This is so motivating!! But also shows how hard it is to make good art like this.

Like, you gotta do all this sketching, and lineart, and coloring, and shading, and from my experience this is tough and time-consuming and ARGHHHHH... The sketching part is fun, but everything after is like GEEZ am I doing this right, or am I making a mess...

I redrew the Jayfeather image I drew when I was 9! 11-12 years difference

Not as blue as I wanted him to be like the original but sometimes colours can get muddled up while i'm painting

I heard it was the in stars and time anniversary either coming up or today and I wanted to do fan art for it so I did a little Doodle unfortunately I just don't have the energy to finish anything like this today but I hope you all like it

you can't disappoint or fail yourself if you don't start, right? yea that's my thought process

drawing and colouring for college assignments can really do something to your personal enjoyment to just create things

simple advice for anyone:

Romanticise the action of creating art. It doesn't have to turn out good, just learn to love the process instead of focusing on the outcome.

Anyone else feel weirdly guilty sometimes when sitting down to draw (or write or similar) and a bit anxious? What is this about?!

There's not a single damn thing wrong with wanting people to love the thing you've worked so hard to put out into the world. You're not wrong for wanting likes, kudos, reblogs, comments, and other forms of validation on your work, whatever it may be. This is a normal human need, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Humans are (more or less) social creatures, and crave interaction and validation from one another, whether it's in person or from strangers on the Internet.

And YOU. If you're out there enjoying the fruits of people's hard work, be it art or writing or whatever, please remember they want you to love it as much as they love it, and it will make their fucking day if you tell them you do.

Here is a(no-so-good???) tip for when you don't immediatly get the validation you need for your creativity

Obviously you can't force consumers of your work to like, comment etc; and so you have no choice but to be patient as you wait for the validation to come, right?

Right. That's okay. YES be patient, but DO NOT pretend that you're not dying for the feedback, compliments, likes, kudos, etc.

I swear the pain is worse when you pretend not to care.

So, I'll kick this off by admitting that my name is includedisco, I work fucking hard in my fanfics and enjoy the hell out of writing them; so YES I want everyone to see my works, love them and to compliment my writing or tell me where I'm missing it. I'm not ashamed to say I WANT THE LOVE, I refresh my ao3 every little while to see about kudos and comments🤭 and I write with anticipation of chatting with my readers about my story

nothing ruins the experience of creating art for me as much as perfectionism and the consuming feeling of I liked it seconds ago but now I hate it with my whole heart cause I could’ve done better but I didn’t and now it’s not as perfect as I wanted to and I want to lie down on the ground and be consumed by it

Hello again, Wish Rewrite fandom! Last night, I spontaneously decided to create another piece of fanart for the amazing @oh-shtars's RFTS!AU. I was hesitant about posting it because I wasn't entirely happy with how it turned out, but I spent so much time on it that I figured I'd share it anyway.

I was incredibly inspired by the latest RFTS!AU lore drop, which delved deeper into Sueño's mindset while he was trapped with the royal couple. Flicker, your angst always hits me hard (in a good way). The victim-blaming Sueño endured was especially impactful. I aimed to capture that in my piece, particularly by highlighting the cuffs around his wrists. I think it was mentioned that these cuffs were an extra safety precaution that prevented Sueño from leaving Rosas, making it easier to recapture him. Having such a visible symbol of powerlessness on his wrists must have been pretty hard on his psyche.

I also originally had a starry night background, but then I remembered a piece of lore from a while back, which mentioned that Magnifico kept the nights cloudy so the other stars from the Astral Realm couldn't reach Sueño.

Alright, that's all for now. Maybe I'll get around to drawing the other characters from the RFTS!AU (and some other Wish Rewrite AUs) as well. Toodles!
