So normally we only get fullblown, extended and dedicated flashbacks for heroic characters in One Piece, the characters who we're meant to root for. The literal only TRUE exception we've had to this rule was Big Mom's flashback. Even fucking Doflamingo's flashback was tied to Law and Rosinante's

So the fact that we haven't gotten a single fucking GLIMPSE at Crocodile's backstory is?!?

Like sure, we haven't gotten like a Moria flashback, but you know, he literally told us all we needed to know himself, AND we got to see glimpses of him in the Wano flashbacks. Arlong didn't get a flashback of his own, but he did get to cameo in Fisher Tiger's flashback. And Rob Fucking Lucci got a flashback that was 6 whooping panels long

BUT CROCODILE?? Not only do we know almost Fuck All about his story, but also have never gotten as much as a glimpse at it? But his backstory has been HINTED and TEASED at multiple times??

Like. I am SURE the "Full Backstories for Heroes Only" rule is going to get broken again, but with Imu and Blackbeard already there just BEGGING to have their beans spilled, can we even be sure Sir Fucking Crocodile is somehow going to become A Villain So Dangerous To The Narrative that he ALSO should also recieve a Full Fucking Backstory?? For his Nefarious Schemes?? AT THIS POINT??

Dragon had a turbulent romance with Crocodile. Crocodile birthed Luffy. Crocodile left his baby with Dragon and Dragon gives him to Garp. Crocodile was AFAB until they met ivankov. Crocodile stabbed his son without knowing it was his son and then tried to make up for it on a literal battlefield

So many layers. So much drama. Luffy would also not give a single shit.

You know how a lot of Crocodad is based on the assumption that Croc did not know who Luffy was during Alabasta and probably would not have tried to kill him had he known (-> also why he helps Luffy in Marineford when he finally realizes the truth)

As in, the conflict was (partially) caused by the two parties not knowing they were actually allies (/family) and not enemies

crocodad but both crocodile and dragon are trans, crocodile got full ivankov's hormone therapy, meanwhile dragon got navy-sponsored medical transition and was comfortable with his body by the time he left and started the revolutionaries/met ivankov and didn't really see a point in changing anything more

Yeah... I keep meaning to write something for it, but I have almost 200 asks so like... actually getting around to it hasn't happened yet.

The shorthand version of events is that they meet post Enies Lobby when Garp shows up at Water 7. Koby thinks Lizard is incredible for going against her own father because of what he was doing. He knows it couldn't have been easy, but she did it anyways and he's quick to express such admiration. Lizard is stunned to have someone find good in her and not think less of her for who her father is. Puppy love ensues.

i already have, in that sketch with his crew! maybe it's too sketchy to tell and his coat cover so much of his body (on purpose! i like to think he got into the habit of wearing long coat to hide any curves) but this croc hadnt transitionned yet!

headcanon wise im not sure, i don't think he'd look that different, i draw him pretty much the same face wise, just younger. it's more about his behavior that ive got thoughts, i like the idea that having his dreams destroyed really messed him up.
