I have to say that, for all that the increased ads on tumblr mobile is annoying, there's something to be said about the comedic aspects of scrolling past a post about heat stroke in dogs and witnessing the repeated misadventures of the most unappealing, unlucky, unfortunate-looking woman ever.

seeing a speedrun of botw all dungeons and even like that .... its so strange how soulless totk feels to me when botw didnt, allthough it feels much flatter to me now since i know there wasnt any thought put into the things i thought were meaningful and that it will go nowhere in the end

and yet still it feels like its got soul that totk just hasnt; botw is far from perfect, like everything really, but totk to me really feels like a clunky grind game with no trust in the player at all, be it puzzles or 'story', and a fundamental missunderstanding of why botws world design and structure worked well as a whole in the end

i honestly still cant quite understand how on earth botw got totk as its 'sequel', all the things that needed work in botw where neglected or made worse totk while it also failed to follow up on literally anything in a meaningful way- when i still think the changes it needed where so OBVIOUS and the directions to follow up and expand on things to enhance not just the sequel but also botw in retrospect where so plenty and ready for the taking, it hurts me still even to think about it not being done and everything really being actively thrown away for NOTHING or things that make it AND botw WORSE in retrospect instead

i wont ever be able to forgive that, and some part of me hopes that this is the worst that they will ever do so at least we will get better games again in the future

Mobile game ads are weird as fuck.

I legit just saw an ad for Matchington Mansion that opened like so:

*man and woman laying in bed together, woman is NOT obviously pregnant*

CAPTIONS: "Me when I have a stomach ache"

*woman's water breaks, baby appears out her ass suddenly, full on just pops out through her clothes and ass.

Did I mention the baby was fully haired and nicely dressed in a diaper? < it looked like she gave birth to a full ass 2 year old wtf?? *

Husband: YOU BIRTHED THE BED!

*grabs a fucking chainsaw and cuts the bed in half, dropping her off of it.*

does anyone else get bothered by like. voice actors not being properly credited. is this just me.

like, to start, there are games that are GOOD about crediting their voice actors (genshin impact, honkai: star rail - information on who voices what character is readily available in game for playable characters, and easy enough to find for npcs)

but even hsr, i was watching one of their trailers the other day where clearly like 5 or 6 different people speak in it, and only 2 were credited???

and there are some games that don't give you that information at all. for example, i've also been playing afk journey recently, and liking it a lot, but there is NO information anywhere on what voice actors were involved. at all.

and it's been especially egregious in mobile games recently where there's just. no way to tell if human voice actors even touched the project at all. and it unfortunately makes me wonder if ai voices have been used in some of the games. like. that's the only reason i can think of why they'd be so reluctant to give credit to the voice actors, is if there weren't any voice actors. 😭
