I cannot wait for this Stan to reconnect with his Ford.

I still haven't figured out HOW exactly they'll meet yet, but I do think that Ford would ATTACH himself to Stanley and talk his ears off forever when they eventually get comfortable :] and Stanley would listen because HOLY SHIT, THAT'S HIS BRO HE HASN'T SEEN FOR 40-ISH YEARS, HE MISSED HIS VOICE. Stanley looks dead faced because of his ingrained poker face, but he's thouroughly enjoying it, even if sometimes he has no idea what the fuck Ford is saying. He never interrupts him though, since he knows people usually ignore or interrupt him mid-talk already. So sometimes Stan gets stuck in awkward situations where he has to leave or do stuff, but also doesn't have it in his heart to stop Ford and extract himself out of a (one-sided) conversation.

There’s something to be said about how Stanley Pines was treated his entire life as a lesser echo of his brother.

Stan was the failure. He had no value. He was never told he could thrive on his own, so he never tried. He balanced the weight of his dreams on remaining at Ford’s side, and when Ford revealed he had other plans, he spiraled. He lost his home, tried desperately to make a name for himself while spinning from identity to identity, losing more and more of himself as time went on. After years of running, his brother finally reached out to him again and Stan grabbed onto that lifeline, only to realize Ford didn’t want him to stay. Ford wanted Stan to do something for him. That was all.

Stan would never be anything without Ford. He would never be anything more than Ford. He took his brother’s identity while sacrificing decades of his life, but it wasn’t much of a life anyway, so what was there to lose?

Ford returned, and didn’t even thank him.

Stan had done all of that for nothing. His brother looked him in the eye and (from Stan’s perspective) decided he deserved nothing.

Stanley Pines deserved nothing because Stanley Pines was nothing.

And yet, at the end of everything, when everything else was lost, the world was saved.

Not because Stan pretended to be Ford, fulfilling his role as echo and shadow and double.

No.

Because, in that moment, Bill made a deal with Stanley Pines. The conman, the grunkle, the failure. The defender.

Stanley Pines, who would always protect his family, even if it meant sacrificing himself.

Stanley Pines, who was so very valuable, after all.

idk if it's a fun fact or not but! Right's favorite color is green. He never wears green but it's his favorite color. then I've been working on silly emotes for my OCs and they're "disappointeddad" and "tryme".

(Also there is an AU where these two are knights along with Paul and Evelyn while Brent/Caspian/Atticus are princes. Chris is basically Caspian's personal guard while Right just runs around trying to do everything to stay busy even when not on duty which stresses Chris out. But since he's kinda busy with the crown prince it defaults to Paul having to babysit Right.)

Damn, I was kind of against that "Enemies to Lovers" loveline from the beginning, between the second couple Ja Yeon and Bok Gyu Hyun, because it was more "Abuser and Victim to Lovers". I don't like that forced sympathy for someone who deliberately tried to hurt someone with their words (over a hundred times). I don't think that shit should be romanticized.

But from the beginning, it felt like the dude never took it seriously, his main focus was hiding he's rich. The second time they met, he even snapped at her, like, did you think you'll apologize once and she'll forgive you?! Oh you're having a bad day? What about all the bad days you gave her??

And the volunteering, he's not even doing it genuinely, lying, buying machines, making his secretary do more than half the work (on his day off may I add, which is just abuse of power as well).

I understand the show is trying to make us sympathize with him cuz his father is hard on him since youth, but that doesn't excuse you from wrongdoings, that you should genuinely repent for.

She's so sweet, and I really don't want her to end up with a dude who'll only repent once he falls in love with her, instead of the secretary who buys her food, remembers what she liked, goes out to meet her, believes she's a great writer.

I don't think any victim of verbal abuse would fall in love with their abuser, when said abuser genuinely don't even realize what they did wrong.

I really like how expresive Link is despite being non-verbal, but I don't actually know how being nonverbal works. Like does he have the ability to speak? If so how often would he speak and when? And I assume there being non-verbal is different for each person, like how does it work in general?

Yeah! So there's different degrees of being non-verbal! Some folks are completely non-verbal, some selective, and some occasionally.

For link I see him as kinda in the middle, leaning towards full non-verbal- Using words is overwhelming, but sometimes he uses them to be more clear or explain something that's more complex. But if he was to speak too much, he would feel overwhelmed, and thus not do good at his job/struggle to keep composure, which is how I interpret Zelda's diary entry from BOTW:

"Bit by bit, I've gotten Link to open up to me. [...] When I finally got around to asking why he's so quiet all the time, I could tell it was difficult for him to say. But he did. With so much at stake, and so many eyes upon him, he feels it necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden. A feeling I know all too well... For him, it has caused him to stop outwardly expressing his thoughts and feelings"

i used to freehand comics all the time as a child and since the part i liked was the drawing part i would just draw panel after panel because i didn't want to stop drawing to think about icky icky words, plus the story TOTALLY still made perfect sense! to me! and noone else, but 'whoooo caaaaares omgggg its not like comics and sequantial art are a communicative meeediummmm lmaoooooo'. i spent my entire childhood telling myself stuff like "oh pfft I know this story by heart- ill SIMPLY remember the dialogue and write it later" ...and. conservative X-men fans will see a franchise about an oppressed group of people who fight for their civil rights and freedom in a world that sees them as freaks and monsters and imagine themselves being on the mutants’ side but then can’t even handle masculine cis women in sports or a man with painted nails or cisgender teens on puberty blockers for health issues.

conservative X-men fans will see that oppressed group of freaks and monsters constantly facing the threat of an apocalyptic future specifically caused by hate mongers in powerful positions who very blatantly will and do destroy the same humanity they claim to be protecting if it means destroying Those Freaks and think “wow cool robot.”

conservative X-men fans will agree with the villain who was based on Malcom X and specifically came to hold his beliefs through surviving the Holocaust and claim that he can’t even be considered a villain anymore because his ideology makes sense and is consistently proven right by the humans’ unwavering intolerance, but go into hysterics the minute a real life minority holds any sort of hatred or resentment toward their oppressor.

conservatives in general will always pretend that the media they consume doesn’t have any deeper meaning or purpose other than being entertainment slop because they almost always retreat into media for some type of “comfort” or escape from having to acknowledge reality and their own bigotry. they want the freedom to be bigots without any pushback or consequences so they surround themselves in an echo chamber of fictional characters and universes who can’t argue with them or tell them they’re wrong and bad.

conservatives have to constantly and deliberately turn their brains off to consume a specific piece of media because they know that they would be the villain in it if they gave it an ounce of deeper thought and that’s exactly why they push back so hard against anything that drags them out of their comfy echo chamber, anything that threatens their blissful ignorance.

they thrive on the idea that their media isn’t “that deep” or based in/affected by reality; that there’s no such thing as representation or allegories or coding in media (and alternatively, that representation doesn’t matter or is just propahanda). they thrive on willful ignorance and they want to convince everyone else to be just as ignorant and the death of media literacy is exactly how they’ll achieve it
