I have a funny story that can potentially be a fic prompt for a hospital romcom.
Basically I’m close to the end of my Trauma rotation with the Orthopaedics. I ended up being paired with this guy, attending the 4th year not officially in my uni/hospital but only for a 1 year stay. Anyway we had a lot of shifts together and I think I was being oblivious but it is possible he is crushing over me.
Let me tell you what happened so you get why I think so.
At the beginning of the week, I planned my shifts in order to have one 12 shift on Thursday and stay at home on Friday. He wasn’t feeling it lmao and started begging me to be here on Friday to.
On Thursday, he got this pen. I tested it and I liked it. It was soft and blue, so I asked if I could have it. He said no. But later he begged me again “please, you can’t leave me alone with him [the senior doctor in the ER], you know why [we dont like how he works].
I was like “why would I spend the friday afternoon, possibly night, with you in this ambulatory? You don’t even give me a pen!”
And he said “you can have it…”
*i take the pen and put it in my white coat pocket*
“…If you come here on Friday” and he takes the pen back from my pocket! I gasped, affronted.
I said “FINE.” But only because it was more of a pride thing. I’ll get the fucking pen.
So on Friday, I enter the room and greet him, asked how the morning went. He was typing on the keyboard and didn’t even mind me but then he calls me.
“Angie”
“Mh”, mind you I was on my phone, scrolling Louis pic and his new hair.
And he throws the pen at me.
After that we got an emergency, we managed it fine. He was dealing with a huge wound on the leg with bone exposure and all, I was trying to stabilise the patient with a bit of morphine, a vein access and then I put on my sterile gloves to give the wound some stitches and we did it just fine. The other guys (not really nurses but sort of) put on the antibiotics we prescribed and then removed it when it was finished and forgot to close the access so the patient was bleeding and staining the sheets.
They got mad at me (????) because I didn’t close the access. I felt mortified because I didn’t realise and thought I really forgot. He saw I was upset and as the guys where blaming me, he kinda took it easy saying “cmon she did all the rest by herself, easy on her, she’s great” (i even brought in 5L of water for the wound).
I was furious. F U R I O U S.
He read the room and let it go. Then he approached me again when we were alone. I was like “listen, I didn’t do that. They forgot it open, not me.”
He said “I know, are you still mad” YEAH?????? “Cmon I’ll let you fix the dislocation then”
:))))))

I met a girl when I was fresh out of high school in undergrad who frankly, annoyed me quite a bit, but I also had an inkling to continue to be compassionate to her given a few things about her life/background/family
I ran into her two years ago. Last week, her daughter turned 1. This girl, let’s called her “P”, is a really good example of why I never feel comfortable mocking trad wives
Her perfect trad husband, who was a shining young figure in the local religious community, volunteered in all sorts of groups, well loved in his workplace and everything else, beat her up at 1 month post-partum. I reached out to her after seeing her desperately asking for a stroller on a page, confused and slightly concerned knowing both of them came from wealthy backgrounds.
The reality for lots of tradwives living “perfect lives” is this: P was immediately ostracised. All the wealth of her husband and her family meant absolutely nothing if she wasn’t in favour and doing what she was told. Her child and her well-being didn’t matter. P, at 25 years old, was basically deemed an oopsie, and left on her own to figure out how to pay for herself, a baby, find housing, and every other task you can think of.
Having known many of these women (and supported many of these women), another factor most people don’t consider is this: they are intentionally raised to be helpless. When I immediately offered my support to P, she really needed it. This young woman needed to be guided through how to apply for government assistance, how to weigh up rentals and apply for them, how to apply for jobs, how to sign up for childcare. How to sign up for your own power and internet, and how to connect them.
It wasn’t that she was “stupid”, or incapable, or spoiled. While it looks like they’re being sheltered, in reality, these women are practically being held hostage. Sure, they might be allowed to learn things that are expected of them (see: basic cooking, baking, cleaning, child rearing, women’s bible studies, hosting, and so forth) but they are heavily controlled from family life into marriage life, and they are never given the opportunity or the reality of what many of us would consider basic adult tasks.
She’s doing okay now. Her daughter turned 1, is happy and healthy. They live frugally, but they have a roof over their heads and the essentials. I often babysit for her so she can attend counselling, or go to a woman’s support group. She is painfully aware that she has so much to learn about how to live as an adult.
I don’t envy tradwives, but I don’t find any joy in mocking them either. Even when they live the most picturesque lives, they’re also practically living a real life Jenga game. If (and often, when) it comes tumbling down, they’re screwed too, and they often have 0 skills to help themselves or find community (that again, isn’t carefully curated).

as newspapers today dont tend to hire children, a modern day Tintin would run a clickbait YouTube channel, except the clickbait is 100% real every single time
he starts off as an irritating conservative pundit at 14, meets Chang then leaves the think tank paying him and launches his own independent channel and blows up shortly after. Chang helps with video editing and managing his socials and they often chat on video calls between adventures. Haddock, his foster dad, has absolutely no knowledge of his earlier videos.

I was thinking about Conkeldurr recently like "man I know people think this Pokémon is creepy but I actually think he's kind'a neat and it sucks that he's a trade evo..."
And then that transformed into "Actually I LOVE Conkeldurr he looks wicked tough yet also wise and I think more people should give this Pokémon a chance"
And then THAT transformed into "Conkeldurr is a tough as nails gentle giant that has a tiny sad Zorua daughter that he loves very much and he carries her around on his back and he loves his tiny daughter and if you so much as look at his sweet tiny daughter he will actually punch you into last week also did I mention that this Zorua is his tiny special daughter that he loves very much-"

Fat people deserve mobility aids, too. No matter if it's connected to their fatness or not, because having a mobility issue that is connected to one's fatness won't change that they're still fat and still have the issue at hand. Fat people don't deserve to "tough it out" because fatness should be this divine punishment doled out to those who "deserve" it. Fat disabled people deserve to have the peace of mind that they can exist in whatever way is most comfortable and accessible to them

beo idk where i saw or read this but can you imagine a yandere! husband who would actually go insane if you left/escaped him?
like, actually insane. I'm not talking "ohhh my spouse left me :((( im gonna find them grrr" type of insane.
im talking like mental breakdowns, crying, screaming, actually getting ill, throwing fits and acting like a sick and deranged man because you're not with him anymore.
he's a rich guy, comes from an old money family. so obviously his parents and family all see the state that he's reduced to after his beloved darling left his grasp. and they absolutely hate the way that their son is so miserable right now. that's their son! and how could they let their son suffer? just how can they help?
so they find you on his behalf and bring you back to him.
like, they're sorry you're back here against your will but their son's condition is more important! don't you see? he loves you and you're just... just neglecting him! a good spouse wouldn't do that. you have to be with him. no questions asked.
upon spotting you, their son (who was literally clawing at his arms, nails all bloody) immediately switches moods and perks up. he's no longer the insane man he was just 5 seconds ago. now he's your loving and sweet husband.
his family all sees that, especially his parents, and they make a vow to make sure you never leave him again. i mean, they like you too! you're perfect for their son! why would you ever want to leave? you don't need to leave.
just stay here with them. stay with your husband. after all, he clearly needs you. and what type of spouse would you be if you left him again?

boy it would be nice to be able to google something related to personality disorders, psychosis, intellectual disabilities, autism, DID/OSDD, etcetera without finding majority articles that are like “how to deal with a person with X” “how to cope with your child with X” “how to spot someone faking X” “can people with X be cured?”
