Winter forecast for the US in the 2024-25 season (AccuWeather)

A combination of La Niña keeping the storm track over the northern part of the country most of the winter, above-average water temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico, and mild Pacific air occasionally flowing into the Plains and East will limit the potential for cold air to have a sustained presence across the southern U.S.

December is the first month of meteorological winter and will bring brief blasts of cold air that will trigger lake-effect snow. This is the opposite of last December when little lake effect was seen in the typical areas, including Buffalo, New York, Marquette, Michigan, Erie, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland. Snow is also possible this December in areas farther away from the lakes from typical early-season winter storms. Big changes will unfold during the opening weeks of 2025 as a new weather pattern will promote milder air and less snow across the eastern half of the nation.

since we're just a few days away from the new year, i'd like to reflect on 2024, this year has been a rollercoaster for me, i laughed a lot, cried a lot and above all learned a lot, so i'd want to answer one question from the prompts mentioned below each day, sort of as a tribute to the 2024 me, please look forward to it 🤍

During Trump's Term, General Mark Milley Personally Intervened To Prevent Trump Starting A War With China Or Using Nuclear Arms.

But if Trump is reelected, there will be no General Milley. Central to Project 2025 is to restaff the Federal government (those positions not eliminated entirely) with partisans loyal only to Trump, not the Constitution.

A second Trump presidency won't be like the first. There will be no "adult in the room"- they'll all be fired. There will only be yes men, egging on Trump's darkest impulses- or blundering into disaster through shear stupidity and incompetence.

"But how can he do that", you say?

Who's going to stop him? Congress? It can pass laws, but it has no independent means to enforce them, even if Republicans didn't end up holding it too. The Supreme Court? You mean the same Supreme Court who's 6/3 Republican majority voted to keep him on the ballot despite being an adjudicated insurrectionist, and to give him Presidential immunity for many of his crimes?

If Trump is reelected, he will be, as he promised, "a dictator on day one". There will be no one around him to stop him from doing whatever whim strikes his increasingly demented brain.

Studies have shown that a full-scale nuclear war would wipe out nearly all food production in the Northern Hemisphere (and do considerable damage elsewhere) due to the pollution temporarily blocking out the Sun (the so-called "nuclear winter"). Which means that a majority of the human race (those not killed outright in the initial detonation or within the early days from radiation poisoning) would likely die a slow, agonizing death of starvation.

This election isn't just about saving America. It's about saving the world. It is very possible, with zero hyperbole, that if Trump wins reelection, most of the people reading this will not live to see him leave office.

lewishamilton There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days. I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.

Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together.

Ci sono giorni che sai che ricorderai per sempre, e oggi, il mio primo da pilota della Ferrari, è uno di quei giorni. Ho avuto la fortuna di raggiungere traguardi nella mia carriera che non avrei mai pensato possibili, ma una parte di me ha sempre custodito il sogno di guidare in rosso. Non potrei essere più felice di realizzare quel sogno oggi.

Oggi iniziamo una nuova era nella storia di questa squadra leggendaria e non vedo l’ora di scoprire quale storia scriveremo insieme.
