The phrase that I've been using to help myself with this issue lately is, "No matter the conflict, someone needs to make pillows." Because, no matter how fervent a person's passion is or how enduring their stamina, everyone will eventually need to take a moment to rest. And, when that time comes, the most helpful thing you can do is give them a pillow.

I'm not great at protesting, spreading awareness, going to rallies, or other such obvious ways of helping; my stamina for all that is absolute crap and it's terrible for my mental health to boot (anxiety-depression combo for the loss, baby). But b'golly if I'm not great at writing stories and coming up with concepts that make people smile and feel good! I can create spaces where people feel safe, at least mentally, for the length of time they're with me.

The world is terrifying at the moment, no denying, and it is the time to shout, to fight, to band together. And being able to weave a place of beauty and comfort, if only for a few panels, for a few thousand words, isn't a frivolous skill, it's a necessity. And possibly the most radical idea of all at the moment is that we can survive this and be happy.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that posting art online is like screaming into a void 🙃🦉✌️

The new year holds a lot of issues for me. Art is difficult, life as an artist is difficult, and the world isn't kind. The sense of impending doom and failure looms over me. Why is nothing ever easy?

If you have an Apple product you need to hear this,

In the latest update Apple has added and insidious Ai to every single one of your apps

You will need to manually turn this off to stop Ai from using your apps as a learning base

First:

Head to settings and find the Apple Intelligence & Siri tab

Second:

if you scroll to the bottom of that tab you should find an option to see your apps and a separate option to see apps clips (these can be done in either order but I’ll explain clips first)

Third:

You should come to this screen with an option of “Learn from Apps Clips”, make sure to turn that off (if it’s green it’s still on)

Fourth:

Head back and click onto the apps section, this should bring you to a screen with all your apps

You’re going to have to click on every single one of your apps and turn it off manually (Apple has deliberately made it as tedious as possible in a way to discourage people doing this)

Fifth:

SHARE THIS INFORMATION!! either via my post or making your own,

Every uninformed person is another source of content for Ai to steal from, don’t let this undermine us

As far as I’m aware that’s everything, but there may be more

Hello again, Wish Rewrite fandom! Last night, I spontaneously decided to create another piece of fanart for the amazing @oh-shtars's RFTS!AU. I was hesitant about posting it because I wasn't entirely happy with how it turned out, but I spent so much time on it that I figured I'd share it anyway.

I was incredibly inspired by the latest RFTS!AU lore drop, which delved deeper into Sueño's mindset while he was trapped with the royal couple. Flicker, your angst always hits me hard (in a good way). The victim-blaming Sueño endured was especially impactful. I aimed to capture that in my piece, particularly by highlighting the cuffs around his wrists. I think it was mentioned that these cuffs were an extra safety precaution that prevented Sueño from leaving Rosas, making it easier to recapture him. Having such a visible symbol of powerlessness on his wrists must have been pretty hard on his psyche.

I also originally had a starry night background, but then I remembered a piece of lore from a while back, which mentioned that Magnifico kept the nights cloudy so the other stars from the Astral Realm couldn't reach Sueño.

Alright, that's all for now. Maybe I'll get around to drawing the other characters from the RFTS!AU (and some other Wish Rewrite AUs) as well. Toodles!
