What would the daily life of your cult members look like?
lol not sure what you're expecting. i mean, right now? or rather, whenever i actually officially start "recruiting" people? probably not much will change for a person at first. it's not like you're gonna have a strictly regimented daily schedule or anything. the goal is to build a community of like-minded kindred spirits and strive to put our ideas into practice. those specific ideas will be revealed upon joining, obviously. though i'm sure you can get an idea of some things based on my posts.
#like the only real changes is#you'll join our community and make new friends and hopefully do some self-improvement#you'll read more#pray/make offerings#you'll learn stuff#you'll maybe be required to be present for meetings or votes or something#will probably have to pay dues eventually#you'll be encouraged to keep healthy#do adventurous things#unironically a large part of it is just living well#together#virtually at first#but hopefully someday we can buy some land and build a commune#that's the dream#oh and you'll probably have to join discussions#well you won't /have/ to#but it would be highly encouraged#there will probably be homework sometimes#and sometimes maybe some specific ad hoc tasks#and obviously if you're given an official position there will be more responsibilities#but i can't really generalize about that#but yeah it's not like you're going to have a strict schedule where#you are forced to wake up at 6 am and kowtow for 2 hours#it's not supposed to be some creepy abusive cult#it's like sikhism or something#where you're just meant to live well and honor the gods and practice your ideals#oh you'll probably be encouraged to volunteer and do community service#and hopefully someday we can do our own fundraisers and community service#that is the dream#to have enough people in an area where we can buy some property and get together and do work irl

"Kuina's death is ridiculous" yes! That's the point! You do realize that falling down the stairs is a way of showing Zoro how fragile human lives are, right? You are aware that the point of Kuina's character is the unfairness of the world towards women in comparison to the privileges men have, like living in itself and fulfilling their dreams, right? You know that Kuina's death is "ridiculous and dumb" because it's meant to show that even the strongest person Zoro knew could die from something so little, right? You understand that the value Zoro gives to life is fucking immense, right? Right?? You realize Zoro can't seek revenge because nobody took her away from him and now the only thing he can do is become the world's greatest swordsman to avenge her death, right? You get that Zoro's character is an atheist because he doesn't believe in anyone and he can only rely on himself when it comes to Kuina's sudden death, right? You are aware that sometimes people die in the simplest of ways and that doesn't make them weak because death doesn't discriminate, right? You know that all of these things are what make Zoro's character so interesting and important, right? Right??? You know, right?
Well, of course you fucking don't because if you knew you wouldn't be saying her death is ridiculous <3

i've been thinking about that scene in ep 3 when annabeth apologizes to percy before pushing him into the lake. and on the surface, it seems like she's apologizing in advance for her actions. but what if she's actually expressing sympathy toward percy for how his life will change once his father claims him? once he has to suffer through the same torment as thalia did? once he becomes the outcast amongst the group of demigods who understand his struggles but will do little to help him through it?

#jay rambles.txt#two very hard pills to swallow: 1. art has always been created for money and it's a very normal practice in human history#and actually artists being expected to produce art for free or as cheap as they do now is a relatively new thing#2. humans have always created art for validation because being recognised and understood by your fellow humans is a universal human need#if you start to idealise artistry as something inherently selfless that needs to come with no gain or benefits or instead brings only pain#you are going down a VERY dangerous path of not being able to express yourself without shame - if at all#and potentially dragging other people you told close down into that mentality too if you're vocal about it#I've been there#I am there#It's a shitty feeling but the only way out of it is true embrace your need to be loved and desire for human connection or it won't end well#idk that's my opinion tho
