what if, at some point in the show, Wilson is secretly prescribed Vicodin after a minor surgery. Ofc he’s too embarrassed to tell House and doesn’t want to deal with the inevitable lecture. But, House figures it out the second Wilson walks into his office. "You’re limping like a 90-year-old and suddenly not wincing at my Vicodin jokes. What’s next? Gonna start stealing my cane?" Wilson doesn’t deny it, but House respects the secrecy and says nothing more, though he casually steals Wilson's prescription a week later.

It's so interesting how submissive House is to Wilson. In basically every scene where Wilson gives his 2 cents about a case, House without fail (for the most part) follows his opinion. Wilson gives him unsolicited advice and half the time he listens without saying anything, and the other half he argues but ends up listening to him anyway. House starts psychoanalysing Wilson and Wilson does it right back to him and House shuts the fuck up or gives a one line quip back at him (to have the last line) but knows deep down Wilson is right.

For a man of House's stature and how he interacts with Literally Everyone Else, the writers really hammer it into your soul that House only really listens to Wilson and no one else

House MD will spend an entire season glorifying medical malpractice, inventing new ways to be racist ableist and misogynistic, queerbaiting both within and without the narrative, etc. but the final few episodes will be the most fucked up, psychological, 4D chess introspectives you’ve ever seen that will make you reevaluate your life and the power of metaphor. Good fucking god.

ahsjkshejsbr wanted to watch some house while getting ready to out and tell me why i just watched the most romantic thing i’ve ever seen on television like wow that’s true love right there for sure. also the writers have just fully stopped being subtle about it lmao like the jokes have always been there but this is a new level like “if you’re gonna confess you’ve always been gay for me, everyone has always assumed” wtf was that?!

you think houses neighbors think he's a pimp... he's a disabled old man, who they've probably never talked too, who leaves his house everyday (comes home at god knows what time), and owns both a convertible AND a motor bike. AND NOW he's got some doctor showing up every day and not leaving till morning...

we spend the entire show watching house do anything to treat his pain — he goes to (understandably) insane, destructive lengths just to ensure he never has to suffer being sober. his entire life is focused around a cycle of distraction, thrill-seeking, and avoidance. we know that his home is filled with hundreds upon hundreds of pills, so he can always prolong and maximise those moments where his agony is muffled. and yet, in the final scene, we see him dive head-on into the end, and despite this being the most gruelling, insurmountable prognosis of his entire life, we see him smile bathed in the sunlight; those muted tones are dauntingly lifted, yet there’s no echo of a bottle rattling.

5x23-5x24 House MD

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT

So ok, my understanding was that everything after House walking into Cuddy's office the first time while trying to tell her he's quitting was just a vicodin induced dream. Amber never really left, Cuddy never slept with him and helped him detox, Cameron never told Chase about the sperm.

Kutner shows up because again their case was in tandem with everyone else's personal lives and their case was about identity and given that House's subconscious most likely made up this whole episode it showed us that his own misgivings with his understanding of his own "split" brain. And then all of this topped off by how the lipstick was a metaphor and so was Cuddy for his love for vicodin, well not his love but rather his addiction.

And then topping all of it off, just as a side note, the parralell of Cameron and Chase's wedding being side by side parraelled with House walking away and into a new life away from Wilson, and away from his own obsession. While Chase and Cameron walk into their new life aswell but similarly to House and Wilson one of them is still holding onto a memory/obsession/addiction of their past, while their counter part is hoping that they will eventually let that go.
