11) what are their best skills? arcana, history, sleight-of-hand?

Cracked open the game to gather the Stats ..

Giilvas has proficiency in Stealth , Nature , Animal Handling , Perception , Survival , Intimidation and Persuasion , with Intimidation and Persuasion as his highest .

Zerxes has proficiency in Arcana , History , Investigation , Nature , Religion , Medicine and Persuasion , with Arcana and Medicine being his highest

Seoras has proficiency in Athletics , Investigation , Nature , Insight and Survival , with Insight and Survival being his highest

20) does your tav have a best friend in the party? what's their dynamic like?

Giilvas would probably point to either Lae’zel or Karlach .

Lae’zel and him balance each other in very welcomed ways , both being rather headstrong yet in different ways . Giilvas appreciates Lae’zel and her willingness ( and skill ) to intimidate potential threats , and her support of when they do have to fight a battle that they may or may not have been able to avoid . Giilvas is her limiter , in this case , as well . Being the voice of situational pacifism , helping them progress in places that require bits of deception . Giilvas gets them in , Lae’zel gets them out . They both respect each other as warriors , and know that they both want the best for the other , even if the methods and words may differ from what they’ d expect .

Lae’zel also cannot play an instrument to save her life , so Giilvas having the skill to do so ( and to prance and sing as he does it ?! ) is something she admires , even if she does roll her eyes at him preforming for spare coin . Giilvas , similarly , sucks at strategy . His plan starts at “ get to place “ and ends there . How to get out ? What threats there may be ? Any potential complications ? Not his forte . He’ ll just hope for easy . Lae’zel doesn’ t . She knows what to prepare for , and how .

With Karlach , it was kinda bff love at first sight . Giilvas has experienced hunting for someone , only to learn it was a misunderstanding , so he didn’ t think twice about accepting Karlach with open arms and helping her instead of harming her . Both of them being the party’ s walls is another thing they connected on . Knowing they wanted to protect everyone , knowing they have the power to do so . ( With her calling herself Mama K , I can’ t help but picture her trying to give Giilvas a similar nickname . Mid-fight is when she tries them out on him , always ) Opening up later about her looming death , and Giilvas having something similar looming above him at all times , they kept finding things to connect on . They do sleep side by side on occasion , bedrolls close enough for one to reach for the other . Karlach gets nightmares , and Giilvas can easily scare himself out of meditation .

Karlach brings a bit of glee Giilvas almost lost , him realizing he became a bit of a nihilist at some point . Karlach holds out on hope , even when it seems near impossible . Giilvas is a bit of curiosity that Karlach is a bit too suspicious to act on , at times . He’ ll do the stupid thing first , and she can be sure that she can do it too , as long as he’ s in one piece after .

Zerxes would probably only say Shadowheart .

Both of them being Clerics , they have that bond near instantaneous . Their respective gods , at the beginning , harbour no love for each other . But they do not hate each other . They know that , if they started talking semantics and the ways their gods tell them to go about things, they would end up in an argument . But Zerxes follows Kelemvor for reasons outside of just agreeing with the principles that his god demands , and he’ s open to listen to Shadowheart’s reasons for following and worshipping Lady Shar . They make snide remarks to each other at times , mostly just to try and get a rise out of the other , but they’ ll protect each other from harm .

The Shadowlands do end up testing each other , seeing that they cannot fully escape their gods wills here , but they still sit together at camp . Even if they may have fought that day , they’ ll sit and say their apologies , they’ ll eat side by side to prove trust .

Later , when they both have all their cards out on the table , and they’ ve both come to terms with everything that they do and don’ t stand for , they take some time together . Drinking wine and discussing what they see in their futures . They both hope for the best things to come for both of them . And Zerxes makes a habit to hunt for night orchids .

Seoras’ top three are Wyll , Jaheira and Minsc

Wyll and him get along quick . He knows Wyll - he knows of the stories , and he knows that his family farm was aided by the Blade a few years back , but he never met the man- and he knows he can trust him . Learning of his Pact and the type of person Mizora is doesn’ t scare Seoras , he knows what people are forced to sacrifice to do good , and Mizora is just someone who took advantage of someone who wanted to do good . He just knows there has to be a way to beat her , and that Wyll won’ t suffer her forever .

They bond over swapping stories , Seoras shares things that happened at the farm or while he was selling in Baldur’s Gate , and Wyll tells stories of what sorts of heroics he would get up to before , and what sorts of things he wants to do in the future . They talk about places they want to go , things tjey want to try , and how they hope to return home soon . Finding Wyll’ s father is a top priority for Seoras , even with the suspicion that their bond may be rather strained .

Wyll promises to properly visit Seoras’ family farm , once everything is over

Jaheria and Minsc are people Seoras’ heard about growing up , folk tales and the type of people to aspire to be . Meeting them , and learning that they really are just people like himself and that they have their own flaws and lives outside of the stories he was told , made everything he had heard about them feel more real . He was nervous around them , at first , especially meeting Jaheria in the Shadowlands , but he settled down rather quickly .

Jaheria and Minsc are strange relatives , to him . Distant aunt and uncle that can tell some of the most hard to follow , but heartwarming life stories . They know the city well , having protected it before , and Seoras knows he can rely on them to help end this strange , strange situation he was pulled into .

27) how does your tav react to wyll's pact and patron? if they're a warlock, was there anything specific?

Giilvas is going to Kill Mizora . He knows the kind of conditions that make people take pacts , and he knows the sort of conditions those pacts demands . Having her show up , with Wyll hinting at a sort of punishment waiting for him when they return to camp , he makes it known that she isn’ t welcomed here . He does all but physically force her out , knowing that whatever he might do to her would end up being something that Wyll would be punished for later .

He doesn’ t harbour any ill will or feelings towards Wyll , pacts and bargains are things people keep hidden for reason that may be out of their control . He let’ s Wyll know he isn’ t upset , and that he’ s more prepared for her to show her face around their camp . He just wants to keep everyone safe , and wants to make sure Wyll feels safe here .

Zerxes feels like he’ s experiencing Deja Vu . He knows that Wyll’ s eye is a sending stone , and now he knows the face behind it . He and Wyll got off on a rocky start , Zerxes recruited Karlach first , and having Wyll show up that night with an intent to kill … it leaves a certain type of first impression .

However , seeing Mizora and seeing what she does to Wyll , he’ s reminded of his sister . Her taking a pact , hoping to better her life and to make things easier for the two of them . He sees her crying , once the terms of her pact reared their ugly head . He feels the exchange he and his sister had to undergo , the burn of his own skin .

He’ s enraged . Mizora shouldn’ t be here . And he wants to grab Wyll and shake him . Ask him why . Tell him he was a fool, that he should have ran from her . Instead , he sits with Wyll that night , and gives him some horn balm from his bag . Just like he did with his sister .

Like I mentioned briefly before , Seoras isn’ t frightened by her . He doesn’ t feel betrayed by Wyll , and he doesn’ t harbour anything over it . He treats Mizora … fine . He doesn’ t want to say or do anything that would keep her around longer than she should be . He doesn’ t yell , doesn’ t threaten . He just pushes her towards doing what she’ s planning to do , and hope she leaves fast .

He doesn’ t like her , at all . But he knows better than to try and test his own luck at that time .

He doesn’ t push Wyll for whys and hows , doesn’ t try to have him open up to him about anything ( he knows that Wyll probably can’ t , but he doesn’ t want him to feel forced to explain that to him ) , all he tells Wyll is that they’ ll get him out of the pact , and that he should try to get some rest .

29) after baldur's gate is saved, what will your tav do?

Giilvas’ very good three step plan is 1) Go to Avernus 2) Get married 3) Get revenge

Step one is simple . Go to Avernus with Wyll and Karlach . Raise hell IN hell , find a fix for Karlach’ s heart , beat Mizora once and for all ( and ransack her hell Barbie dream house she probably lives in ) , and maybe harness some cursed infernal knowledge while down there . This is going to take some time . A handful of years , kind of time . Giilvas doesn’ t care . He’ s committed .

Step two is the most difficult step . He and Wyll already wear wedding bands , and he keeps the proposal acorn in a pouch on his hip at all times , and in spirit they’ re an old married couple . But how does one get married ? How long do they have to plan ? What should Giilvas wear ? What traditions should they do ? Can they get everyone together for it ? Should they hold it in Baldur’s Gate or is that a bad idea ? Who do they even ask to properly wed them ? There’ s a lot of questions and a lot of answers and a lot of uncertainties . But Giilvas and Wyll are going to do it .

Get Revenge , the final step is rather self explanatory . Giilvas lost all his family and most of his clan to something that is still alive . And living . In the forest . It’ s hard to let go , when you see the children of the people that ran you out of home in Baldur’s Gate , knowing you cannot do anything yet . But , give it a few years down the line , and Giilvas will return to that forest with enough courage , enough sheer will and power , and one just as powerful husband , to settle a score .

Then , once these steps are completed … either they retire or they find some new lead to chase . Whatever comes their way first .

Zerxes’ and Seoras’ still have their posts games up in the air . Zerxes will probably return to his previous job , offering final rites and burying the undead . But he may end up staying with Gale and might end up aiding his lessons . There’ s also the matter of his sister , knowing she’ s out there . There’ s a few things in his future he has to sort out . Seoras wants to return to his family farm , but he knows it’ s likely gone after everything . He can see himself travelling with Halsin , maybe he’ ll settle into life as a proper druid . Who knows yet

a/n: thank you so much for loving the first one i did! i’m sorry i haven’t been as active, i go in and out of a creative mindset and this quarantine isn’t really pushing me to stay creative. i just sleep most of the time LOL. here it is! :)

[WAKING UP NEXT TO THE KARASUNO SECOND AND THIRD YEARS]

nishinoya yuu.

waking up next to nishinoya yuu isn’t filled with excitement or him jumping off the walls, like you might expect it to be. i feel like the first ten minutesof waking up for him are really slow, like he’s just barely opening his eyes and looking at the ceiling.

for some reason i really feel like he wakes up before you. he goes to bed at like two am, but wakes up at eight am to practice or go on a little jog. 

but every time he wakes up, the first thing he looks at is you. your peaceful state, your slow-rising chest, the little breaths leaving your slightly parted lips. noya is a really emotional person, and I can bet you real money that he gets real giddy seeing you next to him.

you don’t usually sleep in his arms because he’s a wild sleeper and probably starfishes, so when he wakes up his limbs are sprawled out, some on you, some hanging off the bed. and he just barely turns his head at there you are in your morning glory. 

his heart literally swells five sizes bigger. he’ll shift over to be next to you and move your hair out of your face or just mess with the hair at the top of your head, basking in the love you cause him to feel.

after a few minutes of doing that, he’ll let out a big ol’ sigh and wrap his arms around you, squeezing tight to wake you up.

“mmm,,,,noya, what are you doing,,,” “i’m just feeling grateful :)” 

and you look up at him, and there’s a feeling of security that fills you. he may not be the biggest or strongest, but the light in his eyes and the warmth in his arms that he wraps around you make you feel safe. 

not to mention that his hair is down and sticking out everywhere. it’s a cute picture that only you’ll ever see

you return his gesture and wrap your arms around him, thinking about different ways to make him stay in bed instead of going out for a jog.

basically; the morning is filled with hugs and soft smiles, knowing looks and arms that evoke the feeling of being safe and being loved. his hair is wild, and his hands are tugging at your own strands. 

tanaka ryuunosuke.

you two almost always wake up in the same position, his arms spread out, your head resting on one of them, one of his legs propped up like a tent and the other flat on the bed, you curled up against his side. since he’s a touch-starved individual, he finds any excuse for you two to be as close as possible every second of every day. 

you both actually wake up a few minutes apart, whoever wakes up first is a coin toss. and when you wake up first, you get to see his face void of the tension is usually has, his mouth is a little open with small snores coming out, his fingers twitching every few seconds

tanaka’s body reacts before he does, so even if you try to get up, his arms just holds onto you and keep you attached to his side. he swears he doesn’t do it on purpose, and that his body just needs you :’) 

on days when he wakes up before you he stays as still as stone. no joke, he’s so afraid of waking you up and experiencing your wrath that he just. freezes

but as he’s frozen, he takes the time to just stare. no smile on his face, he just stares, drinking in your sleeping form. he occasionally takes a change and slowly turns, stretching out his arm for his phone on the side table. when he can reach it, you can bet he has 200+ new photos of your sleeping and he makes them his screen savers

the second he sees your stir awake lightly, he pounces on you an covers your face in little kithes and saves your lips for last. sometimes he’ll wait until you open your eyes and look at him, pouting like “where’s my real kisses :(” before he gives you a big boy smooch

you giggle and caress his chest with your hand, happy that he wakes you up like a queen everyday. trust me, he’s happy he gets to be the guy whose face you see first thing in the morning

he usually scrolls through his phone for like an hour before getting out of bed, and you just sit there and watch tik toks with him. you two my wake up at roughly the same time, but you get out of bed before him to make some morning smoothies (he totally asks for a protein shake AGAGA) 

basically; your mornings get started at the same time, and he loves to make sure you’re up by pelting you with kisses that you love. you scroll through tik tok while being smushed next to his chest before you get up to make breakfast. 

daichi sawamura.

not gonna lie, when he wakes up he spend like a minute or two in bed at MOST, he hates just staying in bed because he feels like he could so much more productive than lie around and do nothing. you, on the other hand, wouldn’t mind staying in bed for the entire day. 

so here’s the way it usually goes: he wakes up a minute before his alarm (7:00am) and just quickly sighs before reaching over you and turning it off so it doesn’t wake you up. then he kisses your forehead (his breath smells bad, so he’s not going to kiss your lips) before getting up and washing up. he gets ready to go on a jog, and he kisses your shoulder before he sets out on his journey.

but every once in a while, there’s something wonderful that happens. he doesn’t feel like working out. he wakes up at the same time, but he just doesn’t feel like doing anything. on those days, he completely indulges in your warmth.

he doesn’t care if he wakes you up and hoists you up so you’re completely laying on his body. of course you wake up, but you already know what’s going to happen, so you just softly groan. “so you don’t feel like getting up and decide to wake me up? really?” “yes, really” “...you’re lucky i love you” “im the luckiest man alive” 

you two actually talk during mornings like those, you love pressing an ear against his chest and hearing the vibrations his voice causes. it’s like calming background noise to you. 

“are,,,you even listening. we’ve got a lot to do today” “i’ve been ignoring everything after you said ‘getting up’“ “...of course you have”

you haveto convince him to stay even longer in bed, because he really hates staying in bed, like he just wants to make “eggs or fucking toast or an OMLETTE PLEASE I JUST WANT TO DO SOMETHING”

in order to persuade him to stay for a little longer, you usually just kiss him. normally he hates morning breath, but when it’s you kissing him so tenderly he can make an exception or two

ngl it usually leads to making out or morning sex, like i said he needs to do SOMETHING 

basically; you wake up like a married couple. normally he gets up right away, but every once in a while he;ll decide to spend some extra time with the love of his life, and that time is usually spent kissing and...doing other things ;) 

sugawara koushi.

instead of you waking up in his arms, he wakes up in your arms. like his face is pressed against your chest and your arms is haphazardly resting over his shoulder. his arms are undoubtedly around your waist, his lags entangled with yours

every morning, without fail, he wakes up first and somehow slip out of your position and into the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth before making two cups of coffee and coming back into the bedroom, setting them on the nightstand, and crawling back into bed with you

usually he sits up in bed and moves you to rest your head in his lap so he can reach over to sip at his drink. his hands comb through your hair and he trifles through his emails just incase some parent messages him about something

sometimes he’ll stop scrolling at look down at you, feeling happy and 100% sure that he has the greatest life; first he wakes up in your arms, spends time with you, spends time with kids, and them spends more time with you 

the school he teaches at starts at like twelve pm, so he likes to take his time waking up so he’s as happy as possible. and spending a lot of time with you is key to that.

can only wait for so long before he pokes your side until you wake up. the entire time he’s like “please wake up” “i’ve got work in like four hours! let’s do something!” “i’ll make breakfast if you give me sufficient payment ;)” 

literally the second you wake up he props you up and you look drunk as hell when you first wake up but he still thinks you’re beautiful <3 cute rat 

he rests your head on his shoulder and kisses you until you’re fully awake, you don’t always kiss back but that’s because you’re not fully there  and you’re just,,, “is there a bird pecking at me? what the hell - oh, it’s koushi” 

“can’t you wake me up like a normal person?” “no, i like kissing you awake. isn’t that cute? :)” “not when you kiss like a bird.” “so you have,,,,chosen death?”

when he’s feeling extra happy he has no issue putting you on his lap, facing him. he wraps your arms around him before doing the same to you and burying his face in your neck and humming a soft tune. he’s just such a calming presence that sometimes you fall back asleep in his lap :’)

basically; it’s a cute and happy morning as he rests you on his lap and peppers your lips with kisses to wake you up. playful banter is included, and so it coffee breath.  

asahi azumane.

he would love to wake up to you pressed to his side, but he gets hot really easily, so he cant hold you to sleep. he totally hugs a small pillow to sleep and you can old press up against his back, which he doesn’t mind. 

he’s the type to wake up at ten am naturally, and every morning he yawns and stretches out his arms, rolling back a little before yelping at the feeling of you getting quietly crushed beneath him

when he realizes that it’s just you, his heart beat stabilizes and he turns over, flipping the sheets off of him to he doesn’t overheat, and grabs you hands, lacing his fingers through with yours

you’ve been dating for a while, so he’s completely comfortable doing skinship with you. he’s not embarrassed at how much he loves you. he likes to gently caress your face with his hands, his thumbs brushing over your cheekbones and sometimes across your bottom lip

no lie, waking up with asahi is the softest thing ever. he gives you one single kiss on your cheek, letting it linger for a few seconds before pulling away to see your eyes cracked open

by this time he’s lightly hovering over you, and he just lets out a slightly bashful smiles and leans down, his forehead pressing against yours

you think that you must’ve saved a cat orphanage in your past life in order to get he delicious treat of waking up with asahi’s face in front of yours everyday 

“good morning to you, too, azumane” “morning :)” “did you have that weird dream again?” “the one where hinata grows to be eight foot three and dunks me in a basketball hoop and leaves me up there and becomes the ace?” “yeah” “yes. yes i did.thanks for reminding me.” 

sometimes asks for extra cuddles before getting up to take a shower, and when you say yes he just :):):) and envelops you in his warm embrace and rubs his beard goatee thing on your forehead as you grovel in pain because it’s in that in-between phase where it’s scratchy and long

honestly struggles to get up in the morning because he really loves just laying and existing with you, his mind not focused or worried about anything but the way your chest rises slightly out of sync with his, and sometimes he imagines your chest heaving beneath his,,,,but hat’s astory for antoher time

basically; waking up with him is like a fairy tale. his gently lips and even gentler arms wake you up like a queen, and he makes sure that you feel the same way he does. sometimes there’s extra cuddles, sometimes there’s some showering together.

"Come on, don't be mad," Rise insisted for the hundredth time as they waited for the train to come through. They had been there for a few minutes, bags in hands and feet impatient. At least they a few CDs apiece, and a poster that Rise hoped would do for Chie's gift, even though it was Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon instead of Sonny-Sammy-whoever.

"Why not? My feelings are just as valid as yours."

"And it wasn't my fault! Like, you heard me try to tell him I didn't want any attention!"

"False modesty. I mean, I bet you say shit like that all the time, just so you look like a precious little princess."

The train going the opposite way whipped past, and she watched Ai's pink dress flutter for a moment until the din died down. Then she said in a quiet voice, "You want to be left alone? I will leave you alone. I just don't think that's what you really want."

"You were going to ditch me anyway. What does Risette want with some small-town teen queen when she's Japan's teen queen? It would happen sooner or later."

"Do you want me to apologise for your friend getting star-struck?"

"He was my friend first. And I mean, not that we're close, just that he's someone I-"

"Because I won't."

Ai blinked a couple of times before turning to look at her properly. "What did you just say?"

"I'm not going to apologise," Rise repeated firmly, her own features severe and intense now. "Remember me telling you I didn't even submit my first idol contest application myself? I never asked for all this. I have enjoyed it, sure — who wouldn't? But it's not 'my fault' people go crazy for celebs. Besides, I even tried to tell that guy not to make a big deal, to just let me hang out with my friend, and he kept fangirling anyway. My input clearly doesn't matter, so I am taking zero responsibility for him being an otaku. Do you understand?"

The other girl looked completely thunderstruck. In fact, she had no words. The train arrived shortly afterward, and they both got on without speaking, grasping for overhead straps as the doors slid shut.

It wasn't until they got off at the Yasoinaba station and Rise had started striding for the steps, feeling like a failure, that she felt her hand grasped from behind. She turned to slap whatever creep had grabbed her, but the creep was Ai, so she decided not to hit her. Yet.

"What?" No answer. Ai was too busy staring down at the space between their shoes. "Come on, it's getting late… I can still work a shift at Marukyu if you let me g-"

"I'm sorry!" she burst out, then cleared her throat to try again. "I apologise, Rise."

"What?"

"Shut up, don't make me say it again. I overreacted and I already feel stupid."

Cranking up the bubbliness to eleven, she gushed, "Oh noooo, I don't think I heard you at aaaaalllllll. What was that, Ebi-chaaaan?"

"Sh-shut UP!"

"Do you wuv meeeeee?" This time, Ai did yank her hand away and begin to stomp off down the steps, leaving a giggling Rise to chase after her.

"Like you said, have fun at Marukyu."

"You were a meanie," she told her, still laughing just a little. "I think I get to tease you a little."

"I don't like it. And I have explained why."

"Yeah. Your grade school classmates weren't teasing you, though. They were mocking you."

"Same fucking difference."

Jogging to walk side-by-side with her, despite Ai occasionally picking up speed to try and outstrip the idol, she went on, "Not really. Friends tease. Bullies mock… or sometimes hurt you physically. Did you ever get hurt like that?"

"Well… yeah, I did. But it's been a while. I mean, certainly not since elementary."

"Well that's good. I'll try not to tease you too much, but like, it's not going to work if I can't tease you. Because friends do that, and leaving that out would make this kinda fake. Right?"

Ai raised an eyebrow and glanced over at her. "I… do not follow that logic at all. You're weird."

"I'm not," she giggled, leaning down to smile up at her. "C'mon, it's fun. And I promise-promise I'll try to keep an eye on it so I don't make you feel really bad, and you might even get used to it. And that might help you with that 'everybody's tone is mocking' thing you feel."

"So let me get this straight. You think by teasing me, you're doing me a favour by desensitising me to people being jerks?"

"Right!"

"And that's 'friendship'? Putting me through that gauntlet?"

"Yup! I'm pretty great, right? My generosity is limitless!"

Finally, the grumpy girl laughed as they got to the bus stop, plopping down on the bench with their bags next to their feet. "Whatever. You're insane."

"Maybe. Or maybe I'm amazing and it just looks insane."

"Two sides of the same coin."

"So… I didn't wanna ask in front of 'the expert', but what was all that in the CD store? You two were off in your own little world there."

Ai's face was already flushed from being annoyed earlier, and all that power-walking. But it definitely didn't get any less rosy as she fidgeted, playing with the hem of her dress. "That's… it's stupid."

"Might be. But we're friends, we have to share stupid interests and stuff."

"You're really starting to be a pain with this 'friend' thing all the time." But Rise was patient. And eventually… "It's… something left over from my mother."

"Your mother?"

"Yes. She, um, she used to really love those old city pop singers; had so many records. Her fave was Mariya Takeuchi; just had really fond memories from her childhood, and she used to play them for me all the time."

A sinking feeling settled into the pit of her stomach. "Your mom… is she, u-um…?"

"Hm? No, she's alive. Probably." Ai looked extremely conflicted for a moment before heaving a deep sigh. "She moved out at the beginning of last year."

"Moved out? Like… a divorce?"

"Not officially. Yet. But it seems like it's going to be a matter of time." When Rise opened her mouth to reply, she was quick to cut her off. "Look. After my dad got rich overnight, I wasn't the only one who changed. We all did. But my mother seemed to resent it, even though we were all different afterward — including her hypocritical ass. Rise gave her a few seconds to finish the thought. When she didn't, she reached over with her free hand to take up Ai's in a gentle grip. That seemed to encourage her to continue.

"It's my fault. For changing too much, for no longer being the child she raised. And I got so angry with her, said a lot of things I can never take back… I drove her away. Like I tried to do to you. So you see? Might as well ditch me now before I treat you like shit one day."

As if she hadn't already. But saying that was not productive, so she focused on the subject at hand. "Hey… I don't think that's right." When the other girl began to sigh, she pushed on, "No, listen. She's your mom, right? She's the adult — her and your dad, I mean. Of course if she's telling you she doesn't like how you have changed because you're growing up, like, you're gonna get mad. She's supposed to be the one who can figure out you're just mad and you'll get over it, or whatever."

"That sounds great, but I don't think it works that way in the real world."

"Maybe not this time, but it's how it's supposed to work. So don't go around hating on yourself for something she needed to do better."

Finally seeming to realize her hand was being held, she turned to blink at her new friend, brow furrowed. "I don't… know… I guess I wasn't expecting you to be this… genuinely…"

"Awesome?" she attempted with a small smile as the bus arrived. "Pretty? Hot as hell?"

"Nice. Even to a huge bitch like me."

Once they had both paid their fare and chosen a seat in the back, Rise whispered, "Listen. We're going to have to get used to each other. But we should probably get to know each other if we really want a shot at that." She chewed on her thoughts for a moment as they rode into Inaba. "Mmmm, did you know I actually really like helping out at Marukyu?"

"Hadn't really thought about it." After a second, she relented, "Okay, I guess I thought it was just some kind of PR stunt. But don't read too much into that."

"You're fine," she giggled as she snaked her arm around Ebihara's elbow, ignoring the fresh twitch it earned her. "But yeah, it's probably weird, but I actually really enjoy frying up the ganmodoki myself. Getting my hands dirty, helping clean up, straighten up, checking on my grandma…"

Though Ai had been ramrod straight like a tin soldier ever since they linked arms, she slowly began to relax the more she listened to Rise. "Well yeah, I guess I get that. She's family and you probably missed her while you were off dazzling the world."

"The world? Please. I mean, I do have a handful of fans in Korea and China, but none any further than that. I'm not that special."

"You are. They just can't see it past the language barrier."

"Awwwww…"

"I regret everything," she grumbled. But of course, Rise was still giggling as they slipped off the bus and onto the sidewalk, a lot closer to their sleepy little city.

"Hey, can I come over and listen to my CD at your place? I don't have a CD player anymore."

"Then… why did you buy- never mind. You probably have even more disposable income than I do."

Rolling her eyes, she bumped Ai just enough so that they both stumbled the tiniest bit. "Dork! I only accepted because he was so happy to be doing us a favor. And I figured hey, I might as well pick something I wanted instead of just a couple of random CDs I didn't care about. These are souvenirs now."

"Ah yes. Souvenirs of the time you had to put up with a raging harpy."

"Wow! Like, you really only have two modes, don't you? 'Meanie' and 'Depression Fest 2012'."

But apparently, that had been the wrong thing to say. Rise was just trying to tease like she always did; it was part of her job. The more she teased, the more she played, the more fun people had. The more fun they had, the better mood they were in. The better their mood, the more likely they were to capitulate to whatever the terms were — those of her manager, or herself. And it had all worked out, because she wanted friends so badly and everyone around seemed to become her friend when she treated them that way. Even if the friendships didn't last.

But this time, it silenced Ai so completely that she found herself checking on her every few seconds as they walked along. What did she say? Had it really been that much worse than anything else so far? Eventually, she wound up stopping to pull her into a gentle hug.

"God… it's not- you don't have to do that."

"I'm sorry. You know I'm playing with you, right? Just playing! But if I'm really hurting you…"

Ai shook her head and dropped her bags so she could cling to her, burying her face in those mauve locks. "Shhh, you're fine. I… you don't have to do this. Any of it. But you're not screwing up as bad as you think you are, I'm just a bitch. Sorry for all these constant reminders."

"It's okay." Especially because Ai was so warm. This hug nearly undid all of the pain and strife they had put each other through over the course of a scant few total hours they had spent in each other's company.

And Rise didn't seem to be the only one who thought as much. Those arms tightened on her back, practically clinging to her as they soaked up each other's warmth. Why did this feel so right? They were all wrong for each other as friends, if all their bickering was any indication, yet a simple hug was like a dream come true. Ai smelled so good, expensive perfume mingling with soft skin just on the other side of that dress.

Even though the lace on Ai's choker was tickling her nose. Eventually, that made it twitch, and then she giggled as she shivered in an attempt to suppress a reaction.

"What?" Ai asked, confused.

"The lace tickled. You wear that thing all the time and I don't know why." It prompted a quiet sigh from the taller girl, so Rise skipped backward, hands in the small of her back. Maintaining a high energy level for their day might distract her from whatever demons she was battling internally. "C'mon! I'll race you to Junes!"

"Wha- hey, wait a minute, what about our bags? You don't expect me to carry all this!"

Maybe part of her motivation for taking off running and leaving Ai to carry all of their purchases was to instill a little more humility in the prissy girl. Or maybe she just wanted to do something carefree. Either way, her friend did scoop up the bags before taking off running after her.

"NOOOOO, give it back!"

"We've had enough of this weird thing!" Chie cackled as she ran away with Teddie's bear mascot head, holding it aloft while the blond boy himself chased after her. Rise leaned back in the food court chair and laughed her head off. Yes, she knew the head meant a lot more to him than just part of some costume; they all knew that, except for Ebihara. But he had been up to his usual mischief, saying he was going to "score" with Yukiko simply because she let him have some of her french fries. He obviously spent a little too much time listening to Yosuke.

"You guys are too much," Kanji sighed, face-palming as he leaned heavily against the table. But he didn't do anything to stop Chie and Yosuke throwing it back and forth, either.

"I have to say, this is a bizarre group of people to have come together," Ai commented as she sipped at her smoothie. Maybe she still wasn't ordering a ton of junk food, but she had insisted that a smoothie was really "cheating on her diet" considering that before she had met Narukami, she probably would have ordered a diet soda and no more. Their bags were stashed under their chairs until they headed home later — except for the poster. That was safely tucked beneath Yukiko's chair, once all the excessive bowing and thanking was over with, and Rise had refused to accept any money from her. She was just happy to help out her friends.

"I suppose so," Naoto conceded with a sage nod, hand at her chin as always. "From the outside looking in, it would seem strange to anyone."

"So how did you all meet, then? Bizarre multi-grade class project?"

There was definitely a pause. None of them were quite sure what excuse to come up with; only that they had to think of something to tell her that didn't involve supernatural hijinks. That would only send the average person running for the hills.

"Remember the Midnight Channel?" Yukiko began.

"Yukiko!" Kanji blustered. But she forged ahead, undeterred, and Rise felt her thighs clench beneath the tabletop. Moment of truth…

"Well, that murderer who killed Miss Yamano and the others? We knew he was somehow using the TVs to announce his next victims. Not only that, but my own kidnapping made it impossible to ignore for all of us; myself, obviously, but Chie and the others couldn't just wait for someone else to put a stop to it once our friends were becoming targets. We started investigating on our own since the police didn't seem to have any leads. And when Naoto-kun came to town and began to work with the police directly, we all sort of… found each other, thanks to that common goal."

Wow. Ai wasn't the only one dumbfounded; the others at the table found themselves impressed that she had come up with such a believable almost-truth on the spur of the moment like that.

"Th-that's amazing," Ai finally said, still blinking rapidly to try and dispel her shock. "I didn't know the rest of you were also detectives."

"Not very good ones," Rise provided with a little awkward laugh. "But all of us putting our heads together, we were finally able to figure out it was that creep Adachi. The power of teamwork!"

"Hey, you don't have to keep calling her 'Naoto-kun'," Kanji suddenly said with a slight frown at Yukiko. "We know she's a chick now, don't be disrespectful."

While Yukiko was looking regretful and beginning to bow to offer an apology, Naoto smiled and patted the tall boy on the bicep. "It's fine. In fact, I'm much more comfortable with that than I ever could be with something feminine like 'Nao-chan'. Just doesn't suit me."

Even as Rise was calling out "NAO-CHAAAAAAAAAAN" in a loud, carrying voice and throwing her arms around the stoic girl, prompting some flustered shovings, Ai was smiling across at the junior detective prince. "Naoto-kun it is. Obviously we want you to be comfortable."

Both the sentiment and the smile were so unexpected from Ai Ebihara that everyone stopped to look at her. After a second or two, she cleared her throat and went back to sipping at the dregs of her smoothie.

"Thank you, Ebihara-san," Naoto finally managed as Rise dropped back into her seat.

"Of course. See? I'm not a cunt all the time."

"Never said you were," Rise cooed as she pinched her cheek.

"HEY! Didn't I tell you to stop getting so physical with me? My face is the real money maker and so help me…"

Things only devolved from there. Kanji was apologizing profusely for presuming too much, Naoto was trying to assure him she didn't mind either, Yukiko had lapsed into another uncontrollable giggle-fit when she noticed Chie and Yosuke had started throwing Teddie himself back and forth. And Ai… was laughing and smiling. Not much; she still looked a little out of place there, not quite sure how she fit into the group of friends.

But she was starting to. Sometimes, a modicum of progress was the best you got.

N/A: Here we go. I´m tempted in making this a continuation of my Krampus au or my drabble, yet, I want to do something new here. Also, Santa here is professional but a freak in the sheet (THERE´S A NICHE WHERE SANTA FUCKS) also, would be racist if Santa attends to all holidays?

There´s an old saying, perhaps not as old as people made out to be, where it goes more or less like this- interpretations may vary and change a word or two- "love conquers all" and is the pure expression of the truth ever since Jean Grey and Scott Summers´s marriage change the course of history forever. Mutants are no longer seen as a threat and there´s no more social prejudice against mutants.

Is this heaven? Far from it. Mutants and Humans are the same sides of the coin- there´re mutants cable of doing more damage than a human can dream and of course, there´re humans that can respond to such violence with the same requiem - and Kitty Pryde is the one living this new reality among all the mutants of the second generation.

I saw the worse.

I saw the good.

And now I´m drifting meaninglessly.

Her body sludge down on the chair. Letting her foot touch the downy floor while the clock ticks and tack a loud sound- her eyes travel towards all the points in the waiting room. From the receptionist doing her work to the big closed door- and Kitty Pryde can see her reflection on the only mirror present. She was never one to put fashion above all, not even in such a situation. Wearing just a white shirt, short jeans and a yellow jacket wide open.

Then her land on the few magazines on display. Different magazines. Same story. Jean and Scott´s wedding was a fantastic story, but, sadly it has one unhappy ending. A man bursting into the church to confess his love for Jean Grey- Jubilee and Kitty was sure Logan would be the one to cause such scene- it was Prof X declaring his undying love for Jean Grey. It is still a nice gossip.

“When a father lusts over his son´s girlfriend” Kitty reads one of the main topics of the magazine. Repugnance is clear in her face and body language.

Another magazine has images of Prof X after his confession and even promised an exclusive interview with the man to explain himself. Kitty rolls her eyes at that- she reminisces when Bobby asks her to come to the wedding as his plus one. His boyfriend and he break up before the big day and Bobby didn´t want to go alone. And they only talk about Prof X and his revelation. The man was in love with a woman he raises since she was a kid- her cellphone rings softly. And has a message from her friends.

The receptionist has red hair. Too similar to her ex- Kitty meets Rachel Grey by accident. She was from a group called Excalibur. The relationship lasts a few months until Rachel and her group leave. Looking back. it was for the best-She recalls vividly an alternative version of herself who was looking at the relationship with confusion. And looking back again, Kitty can see why- and the woman is now looking at her. Was she always a red hair or is her succubus power kicking in? "Santa called...you can enter now, Miss Pryde" and the sultry smile is a tad similar to her ex. A tad bit only.

"Thanks" Kitty shurgs off and goes without looking back. If the succubus receptionist looks at Kitty going or not is her problem now.

Kitty is Jewish. She has fond memories of her Hannukahs - uncle Tim bring a new dog he rescued from families who think dogs are toys or aunt Moira and her many good whiskeys- and yet, in all her past Hannukahs there was never a period where her family thought about Santa. Not for a single second. So, of course, Kitty is looking at the real Santa right now.

The popular version of Santa is a fat man with red clothes and a big beard- Yana jokes how Santa could be communist too-and yet, the reality is far from different. Tumblr has a word for this type of Santa, but, Kitty refuses to use it. So, Kitty can summarize by saying: yep, he´s handsome.

"Ah, you must be Miss Pryde, da" his accent is a mixture of Russian and English. Somewhat similar to Yana´s accent. Kitty nods. "Excellent, I´m sorry for the waiting. We´re dealing with a problem...all taken care" and gesture to Kitty sit as the other one will be here to interview her in a minute. "Galaticus usually don´t indicate anyone to this job"

"But he puts adds on the newspaper asking for Heralds" Kitty counters back and Santa didn´t deny that.

"He does that. He even accepts Deadpool as his Herald...don´t ask me why." he shakes his head at this information. "now, tell me about you, Miss Pryde...Galaticus only told us you´re good fitting for the job"

"A job as vague as possible" she arches an eyebrow. "And I´m unemployed at the moment." she pauses and adds. "I´m Jewish"

"If you think this will be a problem or that we only work with Christians families. You´re wrong. I work on any holiday that celebrates the family and love. Any family can receive me if they so wish, I have visited some Hannukahs in my past, I was denied in some Christian families and so and on. Krampus, my friend, is not a racist or believes in ''the old ways'' in fact, he hates the old ways more than you think" Santa states calmly and speaks something in a new language to something or someone way behind Kitty.

"There´s the devil!" Satan states all joyful causing Kitty to turn her head and see the so-called Krampus. A handsome indigo man. Golden eyes. and a tail throwing a winning smile at her. "Krampus, this is Kitty. Kitty this is Krampus. You´ll be his secretary...if he agrees" and the man kissed her hand-a bit old fashioned. Kitty didn´t hide her confusion- and both are now alone to conduct the interview.

"Galaticus indicate you" his tone is joyful. Does he want Kitty to forget this is an interview? "Do you know what a Krampus is?" and Kitty closes her eyes hard and starts to mull the word for a moment.

I know I heard this name somewhere.

"Ok, I got it. You have no idea what am I" hos tone is amused and Kitty opens her eyes to see Kurt smiling like a cat. "Do you know what this job is?" and now she´s losing her patience.

"No, of course not, Galaticus comes into my room and says" Kitty pauses to mimic his voice. "Go to Santa. They have a job for you. And then he vanished. I had no idea what this job is about and no one is telling me anything. I don´t even celebrate Christmas" Kitty finishes her rants. Krampus is still too amused.

"My bad then, for starts, I deal with naughty mortals, so to speak" Kitty is listening. "Your job, if you accept, is to help me organize things. I´m terrible with names and numbers. And Santa´s elves can help me so far...of course, you´ll be compensated by your work. Here the initial idea for your salary" and Kitty is more than surprised. Is not a big number nor a smaller. It is acceptable for now. "and we´ll offer you some magic compensations to do some of the jobs. I mean, I´ll need someone to deliver messages to others deities and I know you don´t have teleportation" Krampus conclude waiting for her reply.

Kitty mulls over for 2 minutes. "Will I have to work all day and night?"

"Of course not. We all have lives. And the weekends are yours to do what you want!"

"If I give you my name..." and now Krampus chuckles.

"I´m not a regular fae. I can give you my name if it makes you feel at peace" and Kitty is surprised by this revelation. "my name is Kurt Wagner"

"I´m not sure if I´ll want to do this for a long period" Kitty begins and Kurt states that she needs to fill 6 months of work after that she´s free. "So, I´m willing to give a chance"

And with a snap of his fingers a pink fae- she calls herself pixie- shows up having in hands a contract in her hands ready for Kitty and Kurt to sign. Kitty read the contract - some laws are protecting her. As well as a law of discretion. Kitty can´t tell anyone what happens in Krampus´s working hour-and Kitty signal the contract.

"Welcome aboard, Katzchen. Hope you can survive the experience"

A bit about ee cummings: ee cummings was an american poet who lived from 1894 to 1962. He was best known for his modernist freeform poetry. He went as far as to use not only words to express the points of his poem, but punctuation, lack of, and lower case spellings. The main themes of his work are the relationship of the individual to the masses, love, and nature.

This analysis will be divided into paragraphs which dissect each verse paragraph.

Overview: Humanity I Love You is a satirical poem of the speakers relationship to the whole of humanity. Throughout the poem, Humanity is always capitalized, and i is always in the lowercase. In addition, there is no punctuation. The poem speaks of a love-hate relationship to this matter. Spoiler alert: this poem touches the most greed stricken, and self absorbed aspects of humanity, and explores that concept from the perspective of self, observation of others, and the concept of humanity as a whole. Another spoiler alert: humanity is one fake ass bitch. This is why I personally love the poem. So without further distraction, let's get into it.

Analysis:

The first verse paragraph goes right into it. The speaker is saying, humanity I love you because you would rather work blindly hard to become successful, without looking at those who you step on to get there. "Because you would rather black the boots of success than enquire who's soul dangles from his watch chain" (ll.2-4) Who cares for the soul that one stepped on to obtain this symbol of wealth, who cares the souls which are dependent on this person's decisions? This point is made from the beginning, humanity is a whole, but the individual does not care, and will try to break away from the masses, no matter who they have to throw under the bus. Let me also point out the fragmented nature of this verse paragraph, in fact, let me point out that the entirety of this poem is enjambment. There is no punctuation. The whole thing is just one run on sentance. What do you make of that? Is it perhaps a symbol of society as a whole, unable to escape itself? Perhaps it's only the speakers mind, and how it simply goes on unterminated. "Black the boots" (l.2) is a symbol for hard work, and it is cut by "of" (l.3) and then continues to "success" (l.4) this could possibly be showing the process of hard work and reward, but the reward, the success (l.4) only continues straight to "who's soul dangles" (l.4), which the speaker says they would rather not look at. And indeed, a dangling soul would be an uncomfortable thing to see! Because then this successful person might be expected to help. This is why it would be "embarrassing for both parties" (l.7)

But why you may ask? Why would it be embarrassing to help some poor dangling soul? Well my friend, this soul was put there by the successful who climbed their way to the top at the expense of this person. It's a lot like Donald trump's dad being called out by woody guthrie. It's like anything Donald Trump does. Especially when these people "unflinchingly applaud all songs containing the words country home and mother when sung at the old howard" (ll.9-12) because these things are symbols our moral values. We know what morals we should be acting out, but do we? Not if someone's soul is hanging from our watch-chain. May I also point out the contradiction in moral? Because these applauding people are in fact, the successful ones, as they are watching a performance at the Howard Athenæum in Boston. When I first read this, I thought for certain that the speaker was referring to the song Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver, but the Old Howard was closed in the 1950s, this is just another piece of evidence that cummings' reference was timeless. So why did he choose "country home and mother" (ll.10-12)? Because these are humbling symbols of equality and smallness. Country being a symbol of patriotism, of a rural area where people must work hard to live, of a humble culture of the rural society. Home is where the family is, it is where one is no better than the people the surround you, and many say, where the heart is. And mother? Mother will always love you, mother taught you your morals, she also nurtured and cared for you.

So why are these cruel wealthy people so readily applauding these symbols they obviously don't support? They "pawn their intelligence to buy a drink" (ll.14-15) They're not understanding, but is just what they're meant to do, clap like a seal. In pawning intelligence to buy a drink, it is obvious that nothing really means that much to them. It's possible that pawning one's intelligence will fix the current misery, but it will also make them have to start again, from the bottom.

But "flush pride keeps you from the pawn shop" (ll.16-17) a sudden surge of the sense of being better. Then "continually committing nuisances but more especially in your own house" (ll.18-20) which simply states that humanity is doing this to itself.

Conclusion:

The fifth, sixth, and seventh verse paragraph are the heartwood of the poem. They stand apart from the rest because it no longer speaks of material success, but instead highlights transcendental success. "You are perpetually putting the secret of life in your pants and forgetting it's there and sitting down on it" (ll.21-25). The speaker does not tell us what the secret of life is, but he does say that it's something we're always putting in our pants and forgetting about; money. Money itself in this way is symbolic, and like a coin it has two sides: greed, or generosity. These are not material concepts as money is, these are moral concepts, which lead to the end, our mortality.

Suddenly the speaker looks at themself, and their own mortality. "Because you are forever making poems in the lap of death" humanity, whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, is mortal. When we do not live forever, why do we step on each other, why do we push values we don't believe in, why do we continuously put ourself at a disadvantage, or care for money, or write poetry? This is the essence of the poem, why do we do the things that we do? Humanity is a plucky cat, unafraid, unashamed, and unconcerned. These are the things that make humanity beautiful, and also a bitch. So when the speaker writes, "Humanity i hate you." What he actually means is "Humanity i love you."

Yeah I was in discord talking about a creative intrusive thought and was advised to write it. I have a serious case of IDGAF today so.

Summary—-

Kanda hasn’t fully recovered from the 6th laboratory incident, but is slowly working through it while learning about the world Alma and him wanted to see so much. Tiedoll, Marie and him are sent to a mission on England to retrieve one piece of innocence. And in the way back Kanda encounters something new. What is his reaction to a being whose only purpose is to make you smile?

The busyness of London streets, with its chattering, mix of fragances and overall rutinal chaos, was enough to make the black haired child pop a vein.

“Can’t we really just take another road?” asked exasperated to the old man drawing the big clock tower with a worn out piece of chalk.

“Give me one more minute, Yuu-Kun. It’s your first time in London and you did a marvelous job fighting the Akuma” said the man without putting off his eyes from his drawing “Ma-kun why don’t you take him on a walk? There’s gotta be something fun to see around here. Use your golem to tell me where you are, ok? I’ll meet you there”

“Stop calling me that. Besides, I’m not really interested on that” said the kid crossing his arms. He was lying so blatantly.

“C’mon Kanda, there’s gotta be something interesting around here” Marie said

“There’s nothing”

“W-well, it has been a long time since I was in London. Before losing my sight” the kid suddenly untangled his arms in discomfort “I wonder how has the city changed while I was gone”

“Why don’t you two go on walk?” said the man not half finished with his painting of the tower, making the kid jump a little. “You could lend him your eyes for a bit, and tell him what you see. What do you think Ma-kun? Is it alright for you?

“I wouldn’t mind at all, master. How about you Kanda?”

The kid opened his mouth, but he closed it instantly, hissing a fine.

“Then let’s get going”

The big guy started walking, making the little kid trott to keep up his pace. When he was by his side again, he let out a deep sigh.

Walking by so many people talking was a nightmare for Yuu. But there were things that weren’t on the sixth lab that amused him. That he knew Alma would had liked to see too.

There was so many things he couldn’t describe to Marie, and felt a little embarrassed of not knowing something that looked so normal. That conclusion coming from the little smile Marie put after asking him: “why is that woman using the corpse of an animal on her shoulders?”

At some point, after some lame attempts to describe things, a person who was selling some kind of candy that was pinned to a wooden pole, offered them to buy the treat. Marie told him the candy was an apple covered with caramel. And without even thinking he asked what Carmel is. Marie just smiled and bought him one.

“here try it yourself.” he had told him when he handed him the treat “Its hard, so be careful with your teeth. “

He did as Marie said. It was really sweet. And hard to bite! But it was good. He tried to archive the flavor on his memory while they kept moving through the people. Secretly enjoying it. He thought that it was kinda good that Marie couldn’t see his half smiling face.

Suddenly an ovation made Kanda look in the direction of congregated people. They had reached an spacious part of the market. But it was so packed in that side that he couldn’t really see what they were admiring.

“What is it?” Asked Marie adjusting his headphones.

“I can’t tell from here, let’s try moving closer” Said the child walking in the direction of the noise.

“I’ll see if master is over with his painting” said Marie turning on his own golem.

What were the people seeing? The curiosity was killing him.

The people’s faces while looking at his acrobatic acts was good, but the boy with funny paintings in his face was more interested on the paper that was in their pockets.

The boy turned his head to the man in a clown suit that was acting not being able to go above the big bouncy ball making a wave of laughs.

The boy couldn’t help but smile along the crowd when seeing Mana’s performance.

Mana made him a signal that only the boy could understand. So when the man finally got above the bouncy ball, he had some props on his hands.

He locked eyes with the clown and thew the props at him.

It was Mana he was talking about, so naturally, he let the first throw go all down. Doing a sappy face, he signaled the boy to throw them one more time. The boy threw the props again, but all were graciously catched while the man stayed on his place.

The people loved that kinda thing.

Then Mana got down the bouncy ball and started doing some panthomimes for the little children in the front rows, making balloon animals and so on.

The public laughed a lot. And then it was time to ask for tips. The boy had to snap out of the act of his own act and run to the tree where rheir things were. He took the cup hat by the props with his right hand, and extended it to the people doing a silly act himself. The people would gladly give them some change, except one kid. That when she saw the hat, she looked so weirded out that got it him weirded out too.

The boy had noticed it was the kid that hadn´t smiled not even once during the show. It was uncommon, but he didn´t put much thought into it. But looking closely, the girl was using a black coat with some metal rose on her chest. And...was that a sword?

“Ah Yuu-Kun, he´s asking for money.” suddenly said the man with a mustache with the same black coat.  “Here, like this” said the man throwing some coins in the hat. The boy made a little bow in grattitude. “Is to thank them for their work” 

The kid looked to be around his age, so how come she didn´t know something as simple as that?

“It wasn´t even that good“ the kid said aloud with a deep voice. Apparently she wasn´t a she, but a he. The long black hair deceiving the kid with the painted face. “If that´s it we should go now, Marie” The comment kinda angering him, the boy took the hat somewhere else a little annoyed. 

The boy could hear them discuss a little while as they went away.

By the time, the people were gone and the clown finally could wash the paint off his face, the sun had set. The boy who accompanied him was sitting in a tree nearby counting the money on the hat. It wasn´t a bad day, they could afford to eat something good that night. It had been days since the last time they have had something other than some bread and water. 

“How were we today?“ asked the man smiling with his face still wet from washing on the river.

“Good enough for a good dinner“ said the kid showing him the little piece of fabric with that day´s earnings. “It could´ve been more if that kid had payed“ he sighed, his auburn hair falling on his face.

“The one who didn´t smile? It´s kinda annoying when the kids in the public don´t laugh, indeed. Oh, well, what can we do about it now“  he laughed, taking his belongings with one hand. But he spaced out for a moment “...That´s weird”.

“what?“ The kid asked standing up and grabbing his things.

“I have the feeling that I have said that to someone before. I wonder who...“ The boy was silent. “Ok, Allen. Where should we go now? It´s already dinner time. Should we go and buy the beans you were talking about?“ the man asked smiling at the kid.

“Y-Yeah. That sounds good, Mana“ the boy followed in a small voice. 

“Alright! Let´s go!“ He exclaimed taking the kid by his left hand covered with a thick glove.

Both started walking toward the usual cheap place they went to when they had enough money to spend.

But the boy was a little worried about Mana. He looked at him. Not a single worry showed in his golden eyes. He never showed any other emotion. Like a mask of happiness trying to hide intense sorrow.

“Maybe you don´t remember it was me that you said that before. But that´s ok. As long as I can stay with you, I´ll help you remember little by little.” The boy squeezed his hand caringly “I´ll remember everything for you, if you ever forget again. “

“I´m your Allen after all”.  

And both kept walking while the lights in the street started to shine.

The Originals Season 5 Episode 4: Everyone sit the fuck down

All up today. I´ll get my groove back

Mardi Gras is in town and after a 10 second happy compilation of people being happy shit goes bad.

Klaus, who is just being little bit bitter that his brother does not want to be besties, still looks for his baby momma. He takes a wolf, witch and vamp hostage to make them return Hailey. Cool cool cool. Klaus thinks she got stolen, while I still like my Hailey is the villain idea. Everyone hates Klaus. Kind of like always. He and Marcel go to some house where Hailey has been and there is blood and poison (but notice how Vinny was distracted before he could identify the blood? I´m onto something. Probably not, but let me believe. It could also be dead Henrys blood if she killed him)

The duo also gets an ear to threaten them about Hailey. Classic.

In Mystic falls Freya visits Hope and they do some bonding. They try some spells to distract Hope, who is getting a little on my nerves, Freya tells her she´s really dangerous and also the dude who sweats diamonds there. Roman is a pain. Ina love triangle he would be the one that should not get the girl. Yeah so Hopes emotions are all turnt. Real talk: Puberty is what will end Nola.

In Nola there is this whole thing where Klaus takes time to let his hostages write cursive letters and that curly headed vampire that is guilty as fuck. Seriously why do they let her walk around freely?

They question Marcel’s leadership all over the freaking place? And again they have a point. He was never around.

Vinny and the card reader, who is going to be deaaddddd, are romancing, but I don´t care about them, so move along kiddo.

Klaus is still bitter and reveals the truth about Elijah, then he kills two forgettable side characters, but not Josh, because he is my Baby and don´t you fucking my sweet summer child.

Vinny comes and goes beast mode on Klaus and Klaus deserves it tbh. He has been a dick to everyone lately. Let’s move Caroline in there permanently or Hayley because somebody needs to talk some sense into that asshole (Love you Klaus. You still a British babe)

Then Klaus is a bad influence on Marcel, who I honestly pity this season. They play Alpha and take all the daylight rings away. They are sooooo going to overthrow Marcel’s leadership. Just let Josh be boos of the vampires. He is fair and kind.

Klaus’s whole fiasco also showed that the vampires apparently have Hayley or are guilty or some shit like that. Geez you think?!

All factions including Vincent are done with Klaus and they are right. Sit down Klaus Mikaelson. Chill. Well at least my dream of a Nola civil war is coming.

At the very end they find some coin and surprise the motherfucking Nazis are involved. The fucking Nazis. Really? Bless yallls rotten hearts.

Theories and Thoughts:

So yet again we will take a look into Klaus Mikaelson past. Ok.

I already mentioned most of my theories in the Review. Marcel is so going to lose control over the vampires. Vincent will probably come around in the end.

I´m really annoyed by the card reader lady. I want her dead. I don´t like her. She is so judgy.

I predict a fight. Everyone against the Mikaelson family. I think from that a lot of heads will roll, but this ain´t Game of Thrones so probably only minor characters. Some big character death will come in the end, because we got told it was a bitter-sweet ending, so some sort of tragedy will happen.

Does anyone also love the idea of Caroline’s twins being mean girls? I love that. They are like her mom when they were young. Not so much in the show, but I read the first two books and they are not that good, so I wouldn´t recommend it.

I think they will find out where she is next episode, because this is getting boring. Klaus and Hope only have one mood lately. We will see a flashback to the 30s with Elijah and Klaus furthermore more Roman and Hope talks. This is confirmed by the promotional photos. The thing that will set Marcel at odds with Klaus will be probably that he will take the vampires side and be more for them and not Klaus, which Marcel should as a leader. I think the Antoinette thing and Hayley’s abductors could be connected, because Antoinette described them also like a cult just like Klaus did about the Nazi people.

The Best Investment to Buy – Or Is Gold Over-hyped?

There are people out there – and no small number of them – who are practically cheerleaders for gold. Whatever the problem, or the state of the economy, gold is the right investment to own.

But is that even close to reality?

Or is gold over-hyped?

I think gold is over-hyped. I’ve done an analysis here that I believe proves my point.

There seems to be a time and a place for owning gold, but there’s little evidence of the need to own it at all times, and in any significant amount.

Fear and Greed �� And Gold

When you look at the facts surrounding gold as an investment, it’s mostly a play on the emotions.

With gold, the primary emotion is fear.

Gold does have a history of performing well when financial assets sink. If you can peddle enough doom-and-gloom about the economy and the financial markets, gold is inevitably suggested as the investment of choice.

But greed is the other emotion in the equation. The implication is that everything is going to go to hell in a handbasket, but you’re going to get rich because you have a treasure trove of gold.

Invest $10,000, $20,000, or $50,000 in gold, and once The Crash finally hits, you’ll be an instant millionaire.

You won’t have to do anything else.

The country and the economy may go into a sinkhole, but you’ll be sitting high and dry on your pile of gold.

That’s a fairy tale, not an investment strategy. But it’s a fairy tale with legs, and it’s a recommendation that never seems to get old or go away.

In the interest of balance, let’s take a look at both sides of gold – the case for investing in it, and the case against it.

When you read both sides of the story, I’m sure you’ll agree that gold is over-hyped.

We’ll start with the pro position.

The Case for Investing in Gold

There are several reasons advanced in support of investing in gold.

And as much as I think gold is over-hyped, there is at least some legitimacy to some of these claims.

Gold is a “Safe Haven” Investment

Most asset classes tend to perform well in certain economic conditions, or even in most.

But any investment that’s subject to rising and falling prices is also volatile.

During times of market turbulence or crisis, they may fall in value. Certainly, stocks fall into this category, as does real estate. And even bonds can fall in value during a time of rising interest rates.

It’s during these times – when more traditional assets go into decline cycles – that investors look for safe haven assets. These are asset classes that tend to be either more stable in times of crisis, or even have the potential to rise in value.

Generally speaking, the most popular safe haven asset is US Treasury securities.

Because they’re issued by the US government, and extremely unlikely to default, investors pour money into them during times of uncertainty. In such market conditions, preservation of capital becomes the motivation, and Treasury securities are generally the best way to accomplish that.

But gold is often considered a safe haven investment as well.

It has survived as money for thousands of years and has shown the ability to at least retain purchasing power, come what may.

Gold is less popular as a safe haven because like stocks and real estate, it also has the potential to drop in value.

There have even been times when gold has declined at the same time as stocks and other assets. But gold tends to have its finest performances during times of deep crisis. We’ll get into that point more deeply as we go along.

The Very Long-term Performance of Gold has Been Solid

Gold has an undeniable staying power. As you’ll see when we get to “Gold vs. Stocks” below, it’s returned more than 6,000% in the past 100 years.

Love it or hate it, that kind of return gives gold credibility.

But what’s usually not disclosed in the same advertisements and pitches is that other assets have turned in much better performances over the same space of time.

Gold Can’t be Defaulted On

A common argument in favor of gold ownership is “gold is the only asset that isn’t simultaneously someone else’s liability”. There’s no denying that claim either.

An ounce of gold will always be worth exactly one ounce of gold. It’s just the dollar value that may change.

Most paper assets, including government securities, bonds, and bank assets represent a liability for the issuing agency.

The argument can even be made for stocks since most public companies are a mix of both assets and liabilities, and income and expenses.

Unless you purchase gold using borrowed money, there’s no liability connected to it.

Gold is an Inflation Hedge

It’s also said that 100 years ago (or thereabouts) an ounce of gold bought a good quality men’s suit. At the current price of about $1,200, that’s still true today.

But perhaps a more relevant comparison would be oil versus gold. Back in 1970, oil traded at $3.39 per barrel.

At About $35 an ounce, an ounce of gold would buy a little bit more than 10 barrels of oil.

With oil today at about $72 per barrel, an ounce of gold can buy almost 17 barrels of oil.

So on balance, the claim that gold is an inflation hedge is accurate, at least on a general basis.

Gold Thrives in a Crisis

There’s merit to this claim as well. Gold’s best performances have happened during times of widespread instability.

As we’ll see under “Gold vs. Stocks” below, gold was at its best when stocks were at their worst.

Of course, the flip side to this argument is that gold has historically performed very poorly during times of growth and prosperity.

The Best Ways to Buy and Hold Gold

If you do decide to buy and hold gold, it’s generally best to hold it in its pure form.

There are three primary ways to do this:

1. Gold Coins

The best examples are American Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins.

Both are bullion coins minted and issued by each country’s respective government. They’re also two of the most commonly traded gold bullion coins in the world.

They can be purchased through local coin shops, or well-known online gold dealers. Just make sure you investigate the integrity of whoever you’re buying the coins from.

Check with the Better Business Bureau, Yelp and other sources to see if there are any issues with the dealer or broker.

The coins typically trade at premiums of between 5% and 8% over the bullion price of gold. So, if the current bullion price is $1,200, you may pay $1,260, representing a 5% premium.

Coins come in different denominations, from one-tenth of an ounce to one ounce. It’s best to buy one-ounce coins, because the smaller denominations come with higher premiums.

2. Gold Bars

These are pure bullion bars produced by gold fabricators. They are available in sizes from one ounce to 400 ounces, and are purchased through online dealers.

They’re an excellent way to purchased larger quantities of gold, and add a smaller markup than coins.

The disadvantage is that it’s much harder to buy and sell bars than coins, especially larger ones.

3. Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)

Some gold ETFs actually hold physical gold.

Examples include SPDR Gold Trust ETF (NYSE: GLD) and iShares Gold Trust ETF (NYSE: IAU). Since they’re comprised of gold, it’s a way for investors to invest in gold without taking physical possession of the metal.

It also makes buying and selling as easy as trading stocks. You can buy and sell ETFs on popular investment brokerages for the same commission fees as stocks (in some cases for less than $5 per trade).

Now let’s shift over to the other side of the debate…

The Case Against Investing in Gold

As compelling as the above case for investing in gold might sound, there are more arguments against it. This is why I believe gold is over-hyped.

Gold is Not an “All-weather” Investment

While gold has definitely gone through stretches, including entire decades, where it’s been one of the best-performing assets, it certainly doesn’t perform well in all markets.

In fact, it may go through a few years when it outperforms most other asset classes, but then goes flat or declines for the next 15-20 years.

That even seems to be the normal pattern.

Let’s start with this…

Gold is not an investment in income earning business activities. The main issue here is that gold is a thing, not an enterprise. While other financial assets, like stocks and real estate, can generate income, gold produces no revenue whatsoever. Even bonds and bank investments can turn into revenue generating activities when the funds are used to create or expand a business venture or income generating activity.

There are a few other things gold doesn’t and can’t do:

Create useful products and services.

Innovate new products and services.

Generate tax revenues.

Employ workers.

Improve the environment.

Make charitable contributions.

Create a demand for land, buildings, equipment and business services.

In other words, gold is completely inert – or better put – it’s economically neutral.

If you buried it in the backyard it would have no less impact than if you kept it in a safe in your bedroom. Though it does have a certain value, determined by market factors of the time, it doesn’t move society forward in any way.

In that way, it compares more to cash than to actual investments.

Gold Isn’t an Exact Inflation Hedge

Gold has done a good job of keeping up with inflation generally. But what it hasn’t done is track inflation mathematically!

That’s the dirty little secret about gold that you won’t hear from gold promoters. They often cite the performance of gold during the high inflation years of the 1970s. And the facts certainly support that claim.

But gold has not done nearly as well during times of low levels of inflation. Those are actually much more common than times of high inflation. In fact, since World War ll, the 1970s we’re the only time of relatively high inflation. In the other decades before and since, inflation has generally remained well below 5% per year. Gold doesn’t react nearly as well to that kind of low-level inflation, as it does with the more dramatic variety.

For example, it cost about $1,156 in 2018 to buy what $1,000 would have purchased in 2010. It means inflation has risen by 15.6% in the past eight years. But during that same eight years, the price of gold has remained relatively flat, and even declining a bit.

In real purchasing power then, gold has declined in the face of a mild level of inflation.

Whenever you hear or read of gold being promoted, this is a side of the inflation story that doesn’t get discussed.

Quite the opposite in fact – gold promoters promise that not just inflation, but hyperinflation is just around the corner. They’ll even point to real world examples, like:

The 1970s in the US.

Germany’s hyper-inflation between the two world wars.

Current examples, like what’s happening in Venezuela right now.

In a way that should make us all suspicious, gold promoters seem to need inflation to make the whole strategy work.

Gold Pays No Interest or Dividends

Remember earlier when I wrote that gold isn’t an investment in income earning business activities? Since gold generates no income, it doesn’t pay interest or dividends to the owner.

Gold advocates may argue this doesn’t matter. After all, the main purpose in owning gold is for the explosion that’s bound to happen when the next Big Crisis hits.

But if you’re a long-term investor, you need to invest in assets that will provide a combination of growth and income. Simply buying an investment because you believe it will go up in price isn’t investing – it’s really speculating. That’s most of what gold is all about.

But since we already know that gold is not a growth type asset, the need to receive some type of income for owning it should seem obvious.

After all, during those stretches when gold isn’t rising in price – which can sometimes go on for decades – the absence of interest or dividends is an obvious disadvantage.

The gold price has been flat since 2010. But let’s say rather than investing $10,000 in gold back in 2010, you instead put the money into a CD paying “only” 2% per year. Eight years later, the CD would be worth $11,717. But the gold investment would still be worth just $10,000.

Can you see why interest and dividend income matters? But you won’t get either with gold.

Central Banks can Crush the Gold Price by Selling Their Reserves

According to the World Gold Council there’s about 190,000 tons of gold in existence in the world in all forms, or just over 6 billion ounces. More than 32,000 tons, or nearly a billion ounces are owned by the “official sector”. That’s mostly the central banks of the world.

Here’s the problem with that arrangement from an investment standpoint: since central banks own so much of the world’s gold, they can crush the price by selling relatively small amounts. In fact, just an announcement by a central bank of its intention sell even a modest quantity of gold can cause the price to fall.

For example, in 1999 the Bank of England announced its intention to sell about 10 million ounces of gold (just over 300 tons). Within two-and-a-half months of the announcement of the sale, the price of gold fell from $282 to $252, a decline of more than 10%.

That was a staggering decline based on the sale of just 1% of the world’s central bank gold holdings.

With government budgets and debts being in the trillions of dollars, and close to a billion ounces of gold sitting in central bank vaults earning no interest, the possibility of future government gold sales can never be ignored.

Not all Gold is Investment Quality

One of the complications with investing in gold is answering the question, what exactly is gold?

It shouldn’t be such a complicated question, but it gets that way because gold promoters have different versions of what they consider gold to be.

They often promote products related to gold, that aren’t necessarily gold strictly speaking. But they do it because it generates higher revenue for them.

The problem with these gold knock-offs is they’re the ideal way to own the metal. By buying gold in any of these forms, you increase your risk, without necessarily improving your chances of a big payoff.

Watch out for these alternate forms of gold:

Numismatic Coins

These are coins that trade at premiums over the bullion value of the gold content. For example, a one-ounce coin, containing $1,200 worth of gold bullion, could sell for $4,000. This premium owes to the rarity of the coin itself, and not strictly to the bullion value.

These coins trade at such premiums because there may be very few in circulation. Referred to as numismatic coins, they’re commonly pre-1933 US minted gold coins. 1933 is significant because then president Franklin D. Roosevelt issued executive order 6102 making it illegal for American citizens to own gold.

As a result, the US Government stopped minting common circulation gold coins, and recalled millions of them. That’s created a shortage of pre-1933 coins, and turned them into numismatics.

The problem with buying numismatics is in the price grading. Coins are graded based on their mint state, which is the rarity and purity of a coin according to rating agencies. The higher the mint state, the more valuable the coin.

For example, a coin in mint state 61 (MS61) will be considered semi-numismatic, and command only a small premium over the bullion value. A coin graded as MS65 is much more valuable and will sell at several times the coin’s bullion value.

The problem is that mint state can be subjective. A common situation is where the investor buys a coin graded as MS65 from one dealer, but sells it to another dealer a couple of years later, who judges it to be MS63. The lower grading will make the coin worth thousands of dollars less.

Numismatics have been hawked as investment coins for decades, but they’re really just speculations. They tend to rise in value most during the most extremely bullish gold markets, but even to crash afterwards.

Commemorative Coins

The case for commemorative coins as an investment is even weaker than the one for numismatics.

While numismatic coins do have historic value, due to their rarity, even their consideration as art work, commemorative coins are just gold bullion coins imprinted to commemorate a certain person or event.

You’ll typically see these coins advertised on TV, which should be a warning sign to steer clear by itself. What’s more, they are often minted by non-governmental agencies. For example, a private company may introduce a line of commemorative gold coins representing a deceased celebrity, or even an event like 9-11. But in theory at least, there is no limit on the number of these coins that can be minted.

Since they won’t be rare, they are very unlikely to command premium prices in the future.

Furthermore, many commemorative coins only gold plated. It’s a coin made of cupronickel – which is virtually worthless – and inlaid with gold. To the untrained investor, they can seem like investing in real gold. But to an experience gold investor, they’re close to worthless. You could be paying $100 for a coin that a real investor won’t pay $10 for.

Gold with High Price Mark-ups

One of the complications with buying gold as a small investor is that there are no regulated central exchanges where you can trade.

Most gold coins are purchased through small, independent gold dealers. Many don’t even deal exclusively in gold bullion coins, but primarily sell numismatics, commemoratives, and perhaps even guns or antiques.

Buying gold coins takes place in a very decentralized environment. This can lead to wide variations in what you will pay for gold bullion coins.

The normal premium on gold bullion coins is between 5% and 8% of the bullion value of the coin itself. For example, with a gold bullion priced of $1,200 per ounce, a 5% markup would make the price of a one-once coin $1,260. That’s a reasonable premium.

But there are dealers who will take advantage of unsuspecting buyers. They may charge a 15% markup, in which case you will pay $1,380 for a coin with the bullion value of $1,200. The premium will be $180 over the bullion value.

It’s like buying an investment that loses money immediately upon purchase.

Gold Stocks and Gold Stock Mutual Funds

People who are interested in holding gold often do it by purchasing either gold stocks or gold stock mutual funds.

The advantage is that they’re paper investments that can be easily held in a portfolio, the same way you might include stocks, mutual funds, and ETF’s.

The limitation however is that gold stocks and gold stock mutual funds are not the same is investing in gold bullion itself.

They don’t represent gold, but rather stock of companies that mine gold. That’s completely different from the metal itself, and they also tend to be far more price volatile than the underlying metal.

Better put, gold stocks are more stocks than they are gold. They can be based more on the profitability of the gold mining company than on the price of gold itself. They’re also subject to the stresses of running any business. This includes credit crunches, labor problems, environmental disasters, and bad management. And since much of the world’s gold mining takes place in remote third world countries, they’re also subject to political disturbances and even warfare.

As an example, a war might cause the price of gold to rise. But if that same war is taking place in a country where a gold mining company has significant operations, the value of its stock could crash.

Gold ETFs that Don’t Own any Gold

Some ETFs don’t actually own physical gold, or it represents only a minority of their holdings. Instead, they track the price of gold stocks, or engage in trading gold futures contacts. Either practice makes them either:

A) very risky, and/or B) not a pure play on gold bullion itself.

In some cases, the value of the fund could fall even though the price of gold rises. If you want to invest in actual gold, these funds are best avoided.

Gold vs. Stocks

When it comes to investment returns, you can’t argue with the numbers.

So let’s take a look at the price performance of gold and the S&P 500 for the past 100 years, as well as shorter time frames. We’ll even include the price performance of both during times of crisis.

100-year performance – 1918 to 2018:

Gold, price in 1918, $18.99, price in 2018, roughly $1,200 – increase +6,316%.

S&P 500 in 1918, 7.51, level in 2018, roughly 2,900 – increase +38,615%.

Takeaway: The 100-year performance of both gold and stock favors stocks, and by a ridiculously wide margin.

The Crash of 1929, The Great Depression & World War II: 1929 to 1945:

Gold, price in 1929, $20.63, price in 1945, roughly $34.71 – increase +68.3%.

S&P 500 in 1929, 28.49, level in 1945, roughly 14.78 – a decrease of 48.1%.

Takeaway: During the crisis years between 1929 and 1945, gold easily outperformed stocks, and by a very wide margin.

The Post World War ll Prosperity: 1945 to 1970:

Gold, price in 1945, $34.71, price in 1970, roughly $36.02 – increase +3.8%.

S&P 500 in 1945, 28.49, level in 1970, roughly 75.72 – increase of +265.7%.

Takeaway: During the 25 years of peace, prosperity, and growth after World War ll, stocks turned in a solid performance, while gold languished.

Inflation, Vietnam & Watergate: 1970 to 1980:

Gold, price in 1970, $36.05, price in 1980, roughly $615 – increase +1700.6%.

S&P 500 in 1970, 75.72, level in 1980, roughly 119.8 – increase of +58.2%.

Takeaway: During the tumultuous 1970s, gold left stocks in the dust. And even though stocks did produce a positive return in a difficult decade, they failed to keep up with inflation. According to statistics by the Federal Reserve the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased from 38.8 in 1970 to 82.4 in 1980, an increase of 212%. With a return of just 58%, stocks turned in a seriously negative performance for the decade.

Prosperity & stability return: 1980 to 2000:

Gold, price in 1980, $615, price in 2000, roughly $279 – a decrease of 54.6%.

S&P 500 in 1980, 119.8, level in 2000, roughly 1,473 – increase of +1,230%.

Takeaway: Prosperity and stability are no friends of gold. During these two decades, gold crashed while stocks went out in orbit.

The Dot-com Bust and the Financial Meltdown: 2000 to 2010:

Gold, price in 2000, $279, price in 2010, roughly $1,224 – an increase of +439%.

S&P 500 in 2000, 1,473, level in 2010, roughly 1,080 – decrease of 26.7%.

Takeaway: In yet another decade marked by turmoil and economic decline, gold turned in a very strong performance, while stocks turned in a solid loss. The numbers presented above don’t tell the entire story, because the S&P 500 actually hit bottom in 2009, while gold hit its all-time peak in 2011. But the point for the decade is clear.

Prosperity returns: 2010 to the Present:

Gold, price in 2010, $1,224, price in 2018, roughly $1,200 – decrease of 2%.

S&P 500 in 2010, 1,080, level in 2018, roughly 2,900 – increase of +268.5%.

Takeaway: In the Absence of turbulence, and in an environment of both low inflation and low-interest rates, stocks have turned an impressive performance in the past 8 years, while gold has flatlined.

Gold vs. Stocks – Analyzing Historic Performance

In analyzing the performance of both stocks and gold, the following points emerge:

1. Stocks outperformed gold over the very long-term. We see that stocks have outperformed gold by a factor of roughly 6:1 over the past 100 years. That doesn’t even account for the dividends paid on stocks, but only the actual price level of the S&P 500 for each given year.

Of course, none of us have an investment time horizon of 100 years. But the long-term trends are what matter most when it comes to investing.

2. Gold has outperformed stocks only the times in the past century. We see gold coming out on top only in 1929 to 1945, 1970 to 1980, and 2000 to 2010. That represents a total of just 36 out of the past 100 years. Stocks have dominated in all of the other time frames, and not just by a little.

We can summarize both outcomes by concluding that stocks love stability and prosperity, while gold loses value. By contrast, gold loves crisis and instability, but can’t stand prosperity. Since prosperous times run about twice as long as times of crisis, stocks are by far the better long-term play.

Should You Invest in Gold – Or is it a Waste of Time?

I’ve spent a lot of time writing and researching this article, but it’s not because I have anything personal against gold.

What does concern me however, is that people are buying into the hype, and investing large amounts of their hard-earned money into an asset class that goes absolutely nowhere most of the time.

My primary concern, as a financial blogger and financial planner, is to recommend ways for people to grow their wealth. At best, gold is something of a wealth preservation asset. But it is not a growth asset, and will not materially increase your wealth over the long term.

An argument can be made to hold a very small amount of your portfolio in gold – but maybe no more than 5%. That may provide you some protection for your portfolio in the event of another crisis decade, like the 1970s or the early 2000s.

But since stability and prosperity are much more common than times of crisis, your gold investment will mostly sit around and collect dust.

It’s a complete waste of investment money to put a large bet on what is most typically a stagnant asset. While gold is busy running in place, or even declining in value, you’re losing the opportunity to make money in growth type assets, like stocks, and stock mutual funds and ETF’s.

Buy gold if you feel you must, but keep the percentage very low.

And stay with the more basic types of gold, like gold bullion coins and bars, or ETF’s that actually invest primarily in gold bullion.

You’ll do a better job of preserving your capital if you avoid the alternative forms, like numismatic coins and gold mining stocks.

Then make sure most of your portfolio is invested where it should be – in assets that generate income and growth.

N/A: This is the last chapter, no, there´s one last but I can count that one as epilogue so in a sense, this is the last one.

Cheating is not exactly a novel concept and New Gotham has its fair share of cheating- as much in the love department as in every other section of life- even Felicia Hardy was cheated by an ex-lover before joining into the masked club of New Gotham-a case that makes her laugh as she´s the wife of a billionaire and is living more than well- but the point remains, everyone was cheated in New Gotham at some point, nonetheless, only MJ took such drastic changes once it happened to her.

In a way, MJ thought to flip the coin with a coy smile, this is all thanks to Columbina...what if my ex decided to sleep with another woman instead of Kitty? Would I have been here today?

The most likely scenario would have been a divorce and heartbreaking-she knows still a very good lawyer-but, the thing of what-ifs -all its beauty and ugliness aside- no matter what she conjures in her mind, she still has to face with reality.

"MJ" the woman stop flipping the coin and press the comcon to communicate freely- no one in New Gotham would bat an eye if she starts talking seemingly to no one, but, she´s a good actress and like to be prepared to every ridiculous situation-and take her cellphone, already turn off, to pretend to speak with. "You´re getting like a stalker, little boy" MJ teased and her eyes flick to the nearest skyscraper with a smug on her pretty face.

"MJ. I´m not a stalker" SpiderBoy states still nervous and she can sense the tone in his voice and can even imagine his expression. "I´m not a fan of this plan...I would prefer if we used Columbina for this...she´s the one with experience with creepy things" there´s a hint of malice here and MJ bites her inner cheek for a moment and let's go as she starts walking.

"Well, tiger...the thing is...I offer myself to the job, and what you think or approve doesn´t really matter right now. My last husband...always tried to control me in some way, MJ doesn´t do this...don´t wear that" she pauses to exhales. "Wanna know how this story ends?"

"You found someone much better? I know a guy who works in the News Gotham who has a thing for red hairs his name starts with Peter.." SpiderBoy jokes and MJ chuckles at that and even if he couldn´t see- no, he can see her just fine. She knows it and for the time being, won't see this as creepy, only for tonight. She wonders about his powers that sometimes are too based on spiders and not based on spiders at the same time.

"No, tiger...he cheated on me. The woman found out he was married warm me and together we take him down" and MJ adds softly. "that woman is Columbina"

"Don´t you hate her?"

"At first...a little, but, my anger and the blame is direct only to my ex. So, when I say I chose to do this, tiger, you listen and offer me support and not criticism or nagging, got it?"

"Yes, madam!"

Dark Claw prior to delivering the coin to MJ was sure the said coin was magic or has some eccentricity about it-yet, the coin has no SCP´s abilities and nothing magical of the sort, just a regular coin that is held with affection by a new killer- and now watches on his screen- installed on his batmobile- as MJ is doing her round and tossing the coin in the air and doing all she can to show the object.

"So, this is the batmobile? Cool, can I drive next time?" Columbina asked looking around -Sparrow is not present as she´s leading the Young Blood, Polaris is helping in some mission regards T.I but still considers herself a neutral part- and Dark Claw only groans as his answer is curt as possible. "No, only I drive the batmobile and ...I saw how you drive, that´s a big no"

"Would be amazed if I told you Ryder said the same thing?"

"How long you knew he is Nightcreeper?"

"For a long while. I like to troll him here and there...he has no idea who am I, right?"

"He has a theory that you´re either a fae" Columbina chuckles at that and Dark Claw offers a ghost of a smile. "and another theory is that you´re trickest who never tells the truth about its origin"

Columbina blinks at this. Her eyes are owlish and she even takes off her cowl. "Is he always superstitious?"

"Always! but I think knowing the SCP allows some justification to his fears"

Nightcreeper is fully changed now. Watching MJ on the other side - SpiderBoy is very obvious about his feelings towards MJ and Nightcreeper is many, many things, but, not a hypocrite so he´ll not mention this or rather, he doesn´t have the mind to mention- his golden eyes inspect the surrounders as he´s jumping from roof to roof, to gothic structure to another and while giving off a very annoying and dangerous laugh.

The type that makes SpiderBoy want to shoot a web into his mouth- and Nightcreeper came up with several dirty jokes about such idea- the man is still somewhat sane-a a bit debatable- to spot a man with a scarred face approaching MJ with clearly bad intentions.

So bad intentions even a lunatic as Nightcreeper can see it.

"Spidey...our guest arrives," Nightcreeper said and didn´t wait to see his reaction or the others as Nightcreeper is contacting Columbina. "Scarface is here...Columbina"

Her voice is soothing- the situation is not warrant something soothing, but, Nightcreeper needs to say, at least in his own mind, how her voice is firm, yet, peaceful...so similar to a certain someone- "Got it, Kurt stay out, for now, keep watching"

"Sounds kinky...wait, what did you call me?" he asked and Columbina passed the conversation to Dark Claw who is giving the instructions.

Two-Face is pissed, maybe even more than in his nights of cleaning the city, and his movements are erratic and unhinged as humanly possible until he spots MJ tossing his coin- there´s no doubt this was his coin, what better coin to flip than his own?- and all the man can see is red. Literally in this case.

"You stole my coin?" he gets a knife- MJ is more than happy, guns are hard to deflect and not her specialty, but, knives? Oh, she knows how to deal it-"give me back or die?"

"What good killer would I be...without my coin? I need it to clean the city" and the conversation is deemed over as Two-Face is charging at MJ, however, knives are her thing and she managed to dodge and with few good moves and hits manages to get rid of his knife.

Two-Face now draws a gun. And now Nightcreeper and SpiderBoy show up and the fight begins. Columbina arrives as well and it wasn´t needed to protect MJ at well.

Columbina asked and her eyes meet with the insane pair of golden eyes of Nightcreeper. "So, Ryder was right this whole time?" SpiderBoy scoff and says is nothing but a mere lucky guess.

Kymri and Mara are displeased by Kitty´s presence. The healer is way popular and beloved by their Kurt and nothing, absolutely. Wearing revealing outfit does nothing (but Kurt notices when Kitty is wearing a yellow dress) and is infuriating.

Mara´s parents are the king and queen of a dying country, their incompetence and ineptitude lead the country to bankrupt and The Necromancer may as well be their last hope.

Mara´s parents are counting on Mara to marry the necromancer to gain political favours. And she failed them, more important, she failed herself.

Kymri is in no better state as she desires to be Mrs Necromancer with all her heart, but, once Kurt and Kymri did the devil´s tango, the man did lose interested in her.

Kymri´s country is a forever mass of land that is either forget or conquered to gain more land. If Kurt married Kymri ...now, that would change.

Kitty, on the other hand, is his favourite. A mere healer that has no real royal blood in her veins(she´s immortal, but, even so, that´s not impressive) shouldn´t be that enticing to Kurt, yet, Kitty is often receiving gifts from him.

The man is even teaching her a few defensives spells. This wasn´t a courtesy extended to Kymri and Mara.

If she wants something she can get by herself, no need to have a patron. But this is not about Kitty. Is about the temple.

"So, the temple needs help?" Kurt asked in such blase way that if Kitty didn´t really know him she would think he does not care.

Kitty puts her hand on Kurt´s shoulder thanking him. Gently her hands are on his face as a tender and grateful smile appears. The shiver is over.

"Trying to manipulate Katzchen to do your bidding? bad boy indeed, and very dumb, Katzchen hardly cares for politicians, she´s one of those good souls that want to help the others...like Magda" Kurt replied and Magneto feel like Kurt punched him hard "that was a sweet little girl who wanted to be a healer...what happened to her again?"

"Stop!" Magneto speaks in a croaked tone.

"As you wish, you´ll do me a great favour, do you know the princess of Wyr?" Kurt asked and Magneto nods, Lorna mentioned Kymri once and while "I did kill her and you´ll assume the blame"

"What?"

"Make the excuse you want, Wyr owns money to Genosha? Kymri offended the honour of Lorna? Anything, just said it was you" the last part was added in a macabre way "and in exchange and I won´t do what I did to her, make me repeat what I just said and I´ll do worse"
