Explain a webtoon you like in terrible detail
okay bet
a girlboss and a goth queen meet up on a beach and oh wow they know each other from their past like but don't know it yet then they both attend a school where the headmaster target the goth queen and a) the goth queen meets a baguette lover, a planet, and a carrot; b) girlboss meets a croissant, a cowboy, and a gretchen weiners. oh no, girlboss and goth queen find themself in a terrible, tragic, oh-so-real rivalry but it's corny and everyone's horny
did you guess the webtoon?

I'm almost finished with Geoff Emerick's book. And it's hard to tell what is factual and what is exaggeration.
He really doesn't like George Harrison, or Martin, for that matter. Maybe he just hates people named George.
The fascinating thing is that his issues with Harrison's playing seem to be things he praises Paul for. With Paul he says he spent hours trying to get his bass section just perfect, but with George he says he screwed up every take and everyone was embarrassed by him.
He also acts like Ringo was a blob who spoke once or twice. Really disparaging of his importance.
I think I trust him the most on EMI politics, like why things were done a certain way and the hierarchy of the business, his read of Magic Alex and why he was able to con John so entirely, and how he created a divide between the Beatles and EMI. His take on Yoko is quite interesting too.
I don't know how much else I trust, Ken Scott said that half of the things Geoff attributed to himself weren't his doing at all. Not to mention in an interview in the late 70s, Geoff didn't remember much of anything of the Beatle sessions so it's a wonder that he could be this specific about certain moments of certain songs in 2006.
But I think it is absolutely a must read, cause it explains EMI and how they operated in a way that I think is crucial to understanding the Beatles career, even if the Beatles themselves weren't entirely aware of these things happening behind the scenes.

Would love to hear your overall thoughts on that match...
havertz needs to go back to the training pitch. he is throwing off the balance during matches and his apathy towards making mistakes is unacceptable. i don’t know if he is magically amazing at training but we have players that are putting out performances more deserving of a start, and they should be played. he will get his chance once he settles in better, but it may take time.
everyone, even our regular stunners like odegaard and saka were giving the ball away easily, being too comfortable in possession. saka’s could honestly reasonably be chalked up to this being his 83rd involvement in a row (give him a break!) but the squad on the whole needs more of last season’s fight in them. zinny brought that really well when he came on late in the match, involving the supporters as well, and his injury has really shown how much he contributed to the mindset change that led to our success last season.
vieira seems to be improving, which i know you are delighted about, and i look forward to not being stressed when he gets subbed on! i believe in him <3
like i said before, partey CANNOT play in the backline, it just messed up the entire foundation of the team. stick to last year’s lineup formation, with kiwior, who also played well, as a left back option.
overall, they reacted well in theory to going a goal down, getting a lot of possession and chances, but they didn’t have the ruthlessness to finish them off, which is why we should never have havertz as the only option in the box.
in terms of arteta, we don’t know how players are performing in training, which is a big part of how lineups are formed. he did end up making necessary substitutions, and although we may have seen them as late, it can be worse to hurt a player’s pride in the long run. i disagree with the way he is playing some people, and the fact that esr in particular has had so few minutes, but at the end of the day, he knows the players better than i do.

1x01 “Years”
These are my last first thoughts on the premier. There were many things where you’re like, wait is this a good thing or a bad thing? Can we trust this person or not? Is Rick in it or is he not? And I love it. You have to go back several times to see the way things stitch together. We’ll see what happens. As for what has happened, Scott Gimple pulled out the “end in the beginning” move from his back of tricks. In my notes I named each ‘scene’ this:
1. “There’s still one good man in the world”: Rick vs Thorne’s Glass
2. The stuff and things we hide. Rick plays the game.
3. “Monsters that kill the monsters—that’ll be over soon.” Okafor turns the walking dead theme on its head.
4. “She’s not gone. They’re not gone. But we are.” Turning a theme on its head again. Letting us know it’s all about…
5. Nationbuilding 101: Secrets. Secrets. Secrets. Rick plays the game to its end.
6. Rick vs Thorne’s Glass 2: Electric Boogaloo
7. (“He’s a good man and we’re from a good place.”) Rick chooses to die metaphorically.
8. A reunion. Writers’ lesson in teasing but avoiding the Romeo and Juliet scenario.

Ted Lasso S3e6: Sunflowers
Alright, y’all can have a go at me for being a skeptic but I walked into season 3 every time thinking “Where the hell is this going?” Cause Love and Thunder let me down after Ragnarok and Loki Phase 4 was a let down, and GoT, HIMYM, I could go on but it breaks my heart. But fuck me head man! I should trust these folks with my life! The magic of S1 and S2 was something but I’m still sitting here smiling like an idiot, singing 🎶don’t worry, it will be alright🎶. Anyway, sorry for the rant :) Just some stuff I thought about while watching S3e6 (spoilers?)
I was thinking I'm going to need more than one episode to convince me of Rebecca and boat man. Kinda glad it was only for one ep. Did anybody spot the GREEN BOX?
There was one bed in Ted and Beard's room...
I love Coach Beard!
Placebo High Ted was fun. Weird, but like the Christmas episode where Ted's moustache fell off kind of weird.
I love Coach Beard!!
There is so much potential for Ao3 people out there, don't let me down. TedBeard, TrentxColin, RoyxJamie, TedBecca, JackxKeeley, even a glimpse of hope out there for fellows RoyKeeley, etcccccc.
I love Coach Beard!!!
I want what Trent Crimm is wearing.
Anybody saw that loving look Beard gave Ted at the end of the episode? Or am I just being too much of a stan?
I just love the wholesome team bonding moment so much 🥰

I see you finally found your way to Suburraeterna! What did you think of it? (we have a Suburra Discord if you're into that, it's very small but we have THOUGHTS)
to be perfectly honest the show should've been killed for good this season. D: but i did enjoy parts of it!!! kept watching till the end for Spadi, and unfortch he and Cinaglia made a compelling duo (they also did most of the Acting this season lbr). also loved Nadia and Angelica however i think their relationship had not been sufficiently developed before, so the Known Scene did not hit me as much as Aureliano's ending back in s3, for example. oh and also Spadi and Victor (i think this was his name?) were great, it was nice to see Albe guide him the way he should've been guided and protected by someone, too. </3 overall like 6/10 at most, rip, but Suburra was never like. Prestige Tv, so it's fine!!! it's good evening entertainment!

I don't know how I feel about Brokeback Mountain. I saw it in theaters the year it came out, as a queer college kid in rural Missouri, and I didn't like it. I'd consumed plenty of queer media by this point--plays, movies, young adult books, essays, documentaries, and, of course, fanfic--and it just seemed so basic. Uninspiring. I remember saying to my mom that it would win the Oscar because it was controversial, but it really wasn't that good. I haven't seen it in 15 years, and I feel like I should go back and watch it with the weight of history. Was it groundbreaking? I guess it was a big deal that A-list actors chose to star in a mainstream gay romance movie, and that it was nominated for an Oscar. But it certainly wasn't the first mainstream movie with gay characters. Heck, the movie version of Rent came out a month earlier. Did it vibe more with straight people than previous movies with a gay cast? (And, a cynical part of my brain adds, is that because it treats gay romance as a tragedy?)
I don't know. Like I said, I haven't seen it in a long time. Maybe it's actually great. Maybe it changed opinions and propelled gay rights in ways I don't remember. It's just so weird to me to see this renaissance of people reminiscing about Brokeback Mountain.

🦋 Yesterday only I read the news that Fate is cancelled and it's hit me so hard today so I've been spending about an hour already on reading all the takes and, honestly, I'm impressed by how many fans are saying that they are not going anywhere and will keep producing new content and interacting with others. And it makes me really happy you are one of them :) You're adorable and smart and it's nice to know that Saul is your fave too! Do you think he'd get a happy ending in the end if there was another series? I'm glad he survived this one, but still a bit bitter with where his storyline eventually went.
you and me both babe 💕💕💕 It's devastating.
I love our little fandom and all the people saying they're not going anywhere is part of the reason for that. We've always been small but dedicated! And of course people will pick up new interests as time passes but I can't see the fandom fully fading away anytime soon.
And thank you for the compliments!! You're so sweet! I'm glad we agree on Saul haha.
If S3 in any way resembled the course of S2, then I don't think things would have ended well for him. All of his relationships were stripped away except for him and Sky, and I just see him being used as a vehicle for more Sky manpain in a supposed S3, probably dying towards the end (or weirdly in the middle like they did for Andreas) in some sort of sacrifice to literally and figuratively pass the torch to the kids.
Of course that's the opposite of what I want 😅 I'm now fully in the hc from @skloomdumpster that S3 opens with Saul running Alfea on his last threads when Griselda shows up to be the new headmistress. Cue lots of angsty conflict. Maybe Ben shows his face and there's some more angsty conflict. Basically all I want is angsty conflicted Saul but with a happy ending. Was that so much to ask???

You know I used to think "tumblr's absolute refusal to actually engage with the Trolley Problem in favor of insisting that there must be a third, morally pure option that doesn't require them to make a hard decision and anyone who asks them to make a binary choice is just a short-sighted idiot is really fucking annoying, but I guess it's not actually doing any harm".
Anyway that was before we asked tumblr at large to decide between "guy aiding a genocide but making progress elsewhere" and "guy who would actively and enthusiastically participate in a genocide and would also make everything else much, much worse for everyone elsewhere" and the response was that there must be a third, morally pure option that doesn't require them to make a hard decision and that anyone who asks them to make a binary choice is a short-sighted idiot.
