HELLO..
My name is Jameela Al-Dahdouh from Gaza. I am 70 years old, and I live with my elderly husband, Jamal, who is 76 and unemployed. We are trapped between the walls of fear, despair, and deep sadness due to the ongoing war in Gaza. I am in desperate need of help from every person with a live conscience and a compassionate heart who understands the true meaning of humanity.
I am suffering from cancer, high blood pressure, and diabetes. I have undergone surgeries to remove the affected organs. As a result of the disease, my body has swollen and become severely inflamed. Due to the war in Gaza, I have been unable to continue my required treatment and undergo the necessary surgeries.
I am actively seeking to travel abroad to undergo the necessary surgeries and complete the required doses of treatment.
I dream of receiving the medical care needed to continue living a dignified life with my husband, where we can feel safe and stable. Please help me achieve this dream through your kind donations, which will undoubtedly have a tremendous impact in saving my life.
The funds raised will be used for:
• Food and water, ensuring access to daily necessities.
• Traveling to receive the necessary medical services and undergo the required surgeries as prescribed by specialist doctors.
• Medical treatments, ensuring the provision of essential healthcare supplies and required medications.
A Message from Jameela and Her Husband
"I have always believed in the kindness of others and the strength of community. This situation is something I never imagined, but I know that with your kind help, we can find hope and stability again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support you can provide."
Every Contribution Matters
No donation is too small; every contribution brings us one step closer to relief and a better future. Even if you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network can make a significant difference.
Gratitude and Appreciation
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your generous kindness. You can help us overcome these difficult times.

Save My Family From the war nightmare in Gaza
Hello My name is Neama, I'm 24 years old and I'm trying to save my family from the war. I used to work for the medical staff and help treat patients and children through my profession as a medical analysis specialist. We are the ones who separate doubt and certainty, but the occupation came and we were displaced. Because of this harsh war, I couldn't continue my profession of helping and saving children, and this saddens me.
My father, Mohammed, is 69 years old, and my mother, Amal, is 60 years old. We are a family of 7 (Ahmed, 32 years old, Alaa, 36 years old, Mariam, 27 years old, Ne’ma, 24 years old, Mahmoud, 22 years old) and the family of my widowed sister, 38 years old, who has four orphaned children (Tulin, 10 years old, Obaida, 9 years old, Laith, 6 years old, Ghaith, 5 years old). We lived a life full of happiness. We had dreams that were shattered by the barbaric Israeli attack that does not differentiate between young and old. After our house was completely destroyed, we were displaced to the southern Gaza Strip in search of a safe life, but this enemy does not differentiate at all and targets us in the shelter tents and their harsh conditions of extreme heat, lack of privacy, abundance of insects, and scarcity of water and food. We are now suffering from famine because of this war.
My father, Mohammed, suffers from a chronic disease (chronic pulmonary obstruction and difficulty breathing), and his condition has deteriorated, making him depend on oxygen tubes. One of my sisters has special needs (quadriplegia), while my other sister is a widow with four orphaned children and suffers from a chronic illness (ulcerative colitis)
You can contribute in any way you see fit to move my family out of Gaza to get the necessary medical treatment and live in a safe environment, every effort creates a useful impact and contributes to making a real difference. Through financial donations, you can contribute any amount you see fit, whether small or large, via the link or share it with your friends and anyone who can help us
Thank you very much for your humanity and standing with us. We hope that the war will end and peace will prevail in the world. Thank you all in advance for your support. May God protect and bless us all

Totally self indulgent but how would they help take care of a chronically ill partner? (Poly if you don't mind)
((also yes I am having a bad day))
I'm so sorry to hear you're having a bad day, baby, I wish I could be there to help you through it :( These speedrun headcanons just for you are the least I could do, of course. I tried to keep it general enough without making it about any particular disease, because at the end of the day, whatever you're going through, they will be there for you no matter what.
CW: gn!reader with unspecified chronic illness, thus mentions of medical themes, medications, treatments, doctors and some things our bodies go through, symptoms and such. Also some controlling/soft dom/caretaker behaviour I guess, but without dabbling into CGL territory. Last paragraph is suggestive, but not explicit.
So, with any chronic disease, there are better days and worse days, ups and downs, and sometimes bad days happen unpredictably, sometimes you can kinda feel them coming, sometimes you just know that whatever you just did, be it going out all night for the concert of your favourite music band or just spoiling yourself with food you know will fuck you up but tastes too good to pass - and throughout all that your four partners stay attentive and vigilant.
Each and every one of them (even Soap, however unlikely) knows the importance of routine. They're military, they have no problem adhering to the same set of regular actions - as well as reacting to sudden changes and giving immediate appropriate response. Honestly, they're pretty damn good as caretakers, once they get clear in structions on what needs to be done.
Price goes with you to doctor appointments and all the treatment you need outside home. He's driving you there, waiting at the door (maybe eavesdropping while he pretends to fall asleep in the uncomfortable chair with his chin tucked and his hat laying in his lap. maybe actually falling asleep and waking up with horrifying neck cracking), asking a hundred questions after the doctor lets you out - to the point where it starts to look more like an interrogation. He does want to know everything, though, since only with full information on hands he can assess the situation and work out a plan of action. He wants to know what's the status, what meds you need to take and for what, how often, what side effects are possible, what else needs to be done - he makes your doctor give him a full on lecture, even if you already explaind half of that to them all previously. After he gets what he wanted from the poor medic, he still pulls on some strings to get you seen by specialists he's confident in. Sure, your doc might've been treating you for god knows how long, but a second (a third and maybe even fourth) opinion won't hurt, right?
Ghost gets your (and everyone else's, because Price fucked up his joints and spine more times than it's acceptable, Gaz has allergies and Soap needs his adderall. Ghost himself takes half of the pharmacy's supply, poor guy's messed up in all kinds of way) meds and also makes sure you and the boys take them regularly, especially if they're the type to be taken strictly on time. He brings your morning pills to you in bed with water and a little sandwich if you need to take them not on empty stomach, and if he has to be out at the time you need them, he always sends you a reminder - and expects you to report to him quickly, otherwise he's calling you and then one of the guys that can come and make sure you're being good. If you're having a bad head day and can't make yourself take these fucking pills that can't even "fix" you (or whatever bad thoughts you're having), Simon's going extremely soft - he just sits next to you and feeds you one pill after another, kissing you for every one you swallow, and then does same with his stash, "demanding" rewarding kisses from you with an adorably serious face. He knows better than anyone how much needing to do this every damn day can fuck with your mind, so he's patient, but he can't let you neglect yourself.
(Soap gets no such treatment, if that little shit tries to wiggle his way out of taking his meds, they get shoved into his mouth. He still gets his rewarding kiss, though, with Ghost's steel grip on his jaw, and this honestly looks like Simon tries to kill him via sucking his internal organs out of his mouth. Mind end up sucking something else-)
Gaz is just steadily making everything he can as accomodating as possible. If your headaches make you sensitive to smells, he makes sure nothing in the house can cause a bad reaction, he watches everyone's allergies, buys groceries to fit your diet and makes sure other products like soap or cleaning supplies won't be bad to you. He's the one who will find non-constraining clothes out of fabric that won't irritate your body - very stylish and just how you lik them, he's looking into furniture and appliances that can make it easier to deal with if you're in pain or can't hold shit properly because of joint pain (not only for you, Price and Ghost both get days when their knuckles hurt LIKE HELL). He might've had experience caring for a relative, or maybe he's just extremely good at research, but he just comes up with solutions you didn't even know could help.
Soap is the service dog. He's ready to run any errand, pick up every task you give him, provide immediate help as soon as you call for him. He's cuddling you through flares, fetching blankets or tea, literally catching you if you suddenly get a horrible cramp and fold in half. This man will go to the bathroom with you and keep you steady while you throw up, or literally kneel on the tile floor and wipe your tears if you get really bad bowel problems. He's seen people get shredded into pieces and watched their internal organs become external, he won't be put off by anything a human body can do. None of them will, to be honest, but Soap is just always the first to hold your hand through whatever hell you're going through.
But the other thing Soap does - is make you feel normal. He's not tiptoeing around you, treating you like a fragile doll that can't be played with, no; he'll fucking prank you, tease you, rile you up and haunt you as long as it makes you smile and helps you forget about that thing that impacts you every day while other people get to live without it. He's your personal hospital clown, and honestly, if you need to go to hospital, he might actually sneak inside in a clown costume (how the fuck did no one see and stop a huge ass man with a honking red nose and rainbow onesie walking through the corridors?) and entertain you. His family never let him feel like he was different despite the obvious struggles he faced with his ADHD (that wasn't diagnosed straight away too and went unmedicated for quite some time), and he'd rather die than let you feel like you're missing out on all the fun life has to offer because some days you can't even leave your bed as your body acts out.
They watch your diet and find ways to make it as diverse as possible, no matter how limited it is. Gaz is the one who makes groceries lists and often goes shopping, but all four of them take turns cooking (a man's place is in the kitchen, even if it gets cramped with all four of these dudes there) and experimenting with food. Gaz is the best cook by far, and the second to best is surprisingly Soap! Price actually isn't all that inventive in the kitchen (he just knows what he likes and doesn't venture out much, but what he does he does well), and Ghost... his main culinary innovations are in the stupid smiley faces and skulls he makes out of everything. How did he manage that with soup? I dunno, ask him.
They know your patterns and habits, sometimes they can tell the illness will flare before even you do, from the subtle changes in your appearance or behaviour. Maybe you're sweating just a little too much today and Gaz saw the stains on your shirt while doing the laundry, or your heartrate is off under Ghost's sharp ear as he nestles into his favourite place in the world - your arms. Perhaps Price noticed you ate not enough of your breakfast or Soap grabs your hand and feels it's colder than should be.
First thing they do is check in with you - Ghost is extremely straightforward and demanding about it, making you recite what you did recently that could cause a flare and asking you all about how you're feeling; Soap slips into worry immediately and starts with a question what he can do for you. Gaz goes a sly route, tugging you away from whatever you were doing, snuggling with you on the bed or the couch and peppering you with kisses, purring into your ear sweet nothings mixed with questions until he coaxes all the information from you. Price doesn't even ask at first: he immediately goes into action, the most basic care provided before he even says anything.
They do listen to you, though. If you're not feeling the worst and don't need immediate help, they just stay around to watch after you, but always communicate to others that extra care might come in handy today. Probably still try to convince you to go easy with your tasks, be it studying, work or chores, and help with whatever they can.
However, if it is bad, you kinda lose autonomy. Work? Forget about it. Chores are on them for the next week, no exceptions. You're lifted off your feet and brought to bed by Soap, everything arranged into a comfortable way by Gaz by the time they carefully lower you there. If you need to sit up to lessen the symptoms, they put pillows behind your back, but Soap prefers when he can cradle you against his chest and serve as a heat pillow himself - especially if his hot hands can make tummy or joint pain better. But if heat is the thing you don't need at all, he'll stay next to you, ready to jump at your first word.
Meds and water in Ghost's hand, waiting for you to take them patiently. While Price takes care of your unfinished business (and makes sure you won't go to work/school/uni next few days), Gaz ensures your body is taken care of - maybe you need a gentle massage or just sweat and teares wiped off, he's there, cooing at you and kissing your skin gently.
If you need bathroom, you're getting carried there, but if it's just to throw up, Soap's already got a bucket at the ready, and he and Gaz will support your body through the nausea, another glass of water appearing with silent Ghost by the end of it.
You're getting all the entertainment you want: Gaz and Soap will only be happy if you want to play computer games with them (or, if you can't, you can just watch them, and they'll goof around to keep your mind off your state). You want to continue that book you're reading, but it's hard to hold it and your eyes hurt? No audiobooks while you have Price there, he'll read you aloud. A movie? Hell yeah they'll all gather around with whatever snacks you can digest at the moment and watch whatever you want (and if Ghost or Price fall asleep, you can prank them via Sergeants' proxy).
Some other little things:
They all either quit smoking or make sure it doesn't affect you even with the smell.
Price keeps on top of all your vaccines and screenings. Don't even need to remember them, he can wake up in the middle of the night and recite all of the needed information. Can get quite strict and controlling if you try to get out of appointments - and also spends almost unhealthy amount of time reseatching what else can be done, including trying all kinds of experimental treatments and some not even fully scientific ones (like acupuncture. who fucking knows, eh?)
Ghost is the best out of all of your men to confide in when the illness takes toll on your mental health. He knows what drowning in your mind feels like, and he'll be there to reach out a hand and keep you afloat. He's actually good with words on these topics, and his voice grounds you - but if you need silent companionship or a firm chest to sob into, he can provide that too.
Soap actually often gets angry about your condition - not at you, of course, but the sheer unfairness of his beloved person suffering with no end, no matter how much all four boys do for you, weighs on him. The others might have caught him actually crying in the middle of letting steam off in the gym, he hates being powerless against a fucking disease.
Gaz loves when you let him take care of your body and appearance. Be it simply helping you take a bath/shower, shaving if you want but can't manage, brushing your hair for you, massaging oils, lotions or ointments into your skin... if you feel self-conscious about your appearance on flare days, he will obviously reassure you with other boys (as if they wouldn't love you in any condition, for fuck's sake, they're here because you make them feel the happiest they've ever been, not because you look like a model 24/7), but if it will make you feel better, he'll help you with a nice hairdo that won't burden your scalp, dress you up prettily, helping you put on every clothing piece with reverent kisses along the way, and do your makeup if you do it. Will he join you in all that and get all pretty too? Hell yeah! Might even catch Soap and get him dolled up too.
And finally, you won't find more accommodating people for intimacy. Whatever your limits are, they're never crossing them, choosing positions you won't feel uncomfortable in, being careful not to overwhelm you, discussing everything you want to try in sex with possible complications in mind. They're fine not doing anything at all; they're fine with doing no penetration; they're fine with extensive foreplay... definitely using all kinds of devices to make the experience better for you. Potentially asking your doctor questions on what's okay and what's not, even if you're screaming not to, lol.
They just love you, and they're ready to take everything off your shoulders as soon as you need it.
Hope you feel better soon, lovie <3

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
October 7, 2024 (Monday)
People in Florida are evacuating before Hurricane Milton is expected to hit the state’s Gulf Coast on Wednesday evening, bringing tornadoes, high winds, a dramatic storm surge, and upwards of 15 inches of rain. Milton grew from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane in a little over a day, fed by water in the Gulf of Mexico that climate change has pushed in some places to 4 degrees Fahrenheit (2.2 degrees Celsius) higher than normal. Veteran Florida meteorologist and hurricane specialist John Morales choked up as he called it “horrific.”
President Joe Biden has approved an emergency declaration for Florida, enabling the federal government to move supplies in ahead of the storm’s arrival, but the state’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, has refused to take a call from Vice President Kamala Harris about planning for the storm. When asked about DeSantis’s refusal at today’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre noted that the president and vice president have reached out to give support to the people of Florida.
As for DeSantis, “It’s up to him if he wants to respond to us or not. But what we're doing is we’re working with state and local officials to make sure that we are pre-positioned to make sure that we are ready to be there for the communities that are going to be impacted. We are doing the job… to protect the communities and to make sure that they have everything that is needed." When asked about DeSantis’s snub, Harris answered: “It’s just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish, and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.”
Before this year, Florida had goals of moving toward clean energy, but in May 2024, DeSantis signed a law to restructure the state’s energy policy so that addressing climate change would no longer be a priority. The law deleted any mention of climate change in state laws. Saying that “Florida rejects the designs of the left to weaken our energy grid, pursue a radical climate agenda, and promote foreign adversaries,” the governor posted a graphic on X that said the law would “INSULATE FLORIDA FROM GREEN ZEALOTS….”
Like DeSantis, Trump and Project 2025, a playbook for the next Republican administration, authored by allies of the right-wing Heritage Foundation and closely associated with Trump and Republican vice presidential candidate Ohio senator J.D. Vance, take the position that concerns about climate change are overblown. Project 2025 says the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, whose duties include issuing hurricane warnings, is “one of the main drivers of the climate change alarm industry and, as such, is harmful to future U.S. prosperity.” It calls for either eliminating its functions, sending them to other agencies, privatizing them, or putting them under the control of states and territories.
The U.S. Supreme Court came back in session today in Washington, D.C. It has decided not to hear arguments about whether the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTLA) overrules Texas’s state abortion ban. EMTLA requires that hospitals provide emergency abortion care to save a woman’s life or stop organ failure or loss of fertility. Texas’s ban remains in place.
As legal analyst Joyce White Vance commented: “At least no one can pretend we don’t understand the consequences for women, & others, of putting appointments to the Court back in [Republican] control.”
The Georgia Supreme Court today reinstated the state’s six-week abortion ban after Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, appointed in 2012 by Republican governor Nathan Deal, decided last week that the law violates Georgia’s Constitution. In his decision, McBurney wrote that “liberty in Georgia includes in its meaning, in its protections, and in its bundle of rights the power of a woman to control her own body, to decide what happens to it and in it, and to reject state interference with her healthcare choices.”
McBurney’s decision came shortly after a state investigation revealed that at least two women in Georgia died after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision struck down the abortion protections the court put in place in 1973 with Roe v. Wade. In anticipation of an end to Roe, Georgia governor Brian Kemp in 2019 signed a six-week abortion ban prohibiting the procedure before most women know they’re pregnant. The Dobbs decision allowed that law to go into effect.
The Georgia Supreme Court stayed McBurney’s decision during the state’s appeal of it. Chris Geidner of Law Dork noted that the court did leave in place McBurney’s block on the law’s provision that district attorneys can have access to “health records” where an abortion is performed or where someone who received an abortion lives.
In her attempt to reach new audiences, Vice President Harris sat down for an interview with Alex Cooper of the Call Her Daddy podcast to talk about women’s issues. Call Her Daddy is the second most popular podcast in the country, reaching as many as 2 million downloads per episode. According to NPR’s Elena Moore, Call Her Daddy’s audience is 70% women, 93% under 45.
Cooper began the interview by acknowledging that she does not usually talk about politics, but “at the end of the day, I couldn’t see a world in which one of the main conversations in this election is women and I’m not a part of it…. I am so aware I have a very mixed audience when it comes to politics, so please hear me when I say [that] my goal today is not to change your political affiliation. What I’m hoping is that you’re able to listen to a conversation that isn’t too different from the ones that we’re having here every week.” Cooper said she had also reached out to Trump, adding: “If he also wants to have a meaningful, in-depth conversation about women’s rights in this country, then he is welcome on Call Her Daddy any time.”
On the podcast, Cooper and Harris talked about the prevalence of sexual assault before addressing abortion. When Cooper quoted Trump’s promise to protect women, Harris noted that he was the one who appointed the three extremists to the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade and that 20 states now have abortion bans, some with no exceptions for rape or incest. Harris pointed out that the majority of women who receive abortion care are mothers and that every state in the South except for Virginia has an abortion ban. For a woman in those states—and one out of every three American women lives in one—the journey is expensive, hard, and traumatic.
“You don’t have to abandon your faith or deeply held beliefs to agree the government shouldn’t be telling her what to do,” Harris said. “And that’s what’s so outrageous about it, is a bunch of these guys up in these state capitals are writing these decisions because they somehow have decided that they’re in a better position to tell you what’s in your best interest than you are to know what’s in your own best interest. It’s outrageous.” Harris pointed out that she is the first vice president or president to go to a reproductive health care clinic, and she noted that those clinics perform Pap smears, breast cancer screening, and HIV testing and that they are having to close because of the abortion bans. She noted, though, that since Dobbs, people across the country have chosen to protect abortion rights.
The article in the right-wing National Review about the interview was titled: “Kamala Goes on Sex Podcast to Lie about Georgia Abortion Law.”
On Call Her Daddy, Harris also brought her economic plans for an “opportunity economy” to a younger audience. When Cooper asked her how she was going to help young people “not feel left behind,” Harris agreed it is “a very real issue and we need to take it seriously.” She promised to address housing costs by increasing the housing supply, working with home builders in the private sector to build three million new housing units by the end of her first term; help with $25,000 downpayment assistance for first-time homebuyers; and enact tax cuts for 100 million middle-class working people, including a $6,000 tax credit for new parents to help them afford the costs of a child’s first year.
The Committee for a Responsible Budget noted today that a moderate reading of Harris’s economic plans suggest they would increase the U.S. debt by about $3.5 trillion through 2035. A similar examination of Trump’s plans says they would increase the debt by $7.5 trillion.
Meanwhile, today, Trump openly embraced the race science favored by Nazis. In a scattered call to right-wing host Hugh Hewitt’s show, Trump called Harris a communist and lied—again—that she has let 13,000 murderers into the country. And then he claimed that murder is in a person’s genes, and “we got a lot of bad genes in our country right now.” He has also noted that “it would be very dangerous” for anyone to admit they were voting for Kamala Harris at one of his rallies because they would “get hurt.”
Hurricane Milton spurred meteorologist John Morales to step forward to take a stand, sharing his thoughts after Hurricane Helene hit. “Something’s shifted,” he wrote. “And it’s not just the climate.” He noted that with Helene on the way, “I did what I’ve done during my entire 40 year career—I tried to warn people. Except that the warning was not well received by everyone. A person accused me of being a ‘climate militant,’ a suggestion that I’m embellishing extreme weather threats to drive an agenda. Another simply said that my predictions were ‘an exaggeration.’
“But it wasn’t an exaggeration,” he wrote.
“For decades I had felt in control. Not in control of the weather, of course. But in control of the message that, if my audience was prepared and well informed, I could confidently guide them through any weather threat, and we’d all make it through safely…. But no one can hide from the truth. Extreme weather events, including hurricanes, are becoming more extreme. I must communicate the growing threats from the climate crisis come hell or high water—pun intended.”

Im not finished with Carlos fully but he looks good enough for right now ( he’s 22 in this picture here)
I changed Carlos and Evie up, so now Evie is a vain witch like her mother who is fashionable but she doesn’t sew her own stuff. ( which is for the better cse wtf was that ugly ass dress she made for Mal in D2???)
Carlos considers himself to be a very expensive person and can be pretty big germaphobe. He hates getting anything on his clothes and he refuses to wear the school uniforms at Auradon Uni because they’re ugly. He wears lots of black white grey and red, with gold accents usually. He does theme around dog associated items like gold bone cutlets, paw print lapel chains, and a tennis ball brooch. He often wears red gloves and his favorite shoes are his collection of red bottom dress shoes. He likes hiding red on the interlining of his clothes too, such as his jackets and hats and vests.
A lot of his own person style is derived from 1990s London fashion ( as the artist that means I get my references from the 1996 101 Dalmatians live action movie, the styling of Cruela in that movie is ICONIC AND IMACULATE, and I MUST reference her for Carlos.
PURRRR
Of course he wears REAL animal print. And he’s not a weak touch me not prick like some think. He’s still tech savvy and does Anyalitics and specs for the core four. He also loves GUNS 😄. Think of him like a sharp shooter who stays in the back of turf wars and snipes people. The isle doesn’t have many marks men ( they all really like swords for some reason) so he’s pretty dangerous. He builds his own weapons too.
His passion started out as a way for him to collect his own furs but Harry gets him most of what he needs plus he always needs Carlos to redo his wardrobe ( he gets… messy… after a couple days work) Carlos hates that Harry ruins his creations so fast but he pays him well and gifts him rare fabrics and samples from Auradon.
Because Carlos has no magic Mal always underestimates him. She sees him as only a stylist and ranged weapon specialist. Even tho she acknowledges him for his wit and tech skills she still doesn’t listen to him. Sometimes he wishes he could stay with Harry but then he’d have to do more work up front. Harry understood what Carlos was capable of and respected him a lot. What Harry doesn’t understand is that not everybody likes to be covered head to toe in hot sticky blood 24/7. Harry had also promised him a suite on his boat that nobody else was allowed to occupy, but even if Harry’s crew feared HARRY they wouldn’t mind having an attitude with CARLOS for preferential treatment, even if it is what he deserves 🙄
Harry and Carlos’s relationship is the definition of there are two wolves inside you. Carlos smokes and drinks but he’s more of a Marlboro and Merlot type of guy and Harry’s a Rum and Cigar kinda lad. ( I’m using cartoon logic and say that those habits are purely aesthetic based of iconography from the original Disney moves, Cruella smokes and Capt. Hook smokes two cigars at once)
Carols isn’t really scared of dogs anymore but when he arrives at Auradon he “befriends” his roommate Chad ( now an animal lover like his mother) who has pet rats and a entourage of wild animals constantly in their dorm, and threatens to shoot and skin them all every single day to make a new line of coats ( when Chad rebuttals that his rats are too small to make coats, Carlos says they’d make the perfect fuzzy gloves 💀) He also uses Chad as a living mannequin for his designs. They have a goofy relationship with each other, Carlos does make Chad do all the dirty work of skinning and draining the animals he hunts but despite how traumatic that is Carlos is a fun sweet guy so it’s okay 💀💀💀.
Jay is jelly of Carlos due to his closeness with Harry. ( I guess the way to Jays heart and respect is by holding him at sword point and threatening to gut him and hang him by those very guts over shark infested waters and watch them nibble away at him 💀)
Next I’ll find up Carlos and do some fit designs then I’ll redesign Jay and tell that gutting story 😛

an au where Taverner agrees to giving River up to Frank would be crazy because like... would mi-5 even hope river would feed them back info? or would it be like just getting rid of a loose end like Taverner wanted to do since the training exercise? it's such a wild train of thought I love it
One of the reasons I’m so obsessed with Frank is all the myriad ways that he could totally mess River up, and why the idea of Taverner agreeing to Frank’s pitch, or maybe part of his blackmail failsafe demands being to let him nab him River is so fun, is that there’s just so many potential takes on it, and they’re all super interesting! Bc, yeah, yes all of these! Would there be a hope/expectation from River to be feeding information back, even after he’s essentially been sold and burned by them, and presumably growing increasingly indoctrinated and under Frank’s control? Mi5 have apparently been using Frank to do their dirt work for years, so is River joining the family assassin business/cult presented as just like… a wild secondment from Slough House?
Would Diana be tempted to just get rid of the problem/ constant thorn in her side that is River Cartwright? @sloughhousestaircase made the really interesting point of Diana being like ‘where were you x months ago when I needed to ditch this kid?’ Bc yeah, if Frank had approached her before River was sent to Slough House, and came under the protection of Lamb, and Diana still trying to figure out how to get rid of him, would she have been more tempted? Would she be able to pitch it to a much less disillusioned and more naive River as an undercover operation - but would she be able to mantain any level of control over him once he’s with Frank, and realising who he is, and how they’re connected?
Me and @countessrivers, who are very much driving the ‘River being part of his dads assassin cult’ train, have pitched each other a bunch of different ideas for how a Diana trading River scenario would go down, which a range across a whole spectrum of au’s from like, post s3 developing werewolf River needing to be trained and controlled (to be used as an asset by Diana,) and Frank coming in as like the werewolf specialist, (and then obviously indoctrinating his son and bringing him back to the werewolf pack at Les Arbres.)
Or more closely following on canon, Frank’s promise in the books that they’ll ‘talk soon’, maybe Frank finally being able to have a drink with his son once he’s finally out of extensive debriefing/medical treatment for Thames water in the lungs, which he can achieve by breaking into River’s flat and waiting for him and drugging his glass to knock him out, and making it easier to take his son home without any fuss.
There’s just, so many ways Frank could absolutely fuck up River’s life. And I think that’s beautiful.
#Diana trading River to Frank is like the worst version of y/n’s mom selling them to one direction#I just want River to be mentally unwell assassin bc of his daddy issues. is that too much to ask?#kinda rooting for Frank to win a bit. he’s awful and I’m fascinated and I want him to ruin rivers life!!!#slow horses#river cartwright#frank harkness#diana taverner

Mimic memoirs: The Spa
HRT month 22
Searching for date spots with Abi
Checking out a supposed local therian hotspot
Mayday pulled the car into the near empty strip mall. The entire building was mostly empty, save for about three rooms. Midwestern death is the term she would use to describe a place like this. It seemed to have, unfortunately, creeped into Hyper city at some point. The door in front of her was plastered in flyers and menus. All of them are fairly worn over years of use. Directly above the door and screwed into the concrete building were big, red, metal letters that read “massage.” Only the last three had maintained their neon glow, showing the age of the place.
“You said they have spa stuff, right? Abi said, stepping out of the car.
“Yep.” Mayday called back. “The website also included something called Therian massage. So I absolutely have to see what that's like.”
She had heard about this place from a few of the clients that passed through Erian's office. Far from being called popular, but any rumors of a location good to therians ended up spreading like wildfire eventually. She had to see for herself if they were true.
The pair pushed open the door with the bell hanging above, letting out a soft ring-a-ding. The inside was bathed in a soothing orange light. Flowering plants of all kinds were placed perfectly around the room and somehow made it feel bigger than it actually was. The sounds of soothing music and the ambiance of running water babbling through a creek with song birds singing their melodies. The calm vibes could only be described as immaculate. A small, old, human woman stood at the front desk. She had the smile of a sweet grandma that had just baked her grandchildren a fresh batch of oatmeal raisin cookies on a spring evening and radiated an aura that could put a blood raged werewolf at peace.
“Oh, hello! How are you lovely folk today? Do the two of you have an appointment here with us?”
Abi spoke for Mayday, “Yes, I'm here for the full spa treatment, and she's here for a massage.”
“Any preference on your caretaker's gender?” She asked.
Abi looked at Mayday, who simply shrugged.
“Guess not.” She said.
Mayday didn't have anything to say. To be honest, she was stunned. Most humans, especially the older ones, tend to look at her with some form of fear, disgust, and apprehension. But right now, she was being looked at with kindness. She was snapped out from her stupor as the old woman spoke again.
“You listed your species as a mimic on our website, correct? You'll have to wait for Lee then, he's our therian specialist. I'll leave you some water and a snack in case you get hungry.”
The woman walks to Mayday, placing a decorated glass cup of water and a small bowl of rice crackers.
She then turns to Abi. “Alrighty! Follow me, I'll take you to the spa room.”
The two of them walk to the back of the room and soon out of sight as they turn a corner. Mayday can only sit down in a nearby chair. She stared off into space, trying to figure out how she got here without saying a single word. Getting completely swept up in the conversation and having it suddenly end was something she wasn't used to, but it wasn't unpleasant. A fanged tendril peels off her arm and begins to eat the rice crackers. They were tasty.
After ten minutes had passed, a large younger man walked into the room. He stood nearly seven feet, and his hobby was probably working out every single day. His hands, though, looked incredibly soft. He wore a loose-fitting t-shirt and sweats. Perfect to immediately go for a 5k as soon as his shift ends.
“Mayday, right? Mimic? Follow me, I'll have to ask a few questions about your species. You don't have to answer if it's uncomfortable.” He said in such a sweet voice.
He walked to the back, motioning for Mayday to follow. As the two motioned through the hallway to the massaging bed, Mayday couldn’t help but notice the oddities in some rooms. All the chairs and beds were built with holes for a tail, what looks to be a grooming station you'd find in a farm, and what looked to be a modified taffy puller. It dawned on her that the reason half of the strip mall had empty buildings was because this place had purchased all of them and knocked out the walls.
The man named Lee saw the mimic's curiosity and smiled. “Dad made the puller, it took us a while to figure out how you massage a slime, and you especially have to be careful if they have a core, that's why we made a cup in the center there to keep it safe and attached while the rest of the body is pulled, and if the machine gets broken, then I've found that tossing them around like a pizza is a pretty good substitute!”
He laughed as he spun an imaginary pizza above his head. There's an earnest joy in his face as he talks about his craft.
“Your dad made it? Is this a family run business?” Mayday asked inquisitively
His smile grew even bigger. A millimeter more, and it would have threatened to pop off his face. “Yeah! Mom runs the financials and the front desk. Dad's an engineer and builds a lot of tools we need to use. And I'm in charge of studying new massage techniques for clients.”
He pulls out a notepad and pen from his pocket and flips to a blank page. He begins to focus deeply on his writing before peering over to Mayday. “Do you have muscles? Bone structure? Organs?”
Mayday stammers out, “oh, uh… No but I could. No, but I could… Yes, but I could remove it, maybe. I haven't tried.”
She watches him eye the taffy massager, and she quickly speaks again. “If it's ok, I'd prefer a massage by hand.”
“Sure thing! Here's a standard room you can use. I'll be back later with some supplies. Is there anything you need right now before we start?”
Lee left the room at a lightning pace. Meanwhile, Mayday took the time to undress and get comfortable underneath the towel on the bed. A business run by a bunch of fast talking, fun having, family members. She almost felt a little dizzy with how fast things were moving. That, and she wasn't expecting them to be so nice. They seemed curious, yet kind. Despite ostensibly being completely human, they-
“Miss, are you ready for me to enter?” Lee called out from behind a curtain.
“Oh, yes, you can come in,” Mayday called back.
He entered the room with a bucket containing some heated rocks and warm oils. He pulled back the towel just a bit to examine what exactly he was working with. Fibrous strings that seem to shift and fold through itself. The consistency of soap. He writes down a few things in his notepad as he labels the top: Mimic, faux slime.
He sighs and talks in a reassuring voice. “I'm going to try a few things. Just let me know if anything feels too painful.”
Almost immediately, a sharp pain burts from Mayday’s back. She screams out, “STOP!”
Lee pulled his hands away as her back caved in and quickly closed like the mouth of some alien creature.
“Sorry! Sorry!” She spit out.
Mayday quickly turns her head around to make sure she didn't bite off a finger. She hoped no one else heard her. “I'm so sorry. It just really hurt.”
“No, don't worry. Believe it or not, this isn't the most dangerous thing I've done. Sorry for hurting you.” He spoke in a soft tone.
Mayday buried her face into the pillow in front of her and groaned, “Talk to me, please. I know that's not how you do things for massages, but I just need to keep my mind occupied. So that doesn't happen again.”
He looked surprised as the noise of his scribbling notes stopped. “Sure. I don't mind, really.”
He tried another massage method, and this time, it didn't cause Mayday to react badly. She can't help but let out a soft, positive groan that she quickly tries to cover up with a dialog. “So! What made you decide to come to Hyper city?”
He beams a stupid grin. “Family history, huh? Sure, I've been practicing my speech when we inevitably get written about in the papers. Our place used to be a lot smaller in America. The family line has always run the place since they first moved there from China. Me and my siblings were going to take over eventually. Though I originally wanted to become a veterinarian. We couldn't afford to run the place and pay for college. Then my sister told us about Hyper city. She heard about it from some online friends. She said we could live here and it'd make more money for the family. I probably should have guessed the other reason she wanted to move here when she chose her new name, Fang. Well, I have to give her credit. We'd probably lose the business if we didn't move here. That's basically it… You're sure this method is comfortable for you?”
Mayday takes a moment to compose herself and make sure she doesn't embarrass herself further. Soon enough, she spoke, “Yes it's fine. It honestly feels similar to when I used to be human getting a massage… Actually, that does make me think of another question. This place seems incredibly caring to therian needs. Is it because of Fang?”
He took a moment to structure his thoughts as he placed several heated stones on her. “Well, It's not like we haven't experienced our own discrimination living in America, and Fang is family. We listened when she explained what she was going through, and we loved her all the same when she started her own transition. It showed us all the accommodations therian aren't given yet… That's it.”
“That's it?” Mayday asked.
“Yep, that's your full body massage done!” He beamed.
“Oh. Right, sorry. Not used to it being over so quickly. But thank you. That was nice.”
“Of course! Customer satisfaction guaranteed! It's kind of like a puzzle if that's not rude to say. Finding the best ways to help each individual customer. I'm pretty good at it. We end up with a lot of therians as regulars. On one hand, it's good to keep this place afloat, but I can't help but be sad that they're probably only coming back because they have nowhere else to go for this sort of thing.”
For once, Lee's smile flips into a drooping frown, but only for a moment. Mayday couldn't help but see him as a buff golden retriever who didn't get his treat. But she wasn't here for sad stories and gave him a face asking if she could get some privacy.
He spoke after a bit. “Ack! You probably want to change. Sorry! I'll leave the room.”
Soon enough, Mayday was alone to dress back up. It really was short, but then again, it really was about as exhausting and pleasant as other massages she's had. Putting on her clothes, she met with the older woman and paid for her and Abi’s time here.
“Thank you for your time.” Mayday said.
“Anytime dear, here's your water.” The woman responded. “It will be a bit before your friend is done. Why don't you visit the tea store next door? It's run by my son.”
Mayday looked at Lee.
“My other son.”
Mayday shrugged. “Tea does sound nice. Thank you. This place seems nice. I'll have to come back here again.”
Mayday waved goodbye, mostly to Lee. He seemed like a really nice guy. Her wave continued as she walked out the parlor and turned to look for the tea shop. It wasn't difficult. The shop was so over decorated that one could be forgiven for not noticing the rest of the building attached to it. Was it just that the tea shop was doing so much better? Or perhaps the family was putting too much money into a passion project. The front was covered in vines with a patio right outside. The tables and door are surrounded by delightfully smelling plants. The large window revealed a massive series of shelves, all containing different spices and fruits for making custom blends. Mayday opened the door to get a better look inside.
The doorbell rang almost exactly the same way as the spa. The only person inside the store was definitely related to Lee. They might actually be twins, but where Lee was buff, tall, and had messy black hair. This person was a short bean pole with hair completely straight. He also wore a scowl so set in that imagining a smile on him was impossible. He turned to look at Mayday. He looked more closely at her than anyone else in the family.
On the table were only two objects besides the register. A framed picture and a morter and pestle. Inside it, Mayday found a color and smell that certainly didn't exist where she came from. It was incredibly calming, though.
“You here to order something?” He spoke in a grumpy tone.
Mayday sighed before putting on her customer face to deal with this sort of energy. “Just some earl grey and chamomile. I'd also take recommendations if you know any other good bedtime teas.”
She checked on the picture on the counter while the owner began sorting through bottles. It was a photo of Lee, what looks like a wolf therian and the tea shop owner. Carved into the wood frame were the names Lei, Fang, and Sheng. Mayday’s attention was placed on the wolf. The crude, almost fake looking fur and segmented lines moving down the body reminded her of something. No one but her would have been able to notice the distinct inaccuracies. The more she looked at it, the less it looked like a wolf. She turned her attention to Sheng.
“Is Fang a mimic?” She said with a sudden realization.
Sheng didn't say anything as he filled the tea packets. But his frown softened a bit. His mouth opened, but it took him a while to say anything.
“Y-yeah. She's gone now.”
“Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to… it's just that we're both…”
“It's fine. It's been a while, and it's not anything bad. Just one day, she stopped being human and became herself. The crossroads, right? She passed it and after a while she disappeared from home. I'm not sure where she is, but she's scrappy. She'll survive. And she's happy out there. That thought keeps me going.”
Mayday started to reach out to comfort him, but she thought better of it and instead paid for her tea.
Eventually, she spoke, “thank you. I'm sure she's happy too. I expect I'll come back here again. Have a good day.”
He waved her out as she left. The bare hint of a smile moved across his face. Mayday made her way to her car and sat back in the driver seat as her untensed body finally caught up to her, and she nearly started to melt. Today, despite everything, was worth it, if only for this trip. Soon enough, her partner joined her.
Abi seemed to notice her partner's relaxation and grew a bit inquisitive as she spoke, “How do you get massaged?”
“I got pulled apart like a licorice.”
“...Huh?”

My King started biting me when I bring food???? It used to be docile???? Help????
And not letting me care for its hair either??? I'm worried about it's higene!!!
It could be that your King is molting! This is part of the life cycle for young kings, but does still happen for older kings. While many Isatlings don’t have any aggressive pre-molt behaviors, Kings are known to become short tempered and standoffish (and I would be too, if my outer armor was peeling off in scutes!!). Kings during this time will want privacy, as a King will be very vulnerable during the molt. It can be painful, especially for older Kings that have larger armor. Observe its shell for darkless lines around the edges of the armor plates, and check its enclosure daily for any fallen scutes (both to check the scute size for health observation purposes, and because your King might eat the scute, which could potentially cause intestinal damage). A healthy scute should be thin and darkless, and come off in whole or large pieces. Molting length does depend on the size of your King’s armor, but on average takes at most 2 weeks for adult stage, and one week for childhood stage.
It’s normal for a King to become moody and lose appetite before molting. Instead of daily feeding, try leaving out a vacation-feeder type of food. The only exception here is for any medications, in which case you may need to do the age old “trick the beast with an apple slice that Definitely doesn’t have a pill in it”.
If you don’t already have one, set out a shallow warm bath for your king (a large water dish with a light heater works just fine). Warm water helps sooth a molting King by providing body heat, relieving pain, and removing surface debris that can irritate any newly exposed armor shell. Clean and replace the water whenever possible to avoid any potential bacterial growth.
Hair wise, observe your King to see if it’s maintaining any self-grooming habits. Kings are very cleanly- especially when it comes to their molting periods- and should be self-brushing their hair. Since Kings dislike being disturbed during their molt, you may just have to wait for the molt to end to resume washes and oil treatments.
Of course, this is only one common possibility. If you’re not sure, don’t be afraid get your isatling checked (if money is a concern, I suggest contacting a vet online first! I am NOT a vet, please contact a specialist if you want specific diagnosis!!!!!)

An American woman has been found chained to a tree in an Indian forest where she had been for 40 days, triggering a manhunt for her former husband.
Lalita Kayi Kumar, 49, was found by a shepherd in a forest near Sonurli village, Goa, after he heard her crying for several days.
Unable to speak following her rescue, she wrote a note that alleged her ex-husband had left her to die and that she had been without food for 40 days.
She also claimed she was administered an “injection for extreme psychosis which caused severe jaws locked and inability to drink any water. Need intravenous food later ... husband tied me to a tree in a forest”.
Ms Kumar was found with her legs tied to the tree but her hands unbound. A police officer said she was too weak to unchain herself. There were also reportedly marks from numerous other injuries on her body. She was wearing a see-through raincoat, an olive green shirt and worn-out brown trousers when she was found.
Police have registered a case of attempted murder against her former husband, who is accused of chaining her up before he escaped. Relatives of the couple are being interviewed by police.
Ms Kumar was transferred to Goa Medical College for specialist treatment after doctors raised concerns about her mental health.
A hospital official said: “She is out of danger, but she is suffering from severe depression and other mental health illnesses. We have found medical prescriptions in her possession suggesting she was on antidepressants.”
Documents found on Ms Kumar show that she was a resident of Tamil Nadu, a south Indian state, about 600 miles away from the forest where she was found. It is thought that she had been living in India for the past decade.

Individual Analysis of A Quiet Place: Day One
so so grateful for the reblogs and interactions <3
SPOILERS AHEAD!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Few films (or media, for that matter) manage to captivate me or make me feel as deeply as this one did. I say this as someone who sat through the ending credits with tears streaming down my cheeks and a stinging lump in my throat threatening to undo itself into a sob.
What makes this film so special is the way it managed to achieve this even with such scarce dialogue, such little background information of the characters during the exposition.
I believe this is due to a highly skilled cast and compelling narrative. The way LUPITA NYONG'O and JOSEPH QUINN projected emotions through the screen with nothing but a quivering hand, a watering gaze, hesitance to speak when given the opportunity to, had me in awe (I literally lost all interest in my concession snacks, becoming so enthralled in their performance). But the performance skills were not limited to the starring actors, and, rather, extended into the acts of ALEX WOLFF and DJIMON HOUNSOU.
It really made me sit there in the theatre and recite in my head "This is it! This is why I love writing! It's so powerful. So beautiful. It's the only thing that makes sense to me."
I’ll make this quick! I’ve got school assignments due at midnight.
If I don’t take this brief moment to vomit my thoughts out, they’ll be gone forever.
Analysis of character:
SAM
A character crippled by a terminal illness, on Hospice services with no hope of surviving. She's come to acceptance with her fate: death. The irony, the interesting twist, though, arises when she is forced to consider the possibility that death will be quicker than she'd been counting down towards, and be delivered via a different medium than she'd steeled herself for from hearing countless of specialists.
She's only got months to live, we, the audience are reared into believing. It is alluded through her Hospice membership, heavy reliance on chronic pain management as opposed to treatment, the flashing alarms at the Hospice facility indicating the death of a fellow member likely in her condition, and her writing tone. This fact makes it the more interesting to watch this character escape from death by the hands of the "aliens" time after time after time. Perhaps she is not ready to face a death that differs from that which she's prepared herself to accept. Perhaps she's not ready to die before she gets that one last glimpse of home (the jazz bar, the pizza parlor and memories of her deceased father). Or, perhaps, most probable, Sam didn't die early on in the film because she had a purpose to fulfill - in my interpretation, she was pivotal to the survival of Eric, and catalyzed his evolution from a scared, lonesome, helpless character into one that is strong enough to venture into the unknown world with the hope of surviving.
A trait that weaved in and out, entirely through the narrative was Sam's kindness towards strangers. It is shown when she first visits the city, during the marionette show; she speaks softly at the curious child seating in front of her, tells him the cat's name, reassures his parents that the child is no nuisance. Then again, when she finds two stranded kids by the fountain, offers them food she'd bought for herself, and attempts to guide them towards evacuation. Then again, when she takes Eric under her wing, steers him away from the edge of dissolution into panic. Oh! and how could I forget the numerous times she risked her own life to save the cat!
ERIC
Found him comical, endearing, sweet and lovable.
My first impression of him was that of someone who doesn't know how to exist alone. Doesn't like to be alone. Doesn't know how to follow his own volition, because he's rather used to having orders barked to him by his superiors - it is implied his parents forced him into law school.
He's likely never had an opportunity to secede from all the orders and just exist for himself so when he's catapulted into a world where literally it's everyone for themselves, he freezes, stammers, and clings to the nearest form of refuge (the company of Sam and cat).
My impression of him being a constant people-pleaser, and dependent on extrinsic validation/orders became solidified when Sam instructs him to knock the door to her apartment down during the storm. The stakes are obvious: agonizing shredding and death. Yet, he proceeds to do as he is told. Under the rain, he speaks when instructed to, despite being at risk of...you got it, death. For someone who verbally states he "doesn't want to die," he sure places himself in situations that almost negate that believe. Perhaps it is because he doesn't have an internal sense of self (yet). Perhaps because he is selfless.
Throughout the film we see him face challenges, see him evolve into someone who faces his fears - from the scene in the drowned subway, to the lone mission for meds, to retrieving the cat from the "alien" nest. In the end he takes this big leap into the sea, which in itself could be a metaphor; willingly jumping into the unknown instead of stalling at the dock and waiting for death.
HENRI
He's a leader, a strong patriarch with authority. Don't believe me? The first scene we see him in, he's ordering his son to stop bothering the lady (Sam). The next scene, he's got his hand over Sam's mouth, ushering her to silence before allowing her to join the rest of the refugees.
He's a man with responsibility. Keep his family safe. At first his family was just his wife and son, but then, perhaps it extended to encompass all who relied on him to maintain order in the refugee site. No one truly nominated him, he just assumed the position out of his own strength of will and duty.
So, it is in this sense of duty and responsibility that he commits his first murder. It is quick, rushed, blinded by fear, when he slams one of the refugee's heads against a concrete wall to keep them from killing and dooming everyone to the same fate. He kills one to save all, and perhaps that should be heroic? But it's tainted with guilt and disbelief, this fall into immorality and the conflict can be seen play across his face (super talented actor!!).
Analysis of symbols:
WATER
salvation. cleansing. catharsis. heaven/haven. sanctuary.
Sam first encounters water at the fountain where the kids are hiding. Then, while walking towards her apartment, being followed by Eric, she dares to talk, associates it with protection, safety from the perception of the beasts. In her apartment, while it is storming, she screams, venting all of her frustrations, unfulfilled hopes, fear; the white noise of the rain and the rumble of thunder serves to dampen her commotion from being perceived by the beasts. She feels light, relieved. Eric joins in at the next rumble of thunder.
Then it is flooding the subways, and muffles their steps from the sleeping beasts. It guides their way out of the depths where the beasts sleep (could this be perceived as hell? being underground and full of monsters?). The stream ends up leading them to a church (salvation, heaven?). I think this was purposeful symbolism.
WHITE CAT
drive of survival. strength and advantage. comfort, grounding energy.
The cat is the reason Sam escapes many killing sprees throughout the film. It somehow always manages to dash away just before the creatures arrive, luring Sam out of there.
The cat is said to be an emotional support animal. It is shown being cuddled and nuzzled by Sam on many occasions of distress, and eventually by Eric, who assumes ownership of it.
MARIONETTES
Sam visibly grows emotional at the sight of the marionette boy levitating with the balloon, only for it to pop and him to collapse. Perhaps she sees it as a reflection of her life; how it turned on her so quickly, how she might have been in the peak of her success (as a poet) just before being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Perhaps it represents lost innocence, when she was just a little girl at her father's side, listening to the piano, and now it's gone, she can't retrieve it.
YELLOW JACKET
Have you ever heard of that quote that goes something like "You are mosaic of the people you've loved"? People change people. People leave traces, imprints on others. The jacket originally belonged to Sam's father, as shown in the picture at the Jazz club. Sam wears it religiously, perhaps to feel close to him now that he's gone. Before she sacrifices herself, she lends the jacket over to Eric - it could symbolize the way he'll carry her with him on his journey.
Favorite scenes: - probably the one where they are screaming through the thunder. felt very cathartic and I do believe it was the first scene in which they weren't fearful of speaking and just being human. - the leap Eric takes with the cat into the sea. to be told he is safe by the members on the ferry, the tears of relief welling in his eyes, and maybe of grief at losing Sam, too. - when Sam miraculously makes it back to the marionette theatre refuge and Reuben gives her a hug of relief, tears streaming down his face, then hands over the cat. - the opening scenes of Sam navigating the city, and the way it was implied that the city was in danger of something strange without really spanning the cameras to the threat yet. i liked that we, as the audience, first saw the treat face-to-face as the same time as our leading character, Sam. It really aids in the sympathizing. It was interesting to hear the sirens and see the flashing lights, and hear the rumble of choppers over the city whilst the camera focused on an oblivious Sam.
I said I would be quick...lol
Can you imagine what I mean when I say I'll be slow???

On veterinarians
There are, extremely broadly speaking, two kinds of veterinarians.
I am what is known as a "general practice veterinarian". This means I treat almost every Pokemon and condition that comes to me to the best of my ability. However, this means that despite my best efforts, the depth of my knowledge on any one Pokemon or ailment are limited. I will do my best to treat anything, but I cannot treat everything. If it is a common Pokemon, with a common ailment, I can usually handle it. If it is less common, I do what I can. I treat reptilian Pokemon, mammalian Pokemon, all organic Pokemon. I treat illnesses, conditions, and occasionally injury.
But in a way, you could say I have traded depth of knowledge for breadth of knowledge. While I can help most people, I have no ability to help those with rarer Pokemon or conditions.
This brings us to veterinary specialists. There are many, many kinds of specialists. Some specialize in Pokemon of a certain type, such as Fire-types or Water-types. Some specialize in certain biologies, such as reptilian or ichthyoid. Others specialize in certain treatments or diseases- Most of you will know this, as you may have had to take your Pokemon to a special dentist after one tried to use Bite on a Graveler.
These specialists have a much deeper knowledge of their field. Part of my job as a veterinarian is not only having a wide variety of knowledge of Pokemon health, but also connections to a variety of these specialists, so I can find and refer anyone I cannot help to someone who can.
If you have a Pokemon who is getting old, and may not be moving around as well as they used to, you may wish to look for a skeletal specialist, or an arthritis specialist.
While general practice veterinarians like myself is easy to find, there are a greater number of veterinary specialists, simply because of the sheer variety of ways one can specialize.
I know trainers wish to be self-reliant, but there are so many of we veterinarians. We will help you, or find someone who can. All we wish is to help the health and happiness of every Pokemon we can.
