3x03 Mei: "So wait, how did you get your gold vision back again?" MK: "I don't know! The same way I got them in the first place I guess. Every time I learned a new ability, it was because there was something I NEEDED to do, when there was no other way. Against the gold fish guy I NEEDED to do something to save my friends!" 3x10 MK: "NO! Mei is my best friend, I’d never abandon her when she needs me. We’re heroes! It’s what we do!",
3x14 MK: "A perfect world is what you make it. So as long as I have my friends by my side...this world! Is! Perfect!”
4x01 MK: "Honestly? I’m kinda liking the world as it is, right now. So...if it could just stay like this, forever? That would be awesome." SWK: "Yeah well...forever’s a long time bud...trust me."
4x02 AL: "It’s too late to save them! We can’t risk unleashing the curse into the world." MK: “You don’t know! We’d risk it for sure! I won’t abandon them when they need us."
4x07 IMK: "You can see it, can't you? This is your fate. Your friends will turn on you, seeing you for the monster you will become. They will destroy you, harbinger of chaos."

Give me insecure Irondad! Lemme set the scene:
Happy calls Peter just as class gets out, tells him to meet him at the back exit to get picked up. As they drive off, Peter notices a crowd of reporters out front. Happy explains that someone leaked the fact that Peter is Tony’s personal intern and the press managed to track down Peter’s personal details. May has already been taken to the tower and is waiting for them.
Tony and Pepper sic their lawyers on the press and eventually, things calm down. Peter and May go back to their apartment and things move on, only Tony can’t stop thinking about it. About how this only happened because of him, because one of his staff snitched, because of his fame and his money. How Peter would be better off without him. And Peter’s a genius, so obviously he’s figured this out by now too, and Tony can just see it all.
He can see Peter dipping out of their hangout more and more often. No more movie nights, no more working on Tony’s cars or building Lego sets, no more casual bonding time. After that, Peter will start to cancel their lab days too, first once a week, then twice, then he’ll tell Tony he’s taken an internship at Oscorp or Hammertech, somewhere he knows Tony’s influence can’t keep destroying his life. And Tony will let him go, because he knows it’s for the best. He knows he doesn’t deserve Peter, never has and never will.
But still, Tony is selfish. Tony is so selfish that he’ll do anything to make Peter stay. So he starts doing more dangerous, more ‘cool’ things in the lab with Peter, starts giving him more ridiculous upgrades for his suit and web shooters, even buys him a car and lets the him take a joyride in an Iron Man suit in the same day. And that’s when Peter stops enjoying himself and really notices that something is wrong with his father figure mentor.
Because from an outsider perspective, Tony isn’t doing well. Now that Peter’s really paying attention, he notices that Tony’s eye bags are worse than ever, that he’s gotten thinner. And Peter, because he’s a genius, connects the dots and traces this all back to the PR freakout. He doesn’t quite put everything together, though, until one night when he accidentally leaves his homework in the lab and comes back for it, and his super-hearing overhears a sleep deprived (and maybe drunk) Tony talking to DUM-E or FRIDAY about how he’s going to miss Peter so much when he finally decides that Tony’s more trouble than he’s worth.
Peter comes back to the lab, hugs Tony and says “I’m not going anywhere.” Cue Tony having the full on breakdown that’s been coming, passing out and waking up in the medbay to a ticked off (and concerned) Pep and Rhodey and a Spiderkid who’s practically bouncing off the walls with nerves. Cue a chewing out from Pep and Rhodey, followed by Peter being like “I meant what I said, I’m not leaving no matter how much trouble you are, wanna know why?”
And Tony’s like “Lay it on me” but inside he’s like ‘it’s probably the money, but that’s okay. If that’s what it takes to make him stay at least I get to have this amazing kid in my life’.
And Peter’s like “My dad died when I was little, and Ben, well, he was an amazing uncle, the best, and he was more than that. He raised me, but then he died too. It was just me and May, but then you started mentoring me and I guess I started to see you filling that hole. I really look up to you, and well, I guess what I’m saying is you’re way more than a mentor to me, I mean, if you wanna be. I’m sticking around as long as you’ll have me, Mr. Stark.”
And damnit, Tony just woke up and he’s crying again. Peter’s been way more than a mentee too, but Tony didn’t want to weird the kid out and risk pushing him away. Now that he knows Peter feels the same though…
“Get over here Roos,” he says, and Peter gingerly curls up next to him in the medbay bed, and if FRIDAY takes pictures and sends them to Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, and May, then no one has to know.

Could you do David 'Deacon' Kay with wife reader? They always knew what to do if Deac died but they didn't prepare for her. Kinda like Annie when she was sick. Angst but ending with fluff. Thanks!! :))
Title : "in sickness & in health"
Warnings : hospitals, Reader gets sick, worried Deac, angst with a happy ending,
Summary : You both prepared for what would happen if Deacon died or got sick- but you never planned for what would happen if you were the one to get sick.
A/n : I originally planned for this to have more angst, but I changed my mind halfway 😭 anyway I hope this is what you had in mind and thank you for the request !!
Word count : 616
masterlist
It was just a normal day. Deacon went to work, the kids went to school & preschool. So you were all alone at home.
You cleaned the house up a little since the kids left a mess in the living room after playing with Legos the previous night. You felt slightly off when you woke up but you just brushed it off thinking it was just the nerves at the thought of your husband getting hurt on the job.
After a while you decided to go visit David at work, since you had nothing else to do. That feeling of something being wrong never went away…
Maybe something was seriously wrong.
After parking in front of the SWAT HQ you got out grabbing your bag and walking towards the front entrance. Even if Deacon was probably out somewhere on call you thought it would maybe be nice if you just popped in to say hello. Walking past security the feeling got much much worse. Something was really wrong.
-
And then it all went black, you collapsed onto the floor unconscious. The next thing you could remember was waking up in the hospital with David sitting next to you. He was holding his head in his hand and he was crying. Slowly reaching out, you grabbed his hand squeezing it twice. He immediately looked up in relief since you were finally awake.
“You’re finally awake.” He muttered while standing up and brushing the hair out of your face. “How do you feel?” Deacon questioned you with a worried look on his face. “I feel fine, just a bit tired.” You replied with a tired smile.
Just as Deacon was about to speak the door opened and your three kids ran into the hospital room screaming “MOM!” You just smiled at them while your middle child - Lila ran up to the bed and immediately grabbed your hand while asking you a million questions at once. “Easy Lila, your mom just woke up. So let’s calm down and give her some space okay?”
You just smiled at her while patting the bed next to you, inviting her to sit down next to you. As soon as Lila had climbed onto the bed you pulled her into your lap squeezing her tightly and kissing her forehead. Then your boys slowly approached the hospital bed, upon seeing them you invited them to sit next to you and Lila. Matthew & Samuel immediately took you up on your offer and clambered up onto the bed and sat down next to you, snuggling up to you.
Deacon smiled at the sight of you laying in the hospital bed, with your kids curled up next to you. “I love you mom.” Matthew stated softly while clinging onto you tightly, despite being the oldest Matthew was still very clingy to you. Not that he’d ever admit it outright but it was very obvious.
Everyone knew a health scare like this could lead to serious consequences but it turned out to just be a bad case of the flu. So you had to stay in the hospital for a few days and Deacon never left your side. Your kids would go to school as normal despite their protests that they want to stay with you.
Deacon had made a deal with all three of them that if they went to school as normal he’d buy them ice cream and then they could come visit you in the hospital until it was bedtime and they had to go home and sleep. The kids would always light up as soon as they saw you, while telling you about their days at school and if they had made any new friends.

We talk about how mischaracterized Hobie is - which he is - but I honestly think someone else is characterized REALLY weirdly by fandom
Miguel O'Hara and Misrepresentation of His Rage: a.k.a Miguel has Ken Energy you fools
[this is a breakdown where I examine Miguel's trauma, his relationship with Miles, his role in The Society, and his personality]
I talk a lot of shit about the Hobie tag, but the over-saturation of smut in the Miguel tag is at critical mass.
And like Latino-fetishization aside, I feel like he's not written as a human.
He's written so flat.
I swear ya'll be writing him as the angriest, coldest, most anti-social man on earth. Ya'll be having him rude and avoidant with no friends whatsoever or a romantic soft latin lover and NO IN BETWEEN
which is so funny cause like... I feel like Miguel is Just A Guy
I know they're easy to overlook but I think about moments like these all the time
But I ALWAYS see him written him as friendless, and cold, or constantly irritated and angry but like - I feel like most of the time Miguel is just some dude. Like in a Good Way.
And he's fine with that.
Miguel runs a Society Full of Spider-people, and they're working for him voluntarily. Peter Parkers wouldn't work for someone they didn't think was genuinely, good-likeable, and level-headed.
He compliments Lego-Spider-Man. When Hobie was there he wasn't pissed he was just like 'not in the mood rn ngl'
and Hobie didn't take the piss outta him - because I feel like him and Hobie have a mutal understanding/relaxed relationship. All throughout the movie Hobie isn't talking bad about Miguel in specific - he never says anything about Miguel being annoying or evil - he's always taking about The Society Miguel has made.
Even Hobie - who will openly talk bad about the PM, doesn't really feel the need to diss Miguel's character in specific. Which I find very interesting.
I think this, along with a couple other things shows that the way we view Miguel in fandom is not really how he is, like..when he's not going buckwild insane.
Miguel and His Role as Canon
I could see Miguel taking his role as boss very seriously - the same way he took being a father.
Miguel has assumed the role of 'leader' over these Spider-people. In his eyes, it's his job to lead these people through their canon events to the other side, for the safety of the universe, and for them to become the people fate says they're supposed to be.
Because he made the mistake of 'going against fate'. A lot of the time we say that Miguel's justification is 'because I suffered, you must too'. But in his eyes, it's more like 'I tried to run from who I was supposed to be and it blew up in my face. Please don't make the same mistake - it's not worth it.'
Quiet literally 'Do what you're supposed to do, and things won't fall apart around you.'
And I think that really says a lot about how he feels about his own choices, and his own daughter.
Miguel broke canon to be with his daughter, and because of that, she - and billions of others, died. And Miguel feels directly responsible for that. In his eyes, he killed his daughter and murdered billions of people.
And although he loves his daughter - he sees it as not worth it. He sees taking her father's place as a mistake.
To Miguel, canon events and the pain they cause are much more 'worth it' and 'tolerable', than the pain and guilt of killing an entire universe.
Because with canon events, there is no fault. It's not your fault you couldn't catch Gwen Stacy. It's not that you're not fast enough, it's that it's suppose to happen. It's not your fault.
But in Miguel's case - it was his fault. It wasn't suppose to happen.
That's why Miles sets him off in a way others don't and can't. Because he wasn't supposed to happen.
When things are under control, Miguel is fine. When things aren't, Miguel isn't.
Miguel needs order. He needs canon. Not because he likes it, but because he feels beaten into submission by it. He feels safe in the idea that canon events happen even if you do everything right, because he still feels the guilt of having done something 'wrong'.
That's why he sees letting people die in canon events as 'the right thing'.
It's the trolley problem.
A trolley is hurtling at someone you love, on the other track there are 5 people. Do you let the one you love die, or do you hit the switch and save them - and take the blame for killing five people?
What's the right thing to do? Save your captain father and letting a universe die? Or letting your father die, but the universe will for sure live.
Miguel has already made his choice, even if he didn't know it at the time. By becoming a father, Miguel hit the switch. And he chose his daughter at the expense of a universe. And he regrets that decision. He feels guilt, like he's to blame.
When canon events happen, there's no one to blame. When anomalies happen, there is.
Miles and Miguel
Miles and Miguel have an interesting and unique dynamic with each other, one that I haven't seen anyone mention yet.
When I look at Miles and Miguel, especially in this scene:
I kinda see Miguel and a past version of himself. Miguel trying to stop what he sees - as someone about to make the same mistake he did.
When Miguel met his daughter, he didn't know about it's threat to the multiverse. And although it might be described as the best time in Miguel's life, he regrets it. If he would go back, he would have rather let his daughter live. Fatherless, but at least she would have lived.
Miguel didn't know. But Miles does. And that's what makes Miguel so furious.
Miles is going to go against canon, be with his dad, and threaten the multiverse. And Miguel believes that if Miles does this, billions of people and beings across a universe will die. 100% totality rate, 100% assured.
Miles is in the same position as Miguel once was. Miles has the same choice. To choose the one he loves over canon.
The only difference is Miles knows. He has a chance.
Miguel believes that Miles can spare himself the pain, and the guilt of murdering billions - if he just listened to him.
Miguel is the only Spider-person who has ever killed a Spider-verse. And he doesn't want that for Miles.
Miles being an anomaly was one thing. He was ready to calmly talk about that. But when Miguel sees him going down the same road as he once did, making the same choice even though Miguel is telling him not to - it makes it snap.
Because if Miguel could go back, knowing what he knows - if Miguel could only be in Miles' place - he wouldn't. Like Rio said - Miguel would kill to be in his place.
He sees Miguel like how Rio describes herself, oddly enough. Rio says she'd kill to be in Miles place, and she doesn't understand his 'irresponsible' behavior. But unbeknownst to her - his 'irresponsible' behavior is more heroic than she can understand.
Miguel is just the same. He sees Miles' choice as irresponsible, that he's making all the wrong choices even though people are throwing opportunity at him.
Miles is the only other Spider-person to risk what Miguel risked. And, genuinely believing everyone will die because of this - he's furious at Miles, the same way he's still furious at himself. He loved his daughter, and he knows Miles loves it dad. But having been on the other side of it all, he sees it as not worth it.
Miguel wants to be the only Spider-man who is the way he is. He doesn't want to Miles to do what he did, become what he is. Because he knows theres no coming back from that.
If Miguel could go back and shake himself and scream in his face to leave Gabriella alone, to just leave her dimension alone, he would. But he can't.
So he does it to Miles.
Miguel as a Boss
I don't think Miguel is an outright mean or abrasive person. I feel like outside of Miles, he's fairly calm, albeit a bit stressed. I could see him being really organized and good at time management -
And I can see Miguel being good with people. I don't think he's the kinda boss that'd be like 'Oh, you had a canon event last night? Your girlfriend fell off a building? Yeah, we get that a lot, get over it.'
And if anything - I think he'd want to help the Spider-people when it comes to processing canon events.
Miguel believes that canon events are necessary, not just to the multiverse, but to the development of who Spider-people are 'supposed' to be. So I think he'd set up support systems around HQ to help them process it, and he'd at least be a bit understanding.
I could absolutely see Miguel as the type to ask a teammate "Are you alright?" after something intense, or telling them to sit out. I could see him giving generous leave for Spiders who are going through stuff.
By Jess's response, it seems as if he leaves most of that to her, but I feel like the fact he stops to tell Gwen "Don't worry, kid." shows that he's use to comforting people, or prioritizes putting people at ease.
I mean, what Spider-man doesn't?
Miguel does seem to get along with people (aside from Miles and Gwen when he's scolding her), and it seems like people do like Miguel.
Miguel's Personality
Tbh - I don't think he's nearly as angry as fandom makes him out to be.
He was raising a child. I imagine that for the most part, he's pretty patient.
Like if you call him a name, he's not gonna get pissed. I feel like he's more likely to be like "Haha. Very funny." Or just pinch his nose bridge and be like "You done?"
I mean I know with all the gnashing and clawing and yelling and going apeshit, it can be easy to imagine Miguel as JUST that.
But I also like to imagine that most of the time, he's just like that normal boss as Target.
And a lot of his day is spent doing boring mundane things.
He's not always standing there brooding over videos of him and his dead daughter. He only does that when he's psyching himself up to yell at Miles.
Outside of that, he probably has a lot more things to do, realistically speaking. Organizing missions, checking status reports, looking over intake forms of anomalies, okaying and vetoing different protocols. Approving new technology, taking complaints from members, dealing with Hobie (an extra job in its own right), fixing things MayDay breaks, etc, etc.
And he's completely fine with that. Maybe he even finds calmness in it. When there's order, and routine, and everyone is working together and there's no kinks in the hose per say, he can operate.
Like yeah he's a little irritated and looks like he only slept 4 hours - but he's here and he's going to work with his team and employees, make sure things run smoothly, and make sure everyone gets home safe.
He's gonna try and make the society a nice place to be and make sure people on the team (like Lego) feel appreciated and odd-one-outs like Hobie get to hang and do what they want without much kickback.
The other Spider-people - like Pavi - wouldn't have joined otherwise.
If Pavi had showed up and Miguel was all stern and cold and rude, he probably would've been like 'no thanks my friend'
Miguel knew Peter B. before he lost Gabriella. So he had to become friends with Peter some way. He was putting up with Peter and his humor by choice, and in return Peter must have found Miguel cool enough to hang out with.
I think it's because Miguel is good with people, a lot of different types of people.
He's pretty down to earth, even if he is a work-aholic. He can be fun to chill or hang out with, even if he's a bit of a tight-ass.
Sure his humor may be dry, and his personality tame, but he's just him.
But I can see him as being a guy who you see at the gym routinely and never say hi to but you just nod at each other in silent respect while doing your workouts sometime.
Or the dude at your job you only see at the coffee machine - you know he does other stuff, but you never run into him anywhere else.
Or the dude who'll stop on the street when you ask for the time and lift one earphone before telling you it, then walking away without another word.
DO YOU GET WHAT I MEAN DO YOU GET THAT VIBE Like just Dude He's like a dad but not like a 'Dad vibe' with like sneakers or anything but like 'Dad who comes to PTA meeting but doesn't talk to anybody and quietly leaves when it's over'.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU UNDERSTAND THIS VIBE It's giving Ken.
Anyways stop avoiding Miguel's Kenergy.

CHAPTER Ⅷ: Clowning Around
trope: fem!9th skz member warnings: angst, drama, insecure oc, cyber bullying, slow burn pairings: hyunjinxfem!oc prev|next

THE SHRIEK OF THE SMOKE ALARM jolted Iseul upright. Her heart slammed against her ribs as she blinked blearily at the ceiling, disoriented.
Then came the shouting.
“YAH, FELIX! TURN IT OFF!”
“I DIDN’T MEAN TO! I WAS JUST— I WAS MAKING EGGS—”
“HOW DO YOU BURN EGGS?!”
From somewhere down the hall, Jeongin’s voice cut through, slightly muffled but alarmed. “Uh, guys? I think I’m stuck.”
Silence.
Then Minho’s deadpan voice. “Stuck where?”
“…The bathroom.”
There was a loud bang, followed by a dramatic wail. “THAT’S IT. I QUIT THE GROUP.”
Iseul sighed, running a hand over her face. Hyunjin.
She forced herself out of bed, slipping out into the hallway just as Chan stormed past, looking like he was two seconds away from actually quitting too. His hair was a mess, eyes still heavy with sleep, but the way his jaw clenched told her he was fully awake—whether he liked it or not.
She caught sight of Jisung, still curled up on the couch, mumbling half-formed song lyrics in his sleep. Meanwhile, Minho sat on the floor, lazily stretching, dark circles under his eyes. He looked completely unbothered by the absolute catastrophe unfolding around him.
“What happened?” Iseul asked, suppressing a laugh.
Changbin breezed past her, tossing an apron over his head like he was about to personally save the kitchen. “Felix tried to cook.”
“Correction,” Seungmin called from the doorway. “Felix failed to cook.”
“Guys,” Jeongin’s voice echoed from the laundry room. “I’m still stuck.”
Minho sighed, finally pushing himself up. “If I help you, will you stop screaming?”
“…No promises.”
Chan pinched the bridge of his nose like he was reconsidering all his life choices. "You know what? I don't care. Figure it out yourselves."
Hyunjin flopped onto the couch dramatically, clutching his foot. “No one’s even concerned that I almost died stepping on a Lego.”
"Hyunjin, I swear," Chan said, exhausted, "if you don't get up in the next five seconds—"
“Then what, Christopher? You’ll fire me?”
Chan inhaled sharply, his hands balled into fists. “You know what? Yeah. You’re fired. Congrats. Pack your things.”
"Great," Hyunjin groaned, flopping onto his back. "I didn't wanna be in this group anyway."
Iseul rolled her eyes, stepping around him on her way to the kitchen. Changbin was already at work, salvaging whatever was left of breakfast.
She lingered at the doorway, watching the boys move around each other in their usual, chaotic rhythm.
It was easy to get caught up in moments like this—to feel like she was really part of them.
But then there were moments when they, without meaning to, forgot she was there.
They made plans without telling her, rushing out the door in a flurry of noise, leaving Iseul standing in the hallway. Or they’d huddle together to review choreography, instinctively forming a circle she wasn’t always included in. It wasn’t malicious—just a habit they hadn’t broken yet.
Still, it stung.
She would force herself to shake it off, pretending it didn’t matter. But some nights, when the boys passed out in front of the TV or scattered into their rooms, Iseul stayed awake, staring at the ceiling, overthinking her place in the group.
The dorm was full, but her room felt empty.
“Did anyone actually get Jeongin out?” she asked, shaking herself out of her thoughts.
A brief pause.
“Oh, right.”
“GUYS.”
“I’m going, I’m going,” Minho muttered, disappearing down the hall.
Iseul chuckled, shaking her head as she leaned against the counter. Changbin turned absentmindedly, passing her a plate without looking, like it was second nature.
Like she belonged.
She hesitated only a second before taking it.
The dorm was too small. Too loud. Too chaotic.
It wasn’t built for nine people.
But slowly it was starting to feel like home.

The front door slammed open with a heavy thud, followed by the sluggish shuffle of eight exhausted bodies dragging themselves inside.
No one spoke. No one had the energy.
Felix collapsed onto the couch face-first with a dramatic groan. Hyunjin barely made it to the floor before dropping like a puppet with cut strings. Jisung leaned against the wall, eyes half-lidded as if he might just fall asleep standing up. Even Minho, usually composed, had his hands on his hips, breathing hard.
Chan was the last to enter, rubbing a hand down his face before shutting the door behind him. His hoodie was damp with sweat, his hair a mess, and his usual leader mode had been dulled by sheer exhaustion.
Iseul stepped aside as the boys trudged past her, feeling that familiar twinge again. The exhaustion was mutual, but somehow, she still felt a step behind—like she wasn’t weighed down by the same years of effort, the same unspoken understanding they shared.
No one really acknowledged her presence. Not on purpose. They were just too tired.
She trailed behind them into the living room, where Hyunjin was now sprawled across the floor, Felix had barely mustered the energy to kick off his shoes, and Jeongin sat slumped against the armrest, blinking dazedly at nothing.
“This comeback is gonna kill me,” Jisung mumbled, rubbing his face as he slumped next to Felix.
“Not if Chan hyung kills us first,” Seungmin muttered.
Chan made a vague noise of protest from the kitchen, where he was digging through the fridge for something—probably one of his weird energy drinks.
The comeback was creeping closer, and every day, their practice schedules had only gotten more intense. Rehearsals stretched late into the night, choreography revisions stacked up like a never-ending cycle, and the pressure to perfect every single detail weighed on all of them.
Then Minho clapped his hands once.
“Movie night.”
A chorus of groans followed.
“You’re kidding,” Hyunjin mumbled from the floor. “I physically cannot move.”
“Movie night,” Minho repeated, unbothered. “We need a break.”
Felix barely lifted his head from the couch. “Hyung, I think my soul left my body back at the practice room.”
“Good. Less complaining.” Minho nudged Hyunjin’s leg with his foot. “Get up.”
Hyunjin flopped onto his side. “No.”
Iseul blinked. “Do we even have the energy for a movie?”
“No,” Chan said immediately.
“Yes,” Minho said at the same time. He crossed his arms, giving everyone a pointed look. “Look, we’ll all just crash if we go to bed like this. You know what that means? Stiff muscles. Soreness. Regret.”
“We already regret existing,” Jisung muttered.
Minho ignored him. “A movie will help us relax. Besides,” he added, glancing at Iseul, “we should probably do things as a group more often.”
Iseul paused.
She knew what he meant. The past week had been… difficult. The boys weren’t being cruel, but they were used to being just eight. They didn’t always remember to include her, and she didn’t always know how to insert herself.
But now Minho was actively making sure she felt part of them.
She swallowed past the sudden warmth in her chest.
“I’m in,” she said.
Minho smirked. “See? Iseul gets it. The rest of you, get up.”
There was some more whining, but slowly, the boys started moving. Felix rolled onto his back, dramatically sighing before pushing himself up. Jisung slumped into the couch, still half-asleep, while Jeongin blinked blearily, confused but willing to participate.
Seungmin, ever the realist, muttered, “If the movie is boring, I’m leaving.”
“Noted,” Minho said, already queuing up the TV.

The movie wasn’t boring. If anything, it was the opposite of that. The opening credits rolled in long, eerie waves of flickering images, casting jagged shadows across the room. The kind of music that crawled up your spine and clung to your skin like a chill, winding its way into your bones with every passing second.
The unsettling, rhythmic beat echoed through the room, distorted clowns leering from the screen. The kind of thing that made you second-guess your own reflection in the dark, every creak in the house suddenly louder
It wasn’t the horror that had Hyunjin on edge—it was the proximity.
One second, he was sprawled comfortably on the couch, arms tucked behind his head, determined to avoid moving for the night. And then, like a swift, silent shift, Minho had nudged Iseul toward him, and suddenly, she was sitting there beside him.
Too close.
Much too close.
Iseul was next to him, her warmth radiating through the thin space between them. He hadn’t even noticed how much closer they were than before, until now. Every shift, every subtle movement of hers made his pulse spike. Her knee brushing against his—just a slight nudge—but it made his breath hitch every time.
It wasn’t even a full touch. It was just the shared proximity, the way their legs pressed so close it was almost impossible to ignore. But to Hyunjin, it felt like an electric jolt each time. And that was the problem.
He tried to adjust himself, shifting his legs a little, hoping it would ease some of the tension gnawing at him. His body ached, muscles sore from a long practice, and all he wanted to do was sink into the couch and forget about the world.
But no.
Not with Iseul next to him.
Not with her scent lingering in the air, her presence so familiar yet so distracting.
He could feel the quiet way she was shifting beside him, a soft rustle of fabric as she tried to get comfortable, but every slight movement made her knee brush against his, her shoulder brushing his in the process. Each time it happened, his pulse skipped.
His mind screamed at him to focus. To pay attention to the movie. To ignore the distracting flutter in his chest. But it was no use.
Hyunjin’s eyes flicked over to the screen—jagged images of a twisted, grinning clown with hollowed eyes and sharp teeth leering out from the TV. It should have made his heart race with fear. But the sudden shrill, warped sound of the movie only heightened the awareness of the girl beside him.
And then he heard it—just a soft, barely audible intake of breath from Iseul. It was quick, sharp, like she was trying to hide it, but Hyunjin caught it. He could always hear her better than anyone else, the subtle shifts in her breathing, the almost imperceptible changes in her body language. And he noticed that right now, she seemed… tense.
His lips curled into a slow, teasing grin.
“Iseul,” he murmured, his voice low enough that only she could hear over the movie. “Are you scared?”
Her head snapped toward him instantly, eyes flashing wide with a mix of surprise and defense. “No.” Her answer was quick, too quick, too defensive.
Hyunjin bit back a laugh, his grin only widening. “Oh really?” he teased, leaning back slightly, careful not to brush too close to her as he settled into the couch again. “You sure about that?”
She gave him a tight-lipped smile, her gaze flickering back to the screen, but Hyunjin could see the way her fingers gripped her knees tighter, the way her shoulders tensed. She was lying, and he knew it.
“Oh my god,” Han gasped loudly from the other side of her. “She is.”
The entire room went silent, as if the air itself held its breath in disbelief.
Then came the chaos.
Felix immediately shot up, his eyes wide with shock as his popcorn spilled over the couch. “Wait, wait—are you actually scared of clowns?” he asked, voice thick with excitement.
“She totally is,” Seungmin confirmed, his finger pointing at Iseul like he had just discovered a hidden treasure. “Look at her face.”
Iseul’s face flushed a deeper shade of crimson, and she scowled. “Shut up,” she muttered under her breath, voice barely louder than a whisper, but it was too late. The damage had been done.
“Oh, this is spectacular,” Jeongin said, his grin widening, clearly having the time of his life. It was only a matter of seconds before the teasing began in full force.
“You should’ve said something,” Minho added, leaning in with his signature smirk plastered across his face. “I thought you were so tough.”
“I thought I could handle it,” Iseul mumbled, her arms tightening around her legs as she sank further into the couch, trying her best to shrink into the blanket of humiliation.
Hyunjin bit back a laugh. He wasn’t sure what was funnier—the way she tried to act unbothered or how clearly out of her element she seemed. And the fact that she was trying to hide her embarrassment only made it even more endearing.
With a sense of amusement bubbling up in his chest, Hyunjin grabbed the blanket draped over the couch and tossed it over Iseul’s head, all without a word. The whole room froze for a second, before everyone, including Iseul, realized what just happened.
Iseul, who had been so tense just moments before, now sat perfectly still under the blanket, the only thing visible being the small opening for her eyes, which blinked in bewilderment. Her expression was a mix of surprise and slight exasperation.
For a long, awkward moment, there was nothing but silence. Hyunjin felt heat creep up his neck, suddenly self-conscious, but he kept his gaze locked firmly on the TV, pretending not to care. “There,” he muttered, trying to keep his voice casual, “now you’re safe.”
And then—
Changbin howled with laughter.
“Oh my god—that was so stupidly soft—”
“I literally cannot believe what I just witnessed,” Chan groaned, shaking his head in disbelief, clearly trying to suppress his own laughter.
Hyunjin’s face burned. “Shut up,” he grumbled, turning away from the group, hoping to hide his embarrassment behind the facade of a fake scowl.
Under the blanket, Iseul’s body finally relaxed. Hyunjin couldn’t help but notice the way her shoulders sagged, the tension melting away as she let out a quiet snort. The sound was almost like a release—like she couldn’t hold the act of being unfazed any longer.
For a brief second, it hit him.
This, right here, with her tucked away under the blanket like some shy little creature, was a side of Iseul he’d never seen before. Normally, she was so composed, so sure of herself in everything she did. But here, she was embarrassed and flustered—completely human.
Her fingers clenched the fabric of the blanket, pulling it tighter around her. And when her eyes met his, he saw something behind her gaze: a mixture of annoyance and relief, like she was just waiting for the teasing to die down.
“Oh, this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Han wheezed, still wiping tears from his eyes as his laughter subsided. “You actually made her hide under a blanket, Hyunjin, what the hell?”
Hyunjin, unable to resist the pull of Iseul’s unexpected softness, found himself watching her more than he should’ve. The blanket may have been hiding her from everyone else, but it didn’t stop him from noticing the way her lips tugged into a subtle, embarrassed smile.
Maybe it was the way she had let down her guard, or the way she had trusted him, even in this silly moment, to do something that made her feel a little less exposed. Hyunjin wasn’t entirely sure why it made him feel so… connected to her.
Still, he couldn’t stop looking.
For once, Iseul wasn’t the strong, stoic girl in training. She was just a person, vulnerable and human. And for reasons he couldn’t quite explain, that made her even more captivating.
“Look at that,” Seungmin teased again, poking Iseul gently with his foot, making her wince. “You’re all curled up like a little scared bunny.”
“Shut up,” she muttered again, though this time it was softer. She didn’t pull away from Seungmin’s teasing as quickly, and the subtle shift in her posture told Hyunjin everything. She wasn’t so bothered anymore.
The teasing from Han and Seungmin continued to echo around the room, but the boys’ playful jabs were suddenly interrupted by a loud gasp from Han.
“Wait!” Jisung’s eyes went wide with realization. “There’s no snacks left!”
The room went silent for a moment, as if the collective craving for junk food was just too much to ignore. Then chaos erupted once more.
A collective groan filled the room.
“You just realized that?” Minho deadpanned.
“I was too busy laughing at Iseul.”
“I will end you, Han.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll add that to the death threats list,” Han waved her off. “More importantly, what do we do?”
Minho stretched, standing up. “Simple. We make a snack run.”
“At this hour?” Hyunjin frowned, glancing at the time. “It’s almost 2 AM.”
“Exactly,” Felix grinned. “The best time.”
Iseul groaned. “Can’t we just—I don’t know—starve?”
Jeongin gasped, clutching his chest in mock betrayal. “Noona, that’s the worst thing you’ve ever said.”
“Are you scared?” Seungmin smirked.
She stiffened immediately. “No.”
“Really?” Chan grinned. “Because someone’s been extra jumpy ever since you-know-who appeared on screen.”
“Don’t say his name,” she muttered, shuddering.
“Penny—”
“STOP.”
The boys burst into laughter.
Felix clapped his hands. “Alright, let’s go before Iseul dies of stress.”

Hyunjin could barely focus on the conversation around him as they made their way to the convenience store. Iseul had unconsciously moved closer to him as they walked, her pace matching his without either of them realizing it. He could feel the slight brush of her sleeve against his arm every few seconds, and though it should’ve been nothing, it felt too much in the best and worst way.
There was something about the way she held herself, the way she hesitated, like she was trying to shrink into the hoodie Minho had thrown her way. He couldn’t stop looking at her as she pulled it over her head, the sleeves swallowing her small frame. For a second, all he could think about was how it made her look even more delicate, and then that damn hoodie—his hoodie—caught his eye.
Wait.
His hoodie.
Hyunjin’s stomach dropped.
She was wearing his hoodie.
The one he always grabbed when he was cold.
The one he’d worn on lazy days when he didn’t care to impress anyone.
The one he’d never imagined seeing on someone else.
Especially not her.
Iseul was walking beside him, unaware that his mind was spiraling. He didn’t know if he should say something or just keep walking.
He had to stop thinking about it. He wasn’t that guy, was he? This was just a hoodie, a simple, random exchange. But it didn’t feel simple anymore.
A shiver ran down her spine as a gust of wind cut through the streets. He could hear the subtle hitch in her breath, the way her fingers tightened around the sleeves.
"Hwang," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. He didn’t know what she expected from him, but he couldn’t help himself. He glanced down at her, trying to mask how much her proximity was affecting him.
"Yeah?" His voice came out quieter than he intended.
"Do you think clowns really hide in the sewers?" she asked, her voice tremoring, more from fear than curiosity.
He froze for a second, blinking as he processed the question. A soft laugh escaped him, but it wasn’t teasing, not in the slightest. “I don't know. Why?”
She winced, shuddering as she quickened her pace, the oversized hoodie practically dragging behind her. “I just... keep thinking they’re waiting for me. Or, like, they’ll pop up when I least expect it.”
He couldn’t help but feel a little protective of her. Despite the weird situation of her wearing his hoodie, he wanted her to feel safe. The tension in her shoulders was evident even in the moonlight. It didn’t sit right with him.
“Hey, it’s alright,” he said, his voice softer this time. “There’s no clown lurking around here. Just us.”
She didn’t respond right away, but he saw her nod slightly, though it didn’t do much to alleviate the anxiety that was building in the air between them.
He stepped a little closer, his arm brushing against hers by accident. She didn’t seem to notice, too caught up in her paranoia, but the second their skin made contact, something jolted inside him. He could feel the warmth of her, the way she instinctively leaned into his presence just a little. Her steps were now in sync with his, her rhythm matching his every move.
And it didn’t escape him that she hadn’t noticed how close they were walking, not once.
He tried to breathe normally, but it wasn’t easy. It wasn’t just the hoodie. It wasn’t just the fact that she was visibly rattled. It was the way she looked when she wore it—like she belonged here, next to him.
Hyunjin glanced down at her again, his gaze lingering on the way she adjusted the sleeves, pulling them over her hands as if they were too big. It was ridiculous how much he was focused on something so small.
Then, Jeongin called out, and Hyunjin’s chest tightened when he realized what the younger boy had just noticed.
“Wait, Hyunjin hyung,” Jeongin said with a grin. “Is that your hoodie?”
His gaze flicked to Iseul, and her reaction—flustered, embarrassed—was immediate. She tugged the hood tighter around her face like she could hide from all of them. But it wasn’t just that. It was the way she tried to brush it off, the way she didn’t want anyone to notice. She was trying so hard not to show how awkward it made her. And that made him feel something strange.
Something protective.
Iseul stuttered, her face flushing instantly. “What? No, I—”
The realization was hitting her now, the connection made, and Hyunjin could practically feel the heat rising in his face as well.
“Ohhh,” Seungmin chimed in, a sly smile spreading across his face. “I knew you two were close, but this? Wearing his hoodie now? That’s a whole new level of comfort.”
Iseul looked absolutely mortified, like she wanted to disappear. And honestly, Hyunjin couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. He knew Minho had tossed her the hoodie for no reason other than to mess with her. But now it felt different. It felt… intimate.
His hoodie on her? No one should have that right.
Iseul’s stomach twisted. “It’s not like that,” she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper, but the boys were already having too much fun with it. The teasing was just beginning.
Hyunjin glanced down at her, his chest tightening, not entirely sure how to handle the situation. He wasn’t sure whether it was the fact that she looked so comfortable in his hoodie, or the fact that everyone was pointing it out, but something about it didn’t sit well with him.
Minho, ever the instigator, was grinning from ear to ear. “Comfortable there, Iseul?” He leaned in, voice dripping with mischief. “You sure you’re not getting too cozy, huh? Or maybe you just like the way he smells?”
The words hit her hard, and before she could even stop herself, Iseul shot back, defensive and flustered, “It’s not like that, oppa.”
The second the word slipped out, the entire group fell silent. Iseul’s eyes widened in shock. She hadn’t meant to say it, but now that it was out, she couldn’t take it back. Her hands instinctively flew to her face as she groaned. “I did not just say that.”
The boys were in complete chaos. Han was laughing so hard he almost fell over. Jeongin and Seungmin were grinning from ear to ear, clearly enjoying her discomfort.
“Oppa?” Minho gasped theatrically, clutching his chest. “Oh, you hear that, Hyunjin? Looks like Iseul’s already picking favorites.” He winked at Iseul, clearly enjoying how flustered she had become.
Iseul shot him a glare, embarrassed but trying to keep her cool. “Please shut up,” she muttered, wishing the ground would swallow her whole.
Hyunjin, despite his own discomfort at the teasing, couldn’t help the tiny spark of jealousy that flared up at the sound of her calling Minho “oppa.” It was so natural for her to say, so casual. And now, for some reason, it felt like a mark of something important—something he hadn’t even realized he wanted until now. The jealousy was quick, but he forced it down, trying to act like it didn’t bother him. It shouldn’t.
Chan on the other hand looked absolutely betrayed.
He let out the biggest sigh, shaking his head like he was carrying the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. “No, seriously. This isn’t fair. I deserve to be called ‘oppa’ first.”
Iseul shot him a withering look. “Not you too. Please—”
“No, no,” he cut in, pressing a dramatic hand to his chest. “Think about it! Who was the one who personally talked to your mom one-on-one that day?” He pointed at himself, eyes wide with exaggerated disbelief. “Me. Who was the one constantly looking after you when you first got here? Me again.”
Hyunjin’s jaw tensed at that.
Because, yeah. Chan was always looking after her. Always making sure she was okay. And Hyunjin? He had spent so much time pushing her away that by the time he’d realized he didn’t want to, it felt like she was already slipping through his fingers.
And now, she was leaning on him like it was the easiest thing in the world. But it wasn’t easy. Not for him.
Because the longer she stayed close, the harder it got to ignore the way her warmth pressed against his side, or the way she smelled like vanilla and something faintly floral. Or the way she’d called Minho ‘oppa’ so effortlessly—like she trusted him. Like she saw him.
Hyunjin swallowed.
He didn’t want to care about something as stupid as a nickname. But Minho got an ‘oppa.’ Chan got to be her protector.
What did that make him?
And why did that thought make his chest feel so damn tight?
Meanwhile, Chan was still rambling. “Honestly, I should be first in line. I mean, if anyone here gives off protective older brother vibes—”
Minho snorted. “Older brother?”
“Don’t even start,” Chan shot back before dramatically turning back to Iseul. “Look, Iseul. I’m not asking for much. I’m just saying—if you’re gonna hand out ‘oppas’ like candy, maybe I should get one too?”
Iseul, still reeling from the absolute chaos she had unleashed, groaned and buried her face in her hands again. “I swear to God, if I say it, will you all shut up?”
Jeongin and Seungmin exchanged a look before nodding. “Probably not,” Seungmin admitted.
“Yeah, but we wanna hear it,” Jeongin added.
Iseul exhaled sharply, looked straight at Chan, and with the most deadpan expression she could muster, muttered, “Fine. Oppa. There. Happy?”
Chan immediately turned smug, tossing his arms behind his head like he had just won the lottery. “That’s all I wanted.”
Hyunjin clenched his fists. He had no right to be mad. None at all.
But he was seething.
Not visibly, of course—he had too much pride for that. But internally? Oh, he was livid.
Because now Chan had an oppa. Minho had an oppa. And him? Nothing. No title. No special nickname. Just Hwang.
He sat there, arms crossed, lips pressed into a thin line as he watched Chan bask in his victory. The actual audacity.
“Oh wow, Chan-hyung, congratulations,” he drawled, voice dripping with sarcasm. “You must feel so accomplished.”
Chan, ever the shameless one, just grinned. “You wouldn’t get it, Hyunjin. It’s a privilege.”
Hyunjin wanted to knock that stupid smug look off his face. Instead, he leaned back with an exaggerated sigh, shaking his head. “I mean, I get it. Really, I do. But oppa?” He shot a look at Iseul, tilting his head. “Don’t you think that’s a bit much? Chan’s more like a… I don’t know. A dad.”
Chan choked. “Excuse me?”
“I mean, think about it,” Hyunjin continued, fully embracing his pettiness now. “He nags, he worries, he’s always giving inspirational speeches no one asked for—he’s basically the team ahjussi.”
Minho cackled. “He’s got a point.”
Iseul, clearly regretting all of her life choices, rubbed her temples. “I hate this conversation.”
Hyunjin smirked. “What? You started it.”
Her glare was sharp, but he wasn’t fazed. Good. If he was suffering, so was she.
“Oh, Iseul~” Changbin sing-songed, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “You know, now that you’ve said it for Chan and Minho-hyung… doesn’t it feel unfair if you don’t say it for Hyunjin-hyung too? After all he looked after you and protected you from your imaginary clowns the whole night.”
Hyunjin stiffened. His heart, against his better judgment, leaped.
Iseul, however, scoffed. “Hyunjin? As oppa? Yeah, no.”
Hyunjin froze.
For a second, he was convinced he’d misheard her. Maybe she’d said it wrong. Maybe she’d meant something else. But the teasing lilt in her voice—the absolute finality of her words—made it clear. She meant exactly what she said.
Yeah, no.
The group erupted into laughter, Minho clutching his stomach, Jeongin practically wheezing, and Chan wiping imaginary tears from his eyes.
“Oh my god,” Han gasped between laughs. “That was brutal.”
Even Seungmin, who usually preferred to play the instigator rather than react, had to cover his mouth, shoulders shaking with amusement.
Hyunjin, on the other hand, was going through it.
Not that he would ever show it, of course. He was Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin. He didn’t get worked up over stupid things like nicknames.
But still.
Yeah, no? Really?
Of all the ways she could’ve rejected the idea, she chose that?
Hyunjin scoffed, rolling his eyes to mask the sting. “You’re acting like I’d even want to be your oppa.”
“Oh?” Iseul raised a brow, folding her arms across her chest. “So you admit it bothers you.”
“I never said that,” he shot back too quickly.
“You didn’t have to,” she said, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips.
She was enjoying this. That little glint in her eyes, the way she tilted her head ever so slightly—she knew exactly what she was doing. And the worst part? It was working.
Hyunjin should’ve let it go. Should’ve just shrugged it off, acted like he didn’t care. But something about the way she looked at him, so completely unbothered, made his competitive streak flare.
“Oh, Iseul,” he drawled, mirroring her smirk. “You act like this is some huge loss for me. Please. I’d rather be called Hwang than have the same title as these guys.”
Minho snorted. “Good save.”
Iseul rolled her eyes. “Right. Because you definitely aren’t sulking.”
“I don’t sulk.”
“You’re sulking right now.”
“I am not—” Hyunjin stopped himself, inhaling sharply. No. He wasn’t going to let her win. He was better than this.
Chan, who had been watching the entire exchange with far too much amusement, finally clapped his hands together. “Alright, children. Let’s move before the convenience store closes.”
Iseul, looking far too pleased with herself, turned on her heel and started walking. Hyunjin let her go ahead, watching as the oversized sleeves of his hoodie swung at her sides.
He wasn’t sulking. He was just… processing.
That’s all.
And if he happened to catch Jeongin grinning at him like he’d just uncovered the greatest secret in the world, well—
Hyunjin would deal with that later.

The convenience store was a brightly lit oasis in the quiet night, its neon sign buzzing softly against the silence of the street. As soon as the automatic doors slid open, the group spilled inside with a mix of laughter and chatter, scattering almost immediately in different directions like unsupervised children.
Iseul had barely taken two steps when a familiar presence appeared beside her. She glanced up to find Hyunjin, his expression still unreadable after the whole hoodie ordeal. She wasn’t going to think about that, though.
Nope. Not at all.
Jeongin was the first to disappear, heading straight for the snack aisle with Seungmin hot on his heels.
Changbin and Han darted toward the chips section, their voices already rising in a passionate debate.
"Original is superior," Han argued, spinning a can of Pringles between his fingers with a dramatic flourish.
Changbin looked offended. "No, sour cream and onion is the king of Pringles."
"You’re lying to yourself."
"You’re lying to the world."
"You’re ugly."
"Your entire bloodline is ugly."
Chan, standing a few shelves away, muttered, "Why does every conversation in this group escalate like this?"
Han ignored him. "Say it to my face, Seo Changbin."
Changbin squared up, gripping his can of Pringles like a weapon. "I am saying it to your face."
At this point, Iseul had joined Jeongin and Seungmin in the snack aisle, where they were already strategizing their selections. Jeongin had a bag of honey butter chips in one hand, a shrimp-flavored snack in the other, and a contemplative expression on his face.
Seungmin, meanwhile, had to comment on Iseul’s first choice.
"Are you serious?" he deadpanned, eyeing the pack of yogurt drinks she had immediately grabbed.
Iseul clutched them protectively. "Do not start with me, Kim Seungmin."
"You're actually insane," he continued, undeterred. "You walk into a store full of actual food, and the first thing you go for is yogurt?"
"First of all," Iseul shot back, "it’s not just any yogurt, it’s strawberry-flavored probiotic perfection."
Seungmin made a gagging noise. "You sound like a cult member."
"Iseul’s Yogurt Cult," Jeongin mused, barely containing his laughter.
"Jeongin, I thought you were on my side."
"I never said that," Jeongin said, popping a chip into his mouth.
"Traitor," Iseul muttered, shoving another pack of yogurt drinks into their basket.
Seungmin stared at it. "Are you stockpiling for the winter?"
"Mind your business."
Jeongin leaned in, smirking. "She’s probably stressed."
Iseul blinked. "What?"
"Because of a certain someone sulking near the drink fridge."
Seungmin and Iseul turned in unison.
There he was. Hyunjin.
Standing near the refrigerated section, looking way too broody for someone in a convenience store.
Seungmin’s lips curled. "Oh, he’s pouting."
Jeongin grinned. "It’s spectacular."
Iseul shot him a look. "Don’t use that word against me."
Jeongin just wiggled his eyebrows.
Meanwhile, Felix had also noticed Hyunjin’s mood and, because he was Felix, he had to poke at it.
"Hyunnie, why do you look like you just lost a fight?" Felix teased, slinging an arm around Hyunjin’s shoulder.
Hyunjin exhaled sharply. "I didn’t lose anything."
Felix’s gaze flickered toward Iseul—toward the hoodie she was wearing—and his mouth twitched. "Are you sure?"
Hyunjin tensed immediately.
Felix gasped, eyes widening like he had just cracked a case. "Wait. Are you jealous?"
Hyunjin’s expression shattered into pure offense. "Why the hell would I be jealous?"
"You tell me, sulky boy."
"I’m not sulking."
Felix grinned. "You’re totally sulking."
Iseul turned back to the shelf, grabbing another snack in an attempt to ignore this conversation. She was not involved in this. She was not thinking about the hoodie. She was not thinking about Hyunjin.
But Jeongin and Seungmin?
They were thriving.
"This is the best drama I’ve seen all week," Jeongin murmured, popping another chip into his mouth.
"I feel like I should take notes," Seungmin added.
Felix, meanwhile, was having too much fun. "Hyunnie, do you want a hug? Iseul wouldn't mind giving you one."
Hyunjin’s glare could have melted the ice cream section.
Meanwhile, over by the register, an entirely different kind of chaos was unfolding.
Chan, standing in front of the impulse buy section, had picked up a pack of random trinkets.
"We need these," he announced.
Minho glanced over. "No, we don’t."
Chan held up a tiny portable fan. "But it’s cute and useful—"
"Put it back."
"What about these—look, Minho, tiny screwdrivers. You never know when we might need them!"
"Are you planning on repairing a car mid-tour?"
"You’re not getting it."
"No, I understand perfectly," Minho deadpanned. "I understand that you have no self-control."
Chan scowled but reluctantly put the tiny fan and screwdrivers back. But just as Minho turned his attention away, he grabbed something else.
"Minho," Chan called sweetly.
Minho sighed, already done. "What now?"
"Look."
Minho looked.
And froze.
In Chan’s hands was a sheet of cat stickers.
Minho’s eyes narrowed. "I don’t need them."
Chan smirked. "You sure?"
Minho’s gaze flickered to the stickers, then back to Chan.
A pause.
Then—defeat.
"... Get two."
Chan burst into laughter, throwing an arm around Minho’s shoulder. "Knew it."
Just then, Seungmin and Jeongin arrived at the register with an absolutely ridiculous amount of snacks, piling them onto the counter with zero shame. The cashier—who had likely seen far worse at this hour—didn’t even blink as they rang everything up.
The total price flashed on the register, and Chan, ever the responsible leader, took one glance at it and immediately turned to the younger members. "Alright, who’s paying?"
Everyone, without hesitation, pointed at him.
"Unbelievable," Chan muttered, pulling out his wallet. "One day, you guys are gonna be rich and famous, and I’m gonna make you pay for everything."
"Sure, hyung." Jeongin grinned, already tearing open a pack of chips. "Sure."
Once they stepped outside, the cool night air pressing against their warmed faces, Iseul sighed in relief, adjusting the plastic bag in her hand.
Then, suddenly—something soft brushed against her fingers.
She blinked, looking down.
A lollipop.
Iseul stared at the lollipop resting against her fingers, its bright wrapper crinkling under the soft pressure of her grip. The warmth of Hyunjin’s touch still lingered, barely there, but enough to make her pulse stutter for half a second too long.
She swallowed, willing herself to play it cool.
"Seriously?" she muttered, turning slightly toward him. "A lollipop?"
Hyunjin didn’t look at her. He just shrugged, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his hoodie, gaze locked straight ahead like she wasn’t standing right next to him, holding undeniable evidence of his random act of kindness.
"Thought you liked sweets," he said, voice too casual.
Iseul frowned, staring at the candy. "I do, but—"
"Then eat it."
She blinked. "Are you—are you giving me orders now?"
Hyunjin sighed, finally glancing at her. "Just—" He gestured vaguely at the lollipop. "Take it or don’t. Whatever."
Felix, who had been watching everything from behind them, covered his mouth to muffle his very obvious giggle.
Jeongin, on the other hand, had no such restraint.
He leaned in, grinning like he had just been handed a new piece of gossip to wield against them. "That’s not just any lollipop, you know."
Iseul narrowed her eyes. "What?"
"It’s Hyunjin’s favorite flavor," Jeongin sing-songed.
Hyunjin whipped around, face immediately burning. "Shut up."
Felix gasped dramatically. "He gave you his favorite flavor?"
Seungmin popped up out of nowhere, as he often did when chaos was brewing. "That’s, like, the ultimate sacrifice," he mused, fake-serious. "Hyunjin never gives up his favorite snacks. It’s unheard of."
Hyunjin was two seconds away from shoving Jeongin into oncoming traffic. "You guys are so annoying."
Jeongin just grinned wider. "I prefer the term spectacular."
Iseul turned the lollipop between her fingers, staring at the wrapper as if it held some kind of secret she wasn’t meant to understand.
Something about this moment—this tiny, insignificant moment—made her chest feel warm in a way that unsettled her.
It was nothing. Just a lollipop.
And yet.
She unwrapped it, popping it into her mouth without thinking.
Hyunjin’s eyes flickered to her, lingering for a second too long before he cleared his throat and looked away again, fast.
Felix nudged him, his smirk pure evil.
"Feeling generous tonight, Hyunjin?"
Hyunjin groaned, pushing past them toward the street. "I hate all of you."
Jeongin threw an arm around Iseul’s shoulder, completely ignoring him. "So, tell me—on a scale of one to ‘this is the best thing anyone’s ever done for me,’ how touched are you right now?"
Iseul shoved him off. "Oh my God, shut up."
But as they walked down the quiet street, Hyunjin a few steps ahead of them—his head down, hands still deep in his pockets—she couldn’t help but press her tongue against the candy in her mouth, her thoughts tangled in a way she wasn’t ready to face yet.
She could still feel the ghost of his fingers brushing against hers.

STORY HINT: Hyunjin's favourite flavour of lollipop is grape. It’s a little dramatic, just like him. Some people love it, some people hate it, but it’s a bold choice. Plus, it has that deep, rich flavor that sticks around.
And THAT, ladies, gentlemen, and yogurt enthusiasts, is what happens when you let Stray Kids loose in a convenience store at 2 AM. The maknae trio? MENACES TO SOCIETY. Felix, Han, and Changbin? Should be banned from public spaces. Chan and Minho? The worst responsible adults I’ve ever seen. Hyunjin? Sulking so hard he might develop permanent frown lines. Meanwhile, Iseul’s yogurt addiction is thriving, Jeongin is collecting blackmail material, and Hyunjin, in his infinite stupidity, has decided that sneakily giving her a lollipop is the best way to process his growing crush. Let’s all take a moment for Hyunjin, who is currently in denial. He will stay there for a while. Pray for him. (AFTERALL DENIAL IS A RIVER IN EGYPT) Anyway, RIP to the store employees, pray for Hyunjin’s sanity, and as always, leave likes and comments. Comment down below your favourite part or I’ll steal all your yogurt. Stay safe!! ~Candy

DEFINITELY owned a dirtbike as a kid
likes the little honeysuckle flowers and will still stop to take one when he finds them
has been hunting for most of his life (obviously) but took up the crossbow because he hated the sound of a gun going off
his dad owned a lot of guns so he had a negative association with them before the outbreak and just had to learn to deal with it after
really cautious about making fire pits after what happened to his mom
got blackout drunk after Beth died and then never drank again
can't stand even the smell of peach schnapps
sweet tooth but doesn't get much of a chance to have sweets; Carol used to sneak him chocolate in Alexandria when she got some to make cookies
really likes cherries and peaches
took in a stray cat as a kid and never named it, just called it 'kitty' or 'cat,' but it got scared off when he dad was yelling and raving and he never found it again so he stopped keeping pets
always seems really mean to people who don't know him when they try to get acquainted but he's just insanely awkward
doesn't have the best social skills because he didn't have good examples growing up and was often isolated from other people
plays dress up with Judith whenever she wants
he always felt aroace to me and i cannot explain this
but he generally just feels queer to me can someone back me up on that
he seems like one of those characters the writers are going to give a gf just so people stop thinking he's gay
got REALLY protective over Maggie after Glenn died; he'll feel terrible forever that his bad decision was part of the reason Glenn got killed but Maggie never blamed him for it
has nightmares of talking to Glenn's headless body in the cell he was kept in
wanted to be a dad but feels like he's too old and that he wouldn't be any good at it anyway
has never seen, heard of, or spoken the word 'chapstick' in his life. i know them lips are dry as a BONE
is used to sleeping curled up in a ball because he was always on the run and sleeping any other way made him feel vulnerable but he fucking starfished across the bed they gave him at Alexandria. like i mean he took up the ENTIRE mattress by himself
deliberately does not take painkillers when he has pains because he thinks it makes him stronger
would probably like gardening if anyone taught him to do it
"my sweet boo bear darling angel baby sweetheart" i say about a character who is fictional and also a grown man

PAIRING: stiles stilinski x fem!reader WARNINGS: none GENRE: FLUFF SONG INSPIRATION: can i call you tonight? by dayglow WORD COUNT: 479
navigation | ask | stiles stilinski masterlist

There weren't many moments like these anymore, the ones where you and stiles would see each other the majority of the school day and then you’d continue to facetime each other as soon as you got home.
Sometimes helping with homework, but most of the time you guys just yapped about anything and everything, what happened that day, what either one of you was looking forward to. A Lot of the talk was about what lego set you wanted to build together next.
Hours go by and you’re still on the phone, the talking slows down almost to a halt, now just existing in each other's presence. The silence was comforting, there was no such thing of a social battery when it came to stiles.
You’d often find it draining being around other people, your anxiety at an all time high whether that be with your other friends or strangers. It was strange, how you didn’t have to speak one word between the two of you and he already knew what you wanted or knew how you felt.
Like right now, the chaos had died down, you’re laid in bed, your phone propped up against a book on your bedside table, watching stiles type on his laptop. Either doing homework or playing a game. You watched sleepily as you snuggled into the pillow that was tucked under your chin.
Even after a week or two of not talking all that often you were finally able to really look at him. The circles underneath his eyes were a little bit darker, a tinge of worry spread through your chest as you continued to look over him.
His eyebrows lightly furrowed, biting his lip as he narrowed his eyes down at the screen, concentrating. That made you chuckle, grabbing his attention. His eyes flickered over to his own phone.
“What are you laughing at?” he jokes as he takes in your surroundings.
“Your face.”
“My face?”
“Mhm…”
“What’s wrong with my face?” he questions, self consciously rubbing one of cheeks.
“Nothing, just missed it.” his eyes soften at your words. A flash of guilt crosses his features.
“I missed you too, ya know.”
You nod as you look away from your camera, feeling embarrassed all of a sudden. Your attention is quickly back on your screen when you hear the sound of his shutting and the sound of his own sheets shuffling.
Minutes passed, not one of you talked, fighting sleep was becoming a struggle now, well that was until you heard him speak, “sleep, i'll still be here in the morning, i promise,” his words were as truthful as the last time that he spoke them, he was also finding it hard to keep his eyes open too.
“Goodnight…” your eyes flutter shut,
“Sweet dreams.”
Just as you fully fall into slumber you hear,
“I love you."

comments and reblogs are appreciated ♡

So like the people in the circus can't "die" from injuries right? But Ragathas body can still be ripped up and she'll live. So if her head was completely just popped off like a Lego minifigure. Could she still talk? Even with her head removed?
And while Ragatha would most likely never do this. She could totally scare the hell out of someone like this. She just takes her head off and hides it in someone's closet on Halloween. Maybe she'd think it's just a funny scary prank XD
[Bad Halloween Prank]
Pomni: "Where did I put them!" Digging through her closet looking for her glasses that have mysteriously gone missing "Ugh where are they-.......huh?" She says while pulling on some weird red string fabric "What is this?" Pomni slowly pulls out Ragathas head from the bottom of her closet ".......GAAAAAAH!!!" She screams and chucks it aside.
Ragatha: "PFFFFFFFT!!! Happy Halloween Pom-.........Pomni?"
Pomni: Currently sobbing and shaking. Thinking Ragatha was actually dead for a second.
Ragatha would spend the rest of the day apologizing over and over while trying to cheer her up
[END]
Thank you for coming to my TED-Talk on "Girlfailures"
this was cute to read (:
i like to think that even though people in the circus can't Really Die , they can still experience what's an equivalent to a Near Death Experience because their brains are essentially Human despite having a cartoony body . so when something as serious as being Decapitated happens , their brain would send WE'RE DYING !! STAY ALIVE !! signals
aka it's Not a very pleasant experience for ragatha . she just gets loopy and would even pass out after a few minutes . which lead her friends in the past to think she actually Died —

What if Dumbledore WAS Sheev Palpatine?
The time I casually made the mistake of mentioning that Dumbledore is not Palpatine.
Well.
That's a terrifying question.
Caveat
Only watched the prequels, originals, sequels, Rogue One, Solo, and Tartakovsky's Clone Wars (2005) (and the beautiful Christmas Special, which may be the funniest of all). I have not seen The Clone Wars, any of the recent Disney shows, read any of the comics, read any of the books, or played any of the games.
I believe there's secret Sheev stories in the extended universe in places, all I know is that time he didn't die when they threw him into the vacuum of space and "wow, Anakin, failed at this too, huh, couldn't even kill Palpatine".
Point being, entirely possible there's things I just don't know about/things I'm wrong about. We're just going off what I've seen here.
The Thing About Sheev/What a Sheev Wants
What's Palpatine's deal?
I am far from the first to point this out, and it's explicitly canon, but what Palpatine seems to like best is being an evil emperor who sits in a chair.
His empire runs very meticulously, exactly the way he wants it, he methodically eliminates his greatest enemies and neuters political opposition from the non-Force users as best he can. He does this on the lowest level of society, your fucking sorority is not safe from his surveillance. Everyone has a very worker bee type role to play (with Anakin being a very special worker bee). Yes, he enjoys making life, especially for certain people such as Anakin, as miserable as humanly possible but he liked methodical order more.
Palpatine is the evil emperor of a lego city where one of his lego creations happens to be a planet-sized weapon that can destroy yours with a push of a button.
In other words: he has not, has never been, nor has ever given any indication of being a chaos/universe destroying guy.
He wants to be in charge, he wants society to run in the awful way he thinks it should, he wants to kill off anyone he deems as annoying/a threat/he thinks it would be funny if they died, but he does want there to be some society.
It's just, you know, awful.
(And in many cases run by thugs, god, Palpatine really does not mind those crime lord worlds and trafficking so long as they stay in their lane.)
Sheev Dumbledore: Pre Canon
So, Sheev is born as Albus Dumbledore.
Now, obviously, there's a very large question here of just why Palpatine became the methodical, ruthless, tyrannical bastard we meet in both the prequel films as well as the original films (not sure his cameo in the sequel films counts, that was weird).
I'm sure there's an explanation of why he became what he did somewhere, but I don't know it, all I know is the heavy implication of being the apprentice to Plageis the Wise (who had a tragic tale, you know).
What I'm getting at is it's unclear if he would at all go down the same path as Albus Dumbledore.
Dumbledore went down his own questionable path, especially at first... but we know his reasons for doing so and I'm not sure it'd be something Palpatine would be interested in.
But let's just throw the whys and hows out the window and say Dumbledore is just Palpatine as we know him when we first meet him in the films.
Somehow.
First, he has middling interest in Gellert when they first meet. What we do know of the Dumbledore and Gellert interaction is from an exemplar letter penned by Dumbledore (which is... very yikes) as well as what's summarized to Harry by different sources, but the long and short of it is that they seemed like young, radical, youths who think they're very serious but they're not about to do anything yet. They just have really big ideas about how they're going to enslave the Muggles and bicker about how they should go about it/convince the people this is a great idea.
In other words, for all he was thrown out of school, Gellert's not something anyone would take remotely seriously at this point. There are dozens of Gellerts.
Palpatine has no use for people who aren't useful to him. However, he does like to plan for the long term, and he likes to put together many, many, plans even if one of them doesn't turn out. And he likes to seed things for potential use in the future, even if it may not bear fruit.
(The terrifying thing about Palpatine, and what he's so good at in the films, is that there's not one grand master plan. There's not a singular very clever plan that happens to be pulled off due to clever mechanizations: there's many things happening all at once. Some work out, some don't.
Palpatine had planned on assassinating Padme, she survives but he adjusts such that it doesn't end up mattering. Palpatine would have loved snatching Anakin as a child if/when the Jedi threw him out for being too old, Palpatine patiently waited until he could get his opening with no sweat off his back. The first prequel film, Palpatine had planned on Naboo being ravaged, but Padme managed to win back the planet without the help of the senate far faster than he expected, but he still ended up with the sympathy vote he needed and so it worked out.
He's patient and he's versatile.)
So, I imagine Palpatine encourages Gellert and endeavors to keep an eye on him, but he's not personally invested and never puts anything damning into writing as Gellert's silly Muggle serf revolution is not worth ruining his own prospects and chances for power later.
As a result, there's no fallout with Aberforth and I imagine Ariana survives unless she dies young of illness (it was noted that she was extremely frail and this was part of the problem, it's not impossible she would have died young regardless of the fight).
Palpatine happily goes on his trip with Doge to make sure Doge remains happy (he hates it and he hates him and he hates everybody). If the opportunity is given to him, he gladly works under Flamel both for the SeCReT KnOWlEDge and for the prestige: apprenticing under Flamel makes him a name.
Then we get to what he published. Dumbledore in canon first becomes famous as an academic for the 12 uses of dragon's blood which are... plagiarized...
Palpatine's not doing that, as tempting as it might be, it's one of those things that always has the danger of being brought up in the long run (and Palpatine's very much in it for the long run). This is something that would put a dent in his reputation for something he doesn't need to dent it for, he has worthier causes for taking bigger risks.
So, I don't know what Palpatine comes up with, but whatever it is he's going to make it so that it makes as big a splash as possible and makes him a name in his own right.
He also keeps close to Flamel, likely hiring assassins and thieves on the sly, and makes sure the man thinks he's like a doting son to him as he waits for his chance to murder the man, steal the stone for himself, or create one of his own if it's possible.
Could be he has to wait until 1991 for this, which is when the stone fell into Dumbledore's hand canonically, or could be it's much sooner. Given what happened in canon though, my money's not on Flamel.
Again, should the opportunity arise, Dumbledore will absolutely defeat Gellert personally (take that wand for himself, thank you very much) and become a big damn war hero.
Now, given how we see the wizarding world react to things (or not) Palpatine can safely take on all the roles Dumbledore did without raising too many eyebrows. I also think he wouldn't go for Minister, he doesn't want to be Minister, he wants to be emperor and when he takes that Minister seat he better have emergency powers thank you very much.
It's much easier to steer the ship as Hogwarts Headmaster, Chief Warlock, Supreme Mugwump--and do what Dumbledore did and form a secret group of loyal acolytes who are willing to break the law to do his bidding.
(To give credit to Dumbledore, he does mean well with the Order, even if they're horribly run. He's not disingenuous, he does believe in good, believe he's doing good even if he has to do awful things to do it, and truly believes in the rights of Muggle-borns, creatures, and defeating Voldemort.
... It's just that Palpatine would do the same damn thing, but lie to his underlings faces and merely play the persona of the benevolant Albus Dumbledore.)
Though even further on the side, Palpatine has shadier contacts who have no idea who they're working for/believe they're dealing with an entirely different man.
What About Tom Riddle
And here something interesting happens.
Palpatine meets a little boy with extraordinary magical potential, a need to impress the first authority figure he meets, who is an isolated and lonely orphan, resentful of his status and abandonment--
This boy could be very useful to Palpatine when he grows up, and more to the point, getting to him is child's play.
The thing about Anakin was he did have protectors. It ultimately didn't work out for a myriad of reasons, and the Jedi were far from perfect, but he did have the Jedi shielding him from the likes of Palpatine and more importantly he had Obi-Wan, a master who seemed to be quite close to Anakin even into adulthood/after Anakin became a knight.
If it weren't for Obi-Wan especially, Palpatine probably would have been able to sink his claws into Anakin much sooner than he did.
Tom Riddle has no one.
There is no one in the HP world who gives a flying fuck about him. He has no family to protect or advise him, Slughorn exists yes... but without getting into it too much as this is not the post for it we can see in canon he's not what one would call reliable, and canonically there's Dumbledore who pays very close attention--but because he expects Tom to fail in horrible ways.
There is nothing standing in the way between Albus Palpatine and Tom Riddle.
Tom Riddle gets to fill the role of "ultimately expendable sith apprentice lol lol it will be funny when he grows up into a wretched being because of me".
And Tom has no idea.
...
MOVING ON
What Palpatine needs is a crisis.
Now, canonically, Voldemort was a fantastic crisis. He purged many cornerstones of society, put people into a state of panic, flipped the government on its head--it would have been very easy for Dumbledore to take control as the person everyone would turn to in such times.
And to Dumbledore's credit, he didn't do this, it didn't seem to cross his mind beyond a vague awareness that becoming Minister is probably something that wouldn't be good for him/the country. Dumbledore knew it was a bad idea, which is why he never did it. So, good on you, Albus.
Palpatine however absolutely would.
But I also don't think he'd burn Tom Riddle on something stupid like Voldemort. Please, that's for the Count Dookus of this world.
So, he gets himself a Count Dooku.
He finds someone with vast wealth, upset with the status quo (of which there are very real problems, Palpadumbledore has been making the wizarding world worse for decades at this point, things are bad) and says, "You know, I think this would be a great time for a civil war."
We then get...
Honestly, the ideal situation for Palpatine is very similar to canon. You have the fragmented, factionalized, Ministry that operates with its head cut off, infiltrated by so many spies from both sides that it's ineffectual and paranoid of everyone. You have Dumbledore's group who are given missions that sure seem to be doing things--but god, horrible how they have such high fatality for key individuals somehow. Somehow the young people with money just keep dying/causing their families to die out!
The other side is experiencing the same problem (and is vaguely aware but not really that they're being ordered about by the same man... who is their leader again? Dooku?)
While this is happening, Palpatine will argue for further and further consolidation of Ministry power in this state of emergency as well as proactive jailing measures and stuff. THEY HAVE TO GET THIS UNDER CONTROL, GUYS.
The difference, however, is that Palpatine's patiently waiting to see which side of the war loses, as he did in the Star Wars films. The thing was that it never really mattered if the Separatists won or lost, Palpatine controlled both sides. What he wanted was to thin out both armies enough such that he could easily take control with his mass produced soldiers, it was not important that the Jedi in particular won.
So, he's waiting until people with the funds and resources are depleted enough that there will be no one to resist when he reveals that "Actually, it's my lego empire now. I want to build a Death Star. It will be cool."
And if there's anyone particularly pesky left afterwards, VADER-IDDLE, GO GET EM, TIGER! DO IT!
(Whether Tom is still on board at this point/what he's doing is fanfiction at this point, I leave that as an exercise for the reader. Could be he's sadly running too, hating everything.)
And Palpatine's probably going to get what he wants. Maybe there's a miraculous prophecy where a baby blows him up somehow--unlikely but possible--or maybe Tom has his moment of redemption and throws him into the vacuum of space--also unlikely, but possible, but ignoring that... yeah, he probably gets to sit in his big chair and make Death Stars.
And people don't even realize what the fuck happened.
TL;DR
Dumbledore is bad but Palpatine is evil.

au where I mix up all of the Ninja's powers and backstories into a slushie mess and see what happens.
So far I have:
Wu gets bitten by the Great Devourer and becomes super manipulative and toxic, as he tries to make Ninjago perfect, neat, and orderly with the Golden weapons. (Think lord business from the lego movie) Too bad he refuses to use his Oni side to obtain four arms to use them together.
Garmadon still trains under Chen and practices the Dark arts, but understands the balance of good and evil, and is filled with guilt over the fact that Wu got bitten when it should have been him. Wu, who doesn't like that Garmadon leans into "evil" practices and banishes him to the underworld.
The Green Ninja is Morro, who is biologically Wu’s son. (yeah, you thought canon morro was bad, this morro is so much worse since he's literally the weapon in making Ninjago in Wu's image) His personality is pretty much the same as canon (perfectionist, obsessive, crazy) it's just that he is in fact the Green Ninja and Wu enables him a lot.
Before everyone figures out that Morro is the Green Ninja, they think it might be Kai, who is the brother of Maya and has the power of Wind. He's Morro's replacement in this au, in the sense that he is also desperate to become the Green Ninja by whatever means necessary, and Wu pits Morro and Kai in a rivalry to see who becomes the Green Ninja. And Morro, who cannot fail his father, becomes violent and kills Kai. Kai isn't great in this au either and ends up in the cursed realm and later becomes a ghost.
Misako sees how problematic Wu is and after Garmadon gets banished, she runs away with baby Lloyd and tries to take Morro too, but Wu freaks out and thinks she tried to kidnap Morro so that she could use the Green Ninja's power for her own gain and he kills her to "save Morro," and thinks he kills Lloyd too.
Lloyd's actually fine, and just grows up at Darkley's until he gets adopted by the Royal Family, much to his dismay, and becomes the Quiet One who is willing to punch a dude to get his dad back. Because he doesn't have his powers, he relies a lot on his dragon and Oni heritage.
Nya is the only child of Ray and Maya, and when they disappear, Chen finds and adopts her, and she becomes the sister of Skylor. Despite having the element of fire, she relies heavily on mechs, and loves to invent, letting her sister use her powers while she designs Chen’s button chair.
Pixal is Ninja of Ice and still was created by Cyrus Borg, so Zane is still in the Birchwood Forest, forgotten and stuck there until Lloyd finds him and offers him a place in the cult group he’s starting.
Cole's dad dies, and while he tries to honor his dad's dancing legacy, he still inherits his powers and is forced to become a ninja. He's still a popular entertainer and pretty well known in Ninjago as such, and he really doesn't want to be a Ninja full-time and is only doing it because he's scared of what Wu will do to his loved ones. I do not know what power he should get and I am open to ideas.
Jay was raised as Cliff Gordon's son and so he's wealthy but he is also extremely talented in robotics. He and Cyrus Borg collaborate a lot and is best friends with Pixal. He does not have powers and tries to help Cole get out of the team. Honestly, I have no idea about Jay either.
Harumi releases the Serpentine after her parent sends her to a boarding school and forget about her. She does not want to be forgotten, and in a rage over it, discovers she can control Lightning.
Morro finds her and takes her in, reassuring her that there is a place for her on his team.
The team consists of Morro, Ash, Cole, Pixal, and now Harumi, all trained under Wu.
And then Lord Garmadon crawls out of the Underworld, eyes glowing purple and with four arms, demanding to see his son, and everyone starts to panic because they are pretty sure Lloyd is dead.

my birthday is coming up! can i please request smut with seonghwa and mingi (bcs its his birthday too! we share the same birthday 🥳)
- 🐰
a/n: happy birthday 🐰 anon !! I hope you have a good one and I hope this piece compensates as a good birthday gift 🩷 I hope your birthday was not too bad (that asshole you told me about sucks. don’t let him ruin your day! stink men don’t deserve the time of day) please enjoy!!
Mingi and seonghwa were never the first people you would think of when you try to think of members with similar interest. They both just kind of went on their own path. For example, Seonghwa loved his LEGO’s and Mingi loved playing video games/watching anime. One thing they could agree on though, was how much they adored you.
You were just a friend to them. You happened to work for them as a staff member for this world tour they were on. You were in charge of getting them from place to place, keeping them in line and helping during shows. They enjoyed your presence so much. The two men were particularly fond of you and would always fight over you. You found their bickering endearing but never took it deeply. Of course you thought they were just joking. Idols never go for staff but this case was very different.
Since the tour had started and you began working with them, they’d been plotting a way to get you into bed with them. Now that the final show was approaching and you’d go back to work with other groups, they needed to put their plan into action. It all started after the last show. The whole staff and the members got together for a nice dinner at a privately reserved restaurant. Of course, the two members took up all your attention the whole time and were practically tripping over their own feet to make you laugh. You just went along with it and gave them the attention they wanted. Besides, you’d grown to enjoy their company. You’d miss them a lot once you were gone. All came to an end after about three hours of talking and eating and drinking. You escorted the boys back to their room that they happened to be sharing together. Before leaving from their front door, they offered to bring you inside to drink some more and hang out. You hesitated because you could get in big trouble but how could you deny them? They’d been so sweet and kind to you that you felt awful saying no.
You went in and had a drink with them. Everything was all fun and giggles when you noticed that they both had their big, dreamy hands on your thighs. You tried not to make a big deal out of it but it was starting to make you feel stuff you didn’t think you should feel about them. At some point, the conversation died down and mingi was the first one to speak up about the situation. “So, y/n. Thank you for keeping us together for this tour. It’s means a lot. There’s just something we’ve been meaning to tell you about.” Seonghwa immediately chimes in, “yeah. This may come as a shock but we’re both really into you. We’ve been fighting over you this whole time but we decided not to fight anymore because we could just give you both our attention.” You’re sitting there…unsure of what to say to them. Mingi started to talk again, “so…before you leave us for good, we wanted to ask you something. Would you be interested in sleeping with us?” You immediately started to blush bright red. “S-sleep with you two? I’d love you but won’t I get in trouble? I don’t wanna get in trouble. I like this job.” You frowned and the boys immediately made you smile again. “Of course not! We’d never get you in trouble. We’re asking you for this. Please? Sleep with us? We promise we’ll show you pleasure you’ve never experienced before.” Seonghwa looked at you with his big, beautiful eyes and you just could deny him. You nodded and they looked so excited.
They started by having you strip out of your clothes and they did the same. They offered to let you shower and the three of you stepped into the very spacious shower. While cleaning up, a lot of deep, passionate kissing ensued. Mingis kisses were slopping and desperate and seonghwas kisses were gentle yet meaningful. Both kisses being very fulfilling and enjoyable. You three were finally clean and were able to get out and dry off. They didn’t even let you put on clothes because they wanted to get right to work. Mingi picked you up and set you on their big bed. They picked the biggest option they could in anticipation for this day (calking for the win). Seonghwa practically pushed mingi out of the way for the space between your legs. He pulled your legs over his broad shoulders and looked up at you. “Is this okay? Can I eat you out? You just look so delectable.” You nodded and he dove right in. Out of jealously, mingi got on the bed and started to kiss you and play with your nipples. These combined sensations made you beak out in moans. They enjoyed listening to your noises. After he was fed up, mingi made seonghwa trade with him to be fair. Mingi eat you out the same we he kissed you, messy and desperate. Saliva and slick were all over his face, making you even more wet at the sight. He didn’t even let you cum, wanting you on his cock before you were allowed to cum.
You started to get restless and that’s when you really began to take some charge. You turned around towards seonghwa, wanting him to go first. “Please? I need you inside. You can be first. Please?” You gave him your best big shiny eyes and he folded, not needing you to beg at all. Mingi moved so that seonghwa could have his way. He ask mingi to grab him a condom and he did. Seonghwa ripped it open with his teeth and slid it on. You whimped while watching him and he smirked, “you liked that, pretty girl? Don’t worry. Im going to take such good care of you right now. If something hurts, you’re gonna tell me. Okay?” You nodded up at him. You three went through picking a safe word and everything was squared away.
Seonghwa started but slowly pushing into your wet entrance. He started to hiss and you were whimpering. “Fuck! You feel so damn good! So good for me. Right?” You nodded and look at him, feeling the pain subside. “Mm please this feels so good. Thank you! Thank you!” Out of instinct you reach up to him and wrap your arms around his shoulders. He found the action endearing and let you hold onto him. Mingi watched the whole time, fucking his fist and moaning. You turned to look at him and smiled, enjoying watching how he touched himself. Seonghwa took his time with you and when you both were getting close, he warned you. “Fuck, I’m going to cum. Please? You’re gonna cum with me, pretty girl?” You nod, “mhm please let me cum! I’ve been so good!” He pulls you close and you do the same, finally cumming together. When you both finished, you laid down and panted but mingi didn’t give you much of a chance e to recover. You cried out when he jumped on top of you pushed himself inside you. The size difference was very noticeable to you and it made you feel the pain again. “Fuck! I can’t!” You cried and mingi just smirked, loving how you were complaining about his size. He gently caressed your cheek and tried his best to make you feel comfortable. “Does it hurt too much? Poor thing.” You look up at him with tears in your eyes and shake your head, “no please! Keep going. I want it.” You begged him and he continued. He fucked you at a quick pace, leaving your tummy with an ache afterwards. He just went in so deep and so fast. He finished a little quicker than seonghwa, moaning loudly when he finally came, making sure to let you cum also.
When all was said and done, they both laid there with you, taking care of you. Their aftercare combined was the best. They made sure you drank plenty of water and got some snacks in you. You also cleaned you up super gently. They don’t just want to fuck you and have it over with. They never did. They knew you deserved way better than that. “So, you aren’t just going to leave us, are you?” Seonghwa asked with a cute little pout. You shake your head and held onto him. “Nope. Not right now at least. I probably can’t walk always so I’m here for now.” They both laughed along with you and mingi scooted closer to you to snuggle you also. You enjoyed their affection. They were so sweet to you and made sure you were comfortable before falling asleep. You were going to miss them and they were going to miss you also. Hopefully you wouldn’t have to miss them too much because they planned to beg their management to recruit you into their company.

So I finally saw Sonic 3 last night and I am so....mixed.
This is gonna be a VERY long ramble and definitely will not cover all of my thoughts but I really need to write just any of it down because I cannot rant to myself for another 3 hours.
Firstly, Shadow
Every scene of Shadow is perfect. Period. The fact that he did the first chase on a motorcycle, the fact that he didn't need the motorcycle, the fact that he teleports the motorcycle in the air next to a skyscraper - used his power to make the motorcycle stick to the building so he could ride it up the side - THEN Akira slid off the top and used the motorcycle as a platform to launch himself from?
Perfect.
An element of Shadow that's not utilized as much as it should be is how specifically his "effortless coolness" happens. Sonic will do Extra shit either because it's fun, or because it's cool. Shadow just Does It, and you don't know if he's doing it to be cool or because he just sees something he can use and uses it. There's also how he chose to pick off Team Sonic one by one in the GUN base. He stands in the dark until Knuckles sees him just to scare him, he floats behind Stone and Tails silently with glowing red eyes (can he do that by choice since they didn't glow while sneaking up on Knux?), and while he does take down Sonic much more seriously all of this is still important. Because it shows pieces of how Shadow can be playful in how he does things. He doesn't emote facially or vocally, but he'll still act in a way that's clearly done just to fuck with people. He could have been a bit of a trickster in the past, it's still present in the present, and it can be something he embraces more in the future. (Small Tangent) I know that the Twitter Takeover's are kinda ooc, but they really do feel like a natural development for Shadow's character after all of the trauma and amnesia has been addressed. He thinks he's cooler than everyone, states it as a fact, riles up Sonic for fun, and would still kill and die for any of the cast. He's an opposite to Sonic in attitude but not morals. He feels like a Lego Batman type, with "I'm the Ultimate Lifeform" being his "I'm Batman" where it's not a satisfying answer...but it really is the only one. (tangent over)
The new backstory could have worked really well. I was very surprised by just how much they gutted his og origins, and it lowkey did hurt a bit, but the new backstory isn't bad, just badly executed. Shadow's not a lab experiment created to cure Maria's terminal illness. He was found in a meteor and brought to a GUN lab where they could run tests. Gerald was the head scientist and Maria was there because "he brings her everywhere". Gerald's attachment to Maria is barely touched on other than her death being the reason he wants to kill everyone. He takes her everywhere but we see no scenes of them interacting until her death. Shadow's backstory is told through one exposition dump, one montage flashback, and a final flashback that's just how Maria died. There is so little Shadow in this movie I can't understand it. The exposition dump is done by the Olive Garden Military Guy from Sonic 1. He tells team Sonic that a meteor crashed in Oklahoma years ago, and inside was "a lifeform. The Ultimate Lifeform." He says that they found that Shadow had a huge amount of unstable Chaos energy, and the visuals show that they siphoned it from him by having him run in circles in a giant circular room. We also see his energy filling up a canister. And you need to remember that and what it looks like for the final flashback. But with THIS it's very clear how dehumanized the military is towards Shadow. He's basically running on a hamster wheel. And in the Maria Bonding Flashback Montage, it looks like they would just stick Shadow in tubes of water when they weren't doing tests. There's also another scene where scientists have sensor things on him, and Maria sneaks in and helps him sneak out so that they can have fun. And if there was MORE of that, it would make Maria's presence more impactful. She's not a sick girl trapped in space and slowly dying. (THERE IS NO SPACE COLONY ARK, THEY'RE IN A BUNKER LAB THAT'S FRONT DOOR IS AT GROUND LEVEL) Maria is instead, a normal girl, who just wants to have fun with him and treat him like a friend. They watch a Godzilla-esque movie that says "Beware the Alien Freak", and Shadow gets a horrified look on his face. And in the next convo they have he asks her if she thinks he's dangerous. This is set-up for something the movie never executes. Because in flashback 3, Maria's death, it's Shadow's POWER that kills her. The bullet meant for her misses and hits a container, and if you remember the exposition dump from Olive Garden Guy, and remember what that container looks like, you'll realize what it is. It's Shadow's unstable chaos energy, it gets knicked by the gunshot, explodes, and that's what kills Maria. And am I saying that the movie should have pointed out that it was Shadow's power that caused the explosion? No! But considering how much the movie flops from filler to "direct answer exposition that just tells you what happens", it's just so confusing to finally see something subtle, and it's something that should have been much bigger. Especially because Shadow's main turmoil is 1, he considers himself a dangerous alien, and 2, he's acting on pain and grief that's been stewing for 50 years. But there's a moment that's supposed to play on this directly and obviously, and it's done SO BADLY Also Shadow takes off his inhibitor rings at the end but the movie hasn't even mentioned them, so if you don't know any Shadow lore it means absolutely nothing.
I need to go on a longer rant about the WHOLE GUN HQ SEgMENT, but I'll focus just on the Walters/Olive Garden guy part. The movie made it so that he was a GUN agent stationed at the lab studying Shadow, and even made it where he was there to witness Shadow big put into stasis (That scene? Shadow is conscious and trapped in a tube while it fills with water. That is the energy they needed for the entirety of his backstory). Walters even was a good military goon who tried to stop one out of like 10 guys from firing on "children" (Shadow and Maria) implying that he saw Shadow as a child. But I do not fall for the good guy military shit so boohoo I guess. BIG THING IS?? YOUNG WALTERS LOOKS LIKE TOM. I thought it was James Marsden playing him at first. And remember in the first movie Tom said that a Wachowski has been Green Hills' sherif for 50 years and we all thought Tom was descended from the guy who shot Maria? Yeah that apparently meant nothing. But there's a scene where it SHOULD HAVE BEEN I SWEAR TO GOD Tom is disguised as old Walters, Shadow sees him and assumes that he's Walters The Young Guy Who Froze Me (and he also needs to steal a thing he's holding), and rocks Tom's shit. The disguise powers off and Shadow sees that it's Tom. Sonic pulls up, freaks out, Shadow is reminded of himself when Maria died, and looks sad before resigning to his actions with the "What I had to" line. Because this is supposed to read as Shadow going "I really am a dangerous thing, I've the same grief I have onto Sonic." EXCEPT THAT DOESN'T WORK IF SHADOW WAS INTENTIONALLY ATTACKING THAT OLD MAN. HIM NOT BEING TO OLD MAN HE MEANT TO FUCK UP DOESN'T CHANGE THAT. HE WOULD HAVE PUNCHED AN OLD GUY TO THE HOSPITAL IF IT WAS WALTERS, IT NOT BEING WALTERS DOESN'T SUDDENLY MAKE SHADOW BAD OR EVIL. Because what SHOULD have happened is that Tom doesn't reactivate the disguise before Shadow shows up. He looks like himself. And when Shadow sees Tom in a GUN uniform, looking like young Walters, he gets a flashback of being trapped in the stasis tube as it fills with water - Young Walters staring at him from across the room. Because he's reliving it, he punches forward, trying to break out, and punches Tom on accident. Shadow then grounds himself, realizes where he is, and sees that Tom isn't Walters. Sonic shows up, gets upset that his dad got his shit wrecked, and Shadow is now faced with "even when trying to protect myself I cause pain to others. I really am dangerous", which THEN makes the fact that he tries to goad Sonic into killing him in the final battle hit that much WORSE because not only is that Shadow telling Sonic to give into his revenge and grief, but it's Shadow saying "kill me, I deserve it." And I have many more thoughts but I needed to get that out.

could you please tell us more about why you think chris would freak out? 😊
Okay, I have been thinking this since 4x08 with Chris freaking out about the idea of Eddie dating in general. But the bottom line is, Chris has a delicious shade of abandonment issues. Eddie wasn't there when he was a baby, Shannon left, and then she died, his grandparents were as constant in his life as his mother and now he only sees them every once in a while, Isabel was constant in LA but she's back in Texas now, you can even make an argument that he felt left by Buck during the lawsuit, because while I do think Eddie was hiding behind Chris to say he missed Buck, Chris was attached enough to Buck to feel the fact that Buck suddenly disappeared a for a while (I like to believe Buck showed up at the house with a pile of legos and a bear like the one they won before the tsunami after, but, well, from a kid's perspective as month is a year, it might've been enough to create something there anyway), especially with everything that had happened to Christopher that year, Shannon dying, the tsunami, Chris worrying about Eddie's state of mind, Chris was at the barbecue and we have no idea what he saw or didn't see about Buck throwing up blood, so he had enough traumatic experiences in quick succession to do something to his brain before he was even 10. We also have a layer to play with if the show decides to go there, but the long-term effects of lockdown on a child were a lot more intense than in someone with a fully developed brain because their lives shut down and they didn't have the tools to deal with it and a child needs the interaction with other people and they were not getting that, and if adults struggled with it, imagine how a 10 yo with a first responder parent who couldn't stay with him felt, ykwim? We see that manifesting in season 4, Chris is scared that dating means leaving, he thinks that Eddie bringing someone into their lives just means someone else who will leave him. And we saw at the beginning of the season that he still believes that to be true. He has that moment of it's okay to play around because it doesn't matter if they love you, they will leave anyway. Chris most likely doesn't remember most of life in Texas with Shannon, and even when he's old enough to understand the circumstances around Shannon leaving, it will still have scarred him forever. And that kid has lived through one parent dying, the other in a hospital when he wasn't allowed to visit due to covid, and a constant safe adult he literally saw in a hospital bed. It doesn't matter if the show ever states Buck in a parental position for Chris before he becomes "stepdad Buck", Buck is one of the two safe adults Chris runs to in a crisis, exemplified by the way even though he's being raised by two first responders, his instinct when Eddie had his breakdown was not to call 911, it was to call Buck. We have enough to speculate that yes, Chris sees Buck as a parent in some degree, but we do know for a fact that Buck is an adult Chris trusts.
So, we have Chris with the mother of all abandonment issues of the show, which is saying something considering who he's up against, we have Eddie and Buck being the two constants when it comes to adults, and just the general concept of safety that he has had in the past few years, so Eddie and Buck are the two people Chris is scared the most to lose, Eddie for obvious reasons, and we see that reflected with Buck with him forcing Eddie and Carla to let him visit him so he can beg Buck to come back. But Chris is also watching both Eddie and Buck FUMBLE through romantic relationships. Like, they are BAD at romantic relationships, and, like, even Taylor was brought into Chris' life and then vanished, I'm not saying he got particularly attached to Taylor, but she was in his house, she lived with Buck, for an 11 yo that's as serious as it's gonna get, and then that ended too. So what Chris is picking up here is that romantic love means people leaving. Like, that was literally the conclusion he reached on his own when it came to dating. He understands that Shannon loved them and that there was love between Eddie and Shannon, but he only thought about the way she left that love. We also have everything about Marisol. Everything about her is about babysitting Chris, so he has a decent relationship with her, and she was moving in. I doubt that Chris didn't know that, but that's another development that got canceled and we know Marisol is not here to stay, so yet another relationship Eddie completely fumbled.
So take all that and put it next to the idea of Eddie and Buck becoming a couple. We know buddie is endgame. We outsiders with all the information watching as all-seeing gods waiting for them to just get their shit together know that when they get together, there's no separating them, that's it. Chris doesn't know that. He knows he loves Eddie. He knows he loves Buck. He knows none of them ever managed to make a romantic relationship work. And he thinks that romantic love means leaving. So Eddie and Buck dating means losing Buck. The only conclusion Chris is gonna reach here is "Buck is gonna leave" so he's gonna freak out. He's a teenager. Half of being that age is feeling things too intensely and the other half is reacting as intensely. He reacted like that to the idea of Ana and it wasn't even about someone he knew yet. Chris having The Tamtrun about Eddie dating someone he loves makes perfect sense. Because Chris doesn't know what a successful relationship looks like, sure, there are his grandparents, but he's not around them enough, and even then his grandfather travels a lot for work anyway so what would he have seen when he was kid, and a kid learns love from their parents. Eddie and Shannon were a disaster from Chris pov. They loved each other but she still left, so what does it take for a relationship to work? Because isn't it the thing we teach kids with fairytales and stuff? That love conquers it all? But he understands enough to know that's not true. Chris may know Buck and Eddie love each other in some degree, the same way he knows he loves Buck, and the same way he knows Buck loves him, but the instinct there would be to fight the change in their relationship because he doesn't want Buck to leave. If everyone Eddie or Buck dated disappeared from his life, what's stopping Buck from leaving him if they break up? Most likely scenario is that he would get big mad at Buck because the change in the dynamic will trigger his abandonment issues, and he's 13, so he's not gonna be rational about it. And that would create some interesting tension in the way that when Chris is mad at his parents, he opens up to Buck, if he's mad at Eddie and Buck, who is he gonna open up to? This is absolutely the type of thing that would make their dynamic stronger in the long run, but it would take a minute for Chris to get to the point where he's ready to talk about the fact that he's scared of the change, it would even take him a minute to probably get to that conclusion himself, because again, the horrors of being 13 are real. Chris himself might struggle to figure out why does the idea make him mad. And Buck and Eddie can't reassure him if they don't know what's wrong. They can't promise they won't break up either. So how do they navigate that?
Because Chris is the priority, they would never do anything that would hurt Chris intentionally, but I also think they would be like "I don't want to break up because he's mad" because that would be proving Chris' fear that they won't stay together right. And I kinda think this is the only route they can go with Chris' reaction because this isn't some "my divorced parents are getting back together" situation, Chris has no reason to hope for Buck and Eddie to get together, so I don't see how he would've already processed that. Sure, if they had gotten together when Chris was 10, he probably would've been a lot more chill about it, but Chris as a teenager? He's gonna freak out. That's literally the only logical conclusion here. And considering the beginning of the season, and the way he was handling dating, AND the way he opened up about it to Buck, all the pieces for that to happen are on the table. Buck has a relationship with Chris outside of Eddie, and obviously, Buck and Eddie are, yk, *motions vaguely* but actually getting Buck and Eddie together would add tension to the existing dynamic between the 3 of them. And it is a way to add conflict to buddie without adding the idea that they don't love each other or don't know how to handle the switch or might not be good at being a couple, because navigating this situation would just prove how solid they are. It's all there. The question is if they are gonna go for it or not.
