Spoilers for the end of the novel under the cut....

It was a sad/ambiguous ending for the drama, however the continuation of the novel the boys get a happy ending. What basically happens is they both try to unsuccessfully forget about each other.  Months pass until Liang Ze one night gets really drunk at a party an admits to himself that the person he loves is a man, and then also starts to have wet dreams about Hang Hang. So with his psychological and physiological barrier of being with a man gone he rushes to Hang Hang and tells them they can be together now, However Hang Hang was hurt and doesn’t take him back straight away. But the novel ends with them as a couple and moving in with each other, minus all of Liang Ze’s eclectic decorations.
