the big eyed freaked out look house does during so many of his and wilson's interactions in the final episodes actually kills me. he is losing HIS PERSON ☹️☹️☹️

House was the only one in the show to not get a happy ending, and that will eat me up inside until the day I die

• Thirteen's traveling the world with her girlfriend

• Cameron has a husband and a kid

• Foreman is running the hospital

• Chase now is in charge of the diagnostics department

• Taub has seemingly sort of made up with his wife and is caring for his daughters

• Wilson only has 5 months left to live; but he's spending it with his best friend and gets to fulfill anything he's ever wanted to do.

The entire show revolves around everyone around House, wanting him to change and get better. Eventually, it comes to House wanting that, too. And he does change, and he does get better to an extent. But he can never truly be happy, and I think his ending really showed that. He got the best ending he could possibly get: being him.

It just accentuates that even when everything was on the line, he couldn't live up to those expectations, and he couldn't really change. But he changed enough, and he was the happiest he could be.
