the one thing i will say on the Trump verdict is I'm seeing a lot of posts about basically "how can we let a FELON run for PRESIDENT (and/or vote)" which is making me feel very "don't make me tap the sign" about why folks who've been convicted of felonies also deserve the right to run for office/vote and how creating categories of people who are not allowed to run for office/vote is a great way to incentivize pushing political opponents (or members of marginalized groups) into those categories in order to disenfranchise and disempower them

#i do think he should be disqualified under the 14th amendment but that's...not really what this trial was about #and i just would like folks to be a teensy bit more mindful of what you're talking about when ur like #''we're going to let a FELON run for PRESIDENT''#when like. if you get charged twice for having weed on you that could be a felony #(this is an oversimplification but like u get the point right. like US folks we know abt the injustice inherent in our ''justice'' system #and how historically that has & continues to be used to benefit folks just like trump #right?#like we know that folks convicted of felonies or formerly incarcerated people should not be excommunicated from the political system right?#it is important to me that us folks know this)#anyway this is my soapbox for the night #catch me next time when a) someone talks about how ADDICTS are inherently TERRIBLE or (more likely) b) ballet is portrayed stupidly in medi #personal

My beautiful baby dog absolutely crushed the field trials this weekend and pulled TWO third places over some really competitive and experienced puppies! I'm so so so proud of how she ran this weekend and I'm so happy the judges saw the same potential in her that I do 💛💛

Rory's first experience with people on horseback!#we've worked on being chill around horses but never encountered people on horseback #she gave them one glance and then moved on without issue #our first run was with a friend she knows #it took her a few minutes to stop trying to play and get her head in the game #but she worked suuuuper hard and ran really well #our second run was with another baby puppy #and they both wanted to play so bad #after a few minutes the judges asked us to split up and the dogs got to work beautifully #for both runs she ranged appropriately ran fast and checked the terrain thoroughly #she was also SUPER responsive #took directions beautifully and recalled perfectly #it was extremely fun i couldnt ask for better puppy runs #we're done for the summer but will run again in september #ckc pointing dog field trial

Once again feeling annoyed that basically no one in the rrverse fandom acknowledges Apollo. They're always like "oh we need more rep, surely this this and this character is secretly queer and rick just won't admit it or something" when man. Lester's RIGHT there. Why are you ignoring CANON queer content, then acting like it'd be better for the author to retcon some shoehorned queering of straight characters into existence? Like. It's fun to have previously straight characters be changed to be queer, but that obviously wouldn't be the intention the whole time, and it's kind of disingenuous for an author to pretend it was intentional all along and get praised for it. I feel insane, shouting at people who want more lgbt characters in pjo like "LESTER EXISTS AND HES LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT." Would PERCY ever say he has a "frisson of pleasure go up his back" at the thought of pipers hot dad? No. He wouldn't, thank you very much.

That 2nd speech happened. It's canon. And Dean grew over the course of the series.

I did not pull that hope out of my ass because I don't "get" SPN.

Dabb and Singer set their trap and I ate the cheese and they sprung the trap. Perhaps the hope was there just to make it hurt worse, to make us feel (because sometimes creatives lose sight of the fact there is more than one way to make people feel) when that grim prophecy got fulfilled instead of being overturned.

Anyway Dean's story isn't over. *raises glass* Here's to the revival. No, I don't expect any retcons. Heaven storyline's not going away. But something more fulfilling than what aired for the series finale, I can go for that.
