooled around with some of his friends before her. Ming Fan agrees. Which....Ning Yingying bites her own lip. Maybe Ming Fan could start wearing chapstick for her? So she can kiss soft lips, too. Ming Fan melts for her, of course, but Ning Yingying still thinks about Mingyan-jie. She's sooo pretty. Ning Yingying asks Ming Fan what big breasts feel like during sex one day. Ming Fan laughs as he grabs hers because Ning Yingying isn't small. "I'm proportionate" she pouts, poking her tummy. "I'm not big for my size"
Ming Fan eventually asks her if Ning Yingying has a girl she wants in bed because she keeps asking him about girls. And Ning Yingying's brain immediately pictures Liu Mingyan. But she just pouts and presses up against her boyfriend saying she'd never cheat on him. Ming Fan, face red, says it doesn't need to be cheating: it could be.....like how they sometimes talk about sharing Ming Fan. Just....another person in bed. A....girl. In bed. That Ning Yingying sleeps with. Ming Fan stumbles over his words as he says he doesn't even need to be there, but he'd sure like to be. Ning Yingying swats her boyfriend because of course no one would be in bed with either of them without the other one. Her own face goes red. Outside of that one fantasy they both had.
They fuck instead of talking about bringing a girl into bed at the reminder of that fantasy, but Ming Fan brings it up again later. And Ning Yingying blushes as she says that she'd want to kiss.....she wants to kiss Mingyan-jie. Mingyan-jie is soooo pretty, how could she not want to. But Mingyan-jie doesn't like people wanting to kiss her just because she's pretty. Ming Fan laughs, nicely.
"I don't think that'd be a problem here," he says.
And Ning Yingying pouts. Liu Mingyan is her friend!! She knows she doesn't like being wanted just because she's pretty!! And Ming Fan pokes her. And then he betrays her!!!!
He tells Liu Mingyan that Ning Yingying has something to ask her!!!! No she doesn't!!!! But she stumbles and!!! Liu Mingyan knows her!!! Ning Yingying is caught out!!!! She just asks what it's like to kiss girls. There!!! And she mentions she made Ming Fan try chapstick, but it can only do so much so fast. And Liu Mingyan blinks at her before smiling. And then she grabs her chin!!!! And lifts her veil!!! And!!! And!!!!
Ning Yingying is being kissed!!! By not her boyfriend!!!!
But she melts into Mingyan-jie's embrace. Her lips really ARE soft. She lets herself be kissed until Liu Mingyan pulls away. Ning Yingying's chest is heaving. Her heart is pounding. Oh. That felt really nice. She really liked that. Liu Mingyan smiles again.
"Wanna try again?"
And, yes, please.
Ning Yingying makes out with Liu Mingyan until she's wet. Until she can feel Liu Mingyan's cock hard against her tummy. And then she flushes. She forgot about her boyfriend.
"Mingyan-jie, wait–"
"It's a little late to say you don't like girls."
Embarrassed, Ning Yingying shakes her head. "I–Ming Fan–"
"Said he doesn't care what happens after you ask whatever little question you had." Her cock presses against Ning Yingying's tummy. "Yingying, please keep making out with me. I've thought about this forever."
And Ning Yingying flushes. "Me too."
Her mouth is devoured after that. And then the two of them cum in their pants a while after like teenagers.
Ming Fan's face, when she slides next to him, is super red. If she looks down, she can see he's half hard. Oh, she thinks. She presses next to him.
"I think I like kissing girls," she whispers. "But I like kissing you, too."
"That's a relief," he says, grabbing her hand. "Mingyan is way too hot; I was worried."
"I've always liked you" she pouts. She can like both like he does. "Does Fan-ge wanna kiss her too?"
His cock doesn't lie, Ning Yingying notes.
"This is about you liking girls."
"Well, we can multitask. Mingyan-jie made me cum, by the way."
"Yingyingggggg," he whines.
Ning Yingying rubs her hand on Ming Fan, right there on the couch in Liu Mingyan's apartment. Liu Mingyan is changing out of her spent panties; Ning Yingying hadn't even changed out of hers. "I came in my panties, Fan-ge."
Ming Fan wiggles under her hand. "Yingying–"
"Fan-ge set this up for Yingying and doesn't want anything in return?" she pouts. "Sitting here while Yingying kissed Mingyan-jie. Was it lonely? Could you hear me?" Ning Yingying knows she cums loudly
"I–a little," Ming Fan admits, cock stiffening. "But–"
Ning Yingying straddles one of his legs, pressing her wet pussy down. Ming Fan swallows.
"Did you think about Mingyan-jie touching me?" p> "Yes," is whispered, cock so heavy in Ning Yingying's hand.
"Have you? Since I brought up kissing girls?" Her boyfriend's face flushes in shame, and he tries to curl away from her. Ning Yingying giggles. "I think about you kissing boys, dummy."
"Yea but it's–"
"Hot. Seeing my boyfriend good for someone else. Do you want to see me good for Mingyan-jie? I could be so good for her. She came in her panties." Ning Yingying rubs her pussy down, sighing. "Her cock was pressed up on my tummy. I could feel it."
"Yingying," Ming Fan says, cock twitching as his eyes look to Liu Mingyan's bedroom. "She's–"
"I want her to join us," Ning Yingying pouts. "You said this was about me liking girls. I want this."
Ming Fan tilts his head up like a good boy. Ning Yingying kisses him. She sets a pace of her hips.
"Do you think she'll see us and wait until I call her name? Or will she just come out."
Ming Fan swallows. "If it was one of her porn novels she'd come out with her cock lifting up the tiny skirt she was wearing."
Ning Yingying laughs. She throws her head back, "Mingyan-jie!!"
Ming Fan tries to shush her, and Ning Yingying just giggles so hard she can't even call out anymore. Liu Mingyan comes out of her room, face flushed. No face mask on. She's in a normal miniskirt, and both Ning Yingying and Ming Fan look down to see if they can see her cock. Liu Mingyan's face blushes a pretty red.
"Ah?"
Pouting, Ning Yingying keeps rubbing her pussy on her boyfriend's leg. "Did you think I’d do a cum and run? Mingyan-jieeeeeeeeeee."
"I didn't think you'd be fucking your boyfriend right after coming, no."
Ning Yingying smiles, bouncing on Ming Fan's leg. "Mingyan-jieeee! Fan-ge wants to try kissing girls, too."
Both Ming Fan and Liu Mingyan laugh at her.
"Yingying, you are a girl."
"Ming Fan wants to kiss girls."
Liu Mingyan gets it before Ming Fan.
"Ah? Is that so?" she says as she joins them on the couch, hand on Ning Yingying's back and ass landing on Ming Fan’'s other thigh. Ming Fan's face blushes so red in a way it hasn't since Ning Yingying first fucked him the first few times. It's very cute. "Is it, Fan-ge?" Liu Mingyan asks again.
Ming Fan looks at Ning Yingying first before her. He nods. She smiles as she leans in; Ming Fan gasps before her lips even touch his.
She brings her hand down on top of Ning Yingying's on his cock. Liu Mingyan takes her time with his lips, kissing him leisurely. She can't get hard again, yet. So she isn't in a hurry. Ning Yingying is happily setting the slow pace on Ming Fan's cock as she rubs on his thigh like a slut, Ning Yingying brings her mouth in, giving a wet kiss where Liu Mingyan and Ming Fan are kissing. Ming Fan laughs as Liu Mingyan pulls away.
"What are you doing?"
"Kissing! c:"
"Yingying..."
"What! I was feeling left out."
Ming Fan kisses his girlfriend, and then Ning Yingying kisses Liu Mingyan.
"I want kisses, too!"
"I thought we were about Ming Fan this round," Liu Mingyan says.
"We can be about everyone >:c" Ning Yingying counters.
"You started it by saying Ming Fan wants to kiss girls"
"Well, now I want to be included. I want to kiss girls. And my boyfriend."
Snorting and laughing, Liu Mingyan and Ming Fan, respectively, silently agree to kiss the daylights out of Ning Yingying as she happily ruts herself into another orgasm on top of Ming Fan. Sighing happily as she kisses Liu Mingyan through her orgasm, Ning Yingying pulls away dreamily.
"I like this."
"Mhm," Liu Mingyan agrees, cock hard on Ming Fan's thigh. "I think your poor boyfriend wants to cum, though."
Ning Yingying squeezes her hand where it has been slowly and lazily rubbing her boyfriend off. "Mingyan-jie can do it."
"He's your boyfriend"
"He wants to experience girls :c"
"Either one of you, please," Ming Fan interrupts, hips wiggling as much as they can under the combined weight of both girls.
Ning Yingying pouts cutely at Liu Mingyan as she removes her hand. Liu Mingyan sighs, shifting so she can rub her cock on top of Ming Fan's. "Is this okay?"
Ming Fan nods, and Liu Mingyan captures his lips in a kiss. She brings his hands up to her breasts, moaning as he squeezes. He is quick to do what he wants with them, presumably what Ning Yingying likes. And that thought makes Liu Mingyan's hips jerk. She could easily cum if he keeps it up. Ning Yingying makes soft content sighs beside them. Again? Liu Mingyan thinks as she pulls away to look. Ming Fan huffs as he says that his girlfriend is a horny sex fiend. Her wanting a girlfriend, too, will save his cock, he jokes. And Ning Yingying pokes his forehead.
"I'll still bully you just as much. You moan too pretty not to," she says, and Liu Mingyan is caught on bully.
Ning Yingying, bullying her boyfriend. Ning Yingying, bullying her. She grinds hard down on Ming Fan's cock. "Does Ning Yingying like to be in charge?"
"Yea," and "Yes," at the same time.
And well, say less. Liu Mingyan ruts her way into her second orgasm of the day, rutting even after Ming Fan himself cums. Pretty little Yingying, a bully and her boytoy that Liu Mingyan could play with, too. It makes Liu Mingyan's heart pound at thought. She presses a kiss to Ming Fan’s forehead. "Well? do girlfriend and boyfriend both like kissing girls?"
Ning Yingying beams as she looks at Ming Fan. They both say yes. Liu Mingyan's tummy swoops.
"Enough for.....enough for– enough to–"
Ning Yingying sits behind her, breasts squishing against her back. "Enough to not let Mingyan-jie go now."

He's not as bad as he seemed to be after all - Chapter 6 - shit indeed
If before he thought, he was screwed, now he knew it without a doubt. He sat up.
“Jiang Cheng. How did you get here?” Wei Wuxian asked, panic clear in his eyes. How much did he hear? When? HOW???
“Don’t you Jiang Cheng me and don’t try to change the topic. Answer me this: what the fuck happened to your golden core? What is it about Wen Qing performing a surgery?!”
Oh, he’s pissed alright. The Jiang Sect Leader was visibly fuming, his face the colour of puce, eyes bloodshot, breathing rapid. He'll be steaming from his ears soon enough if I won’t do something to calm him down a bit.
“I can explain, just... calm down, please?”
“Fuck calming down! You will answer me this instant!”
This is bad, this is bad, this is bad...
“Can anyone put up the sound barrier? Or will you let everyone in the Cloud Recesses know? I thought this was supposed to stay secret...” said Wei Wuxian looking at the Lans in the room. It seemed to snap them out of the shocked stupor at last.
“Of course,” Lan Xichen responded, casting the spell. The blue dome spread beyond the room, finally allowing some privacy.
“So? Do you deign it safe enough to tell me now?” Jaing Cheng asked, arms crossed, anger clearly visible on his face.
Wei Wuxian took a steadying breath.
“Do you remember in Yiling, after Lotus Pier, when Wen Qing was hiding us away? I told you I remembered where Baoshan Sanren’s mountain was. Well... I didn’t remember. I never knew...”
Jiang Chen shook his head.
“No, I met her. I met Baoshan Sanren, she restored my core.”
Wei Wuxian grimaced, unsure of how to put it into words.
“She didn’t. It was Wen Qing.” At his brother’s disbelieving look he hurried to explain. “I found an antient scroll in her library. Pestered her until she agreed. She did a surgery. A core transplant,” he finally settled on saying.
Jiang Cheng’s eyes grow round in shock and denial.
“Core transplant? It's impossible. There's no such a thing.”
“Yes, there is,” Wei Wuxian said, grimacing even more. “That’s why I don’t have one. I gave it to you.” He shrunk back on the bed, waiting for the inevitable explosion that surely will hit him square in the face.
“No. NO! It's impossible! I can’t have your core!” Jiang Cheng shouted in clear distress and started pacing around the room. He was muttering something illegible for a time, but then his volume started growing and his words became clearer. “...after everything. After all I did to draw their attention from you! Why would you do such a thing?!” he finally asked turning back towards Wei Wuxian.
That made him perk up a little. Sitting straighter on his bed, Wei Wuxian asked with confusion.
“Draw their attention? Who's attention? Jiang Cheng, what did you do!?” Wei Wuxian’s horror grew with every imagined possibility.
Jiang Cheng deflated slightly, but still was incredibly angry.
“When we were on the run, in that town we stopped to rest and you went to get some food, I saw Wens approaching you. I had to do something. I couldn’t lose you too. So I showed myself to them. I couldn’t let them catch you, so I let them catch me...”
Wei Wuxian froze, his eyes almost falling out of his sockets. He could remember that situation. He was ready to fight them and draw them away from his siblings, but somebody shouted, and they left him alone. No, not somebody. Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng, who was taken back to Lotus Pier, beaten and tortured. Jiang Cheng, whose core was melted.
“It’s my fault,” he said weakly looking at his brother. “Jiang Cheng... Your core... It’s my fault you lost it...”
Hearing this, Jiang Cheng moved closer to him, determination filling his eyes.
“No, Wei Wuxian, it’s not. I knew what would happen to me if they caught me. And I knew you could survive, protect A-Jie and rebuild our sect.”
“No, Jiang Cheng, I could not,” said Wei Wuxian, shaking his head. “You were the sect heir, sect leader! I’m just a nobody, a son of a servant. I’m replaceable. But you are a true Jiang, you were meant to lead our sect and become the greatest sect leader the Jiang ever known! Don’t you understand? I couldn’t let you waste away. I had to find a way to heal you somehow. The transplant was the first light in the darkness I found after weeks of looking, reading every medical text Wen Qing had in her library. And it worked, Jiang Cheng. It worked!”
“At what cost?!” Jiang Cheng argued. “And what’s that about being nobody huh? You're my fucking brother whether you want it or not! You're family!”
“But Madam Yu...” Wei Wuxian started to argue back but was not allowed to finish before Jiang Cheng interrupted him.
“I don’t give a fuck what she said or what she did, you are my brother for fucks sake! You were my brother from the moment father brought you home, the first real friend I had after years of other kids avoiding me and not wanting to play with me because I was the sect heir and my mother chasing everyone away. You refused to leave me alone despite my mother’s constant nagging that I shouldn’t play with anybody of lower station. I loved my mother but in this she was wrong. She didn’t allow anyone near me, yet she refused to have any more children. To give me more siblings to play with. She kept repeating to father that her duty as a wife was done for years before you came to live at Lotus Pier. You are my Twin Pride of Yunmeng. My brother. Even if it’s not by blood, my heart keeps screaming it to me every minute of every day. No matter how much you irritate me and how much trouble you bring, you’re family and family sticks together. Especially after everything we went through,” vented Jiang Cheng.
It was Wei Wuxian’s turn to be in shock. His eyes started to water. For so many years he was trying to get Jiang Cheng to admit their siblinghood, even martial one, but he always dodged it and denied it. His heart was beating fast in his chest. Oh, he loved his shidi. The best shidi ever.
“Jiang Cheng,” he said with adoration in his eyes. Jiang Cheng’s glare softened, and he came even closer, deciding to sit on the bed. He took out a handkerchief from his lapel and gave it to Wei Wuxian. He looked slightly embarrassed and lost. He was never good with emotions that was not his hallmark anger.
“Why are you crying you big baby huh? Just you wait. You should save it for when jiejie will find out. You’ll be cut off from her soup for months, I tell you,” Jiang Cheng said light-heartedly, wanting to draw his attention away from the heavy emotions he was just subjected to. It worked.
“Noooo, Jiang Cheng you can’t do that to meeeee... Pleeeaaase, you know how much I love shijie’s soup,” Wei Wuxian whined like a child.
“I think it’s high time for you to finally start calling her jiejie too,” said Jiang Cheng. He got up from the bed, standing straight in his full, yet slightly dishevelled, sect leader glory. “As soon as we’re back in Lotus Pier, we’ll hold an official adoption ceremony. Everyone will have no doubt you are part of the clan, not only the sect.”
Wei Wuxian froze. Again. How many more surprises will I encounter today? First Lan Qiren, then Lan Zhan, then Lan daifu, then Lan Xichen, now Jiang Cheng, twice at that... Can I just go to sleep now? Madam Yu would be so disappointed and horrified...
“But, Jiang Cheng, your mother...”
“My mother is dead. She cannot stop me now,” Jiang Cheng said with determination. “Father should’ve done that years ago, but he was too weak. I am not my father, neither am I my mother. And besides, as your sect and clan leader it is my decision to make. I made it.” He turned to the gathered Lans, as if he never forgot that they were present. “I am taking you as my witnesses. From this day on, Wei Wuxian is my adoptive brother, and he will be treated as such. Also, until I have my own children, he will be my heir presumptive.”
“As you said, Sect Leader Jiang,” said Lan Xichen with a smile. He then turned to Wei Wuxian. “Wei gongzi, congratulations on your adoption and new position in your sect.”
Wei Wuxian couldn’t take it anymore. Too many emotions for the day.
“Oh hell, I’m screwed. Lan Zhan, save me...” he turned to his zhiji, hiding his face in Lan Zhan’s waist. Lan Zhan put his arm around him, his flowy sleeve hiding Wei Wuxian from view. His other hand though reached for his chin, making him look up to Lan Zhan’s face.
“Mn. Wei Ying deserves to be treated with full honours due to sect leader’s brother and heir,” Lan Zhan stated sincerely.
Wei Wuxian blushed furiously.
“Not you too...” he tried to hide again, but decided against it and tried his luck in dissuading Jiang Cheng from his decision. “I know nothing about being an heir. I’m doomed to make a fool out of myself.”
“Don’t worry,” Jiang Cheng said with a smirk. “When we come back, I’ll teach you everything you need to know. A-jie will help as well. Now we need to focus on your health.” Turning to Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng bowed slightly. “Sect Leader Lan, I would be happy to offer my help finding Wen Qing. Please let me know when you’ll find out where she and her family is, I’ll send any resources I can spare to help you transport and guard them until they are safely under your jurisdiction.”
“Thank you, Sect Leader Jiang. I will contact you when I know something,” responded Lan Xichen.
“It may be wise to deploy several of your most trusted men to form a search team,” suggested Lan Qiren. “I doubt the Jin will want to cooperate without any problems. Jin Guangshan is not one to take a defeat easily. Xichen, speak with Nie Mingjue, explain him our suspicions about Jin’s too quick agreement to our request of taking the Dafan Wens. Ask for his most trusted as well. Hopefully, your long-standing friendship with him will make it easy. Now let us leave, Wei Wuxian needs his rest”
“Yes, that he does,” confirmed Lan daifu. “Wangji, I assume you want to stay?”
“Mn,” Lan Zhan confirmed with slight nod.
“Very well, but no funny business. Your Wei Ying needs care, not straining energy that he lacks at the moment. Do I make myself clear?”
“Mn” responded Lan Zhan, his ears reddening adorably by the second.
“Good. I will be back within a shichen with next dose of your medication Wei gongzi.”
“Ugh, I hate your bitter poisons,” grimaced Wei Wuxian.
“Stop exaggerating. You’re not a child,” Jiang Cheng scolded with his usual angry face back on its place.
“But Xianxian is three,” he fluttered his eyelashes innocently with his best pout to accompany it.
“Three my ass,” Jiang Cheng huffed. Wei Wuxian knew that the next thing his brother will say will come from his rarely used but well cultivated mischievous core. He had that glint in his eyes that bode trouble. “Besides, if you’re three, you can’t marry. And from what I see, there is a marriage contract I need to negotiate here.” He turned to Lan Xichen again with a smirk. “Maybe after Dafan Wens are settled here we can schedule a meeting, Sect Leader Lan?”
“With pleasure, Sect Leader Jiang.” Lan Xichen had suspiciously very similar glint in his eyes, as he answered with a smile.
Then it hit him. Wait, wait, wait...
“Marriage?!”

Blink of an eye and you're 4!!! You asked for a Bluey Party and we gave you one. How much do you love mummy? You will always say - toooo mmmuuuch!!! Always want to know what I'll be up to in sequence after you go to bed - yes, mummy will clean the kitchen, then have a shower, then spend time with daddy, then off to bed. Mummy will say I can't get enough of you! And you will squish my face and say you can't get enough of me too! When I ask you to stop growing, you will say, too bad!! I'm growing taller and stronger!! There's nothing I can do, I can't stop time. All I can do is hug you tight everyday and enjoy and savour as much of you in the present time. You are chill and easy going, yet know what you want and not afraid to voice your opinion. When you play, you say I'm the manager :) You appreciate food and love to eat! You will ask a potential new friend - will you be my best friend? And only when they agree, then you ask what their name is and start being their friend. You are generous in sharing and always think of your big sister when we go shopping. Can we get this and that for jie jie? There's so much to you and we can't wait to see more of your uniqueness and individuality come to light. Happy Birthday baby girl. We love you so much xx https://www.instagram.com/p/CpcEKr1Pm3gI6sD881_2rsy_4kwhiQr3CuGz-Y0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Happy birthdayyyy🎈🎈 I'd like more of the mo xuanyu one please and thanks
a continuation of 1 2 3
Lan Wangji does not want to get married.
However, he wants his brother to get married to a woman he does not love even less. Xichen has someone he loves. This whole scheme was supposed to end in an alliance with the Jin, with Xichen married to the man he loves.
Jin Guangshan was supposed to offer his son who's been legitimized for a decade, who has been working with the Lan for even longer, who anyone who's been paying attention knows loves Xichen.
Instead he'd hastily legitimized his bastard daughter and offered her for the alliance.
Lan Wangji's choice was easy. Wei Ying is dead. Jin Guangyao is alive. There's no reason both him and his brother should be separated from the men they love.
"You don't have to do this," Xichen says softly from his side.
He's saved from answering from the door sliding open and a soft voice announcing, "Madame Jin and Lady Jin have arrived."
Jiang Yanli steps in first, which he hadn't been expecting, but maybe he should have. She's been nearly as upset about this as Xichen.
Then in steps Jin Xuanyu, the woman he's agreed to marry.
She's young.
Not terribly young, not inappropriately young, but closer to his son's age than his own. She has on the many gold an ivory robes of the Jin, but she shifts uncomfortably, as if not used to their weight.
Her hand goes to her hip before she bows to them, arms outstretched, as if she used to to reaching for a sword. The marriage wouldn't be an acceptable match if she wasn't a cultivator, which is likely why she was chosen over Jin Guangshan's other bastards, but if she's not even carrying a sword then her skills have to be mediocre at best. She's so skinny and pale he doubts she could do much damage with any sort of blade.
Not that it matters.
"Lady Jin," Xichen says, bowing, "it's wonderful to finally meet you."
Lan Wangji mirrors his brother, waiting.
"Um, yes, same," she says. If nothing else, her voice isn't unpleasant. "Please call me - uh. Just Xuanyu is fine. Please."
That surprises him a little. He stands. Her nose is scrunched in distaste. From the nervousness of her tone, he'd been expecting her to fidget or shift her weight, but she's standing tall, almost improperly.
"You are a Jin now," Jiang Yanli says gently.
Xuanyu's frown almost pulls back into a sneer before she meets Jiang Yanli's concerned gaze and it shifts into a laugh. "I suppose being a Jin must be a good thing if A-jie is one too, right?"
Xichen raises an eyebrow at the endearment, but Jiang Yanli smiles, placing her hand on Xuanyu's back. "Right."
"Shall we eat?" Xichen suggests, gesturing for them all to take a seat. He pours them all tea, shaking his head at a servant when he steps forward to help. "Lady Xuanyu," Xuanyu rolls her eyes at the title which Lan Wangji decides he doesn't find endearing, "why don't you tell us a little about yourself?"
Her eyes go wide and she looks away. "Uh, well - I thought there was no speaking during meal times?"
Jiang Yanli raises her sleeve to cover her smile and Xichen doesn't bother. "We are not in Cloud Recesses, Lady Xuanyu. You make speak freely."
"Oh." She takes a large gulp of her tea like she's swallowing something more bracing. "There's not much to say. I've lived a boring life. What about you, Lan Xi - er, Clan Leader Lan? Did you have a nice trip?"
Xichen frowns, but lets her deflect, instead describing a stream they'd passed on the way here.

Replaced Au
Me: *smiling creepily*
Lucifer: w-why do you look like that..?!
Mammon: I think the better question is why we’re all here…
Rielle: that is something I like to know.
Nobunaga: better question is who you all.
Me: better question if your all still complete d1cks?
Them: …
Me: let’s talk about replacing our BELOVED mcs~!!
Mitsunari: replacing what now??
Me: sweet somersault child, it means completely and disregarding MC for another.
Malleus: why would I do that to child of man?
Me: let’s call it…a possibility. Not to mention almost all of y’all have horrible sense of telling which woman is good or bad.
Azul: hey!
Me: I kinda wanna add Diabolik Lover dummies here but I scratch the idea by giving them nightmares or basically bloody letters of warnings since I kinda not in the fandom anymore but- that’s not the point.
Clavis: why would we replaced belle for that matter?
Arthur: yeah! I would have to agree with this bloke. Why on earth would I disregard MC for another woman?
Me: cause you can’t read the room and unintentionally make them feel insecure and jealous. Not to mention those flock of women and sometime not knowing it. If you do an uno reverse, you get what I mean you dense birds for brains.
Shingan: wait…so that’s why MC avoided all of us cause women were around?!
Me: yes! Why do you think Kichi and Sasuke got the assignment, they went with her to take it off her mind. Actually, why do we even adore y’all in the first place?! Oh wait— red flags. Yep. Why do I even bother…
Mitsuhide: you sound very similar to hideyoshi, M.I.
Me: I know I sound like hidemama.
Hideyoshi: I’m a man! Not a woman.
Me: yeah..yeah. Anyway. Here’s a warning. Break their hearts and use their kindness and help vainly and not being grateful. I’ll break your legs and cut off yo d1cks.
Epel: your sounding like Jiang Wanyin-sama…
M.I: I know. Don’t want what happen to Wen Chao on y’all do you?
Twst boys: *nod*
RSA: ?????
Wei Wuxian: WHO SUMMONED ME?!
Me: WTF-?! Aren’t you guys suppose to be in your world or the multi-mansion or at tthe ramshackle dorms?!
Wei Wuxian: nope! Whatcha doing~?
Me: threatening them to not break or use the MC kindness and helpfulness and disregarding them for another. Similar to how you do it for Jiang Yanli-Jie Jie.
Wei Wuxian: oh~! You mean them? Yeah, I’ve met them. Really remind me a lot like shijie. Now here a word, break their heart and replaced them. We both break you. *has scary green eyes*
Theo: first of all, where is this coming from?!
Me: blame the demons. *slaps the replaced Au and sad mc angst on the table*
Ikemen series boys: … *pissed*
Twst: *very pissed*
Obey me: …*feeling weirdly guilty cause of their alternative selves*
Me: to think…to think…you would do this to a poor INNOCENT LAMB!!! *being held back by Wei Wuxian and Vincent* YOU DESERVES PUNISHMENT!!!
Mammon: but it’s not us!!! Alright!!
Me: it could happen.
Chevalier: don’t worry, we don’t really open easily to others beside our belle. But if this were to happen. The sheep can stay with us.
Comte: or us. I’m sure it be a lovely editions.
Leona: for a mere sheep, I suppose Savanaclaw will welcome it.
Lucifer: why are you all looking at us like that.
Jean: why else. Madame MC and her friends do not deserves sinners and filth. *sheathes rapier*
Napoleon: Jean. Rapier down. Surely some of you can see this is idiocy right? *smiling not meet his eyes*
Simmon: of course. MC deserves better than that. The heavens will welcome.
13: seriously, men am I right M.I?
Solomon: when did you get here?!
Me: she was here long ago solo cup.
Solomon: …
Arthur: guess we’re not the only victims huh?
Solomon: shut it you 2 star rated writer.
Arthur: EX-cuse?!
Me: I’m sure you all understand the assignment correct?
Nobunaga: of course we do. Though, thank you for telling us about the jealousy part.
Me: go suck Kenshin d1ck.
Nobunaga: …
Kenshin: …
Shingan: kinky~!
Me: omg Shingan…WHY!!! NO! *sprays water on Shin-gone* BAD SHINS.
Yukimura: m’lord!!!

Secret Marriage
Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue are giggling when they stumble through the door. There’s nothing even remotely funny about the situation, except that they are together and happy and just drunk enough to find it funny.
“Your brother’s parties are dangerous,” Jiang Cheng says, clinging to Nie Mingjue’s arm when he stumbles and it makes Nie Mingjue laugh again.
“They are,” he agrees with a groan and steers them towards the couch where he promptly sits down, resting his head against the backrest. “I’m so tired,” he whispers and Jiang Cheng giggles again, even though there’s still no reason for it.
“It’s almost three am, of course you’re tired,” he says between his chuckles and sits down next to Nie Mingjue, completely pressed to his side and throwing his legs over Nie Mingjue’s lap.
Now that they are sitting down, exhaustion hits him and Jiang Cheng blinks slowly.
“We should go to bed,” he slurs out, as much impacted by the alcohol as by his tiredness and Nie Mingjue hums.
“You know what we should do?” he asks and puts his arm around Jiang Cheng.
“What?”
“Marry.”
“What.”
“We should marry,” Nie Mingjue says again and despite the way it makes Jiang Cheng feel warm down to his bones he frowns.
“We’ve only been together for seven months,” he argues but it’s mostly because he feels like he has to.
“So what. You’re practically living with me anyway and I don’t see myself ever dating anyone else. Do you?” Nie Mingjue asks him and Jiang Cheng shakes his head even as he pats Nie Mingjue’s chest.
“We should not make decisions while drunk,” Jiang Cheng says and channels his sister’s voice of reason.
“True. So marry me in the morning,” Nie Mingjue whispers, clearly already half asleep and Jiang Cheng nods.
He would marry Nie Mingjue in a heartbeat, drunk or not, and that’s his last thought before he, too, falls asleep.
Jiang Cheng wakes up to a splitting headache and lips pressed to his forehead.
“Marry me,” Nie Mingjue mumbles, and Jiang Cheng snorts, not caring that his head feels like it’s exploding.
“You’re still drunk,” he accuses Nie Mingjue who promptly waves a cup of coffee under Jiang Cheng’s nose.
“I am no such thing,” he corrects him when Jiang Cheng almost yanks the cup out of his hands.
“Are you sure?” Jiang Cheng asks between sips and when Nie Mingjue also puts a painkiller into his hand, Jiang Cheng sighs contentedly.
“You’re the best and I love you.”
“Then marry me,” Nie Mingjue says again and now that Jiang Cheng is a little bit more awake, he notices that Nie Mingjue is already dressed and seems to be fully awake.
So he truly is no longer drunk. And that means there’s only one answer Jiang Cheng can give.
“Okay. Yes. I will marry you.”
His answer is met with a hungry kiss and by the time they part, his coffee has almost gone cold.
“Let’s do it today,” Jiang Cheng decides and Nie Mingjue smiles at him, his wide, happy smile that puts his dimples on display and makes his eyes crinkle.
“Yes,” he enthusiastically agrees and twines their fingers together. “And let’s not tell anyone.”
“My soul, if we go to the courthouse we need witnesses,” Jiang Cheng tells him. “That means we need at least two people.”
Nie Mingjue makes a grimace at that.
“Not Huaisang. I love him, but he’s going to make such a huge thing out of this.”
“Not my siblings, either, for the same reasons,” Jiang Cheng agrees and shares a look with Nie Mingjue.
“Zonghui?” Jiang Cheng then asks and Nie Mingjue nods.
“And Wen Qing.”
“Good idea,” Jiang Cheng says and gets his phone out, immediately dialling her number.
“This better be serious,” Wen Qing greets him and Jiang Cheng winces when he realizes that he just woke her up.
And she doesn’t sound too happy about it.
“I need you as a witness,” Jiang Cheng tells her and there’s a suspicious silence on the other end of the line.
“I am not going to cover up a crime for you,” she then tells him and Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes.
“I’m not Wei Wuxian, Qing-jie,” he says with a sigh. “I need you as a witness for my marriage.”
“Are you still drunk?”
“No.”
“Are you under duress?”
“No.”
“Are you marrying Nie Mingjue?”
“Yes.”
A pause.
“Fine. When do you need me?”
Jiang Cheng looks at Nie Mingjue.
“In two hours?” he asks and Nie Mingjue nods. “Yes, in two hours,” he says again, this time more to Wen Qing, who sighs.
“I’ll be there,” she promises. “Now let me properly wake up.”
Before Jiang Cheng can say anything to that she hung up on him and he shrugs.
“She’ll be there.”
“I texted Zonghui, he’ll be there, too,” Nie Mingjue tells him and pulls him in for a kiss. “I can’t believe I’m going to marry you.”
“I can’t believe it either,” Jiang Cheng whispers back, but he’s so, so happy.
“Now let’s get ready, Wen Qing will have our heads if we don’t look our best.”
“True,” Jiang Cheng says with a snort and gets up.
He has to prepare for his wedding.
~*~*~
Wen Qing is already waiting in front of the courthouse when they arrive and she doesn’t look too happy.
“You’re late,” she snaps, but she looks approvingly at their outfit. “At least you dressed for the occasion.”
“It is our wedding,” Jiang Cheng says, slightly hurt that Wen Qing expected him to show up like a slob.
“True.” Her gaze fixes on Nie Mingjue. “If you make him cry, just know that we always are in need of fresh organs at the hospital. And I know how to keep you alive.”
Nie Mingjue tenses at Jiang Cheng’s side, but he dutifully nods.
“I promise, there will only ever be happy tears,” he promises her.
“Good. Now. Who is this?” she asks with a look around Jiang Cheng, her threat apparently already forgotten.
“That’s Nie Zonghui, my cousin,” Nie Mingjue says and Wen Qing let’s her eyes roam over him as he steps out from behind Nie Mingjue.
“So it runs in the family then,” she finally says and Jiang Cheng splutters.
“I thought you were gay!”
“I’m bi, thank you very much, and I can damn well appreciate a beautiful man,” she says, completely shameless and Nie Zonghui smiles at her.
“How about admiring me from here?” he asks as he steps close and offers his arm to her.
“And he has manners too,” she appreciatively says and puts her hand on his arm. “Shall we?” she asks and then they are off into the courthouse, leaving Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng to stare after them.
“What have we just done?” Nie Mingjue whispers and Jiang Cheng shrugs.
“I am not sure. But maybe we should follow them before they steal our spot. Or kill us.”
“True,” Nie Mingjue nods and leads Jiang Cheng into the building.
The wedding is over quickly; a few words from the clerk, signatures from all four of them and a kiss and then that’s done.
Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue are married.
“You don’t even have rings, do you?” Wen Qing asks judgingly but Jiang Cheng is too busy smiling at Nie Mingjue to care about her tone.
“Nope.”
“Unbelievable. You should get to that then,” she tells them and looks at Nie Zonghui. “And should take me out for lunch.”
“With pleasure,” he says and smiles at Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng. “Congratulations to you both again, but you really should get rings to go with your marriage.”
“We have that handled,” Jiang Cheng quickly says and reaches for Nie Mingjue’s hand. “You go and have fun.”
“Oh, we will,” Wen Qing assures them and then promptly leaves them, Nie Zonghui following after her.
“We better get those rings now,” Jiang Cheng says to Nie Mingjue who smiles brightly at him.
“Yes, husband,” he agrees happily and Jiang Cheng blushes.
He himself couldn’t be happier.
~*~*~
Sibling’s lunch is as chaotic as ever and Jiang Cheng enjoys ever second of it. He’s in a heated discussion with Jin Zixuan and Nie Mingjue, while Jiang Yanli is talking a bit more quietly to Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, when suddenly Wei Wuxian stands up, effectively getting all the attention.
“My dear family,” he says and then winks at Jin Zixuan, “and Jin Zixuan,” he adds then, making everyone laugh, including Jin Zixuan.
“I have an announcement to make.”
“Are you pregnant?” Jiang Cheng asks and enjoys how Lan Wangji’s ears turn slightly red.
Wei Wuxian might be completely shameless, but Lan Wangji is not so.
“No! A-Cheng, no! But—” he makes a dramatic pause. “we did kind of elope and got married,” he then rushes out and the whole table goes silent.
“Wei Wuxian,” Jiang Cheng then snaps out and Wei Wuxian laughs, making Jiang Cheng laugh as well.
“The holiday last week was our honeymoon,” Wei Wuxian admits and Jiang Cheng shakes his head.
“I’m happy for you,” Jiang Cheng says and pats Lan Wangji’s back. “Very happy.”
“But A-Xian,” Jiang Yanli says, tears in her eyes. “We didn’t celebrate!”
“We can celebrate now,” Wei Wuxian says with a wince.
“True,” Jiang Yanli admits and then smiles under her tears. “I am so happy for you!”
“Thank you,” Wei Wuxian says, a little teary eyed now himself and then he winks at Jiang Cheng. “And besides, we can still have our big celebration when Jiang Cheng and Mingjue finally decide to tie the knot.”
“That’s right,” Jiang Yanli agrees and Jiang Cheng freezes in his chair. “How long has it been now, three years? Did you already talk about it?”
“Uhm,” Nie Mingjue says and looks to Jiang Cheng for help.
“About that,” Jiang Cheng hesitantly says.
“Jiang Wanyin,” Jiang Yanli sternly says and Jiang Cheng reaches out for Nie Mingjue’s hand.
“We kind of did that already?” he then asks and both he and Nie Mingjue reach for the chain around their necks, their wedding rings usually nestled under their clothes pulled out now. “Surprise?”
“Jiang Wanyin!” Wei Wuxian now also yells and Jiang Cheng winces. “For how long?”
“Two and a half years now?” Jiang Cheng winces. “We only took Qing-jie and Zonghui as witnesses.”
“I see,” Jiang Yanli says. “That’s why they never told anyone how they started dating.”
“Yeah,” Nie Mingjue confirms. “We’re sorry.”
“A-Cheng, so long and you never said?” Jiang Yanli asks and she sounds sad, which Jiang Cheng hates.
“Well, it was kind of a spur of the moment decision and then it felt so natural that we never really talked about it again?”
“So you have been happily married,” Jin Zixuan says and Jiang Cheng nods.
“So very happily,” he agrees and Jin Zixuan looks at his own wife.
“Are you going to be mad at them for being happy?” he asks and Jiang Yanli deflates.
“Of course not,” she decides. “I am very happy for you,” she tells Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng then, and they nod, before Nie Mingjue sucks in a breath.
“Fuck, Huaisang,” he says and turns wide eyes on Jiang Cheng.
“We have to call him right now,” Jiang Cheng agrees and watches as Nie Mingjue fumbles his phone out of his pocket.
“Da-ge,” Nie Huaisang greets him warmly and Nie Mingjue looks to Jiang Cheng for strength.
“Di-di, listen,” he starts with and Nie Huaisang goes quiet on the other end.
“What have you done?” he then demands and Nie Mingjue cringes.
“Huaisang, Mingjue and I have been married for two and a half years now,” Jiang Cheng says when it becomes apparent that Nie Mingjue is not going to say anything.
“Nie Mingjue,” Nie Huaisang says and Nie Mingjue flinches. “You fucking asshole,” he says and Nie Mingjue’s face falls. “I am so happy for you, but you fucking suck,” Nie Huaisang says. “You will allow me to throw a party for you and I will not hear any complaints.”
Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng share a look and Jiang Cheng nods.
“Of course, di-di,” Nie Mingjue agrees.
“Huaisang, please don’t be mad,” Jiang Cheng adds and Nie Huaisang huffs.
“Of course I am mad. I have been planning your marriage for two years now and now you just tell me it’s already all done? That’s so rude. I mean, I truly am so happy for you, no questions asked, but I had the party and everything planned. You just ruined that for me and I am going to be a little bit mad for a while longer.”
“You can still do a party for us,” Nie Mingjue says and Nie Huaisang sighs.
“I know da-ge, and I will. Be prepared for the party of the century,” he threatens and then promptly hangs up.
“He’s not that mad,” Jiang Cheng reassures Nie Mingjue. “He called you da-ge, he can’t be that mad.”
“True,” Nie Mingjue says with a nod and then they both startle when Jiang Yanli clears her throat.
They both turn towards the table again and when they are met with equally threatening smiles from Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng reaches for Nie Mingjue’s hand, who meets him halfway.
This is going to be a long lunch.

Chapter 10- The Mirror Blade
Previous|Table of contents|Next
In the Monkie Kings cave
"One.."
"Two"
'...'
"Nineteen... Twenty..."
"Twenty one-
BOOM!
As soon as Jie heard MK hitting the ground she turned around to write down the score of his duel with Monkey King, it was a clear lose since Wukong won nine- no wait... ten times!
It was only a second before Monkey King landed on the ground in...less hurtful way than his student.
"Jie! How long this time?" He came excited to Jie knowing the good news he was about to hear
"Twenty one" answered Jie "A whole 3 seconds more than last time" her sarcastic smile didn't destroy Wukong's good mood
"Better! So much better!" He went to MK in order to praise him
At that moment Jie stopped looking at them. Instead she focused on the Mirror blade in it's scabbard laying on the rock next to her.
She took it and sat down on the floor. From the time she got it back she liked to feel it's weight in her hands, it was somehow relaxing. But she wasn't ready to open it, not yet...
"Now..."suddenly she noticed Wukong approaching her "Me and Jie will show you what the real focus is!"
Huh?
"I don't remember agreeing to that"she glanced at her master
" Don't be like that, it's... for educational purpose!" Wukong tried to make her agree
Sigh
"Ok"Jie stood up, but no one missed the fact that she still had Mirror blade in her hand
"WAIT!"suddenly MK stood between them "Is it what I think it is!? Finally I'm getting to see the epic; fox vs monkey, servant vs master, Jie vs Sun Wukong fight?!
Instead of answering Jie showed her battle-ready pose, after jumping back Wukong did the same.
MK took a seat and started filming (for Mei).
It took a while until Jie finally said- "Please... make your move first, master"
"Hah... very well" Monkey King smirked And jumped into the air
He made a few backflips in the sky and was getting his fist ready for an attack. Jie of course noticed it and was getting ready to block it, a red stripes showed on her face, her hand held the weapon tighter and her legs moved to make her pose more steady and when Wukong was about to attack she... moved aside?!
The way she made it so unexpectedly made Wukong so surprised he didn't get to react and fall flat on the ground.
For a while there was a silent for everyone to help them process what just happened, only now MK realised that the fight was over.
"Guys... I might have spaced out for a bit because I have no idea what's going on here" He said
"Same here buddy, same here..."Wukong muttered to him standing from the ground
As he was trying to get dust off of his clothes Jie muttered something
"...It's not answering.."
Hm?
"The mirror blade... It's not getting out!" She said while showing how she was trying to get the weapon out of the scabbard effortlessly
"Tsk... You know Jie.." Monkey King took the weapon from her "If you're really that scared then just addmi-
He stopped talking after he also failed to get it out
After that he was fighting with scabbard in many ways but still failed to even loosen it.
"Why isn't it working? Is it rusty? GASP! Maybe Iron Fan used some spell!"MK started talking some nonsense
"It's not that there is a problem with blade... It's because of me" Jie announced calmly while getting the weapon back in her hands "The mirror blade doesn't simply choose it's owner, it has rules..."
"Rules?" This time the one to ask was Wukong
" Yes... the user needs to follow three rules: energy control, peace of mind and the goal. Since many things happened to me all this time when the blade was out of my reach I failed to follow it's rules...
"But... you'll be able to use the blade again, right?" MK looked at her
"I... don't know"
Tumblr media
"Master I need your help!" Jie announced as quickly as MK went back to work
" In what?" Wukong looked at her with confusion
"The reason why I can't use the mirror blade is because of your energy that I have as a result of our contact but because of how chaotic it is I can't control it at all!" She explained
"So... You want me to... teach you?
"I guess there's no other way-
"AWESOME!" He smiled " Now I have two students"
"...If that's how you prefer to call it" she muttered to him "So, what's your secret master?!"
Monkey King crossed his arms and thought for a while
"If I was to be honest... I have no idea!" He laughed
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" Jie shouted but then realised that she shouldn't rise her voice at him "ahem... I mean, is there really no... rule, theory or... anything?
"Nope!-I'm just letting it go and do what it likes!"
"It sounds...awful" Jie didn't even hold back before saying that
"Well how about just trying to learn to use it?"
"I'll.. might give it a shot, I need to get a hold of it somehow, right?
Tumblr media
"I can't use it!"
Jie came before Wukong after an hour all tired and exhausted.
"Yeah... looking at you I can guess it's not that easy, well it's my energy after all!"He admitted proudly
"Yeah and because of how chaotic and impulsive it is I can't control it at all!"
"I told you already" he came closer to her"Instead...-
FWIP!
"Let it control you!"
Jie was surprised as she merely avoided Wukong's fist aimed for her head, not long after that followed a kick.
She didn't get if her master was helping her, or getting revenge for before
"Wait!" She shouted before avoiding the next punch"What am I supposed to do?!"
"Stop thinking!" Monkey King explained, but didn't stop attacking her "stop analysing every move, give the control to your body not brain!"
"Then give me a chance"
"HAHAHAHA, nope!"
A next attack followed by a kick and his whip-like tail. Jie felt exhausted from avoiding them but knew accepting them won't end well either.
And at the end, when she was near her limit, the attack from before returned, Wukong was back in the air getting his fist ready, there was a chance for Jie to teleport quickly...
But then... something very strange happened
Jie took out the weapon, and with scabbard on she... blocked it!
It took a while until she realised what just happened, when she turned her gaze towards Wukong he just smiled proudly " That's how you fight in the monkie king style!"
Jie couldn't hold her smile as she noticed a golden symbol shining on the scabbard of the mirror blade.
"It actually worked!"
"Congratulations, you passed the first lesson, which leaves two" Monkie King praised her allowing himself to pat her head a little
" Yeah two..." Jie's mood started to drop down
"Hey, you know... I just ordered a few noodles to celebrate, mind keeping me a company?''
After a while a bright smile returned to the demoness face, she nodded her head and put the blade aside...
'Only two rules left...'

Restless Rewatch: The Untamed, Episode 26, part two
(Masterpost) (Other Canary Stuff)
Warning! Spoilers for All 50 Episodes!
Tumblr media
Content note: This episode has a lot of lightning, but this post does not have lightning flashes--I’m using mostly stills for those parts, or I’ve snipped out the unfriendly frames before giffing.
Qing-Jie
Having successfully ruined Jin Guangshan’s party plan to get the Yin Tiger seal, Wei Wuxian dashes off to tell Wen Qing where her brother is. She hops up to hit the road with him, but then sorta-faints because she’s starving. In a rare moment of tenderness between these two, he catches her and gently sits her down again.
Tumblr media
Normally they’re busy out-toughing each other, both before and after this moment, but right now Wen Qing is openly vulnerable. Wei Wuxian responds to that, predictably, with all of his kindness and with his usual slew of unwise, impossible-to-keep promises.
Tumblr media
As she eats the bread he’s brought her--a parallel to an important piece of bread in his early life--he says they have to believe in Wen Ning’s survival. Cut to: Wen Ning, not surviving.
Tumblr media
I mean, yes, yes, he’s only mostly dead, but he’s never going to be fully alive again, so.
24 Hour Party People
Back at the party, Jin Guangyao, deliberately, I think, goes to offer his pops a drink while his pops is still super furious and looking for someone to take it out on. The servant lady is like, better you than me, pal, and helps JGY get his drink ready. Pops, predictably, knocks the drink onto Jin Guangyao.
Tumblr media
(more behind the cut)
Lan Xichen is standing by with a hanky and a face full of worry. Lan Xichen is so Lanny that he thinks JGY needs to go change clothes after getting clear alcohol spilled on him, rather than just letting it evaporate and smelling pleasantly of booze for the rest of the evening like a normal party guest.
Tumblr media
JGY launches into a criticism of Wei Wuxian, which Lan Wangji listens to very carefully, frowning. Lan Xichen, Nie Huasang and Jiang Cheng listen as well, and don’t speak up.
Tumblr media
A Clear Conscience
Then Lan Wangji *literally* steps out of his brother’s shadow, and speaks in defense of Wei Wuxian. This right here is Lan Wangji’s turning point, as far as I’m concerned. Xichen is gazing at JGY, totally on board with JGY’s spin of the situation, and his shadow falls away from Lan Wangji’s face as LWJ steps forward.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji says, isn’t what WWX said true? JGY puts on his customer service smile and says that the truth isn’t something you’re supposed to go around saying out loud.
Tumblr media
I’d like to say this is what’s wrong with cultivator society but this is really a universal human thing; every society has rules about upsetting the social order, and they are very frequently at odds with basic compassion and morality.
Nie Huaisang and Jiang Cheng stay silent but Lan Xichen goes and throws Wei Wuxian under the bus carriage, saying his character has changed.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji nods decisively at this, and bows to Lan Xichen, silently asking permission to follow Wei Wuxian. Lan Xichen grants permission, telling Lan Wangji to do his best. Lan Xichen probably thinks he and Lan Wangji are in agreement, in this moment, but that nod of Lan Wangji’s was nothing of the kind.
Tumblr media
That nod was Lan Wangji agreeing with himself; he is going to try to bring Wei Wuxian back but he is also going to listen to him.  Meanwhile Lan Xichen is tying himself in knots to appease Jin Guangyao. The divergence between the brothers will just grow, from this point onwards.
Lan Wangji leaves to go follow his boyfriend conscience, while Jiang Cheng continues to silently listen to the commentary of others, and gets so mad he crushes a wine cup.
Tumblr media
It Was A Dark and Stormy Night.
Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian arrive at the prison camp, and the first person they encounter is Granny, with a defaced Wen Banner in her hand and Wen Yuan on her back.
Tumblr media
Whenever I read a meta or a fic that talks about how the juniors are so sweet partly because they are “untouched by the war” I want to point to this moment. A-Yuan endures an absolute truckload of war trauma by the time he’s four years old, and while Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji both deserve a lot of credit for saving him at great risk to themselves, Granny and Uncle Four are the first heroes of A-Yuan’s story. His kind, mellow personality has a lot in common with theirs.
Tumblr media
This is followed by an eternity of Wen Qing running around asking if anyone’s seen her brother. Eventually Wei Wuxian gets tired of this and gathers the guards together, threatening them with Chenqing.
Tumblr media
He doesn’t need to play it; just holding it up has every Jin dude instantly kneeling and scared.
Tumblr media
The guards send him and Wen Qing go to a giant field of corpses, where Wen Qing runs around checking to see if any of them is her brother. Wei Wuxian starts off kind of detached and angry, but eventually snaps out of it, tucks away his flute and starts helping her to search.
Wen Qing finds Wen Ning, mostly-dead with a lure flag speared into his belly. Wei Wuxian grimly takes in the situation from across the field of corpses.
Tumblr media
When he arrives at Wen Qing’s side he sees this talisman in Wen Ning’s hand.
Tumblr media
This is the talisman that Wei Wuxian made for Wen Ning back in Gusu summer school, before the war. It’s the one that Wen Ning was wearing at his waist when they met up after the massacre of Lotus Pier. It’s supposed to literally protect Wen Ning from having his spiritual consciousness snatched, as well as being a symbol of Wei Wuxian’s sense of responsibility for, and affection for, Wen Ning.
Wei Wuxian, understandably, loses his shit at this point. Less understandably, he is about to decide that the best way to express his sorrow and rage is to re-animate the corpse of his friend, right in front of the corpse’s sister. Like, seriously, dude. Dude.
Ghost General
This super-questionable decision leads to one of the most badass sequences in the show, which is unfortunately chock full of lightning flashes, so not everyone can watch it. Wei Wuxian and his flute and swirls of resentful energy come marching out of the darkness of the corpse field, back to the guards.
Tumblr media
The guards have decided to slaughter all of the prisoners and then run away, which would be a good plan except they should really have skipped right to the running away part of things. When Wei Wuxian accuses them of killing the prisoner in the corpse field, they claim that the Wens have a habit of falling off of a hill and dying. Wei Wuxian can relate.
Tumblr media
At this point Wei Wuxian summons up Wen Ning 2.0, ultra badass edition, who comes flying through the air with his odd, straight-armed fighting stance and cool solid-black eyes and rock-and-roll hair.
Tumblr media
Soundtrack: *Four Sticks*
Wen Ning proceeds to whale on the guards and scare the shit out of his relatives.
Tumblr media
Then Wen Qing shows up and begs Wei Wuxian to stop. She explains that Wen Ning is only mostly dead. Like, if he was fully dead would she be okay with this?
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian tries to reel Wen Ning in and realizes that he is not actually in control of Wen Ning. Ok, see, right from the first day of Wen Ning 2.0, WWX is aware that his control is iffy. Why does he think he’s going to be able to control him later?
Tumblr media
Anyway, this is where we learn Wen Ning’s grown-up name is Wen Qionglin. Wei Wuxian yells this name, and Wen Ning looks up like a cat hearing the “food noise,” and then proceeds to get control of himself.
Tumblr media
This is such a nice symbolic moment, that will be replayed later in the temple, when Wen Ning saves Jin Ling from Baxia.
Wen Ning has a remote-code-execution OS vulnerability throughout the story; his soul is at risk of being stolen, and he is magically controlled by Wei Wuxian, Xue Yang, Su She, and Baxia.  Meanwhile Wen Qing, Wei Wuxian, and random kids on the street mostly treat him as a child, despite his clear adult capabilities. Wen Ning’s journey in The Untamed is at least partly about asserting his full adulthood, and his ability to overcome magical control is directly connected to that journey.
Tumblr media
After getting Wen Ning to chill, Wei Wuxian calls the floating resentful energy back into his own body, which looks about as comfortable as swallowing a burp.
On the plus side, apparently resentful energy keeps your hair dry even when it’s raining.
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian should take a page from the guards’ book and slaughter all the Jin witnesses to this situation, but he decides to be the better person and let them live. They go running off down the road, where they encounter Lan Wangji and give him the 411, saying that Wei Wuxian resurrected dead people.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Wei Wuxian collects Wen Qing--half-fainted, again, in an echo of the start of their journey--and collects the Dafan Mountain Wen group, who are hiding, wisely. When they see Wen Ning, Uncle Four and some others start to freak out, but Wei Wuxian tells them that fierce corpses are cool, and they all grab horses and mount up.
Where Are You Going?
Lan Wangji is waiting for them, nonconfrontationally indulging in some visual poetry while he waits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a show where every prop is exquisitely, carefully designed to enhance our understanding character, his Gusu-toned umbrella reveals surprising red and yellow threads woven in, right above his eye line as he looks at Wei Wuxian.
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian speaks first, saying “you came to stop me?” Lan Wangji doesn’t answer, but asks him where he’s going. Then Lan Wangji warns him that he’s about to abandon orthodoxy forever, if he follows through.
Wei Wuxian challenges this idea of orthodoxy, asking if Lan Wangji remembers the promise they made together, back in Gusu. It’s worth noting that they both appear to think of it as a co-promise, even though Lan Wangji didn’t speak aloud at the time.
Tumblr media
The conversation will continue in the next episode, because what’s better than a rainy romantic cliffhanger?

Did a candid conversation accidentally give away GGDD’s relationship?
This has come up multiple times and I’ve been trying to find good audio for it. The clip claims that GG and DD are in conversation with the Untamed producer when she asks, “You two have been together for a year now?” and GG says “Yes” before DD points out the camera.
Tumblr media
The audio is always muffled, or sometimes the video has music over top of it, so it’s difficult to verify what’s being said. However thanks to some kind Anons we have a fairly clear clip now, which can be found here.
I’ve heard many different takes on this conversation. Some fans feel strongly that she’s talking about the end of filming, others feel strongly she’s talking about how long they’ve been together. This debate has been going back and forth for as long as that clip has existed.
What is happening in the clip?
I ran the clip by two trusted BXG, @potteresque-ire and @knivescharade, and also got some feedback from others via my previous post.
@knivescharade had this to say:
the gist of it is, she says something like ”你们...一年了“ - directly translated, its "you two... one year already". in mandarin, it COULD mean 1) the two of you have been together for a year 2) the two of you... it's been a year, (how time flies).
and also, a sentence like that can be deliberately misleading in mandarin - you can MEAN to tell them, its been a  year, but there's an underlying implication of "you guys have been together for a year"
sometimes the videos themselves (like this one) are very hard to understand, because of the way its casually spoken. this is one of the most speculated one i think. even today there are still cpfs examining it. so... all i can say is, fangjie says, "you two... it's been a year."
yeah the reaction afterwards is the best part hahaha, thats why cpfs are sure that fangjie meant that they've been together for a year
the volume is soft, and a lot of it picked out by lip-reading, but WYB basically says something like 不如破罐子破摔吧 which means, why not just smash the (cracked) pot and be done with
the volume is truly very soft and till now i’m still not super sure about it, but i can vaguely hear it, which is likely because he knows there are cameras on them, but given what just happened, contextually it seems like they noticed that the cameras caught what fangjie said, and wondered if they should just give up the game (rainbowsky note: basically jokingly saying, “we might as well just out ourselves now and have done with it”).
@potteresque-ire had a different take on it:
I'm not sure about the subtitles. Fang Jie did ask something one year, but it sounded more like "the filming was done one year ago" for me. And I just read c-turtles hearing the same thing as I did. So I'm not the (only) one who's unsure about this.
Gg's answer also isn't very clear. He might have asked "It's been a year already?" ... but his gesture didn't match that of someone who had just been asked a sensitive question.
The timing of Fang Jie's question is also ... suspicious. Given the sensitive / personal nature of the question, it would be impolite to ask that right after saying hello.
@theji said in their reblog of my previous post:
I listened to this clip many times when I first saw it. Indeed the question can be taken to mean different things. The lady said something like ‘you guys have already…one year right?’. Either the audio was cut off or that’s what she actually said cos people don’t always speak in full sentences in casual conversations. It could refer to their relationship or perhaps she meant finished filming CQL. Up to individual interpretation.
I agree GG looking flustered and immediately being on guard when he realised they were being filmed was a bit 👀. But perhaps he was just surprised cos he thought filming has ended. Or maybe he misinterpreted the lady’s question (like she was asking about work but he thinks she’s asking about their relationship), hence that reaction. It’s not the first time that happened anyway, I recall there was an interview that GG got all flustered when asked about wearing pants wrongly. DD had to tell him the interviewer meant wearing it back to front (and not them wearing each other’s pants by accident, which was what BXGs speculated GG had in mind).
DD’s reaction too. First he said '装’ (pretend). I liken it to one of the interviews where he said GG always pretends in front of the camera. So he could be being a gremlim and just teasing GG for his reaction. The second part when DD allegedly said 破罐子破摔, that I’m not too sure. I really couldn’t hear it properly and I can’t lip read well. In any case, just to explain the meaning of the phrase, it literally translates to 'further smash an already damaged jar’. The meaning is like if something is already flawed or if a mistake has been made, to just go with the flow and not rectify anything. So in the BJYXSZD context, DD could be (again jokingly) saying that since the 'confession’ was already caught on camera, why not just admit to it?’. Notice that GG ignored him.
My thoughts on it
I have always been skeptical of this clip just based on my own observation of the interaction, without being able to understand what was being said.
On the face of it, it seems weird to me that someone would come up to a closeted couple in a room full of people and say, “Hey, so you’ve been together for a year already! How time flies!” And it seems odd that someone as high strung as GG is when it comes to topics like that would just blithely say, “A year already?” and not show any discomfort or paranoia until it’s pointed out that there are cameras present.
As for the startled reaction when GG sees the camera, I think it’s not at all unusual to feel startled when you’re having a candid conversation - even a completely innocent one - and then suddenly realize someone was filming you the whole time. Particularly if you are a star and are always trying to be conscious of the type of impression you are giving on camera.
It’s possible that response was also in part due to having been distracted from the purpose of the event, like, “OH, that’s right, we’re supposed to be doing this press event and here I am chatting with someone as though I’m standing at the bus stop!! Oops!”
Another theory
Having said all of that, I trust BXG who insist that there’s more to the interaction. I think @knivescharade made a particularly good point, that people often say things with double meanings when they are trying to speak covertly.
I think it’s entirely possible that GG thought they were talking about filming and DD thought they were talking about the relationship. It wouldn’t be the first time they heard different things and reacted accordingly.
If GG thought Fang jie was asking about filming and DD thought she was asking about their relationship, that would explain everything for me.
If GG thought it was an innocent conversation yet was still quite startled when the cameras were pointed out, it’s possible he was doing as I mentioned previously - just reacting how almost anyone would who suddenly realized they were being filmed. But there’s another possibility.
It could be that GG was responding more to DD’s tone in warning of the cameras than the actual situation. If DD’s tone was one of warning, that would be enough to make GG startle and do a double-take and wonder if he’d said anything inappropriate. GG and DD are very attuned to each other and communicate a lot to each other with few words.
If DD thought they were talking about the relationship, his tone in warning GG of the cameras would likely communicate a lot more than just “There are cameras,” but could easily communicate, “Why are you speaking openly about us when there are cameras?” If you look at GG’s reaction from that perspective, his reaction fits.
When DD mentions ‘pretending’, it could be in reference to their relationship being a romantic one rather than just friendship, or it could be in reference to how long they’ve been together (maybe longer than a year), or it could be teasing GG, there are many possible interpretations.
To me, the strongest evidence that the moment might have been about GGDD’s relationship and not about filming is actually the whole, ‘broken pot’ thing some people claim DD said later. I can’t think of a sensible explanation for why he’d say that unless he was joking to GG about coming out.
So perhaps DD thought the exchange was about the relationship, and that’s why everything took the turn it did when DD pointed out the cameras and then later joked about the cracked pot.
Verdict: Inconclusive
I think we can safely conclude that there is no way to know for sure what’s happening here. The clip is really open to interpretation. Everyone should just enjoy it in whatever way makes sense for them.
For my part, I’m going to stick with the ‘GG heard one thing, DD heard another’ theory because it’s something I’ve seen them do before, and it fully explains why the exchange is interpreted differently by different people and why it appears both interpretations are credible.
Update From @theji
Based on a clip with clearer audio, and a newly posted YouTube clip.
In all the clips that I've ever watched, Fang-jie still says "You two have already...one year." She definitely did not say anything explicitly about them ''being together". Although like in your previous post, this part is up to individual interpretation and the ''together'' part could be implied.
So if Fang-jie knows about them, and they know that Fang-jie knows, then the way she phrased her question could then really be referring to the relationship without spelling out everything. I've seen some other narrative saying GG responded with a ''yes, one year already" or something to that effect. I have not seen any evidence of this part, and definitely not in these 2 clips.
Something in the youtube clip that I disagree with. After Fangjie's qn, GG turned over and said "这这.." (or sth like this, which could mean "this this" or ''here here"). I don't agree that GG was trying to change the topic out of embarrassment; rather I think he was responding to someone at the back, maybe a staff asked him sth. GG is a polite man, even if he was embarrassed and trying to change the topic, I don't think it's like him to turn away from Fang-jie while talking to her cos that's just rude. He could have spoken to her face about the new topic. Also, DD turned back around the same time so I believe someone was talking behind them.
Also, GGDD only began to look flustered/embarrassed after that part when they somehow realised that the camera was there. If GG didn't know they were filming before, why the need to change the topic? Also, when DD said 'wow, pretend', he might not be reminding GG to pretend  as the video suggested. Again, this part is up to interpretation but I still think it might be him poking fun at GG for his attempt to play it cool.
One thing that made me more suspicious now, which I didn't notice before was DD fake laughter after the ''pretend". GG also had the awkward laugh but it's not unusual, we've heard him laugh this way before but honest, straightforward DD doing a fake laugh? Coupled with the awkward expression, I think he did feel a bit awkward at that moment, like ''oops did we just...hurhur'"
Again, I can't be sure about the cracked pot part because I can't hear anything but looking at the bilibili video and if I imagine hard enough, the lip reading might really be that. I think I can make out 2 words that fits the phrase but I can't verify it. But the suspicious thing is, DD  said out loud "since it's like that" but the cracked pot part he deliberately lowered the volume or simply mouthed the words. Also, when he said that, he was actually not looking at GG (vs when he said "pretend'') and I don't think GG was even looking at him. So perhaps he meant for that phrase to be hidden/not discovered, in his gremlin style. So I don't think he was telling GG to ''go with the flow'', even if that was what he was thinking. Probably at that moment, both of them were like ''oh, pretend nothing happened...''
Compared to the last time, my belief that this moment was about their relationship strengthened a little, maybe 75%?  But after watching both clips multiple times, my verdict remains the same as before, that it's suspicious but ultimately inconclusive.
What about the theory that one of them understood it one way and one the other way, which I discussed in my post? Do you think that's a possibility?
I think it's a possibility but I'm inclined towards GG being the one who thinks the qn was about the relationship while DD interpreted it as about work, cos while they both looked a little flustered initially, GG appears to have a bigger reaction. GG seems to me like the kind who would let his 'guilty conscience' get the better of him and end up exposing some things, whereas DD can hold it in better. But bcos they are so attuned to each other, DD gathered very quickly (based on GG's reaction/ the looks they exchanged) what he and GG interpreted was different. Hence the 'pretend' and fake laughter, meant to poke fun at GG a little and maybe to settle GG's nerves a little via small jokes?
The cracked pot thing is a moot point cos I'm not even sure it is valid but assuming it is, then I think it's also DD's way of trolling/poking fun at the situation/GG to diffuse the tension. Since he didn’t seem to be looking at GG when he said that, my assumption would be that he deliberately lowered his volume such that only GG could hear him. It's meant to tease. But GG ignored him, he's probably freaking out a little internally.
2019's GG hasn't evolved to become the confident and bold Boss Xiao of today so I think these things, like mistakes, missteps etc, bother him more so he overreacts more. DD has always been more confident or rather, doesn't let his insecurities show so even if he felt a bit awkward or if there was a 'shit, what just happened' moment, he'll be able to work it off quickly. Cos in reality nothing incriminating was being said and nobody admitted anything.
Which could also explain why he said the cracked pot thing.  "Just pretend nth happened, they don't have anything on us anyway..." which also reminded me of this thing that cbxg use to describe DD whenever he does/say something embarrassing but doesn't express any emotions or reactions outwardly. "So long as I'm not embarrassed, the embarrassed one would be you." (Basically thick skinned). The logic here is similar to the cracked pot thinking.
Although I do feel that there is another layer that hasn't been fully explored.
I suspect they were together before The Untamed, and possibly even before the first DDU episode they did together in 2017. It makes me skeptical of the idea that they might be responding to the comment that they had been together for a year.
It is possible that is another aspect of the whole issue for them, trying to maintain the facade of having only been together for a short time. That could be what 'pretending' was all about.
But we will never know, so everyone is free to CPN to their hearts content.
Verdict remains inconclusive.

Happy Prompt (if you feel like it): WWX being the genius/ex first disciple of great scet that he is realizes they can't sustain the Burial Mounds. So he comes up with a Plan to make them all dissappear. Knowing how important lineage is so them, he asks them to give up the Wen name and take up Wei. (The wens are mostly common folk who just want to live so they agree). He the proceeds to hide them among other clans. People who have met and remember all the good young master Wie always did. He hides them among the Jiang and Nie. (I always head cannon that part of WWX'S flirty reputation comes from him helping women who are in bad situations/ NHS somehow finds out/knows and begins to help him. I figure theyhad to get several Lan women out. Mama Lans ghost helps?). JC knows but ignores it, they aren't WENS anymore, so his pride can leave it be. I'm not sure if A'yuan would still end up with Lan Zhan? But then WWX, WN, and WQ all fake thier deaths and go travel as rogue cultivators. But now WWX has all these living and dead people praying to/for him as the patron Saint of lost causes? And he accidentally becomes an immortal without realizing it? To the absolute fond disgust of WQ, of course. Anyway, I figure old Jin perv still pulls his bullshit at a discussion conference and between NHS, JYL, and LWJ? They somehow clear everyone's nsme. And then newly immortal WWX rocks up in there (to the horror of the Lan Elders who now have to face thier own bullshit/ hypocrisy) and lives happily ever after.
I think I read a prompt or a fic somewhere with the concept of the Wens hiding in plain sight.
________________________
The thought came to him out of nowhere.
It had been a peaceful day with the Wens as he farmed, invented and tinkered with various incomplete contraptions when Wei Wuxian was struck with a thought: they could not continue like this.
Wei Wuxian wasn’t an idiot. He knew that they couldn’t sustain themselves in the Burial Mounds. Their crops hardly prospered, one by one the more elderly individuals of the Wens got sick and died, the resentful energy messed with everyone’s temperament, the cultivators never stopped trying to break his wards.....the list went on and on.
He had to come up with a plan. He thought they could live here for a time, but that was just wishful thinking.
With this in mind, he takes the next few days to come up with a concrete plan.
...............................
The first task, and perhaps the most important one, is to ask the Wens to give up the Wen name. It would be easier from then on.
As he presented this suggestion, he was surprised by how readily they agreed. He knew how important lineage was to them, so the rapidness of them giving up their name was shocking.
“Would you......take up my name?” Wei Wuxian asked quietly.
The Wens were silent before cheering. Wei Wuxian didn’t know how to react to this. The Wens told him that they were more than happy to accept his name since they were his family.
Wei Wuxian held back the tears and laughed happily instead as he went on to tell him the next plan of action: hiding them in plan sight.
Various people from various clans owed him favors and remembered the good in him, as they were more than happy to take on the refugees he hid away now that they were no longer Wens.
They had to do this quietly and slowly though. It would be suspicious if a large group of people suddenly left Yiling all at once. So Wei Wuxian took each of them to different places. Some of them went back to their original homes, some went to the Nie, some to the Yao, some to the Ouyang clan.
He even sends some to the small village of women who he helped run away from their horrible home situations.
It was a little tricky with Nie, but Nie Huaisang pulls through and Nie Mingjue suspects nothing.
He sends some to the Jiang and Jiang Cheng grudgingly accepts them, knowing that they are no longer Wen.
And for A’ Yuan.......He sends A’ Yuan to Lan Zhan, who is familiar with A’ Yuan. Wei Wuxian sends a letter to Lan Zhan asking him to meet and instead of appearing, A’ Yuan is there in his stead. The letter to Lan Zhan details what to do with A’ Yuan and to hide his identity.
Wei Wuxian trusts that Lan Zhan would take his suggestion and tell his brother and uncle that A’ Yuan was a child that Lan Zhan was asked to take care of by a dying mother.
Wei Wuxian watches from afar as Lan Zhan takes A’ Yuan away and takes the last step in ensuring that the cultivation world forgets him: He fakes his, Wen Qing’s and Wen Ning’s deaths. There’s enough corpses in the Burial Mounds and ones with their physique to replace the Wens and him. He gossips to the town that he’s going to destroy his weapon, the Seal, and subsequently fakes an explosion of resentment, quickly disappearing with the Wen siblings to a random direction.
He always thought how nice it would be to be like his parents and be rogue cultivators. He guesses that he’ll find out now.
..................................
Years pass and Wei Wuxian makes decent salary by taking care of monsters in the area. Wen Qing is a doctor, of course, and Wen Ning becomes her assistant.
They move to a little village near Dongying and settle down there. The people there a little more open to demonic cultivation and dark arts and don’t bat an eye at Wei Wuxian using such means.
Wei Wuxian invents more contraptions, selling them under a false name in towns far away from Dongying.
One day, on a chance night hunt near Yunmeng, Wei Wuxian hears whispers and gossip about Nie Huaisang, Lan Wangji and Jiang Yanli clearing his name and capturing the actual people responsible.
He’s happy to hear this. Overjoyed. But that doesn’t mean he’ll gladly return to the cultivation world. He’s had enough of that life.
He walks around town for a bit longer, catching bits of gossip here and there. As explores the town, wine jug in hand, he nearly chokes around a mouthful of wine as he sees a small shrine encasing a statue of his likeness. What.....the hell??
He quickly asks around and finds out that people are praying to him for protection. Wei Wuxian squirms a little at this, glad he’s wearing a weimao to cover his face.
All of this...praying makes him uncomfortable. Not long ago, people were spitting on his name and now he’s suddenly become some sort of Patron for protection? The change is remarkable and cements Wei Wuxian’s decision to firmly stay out of the cultivation world.
People’s opinions change like a tide and Wei Wuxian doesn’t want to stick around long enough for them to switch back. He sighs, disposing of his empty jug, and leaves the town.
.......
Surprisingly, that’s not the end of the changes.
He got careless on a night hunt and ends up with the claw of a yaoguai piercing him all the way through his stomach. When the yaoguai pulled out its claw, though......Wei Wuxian healed quickly. Too quickly.
He recovers from the shock at this and finishes off the yao.
What just happened?
.
.
A quick trip to Wen Qing answered everything.
“Congratulations.” Wen Qing says dryly. “You’re an immortal.”
“........What.”
Wen Qing sighs, “From what you told me, you healed unnaturally quickly, right?”
Wei Wuxian nods.
“There have only been records of immortals recovering that quickly. Even Wen Ruohan healed slower than you did.”
“But I don’t have a core???”
“You do. Sort of.” Wen Qing replies. “I’m actually surprised you haven’t you felt it.”
“.....” I mean, I did think it was odd that I didn’t freeze to death in the winter or die of hunger when money became tight over these years, but I thought those were side effects of demonic cultivation! Wei Wuxian quickly goes through the motions of feeling for his core, willing the surge of hope he felt down.
And he......didn’t feel a core. He felt more of a large mass of energy congregated in his dantian.
Wei Wuxian is glad that he is sitting down right now because he feels very faint.  “But.....this......how?”
“Hmm. Well, from what I’ve been hearing, you’ve become some sort of Patron Saint?” Wei Wuxian nods. “It’s rare, but cultivators can gain power from prayers. Take Wen Ruohan for example.”
“He became powerful through the same means?”
“Yes. Well, his people believed him to be all powerful, not so much as what people are praying to you. As the Sunshot alliance chipped down on his people, so too did they chip down on Wen Ruohan’s power.”
“So if people stop praying to me, I’ll stop being immortal.”
“Yes and no. Right now, there’s just a mass of energy concentrated there. It’s basically unrefined energy. All you have to do is refine that power into a core and cultivate normally. Otherwise, yes. You will lose this power as soon as people stop praying to you.”
“I see.......”
Wen Qing raises an eyebrow and brandishes her needles. “What are you doing just sitting here? Go and cultivate!”
“Aiya, Qing-jie! I’m in shock here, give me a moment to absorb this all!”
“I have patients to see! Get your ass to your room and cultivate!”
“Are you my mom or something?”
Wen Qing’s expression turns thunderous.
Wei Wuxian didn’t want to provoke her any further despite wanting to banter more and left to his room.
..................................
“You should visit your siblings.” Wen Qing says one day. “And Hanguang-Jun. I want to hear about how A’ Yuan is doing.”
“Where did this come from?”
“Wei Wuxian.” Wen Qing says patiently. “It’s been over a decade. Your name and our name has long since been cleared. People no longer hate you. And.....they miss you. Your siblings have commemorated the day you “died” and go into mourning for that day. Hanguang-Jun is a little subtler but he wears a mourning sash now.”
“They’ll be better off without me.”
“Says who?”
“The rest of the world.” Wei Wuxian says weakly.
“And why should you care for their opinion? You never seemed to mind it.”
“Ummm.....Lan Zhan hates me? Jiang Cheng might resent me? And Shij---Jiang-guniang---the Young Madam Jin has a life already.”
“First, if Hanguang-Jun hates you, why would he frequently glare at people who badmouthed you?”
“Because he’s a good person. How do you know this anyway?”
“I have friends. Try again. Hanguang-Jun is a famously reticent person. Would he do this for every person?”
“.........I don’t know.”
“The answer is no.”
Wei Wuxian pouts.
Wen Qing then begins to tell him how Jiang Cheng frequently takes demonic cultivators back with him in hopes that one of them would be Wei Wuxian and even added Wei Wuxian back to the Jiang sect register. Jiang Yanli smiles while ruthlessly talking people into apologizing every time she hears something bad said about Wei Wuxian.
She even lectures him on his feelings towards Lan Wangji, that he would entrust A’ Yuan to him.
Wen Qing closes off her speech with threats of her needles if Wei Wuxian doesn’t get his ass over there.
“There’s a Discussion Conference at Lotus Pier. Wei Wuxian, wait till they’re done and go meet them.”
Wei Wuxian, sufficiently threatened, hightails it back to what was his home.
.......
Wei Wuxian also decidedly forgets that he was supposed to wait for the Conference to end. Well, he had assumed that they would be done considering the empty state of the area in front of the conference room and stupidly bursts through the door to a room full of people.
Wei Wuxian blinks, “Uhh......”
“Wei Wuxian?!”
“Wei Ying?!”
“A’ Xian?!”
Wei Wuxian tittered from side to side, “Hello, all! I bet you thought I was dead! Well, you guessed wrong! Hahaha......”
..............................
Lan Wangji did not know what this time’s discussion conference would be like. He expected Jin Guangshan to try and subtly slander Wei Ying. He expected Jiang Yanli, Jiang Wanyin and himself to stand up for Wei Ying, as he was unable to do before Wei Ying died.
But he certainly didn’t expect Wei Ying, who he thought was dead, burst into the room.
Everyone was silent as soon as they heard Wei Ying speak, but soon burst into a cacophony of noise.
Continuing the Discussion Conference was futile after that and it was quickly closed. Lan Wangji watched Wei Ying be surrounded by many people, some crying, some happily angry, some exasperated and he couldn’t help his reaction after seeing him once again.
He rushes forward and hugs him.
“Wha--Lan Zhan?”
“You’re alive.” Lan Wangji breathes, voice full of wonder. “You’re alive.”
Wei Ying’s arms come up around him and Lan Wangji feels the strong heart beat through their robes. His elders yell at him for his shamelessness and he comes back to himself, embarrassed at his lack of control.
“Aww, Lan Zhan! I’m so glad you missed me!”
“Mn. Missed Wei Ying a lot.”
A slight blush rose to Wei Ying’s cheeks and he laughed, a little shy. Lan Wangji couldn’t help his response to hearing his laugh again after so, so long. He kissed him.
The crowd gasped around them and Lan Wangji pulled back quickly, wanting the ground to swallow him up. But then......Wei Ying kissed him back.
“Aiya, Lan Zhan. How bold of you! To steal a kiss from me in public!” He giggles, not seeming mad at all and even pressing forward, tangling his fingers in his forehead ribbon.
Lan Wangji’s breath stutters at the gesture.
“You’d better take responsibility!”
Is Wei Ying asking what I think he’s asking? “Responsibility?”
“Yes! You took a kiss from me in public! It looks like I can’t marry anymore.”
“Will marry Wei Ying.” Lan Wangji replies, voice hoarse, ignoring the cries of outrage from his elders, the angry shouts from Jiang Wanyin, and the smirks from Jiang Yanli and his brother. “Will take responsibility.”
“I hope that isn’t the only reason.”
This is his chance to come clean. Lan Wangji already told himself that he wouldn’t hold himself back if he met Wei Ying again. “Like Wei Ying. Love Wei Ying.”
Wei Ying laughs brightly. “I like Lan Zhan too. Now, you’ll finally admit we’re close?”
Lan Wangji ignores everyone, eyes only on Wei Ying as they should have always been, “Mn. Let’s get married.”

I feel like Lan Wangji may be a bit OOC......hmm. Well, whatever. I finally got this done and with that, I think I’ve cleared all the prompts I haven’t answered, so asks will open up again!
Hope you all enjoyed this!
