Eventually, Yue Qingyuan needs to leave a peak lord meeting early because of pain. Shen Jiu follows him out initially to mock him, but he hears the little gasp Yue Qingyuan makes when he lies down. Quietly, he passes qi into Yue Qingyuan’s back- not as good as a massage but it helps the pain.

Two days later he comes to Yue Qingyuan’s house. After a lot of dancing around each other, eventually Yue Qingyuan strips down. Shen Jiu, holding the oil, looking at Yue Qingyuan’s back, is shaking. He’s been here before with a very different man. He leaves without a word.
