Being progressive is more popular than moderates (and especially Republicans) want us to believe. And I thank all the gods and stars that Harris (already more progressive than Biden) fully leaned into that and asked Walz to be on her ticket.

I don't know whether this needs saying anyway, but: The American policing and immigration enforcement systems will not be improved, even now, by better people being in them. ICE and CBP won't do a more humane job if more people join them. This isn't one of those situations where, if you don't take a job, a worse person will. This is a situation where the country needs to be made as understaffed as is possible. Additional officers / etc only mean the US has enough hands to conduct more and broader operations, whereas being shortstaffed means there is less that these policing systems are able to do, fewer people they are able to target.

Source: I am a random person saying what I believe. But I do believe it in the extreme. I imagine you are going to see an influx of hiring ads for cops and the like and you need to understand it's because the USA is trying to do something for which it is shortstaffed, and what we need to do is keep it shortstaffed in this area. As shortstaffed as possible, in this area.

New bill in Congress has a rider - and this one will prevent anyone to regulate or legislate on AI for a whole decade. (for proof see link 2)

This is what would be called - a Horrible Idea. And a Terrible Law. If you have the spoons - and time -give your State Rep a Call about this. This is such a recent addition they might not even know its on there.
