Larry's random conversarion lines 🍙
Pokémon Masters EX spoilers ahead!
Random conversation 1:
Tumblr media
Ever since I met a certain individual, I now find myself gazing up at the sky every once in a while. There's scenery you'll never even notice if you stick to flat, well-trodden paths. Just something I've observed. I don't dislike the vast, clear sky... But I don't think I can reach it. It's nice to know that there's something like that out there, though.
Random conversation 2:
Tumblr media
Pasio seems to have many good restaurants. Ah, I'm not asking for specific recommendations, though... I actually enjoy walking around and looking for a place I might like. That's part of the experience. I seek the exceptional only when it comes to food. Pasio has a variety of cuisines to choose from, so it's hard to stick to just one.
Random conversation 3:
Tumblr media
(Player), which do you tend to favor: the exceptional or the average? I was thinking of inviting you to have a meal sometime. Casually figuring out your client's preferences is a special skill that you learn as a salaried employee.
Random conversation 4:
Tumblr media
Lunchtime is one of the few things that a salaried employee like me can look forward to at work... We can decide whether to spend that precious time eating something familiar or trying out a new restaurant. It's not just about the meal. The decision-making process leading up to it is also something to look forward to.
Random conversation 5:
Tumblr media
People, Pokémon... There's no need to overcomplicate things. Nowadays people only seem to want a shock factor. Something weird, something bizarre. When all's said and done, simplicity is strongest.
Random conversation 6:
Tumblr media
You don't necessarily have to follow every instruction from your boss. But I pretend to follow them, at least, so I can avoid hassles later on. That's a technique you can use to get by in the workplace. Keep it in mind.
Random conversation 7:
Tumblr media
I'm here in this famous tourist spot, but I can't really spread my wings while my boss has her eye on me. I guess I'll do what I usually do on my lunch break and find a spot to Roost...

the whole "it would be kinder to kill them" exchange re-contextualizes murderbot's initial willingness-- even eagerness-- to kill other SecUnits in an interesting way, doesn't it.

So anyway you repeatedly say we only feel corn husks and similar inedible parts to cattle but Never add a source to back it up. Having worked on farms I’m afraid for the most part the feeds I’ve seen have been parts entirely edible to humans. And like fuck man 5% of all grown soy is fed to humans or however the stat goes, do you really think the remaining 95% is inedible? really?
Anyway yeah I’m asking for a source here cause I don’t want to add this on to months old post
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ingredients such as “grain by-products” are referring to the husks, stalks, and other “green” parts of the plant that we humans don’t actually have the digestive capabilities to eat. The breakdown of most livestock feeds looks like the above when you actually take a look at it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Different cattle feed, similar ingredients. Still primarily things that, and I have to stress this, you cannot eat. This one is slightly higher in quality and does indeed have actual grain products included. Some of those are edible to humans. Some are not. Generally cattle are fed cattle cubes with supplemental mineral licks and hay. Some also supplement with whole corn, but I can gladly assure you that corn is not in short supply and even if all the corn sold to animal feed was donated to the poor, you can’t actually live off of corn because there’s very little nutrition in it. Hence why in both human and animal food it’s typically seen as a filler ingredient. Keeps the mouth busy with a meal without making your stomach feel full and you end up eating more without feeling satisfied.
Soybeans are really only often used in feed for pigs because they’re a great source of protein for these animals. I would state that soy is also a terrible option to use as an emergency food for humans in need because while, yes, it is indeed a healthy bean, it’s also one of the top eight foods that humans are frequently allergic or intolerant towards. I’d also ask you for whether your 5% of all grown soy statistic is referring to the beans or the entire plant because yeah the beans are the edible part. The rest of the plant isn't especially healthy for humans to eat. I would say the beans are around 5% of a mature soy plant sure.

thinking about the 'I would never court Penelope Featherington' scene again and how angry our fandom has been at Colin for it for the last two years and wondering. . .what exactly was he meant to say?
Lord Fife and his friends are *slimy*. They are gross. They have 0 respect for women. Fife isn't *Colin's* friend. Fife is *Anthony's* friend. Fife runs in Anthony's circles. Misogynistic circles with misogynistic language. Fife and Co. are out here saying the debutantes are only good for being 'wed, bed, and bred'. Fife is the one out here, well into his 30s and with an established title, fucking an 18 year woman raw on her first year out in the marriage mart with 0 intention to marry her. That is 10000% an act of violence in this society. And you *know* he's bragging about it. Hell, he was probably bragging about it right before he asked Colin about Penelope.
Colin's not in those circles. Colin has female friends. Colin respects his mother. Colin cares for his sisters. The worst thing Colin has EVER said about a woman was to call her 'cruel'.
So. . .what is Colin meant to say? "No, we're just friends" isn't going to fly for people like Fife. As IF he wouldn't reply with 'Yeah, suuuuuure, wink wink nudge nudge'. Thus ruining Penelope and fucking over her future completely. A lesser man than Colin would have let them think what they wanted, and that would have still ruined Penelope in their eyes. Silence? Incriminating.
And he doesn't want FIFE of all people to know about his close friendship with Penelope. Fife who has never once been seen respecting a woman. Fife who has never once viewed a woman as a person and not a sexual conquest. Penelope is a safe place for Colin. Is precious to him. He KNOWS that conversation could have destroyed her reputation.
People talk about how he 'ruined her prospects', but in actuality, Colin responding the way he did. . .likely SAVED her prospects. There was NOTHING he could have said except for a vehement refusal, completely shutting down the conversation, that would have spared her from their judgement and cruelty. Sure, they laughed, and maybe it was at Pen. Maybe it was at Colin. (frankly, how good of a twist would it be if they WERE laughing at Colin? Colin the 'green' boy back from his travels after being oh so gullible and getting lied to by his ex fiance? Anthony made fun of Colin for being a virgin, we think these men, all 10+ years older than him, wouldn't do the same?) But at least they didn't go 'yeah, I guess she's a ruined woman' about it, because that *would* have destroyed her reputation
We talk about how Colin could have worded it differently, but honestly?
I think he said the exact right thing in those circumstances
#polin#penelope featherington#colin bridgerton#bridgerton#lord fife#lord cho#fife and company are so gross to me i do NOT understand the narrative of fife just wanting pen for himself#she's a little too old for him at this point considering he's looking for his girlfriend on a playground don't you think?#sorry not sorry i will forever be a colin apologist#no but really what should he have said????#'oh yeah we're fucking six ways to sunday?'#'no she's just my friend'? - Fife doesn't believe for a MOMENT that a man can value a woman as a friend#colin is the best man in that entire bunch but somehow he's the one we've demonized?#make it make sense#and sure he should apologize for talking about her behind her back- but Penelope should also then apologize for the same#we talk a lot about him being 'knocked off the pedestal' but in reality we've put him on the highest pedestal possible#colin is a GOOD man#he is arguably the best man in the entire series#at least he's the man with the best intentions and the least harm#and so when he fucks up we feel it ten fold because he was already so good#but when gross dudes fuck up we just expect it of them and give them a pass#we expect colin to not only be better- but to be perfect#and he isn't he can't be#he didn't say it perfectly#but OBVIOUSLY his intentions in that scene aren't malicious#and it's not locker room talk either?#look at the optics: Colin is 22 being asked by these 30+ year old dudes 'sooooo are you boinking the girl'?#one season after his engagement blew up publicly#in the season where no one listens to his travel stories#the season after he was virgin shamed

man. my company work is really messing with my head. every day i stress about doing it right so much so that i project the anxiety onto my personal art, always searching for mistakes, and i can't look at the result as something... unique and pretty. i really do forget than nobody can do it EXACTLY like me.

If you looked at the covers of the original French Inside and the USA Inside remake, and you hadn't also seen this post, I think you wouldn't be able to guess which one was which, or which one of them was the embarrassingly bad, artistically bankrupt version versus the heartfelt and emotionally gut wrenching version.

my only submarine hot take is that i think there's something weirdly fascinating about the way that everyone knows they obviously imploded on that first day but there's been this make believe kind of funeral march towards the inevitable minute zero of the oxygen supply. everyone has been obsessing over these imagined people in this imagined space and it's been a totally ineffective conjuration since nobody really believed these people have been trapped on the ocean floor for the best part of four days and yet so many people have been talking and operating in this pretend realm. the Posts aren't about the implosion the posts are all about this imagined dragged out slow death by asphyxiation and i think it's just interesting how this blatantly unreal narrative is what everyone glommed onto as their mode of expression for this event. i can't really think of any other time people so readily leaned into the pretend version of events like this?

dogbark, in both concept and execution, is just so interesting to me. i think the trailer they uploaded before they started making content regularly was a bad way to showcase their ideas of what they wanted to make for the channel, precisely because those ideas weren't solidified yet. and honestly, i believe the trailer becomes a bit worse the more the crew finds their footing in more recent content
personally, the trailer generally represents dogbark (and parts of achievement hunter before it ended, rip) with its weaker qualities. overly edited with jumpcuts and some louder, goofy-ass sound effects sprinkled in that makes it harder to focus on the video itself. outside that video, everything else on the channel that has someone saying a curse word is inexplicably bleeped out on their site and youtube. with the channel being newer, i don't know if they have a specific target audience in mind, since those that came from AH have long adapted to their crude humor, but they may not vibe with what dogbark does because it feels more childish in comparison. it's like watching someone go through an identity crisis with how the group don't know what they want to be lol
i stuck around beyond the initial video because i know these guys are funny, having watched AH for almost 9 years up until everything with matt went down. i think their chemistry is strongest with live action videos that have little to nothing to do with improv sketch comedy. i'm more than happy that they're seemingly focusing on that more in the last month. the gameplay videos also get better over time, but that's a given, seeing that that's what their previous jobs were. the dogbark boys aren't strangers to improv, with or without video games as a jumping off point. the problem is that they seem to be so inexperienced with this type of comedy they spent so much of the channel trailer focusing on
like, the improv content is the one thing that's stayed more or less the same since day 1, imo. the green screen improv videos i have found myself enjoying thoroughly are the ones that aren't exclusively michael, trevor, alfredo, and/or joe, weirdly enough. any other friend/rt employee with any combination of the dogbark boys feels more natural to me since they can explore more unique scenarios and have some new, fun dynamics to explore. with just the db crew themselves, it has the same energy as a high school improv group who just started taking classes. it's most likely fun to be a part of, but not necessarily fun to watch at a consistent rate
i wish i had more positive things to say about their other content that i do enjoy for a fairer opinion. however, the stuff i want to see more of like their podcast beyond episode 1 is first-exclusive (why???), which is bizarre for a new channel, but there's nothing i can do about it. that's why i come here to complain <3

Maybe it's because they're closer in the manga, but I feel that Saitama is more regretful with himself than pissed off with Genos. We didnt' see his face when he kicked Genos out and we didn't see it either in this chapter when he believes that he has nothing to teach Genos. I think since the MA, but specially after the "glowing" spar, he feels kinda bad for not being a good sensei.
Referring to this part in the new chapter? Where Saitama's drawn with his back turned to us?
Tumblr media
Even in the wc (where the paneling's similar) I didn't get the impression he was pissed at Genos really, perhaps more upset at the disruptive to downright destructive lengths Genos will go for his sake--still undeterred to remain Very Close by his side (in this case, rudely stealing his neighbor's apartment) when Saitama believes going that far isn't necessary for what little he can offer him in return. :') Perhaps he regrets how it's escalated to this point of no return, while both struggling (failing) to set personal barriers AND for not knowing how best to help Genos... (He definitely felt bad when he noticed Genos feeling down and failed to communicate any proper 'sensei' encouragement.)
If anything, Saitama was getting more pissed at King this ch for effortlessly wiping the floor with him while simultaneously lamenting his own powerlessness + lack of options (as if Saitama's efforts to improve at gaming were getting dismissed as worthless here, and yet, Saitama didn't realize he was kinda dismissing King's real-world efforts to improve with such a flippant 'solution' in response...I had hoped he'd be more receptive to King's problem in the manga, but it seems 'lifting weights' is still the only advice he can say to friends and visiting acquaintances alike...)
But Saitama's dilemma honestly felt like it paralleled King's situation this ch--where both of them feel stuck and unqualified in a role with such high idolized expectations of them (ie falsely being seen as an amazing teacher or strongest superhero), when they believe they have nothing else of value (with no other option) they can offer. In Saitama's case we know there's more he can teach, and already has taught Genos, that goes beyond the realm he thinks he knows. (For example: temperance, humanity, self-preservation, strengthening of the heart.) And in King's case there's more he can do, and already has done as a hero, that goes beyond the realm of becoming physically stronger. (For example: all his bravery to escort or intervene to save lives, from children to fellow heroes to even Garou at the end of his arc - yes I definitely count it as King stepping in and using his reputation to do the right thing!) But alas, does either character even realize this or know what they've already done? welp...
But the biggest thing - if Saitama didn't like Genos or wanted to cut him out of his life entirely, then we would know, the same way he slams the door in the faces of unwanted visitors. (Surprise: not Flash this time as in the wc, but Fubuki.) The difference is that Saitama is still expectant to welcome Genos into his life (literally, his home), and still wants to do activities with him, so that's pretty significant. Even if he feels horribly unfit to be a teacher for him (after all, muscle training is useless to a cyborg) and regrets how he can't help him the way Genos wants, feeling wholly inadequate to match his earnest expectations and seriousness about this.
But you know, somehow I feel...beyond struggling to be a better 'sensei,' what Saitama really values (and prefers) is his companionship, but struggles how best to communicate that (or how to define what he actually wants) with him beyond their usual set routine. Cause he's tried to set more normal 'personal space' boundaries, and it's not like he's said he doesn't want to be his sensei anymore at all either--even privately to himself, and yet...if Saitama didn't feel bound by the roles they've already established, then what other meaningful (or casual) interactions, towards even a different type of relationship, could he gain beyond that instead? Saitama probably hasn't even considered his other options with Genos or worked it out that far yet...
