Thinking thoughts and instead of Nico going down to Tartarus to save Bob, what about Ahklys coming up from Tartarus to kidnap him because his misery is so tasty, so she just wants to keep him for herself forever.
Either the two of them team up on their own, or Will recruits Hazel (underworld home field advantage) and Percy (has been through Tartarus) to come get his boyfriend, and when they finally track Nico down, he's just completely drowning in misery. He wallows in pain and suffering, unloved, unwanted, trapped in a never-ending cycle of choking on his own sour tears, depression, and violent self-loathing.
Hazel slowly coaxes him back to himself as they head back to the surface (technically the Underworld, but it's the surface of Tartarus, so). She assures him that he is loved, he is wanted, that's why they're there, that's why they came for him. She loves him, please, please, Nico, just get up, come with us, stop fighting, stop running. And off to the side Percy is beating the shit out of Ahklys because Annabeth isn't there to hold him back and he swore to protect Nico a million moons ago and fuck this goddess if she thinks he's gonna renege on that now. Like how dare she do this to him, force him though the place he was caught and tortured him, force him to suffer again and again when he was finally learning to be happy.
They both do their best to fight off monsters and Ahklys and Nico's vicious misery to drag him back to the safe spot where they can climb out of hell with him on their backs because no way are they ever leaving him behind.
#percy jackson#hazel levesque#nico di angelo#blonde boy isnt helpful because i dont like him. and if anything it makes Nico realize how superficial their relationship is after a year#hazel is the one promising Nico that his darkness isnt scary and percy is the one agreeing and pumping him up#because shadow travel is super cool and so is summoning zombies. and then there's will who doesnt like those things about nico#and suddenly the bubble obstructing him from everything just pops.#happy talks pjo

Everybody NEEDS to listen to the new Wild Life retrospective on Imp and Skizz's podcast. They got Grian called in and they give so many cool insights into the series (and honestly say so many things I think people need to hear)
Highlights for me:
Grian designed each wild card to be weaponized and wanted everyone to take advantage of them. He goes over each individually and all the thought he put into them and all the work the backend team put into their execution. He's rightfully really proud of them. Him gushing about Trivia Bot and how excited he was to show his friends the "coolest snail ever" is particularly sweet.
Skizz says discovering each wild card was a LOT of fun. He says something like "I can't believe as an adult I get to have so much fun." Impulse is really impressed with the execution of each, citing stuff like making it rain when the time one activated and the passive mobs spawning in before being replaced, and how the little details like that built excitement and tension.
Grian says how he understands that some viewers maybe just want more seasons of the essentially the same series, ie six seasons of just Third Life, but it's more important to him that the Lifers get to experience something new and fresh. He also doesn't like comparing each series, preferring to consider each one as its own thing.
Impulse can't wait to do another Life series, Skizz is equally excited but tries to hold discussion about it back since he doesn't want anyone pressuring Grian, who is palpably burned out. Like, you can hear how tired this man is. Grian says there will probably be more series since everyone is still enjoying it, but he's not trying to outdo himself and not to expect him to keep escalating.
Skizz always tries to do something new each season yet feels like he always falls back into the same habits and dynamics, but not this time: he feels like he got to explore a new dynamic with the Spanners and had a blast doing it. He and Grian gush about how much fun they had with their "big brother trying to keep his little brothers alive" routine.
They have a grand time making fun of Impulse and his "Sweats". Impulse is unabashedly still hungry to win a series.
Impulse didn't want to kill zombie Skizz, because of the five minute cooldown, but Skizz makes clear that he was really happy with being a zombie, even if there was a lot of doing nothing in between summons. He says it means a lot to him that he got to help with the burden of facilitating the series, even just a little bit.
Grian gives good insight into his personal life strategy: he does some things to deliberately test his relationship with other players. Standing in the Danger Zone was a trust exercise, testing Jimmy and Scar. Jimmy and Scar failed.
Despite Scar failing the trust exercise, Grian heard the disappointment in Scar's voice about the Snail Bot thing and immediately caved, but he's really happy that it led them to in-canon reconciling and becoming strong allies again.
Grian's favorite moment was making Jimmy pay for the failed trust exercise by blowing up the bunker, particularly pleased with his one liner of "it was always gonna be like this". He says Wild Life as a whole has been the most enjoyable series for him, even though he didn't get to have as much fun as the other players due to knowing all the wild cards.
All three of them gush over the scene of everybody failing to kill Joel as he teleports around, laughing about how it was straight out of a movie or an anime. Impulse feels like Joel took his superpower to a new level, but Grian reminds him the he didn't have an army chasing him around trying to kill him. They're all super impressed with how the finale turned out.
Some of the powers were assigned (Cleo, BigB, BDubs, Scar, Lizzie), some were random (Impulse, Martyn). Some were based on players' names, others on their personal narratives, but coming up with ~16 different powers without including any that would just be exploited for cheap instakills was really difficult, which is why there were so many espionage ones. Hilariously, Grian was hoping Scar would accidentally kill Jimmy by punching him off a cliff because of their ritual of trying punching in the earlier episodes. He also gave Scar that power because he knew Scar wouldn't feel bad about killing people with it.
Grian chose to give himself the mimic so he could show people how their powers worked if he needed to, and so that it wasn't given to somebody else who'd have to spend the whole session figuring out the mechanics of 15 separate superpowers and potentially dying because of it. And because he thinks its the coolest one and he wanted it (lol)
All around there's tons of fun details and stuff in this episode of the podcast and absolutely everybody should listen to it all the way through.
#wild life smp#grian#impulsesv#skizzleman#trafficblr#life series#bonus: grian is still disappointed nobody died in the big desert explosion in third life#but skizz remembers it as one of the coolest things ever#its super cool listening to the card breakdowns too#and how intricately grian tailored them for his friends#and the answer to pretty much every <why did you do BLANK differently?> question is#he wanted his friends to have a blast every single episode ;u;#he asked everyone if they had a good time after every session...

MASTER POST
The Experimental Monster Laboratory, or Monster Labs, is a TADC AU where the cast is in the physical world! Sorta..
C&A Research Facilities is one of the cornerstones of the science and medical worlds! They do everything; funding research, manufacturing equipment, and research into the known and unknown in an effort to understand everything. To the public, that is.
They experiment heavily in everything, from hiring literal Gods on earth to manage the more ..sensitive divisions; mixing machine and magic, technology and the supernatural, genetic experimentation, you name it, they’ve probably done it! The world outside may not know anything of the advancements they’re researching but there is little C&A Labs won’t allow in the name of progress in understanding and cataloging everything in their universe. Our story takes place in one of the more private residencies deep in C&A, belonging to Caine; a minor God with mysterious origins, unknown limitations, and boundless enthusiasm for learning everything he can about his little science friends.

a lil headcanon about the end of NPMD (spoilers ahead, obvs)
i was thinking about NPMD this morning (as you do) and i realized something.
by the end of NPMD, when max's soul is taken by the lords? who do you think is going to torture him the most?
tinky.
let me explain.
who was tinky watching like a hawk during "the summoning"? pete. another spankoffski. another prize for his toybox. he could hardly keep his hands off him. you could see that he wanted to lunge at pete and grab him right away. he probably even got a bit mad when wiggly stroked the boy's face.
but it was okay. because this would be perfect! he'd have a Petey all of his own! and then he could torture the brothers together and they can watch each other suffer which will make them BOTH suffer more-
but then. BUT THEN.
max stopped steph from shooting pete. and either max moves at super ghostly speed or some magic imbued in his undead form from the waylon place gave him time-slowing powers. but either way, he stopped that bullet.
pete was going to die. and he wasn't going to heaven or hell. he was going to be taken to the Black, where he would definitely be tinky's new favorite toy.
so how dare this shitty zombie jock use this ripoff version of his time-controlling powers. and ESPECIALLY how dare he use them to keep pete from getting shot and his soul falling straight into tinky's terrifying grasp?
then he has to watch grace and max have sex, which is absolutely fucking disgusting. he was already seething, but now he knows that he's not going to get a good toy out of this deal. he's getting this stupid shitty kid that no one liked.
and he's not a spankoffski.
so when the lords do take his soul, when max is pulled into the Black, of course wiggly is gleeful about this. all of them are. oh, how they'll enjoy torturing him for all eternity, exposing him to unimaginable horrors and unspeakable evils. what a fun new toy!
but they decide that their furious bastard of a brother should get first dibs. after all, they knew tinky was really looking forward to having a Petey. and it's the only thing they can think of to calm him down, because "rage" doesn't even begin to describe how tinky's feeling right now.
besides, now that they have grace as their fun little soulsnatcher, they'll have plenty of other toys to play with.
so they gladly hand max over to tinky.
max thought he knew what fear was. skele'ns, ghosts, people forgetting about him, his (probably abusive) father.
no.
this is going to be way worse.
he sees tinky's horrific, goat-like grin, feels his crackling, angry energy radiating in the Black and surrounding him.
tinky's voice is low, a deep growl that shakes max's bones. he wears a smile that is anything but happy.
"you're going in the box now, maxie-poo. i hope you have..."
"... a great time." 💛

Spoilers for Patch 5 and the whole game.
I posted my thoughts about the new ending Gale got in patch 5 on Reddit first, but I might as well post it here with some revisions. I'll say it, I love the god Gale ending. But it is NOT his good ending to me. Before I would never have pursued it, but now it is tantalizing to say the least. I'm into it though Gale the mortal is still my preference.
"Gale Dekarios cuts a poor figure next to the wizarding prowess of 'Gale of Waterdeep. You like so many things about me I'd have sooner discarded…"
By ascending Gale, you are killing Gale Dekarios. The nerd that hits on you in front of everyone while you're covered in zombie blood, procced to infodump an entire tangent to complement you, and yet somehow stick the landing to hit you with the most romantic poetry you've ever heard. A sensitive man who wears his emotions on his sleeve and wants to make the world a more beautiful place. An artist of the weave and a poet. The owner of the most overbearing tressym in the world. The moment the spell was complete, Gale Dekarios died and Gale the divine was born.
Even then, why is god Gale now so enticing to me unlike ascended Astarion? Because he loves you. He wants you by his side as an equal. It's actually sweet and romantic, just like all of Gale's romance is. I'm nothing if not a sucker for a romance.
"Follow my Lead" "Show me more. Show me it all." "I want you to seize the crown and make us a new world"
BeMyGod is the name in the data file for the boat scene where Gale asks you if you'll be with him when he seizes the crown. I know file names can be arbitrary, but if you agree to his proposal, you really are asking Gale to be your god. It's so easy to say yes. You're in the stars, Gale says I want to show you so much more, but it's not worth it without you. All you need to do is say yes. You're angry at Mystra who demanded so much of Gale, caused him such suffering and won't lift a finger to help. So You say yes. You love him. He loves you.
When Gale ascends, even in 6 months he is a different entity. The devs indicate: "His posture/demeanor here should feel slightly more aloof/detached than the regular Gale - he's been immortal for six months, his ego is as powerful as his magic. The real Gale's insecurities still lurk beneath his godlike confidence, as does his love for the player, but this is clearly a Gale setting out on a darker path."
The Gale here is a twisted version of the one we loved. His flaws are worse, he good traits have mostly disappeared. Namely his kindness and tolerance to deprecating humor. He no longer tolerates any perceived slight or jab. He doesn't let go of his bitterness towards Mystra. His ego is large yet fragile. You saw a glimpse of it at the ritual circle scene if you succeed in upstaging him in magic. Now it's only gotten worse. Yes even his insecurity. If you rejected him after accepting the proposal, Gale says this.
Tav: No, I think it's the end. What happened to the man I once loved? Gale: He's the god he deserves to be. I achieved everything we hoped I would, and still I'm not good enough for you?
He's also lonelier than ever. His last 6 months were in isolation, with nobody he could trust while dealing with the crown and celestial politics. Immortals don't really have friends. They have allies and lovers. He stops talking to his mother who was so dear to him. He develops a spell to polymorph people into Tara, his oldest friend who rejects him after ascension. He then develops a spell that summons Shadowdark ale and forces people to dance and be happy, just like the vignette he told you about the Yawning Portal. The third spell is Power word: Ruin. he's finally back to speaking death into being with a single word, just like he used to.
Gale wanted to be a god to make a better world, but now he's a neutral god answering prayers from any alignment. He doesn't care if they are Thayan wizards aiming for lichdom or unscrupulous Amnian merchants. Ambition is a neutral idea. Ambition also drives healers to develop a cure. For adventurers to slay monsters.
What's the most noticeable remaining good trait in Gale? Gale still loves you. He's much nicer to you if romanced. He refuses to be with you if you don't go with him because he doesn't want to hurt you. He admires your good heart if you want to honor the pact with Raphael. He calls you my love just like before. He will fulfill the promise sealed that night in the astral sea. All you have to do is say yes. And the ascension cinematic is a callback to the romance scenes from before.
"Follow my lead. Close your eyes. I have so much more to show you."
And you know what. I'll go with you. Even if we will eventually lose both our humanity in our folly, and dreams become nightmares. Even if I'll come to regret that night when I said yes to the mortal you, I don't want you to be lonely. Where ever you go, I'll go. You'll always have me. And I'll always have you.
As God Gale would say… "A toast then, to our myriad ambitions. May we each get what we deserve."
#gale of waterdeep#gale dekarios#god gale#baldur's gate 3#bg3 spoilers#Gale thoughts#Love makes fools of us all#Frankly I think the fact his love is genuine is genius#1k+ words

oooooo now you’re making me want to read the scenario you described (Rufus trying to tell Sephiroth he owns him and making him snap.) that sounds absolutely delicious
I tried my best!
• The air in the boardroom that evening is heavy enough to prompt Lazard to loosen his tie before it suffocates him. The board of directors—along with Sephiroth, Lazard, and Tseng—convened urgently following the sudden demise of President Shinra and the takeover of Rufus.
• Sephiroth has his reasons for despising Rufus as it is, and is not at all happy about having to take orders from him from now on.
• Rufus on the other hand is entirely motivated by ambition and a restless desire to assert his authority over everyone—but especially his late father's bastard.
• He proposes a ruthless course of action detrimental to SOLDIERs interests, so rash that it's clear to Lazard and Sephiroth what he's trying to do. Sephiroth can't keep quiet and unbothered this time. He is bothered, and he is angry for so many reasons.
• Sephiroth vehemently opposes Rufus's gross proposal. By the way his voice—usually leveled and collected—now rang angrily throughout the room, the other directors could sense the situation was bound to escalate quickly. Rufus was not one to be reprimanded by someone he deemed inferior to him.
• Sephiroth's determination to put Rufus in his place is fueled by the knowledge that Rufus was the reason why Glenn is dead. He refuses to let him harm his other friends.
• Rufus knows that Sephiroth knows. And it's his reason why he keeps quiet when Sephiroth is finished, letting the SOLDER's words sit in the air, untouched and uncured for by the rest of the room, who are waiting nervously to hear Rufus' response.
• Rufus, in turn, will come to wish he had kept quiet.
• "I own Shinra now, and by extension, I own you. Unlike Glenn, who met his fate due to disobedience, you will learn to toe the line or suffer the consequences." Rufus hums. "Much like Glenn."
• Sephiroth is enraged. He had the fire burning inside him all these years, but Rufus drenched it in gasoline. He unleashes an ugly floor of rage that tears at his throat, where no scream will come out.
• Sephiroth launches himself across the the table, hands gripping closed around Rufus's throat, cutting off his words and his breath in one swift move he had been waiting years to make.
• Chaos erupts in the room as attempts to pry Sephiroth from the president prove futile against the strength of the SOLDIER. Lazard is quick to call for reinforcements, summoning Genesis and Angeal to intervene before tragedy strikes and Sephiroth does something he'll regret.
• The aftermath for Rufus isn't pretty. Sephiroth nearly crushed his wind pipe completely and left wounds that made it impossible to talk or much less breath without aid. The doctors say he'll be fine, but each labored breath serves as a reminder of how Sephiroth is now a danger.
• And so Rufus issues an order to Hojo, commanding him to take whatever measures he can to restrain Sephiroth and make sure he never has the power to come after him ever again.
• Hojo knows his glorious experiment, and is aware that Sephiroth won't agree to restraints or control so easily—if at all. As much of an inconvenience as it is, he admires that the boy has boundaries. It's interesting. All the more opportunity to bypass them without him knowing.
• So Hojo administered sedatives under the guise of medical treatment, telling him the pills and injections are for his anxiety and stress only.
• Sephiroth doesn't regret the attack, but he is frightened by his own strength. He figures the treatment for his anxiety will help him.
• The sedatives render Sephiroth a hollow shell of his former self.
• Sephiroth's existence becomes a haze of medicated numbness, the essence of who he once was stripped from him and leaving a zombie in its place. The days blur together from him, and he has no other desire other than completing his tasks and obligations before crawling into bed.
• Genesis and Angeal refuse to let this continue. They need to find something, anything, that will pull Sephiroth out of this haze. So they turn to the topic of his origins—more specifically, his mother "Jenova"
• This leads them back to Banora, where they raid Hollander's old lab in search of any bit of information.
• There they find a photograph of a woman matching the exact description of Sephiroth's mother. Except this woman is wearing a lab coat with the name " Dr. Lucrecia Crescent"
• They're confused, and are left with more questions than they had to begin with. But this has to be Sephiroth's deceased mother. He deserves to know about this—whatever this is.
• So they present the photograph to Sephiroth, who is numb at first, until it slowly starts to come back to him. His mother, who he had thought he'd never see again. Except....
• The shock and endless questions pounding at his skull are enough to make Sephiroth gain enough consciousness to confront Hojo. He goes to him, demanding answers , demanding the truth, shoving the photographic proof in his father's face.
• Hojo makes no effort to hide anything. He reveals everything, every ugly detail that Sephiroth had always feared about himself, his existence, his humanity and subsequent lack thereof.
• The revelation of Sephiroth's true lineage plunges him into a depression punctuated by the effects of the drugs on his weak mind. But it doesn't stop him from being angry. If anything, this propels him to take action.
• Damned be Shinra, damned be Rufus and Hojo, and the lies and the very city that had become his gilded cage for so many years. He burns it all to the ground.

Hermitcraft species headcanons. It's also really obvious which hermits I watch
Grian- watcher/parrot avatar: has watcher powers but only uses them in an emergency, has big parrot wings, bird legs, and feet. He does pitch on other hermits, his favorites being Mumbo, scar, gem, impulse, and Skizz (so Magic Mountain minus Joel because he will go limp on purpose). He also sometimes will randomly swoop in, land on a hermit, and take off hard to knock them off balance, his favorite victims being Scar, Joel, and Doc. He has tried to knock Mumbo off but can never get him to fall over for some reason.
Skizz-angle of justice/laughter: has a full angel form. Some of his scars are actually closed eyes. Any sword he welds gets fire aspect until he puts it down. His normal form has a pair of wings and a halo, if he gets overly emotional(stressed, angry, happy, etc) he will gain two more sets of wings, and the halo will become tilted and another one will appear overlapping in front of his eyes(he can still see clear as day) this is not his true form, the only one who has seen his true form is impulse.
Impulsesv-demon: demon of ambition, semi-fireproof but not much. Has a full demon form. Much like Skizz, he has the form he presents most of the time, and when he feels strong emotions, his looks become more demonic. For his every day, he has two small horns on his forehead that go from his normal skin tone to an ashy black and a forked tail that has the same effect. His wings are like bat wings and have small yellow talens on the ends. For his more demonic look, his horns get bigger, his eyes will start to glow, his teeth will become too big to fit in his mouth, and when his tail strikes the ground, it creates sparks. Also, like Skizz, this is not his true form, and Skizz is the only one to have seen it.
Gem-shapeshifter: the main form is a humanoid with deer antlers, usually with flowers and vines woven in.
Scar-vex: made a deal with the vex and became one. His normal form is a human, but if he gets angry, which is rare, his skin turns blue. He can also summon vex wings and can turn into 1-3 small vexes, can only walk through walls and fly when he is in either vex form.
Mumbo-vampier bat/part watcher: can shift to and from bat form but rarely does it mostly because he forgets he can. Gained the watcher part after eating grians soul back in season 8.
Joel- meat-eating pixie hybrid: has sharp teeth for tearing into meat and can shift from his human size to pixie size.
Tango- blaze: fully fireproof, arms are disconnected, but that is usually hidden with his shirt/hoodie, has blaze rods floating around his head and will sometimes use them if he needs one and will give them to other hermits if they ask.
Pearl- moth: has moth wings and antennas. Every once in a while a hermit will find them staring at a light and have to drag them away
Etho- arctic fox: can freely shift from human to fox form and will use this power exclusively to prank people. In human form, he has fox ears and a tail.
False- eagle avatar: has eagle wings,
Ren- dog: on a full moon, he will turn into a full dog, but like a Minecraft dog (zed makes sure to stay inside during full moons because of this), he can also shift into a dog outside of the full moon with the bonus of still being in control. He is allergic to things dogs can't eat, like chocolate, but they just give him a stomach ache, so he sometimes just eats the stuff anyway. In his human form, he has dog ears and a very fluffy tail. If a hermit throws a stick or something around, no matter what state he is in, he will chase it.
Cleo- zombie: sometimes they have to sew their limbs back on, and for whatever reason they can't do it, they will get Joe to do it; other hermits are allowed, but Joe does the best Joe and has fun, colorful thread.
Beef- long-horned cow/bull: has long bull horns that make it annoying to go through doors sometimes.
Xsuma/evil X- void walker: although he technically can breathe the air in the overworld, it is a lot harder, so he wears the suit to help him breathe with the added bonus of having it temper regularly because the end is a lot colder than the overworld.
Hypno- wasp: wasp :)
Cub- vex: was born a vex. They had the same vex features as Scar with the same mechanics.
Doc- creeper/goat/cyborg: doc started as just a normal creeper hybrid, but then he had his arm ripped off, so he made himself a new one with some perks, of course. Then he lost his eye, so he replaced that, and then he just kept going. He now has goat horns, a robotic spine, and butterfly wings, along with countless other modifications. Now, it's not the changes that Doc made to himself that freak the hermits out; most of the hermits think it's really cool, but the fact that no one can figure out how the hell he did it. Replacing an arm by yourself is one thing but a spine. A SPINE DOC. It wasn't even necessary he just did it.
Joe-???: nobody knows what Joe is; everyone just knows he is not human. The most common theory is that he is a ghost, but due to the nature of Joe Hill, nobody is sure. It certainly doesn't help that he keeps saying he is from a place called Nashville, Tennessee, and the hermits can't figure out if it's a server name or a dimension or whatever; most of them have just given up on trying to understand Joe Hills and just accept whatever he is.
Xb- guardian: elder guardian hybrid, has retractable gills and a tail.
Keralis- ethereal being: whatever he is it is not human for one and two, has been here long before the universe formed
Zedaph- sheep: normal sheep hybrid, can be nametag _jeb, but the person who does this will end up with various zany redstone contraptions that may or may not be lethal
Wels- falcon: has falcon wings
Jevin- slime: blue slime
Bdubs- mossy glare: he's solar-powered.

Dragons Rising Season 3 Teaser 1 notes:
We open with the Forbidden Five in what looks like the Forest of Spirits attacking a truck with two civilians. Are they carrying some important goods, or are the Five just having some fun?
Rox is in the center of the Forbidden Five - is she the leader? Zarkt is the one who attacks the truck - is he the leader? Do the FF have a leader?
We still can't see Kur's face in the teaser (though what little we can see of them + their full appearance on the poster makes them look like a zombie/mummy-type creature). We can see the rest of the Five so it's funny that if not for the poster, we still wouldn't know what Kur's face looks like
Zarkt shoots a blast of something at the truck, causing an explosion. Is this the power of Misfortune? Theroxian magic? Some form of Shatterspin? It has enough damage to elevate the car and crack its windshield
Ras still appears injured from S2 in this next shot, and his hammer is next to him where Arin left it. This will likely be right after the end of S2 (implying little to no time has passed). He doesn't look happy
Lloyd, Sora, Frak, and Riyu are looking at something in what might be a cave. Lloyd is in his climber suit, and I'm assuming all shots with the Ninja in their climber suits happen before they get their Storm suits, so this is also probably early on. Frak has a new outfit, likely courtesy of the Ninja. This seems to confirm he's joining the team, either as a Ninja or if not then at least as a close ally
Rox holds one of the prismatic blades. The camera then switches to a wider shot where Nya (now in her storm suit), Sora, and Riyu are all frozen. Rox is levitating and appears to have captured Arrakore in a small, pyramid shaped object (perhaps similar to the Teapot of Tyrahn). If the Ninja have been frozen by a static spell, it is unclear how they might escape, since not even Rox's soul being ripped out of Jordana's body undid the static spell - it lasted indefinitely until Jordana reversed it.
It's also unclear where this shot takes place - Rox appears to be doing some sort of magic ritual, and there are pillars and buildings, but this seems like a new location
Zane encounters another pod, like the one he was trapped in prior to DRS1. He's in his climber suit (so this is probably early in the season) and the pod opens. Is PIXAL inside? Is this some sort of third person memory where Zane is trying to figure out where he was?
Lloyd, wielding one of the prismatic blades, attacks Drix, who vanishes into a swarm of bugs. Behind him, Kai and Nya are attacking some bugs. Swarm functions similar to smoke, although if the bugs attacking Kai and Nya are also part of Drix's power, then he can either summon or control other insects as well. All 3 Ninja are in their storm suits, so this is probably a bit later
Lloyd now attacks Zarkt with one of the prismatic blades while Sora and Frak (it's really hard to see at the end of the scene but I'm pretty sure Frak is here) run up. Zarkt is surrounded by Dragonian warriors. Interesting, Lloyd is not in his Storm suit despite the prismatic blade storyline already starting. Maybe this takes place after the earlier scene where Lloyd, Sora, and Frak were looking for something? Did they find the prismatic blade?
Nya, Sora, and Riyu attack Dragonian warriors while Rox watches, holding a small, pyramid-like object (is Arrakore inside?). This seems to be the same landscape as the other scene with those 4 characters, so this is all probably part of the same interaction
Thunderfang roars!
Nokt attacks Zane, who is holding one of the prismatic blades (though not in his Storm suit) while a freebooter cowers in the background. Maybe the freebooters found a prismatic blade and now the Ninja and FF are trying to take it?
Kai and Drix fight, with Kai in his Storm suit. Interestingly, there are mushrooms in the background. Is this the Realm of Lee?
Zane (still in his climber suit -- I don't think we ever see him in his storm suit) attacks Dorama's Stage Manager, while Zanth is in the background with rocks pinning her down. Maybe Dorama will prove that an initially funny character who steadily lost his charm can actually have some longevity? They seem to be in a desert or otherwise barren land. Stage Manager has been attacked, with arrows and swords lodged in its body, though that doesn't seem to be impeding it. Did Dorama try to kidnap people who fought back?
Sora fights a Dragonian warrior in a location that looks similar to the place she, Nya, and Riyu were fighting Rox. The ground has an interesting aesthetic to it.
Sora, Lloyd, Frak, and Riyu all fall off a cliff. Frak's new outfit is much easier to see now. I assume Riyu will be able to catch the three of them, although I'm not sure where they are. Lloyd is still in his climber suit, and judging by this pairing, this may take place around the same time as the earlier scene with the four of them looking at something
One of the ugliest vehicles in Ninjago history drives through a cave. Based on the set, Kai and Nya should be inside. The cave actually looks similar to the cavern from S2P2's cavern run. I would hope this scene is more interesting than that one
Zane looks up as the camera shows Nokt holding a prismatic blade while the two of them are on top of a moving vehicle. Given the confined space the two of them were in earlier, it's possible that they were fighting inside this vehicle and Nokt managed to take the prismatic blade
Thunderfang roars and shoots a blast of lightning as something happens around him - either stone is surrounding him or he's growing somehow, or something else. He seems to be in the City of Temples. Maybe this is towards the end of S3P1, though I'm not sure if they'd spoil that so early on. S1P1, S1P2, S2P1, and S2P2 refrained from showing any of those episode batches' final battles in their teasers. This might instead either be part of the flashback that will kick off S3, E1 (the City of Temples happened to be in the first realm, maybe?) or one of Lloyd's visions. Or Thunderfang is released fairly early in S3P1 (say, around episode 5) so this isn't spoiling the end of the season. The poster seems to show the City of Temples so this last explanation seems very plausible. Maybe it's only after Thunderfang is released that the Ninja put on their storm suits?
The Dragons Rising logo has a new, purple, storm effect. This seems to end the idea that every season would be based around one Source Dragon (lightning in S1 for the SD of energy, fire in S2 for the SD of motion) since this new effect is very clearly for Thunderfang, not any of the source dragons (which means the lightning in S1 was probably for Jiro).
The description of the teaser mentions that the Chaos Dragon is the source of the Forbidden Five’s “dark power”. We know that elemental powers come from source dragons, Thunderfang wanted to be a source dragon, and that the Forbidden Five did not inherit their powers from their parents*. Perhaps Thunderfang directly gave them their elemental powers somehow? Maybe they couldn't use them under Thunderfang was free - the only time we see something that's definitely an elemental power is when Drix uses Swarm, and by then, some time has passed (the Ninja are in their Storm suits) so maybe Thunderfang is free by then?
Neither Jay, PIXAL, nor Morro appear in the teaser, although Jay does show up in the poster. That being said, neither do Arin, Cole, or Wyldfyre (they're not in the teaser; they are on the poster) so I don't think that says very much. Jordana doesn't show up on either, but if they're bringing back Dorama and the Freebooters, I doubt they'd drop her
Zane is never seen out of his Climber suit. Is it possible that his storm suit is noncanon and he goes from Climber suit to his new body? Or is that way too big a leap to make?
There's new music in the teaser

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX Episodes 122-123 Subbed (Finalized)
(Previously: Episodes 120-121 Subbed [Finalized])
(Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)
TURN-122: Crisis in the Duel Academia! The Terror of the Zombie Students!
Having found the medicine on the submarine, Judai and his friends hurry towards the Duel Academia. Meanwhile, a suspicious student approaches Manjoume, on guard to protect the academy, and with a "Let's duel...", he requests a duel. Manjoume duels him, but he is then asked for one duel after another... Judai and the others arrive at the academy, and just as they question the lack of students who were supposed to be on guard, students appear out of nowhere, greeting them with a "Let's duel..." Realizing something is off at the academy, Judai and the others...
TURN-123: Operation Rescue Rei! The Elemental Heroes VS the Fallen Angel Nurse
The zombie students within the academy continue to increase. Judai is uneasy, fearing that they will also go on to occupy the Infirmary where the seriously injured Rei is resting. Everyone decides to work together and make their way to the Infirmary. Though they are ambushed by many zombie students along the way, Judai and Johan manage to arrive at the Infirmary. Who they found awaiting them was an already-zombified Professor Ayukawa, who stops them from treating Rei with the medicine. Composing himself, Judai duels with Ayukawa. Professor Ayukawa summons Reficule the Fallen Angel Nurse and intentionally restores Judai's Life, but...

🎶'Cause it's a dueling thriller...🎶
Happy new year! Appreciate everyone who's shown support over the past year (and in years past ofc) for my various little YGO projects, be it through likes/reblogs or even words of thanks (which always help to keep me going knowing my work's appreciated and is helping folks enjoy the shows involved more); I'm looking forward to getting more work done on 'em in 2025 (and getting closer to finally fully finalizing my GX work so I can step back after 16+ years and go back to being a fan lmao) 😃 [what is time]
Anywho, delayed a bit longer than I'd hoped (for reasons I'll get into below), 122 and 123 are finally finalized! Shenanigans in this other world pick up a bit as we now have Duel Zombies on our hands, which was an interesting twist but I always liked this little mini-arc for it, especially since it gives Professor Ayukawa--underused for most of the show since the Seven Stars arc, though she gets more screentime as of Season 3--some action in 123, one of my favorites (the animation from Tea Sun In's team, and in particular Gil Bo Noh's scenes during Judai's last turn, goes hard). I also appreciate that the Dis-Belts Cobra established are what play a role in the zombification, along with how it even affects the Ojama Trio when Manjoume becomes one, and I love how the reveal of Shou having become a zombie goes. (Also shoutout to the dub, as it's here that they start to be a bit more faithful dialogue-wise [despite still dubbing it up in spots (and disregarding what they do to most of Shou's character episode in 137)], and the duel gameplay dialogue in particular starts to noticeably improve.)
Also, quick shoutout to Zichs and his GX DVDRip releases over on NAC, which gave me another source for the audio due to some odd timing issues with the Astral_Union rip's audio; I used Sony Vegas to get it re-synced nicely.
Animation error-wise, 123 had the most, though 122 had a fair couple happen--altogether, there were about 20 fixes I worked on, mostly a few quality-of-watching ones around split-screens with a minor card error fix or two, along with a case of Burstlady's missing shoulder strap re-occurring in 123. What did take these a while to get done is that, for the hardsub, I wanted to translate the posters of Mrs. Tome behind Manjoume during his scenes in the Food Storage Facility (which read "Our Food's Important!" and "No Stealin' Allowed ♥")--I started work on them around December 10th and finished up sometime last weekend, I think. I've made a video showing off the edits, as well as a post here, but overall, it took a lot of motion tracking in AfterEffects, masking, and careful editing-in of my translation (since there wasn't a full frontal shot of either poster, I had to work with partial translations that I put into place as best I could [without shrinking Tome's head in spots like the dub did when they edited their blank edits them]) to make them work, and I think they came out pretty well! As usual, edit breakdowns below the cut for the interested!
Quick housekeeping: I applied a consistency update to episode 40, revising "Offering to the Dead" to "Tribute to the Dead" to match that card's use in 122 here and back in 87. I also went re-encoded episode 121's hardsub with a fix to Ayukawa's hair during a clip in the preview that I just worked on for 122 proper. Both episodes' links have been updated in the masterpost (121's in its release post as well), and I'll be re-posting the hardsub/script/MKV for 40 and hardsub for 121 on NAC with 122-123's release.
Anywho, enjoy! With these out of the way, I'll be making up for the delay here by jumping into 124 and 125 next, and then after that, I'll jump back into TFSP to work on re-translating Kite's and Kotori's events for the ZEXAL mode, along with some more work on ARC-V "Dub-Uncut" episode 2 throughout. Stay tuned!
Fixes & Edits! (122)
As mentioned above, throughout the scenes involving Manjoume and the Food Storage Facility, I visually translated the posters with Mrs. Tome on them behind him for the hardsub; see this post for a full showcase (also this video). Given that I edited my partial translation edits into 26 total scenes ("partial" due to the lack of proper frontal shots of either poster, thus working with what was available and manipulating the edits into the scenes), I won't go into a breakdown for each, but as I noted above, a lot of motion tracking use in AfterEffects was involved for most scenes, along with brightness tweaks, careful masking of the translations over the Japanese text and of the Ojamas or other characters in front of them, some manual zoom recreation through keyframes in Sony Vegas, and some additional frame touchups in Sony Vegas to clean up character masks as needed due to some color bleeding from the Japanese poster text. Came out nicely for about 19 days of work as able! (Also, the errors mentioned below were fixed for the translated-poster equivalent scenes, as well.)
Early in the episode proper, as Ayukawa looks at Rei's wound, she thinks about how it's getting worse and wonders if Judai found the medicine they needed, but as she turns her head for the latter bit, an error happens where it seems that the animators duplicated the layer with Ayukawa's bigger hair bang because a second bang moves behind her head in a very similar way (and it's also not fully drawn in the first frame as used here). As detailed/shown here, I quickly fixed this across the five frames as she moves, using Photoshop and a reference frame from the end of the shot to mask in or clone parts of the background as needed to cover up the extra bang, while masking out the smaller bang she has at the back of her head to keep it over the redone background. I then just went and added this fix to the 122 preview in 121, re-uploading the hardsub.
As Manjoume draws for his first turn versus his Duel Zombie opponent, there's a quick movement frame (lasting three frames) at the end of his "I draw!" line where his open mouth randomly jumps to the bottom right of his face. I fixed this in Sony Vegas by masking out his open mouth and lip shadow and moving them into place over an edit I did to remove his error mouth so that it's consistent with the frames prior.
After Manjoume OTKs the Zombie, he taunts him, calling it ridiculous that a duelist of his caliber sought to duel him; he does a "Gotcha!" pose with his right hand as he does so (as called out by Ojama Green) and catches himself doing it, and as he shifts himself into a different pose, there's a quick movement frame (lasting 2-3 frames) where there's a jacket-colored gap between his middle and index fingers--except, given where Manjoume's shoulder is, it wouldn't make sense for his jacket to extend to this gap. I fixed this in AfterEffects, as I worked to add in my poster-translation edit, by applying a negative mask on said gap so that the poster behind him is visible between his fingers.
As a few other Zombies start to close in on Manjoume, as Ojama Yellow notes that they really did come in a group as he'd suggested, we see that, though his Disk is still on, the red orb that should be in the middle isn't filled in. I fixed this first in Photoshop by applying some red coloring there, with a blurred screen-blended layer above it for some light-radiating, then brought the fixed frame into AfterEffects, where I applied the motion tracking I'd done to it to move it along with the shot as it pans leftward.
Later, after Judai and co are back at the academy and they notice more Duel Zombies approaching them in the entrance hall, Johan turns to Judai to say that they should leave, and Judai agrees as the Zombies get closer to them--but Judai's Disk wasn't fully drawn in this shot. I quickly fixed this in Vegas by slightly cropping the shot so that the gap between the edge of Judai's disk and the edge of the video frame wasn't visible. (It would've also been easy to draw in the missing bits in Photoshop, but for the sake of time and all.)
Sometime later, after Judai and co. escape into a locker room to get away from zombie!Manjoume and the rest of his horde, Kenzan can't believe Manjoume also became one, while Asuka notes how awful this is--but as she says that, an error happens after she initially moves in which a streak of white goes across the black pupil in her left eye, connecting the highlights on her eye, which continues for 40-50 frames before she turns to hear Shou crying. Fixed this in Photoshop first, redrawing the black of her pupil and then redrawing the white highlights slightly over it, then bringing the fixed frame into AfterEffects and using motion tracking to re-pan the edit for the shot, tweaking the keyframes it generated as needed for correct positioning.
A bit later, as Judai fuses Featherman with Burstlady to have Flame Wingman blast them away from the Duel Zombies, there's a quick error as Featherman and Burstlady's pre-fusion split-screen splits apart where the border on Burstlady's split is uneven for a frame. Fixed in Vegas by redoing the border on it.
Fixes & Edits! (123)
As Ayukawa stares in shock at the first Duel Zombie she defeated who snuck into the Infirmary through the ceiling, there's a quick movement frame (lasting three frames) as she turns her head downward to look at his deck where part of the outline around the top of her head briefly disappears. Fixed while prepping the "Just After This" clip at the end of 122, I threw this frame into Photoshop and quickly redrew that part of the outline on her head, then mixed the fixed frame into the footage in Vegas.
A bit later, once Judai and Johan get into the Infirmary and are confronted by zombie!Ayukawa and the students in there, there's an overhead shot as Ayukawa tells them that dueling her won't hurt one bit where Judai's foot is visible through the medicine box Johan is holding before he starts to move away. Fixed in Photoshop by filling in the coloring on the box around where his foot's shown, then threw that fixed frame into Vegas, applying a mask to isolate the fix on top of the footage.
A few scenes later, as Judai tells Ayukawa that she's on, Ayukawa slides in on a split-screen to chuckle before it splits apart as they get their duel started--but on slide-out, the border that should be on the edge of Ayukawa's split is instead partway into her split, and stays there throughout her slide-out while also causing her slide-out to be uneven with Judai's. I fixed this in Vegas, first redoing Ayukawa's split's slide-out so that I could layer that over the erroneous border, then re-added a border on the redone split's edge which moved along the same position keyframes, and also redid the border on Judai's a little to match it.
After the eyecatch, and Jim running from his beaten Duel Zombie only to run into more, Ayukawa draws for her turn, but a few things happen: a) there's a blank card where she'll eventually play Reficule, only she hasn't played anything yet, and b) her lip-flaps are more off than they'd likely be for her "I'll start us off" line while she has none for her "I draw!" one as she moves. I fixed both in Vegas, first taking a frame with the blank card into Photoshop and blanking that Monster Zone before then throwing the fixed frame into the footage in Vegas with a mask to isolate the fix, and then by masking out and manipulating a few of her stationary lip-flaps to move along with her as she shouts, "I draw!". (Her lip-flaps are also slightly off as she declares her Reficule summon, but I left those alone as these were more noticeable.)
During Judai's first turn, after he plays Fusion, we see Featherman and Burstlady appear on a split-screen as they then blend together to fuse into Flame Wingman--but during this, we have the return of the missing-Burstlady-shoulder-strap error (the last instance being in 113 or 114, I believe). As I detailed/shown here, I fixed this by using Photoshop to redraw her strap in a frame after she fully appears, then saving the fix itself as a transparent image that I then brightened and moved/faded into the footage as she first appears in Vegas, before then manually editing in the strap during the 42 frames as Burstlady is swirled into Featherman. (Have I mentioned my love for this show is like an Ojama)
After summoning Flame Wingman, Judai attempts to go into an attack, but Ayukawa stops him by activating her Dark Cure Trap--though in the quick zoom-out that happens as she swings her arm around to do so, there are a few frames where the Reficule on her Disk is missing before it ends up staying. I fixed this by applying a proxy during only those error frames, using a little quick motion tracking in AfterEffects as needed during each part of the movement as it zooms out.

I fixed this by applying a proxy during only those error frames, using a little quick motion tracking in AfterEffects as needed during each part of the movement as it zooms out.
A bit later, after Ayukawa goes on to use her Sadistic Potion to power Reficule up, Judai reacts in shock as Ayukawa then slides in on a split-screen to taunt him by saying that she made sure to immunize herself before being attacked--but Judai starts to move a few frames before Ayukawa starts sliding into view for the split-screen. Fixed in Vegas by redoing Ayukawa's slide-in so that it starts as soon as Judai moves.
During Ayukawa's next turn, as she uses her Bonfire Magic Card, a repeat of 122's #5 happens as the red orb on Ayukawa's active Disk isn't filled in, though part of the outline along the left side of her dress is also missing. Fixed first in Photoshop by coloring it the red orb along with adding back an outline along her dress, then masking both fixes into the footage in Vegas.
A bit later, as Ayukawa explains Burning Algae's Life-restoring effect on a split-screen with Judai, the border on their split is drawn a bit inconsistently and unevenly, such that part of Ayukawa's hair ends up over it, and the slide-out into the shot of Judai with her two Burning Algaes is also uneven as Judai's split takes a frame longer to slide offscreen. Fixed both in Vegas, first redoing the border on Judai's split as it slides in so that, once fully in place, it covers up the previous one, then applying the fixed border to both their sliding-out splits to keep it looking consistent while also ending them at the same time by duplicating the first post-split frame over the one error frame.
A bit after, as Ayukawa has her Burning Algae throw a battle to Flame Wingman to make Judai lose via Reficule's effect, Judai activates Hero Barrier to save himself--but there are a few quick frames during the rapid zoom-out here where the space that should have Flame Wingman's card is transparent, with the flipped table placed to keep the door closed behind him visible. Fixed in AfterEffects by applying a proxy, using a little motion tracking as needed.
After the duel, as Judai and Johan react in shock to Ayukawa getting back up and threatening to make them join her, Johan moves to summon Topaz Tiger to help them escape--but for a quick movement frame (lasting three frames), there's a coloring error as the highlight spot on the blue control orb of his Disk accidentally gets colored like the sheet Rei's sleeping in. Fixed in Photoshop by recoloring that spot per a reference frame, then using Vegas to mix the fixed frame into the footage.
A bit later, once everyone regroups and Rei's given the medicine, they resolve to find a way out of this world; they all slide into a split-screen together before it then splits apart to just show Amon, but a few things happen: a) the slide-in of both halves of the split-screen is a bit uneven, b) the border on a few of the splits (notably Kenzan's, Jim's, and Johan's) are slanted, c) the background behind Amon in his split doesn't match the correction to the gym background as the split-screen splits apart to expand on him, and d) both halves slide out unevenly. I fixed these in parts using Vegas, though with little from Johan's split to work with I left his slanted border alone; I redid the slide-in of each half of the split-screen to be even, while also using post-split Amon in his split to keep the background behind him consistent and to cover up parts of the slanted borders on Kenzan and Jim's splits so that the fixed borders on them worked nicely, and then redid each half's slide-out to be more even.

do you want something really fluffy? So what about a concept for Stuffy AU! Glamrock Freddy?
Well... I can't do 'fluffy' but I will admit this'll be cuter than other concepts I've done. Now, here's the difference between the Fluffy and Stuffy AU.
Stuffy AU - Biological anthro animals who can become plush toys.
Fluffy AU - Biological anthro animals but... includes zombies and is way less cute-
Here's another fic I've done in this AU, it's with Bonnie
Yandere! Stuffy AU! Glamrock Freddy Concept
Pairing: Platonic/Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Stalking, Freddy is some sort of magical creature/SCP (?), Murder, Overprotective behavior, Obsession, Vague relationship, Forced affection, Manipulation, Delusional behavior, Implied invasion of privacy.
In this AU Glamrock Freddy is one of the best choices.
This is due to him being very caring and parental.
Him being a magical creature that can become a plush toy for kids would make sense.
You had gotten Freddy when you were younger.
You thought he was just a normal plush toy and bonded with him.
You did everything together, every activity, every location... you never parted.
As you get older this could go two ways.
Glamrock Freddy continues to harbor platonic feelings towards you, treating you like a kid even though you're an adult.
That or as you get older he shifts his feelings to romantic, feeling as though he grew up and matured alongside you instead of being a parent.
Either way, he loves you very much.
He feels every hug...
He listens to every word...
As far as he's concerned he is yours until the end.
Glamrock Freddy retains a lot of his usual yandere behavior.
He's overprotective of you and is very affectionate.
It was easier for Freddy to show his true form when you were younger.
With kids it's easy to excuse it as their imagination.
Freddy adored playing with you.
He retains his usual appearance just not mechanical.
He's always loved you and respected the fact as you got older you didn't put him in a box.
You put his plush form on a shelf instead.
Freddy knows almost everything about you.
He feels guilty... but he promises watching you as a plush was to make sure you were safe!
There was one time burglars attempted to steal something of yours for example...
They were met with a bear-like creature staring them down, blue eyes predatory before they were attacked to the floor.
He made sure the blood was cleaned afterwards then went back to his spot.
Freddy is your guardian despite you not knowing it.
When you were an adult he really wanted to show you his true form.
How you end up finding out about it may be by accident.
Which certainly causes a heart attack for you.
You're panicking while Freddy blocks the door to your room, trying to explain the situation.
Once/if your hysterics die down then Freddy is happy.
He explains to you that he's meant to serve as your guardian ever since you were young.
He's kept you and your house safe.
He's even said he's meant to supply you with happiness and fun when you're down.
Freddy is trying his best to show you he wishes to help.
Explaining the fact he can become a plush toy is an... interesting conversation
Soon you grow to accept the fact you can summon a giant bear in your house through a plush toy and try to get used to it.
You barely can and he won't go back to plush form.
Freddy feels now he should help you even more!
He no longer has to worry about being caught so he'll solidify his role in your life!
No matter how he feels you love him, he'll love you back the same.
The issue is he causes you stress.
You can't have company anymore.
No friends... potential partners... nothing.

Far as he knows you two are partners just like you were years ago!
Even when you sit the fluffy beast down to explain your troubles he still doesn't the extent of it.
"I'm just caring for you like I've always done!"
"I know- But I need to be able to function in my own home!"
"Am I being too much?"
Also, as a fluffy creature such as himself... he likes to hold you.
Freddy is overbearingly caring.
Freddy loves to hold you, nuzzle you, and cuddle you.
You don't have much of a choice in the matter.
You'll be heading your way to bed, only to see Freddy smiling at you eagerly while sitting on your sheets.
"It'll be just like the past! No need to be shy, I promise to take good care of you."
Having Freddy as some sort of guardian or companion would leave you with little alone time.
He's caring to the point of suffocation.
While he doesn't like to use violence... if your safety is threatened then he'll protect you with everything he's got.

Good Omens thoughts in summary
On the whole, I’m happy with it. Won’t mind watching it again and again, definitely.
The Good:
Michael and David entirely loving their characters and each other and bringing that to life so wonderfully. The bickering and sniping and affection made me so happy
The entire Job storyline making it clear that God is as arbitrary and as indifferent to humanity and their suffering as Heaven, but Aziraphale still can’t see it because God still talks to Job when She long since stopped talking to the angels
All the tasty juicy parallels running all over the place - the realisation that actually, no Nina isn’t the grumpy signifier for Crowley, she’s the Aziraphale trapped in a toxic and controlling relationship but staying because it’s her partner and she feels she has to? And Maggie being the signifier for Crowley, the one who isn’t afraid of hard work and who will be brave and wait for the one they love?
The entire score - David Arnold is a master with his music and he inflicts musical pain so beautifully.
the sneaky little hints of Crowley’s angelic history
The ending. I know I’m probably in a minority, but I legit love that Aziraphale is still doing what he believes is the right thing to protect the world and Crowley. As Crowley said “whether it’s Hell or Heaven that destroys it, it will still be dead” and Aziraphale standing at that lift and pulling on his game face because he knows The Big One is coming. Crowley knew there would be another apocalypse, he warned him about it at the end of S1. Aziraphale’s been afraid of it for so long because he fears losing Crowley and the world. If Crowley was on the same side as him, he would have some level of protection, but even if Crowley won’t go with him, he will go to the place he fears and dislikes because if he’s not there to try and change things, who will?
the Metatron being a shady shady bitch. After all, he can’t have an angel and a demon who can summon up the power in excess of the Supreme Archangel working together when Heaven has plans in motion.
Aziraphale being a precious wee bean when it comes to looking after Maggie, purely because he likes his records.
A/C and their respective perspectives of what makes things romantic and trying to make Romance Happen. It’s also such a useful little reminder that Free Will is a thing. “we’re not toys for you to play with”.
Jim. I loved seeing how the lads interacted with him, but also how his behaviour changed and developed the more time he spent around them. Not to mention the fact that even with his memory gone, Gabriel instinctively knew Aziraphale was someone who would protect him because Aziraphale is the Guardianist Guardian to ever Guardian.
The Meh:
I am fully indifferent to the Nazi zombies. It felt pointless and was much too much unnecessary gore and time spent on body humour and body horror. Furfur could have done it solo. We could have had more of the magic act. But instead we get excessive time dedicated to lurching zombies who pretty much did bugger all aside from pull faces.
Too many new and random side characters and not enough time for them all. Some parts felt a bit scattered because there were just so many little things happening.
Beez and Gabe felt rushed. I know it was the undercurrent of the whole series, but cramming the big reveal into 5 minutes with barely hints earlier felt a bit much.
Otherwise, I know that much of this was set-up for S3. There is so much significance to the fact that all three of the flashbacks relate to times when people/bodies came back from the grave. I can’t remember Jim’s exact quote, but he cited something that I think is from Revelation about the dead rising and that is entirely fodder for S3.

why was papyrus killed off? will there be a scene describing his death, what happened to him? and can we see how it effects the characters afterwards? (sans, undyne, alphys, MTT specifically since they were the closest)
Papyrus was killed off mostly for character building purposes with Sans. and also bcz i cant and refuse to draw him. 😭
I promise you its for good reason. He’s naive and eager to help people. Personally, id dont think hed last long without toughening up a little. I love papyrus, but a zombie apocalypse is not where he belongs. Its not where a lot of these characters belong, which is why they all depend on each other.
In the comic. or. book. or whatever im gonna do with this au, there is gonna be a scene about his death, and theres gonna be reactions to it.
For how it impacts the characters, id prefer to. write it rather than show it with images, because its a LOT to draw out.
For one;
Sans was devastated. He tried to save Papyrus in the moment, but in an attempt he had used more magic than hes used to. Since monsters have gone years without use of immense amounts of magic (Modern commodities made it easier to live), summoning a powerful magic attack blinded him temporarily and left him visually impaired. After it settled in, he stopped doing a lot of things. He stopped getting up for militia work, quit working in the lab, and refused to leave his bed. He was useless for months until Alphys proposed an elaborate plan to, hopefully, find a cure.
Undyne was upset as well, but took a different approach to it. Prior to the incident, she was full of energy and determined to get through it. She tried to remain positive and keep people looking up, but that all .. fell apart once Papyrus died. She continued her work, but she got meaner. Straight to the point, no time for chit chat. She got impatient and demanding. Whatever the militia had been doing before, they were doing tenfold now. It lost a few members. Unlike Sans, she became more cautious and careful. Any sign of danger? She’d go in first ti make sure the others didn’t get hurt. She wasnt reckless; she wasnt cowardly. Undyne saw that without Papyrus, things got more serious, dangerous. She acted accordingly to such.
Mettaton didnt get a chance to know Papyrus until after the apocalypse started and he was called to come spend time with family instead of travelling. When the commune started and everyone had to go into groups, Papyrus was originally ordered to stay at base and help ration. Occasionally, he’d dabble in medical work while helping others under the supervision of his father, Gaster, or he’d help in entertaining other and keep them distracted. Thats where he met Mettaton. They talked, they bantered, and they hit off. They made good friends, and it stayed that way. A couple months after the apocalypse started, Muffet had joined the group and took over Papyrus’s position, which pushed him to join the militia. Mettaton, among others, urged him not to. When he did join, Mettaton was pretty upset. They saw eachother less and less, but when they did, he acted in support. After papyrus died, Mettaton’s life didnt change much. His routines seemed more… lackluster. He didnt seem as happy and distracting as he thought, and his attempts to cheer everyone up went pretty sour. He didnt put as much effort into his job as he should have been. Luckily, he made good recovery after some time of grief. He confided in Sans and Alphys, where Alphys was more of a help than Sans was.
Considering they werent… the best of friends, he got over it quicker than the others, but he was still down,
Other notable characters;
Alphys, who was upset for Sans and because Papyrus was usually great to be around. She seemed more unwilling to work for a week or two.
Dentin and Sid, who liked having Papyrus around. Dentin smiled less and Sid became more irritable, but they got through it.
Grillby was upset and tried to get Sans to talk about it with him, but to no prevail.
The commune itself seemed a little down after that, but most of them made good recovery after a 1-2 weeks of grief.

Gasp!
Eyes wide open and panting that threatened to clog his throat, Sheldon sprung awake in a cold, bright room.
He had on a gown in white, just reaching below his knees. a light source, not made of fire or lanterns, hung from the ceiling, letting out a deafening buzzing sound.
The walls were… white, and… unfamiliar. It was blinding.
The room was empty, except for the strange devices in some corner, and a room behind glass high up on a wall. From behind the glass, Sheldon would spot figures with white coats, forms not far from his own.
"⍑ᒷ----, ⋮╎ᒲ. ⊣𝙹ℸ ̣ ᒷリ𝙹⚍⊣⍑ ᓭꖎᒷᒷ!¡ ꖎᔑᓭℸ ̣ リ╎⊣⍑ℸ ̣ ?"
" ⊣𝙹↸ リ𝙹."
Their words were muffled and far away, he couldn't hear or understand them.
He would call out to them, but everything about this situation made them feel like authority, and he was taught not to grab attention when taken hostage.
" ᔑꖎ∷╎⊣⍑ℸ ̣ , ℸ ̣ ᒷᓭℸ ̣ 𝙹リᒷ ᓵ𝙹ᒲᒲᒷリᓵ╎リ⊣ ╎リ 3….2…1."
A zombie groan would be heard from strange devices around the room, and Sheldon's immediate instinct was to look and hide, but he had nowhere to go. Adrenaline in his knees, all he could do was cower at the sidelines.
What he couldn't see was that the figures who watched over him observed his reaction, and wrote it down on a piece of paper.
This would go on for a few more minutes.
They summoned an actual zombie and when he cowered, they wrote it down
They dropped food from the ceiling and when Sheldon picked it up, they wrote it down.
They gave him a lecturn and when he picked up a book, they wrote it down,
They had him fall from a short drop, and when he got hurt they wrote it down.
It was all too much, and Sheldon could barely remember any of it.
They typed a few buttons and placed a bed. Suddenly Sheldon was tired, and when he went to sleep, they wrote it down.
He woke up and the light was blinding, more than it usually was. For a moment, he was happy to seemingly wake up from such a nightmare, only to realize that he was still asleep.
The patient tried to sit up to no avail, his hands and legs were strapped down to the bed, though, admittedly, he put up quite the fight. He turned to his right, and when his eyes adjusted, he saw another form.
It was a villager,
raven hair, fair skin, and …
Sheldon sighed mentally.
…White coat.
From what Sheldon could assume was a she, was tapping on buttons on a strange device. And for a split second, her eyes turned to the patient before turning back to him completely. In her eyes, surprise and almost… annoyance?
" Oh god, you're awake." She sighed and put a palm on her face, lifting her glasses momentarily. " I could get coders to make it so it’s night but we don't have time… hm.. "
" Wait! Where am I?? " Sheldon asked, the restraints keeping him in bed. " W-who are you??"
The woman replied as if she answered this a thousand times before. " Im employee number 14 9 3 8 15 12 5 , but you can call me Dr. Claud. Your name is Sheldon Birch, I don't know your number currently, but you were brought to heaven because your form is no longer available, and are being tested for a new one. We're just here to see if your code is compatible. "
Sheldon shook his head, brows heavily furrowed in confusion. She seemed to have taken note.
" Ahh, I don't know why I bother, you'll forget this when you wake up anyway."
" No-- wait- so… im .. dead? "
“It's complicated. Basically, every time you die, you’re brought here for a new chance of life, but you won’t remember it in the morning. You’re still the same character, so.”
" C.. character? Code? Hah! Oh lady you have no idea what you’re talking about." Sheldon couldn’t help but laugh, but to his surprise, her laugh seemed to have surpassed his.
She answered so casually as if a coworker told her a little joke. “ Alright, Ares. "
Silence.
"...How did you..? "
" You’re not a person. You’re code. The only reason why you think you have memory is because you were written to have one.”
“ You’re talking nonsense..”
“ You’re talking nonsense!” She said, almost in a playful manner. “Did you really remember the wars? Or do you much clearer remember just-- waking up one day, and all those things happening in the “past”?” When she saw the disbelieved and speechless look in the man's eyes, she shook her head satisfied. It annoyed her to be called nonsensical by beings lower than her, and she was happy to wipe that sure look on his face.
This goes on for some time, and the woman seems to be looking over the computer to see if everything was running fine. Sheldon, however, could not believe his ears.
“ God damn it…” Sheldon whispered to himself. “ … god damn it.”
To think that his life was fake. All the things that happened to him, all the shit he went through, were all for nothing. The wars, his death, his injuries, the disagreements, and-- not only that-- the sorrow of losing love, life, and family, all for nothing.
They were all not real.
While strapped in a room he had no familiarity with, he was forced to rethink his life, questions swarming through his head and answered quickly and brutally, the doctor not even bothering to lay it easy on him; it was as if she’s dealt with this situation once, twice, tens of times before--
And what could he do? He was forced back into an existence that meant nothing, apparently. And if he fought there would be nowhere he could go. He would be strapped down, and even if he was successful, he’d be brought back until he was ready again.
Sheldon closed his eyes and let the restraints take him. In his shut eyes were dread and disbelief, lying softly on the bed with a loose body that no longer found a reason to fight on.
“ If anything, Your friend fought more than you. Your identity as commander was not actually experienced, but with her, the story demands that she’s still at war. “
“ Erma…”
“ You got it.”
A shaky breath escaped him. The thought of Erma being in the same situation as him, her herself being a vessel... They did not actually experience all the things that happened in their past, but they both lived as if they did.
and with a weak breath, he asked a question, as if already knowing the answer, “ Hey. Even if things are all... fake... do you think that, at least, the love she feels for me is real?”
" That depends on you, honestly.” The Doctor shrugged. Sheldon’s head tilted over to her, confused. Of all the things she told him that day, he was most unsure about that one.
“ What..?”
“When everything in your life is as fake as you are, does that make your experience any less real? " She said so casually, dropping bombs on the poor man without even looking away from the screen.
Sheldon… thought about that response. So it seems that even the doctor didn’t have all the answers. And after a moment of thinking about it, the patient sighed and put his head down, as if a weight was lifted by her words. "... That’s a nice way to look at it, actually.. Perhaps I’m not any less real than you. We’re just… different. "
The woman paused, and with a slow turn, looked at the patient on the bed. That was a different response from the usual.
She shrugged it off though and turned back to her screen. "Exactly. What truly defines real or fake? Are you any different from me because your made of code and im made of skin? " She laughed. " Perhaps Im not even real. Perhaps Im just a bunch of words on a screen."
The villager laughed, and the doctor smiled that he saw the light of the situation. And as the smile continued on her face she rolled her eyes as a relieved chuckle exited the character’s lips.
" All my friends, Player, Erma… my son.” He almost choked on the last one. “ …They’re still waiting for me back home… "
" Oh, Erma was an angel. Always thinking with her head, that one. Strangely she's easy to accept that all her experiences were not real. Never fought us. ‘At least no one's actually getting hurt’, she says. "
“ Oh, Erma…” Sheldon said with a chuckle and a tear in his eye.
In silence, the doctor’s eyes turned to him, then back to her work. “ You really made me think this time. Usually, you’d be-- a lot more defensive.” she chuckled and pointed at the restraints.
Sheldon chuckled back,“ It seems I’m capable of change. Fascinating, isn’t it?”
“ I suppose so…” She shook her head and finished off the last bits of code before he was officially good to go. “ It’s a shame that you won’t remember this. You were of nice company.”
“ Oh don’t worry doctor,” He winked and then laughed, bracing himself. “ You’ll see me next time.”
A small nod and a loading screen later,
Sheldon was generated off,
and into a familiar plain.
and the universe

Wake up!
Gasp!
Eyes wide open and panting that threatened to clog his throat, Sheldon sprung awake in a dimly lit room. That's how it always was in the morning. No light would hit his face as he force his curtains shut for every time he was off to sleep.
It was a day like any other, his son knocked at his door to make him coffee, him kissing his forehead to thank him, and invited him to join him for the morning.
As he sat in bed and held his son, random… unexplained.. thoughts went to his head. Of all the memories he had of being a witch, one came to him that was seemingly out of nowhere.
When his father retired from his position, he was forced to take his place, and to officiate it, he would need to have a ceremony that guaranteed a “long-lasting life”. Every coven head would need to go through one to officially take their position, and the queen as well as her late father would bless them during the festivities..
“ a gift from heaven” they call it…
He wonders if that was the reason why he’s lived as long as he did, if it even counted anymore, or if he even deserved it. The concept of God and Heaven, he didn’t fully believe in, but somehow…
He’s heard that his sister would be taking his position the way he did his father.
And he can’t help but feel like she’d be seeing them soon.

ok so this post that you reblogged is exactly how I envisioned the 2/3rd chapter in Spores when Ford and reader are running/hiding from the Bies (minus the men, obviously). But the creature?? Exactly how I imagined it, the picture in my head while reading was flawless and the chaos of the framing was also how I imagined it while reading. I know I’ve praised you for your writing before but UGH it’s so good. If you were to ever write a horror book what would be the premise? Oh also since you wanted asks for Ford and Stan (I’m giving you two asks in one here lol sorry about that) what horror movie or novel can you see each of them staring/surviving in? Like which one do u think would be best suited to each one of their respective ‘vibes’ and overall skill when it comes to fighting the main bad/monster/serial killer? Ok that was a lot sorry take your time answering with this one, I hope you make it for the stream! <333
oh my god that's actually so cool I'm so happy it gave you that image because that's definitely the vibe I was going for!! That unsettling, semi-real but somehow also dreamy feel that's just very chaotic and panicky. Thank you so much, that really means everything <3
I have some ideas but I'm still unsure as to whether I would write a novel or try to script a TV show. I have a couple of ideas and they're all horror based (of course) but not entirely fleshed out.
The one I have the most work done on is set in a retro-futuristic/cassette futurism vibe world where a young girl is infected with a parasite (that works effectively as a possession) and has to find a way to 'cure' herself when no one else wants to help/doesn't believe it's possible to do so. It's very gory and body horror-esque. I'm teaching myself to draw so I can create visuals to go with it and maybe one day find people who might want to collab on a pitch. The premise revolves around understanding our own behaviours and emotions, and how we can learn to grow as people while still being loved for who we are..... But also it's disgusting and bloody and has a lot of other themes lol. Hopefully one day I'll get to make it.
I think they'd both do pretty well in all of them.
I can see Ford reading from the Book of the Dead in Evil Dead and summoning the ancients, but fairing reasonably well against them. They'd be a tough fight, though. I've said before about how I think Stan and Ash would totally get on, and if Ford doesn't succumb to curiosity and read the book's incantation aloud, I can imagine Ash and Stan getting wasted and doing it for shits and giggles. That's how Ash kicks off the events in the TV Series haha.
Stan I think would be great in any slow-moving zombie horror. We've seen him hold his own very well. Fast moving zombies (28 Days Later etc) would fuck up his back though, I can see that pissing him off LMAO
I can definitely see them teaming up to defeat a Cabin in the Woods event. The departments would haaaaate them both so much for being so competent haha!
Because a lot of the horror I watch is so fucking G R I M, the silly aspect of them getting out alive is lessened because in my favourite movies, no one makes it out alive and if they do, they'd rather be dead.....
I do think a Hereditary situation would play out wonderfully for Stan and Ford. Not in the 'they'd kick ass!' kind of way, but in the beautifully tragic, morbid 'no one gets out alive' way.
The themes of the movie deal heavily with the inherited grief and trauma that comes from a parent and from abuse or loss, and so it would fit them well. I'm still shocked no one has ever done a redraw of the Paimon/Reborn scene with Ford, Bill and Stan. Maybe they have, but I've never seen it and I think it would be very cool.
#asks#i just really like the 'reborn' piece on the hereditary OST and it should be used in more animations bc fuck it's so terrifying
