theres definitely a moral element to severance surrounding severed identities and consequences which really popped out to me this episode. gemma didnt experience any of what her innies did. gemma still left the dentist touching her jaw in pain, still left allentown with pain in her hand. experiencing things directly doesnt impact that she still has to he the one handling the consequences (at least for now). she leaves and shes the one feeling the remenant pain, just with none of the understanding. the same as we saw with mark in s1 when he gets his head injury via stapler. the outie still holds that injury, but will never be able to fully trust knowing what happened
