one of my favourite scenes in endeavour that i don't see talked about much is the one in 7x03 (Zenana) when morse tells bright that his wife was murdered. it's too long to gif and gifs wouldn't do the scene justice anyway.

morse has clearly spent all night trying to piece together all the unusual deaths and has realised it's ludo and violetta, he's still wearing the same clothes, he's dishevelled and it doesn't seem like he's slept. at this point his relationship with fred is so broken but morse still goes to him to try and make him understand. then bright comes in and thursday is desperately trying to stop morse from saying anything but morse carries on anyway. the way bright looks at fred in such a bewildered way, the desperation from all 3 of them. morse trying to get people to listen to him but doing it so badly, fred trying to protect bright and bright's anger. the acting!!!

i think morse is feeling incredibly guilty for not discovering ludo's crimes sooner which is why he goes in all guns blazing. he's probably already feeling guilt for the breakdown in his relationship with thursday, jim has just been stabbed after morse told him to go to that location, bright's wife has been killed, he's been kicked out of the station. as he writes in his letter to joan, he's just burned all his bridges and this (and eventually violetta's death) is the cause of his drinking and downward spiral in the next series.

Btw Ibrahim pretending not to speak italian for a while just to be able to annoy the guy by mocking his hat, and then do the power move of "I too can actually speak an hilarious broken italian instead of the Venetian we're supposed to be speaking" is the moment in which he first lost points in my book.

Following the lectures is a debate between the candidates—one topic they were allowed to prepare for, the other is held secret until the last moment and all must debate off the cuff. Nicolo and Sanudo are so terribly enthusiastic about this it makes Cristof worried. He tells Nicolo that he’s too cracked up, he can’t debate anyone. Who is he debating first? Egnazio from Manuzio’s press. He can’t debate the man! He’s a priest! They’re debating Augustine and Aquinas! Cristof is fucked! Nicolo tartly tells him to calm down and declares that Cristof is fine.

And he is fine. Until the second debate which is against Musuro, one of Sanudo’s apparent nemeses and it is on Theocritus. Cristof again says he can’t do it. Nicolo tells him to stop the amateur dramatics and go smear Musuro’s smug arse across the pristine marble floors of the hall. Cristof thinks Nicolo’s approach to loving encouragement could use some work.

Afterwards, Nicolo tells him, ‘It was a fine spectacle.’

Sanudo enthuses, ‘I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.’

Cristof, worried, ‘Is that a good thing?’  

Nicolo smiles his Nicolo smile.

I love their love and I love what a little maniac Cristof is. Absolute idiot. Bless him. 

Sanudo’s just here for the ride.

This is about to get messy because now the media is pitting Emily vs Olivia because they are or were friends. Every headline is either how Harry is a bad kisser or how Emily betrayed Olivia or the new page six "exclusive" about Emily begging Olivia for forgiveness. None put the blame on Harry but on Emily. Even the bad kisser ones blame her because she is "the female Pete Davidson so she probably sold the video herself". This could be a good moment for "feminist" Harry to speak up like he did for spitgate but he won't because bad publicity is still publicity.

I'm not sure why you've put feminist in scare quotes anon. As far as I know Harry has never described himself as feminist.

I'm also confused about what he's supposed to deny or comment on at this point.
