I'm up to the clone chip conspiracy arc.
I am definitely not ready for this.
It doesn't matter what happens, Fives is doomed to fail.
Time for all of the emotional devastation, all over again.
Is this arc usually called the clone chip conspiracy arc? Is there another name that it's known by?
Yes, I'm procrastinating and putting off starting watching this arc. How could you tell?
I just want the clones to be happy for once.

i've seen this thought circling around of twitter and here, in different variations, but it's still the same: don't hate alicent, she isn't a traitor, she doesn't try to have anyone actively killed. she just hates war, is desperate and doesn't know what to do.
ok, i get what you are saying but you are missing the point that she should know better. even if i completely forget book!alicent, who is totally different character, at this point, show!alicent should know that this entire trip to rhaenyra is pointless. nor aegon or aemond would bend their knees. aegon because he is convinced that rhaenyra killed his son and aemond because he just doesn't feel like it. and she also knows that rhaenyra cannot let any of her sons live. she currently raised army of bastards, which alicent knows about, all with dragons and possible claims to the throne. jace himself is a bastard and again - everyone knows! alicent's "you are challenge, aegon, just by living and breathing!" wasn't hyperbole. aegon, aemond and daeron all have to die for rhaenyra to win. otto, criston and gwayne would stand trial for treason and (at best!!!!!!!) they'd be send to the wall. alicent knows all of this, she doesn't let us forget how skilled in ruling she is when viserys was incapable.
(most) people don't hate alicent because now she is some kind of evil traitor. they hate that condal wrote her to be stupid. in her years of living in the court and mingling with royalty, being the queen, the queen mother etc. she has no business to be naive. she is acting reckless, stupid and foolish and those are not alicent's character traits.

Wayne Family Adventures literally had 2 entire seasons worth of healthy dad Bruce who sits down and talks with his kids. He brought Jason down from a nervous breakdown. He got Damian a dog. He told Tim that it's Batman who looks out for Robin. He felt incredible guilt over missing even one of Cass' recitals. He plays with the kids, he takes care of them, he talks with them about family and what they mean to him. He puts in the work.
And yet we still have people coming out of the woodworks to claim that being an asshole is "integral to his character" the one time he says fuckshit to the kids.
Look I came from from multiple abusive households (yeah that's right I'm pulling this card). I know what that looks like. This ain't it. What Bruce said is fucked up, no doubt about it. But this is after potentially years of kindness and heartfelt discussions. Saying something fucked after all that healthy behavior isn't abuse, it's a call for help. And that's what the kids are trying to do. He's scared. He even admitted to Damian that none of it matters as long as they're safe.
This arc isn't to point and go "oh look at how horrible Batman is and how he treats his family". It's showing how grief and trauma can twist the people you love into something that hurts, and the effort and pain needed on both sides to fix that (like in the Jason episode, how he lost control and almost hurt Dick and then told them to take care of Bruce). Keeping this idea that violence and abuse is integral to Batman and his relationships is the same mentality that has kept main timeline Bruce in that behavior for the last god-knows-how-long.

Thinking about how, at the end of the day, at the fatal moment, the sunset of the Republic, it wasn’t Yoda, or Obi-Wan, or even the Chosen One himself standing in the way of Palpatine. It was Mace Windu.
Mace Windu, the inventor of Vaapad and Master of Form VII, the Jedi's strongest duelist, the only person to ever defeat Palpatine in combat. Mace Windu, Master of the Jedi Council and the youngest Master ever appointed to it, the revered leader of the Order. Mace Windu, who forgave even those who tried to kill him, who risked his life over and over again for his troops, who, after 3 years of desperate war, tried to negotiate with battle droids. Mace Windu, who knew the clones were created by the Sith and chose to trust them, who saw every Shatterpoint in the Republic, and loved it still, and fought for it until his last breath, until he was betrayed by Anakin, who he believed in and trusted despite everything.
Mace Windu, High General and hero of the Republic, the embodiment of the Light, the last and greatest champion of the Order, the best Jedi to ever live.
