Continuing from my post-Wano thoughts post. Wanted to get down some big ideas about Wano and Kiku, the little story ripples that started on the way to introducing both, and the waves they have caused, and may still cause, in the wider world since. Tagging this and a few previous posts which focus on similar ideas with “The waves of Wano.
From Shells Town to Impel Down, Luffy sequentially meets the people who will become his crew members, which works well with the bridal theme that Kiku has. During the story which follows Jinbei’s introduction, Luffy meets a member of her family through Izo, maintaining the pattern of meeting his future crew members, just in a less direct way. Then the idea is continued with Luffy meeting more of Kiku’s family on the way to Wano.
Focusing on Jinbei as a character, he meets Luffy just before both encounter Izo, he stays with him during the arc when the gunman is introduced, meets him again on Fishman Island, then finally joins in Wano. Fishman Island makes a nice starting point to see how Oda plays with ideas from the Urashima Taro myth.
During Fishman Island, Shirahoshi and the Tamate box are introduced and while I see how both play into Kiku’s story well, Yamato is the character I read as having more in common with Shirahoshi’s story. Both are royalty who were closed off from the outside world they wished to be a part of, missed out on a lot of growth as a result, and ended their respective arcs making strides towards their goals. Each made a promise with the pirate who declared their homes as under his protection.
So if Shirahoshi’s and Yamato’s stories are playing off similar ideas to each other, then I see Jinbei’s story as the parallel to Kiku’s. Each serve/served the royal family of their country, carry the dream from the leader of the group they are a part of, and are further along in their own stories than Shirahoshi and Yamato are at the ends of their respective arcs. Actually, the motivations of Fisher Tiger and Oden look pretty similar in the big picture, both being born out of a desire for the citizens of their countries to accept others without hate.
Think of how Mjosgard was treated when he washed up on Fishman Island, how Kawamatsu, Inu, and Neko were treated when they washed up in Wano. How the royal families of each country treated the outsiders with hospitality and accepted them as family in the case of Kawamatsu, Inu, and Neko. How Otohime and Toki responded to the actions of Tiger and of Oden, grounded them and reinforced the importance of image. Think of Otohime stopping that thief and why she did it, or Toki working With the people of Wano and restoring their belief in Oden and the Kozuki Clan. How do the ideals of characters like Hody and Ryokugyu oppose them? What will result from the Ryugu Kingdom having attended the Reverie? From Luffy defeating Kaido?
Feels like the story is preparing to begin tying everything that’s happened since Fishman Island into a nice bow and I am excited for it! Fingers crossed we’ll finally get more about Toki’s past along the way!

Y'all wanted the Pokemon Au y'all getting the Pokemon au, explanations for the Pokemon and more Au info under the cut. Feel free to put questions about the Au in my Ask box
The Au is focused on Pirate captains being Pokemon trainers and their crew their Pokemon, with exceptions like non pirate characters who have Pokemon based on their personalitys.
The world is a mix out of the op world and Pokemon universe, so instead of canon Pokemon regions the regions are based of the op islands, as an example, Luffy is from the Goa Region and travels to other Regions like the Alabasta region or Wano region, in order to beat the strongest trainers in each place he visits in order to become world champion.
Luffys team
Zoro as Chine-Pao: Zoro is often associated with tigers (big cats) and obviously his swords. Luffy also meets him for the first time while he is tied up, wich can parallel how you optain a Chien-Pao wich is locked away
Nami as Liepard: Luffy would meet Nami as a Purloin, wich are known for tricking and stealing from people, her title is also “Cat burgler”
Usopp as Inteleon: Luffy would meet Usopp as a Wobble, since he's such a coward at the start of the series. He would evolve into Drizzile during Water 7 and latter into Inteleon. Inteleon was kind of a no brainer since it's the only sniper Pokemon.
Sanji as Cinderac: Cinderace's Signature move is a Flame kick of sorts. Luffy would meet him as a Raboot, and evolves intomCinderace during Enies Lobby. (British opla sanji…)
Chopper as Sawsbuck: Reindeer, Cheery blossoms.
Robin as Runerigus: Robin is an archaeologists who specifies in finding all of the poneglyphs so her Pokemon being made out off rune tablets makes a lot of sense. Plus the ghost typing can be a hint to her title of “Devil child”
Franky as Blastoise: Franky is basically a weapon himself so making him the literal Tank turtle makes sense to me, also remember the Squirtle with the sunglasses? yeah.
Brook as Houndstone: There aren't a lot of skeleton Pokemon so there was little choice. Houndstones is part of the Ghost gym leaders team, who is a Musician.
Jinbei as Empoleon: Jinbei used to be one of the seven warlords of the sea and is a very honorable person wich works with the personality of Empoleons. He's also shown using a Trident as a weapon.
Kobys team
Milotic: Both of them start of as ugly little loser boys but have one hell of a glow up /affectionate + Milotic would be a great swimming buddy.
Lycanroc: (dog boy koby is so real to me) Dog Pokemon, though more commonly Arcanine, are used as police Pokemon, most likely given to him by Garp.
Gallade: The Fighting type fits Kobys swinging hand approach well and the Psychic type his Observation haki plus being quite the noble Pokemon.
Togekiss: A flying type to reference his Moonwalk ability and generally seeming like a Pokemon would put the effort into raising.
Lucario: dog.. Again, Another Pokemon I feel like Koby would put the effort into raising, fighting type, and the Aura gimmick just matches the vibe as well yk.
Blissey: A healer Pokemon that would assist both hurt trainers and Pokemon, god knows it's good to have one on you when you travel with Luffy.

Been working on some sketches of my mer!Zoro, since he's one of my favorite designs. What started as me figuring out what his markings look like under his bandana turned into some of them ending up a bit more uh... sluttier than I imagined 😅😆
And then, while drawing these, I started to spiral and wonder what Tera and Arashi would look like as well, what traits Zoro inherited from each parent. Well, all this pondering resulted in new mer designs!
I had already designed a human form of Tera which is on my insta, so all she really needed were some tweaks, but I hadn't drawn Arashi yet so I had to come up with his from scratch. Originally I had wanted to take more inspiration from Kurogane from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (sole reason being he and Zoro share the same English VA lol) and while I could see human Arashi wearing a similar outfit, I decided to make his overall look more distinct. I made him a blunette since a lot of the Shimotsuki have blue or blue-ish hair, and, like Zoro and Ushimaru, Arashi inherited Ryuma's huge-ass forehead 😂
Obviously, Arashi is a tiger shark, and originally Tera was going to be a leopard shark, but I ultimately decided to make her a thresher shark instead as I think the long tail matched her hair. This now makes Zoro half-tiger/half-thresher. Her eye color is a little detail I enjoy, as in fics I often find that people can't decide if Zoro's eyes are gold or silver, I prefer silver personally, but I made Tera's eyes gold in reference to that lol
I also wanted Tera to have an obvious sun theme, to go along with the Shimotsuki's moon theme. If I remember correctly, Shimotsuki Village was founded after the people from Wano drove off bandits, and Tera is the daughter of bandits, sooo... what if she was the child of the very bandits that were driven off? Maayybe there was a little Romeo and Juliet thing going on with her and Arashi? Maybe a diamond-in-the-rough bandit's daughter met the descendant of Wano's sword god and it was the greatest romance in One Piece history?!! Lol I just think it would be so funny if Zoro's parents were pretty much a Disney couple. She's the Megara to his Hercules, the Aladdin to his Jasmine, the Eugene to his Rapunzel 😆🤣🤣
Bonus for those who made it though my rant:

WAIT WAIT WAIT HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE
So normally we only get fullblown, extended and dedicated flashbacks for heroic characters in One Piece, the characters who we're meant to root for. The literal only TRUE exception we've had to this rule was Big Mom's flashback. Even fucking Doflamingo's flashback was tied to Law and Rosinante's
So the fact that we haven't gotten a single fucking GLIMPSE at Crocodile's backstory is?!?
Like sure, we haven't gotten like a Moria flashback, but you know, he literally told us all we needed to know himself, AND we got to see glimpses of him in the Wano flashbacks. Arlong didn't get a flashback of his own, but he did get to cameo in Fisher Tiger's flashback. And Rob Fucking Lucci got a flashback that was 6 whooping panels long
BUT CROCODILE?? Not only do we know almost Fuck All about his story, but also have never gotten as much as a glimpse at it? But his backstory has been HINTED and TEASED at multiple times??
GUYS. FELLAS
Like. I am SURE the "Full Backstories for Heroes Only" rule is going to get broken again, but with Imu and Blackbeard already there just BEGGING to have their beans spilled, can we even be sure Sir Fucking Crocodile is somehow going to become A Villain So Dangerous To The Narrative that he ALSO should also recieve a Full Fucking Backstory?? For his Nefarious Schemes?? AT THIS POINT??
Y'all
I think it's more likely Oda's been saving up Croc's backstory because it might just completely recontextualize his entire character
#CROCODAD REAL?!#UNIRONICALLY#Sir Crocodile#Crocodad#Crocomom#OP Meta#Moon posting#Sleep Deprivation opened my third fucking eye I can see the fucking Matrix#Unironically this is the thing that has pushed me back into actually believing in Crocodad despite the timeline#Because I genuinely can not imagine how else Crocodile could be turned into an (anti) hero if it's not Crocodad#And I can not imagine his villanous schemes needing a backstory to explain them at this point- not over BB and Imu#And I mean sure maybe we could get three whole Extended Villian Backstories for Imu Blackbeard and Croc#But I just feel like it'd be so unnececary#Because there is no fucking way Crocodile is going to become The Ultimate Villian of the Story again#Not without some Darth Vader bullshit happening#But since he's supposed to be based on Wagnas from Romancing SaGa 2 and Wagnas wanted to SAVE the world#Look I have a whole different post about that waiting in my drafts I'll post it later#Point is!! I can't imagine him becoming The Final Villian!! Not at all!!#Also yes there are characters like Mihawk who have like histories etc that I'm sure many people would love to learn about#The only difference is that we've never gotten as much as a hint at what kind of a backstory Mihawk might have#Meanwhile Crocodile Having A History is something that's been hinted at every arc he's appeared in pre-timeskip#Like we KNOW he has a story we just don't know what it is

Nikaposting Pt 2: Symbology & Syncretism
This is the second of a series of posts about Nika & associated religious practice in the One Piece world. As I write and post the rest of the series, I’ll add links to this header.
Pt 1: Crypto-Religion | Pt 3: Joyboy was Shandian | Pt 4: Sun God Tropes
Enormous credit to @oriigami for being my discussion partner through all of this and having a substantial influence on the final product. Check out our ao3 series Joyful for a narrative rather than analytical take on the Nika tradition, and definitely go read her OP blog @kaizokuou-ni-naru for meta and translation fun facts.
-
So About That Sun Symbol (and all those sun gods)
Context note: This post assumes you’ve read pt 1. If you haven’t, the TLDR is that the Nika cult is best categorized as a crypto-religion and may not ever have existed outside of a cryptic and oral form.
There’s a lot of sun gods in One Piece. And there’s a lot of appearances of that sun symbol we discussed briefly in pt 1, with the disconnected rays. This post will cover that symbol, the survival of non-Kuma Nika cult branches, and the proliferation of sun gods across the One Piece world.
The sun symbol can be found everywhere, in what seems at first to be a wildly disparate collection of places. There are a number of borderline cases, so I’ll be defining the “Nika sun symbol” as being any symbol with a central circle, disconnected rays, and four- or eight-fold radial symmetry. This leaves us the below list (images of the majority of these instances can be found in this very helpful post):
The Kuma-Bonney/Buccaneer version found in his church and on the amulet he left for her (8 circular rays) ; this is our basic template for the symbol
The Alabasta national symbol (8 droplet-shaped rays; the droplets seem to be drawn at various different orientations depending on the panel)
The Kozuki crest (8 circular rays in the center of a bird in the center of another circle also there’s some sprouts or something)
The Shandian crest (8 circular rays inside a larger circle, also the central circle contains the kanji for kami/god)
The Sun Pirates’ mark (4 more traditional flaring rays; the rays seem to be drawn inconsistently, especially in the anime)
There’s also Ace’s dagger, which has the basic template version, but one can assume he bought that thing in Alabasta or something like that.
From this we can conclude that the sun with disconnected rays is not exclusively a Nika symbol- in fact I would be surprised if it was, because of how prominently it was displayed in Kuma’s church (see the discussion in pt 1). However, Alabasta, Shandora, and Wano are all poneglyph countries, and were all involved in some way or another in [incomprehensible void century muttering]. I would be extremely unsurprised if the sun with disconnected rays wasn’t a more widely-spread popular symbol among [void century muttering] countries back then, which was adopted by Nika worshippers as their secret symbol around that time and simultaneously retained in more benign form by certain nations as an element of their national symbology.
(Sidenote: If you were unaware, Oda snagged this symbol from a castle in his hometown and clearly just seems to enjoy drawing it. However that doesn’t matter to us in meta analysis land. We continue.)
The Nika cult absolutely survived outside Kuma’s family: at the very least, among slaves on Mariejois. There’s a very high chance Fisher Tiger heard Nika stories while enslaved- the compositional similarity of the Sun Pirates’ mark to the base Nika symbol, Jinbe’s pissed off refusal to answer any of Who’s-Who’s questions, Fisher Tiger’s own status as a warrior of liberation, and of course, the Sun Pirates’ name and the importance of the sun to the residents of Fishman Island all point in this direction.
The proliferation of the Nika sun symbol across the world also points, to me, to at least pockets of the Nika cult potentially surviving in cryptic form across the world, like Kuma’s family did, with various levels of conscious awareness about what their rituals and symbols actually mean and what secret seditious knowledge they’re actually carrying.
However! All that said! Not all sun gods are Nikas- At least, not completely.
Upon their arrival at Egghead Island, Dorry and Broggy identified Luffy as the Sun God. However, I contend that Nika was not originally Elbaf’s sun god.
In expository Nika dialogue, Nika is specifically cited as a god of slaves (& as an ethnic or cultural god of the buccaneer people), and the giants as far as we know are (1), not a traditionally enslaved people nor particularly easy to enslave, (2), are based on Vikings & have their own pantheon which includes a god of war, & (3), while I can absolutely see how a tradition of a prolonged fast > feast festival would have evolved around a Nika figure, it does still feel a little strange. That’s supposed to be a Luffy-alike!
Besides this, the Shandian pantheon also includes a sun god, and I think it’s reasonable to assume that the sun god in question existed prior to any awakened user of the Nika fruit running around causing issues (although, more on my thoughts about Joyboy and Shandora in pt 3). Human sacrifice traditions also feel about as odd for a Luffy figure as fasting does, and while obviously Luffy, Joyboy, and Nika aren’t the same person, with the way One Piece’s narrative conventions work they’re probably quite similar.
Solar deities are the lynchpins of many if not most traditions in the real world. Sun’s a very notable noticable thing that follows a set course across the sky and brings light and life! And especially in One Piece, where the sun is also a critical thematic element and motif, I would be surprised if the majority of One Piece cultures hadn’t developed their own sun gods at some point or other.
So, all that said, why were Dorry and Broggy calling Luffy Sun God? Syncretism.
Not every god has a mythical zoan or the things would be wildly more common- only gods and figures with, as @oriigami put it while we were talking about this, a particularly potent wish attached to them. Even fewer gods have awakened mythical zoan users around. So when an awakened user of a sun god’s mythical zoan is running around (and particularly, a sun god with an incredibly potent wish attached, because Nika is a god of liberation as well as the sun, and it’s a god that people wish they could be and emulate as a matter of course), it’s easy to fold them into your mythology as your sun god. Tradition is very malleable! He’s the sun, even if he’s not exactly how you traditionally pictured it.
Traditions are very good at working with what they get, and at the moment what they get is a smiling, laughing pirate captain and liberator of slaves. What could be better?

do you have any head cannons for the captain trio as a whole? Silly or serious, they’re so stupid and I love them dearly
their periods synced for all of wano
Kid looks up words to use in arguments to sound smarter and luffy parrots him because he likes saying the words (he doesn’t say them right or in the correct context but he sure does say them!)
Kid likes robots and Law likes the fuckin. Germaverse so you’d THINK they have some overlap but they both enjoy them in such different ways that they just end up bickering. It turns into powerscaling. Luffy is delighted the entire time but he’s definitely on the side of whoever’s guy sounds the strongest at the moment.
I think everyone’s crews get along fine for the most part. It really is just the captains who are constantly at each other’s throats. When they pop into a room everyone pretends to tooootally not like each other tho (strawhats excluded. They’re nicies.)
^^^ expanding on that not captain related but I think Killer and Zoro totally have a weird bro thing going on like ahhhh you tried to kill me aahahahaha wanna do it again?? Are you free next Thursday? Hell yeah brother let’s go
Law bitches about the other two to his crew. Constantly. and they’re like there there captain you’re not old or a tiger. it’s okay.
Kid bitches about Luffy and everyone’s like yeah fuck that little twerp he’s so annoying (they love him) but when he bitches about Law everyone kinda 🤨
Especially killer he’s like. I know this….. I’ve been here before……..
Kid being really secretive about his abilities MID BATTLE WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY FUCKING HELPFUL FOR LAW TO KNOW HOW THEY WORKED is really funny to me so I think he’s like that with. Everything. “What’s yourrrrrrr…. Favorite food? :)” “FUCK OFF AND DIE STRAWHAT AS IF I’D EVER TELL YOU”
(He’s bleeding out)
law: ah shit what’s your blood type
kid: I’d rather die than tell you. what’s next my one piece social security number. fuck you
And then he does die.

Thinking about the parallels between Nami and Koala
Think about it: both were kidnapped and enslaved as young girls, and both spent time among the members of fishman pirate crews. While Koala was branded as a slave to the celestial dragons and freed by Fisher Tiger and the Sun pirates, Nami was branded by Arlong's crew before Luffy arrived to free her.
Think about what Jinbe must have thought when he found out. Arlong, not only his crewmate but practically his brother, had enslaved a girl, branded her as his property, and essentially turned her into a criminal - and Jinbe had to deal with the guilt of believing that it was his fault that a little girl had to end up with the same trauma that Koala went through. Imagine how liberating it was for him when Nami tells him that she doesn't hate him for what happened, and when she showed him how happy she was to meet him again on Whole Cake island and Wano.
Look i just really like it ok

Just some thoughts but I can't stop thinking about how it would have been so much better if there had been some more build up about Nika in One Piece before and up to Wano. like I know Oda has a big story and is building up an insane number of storylines and characters but still. Joy Boy has been talked about since Fishman Island but Nika came out of nowhere, it was first brought up in the climax of the Wano Arc 5 minutes before it was revealed, and then after Wano suddenly every character that shows up knows about it and brings it up by name. there's no build up to that aspect of it! and I can think of some good ways the foreshadowing could have been done personally.
Doing it in the Impel Down arc would have been the best. Literally I can't stop thinking about it. Who's Who is the first to bring Nika up, and he says he heard about it while imprisoned in Impel Down. think about it, the arc where Luffy busts into a place from outside (outside from under the sun's light and freedom) and leads a massive jailbreak freeing hundreds of people from their chains is the one where Nika, sun god and warrior of liberation is first brought up?? imagine Luffy running roughshod through the place, prisoners hearing about the commotion, and maybe a few elderly prisoners are like "ahhh, Nika has heard our prayers" "he has come to free us" "we will be taken out to sea, to freedom under the sun!" and maybe some younger prisoners are just like "eugh, those old-timers are still holding on to their old superstitions". just a few quick panels, no more than a page or two in total, yet that would lay the main foundation for Nika in the future, so that when it gets brought up again in Wano we can feel that there was something to it, that it wasn't just a one-off mention for no reason or empty worldbuilding.
I see ppl mentioning Skypiea bc of Eneru (mr. "i'm god"!!!) and how it's in the sky but I raise you Fishman Island instead, since Nika's the sun god (like god of light) and that's also where Joy Boy was first brought up, to tie Luffy to them both at once retroactively. since Fishman Island is underwater and a big part of the arc is the desire for its people to "live under the sun's light above freely"! (literally one of the main themes there is their history of oppression and slavery srsly) it would fit so well.
Also, since Fisher Tiger was a slave to the world nobles and created the sun pirates, imagine him mentioning it to any of the Sun Pirates. He literally formed the Sun Pirates with the mark/brand of the sun!!! Imagine him mentioning it in Jimbei's flashback, and we don't know anything about Nika yet, so we brush it off (or the diehard theorists connect it to the aforementioned example in Impel Down) until the reveal. Kuma's memories show that his dad used to tell Nika's stories to slaves in Mariejois so imagine Fisher Tiger hears it while he's there. and Jimbei not really understanding it until Vegapunk explains it in Egghead, and he's shocked to realize the being/deity Tiger spoke of was real and is Luffy himself, and realizes it's fitting considering how he fights for freedom and helped Fishman Island before.
imagine. that would have been so good! Not only tying Luffy himself to Nika in how he's perceived by the oppressed and imprisoned (like how Kuma saw him in his flashbacks) but also emphasizing the whole "liberation" and "freedom" aspects in regards to others more (adding onto his beef with slavery and celestial dragons/world government more) as something that's just inherently Luffy, his personality which led to the devil fruit choosing him.
It would make Nika's presence feel like less of a last-minute thing stuffed in with the Joy Boy, more sprinkled in along the way, especially considering the devil fruit is named after it specifically. I know the World Government went through a lot of trouble to try and erase those names but we can tell they weren't completely successful, so it should've been brought up more. it would also add to Saturn's fury, that no matter what they do to erase Nika's existence people will constantly hope for it, people will literally wish it into existence (devil fruits) and it will always survive like a stubborn cockroach, in the places that should be most devoid of hope (prisoners in Impel Down and slaves in Mariejois).

Someone said japanese speaking zoro so i have spawned myself in this dilemma.
i dont speak it but ill try my best to portray what it'd be like.
(my brain is officially fried but i think this turned out fairly cute, ngl i like the style this writing has.Might fry my brain some more with this another time.)
Sleeping tiger
Roronoa zoro x reader
「このように持って。」 "Kono yō ni motte."/"Hold it like this."
The green haired male gestured to your sake cup showing you how to hold it properly, you were in Wano for a while however it was the first time you stumbled upon this man. You listened closely even though barely able to understand his language, you had to get context clues from his actions and make due with what little you knew about the language.
You held the little red cup between your fingers clear liquid closhing gently around it's edges.
「 乾杯。」 "Kanpai." "Cheers."
He clanked your cups the alcohol spilling over your hands as you hurriedly copied him.
With a loud hiss you shook your head a bit, the flavour was strong and rich not to mention it made you throat tingle just from a shot.
「どうだった?」 "Dōdatta?"/ "How was it?"
He poured himself another fill, hands resting on his knees as he asked you, a straw fidlling between his lips.
「うまい! 」 "Umai!/Delicious!" your eyes gleamed looking at him as you responded with your basic knowledge raising a tiny smile from him.
"え? , 日本語を話せるとは知らなかった。なんでもっと話さなかったの?" "Eh?,Nihongo o hanaseru to wa shiranakatta. Nande motto hanasanakatta no?" "Huh? , I didnt know you could japanese. Why haven't you spoken more? "
You chuckled, flustered with this sudden barrage of foreign language, you knew what he meant but explaining it will be a little hard. he slouched back losing a bit of his interest as he watched you piece together words, maybe you didn't know as much as he thought.
「私は話すのが苦手ですが、他の人を見て言語を学びました。 私の発音は大丈夫ですか?」 "Watashi wa hanasu no ga nigatedesuga, hokanohito o mite gengo o manabimashita. Watashi no hatsuon wa daijōbudesuka?" " I'm not good at speaking, but I learned the language by watching other people. Is my pronounciation good?
「わるぅなな!」 "Waru~unai na!" "Not bad!"
he chuckled raising for another toast, clashing the cups once more the liquid seeped down your throat, you celebrated this as a begining to a friendship with this stoic man.
「ごめんね、ずっとここでお酒飲んでるのに、まだあなたの名前を知らないの。」 "Sumimasen, zutto koko de o sake o nonde imashitaga, mada anata no namae o shirimasen." "I'm sorry, we've been drinking here all this time and I still don't know your name."
He sucked in a breath of air the punchy flavour of alcohol stinging his tounge a bit.
「ゾロだ。」 "Zoro da." "Zoro."
He answered nochalantly hoping not to ruin his peaceful moment by saying his name to you. Not that he was worried about it, he just really didn't want to start a fight for no reason.
You choked on your words a little. 「ええ、まじ?!おまえロロノアゾロ?」 "Eeh~ maji?! Omae Roronoa Zoro?" "Huh?! Seriously, you're Roronoa Zoro?"
「そよ、なんかもんかあるのか?」 "Sō yo, nanka monka aru no ka?" " Thats right, Is there a problem with that ?"
Your eyes sparkled watching him, his attitude changed a little to your antics as he laid back arms stretching behind his head like a lazy tiger.
「いいえ、ぜんぜん。」 "iie, zenzen." "No not at all."
You waved a hand infront of your face excusing his comment with a chuckle, the two of you seemed to be getting along well despite the language barier not like there was a big one however it was exhausting to use your brain to talk so much. You adverted your gaze to the scene before you watching as pink petals flew in the wind.
Zoro only huffed, relaxing more he slowly fell asleep before you.
「ほら、眠れる虎。」 "Hora, nemureru tora." "Look a sleeping tiger."
you giggled watching his face scrunch up a tiny bit, a small blush spread on his cheeks as he hid it in the shade.

No Surprises-A Trafalgar Law X Reader Fan Fiction
Extras-ONE
fluff, sfw, some cussing, mild angst
Three years later:
Your office is silent. All that you hear are the sounds of your pen scribbling, and the occasional creaking of the floor beneath you. You glance at a photo on your desk. You brush off the dust that settled on Kanna-ya’s picture, and stare at it for a moment. You adjust it, so it’s facing towards you alittle more, and give the photograph a painful smile. You paused, and went back to work. But, you could hear tiny little steps approaching, no-scurrying to your office. You can hear a faint grunt as you glance at tiny hands gently pressed against the side of the door to your office, always left slightly ajar. “Come in,” you say.
“DAAAAAAAAAAAAD” Taiga-ya pushes open the door and runs over to you.
Taiga-ya hugs your leg, attacking it with hugs and nibbles. “Dad-ya! When are we going to play! You’ve been busy for like fifteen quadrillion kabillion yearsss”
Taiga-ya wore her green “scarf” that Zoro gave to her. She loved it. It made her feel like “The strongest Trafalgar tiger ever-ya!!”
Law picks her up and sets her in his lap “Here, let’s call the guys and cancel these plans, Taiga-ya.” Taiga’s eyes sparkle. Law’s eyes glance at another photo on his desk of the two of you, happily married, embracing one another. He smiles a little. “Daddy!! I never see you smile like that!! It’s so pretty!! Why don’t you do it more?” “Because, the only one who can make me smile that way is mom-ya” He plants a kiss on your forehead. Taiga tries taking your hat and putting it on her head. When you realize this, you help give it to her. She looks so cute. Cora-san? Kanna-ya? I hope you’re watching. I’m going to be the best father I can for her.
“Hello, Captain Law? We have important news for you. The vice-” Law holds the phone close to Taiga
“GO FUJK-MMM1m!1 Whoops. Interception from Captain Law. Sorry, that was my Daughter” and pulls her back to his chest. Taiga bites his arm.
“Oh Law! Congratulations! You never mentioned her!”
“...I try not to, for her safety” Law looks down at his dear daughter with gentle eyes. Her face is buried into you, saying through your chest (muffled) Bakayaroooo!!! He was so proud of her. He wanted to settle down somewhere private so he could raise you safely. But, at this rate, it just wasn’t possible. He still had so much work left to do.
Taiga-ya ferociously attacks her daddy-ya’s hand while he wrestles with the boring boat dudes on the other line.
“Hey, I’m going to spend time with her today, can we do this tomorrow?”
“Oh Law…tomorrow morning, got it?
“Mm Hm.” You hang up.
You pull Taiga on your lap. “Did Zoro-ya teach you that phrase?” “Yea B)” God Dammit, Zoro-ya. You’d deal with that mosshead later.
“Dad! Can you tell me a story about mom?”
“Your mother?” Taiga nods, happily “Hm…once, for my birthday, mom-ya gave me a present. These two small hibiscus flowers. She found them in a place called Wano and said I’d look good in them.Taiga-ya…do you want one of them?” “:00000000 YEAAAAAAAA!!!” “You have to promise me that you’ll love it, okay?” Taiga energetically nods. How much energy did Kanna-ya have? It would explain how she could go on and on, you suppose. You smile.
“Here, Tai-ya” you gently unclip the yellow hibiscus from your coat.”The yellow can remind you of me, and the flower will remind you of mom-ya.” “Thank you, Dad-ya! I love you ! You’re the best captain ever!!” Taiga nuzzled into Dad-ya’s chest. “I love you too, Tai-ya” Hehe, just like her mother. She’s brilliant for her age. She reminds me of Luffy, in a way, too…
Sunlight hits the framed photo of you and Kanna-ya, and you invite Taiga-ya for ice cream. “Alright, Tai-ya? What flavor?” She’s resting on your shoulders, wearing your hat. You’d give up anything for her. “COOKIES AND CREEEAAAAAAAAM!!!”
“Well, is it good?” You sit at the table across from Taiga, watching her eat her ice cream” it’s all over her mouth, but she doesn’t care. “Daddd this is sooo gwyuuddd!! Here!! Have some!” You lean over and take a lick. “Thank you, princess-ya!” Taiga smiles at you and goes back to focusing on her ice cream. The room was quiet. The only sounds in the room came from Taiga’s hyperactiveness and her licking her ice cream. “Daddy-ya! Can we play together and have a sleepover?” “It’s your day, pumpkin-ya. What do you want to play?” “We can go to the park!! Isn’t there a place nearby?” You boop her nose “is that what my little tiger-ya wants?” She nods furiously “okay oka okay! Be careful! You’re going to hurt yourself.
You wait for her to finish up. “Here, taiga, look at me.” You take a napkin and while her mouth from all of the dried ice cream. “Go brush your teeth and grab your shoes. We’ll be there soon, okay?” “Alright dad-ya!!” You can hear her trot off to her room. It may not show, but days like these were really hard for you. You were trying your best, but you missed your wife, so much. Something just felt incomplete. It was hard, really hard. But, you were doing this not just for Taiga, or Cora-san or Kanna-ya, but for yourself. You needed to live. You had too much to lose. “I’m ready, dad-ya! Let’s go!!”
Taiga runs over and tugs on your pant leg. You life her up, “and maybe tomorrow we can make cinnamon rolls!” and pull her in to smooch her cheek. She giggles, and responds by delivering an attack nuzzle to Dad-ya’s chin beard thing. A devastatingly critical blow! “Daddy! One day, I’m gonna protect you and be just like Mom-ya and Cora-san! I promise!” You pick up your daughter and look at her. You smile with your teeth “I’ll be cheering you on, tiger!” before smooching her forehead. 🤍
Yes, Zoro and Law are basically Dads in the afterwards of my fanfic haha. I’ll drop more content soon!!

So I’m taking a very small break from my tumblr hiatus to literally talk about the new opening and my thoughts about it bc I HAVE A LOT!!!
(Keep this Enso in mind from the opening and how the trail of the Enso continues onwards)
Under the cut for spoiler talks (for both anime and manga)
Okay so I apologize if this is a bit all over the place but please bear with me.
Something I noticed about Wano as that in a whole, is that it brings up circular natures of each character’s arcs and the story of finding as a whole as we saw through the flashback of what started 20 years prior with Gol D. Roger and his crew.
Every character got something depicted in their character arc that circles back to something in their past in Wano. Obviously the red scabbards doesn’t need much introspection I’m this regard outside of momonosuke, so I’m going to be focusing here on The Strawhats, Law, Kid, Yamato, and Momonosuke.
I’m going to start off with Yamato because of a key factor that I think really was subtle but adds so much to it. As we all know, Yamato when we were introduced to him, had chains on his hands. He was chained to Onigashima (a lone island which is important) at a young age. Now obviously, Yamato was meant to continue that theme of wanting to carry on Oden’s will but he was forcibly shackled there and to the past. Even when you see him with Ace, he’s still shackled and can’t break free of it until after Ace’s death when Luffy comes in and breaks those chains.
Luffy breaking those chains, and Luffy as a whole, was meant to be, of course, the symbolism of of freedom by him breaking the chains of what has bound ppl to their pasts and strive for the freedom to do as they please or move forward from the circular cycle or bonds of the past. This, along with Wano, is where the small trail from the Enzo I believe is impactful. Because every single character got some kind of development in their character that breaks them free from something that limited them or chained them to their past in Wano.
Zoro reaffirming his promises by becoming the King of Hell to better protect and carry out the promises that he made. Not only to his best friend, his captain, but also now to himself and his crew.
Sanji coming to terms with his past and moving forward with the knowledge that he may still have been modified as well but that will never define him, but rather have him tools to fight better to protect his loved ones.
Chopper with combating a virus while on the verge of becoming an ice oni (much in the same way Hiriluk was fighting against time to come up with a way to save people) and then find a cure with the chopperphage nebulizer that also was a pink cloud similar to the Sakura cloud that was set off when he left, formerly drum island.
Robin being entrusted by her friends and helping Sanji who called out for her, and thereby unlocking Demonia Fleure by also facing her past and breaking through the thoughts that her life doesn’t matter.
Brook with seeing the ppl of okobore town weren’t allowed to mourn for ppl that were lost but also being forced to face his past and know he’s got new friends to rely on and fight for.
Jinbei confronting Who’s Who and the battle where the Sun god Nika becomes a focus and him literally breaking Who’s Who with the visage of Fisher Tiger when he activated his own armament haki in regards to his past as a slave.
Usopp confronting his fears and becoming more and more brave and choosing to fight when he saves Kin’emon and Kiku, saying he hates the old traditions of simply laying down your life but rather you should fight to live.
Nami with saving Otama but also standing her ground in the face of potential death (much in the same way that Bellemere had for her and Nojiko) along with the declaration that Luffy will be king of the pirates when she formerly hated pirates.
I will get to Franky more in a moment, but the trust his friends had in his creations being something to save them rather than just being used as a weapon when Usopp and Chopper battled Big Mom.
Law not only made the decision that he wants to now live on and find out why he had to live his checkered life but also gave a very stunning tribute to Corazon who fought for him to live and be free.
Kid was forced to face the consequences of making the alliance with Apoo and Hawkins but broke from that by also developing a trust in the Strawhats and Law by fighting alongside them as allied rivals.
Momonosuke of course being the son of Oden and now finding his own will to live on and continue to carry on his father’s will by choosing to live and eventually, in the future, opening the land of Wano.
Now, here’s the biggest thing. Onigashima started on its own separate island, but has now moved onto the main landmass of Wano. What else lies on Wano, or rather below it?
Pluton.
I said I would elaborate more on Franky later but I’m also going to touch upon Law in this part as well. Franky as we know completely ripped up the documents regarding Pluton way back in water 7. I also wouldn’t be surprised perhaps if the Water in Law’s name holds some relevance to that and Water 7 as he is the surgeon of Death. Reason for this connection I’m proposing is because of this shot here in the opening which I don’t feel is coincidental if the them of the opening is anything to go off.
Now that the circular shackles have been broken, we are now moving away from the past cycles and forward into the new paths for each character and the story itself. I think the opening did a beautiful job of showcasing that this is the completion of what was started 20 years ago by Gol D. Roger and is now gearing us up for the path we’ll get to watch as the Strawhats move to find the One Piece.
Anyways, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

Y'all I haven't made any kind of one piece theory/thought post in a while, but 1074 has got me feelin some type of way.
One Piece manga spoilers ahead:
------------------------------------------------
1. This basically confirms that Cobra wasn't killed right?
2. Why tf are Wapol and Vivi together??? And why are they with Morgans??
3. "Cried her eyes out yesterday" - how quickly have things been moving?? With so many chapters on egghead I guess I've forgotten how recently the crew left Wano.
4. Are we bringing back Water 7 and Iceberg? Are we going to be revisiting the ship that was designed to counteract Pluton?
5. Not related to theories or anything but this is one of my favorite panels ever. It's so beautiful. Bonney is so beautiful.
6. Okay so obviously the guys in that second pic are celestial dragons. Do we think that this means that Kuma was a slave back when he was a child?
7. Something else that I think kind of gives some credence to this is that when we think of Kuma, we automatically think of the paw prints. And I know that it could be because "kuma" is "bear" in Japanese and he looks like a bear and bears have paws, etc. But the "paws" on his hands don't make sense. Bonney doesn't have anything like that. And I think that Kuma only has those "paws" because of his time as a slave for the CDs. In my opinion, they look a lot like callouses. On top of that, the brand that's burned onto slaves also looks kind of like a paw print. I'm not trying to say that his hands are like that because of being branded - I mean they don't look anything alike. But, there aren't a whole lot of "coincidences" in one piece and maybe Kuma kind of turned paw prints into his own thing like how the sun pirates did.
8. Speaking of the sun pirates, is Kuma maybe returning to Marie Jois to finish up the job that Fisher Tiger started?
9. Zoro is so hot
10. Zosan 💅🙏🤌

Rare Bloodline Au!
The Straw-hats prepare to protect, Luffy is more hyper then usual.
@alexoreality @q-ueen-potato
I summoned thee-
🪲
To clear things up
Zoro - Tiger
Nami - Cat
Usopp - Chameleon
Franky - Rhino
Brook - Skeleton (He used to be human)
Jinbei - He’s a fishman- He doesn’t need to change
Sanji - Fox
Robin - Crane
Chopper - Reindeer
I’ve decided that I’m no longer doing the whole story thing- I prefer random evens anyways.
Confuses people more.
It was after Wano
“So here’s the question are you human or not?”
“Hm?”
“No, Nami has a point that gear 5th thing clearly wasn’t human.”
“Oh that! Shishishi! I’m still human!”
“That clears up some things at least.”
“Wait… Do you see this?”
“See what?”
Nami went to Sanji and saw the ship
“What is it?”
“Hide the captain, the Whitebeard pirates are heading our way”
“Wait wha-“
Franky quickly hid Luffy
Luffy being rubber slipped out of Franky’s grasp
Robin closed her book about to fight
“Luffy-!”
Luffy stretched his arms around a certain someone
“Gomu gomu no…-“
“The poor soul…”
“Rest in peace.”
The said person took in the impact like it was nothing
“ACE!”
Ace hugged the rubber human back
“Sunshine!”
“THATS YOUR BROTHER?!”
The shouts came from both crews
“I see how it is I don’t get a hug.”
Ace gave the jaguar a glare
“Sabo!”
Luffy hugged Sabo immediately and Sabo smiled immediately
“Sunflower!”
Luffy grabbed Ace and included him in the hug
The trio laughed a bit at this.
The crews were all confused
“Oh wait… Luffy already told me those were his brothers.”
“AND YOU DIDN’T DECIDE TO TELL US?!”
“Forgot to.”
🪲
To be continued after Zoro gets beat up by his crew
