I think that’s the thing, isn’t it? It’s proven once again that it is easier for people to sacrifice their own vulnerable neighbors or tell them they wish those neighbors didn’t exist at all because it is easier to allow a man that represents the worst of humanity to have ultimate power than tolerate an imperfect woman who they believe is not appealing to them specifically.

Reading utrh and GOD the way just the SUSPICION of Jason being red hood drove BATMAN who was in the height of another one of his “shutting everyone out cause I cannot handle another loss” phases after Stephs death, to drop EVERYTHING and seek out help from literally everyone he knows.

BATMAN going to ask help from his friends, just based on the FEELING that Red hood was familiar without any further confirmation. I mean Jason hasn’t even alluded to anything at this point, it was just the way he acted that sparked the gut destroying hope that maybe this time, maybe this one time Bruce could have someone back.

The hope was so all-consuming that he literally left Gotham quasi without a protector just to try to squash that stupid hope by convincing himself that what he’s yearning for isn’t possible, only to not get any solid answer from the literal gods and magicians he reached out to.

Like just how monumental is that. Just how much pain is this man in that just the slight inkling of recognition drove him to travel all around the world to ask for HELP, something that he only ever reluctantly does.

He doesn’t even know what he wants the answers to be, he doesn’t know if the crushed hope would destroy him more than its actualisation. The uncertainty is so much worse than both of these options, because if he doesn’t know what’s going on how is he supposed to prepare or protect?

It just makes me sick like the utrh movie did not show this and tbh I think it’s a missed opportunity.

Like GODD just the helplessness of uncertainty is torture in and of itself.

I remember seeing some people talk about what were the last two afghan jews back when there were still two in the country and how almost... silly and comical it was that they still couldn't get along with each other but like... Imagine being the only two people of a minority group in your entire country because everyone else ran away, were intimidated into fleeing, or were killed. Maybe I'm a killjoy, but I really never found it funny to think of them having petty disputes because, like, obviously people in high-stress situations are going to be more prone to argument and disliking each other. Obviously when your sacred texts are stolen, when your community is snatched away, when you aren't sure if you'll be taken prisoner for the last time and never return... Obviously you're not going to be primed to interact with others pleasantly.

Sukuna ate a burger and blamed it on Sukuna who another Sukuna believed was telling the truth, so he felt unsure around the other Sukuna’s presence.

So another time when the same thing happened again that Sukuna took no time at all to put it on the same Sukuna.

That Sukuna is sad, upset that the other Sukuna wouldn't believe him.

When there came a time where the Yuujis met, Sukuna wanted another Yuuji for himself, but Sukuna won't let him. Threatens to paint his guts to the walls and the ground red.

The Sukuna relented and pulled back, afraid. Then he left to sit on his own. Another Sukuna watches from the sideline, shaking his head from the scene.

Sukuna, realizes this then goes to talk to the Sukuna and starts to talk about how he doesn't hate him and even appreciates his company. He's different from other Sukunas, more innocent than others. He may be clumsy, but he's also trying his best and that's such a beautiful and heartwarming l thing.

Sukuna, surprised and even a bit touched, starts to blurt out what he thought the other Sukuna was great at and that he wanted to be like him. To be strong, to be able to protect his Yuuji as he does with his and when he's with him, he felt a blanket of safety around him even with his demonic aura.

The two said their pieces and sat there in a comfortable silence and after a moment the other Sukuna reached out his hand, a start to friendship.

The expression on the other Sukuna looks a bit torn and stricken with some kind of grief, but he continues to smile before grasping the waiting hand. Then there's a tug and he was pulled into a tight embrace. His eyes widened, unsure of what to do before he slowly started to wrap his hands around the other's back.

Then the other older Sukuna spoke.

“I hope we can be friends.”

theres definitely a moral element to severance surrounding severed identities and consequences which really popped out to me this episode. gemma didnt experience any of what her innies did. gemma still left the dentist touching her jaw in pain, still left allentown with pain in her hand. experiencing things directly doesnt impact that she still has to he the one handling the consequences (at least for now). she leaves and shes the one feeling the remenant pain, just with none of the understanding. the same as we saw with mark in s1 when he gets his head injury via stapler. the outie still holds that injury, but will never be able to fully trust knowing what happened
