hi and welcome to tdp callbacks that would actually send me
"if i am the king then you have to let me go"
"i'm corvus, i was specifically requested"
"i don't believe in locks"
"haha nice one callum, he deserves it"
"lady justice came to me in a dream"
"don't get yourself killed."
"strength isn't always about weapons"
"shhh, nobody likes a noisy mage"
"tell me she wasn't your world"
"you're just like your grandmother"
"she’s not my friend, she is my prisoner"
"rickety snickers"
"wasn’t the horse~"
"i am a storm dragon. i certainly hope it's working."
"in the name of love, you may perform acts so unforgivable… you will never forgive yourself."
"we could travel the countryside and try the seven cakes of xadia!"
"i am prepared to do anything to protect the king. anything. i hope you will understand"
"i guess it wouldn't be the first time i accidentally on purpose ruined a super rare magical artifact."
"don't do this. i will kill you" "probably"
"anyone know any adventuring songs?"
"we can find more practical uses for this one"
"well, i think about it like this, why see myself as chained down, when i can be chained up?" "i admire your tenacity"
"just the three of us"
"watch, he'll come back reciting an epic poem about his adventuring. he's probably late because he's stuck thinking of a rhyme for 'legendary heroics.'"
"the world just isn't ready for what we have. "
"i have been doing research!" "yes, i can see that"
"i do not understand girls"
"i thought you disapproved" "i disagree. but i stand by you anyway"
"you know what? in a few years, when you’re older, buddy, we’ll sit down and have a heart-to-heart talk about sandwiches."
"i would rather die a king, than live as a coward."
"edge-frazzled"
"soren is a doof but he's my doof!"
"it doesn't matter what happens to me. live or die, this dragon goes home."
"the kingdom of duren has been suffering from a terrible famine for nearly seven years. "
"you big dumb human."
"even if you were wearing the rarest legendary armor, forged by sunfire elves... super dead."
"fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me. fool me three times, back to you again." "that's not how it goes." "shame on you."
#“i thought you disapproved” “i disagree. but i stand by you anyway” is SO rayllum coded like the harrai parallels are PARALLELING#and the 'you keep calling it a monster' parallel between rayla and sarai#there's probably more that i've missed but also add more!!!#something about duren's famine for seven years and aaravos returning in seven years i dunno but theres something there#hear me out#“if i am the king then you have to let me go”#but ezran says it to runaan#the vision?#lacking a little but still!-#still waiting for the sandwiches conversation between ez and callum PLEASE#if we don't have callum try and promise rayla that they'll be fine and can “travel the countryside and try the seven cakes of xadia”#paralleling viren#i will riot#rayla and her self sacrificing BUT it comes back because of her nature and 'rayla is a hero' not because of the moonshadow culture#ezran lady justice truthers RISE#please i want the LORE#i keep making up my own this isn't good i'll get too attached and then canon will just muck it up#'strength isn't always about weapons' says ezran as he hoists a nuke onto his shoulder 'but it is right now'#my personal headcanon is that he uses a staff to fight - a like his mum and b because it's not a sword and like#he forged the crown SPECIFICALLY so it wasn't a sword#tdp musical episode when#like they could go full subspace rhapsody (from star trek strange new worlds)#OR like in she ra where they randomly had like a sea shanty battle?? and scorpia singing i'm a spy#in the same way they've had rayla singing the lullaby and the dark eyed sailor shanty with finnegrin#someone stop me spamming the tags#oh wait theyre my tags#nevermind :)))#the dragon prince#giveusthesaga#continuethesaga

Dragon Prince Conspiracy Theory
Avizandum didn't kill Sarai.
She's dead, to be sure, but we don't actually witness her death. She and Viren are thrown from her horse at the same time, and somehow he survives with only mild bruising, and she is killed?
Avizandum didn't kill her. Viren did. That's why he has her last breath stored in a bottle to use to whip Harrow up into a rage again years later.
Viren killed her because she had become inconvenient to him. Harrow was listening to her over Viren, and it was making him harder to manipulate. Before Sarai, Harrow wouldn't have hesitated to agree to Viren's plan with the Magma Titan. So he had to get rid of her, before he lost control of Harrow.
He also wasn't planning on killing Harrow in the pilot of the show. He didn't decide to kill him and outright take the throne for himself until Harrow put him on his knees in Moonrise, and he realized it was over. Harrow had realized he was being manipulated and wasn't going to stand for it anymore. That's why he switched Harrow's soul out with Pip's, but then proceeded not to lift a single finger to help Soren and the Crownguard defend the room. He wanted the elves to succeed, and he had no intention of restoring Harrow's soul to a human body. Rayla escaping with the boys and the egg threw a wrench into his plans, and them stealing the egg is why he decided to have them killed. He realized they had already found the egg and decided he was an enemy, so he couldn't just groom Ezran into another puppet ruler.

Reunion
In which Harrow sees his sons again. [because @lunanightriderofthecove wanted a sequel to this one where Harrow sees his sons again and I thought that was a splendid idea. Happy Birdthday to the King of Katolis!]
Harrow cocked his head, glancing up at Opeli above him, adjusting his perch on her arm. He ruffled his feathers and let out a small coo, drawing her attention. She looked at him with an expression someplace between confusion and pi-
Oh, was that a bug?
Harrow lifted off from her arm, surroundings temporarily forgotten, and soared through the great double doors Soren had just opened to land on the red carpeted floor. He hurried forward, jabbing at the ground with his beak until he'd managed to skewer the cricket.
A loud thump came from behind him and he jumped, images of Viren and cage doors slamming flashing through his mind. He took to the skies again, except the sky had been replaced by a marble ceiling, cloudless and white. He squawked, panicking filling for a moment before-
"Dad?"
The voice snapped him back into his own mind again and he settled on a nearby table, turning to search for it's source. There was a throne at the end off the great hall, familiar though the wood was now scorched and blackened. And seated in it was...
He flew forward, wings flapping frantically. He looked so different, so much older. But Harrow would have known that face anywhere. It didn't matter how long he hadn't been himself, it was his son. He lighted on the arm of the throne, staring up into Ezran's big blue eyes as they filled with tears.
He was certainly older, and not just physically. Harrow could see the crown - silver in place of gold, but still just as heavy - sitting on his brow. The lines under his eyes that no child should have. Except he was no longer a child, was he? A teenager?
Harrow experienced the strange sensation of knowing that he was crying without the capacity to cry. The same feeling but none of the affects. He took a tentative step forward, talons hooking into the wood as he leaned as close as he could. He reached out, brushing his hand against Ezran's outstretched hand. He cooed, knowing his words didn't matter but wanting to say them anyway.
Except Ezran smiled through the tears, a small laugh forming in the back of his throat, "Yeah, I'm okay. I missed you, too."
Harrow stared up at him, then leapt forward into his lap, gazing up into his eyes as he began twittering again.
Ezran wrapping both hands gently around him, thumb gently stroking his feathers. But Harrow knew the touch for what it was. A hold, tight, but not constricting. As though he was afraid he'd slip through his fingers at any moment.
"Yes, he's okay, too." Ezran glanced across the room for a moment, "Soren, will you go and get Callum? And Rayla, too."
"You got it!"
Harrow turned to watch the Crownguard spin on his heel and hurry from the room, Opeli right on his heels. He had grown so much, too. But not just that, he had also changed. So much had changed. And he had missed all of it.
Harrow turned back to his son, cooing another question.
Ezran smiled, tears still spilling silently down his cheeks, "You'll like Rayla. She's Callum's girlfriend."
Harrow twittered and watched Ezran's face fall. He hopped closer, cocking his head to the side worriedly.
"Yeah I... I guess he did finally get over her. There's a lot to tell you, Dad. I don't really know where to start."
The beginning, Harrow prompted. He would have been happy to listen to Ezran talk about anything for hours, anything at all.
His son took a deep breath, but instead of answering his questions, he asked one of his own, "Did Lord Viren do this to you?"
Harrow's eyes narrowed and he dipped his head, squawking a frustrated confirmation. When he got his han- talons on that traitorous mage he would-
"He's dead," Ezran told him, gently.
Harrow stopped his squawking, staring up at him. A wave of emotion crashed over him, confusing and unexpected. Surely not... sadness. Not after everything Viren had done?
"I'll explain everything once Callum is here," Ezran assured him. Then he added; "I'm so glad you're back, Dad."
Harrow cooed in agreement, rubbing his head against Ezran's hand once again. Just then the doors flew open behind them and he turned to find Callum standing in the doorway, taller and wearing-
Wearing the robes of the High Mage's office, a white streak through his hair.
An image of Viren, not much older than his son must now be, standing in a similar outfit and a similar castle flashed before his eyes.
But then Callum took a hesitant step forward, gait breaking into a run, and the image was forgotten.
"Dad!" he cried, dropping to his knees before the throne to throw his arms around Harrow, who stepped forward into his son's embrace. He cooed softly, nuzzling Callum's cheek with his head.
"He says he's glad you're okay, and that he loves you very much," Ezran supplied.
Callum pulled away after a moment, staring down at him with wide eyes. "We're going to get you out of there," he said, a small smile tugging at his lips. "I know a spell that will fix all of this."
Harrow stared up at him, once again the image of Viren flashing over his son's face. He looked away, gaze wandering over the room to land on-
The assassins. They had found him. Somehow they were here.
Harrow launched himself into the air, squawking furiously as he tried to draw Callum and Ezran's attention. The elf, who had previously been skulking in the doorway, flinched back. He saw Soren reach out towards her and for a moment felt reassured, but the Crownguard merely patted her on the shoulder before pushing her gently into the room. Of course. Why had he trusted Viren's son?
Except then Callum turned, eyes lighting up at the sight of her, and beckoned her forward as well. She walked hesitantly to his side and his son straightened up, tucking an arm around her waist. Harrow stopped cawing and lighted back on the arm of the throne, wings spread protectively before Ezran.
"Dad, this is Rayla. My girlfriend," Callum said. The elf gave a small wave.
"We're at peace now, with the elves," Ezran said from behind him and Harrow turned to look at him. "Didn't Soren tell you?"
An image of a green haired elf surfaced from his memory, hand outstretched and full of berries. Harrow lowered his wings, cooing softly with embarrassment. He remembered, now, Soren introducing him. And- and there had been another person there, too. Not one of Viren's children. Corvin? Corvus! He had been there as well, working alongside the elf with comfortable familiarity.
Harrow dipped his head beneath his wing. It was becoming harder and harder to connect the dots. To hold onto the pieces of himself that weren't as close to his heart. He could feel things slipping away from him, things he knew he should know and remember. But the image of his sons had always remained clear in his mind, an anchor holding him together at his center, keeping all the drifting pieces together. Or as together as they could be.
"It's okay," Ezran reached out and stroked his head, seeming to sense his worry. "Callum is going to get you back."
Harrow looked up at his sons, glancing between them. Ezran gave him a watery eyed smile and Callum knelt back down to reach out and hold him again. The three of them reunited at last.
Whatever had happened over the years he'd been gone, however much they had grown and changed, these were his sons. And so long as he held onto that knowledge, he knew nothing else mattered.

something about the aftermath of Viren taking Lissa's tears, whereupon:
he either backed away and left her there, sobbing, possibly barely sparing her a glance (how could she just be willing to let their son die?) or looking at her with cold eyes, and she knew as the door swung shut that their marriage was over (but she believed that perhaps it'd be mutual, and he'd understand why)...
OR
he cradled her face in his hands, his touch now gentle, brushing back her tears and shushing her cries like he wasn't the reason for them in the first place, and watched in love and pain and confusion as she recoiled from him, and she knew their marriage was over, and that he'd never understand why

Thinking that Viren had to attend Harrow and Sarai's marriage while his own had just been blown apart
Whatever happens, do NOT think of him trying to celebrate with his friends but coming back to his High mage office and drinking or dark-magic injecting himself all night long, thinking he had shut the door but little Soren and Claudia do get a peek despite Peres's watch
Soren turns away because he knows Viren will reject him but Claudia rushes in to take care of him because who else will now that mom left
Years later, on Callum's 16's birthday, Soren checks his office and sees the recently new High mage Callum sleeping at his desk with empty booze bottles around him -because Rayla left him on that day a year ago and he really can't celebrate.
Soren enters the office and carries Callum in bed.
The next year (s4e1) he is the one organising Callum's surprise birthday party.

Do we think part of Soren’s attitude towards Corvus in season 2 is because of whatever shared history they might have.
We know Soren loves to compete with Corvus post season 3 and challenges him to stuff all of the time.
What if Soren had mentally been doing that his whole life? Corvus may not have even been aware, but Soren was always comparing himself to Corvus. Always wondering how somebody could be so good at everything he put his mind to with seemingly no effort (from Soren’s POV at least).
And Soren put 110% into everything and still wasn’t good enough for his father (while everybody viewed him as continuously goofing off).
Do we think Viren ever saw how young Corvus was and how he’d achieved so much in the Standing Battalion and made an offhand comment, pushing Soren to become the youngest member of the Crownguard?

so, the guy in the ace flag colors
(ace flag made with colors picked from Aaravos turnaround model)
Tumblr media
✨Reproduces through asexual reproduction✨
Tumblr media
Aaravos really be out here spawning the caterpillar from his own mouth like he's budding, huh.
mlem mlem plop
Step 1: spit out a bug Step 2: bug receives primal radiation to begin growth Step 3: pod Step 4: open pod
Tumblr media
Leaves me to wonder, from a scientific perspective: if Sir Sparklepuff is indeed a clone/bud of Aaravos, maybe Sir Sparklepuff actually has Aaravos's true form. Ahaha, god that would be wild.
(But don't you think it's a little sus that these godlike beings just so happen to look exactly like elves, even though they're thousands of years older? I do. I don't trust that beauty. Something's up. Maybe it's benign, or some kind of "become an aspect of what you're worshipped for" or something. But if you could bend reality then why would you keep looking like elves 24/7? And you know I'm asking seriously because I'd be an elf for like 2479 years first before I tried any other shape. So: if god, why elf?)
Anyway, this asexual reproduction is the funniest thing in the whole show to me. Aaravos is the sluttiest slut who ever slutted, but he doesn't understand sex at all... unless he does, but with his Startouch brain, sex is just the same as everything else.
Which is extremely, extremely asexual of him.
Y'all can pry genius idiot asexual Aaravos from my cold dead hands. I'm keeping him forever.

I was watching Reel james interview with Aaron and there he pointed out that in the scene where we learn about Aaravos' prision, there's actually a giant corpse burried there. It was a hidden element and apparently important to the story, enough to be connected to Aditi being "swalloed" but not in the way we might think! I feel like we might know who that corpse belonged to, so I'd like to connect the dots and present to you all my theory.
Being straight foward, who do i think that corpse belongs to? Leola. Why? And why that matters? I'll present my case:
I think that the Startouches are Gods that created the world of Xadia, both human, dragons and elves. Aaravos and Leola were close to one another (as friends, family or lovers?), but Leola was the first one out of the two to pity the humans. Leola cared for humanity and Aaravos cared about Leola. Leola then decides to help the humans, maybe she tried to act under the radar and disguised herself as a unicorn, so the others Startouches wouldn't find out about this, as the humans were MEANT to be weak and suffer.
But soon after, they find out that Leola gave humanity magic, and decided to punish her for it, leading to her death? And because Aaravos was close to her, but not the one that defied their plans, he was spared by the others, but casted out to the world of Xadia, unable to go back to his people, and stripped away from his original status and power. Filled with bitterness, he plotted his revenge, to undo and destroy all of the other Startouches creation from inside out, by the hands of humanity, the ones that Leola pitied, the ones that the others despised, and in the process he got closer to humanity, learned their culture, their ways of doing things, he learned the love that Leola held for those creatures. She was prometheus and he was Lucifer!
If it wasn't obvious, I think the Startouch can shapeshift, I think they're actually massive beings, and both the skelleton and the statues are actually their original sizes!
Some of it is just pure headcanons because I don't have strong evidences, but here is what I do have:
Recently we learned from Aaron that the Startouch elf we see in the opening is actually named Leola!
Tumblr media
It came as a surprise because Leola was also described as a unicorn, but not just any unicorn, the very one that gifted humans with primal magic. This is information comes from Tales of Xadia Handbook:
Tumblr media
And when I read that tweet from Aaron, I immediately went to check that info on Leola, because I never actually read the handbook, and I was puzzled when I found a screenshot of that text and also the information on the wiki about unicorns, because in both wiki and the handbook is only written that "the elves" warned the unicorns, but WHICH elves? I distincly had the memory of it being the FIRST elves (aka, Startouch Elves), and then today I remembered where that info came from!! Is from book one: moon prologue!
Tumblr media
Previously I theorized that "Ripples" is not a story about how humans came to wield Dark magic, but actually a story BEFORE they even learn that. The reason for that is the choice of words used to describe the magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Precious primal flames" "undeserved power", such words used to describe what they had and what was destroyed. And then there's the implication that Aaravos' plan was to have the destruction of the Startouch empire come from the hands of the very humans they once despised so much.
The next logical thing to get from Ripples was that it described the birth of the Sea of the castout, caused by none other than Aaravos falling from the sky! The short story describes a small star falling down, changing the world, birthing a new sea.
Tumblr media
It HAD to be Aaravos right? He's a fallen star! But he wasn't the one that gifted humanity with primal magic, through primal stones. He was the one that gave them the Dark magic. Back then I thought that maybe he was the one to do it, but if Leola and Aaravos are connected, then ripples might be about Leola's passing/falling.
Cookiesaddict made a post pointing out the possible connections of Aaravos and Leola, you should read it, but to summarize the points. Once in the NYCC this question was made:
Tumblr media
Cookie suggested that this person might be Leola. During the S5 watch party I asked Devon if the Statues in the Sea of the cast out were made before or after Aaravos was impriosioned, because people were wondering why the hell would the prision have that GIGANT STATUE almost screaming: HEY, AARAVOS IS HERE!! COME GET HIM!! and this was the response!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, we see that statue both in the show and as a sketch, the other elf is known as "The merciful One" as disclosed by Aaron on twitter. BUT HMMMM THAT SKETCH.... LOWKEY REMINDS ME OF... THIS SKETCH....
Tumblr media
The one from Ripples!!
Personally I think in S6 Aaravos will tell Viren about Leola, and maybe through that story we'll find out why the hell did Aaravos insisted on having Viren to live until the end, and how their themes/motives are actually more similar than we thought it was. It's not about power, but about what they'll do to save/avenge their loved ones, their family. I also read a theory that the sparklepuff sacrifice was a test on Aaravos part, while I do think that with the theory of mine it might make sense, I also fail to see why would he go to such an extent to test Viren? Maybe Aaravos realizing that Viren is much more of a family driven man than he already knew he was (as he mentioned he wouldn't expect him to sacrifice Claudia or Soren) will be the thing to trigger their interactions where Aaravos tells him about Leola. As things stands now, Viren is the only logical character to be the narrative tool in which Aaravos shares his side of the story. They're the one that have the most intimacy for him to be "vulnerable", and perhaps their final departure will come from Viren trying to talk Aaravos out of his path of revenge, to share the realizations he had with his nightmares, ohhh my god, can you imagine, Aaravos finally is vulnerable, finally shares about Leola, shares his grief, to the one he thought might understand, because they're similar, but Viren is too far into his search for personal redemption, and belittlethe bitterness Aaravos held in for so long. Super ultra gay divorce is coming (in my delusions).

probably took care of sir sparklepuff while it was transitioning into the butterfly...(it's my way to coop)
...eats flowers
can and has went into virens dreams and then denies ever being in there
has the softest hair even by elf standards

Lissa had always wanted a mirror.
A big one, nearly ceiling to floor, and rimmed in gold or silver. Pretty, pristine. Elegant.
Warriors in Del Bar prided themselves on fine furs and neatly braided hair, and though her family had never had much money—just enough to send her for schooling as a minstrel, which had brought her to Katolis ("If you were really twice as clever you'd go into maths or medicine," her mother had admonished)—Lissa had taken as much pride in her appearance as she could. She knew the cut of her furs draped over her shoulders made her look fetching, and where to place the flower in her hair to bring out her eyes.
Fetching enough to catch the eye of the court mage's apprentice, clearly.
In the lead up to their wedding, Lissa had brought up her yearnings, surprised when her husband-to-be resisted.
"You certainly spend a far amount of time preening like a peacock," she'd needled goodnaturedly.
Viren had snorted in reply, sitting on the bench in the courtyard they often occupied these days. "What do you need with a mirror when you have me each day to tell you how lovely you look?"
And then he'd leaned in and kissed her sweetly, softly, and she hadn't dropped the matter entirely in the weeks to follow—"Couldn't it be your wedding gift to me?"—but one day, he wakes up from a nightmare and confessed the truth.
"The first time you do dark magic, mages... fall prey to visions, nightmares. In mine, there was a mirror. Oblong and grand."
Lissa takes his face in his hands, his beard just a tad untidy; she'll fix it for him later in the morning, under the warm light of day. For now she hopes the warmth of her hands are enough, his skin clammy and cold—almost gaunt and grey with fear.
"I saw—a version of myself. Grotesque, and... Sometimes, I still cannot get it out of my head."
She pulls him to her, stroking his back and catching their reflections in the tiny, square mirror across the way on their dresser. His breathing slows, and she smiles when his hands drift to the growing curve of her stomach. His ear to her heartbeat.
"It was just a nightmare," she assures him, drawing away to look again into his handsome face, and Viren leans into her touch.
She has what she needs; a large mirror does not need to be among them.
(Years later, in one final bid for her favour, Viren buys her the grandest mirror his yearly shillings can afford, but all she sees is the jagged lines on his face, covered up by more magic. Besides, it's not like she spends time in their bedroom anyway these days.
Even later, Viren hauls the mirror from his nightmares from the dragon king's lair back to the castle. What does it matter what he becomes?
Lissa is already gone.)

Both Claudia and Viren had a talk with someone their trust in a personal crisis:
Tumblr media
By Claudia, she talks with Ez of her past with her parents divorce, which is still present after years. And if she could something for the paralyzed Soren without using magic; the result is no and a dark spell fueled with real lifeforce to healing him.
Tumblr media
In Virens case, he bids K'ppar for advice to heal Soren from his sickness, but his mentor didnt want using him such powerfull dark magic. But in his pride, Viren trapps him in a coin and searches the healing spell.

I have a completely unsubstantiated headcanon that Harrow is just a completely insufferable brat as a child because he actually had a brother who was 8 or 10 years older than him who was killed in a riding accident, so he was suddenly crown prince at like 9 years old and his unhealthy coping mechanism for that burden of grief and responsibility was to be borderline-cruel to everyone around him for years, because hey, he's crown prince, he can do whatever he wants and what he wants is to feel like he has some kind of control over something in his life
Anyway then Viren, being from some poor backwater hamlet, has NO idea who he is when they meet (because what, is he supposed to memorize the entire royal family tree? sure, he knows what the king looks like, but come on) and therefore is perfectly willing to straight-up punch this horrible boy across his smug face when he gets out of hand, and Harrow's just like "you know what, I can respect that"
