Just added two scoops of preworkout and creatine to my protein smoothie where I also blended up the vitamins I missed yesterday, which is very Bruce Wayne core.
But it does make me think ā€” Iā€™ve seen debate on here about how someone with Bruceā€™s physique could survive on just smoothies/juices, so Iā€™m here to tell you.
-fruits/vegetables for micronutrients and fiber are blended up
-anywhere from 60-100g of protein in each serving (thereā€™s some debate as to how much the body can actually absorb in one sitting)
-two scoops creatine / other supplements (these are a fine powder and disappear into whatever you mix them in)
-multiple scoops of whey based protein powder (optimal type for muscle recovery)
-full fat Greek yogurt for protein and live cultures, and for calories
-liquid or powdered multivitamins
-liquid or powdered greens, other medications, more caffeine powder if needed
Between the massive protein load, caffeine from the preworkout, and nutrients from the other items, youā€™re looking at a 1) high calorie 2) nutritionally optimized 3) shake/smoothie that can be consumed in one sitting. It might even taste good, too.
I imagine you could make this anywhere from 600-1000 calories, depending on which ingredients you use. So yes, theoretically someone of Bruceā€™s bulk and activity level could survive on a few of these a day.

Begging for a chance to play hairdresser for the seniors going to their house parties and formals, knowing she'd get a chance to run her hands through strands of copper and rust, and drown in the sweet scent of strawberry shampoo.
Gwyn, all smiles and bubbly laughter, freckles and sunlight would hug her. Nothing like her sister's awkward one armed embraces, these were hugs that warmed her from the inside out.
And when Nesta's gang would stumble into the night in a haze of vodka and Victoria Secret bodyspray, Gwyn would always turn back to wave at Feyre, a secret smile and flutter of manicured nails that would sustain that hidden part of her until their next encounter.

Bolstered by that one small sound and the insatiable need to show Gwyn exactly how much she's grown from that awkward gangly freshman Feyre takes her sweet time letting go.
It wouldn't make sense when Gwyn fits so well in her toned arms. It is Gwyn who finally disentangles herself, but stays standing far too close to Feyre for polite company, so that the constellations of freckles that smatter her pretty upturned nose almost overwhelm the power of her gaze.
'I..I..haven't seen you around.'
Gwyn stutters, gaze fixed on Feyreā€™s mouth before she blinks and studies the tiled floor like it contains the meaning of life.
'I live off-campus.'
Feyre shrugs lazily, pathetically hoping Gwyn notices her traps as she moves. It was chest and back day today after all.
'Nesta mentioned you're living in that PhD accomodation on campus right, little G.'
That gets Gwyn's attention, her head darting indignantly up before she laughs at the teasing grin plastered on Feyreā€™s face.
'Yes I am, you brat.'
Her lip is being worried by her sharp teeth again, a job Feyre would happily volunteer to do.

The words come out more gruff than the light and casual Feyre was aiming for.

The Harvest is in the Freezer, and life is a process.

This is 3/4 of this years Wild Berry Juice, we make 12 gallons a year and ferment about two fluid ounces a day in our Kefir ( yogurt ).

It makes the Polyphenols more available by cutting them into smaller bits and binding them to peptides that are cut from the milk protein.
We started picking in July when the Mahonia aquifolium aka Oregon Grape began ripening. Spring was early but Summer was a bit late here. When we had cleaned out most of the Oregon Grape we went to the coast for Gaultheria Shallon aka Salal Berry. I don't know that you can ever get enough Salal, but as the Black Berries started coming on we grabbed as many Blackberries as we could before a much needed rain ruined the rest to the crop. By then Vaccinum Ovatum aka Evergreen Huckleberry was on out at the coast. Besides picking this berry for Juice we also pick it for cooking goodies and garnishing this and that and salads too.

It is a fiddling lot of work to clean for cooking. You have to destem about 2/3 of the harvest That bucket full can take two people working together three days to clean. Don't worry about the leaves and green berries. The leaves are collected for Tea, It is almost as good for you as the berries, and the green berries will ripen off the vine when left out doors in good light.

We also cut our local Sambucus aka Elderberry. The glove is more about the brush I'm working in rather than the Elderberry it's self which is thornless on its own.

When Iā€™m feeling depressed, it can be nearly impossible to take care of myself, and that includes eating. Hereā€™s a list of some foods that require little to no effort (aka: can be eaten right out of the package or just need to be microwaved), mainly for my personal reference, but also so others can find easier alternatives when theyā€™re struggling.
Water bottles or canned water - stay hydrated!!
vegetables - green beans, peas, corn, black/kidney/pinto beans, chickpeas (all canned or microwaveable frozen bags) - Iā€™ve also tried Harvest Snaps, which are baked snap peas & theyā€™re v good
Fruit - grapes, raisins (or any other dried fruit like apricots/dates), mandarin oranges, apples, applesauce cups, bananas, pears, peaches, etc. (most fruits require no prep anyway, but especially if theyā€™re canned - you can also buy frozen bags)
Canned soup or chicken, beef, or veggie broth
Pasta (ramen, spaghetti, mac and cheese, chow mein) or instant rice are my go-tos. You can buy these in individual cups or bulk packs.
Any microwaveable food - frozen/tv dinners, burritos, toaster strudels (they make an egg bacon & cheese version too!), mini pizzas, breakfast sandwichesā€¦ thereā€™s a lot you could do here :)
Dairy - Yogurt, cheese sticks, (or just straight up eat cheese slices, there are no rules here), cottage cheese, almond/oat/soy milk, powdered milk (if you want something shelf-stable)
Grains & carbs - cereal, crackers, chips, popcorn, toast or bagels (Iā€™ve eaten plain bread before tbh and it kinda slaps), Oatmeal (these packets are dinosaur themed & have little sugar eggs!! - https://www.quakeroats.com/products/hot-cereals/instant-oatmeal/dinosaur-eggs)
Nuts - peanuts, peanut butter, almonds, cashews, walnuts, trail mix, etc.
Meat - deli turkey, trail bologna, spam, jerky, frozen chicken strips or nuggets, Morningstar vegetarian corn dogs, canned tuna
Eggs
Fast food or take-out is also a good option if you donā€™t feel like making anything yourself.
A little tip - most foods you would take on a camping or hiking trip are great! for some, all you need to do is add water & heat it up. they are usually on the expensive side, though!! hereā€™s some Iā€™ve found that are decent:

Things to keep on hand for particularly bad days:
ā Boost/ensure/Soylent - liquid meals for when the idea of chewing or mixing anything is too much.
ā disposable cutlery/bowls/utensils so you donā€™t have more dishes to worry about.
Multivitamins
Liquid IV, Gatorade, or some other form of electrolytes. Itā€™s too easy to get dehydrated!
If you do have a little energy to cook or make something, hereā€™s some ideas:
If you have a blender: frozen spinach + frozen banana + shelf stable almond milk + peanut butter makes a great smoothie.
frozen fruit + frozen spinach/kale for smoothies
Adding whey protein makes it more filling.
ā dried pasta + jarred pasta sauce (Raoā€™s is low sugar and awesome, but pricey) + frozen meatballs
Boil tortellini on hand. Its as easy as boiling water. You can eat it plain, add a spoonful of pesto, sprinkle with a little olive oil or butter and some garlic salt, or pour it back in the pan after draining and add a little pasta sauce
ā frozen fried rice + frozen stir fry veggies
ā favorite frozen protein and veggies for sheet pan meals
ā canned refried beans with a tortilla and some cheese to microwave, can add extra toppings too
ā oatmeal + pb + dried fruit of choice
ā rice cakes + pb + jam (or substitute bread if you have it)
Rotisserie chicken in a salad, soup, sandwich or wrap
Frozen salmon with some veggies
air fryer foods - chicken nuggets, tenders, fries, etc. You can also toss different vegetables (baby carrots, Brussels sprouts, etc.) in a little olive oil and throw them in there
chicken broth & frozen dumplings - you can dress it up a little with some miso, soy sauce or other seasonings. You could also add some frozen vegetables.
snack type food - a combination of canned Garbanzo beans and black olives. The olives are salty enough that you can get low sodium beans and it will still taste good.

I typed in ā€œhighest protein foods everā€ and ā€” aside from whey protein and other things like fresh haddock and pollock which are extremely expensive ā€” it turns out tuna has the highest protein content per calorie, followed somewhat closely by chicken breast. It looks like oats and brown rice have a decent amount of protein as well so Iā€™ll have to get some in bulk.
So I went to Aldi (Iā€™m from America and we have Aldi Sud, which is different than Aldi Nord; Aldi Nord is on the boycott list) and purchased six cans of albacore tuna, one can of chicken breast, two cans of French-style green beans, two cans of potatoes, and one can of carrots. I also purchased two dozen eggs (in cardboard; not styrofoam, of course) and a giant container of vinegar for use as a multipurpose cleaner and laundry detergent which will probably last me at least half a year.
$18.85 hell yeah AND I didnā€™t break the eggs on the way home despite getting irritated with the stupid ā€œpress to crossā€ button because it DOESNā€™T FUCKING WORK and basically rushing in front of a car because I wasnā€™t about to wait for it to turn when it didnā€™t turn last time after two full cycles. I knew I could make it if I swerved left a little and I did. I didnā€™t get hit. Iā€™m not dead. This is not my ghost speaking. It didnā€™t faze me at all; I know the driver is probably shaken though. Sorry, man.
Once I get the brown rice I can make tuna and vegetable stir fry with an egg scrambled in. Iā€™m sure my neighbors will appreciate the smell SJDBJDJDNDNDJDJNDNSNSN thatā€™s what they get for making the heat vents smell like weed. Tuna attack. Suck it. Iā€™ll need to ride my bike for 45 minutes straight over ā€œgentle hillsā€ (gentle my ASS) soon so Iā€™ll cook that meal the night prior and have it for breakfast. I have a small can of orange soda I saved from the staff break room when we had treats, which I will take with me in case I need sugar on the road.

The webbing between my thumbs and forefingers feels raw from rubbing on the handlebars all the time
Riding into a strong gust of wind IS THE LITERAL DEVIL

There's no actual chocolate in it. And not even in a white chocolate way, where there's cocoa butter but no cocoa powder and cocoa solids. There's no cocoa anything, meaning it's not chocolate. Which works for me because cocoa powder and solids give me vomiting migraines (the cocoa butter in white chocolate is fine), and it bypasses the ethics of supporting the consumption of slave-made chocolate, but. I'm baffled
In the U.S this would have to be called something like "chok'lit drink" or something. It's why we have "cheez" or "kreme", because they can't legally be called cheese or cream given their ingredients and/or formulation, or vegan foods are called "chik'n" and the like. There's even a push by the dairy industry to ban the marketing and calling of calling plant-based milk, "milk". And I know the E.U is even more anal about food designations. Theta and I were in disbelief that it didn't have any cocoa anything in it last night. Out of six different packets, only one of them had actual cocoa product in it.
(Also I drank my "hot chocolate" already, but one thing it was honest about was that it actually did turn my milk green.)

Another update, hopefully less bleak than the last one.
So on Wednesday I broke down in front of my chiropractor telling him what's going on with me. I apologized for breaking down and he said it's okay, he knows that blood sugar dropping can make a person very emotional. He was surprised to hear that I'd had a green smoothie consisting of whey protein powder, a cup of mixed greens, a ripe banana, and a cup of oat milk immediately before coming to the appointment and not even an hour later I already felt famished like I hadn't had anything all day, but he suggested that getting more fats in my diet might help me hold onto my food longer and keep my blood sugar at a reasonable level longer, so I should be consuming more butter, nut butters, avocado, coconut oil, etc. Putting peanut butter or avocado in my green smoothies, having avocado on whole grain toast like the millennial I am, and I think I'll go back to the special way I was making coffee a while back that involved heavy cream and MCT oil powder. I'll post how I do that in a separate post. I also mentioned to him that I was seriously considering purchasing liver and bones from the butcher shop to get more protein and iron in my system, and he approved of that idea as well.
After my husband picked me up from my appointment, we got food from our favorite local Chinese restaurant, and the orange chicken, fried rice, egg roll, and crab rangoon actually lasted longer in my system and kept me stable longer than anything else I'd had in the last week or two. Lots of fat in all that Chinese food. It was great. The chef seemed to have gotten a little enthusiastic with the spiciness of the orange chicken but I definitely wasn't complaining.
The next day I made a green smoothie and added a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter and that did help it to stay in my system a little longer, but it didn't have enough sugar since I only had half a banana to put in it.
So I'm thinking when we go grocery shopping this weekend, I'll get extra bananas, maybe apples, avocados, some whole grain bread, two jars of peanut butter, and heavy cream along with our usual items. And when we go to the butcher shop I'll see how much liver costs, I already know bones are sold at a reasonable price, and I'll ask the butcher if he can recommend how best to cook the liver, and if I can put it in the slow cooker.
I did more googling and found that low blood sugar isn't uncommon in people who have fibromyalgia, so I'll send my rheumatologist a message and ask about that.
Things are looking less hopeless, and it looks like I have some solutions almost within reach. Just have to make the grocery trip tomorrow.
Right now I feel my blood sugar dropping, so I think I'll go try to make something to eat. I had a bowl of greens loaded with butter, garlic, and salt pork earlier and it was very good and lasted a while but now I need more food. Might cook some more greens and see if I can make some mashed potatoes as well because I might need carbs. Might even cook the rest of the bacon we got from the butcher shop last week since I'm sure it needs to be cooked asap. Hopefully I can stand up long enough to cook. I'm in a lot of pain rn that's going to make being on my feet difficult.
