The Prompt Foundry will be kicking off the new year with Genreuary: A Genre Exploration Extravaganza!

We all have our favorite genres and it's always fun to explore new ones! That's what Genreuary is all about—make something to celebrate your favorite examples of some classic genres, try your hand at creating original work of your own in genres you've never played in before, or run with the excuse to stick your blorbos in some genre-swap AUs!

Feel free to combine different days' prompts with each other, or combine them with other events! Use your favorite characters from media, make some OCs, give us some academic analysis, make art that's all vibes, whatever tickles your fancy.

Americans, if your family gets together for Thanksgiving, this is the one!

If you hate getting together with your family.

If you hate Thanksgiving.

If you hate that you know people in your family voted for Trump or didn't vote for Harris.

AND

You are financially independent.

You have a place to live on your own or with supportive affirming people.

You do not work with family or friends of family.

You are a legal adult.

You have your own transportation.

Then this is the Thanksgiving to start some shit! BRING UP POLITICS! BRING UP RELIGION! COME OUT TO WHOEVER DOESNT KNOW! TELL ALL OF THE DIRTY FAMILY SECRETS YOU KNOW!

Because, this is the time to separate yourself from dangerous people. It is very possible that very, very bad things will start happening in January 2025. There will be reasons that you won't want anyone to know your number or address. There may be reasons for you to become suspicious of people, even people you have known for years.

The best way to break contact now is for them to NOT WANT to contact you again, at least right away. You can block them and not answer your door to them if they try to reestablish contact. Keep them out of your life and out of your business.

Maybe you don't think you are ready for the nuclear option. That's fine, I can't tell you what to do, but you have a bit of time, think about it.

I don't want to confuse real life with fiction, but when you watch/read The Handmaid's Tale, you see how things can change within hours, not days.
