As people know I've an account on Inkbunny, have been for years. In the past there was one user who ordered commissions from me. I agreed to do one commission more for them with low price when they asked it. After some time, however, I made new commission price post on my InkBunny and this person, literally, exploded at me!
They used horrible words, verbal abuse etc. and then just went and blocked me without giving me a chance to explain myself to them. To tell them I WOULD HAVE done their commission with my original cheap prices because I had agreed on doing it BEFORE I changed my prices.
This and their shitty behavior has been hurting like shit and I've been crying over the years whenever I've remember this case. Even now. Because I am SENSITIVE person. So, today, I made second Inkbunny account just to reach them via PM (I deleted this account since I wasn't going to keep it, anyway).
I told them who I am and told what happened all those years ago, how their behavior and words hurt me and made me feel like shit, still do, how they didn't give me a chance to explain myself to them and that I would have done their commission with my original cheap prices because they asked it before I changed my prices.
Sure, they sent me PM back but I didn't open it. Instead I went to their page, noticing they had instantly block this second account of mine as well. Just shows how deep their head in their ass is. No any common sense, understanding, compromising, normal talking and wanting to solve this out etc. Just HATE towards me - which I STILL don't understand! THEY decided to pull a cucumber in their nose and ass after THEY started to assume things about me which were not true (that I would charge more from them) etc. They really haven't grow up and mature at all in these years. I honestly would understand that reaction 100% IF I WOULD HAVE asked them to pay me MORE which I never didn't!
I didn't open their PM. Just deleted it and deleted my second InkBunny account too since I don't really need two. I know there wouldn't have been even ONE nice or positive word for sure. That person is just... bad and full of anger and hate. And, trust me, I wouldn't be saying ANY OF THIS IF I hadn't seen and experienced it myself personally! I don't go with "I assume" or "I've heard rumors about this person". I always go with the experiences I have had with the said person.
To be honest, when I saw this person's icon for the first time on Inkbunny all those years ago... I instantly got this horrible feeling in my stomach. My intuition back then already was right about this person - still is since I still get this sickening feeling when seeing their avatar. They are not a good person.
As long as you lick their ass and do exactly as they want you to do, no issues. One slip (may it be only ONE misunderstanding / supposition like in my case from their part) and they gut you and bury you alive with so much hatred.
While this all still sucks and hurts more or less, one way or another even after me contacting them today and telling them my point of view and truth, I am HELL HAPPY that horrible person is NOT in my life. I don't need or want such persons in my life.
I managed to tell them my point of view which was my goal all along all these years - and now it's done. I feel better since I've spoken my truth.

How lock-in hurts design
Tumblr media
Berliners: Otherland has added a second date (Jan 28) for my book-talk after the first one sold out - book now!
Tumblr media
If you've ever read about design, you've probably encountered the idea of "paving the desire path." A "desire path" is an erosion path created by people departing from the official walkway and taking their own route. The story goes that smart campus planners don't fight the desire paths laid down by students; they pave them, formalizing the route that their constituents have voted for with their feet.
Desire paths aren't always great (Wikipedia notes that "desire paths sometimes cut through sensitive habitats and exclusion zones, threatening wildlife and park security"), but in the context of design, a desire path is a way that users communicate with designers, creating a feedback loop between those two groups. The designers make a product, the users use it in ways that surprise the designer, and the designer integrates all that into a new revision of the product.
This method is widely heralded as a means of "co-innovating" between users and companies. Designers who practice the method are lauded for their humility, their willingness to learn from their users. Tech history is strewn with examples of successful paved desire-paths.
Take John Deere. While today the company is notorious for its war on its customers (via its opposition to right to repair), Deere was once a leader in co-innovation, dispatching roving field engineers to visit farms and learn how farmers had modified their tractors. The best of these modifications would then be worked into the next round of tractor designs, in a virtuous cycle:
https://securityledger.com/2019/03/opinion-my-grandfathers-john-deere-would-support-our-right-to-repair/
But this pattern is even more pronounced in the digital world, because it's much easier to update a digital service than it is to update all the tractors in the field, especially if that service is cloud-based, meaning you can modify the back-end everyone is instantly updated. The most celebrated example of this co-creation is Twitter, whose users created a host of its core features.
Retweets, for example, were a user creation. Users who saw something they liked on the service would type "RT" and paste the text and the link into a new tweet composition window. Same for quote-tweets: users copied the URL for a tweet and pasted it in below their own commentary. Twitter designers observed this user innovation and formalized it, turning it into part of Twitter's core feature-set.
Companies are obsessed with discovering digital desire paths. They pay fortunes for analytics software to produce maps of how their users interact with their services, run focus groups, even embed sneaky screen-recording software into their web-pages:
https://www.wired.com/story/the-dark-side-of-replay-sessions-that-record-your-every-move-online/
This relentless surveillance of users is pursued in the name of making things better for them: let us spy on you and we'll figure out where your pain-points and friction are coming from, and remove those. We all win!
But this impulse is a world apart from the humility and respect implied by co-innovation. The constant, nonconsensual observation of users has more to do with controlling users than learning from them.
That is, after all, the ethos of modern technology: the more control a company can exert over its users ,the more value it can transfer from those users to its shareholders. That's the key to enshittification, the ubiquitous platform decay that has degraded virtually all the technology we use, making it worse every day:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/19/twiddler/
When you are seeking to control users, the desire paths they create are all too frequently a means to wrestling control back from you. Take advertising: every time a service makes its ads more obnoxious and invasive, it creates an incentive for its users to search for "how do I install an ad-blocker":
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2019/07/adblocking-how-about-nah
More than half of all web-users have installed ad-blockers. It's the largest consumer boycott in human history:
https://doc.searls.com/2023/11/11/how-is-the-worlds-biggest-boycott-doing/
But zero app users have installed ad-blockers, because reverse-engineering an app requires that you bypass its encryption, triggering liability under Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This law provides for a $500,000 fine and a 5-year prison sentence for "circumvention" of access controls:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/01/12/youre-holding-it-wrong/#if-dishwashers-were-iphones
Beyond that, modifying an app creates liability under copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, noncompete, nondisclosure and so on. It's what Jay Freeman calls "felony contempt of business model":
https://locusmag.com/2020/09/cory-doctorow-ip/
This is why services are so horny to drive you to install their app rather using their websites: they are trying to get you to do something that, given your druthers, you would prefer not to do. They want to force you to exit through the gift shop, you want to carve a desire path straight to the parking lot. Apps let them mobilize the law to literally criminalize those desire paths.
An app is just a web-page wrapped in enough IP to make it a felony to block ads in it (or do anything else that wrestles value back from a company). Apps are web-pages where everything not forbidden is mandatory.
Seen in this light, an app is a way to wage war on desire paths, to abandon the cooperative model for co-innovation in favor of the adversarial model of user control and extraction.
Corporate apologists like to claim that the proliferation of apps proves that users like them. Neoliberal economists love the idea that business as usual represents a "revealed preference." This is an intellectually unserious tautology: "you do this, so you must like it":
https://boingboing.net/2024/01/22/hp-ceo-says-customers-are-a-bad-investment-unless-they-can-be-made-to-buy-companys-drm-ink-cartridges.html
Calling an action where no alternatives are permissible a "preference" or a "choice" is a cheap trick – especially when considered against the "preferences" that reveal themselves when a real choice is possible. Take commercial surveillance: when Apple gave Ios users a choice about being spied on – a one-click opt of of app-based surveillance – 96% of users choice no spying:
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/05/96-of-us-users-opt-out-of-app-tracking-in-ios-14-5-analytics-find/
But then Apple started spying on those very same users that had opted out of spying by Facebook and other Apple competitors:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/11/14/luxury-surveillance/#liar-liar
Neoclassical economists aren't just obsessed with revealed preferences – they also love to bandy about the idea of "moral hazard": economic arrangements that tempt people to be dishonest. This is typically applied to the public ("consumers" in the contemptuous parlance of econospeak). But apps are pure moral hazard – for corporations. The ability to prohibit desire paths – and literally imprison rivals who help your users thwart those prohibitions – is too tempting for companies to resist.
The fact that the majority of web users block ads reveals a strong preference for not being spied on ("users just want relevant ads" is such an obvious lie that doesn't merit any serious discussion):
https://www.iccl.ie/news/82-of-the-irish-public-wants-big-techs-toxic-algorithms-switched-off/
Giant companies attained their scale by learning from their users, not by thwarting them. The person using technology always knows something about what they need to do and how they want to do it that the designers can never anticipate. This is especially true of people who are unlike those designers – people who live on the other side of the world, or the other side of the economic divide, or whose bodies don't work the way that the designers' bodies do:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/10/20/benevolent-dictators/#felony-contempt-of-business-model
Apps – and other technologies that are locked down so their users can be locked in – are the height of technological arrogance. They embody a belief that users are to be told, not heard. If a user wants to do something that the designer didn't anticipate, that's the user's fault:
https://www.wired.com/2010/06/iphone-4-holding-it-wrong/
Corporate enthusiasm for prohibiting you from reconfiguring the tools you use to suit your needs is a declaration of the end of history. "Sure," John Deere execs say, "we once learned from farmers by observing how they modified their tractors. But today's farmers are so much stupider and we are so much smarter that we have nothing to learn from them anymore."
Spying on your users to control them is a poor substitute asking your users their permission to learn from them. Without technological self-determination, preferences can't be revealed. Without the right to seize the means of computation, the desire paths never emerge, leaving designers in the dark about what users really want.
Our policymakers swear loyalty to "innovation" but when corporations ask for the right to decide who can innovate and how, they fall all over themselves to create laws that let companies punish users for the crime of contempt of business-model.

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #11
March 22-29 2024
The Administration, with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in the lead responded to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Working with Governor Wes Moore and Mayor Brandon Scott (both Democrats) The Department of Transportation promises to clear the harbor and rebuild the bride. DoT has already released $60 million in emergency funds as a "down payment" and President Biden is expected to seek $1 billion from Congress.
Vice President Harris announced a number of actions and investments designed to improve the quality of life of the peoples of northern central America. driven by poverty, lack of economic opportunities, and out of control crime people in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras are taking great risks and trusting criminal human traffickers to try to reach the US. The Administration is working to improve conditions in the Northern Triangle so that is no longer necessary. Harris also announced $175 million dollars of direct aid from the US to Guatemala at a meeting with Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo.
The Department of Energy announced a $1.5 billion dollar loan to help restart the Palisades Nuclear Plant. This would mark the first time a nuclear power plant was brought back online after being decommissioned. The hope is keep the plant running till 2051, this 100% green power source is projected to prevent 111 million tons of CO2 emissions in its new life time, the same as taking 100,000 cars off the road. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer touted it as key for her state reaching its goal of 100% clean energy by 2040.
Vice President Harris launched a social media push to inform the public about the Biden-Harris Administration's SAVE Plan. The Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan was launched last year as part of President Biden's efforts to bring student loan forgiveness to millions of borrowers. Currently 7.7 million people are enrolled in SAVE, under which anyone making $16 a hour or less has a monthly payment of $0 on their student loans. 4.5 million SAVE enrollees are making $0 a month payments and another 1 million pay less than $100 a month on their loan repayment, over 150,000 people so far have had their loans totally forgiven. Republicans are suing to try to shut down the SAVE Plan
President Biden took keep steps to ensure quality healthcare this week. Biden extended the window for low-income Americans to apply for Obamacare. The original deadline of July 31st has been pushed back to November 30th. Biden also rolled back Trump era rules that allowed subsidies for "Junk Health insurance" These plans offer very little coverage and often mislead consumers into believing they have insurance when they aren't covered. These short term plans also don't have meet Obamacare standards and can refuse coverage for preexisting conditions.
The EPA announced new regulations aimed at "turbocharging" the number of electric trucks on the road. The new rules aim to have 25% of new long-haul trucks, the heaviest often diesel trucks on the road, and 40% of medium-size trucks (box trucks and landscaping vehicles) be nonpolluting by 2032, currently just 2% are. The regulation would apply to more than 100 types of vehicles including tractor-trailers, ambulances, R.V.s, garbage trucks and moving vans. The new tailpipe limits are expected to prevent about a billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2055.
the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services  announced that thanks to President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, 41 different drugs will coast those on Medicare Part B less money than it did last year.  An estimated 763,700 people on Medicare use at least one of these drugs every year. Some enrollees will save as much as $3,575 per dose.
The Department of Energy announced $6 billion for an effort to decarbonize energy-intensive industries. The investment in 33 projects across 20 states will eliminate 14 million metric tons of CO2 emissions each year when finished. Each project is meant to be highly replicable and serve as a blueprint for future private sector ventures.
President Biden signed an Executive Order to Strengthen the Recognition of Women’s History. The Order will launch a review of all historic sites run by the National Parks Service to determine ways to better highlight the role of women, from all backgrounds, in American History.
The Senate Confirmed President Biden's nominees, Ernesto Gonzalez, and Leon Schydlower to federal judgeships in Texas. This brings the total number of federal judges appointed by President Biden to 190.

Gas Station Stream of Consciousness Post
Gas Stations as Liminal Spaces
Tumblr media
I've had quite a few hyperfixations in my day - ATMs, laundry detergents, credit cards - so my current one pertaining to gas stations is fitting considering my affinity for liminal spaces and the dedication of this blog to them. Liminal spaces are transitory in nature, hence their portrayal in online circles through photos of carpeted hallways, illuminated stairwells, dark roads, and backrooms, among other transitional points.
Tumblr media
Gas stations are posted online as well; images of their fuel pumps or neon signage photographed through a rainy car window communicate their liminality and the universal experiences they provide to all of society. Perhaps they are the ultimate specimen of a liminal space. The machines they are created for, automobiles and tractor trailers alike, themselves are tools for motion, vestibules that enable travel and shipment across long distances at high speeds. Cars and roads are liminal spaces, albeit in different formats, and gas stations serve as their lighthouses. Vehicles at filling stations, therefore, are in a sense liminal spaces within liminal spaces within liminal spaces.
Tumblr media
The uniqueness of a gas station as a liminal space, however, is its intersection with the economics and aesthetics of capitalism. Gasoline (and diesel fuel) is a commodity, downstream from crude oil, merely differentiated by octane ratings. Some argue that minute distinctions between agents, detergents, and additives make some brands better than others. Indeed, fuels that are approved by the Top Tier program, sponsored by automakers, have been shown to improve engine cleanliness and performance, but this classification does not prefer specific refiners over others; it is simply a standard. To a consumer, Top Tier fuels are themselves still interchangeable commodities within the wider gasoline commodity market.
The Economics of Gas Stations
Tumblr media
The market that gas stations serve is characterized by inelastic demand, with customers who reckon with prices that fluctuate day in and day out. This is not to say that consumer behavior does not change with fuel prices. It has been observed that as prices rise, consumers are more eager to find the cheapest gas, but when prices fall, drivers are less selective with where they pump and are just happy to fill up at a lower price than last week. In response, gas stations lower their prices at a slower rate than when increasing prices, allowing for higher profit margins when wholesale prices fall. This has been dubbed the "rockets and feathers" phenomenon.
Tumblr media
When portrayed as liminal spaces, gas stations are most often depicted at night, places of solitude where one may also enter the adjacent convenience store and encounter a fellow individual who isn't asleep, the modern day lightkeeper. The mart that resides at the backcourt of a gas station is known to sell goods at higher prices than a supermarket, simultaneously taking advantage of a captive customer, convenient location, and making up for the inefficiencies of a smaller operation. It may come as no surprise, then, that gas stations barely make any money from fuel sales and earn their bulk through C-store sales. This is a gripe I have with our economic system. Business is gamified, and in many cases the trade of certain goods and services, called loss leaders, is not an independent operation and is subsidized by the success of another division of a business, a strategy inherently more feasible for larger companies that have greater scale to execute it.
Tumblr media
Nevertheless, most gas station owners, whether they have just one or hundreds of sites, find this method fruitful. Even though most gas stations in the US sell one of a handful of national brands, they operate on a branded reseller, or dealer, model, with oil companies themselves generally not taking part in the operations of stations that sell their fuels. The giants do still often have the most leverage and margin in the business, with the ability to set the wholesale price for the distributor, which sells at a markup to the station owner, which in turn will normally make the least profit in the chain when selling to the end customer at the pump. This kind of horizontal integration that involves many parties lacks the synergies and efficiencies of vertical integration that are so applauded by capitalists, but ends up being the most profitable for firms like ExxonMobil, who only extract and refine oil, and on the other end of the chain merely license their recognizable brands to the resellers through purchasing agreements. Furthermore, in recent years, independent dealers have sold their businesses to larger branded resellers, in many cases the ones from whom they had been buying their fuel.
A Word on ExxonMobil's Branding Potential
Tumblr media
The largest publicly traded oil company in the world is Exxon Mobil Corporation. It is a direct descendent of the Rockefeller monopoly, Standard Oil, which was broken up in 1911 into 34 companies, the largest of which was Jersey Standard, which became Exxon in 1973. This title was generated by a computer as the most appealing replacement name to be used nationwide to unify the Humble, Enco, and Esso brands, decades before AI was spoken of. The latter brand is still used outside of the United States for marketing, arising from the phonetic pronunciation of the initials of Standard Oil. In 1999, Exxon and Mobil merged, and the combined company to this day markets under separate brands. Exxon is more narrowly used, to brand fuel in the United States, while Mobil has remained a motor oil and industrial lubricant brand, as well as a fuel brand in multiple countries.
Tumblr media
Mobil originated in 1866 as the Vacuum Oil Company, which first used the current brand name for Mobiloil, and later Mobilgas and Mobilubricant products, with the prefix simply short for "automobile". Over time, Mobil became the corporation's primary identity, with its official name change to Mobil Oil Corporation taking place in 1966. Its updated wordmark with a signature red O was designed by the agency Chermayeff & Geismar, and the company's image for service stations was conceived by architect Eliot Noyes. New gas stations featured distinctive circular canopies over the pumps, and the company's recognizable pegasus logo was prominently on display for motorists.
Tumblr media
I take issue with the deyassification of the brand's image over time. As costs were cut and uniformity took over, rectangular canopies were constructed in place of the special ones designed by Noyes that resembled large mushrooms. The pegasus remained a prominent brand icon, but the Mobil wordmark took precedence, which I personally believe to be an error in judgement. This disregard for the pegasus paved the way for its complete erasure in 2016 with the introduction of ExxonMobil's "Synergy" brand for its fuel. The mythical creature is now much smaller and appears only at the top right corner of pumps at Mobil gas stations, if at all.
Tumblr media
Even into the 90s and the 21st century the Pegasus had its place in Mobil's marketing. In 1997, the company introduced its Speedpass keytag, which was revolutionary for its time and used RFID technology, akin to mobile payments today, to allow drivers to get gas without entering the store or swiping a card. When a Speedpass would be successfully processed, the pegasus on the gas pump would light up red.
Tumblr media
When Exxon and Mobil merged in 1999, the former adopted the payment method too, with Exxon's less iconic tiger in place of the pegasus.
Tumblr media
The program was discontinued in 2019 in favor of ExxonMobil's app, which is more secure since it processes payments through the internet rather than at the pump.
Tumblr media
What Shell has done with its brand identity is what Mobil should've done for itself. The European company's logo was designed in 1969 by Raymond Loewy, and is a worth contender for the "And Yet a Trace of the True Self Exists in the False Self" meme. In recent years, Shell went all in on its graphic, while Mobil's pegasus flew away. I choose to believe that the company chose to rebrand its stations in order to prevent the malfunction in the above image from happening.
Tumblr media
ExxonMobil should have also discontinued the use of the less storied Exxon brand altogether, and simplifying its consumer-facing identity to just the global Mobil mark. Whatever, neither of the names are actual words. As a bonus, here is a Google map I put together of all 62 gas stations in Springfield, MA. This is my idea of fun. Thanks for reading to the end!

A woman that Wonder plays an online game with, codename Bui, who uses the name “YUI” in their game. Her real name is eventually revealed in her Confidant to be Musubi Matsukata. She joins the team as a “Phantom Idol”, or cognitive teammate.
Her Japanese voice actress is Chika Anzai.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YUI is a Confidant of Wonder's, though exactly what the earliest point it becomes available at is unclear, as she was added in a later update. Her Confidant focuses on the video game she and Wonder play together, which seems to be an open-world MMO, and the farm they create in it together. She seems to have trouble connecting with people, but becomes close with Wonder. YUI also had a special animated promo video focused on her.
Wonder eventually meets her in the real world, and they go to Boom Bang Burger together. While Musubi at first worries that maybe this is weird, because he's a high schooler and she's an adult, and he probably wasn't expecting that (and she wasn't either), Wonder doesn't seem to mind hanging out with her. They get the biggest burger on the menu to split, and after they eat, Musubi mentions she's an employee at an IT firm in Shibuya. Her parents have a farm that's an hour away from the nearest train station, so her options were either becoming a farmer too, or moving to the city to work. She chose the latter, because she hates bugs, but she misses farming sometimes.
Her Confidant rewards speed up the growth rate of Wonder's garden plants in the real world, and eventually give him a chance to get seeds back upon harvesting them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YUI is somewhat airheaded and excitable, but is extremely familiar with the game world. When Wonder first meets her, she offers him basically whatever amount of in-game money he wants for the free land he got as part of a new player promotion. Instead, he suggests they try sharing the land, and turn it into farmland, which YUI becomes very excited about.
Her overenthusiasm can be a bit overwhelming, especially when working with her. She gets a gigantic tanklike tractor for them to use to prepare the field, nearly loses control of the powerful water hose she uses to water their plants, and fires fertilizer at the plants as if launching a cannon. In the market area, Wonder encounters another person who says he used to know YUI, but her over-the-top behavior and ditzy personality pushed him away. YUI later acknowledges this happens to her sometimes when she interacts with people, and it seems to bother her, though she tries not to let that on too much.
YUI's also very distraught when their in-game fields are destroyed by pests, and doesn't log into the game for quite a while, leaving Wonder to tend the fields and drive off the pests himself. Her reactions heavily suggest she blames herself when something goes wrong, and doesn't deal well with problems that (at least at first glance) feel insurmountable. Her avoidance likely also ties into her impulsiveness- unsure what to do, she almost immediately decides to leave, without taking any time to consider alternatives. However, when she comes back and sees all of Wonder's hard work, she finds a new determination, suggesting she'll try to be better about this in the future.
For these reasons, she seems to really appreciate the protagonist sticking by her. He doesn't seem to have an in-game name, and doesn't want to give her his real name at first, so she calls him "Baron", and shares her troubles with him sometimes. She also seems to enjoy his willingness to try things in the game world, including indulging her farming excitement, and eventually asks if he'll meet "a friend of hers" at the Boom Bang Burger in Shibuya. Both YUI in-game and Musubi in the real world are insistent that they're not the same person, and refer to each other separately.
In the real world, Musubi is much more reserved and quiet, and generally seems tired. She mentions she often is too busy at work to eat dinner. She confirms that she doesn't have many friends ("and neither does YUI"), and that "YUI" really enjoys spending time with Wonder in the game. She seems to be a particular fan of potatoes, especially fries.
Tumblr media
Bui's Persona Apseudes (based on one of the sea-nymph Nereids, with her name meaning ‘she who never lies’) is categorized as an Electric type, and resists Electric while being weak to Ice.
Apseudes is a Resist Persona, meaning she’s good at targeting single enemies, and her trait gives her a chance to follow up a teammate, after they do damage, with an electric attack that increases the damage of the next electric attack to hit the target. Her first electric attack skill hits one enemy and has a chance to shock them (if they're shocked already, the attack's damage is increased), her second electric attack skill hits all enemies and does extra damage to one of them, and her support skill buffs Bui's attack, and selects a teammate to be her "playmate". The next time her playmate uses a Persona attack skill, Bui automatically follows up, then increases the damage of her next two follow ups. Her passive skills cause her follow up attacks to do more damage to shocked enemies, and buff both Bui and her playmate's critical rate whenever she has a playmate.
In combat, her melee weapon is wind and fire wheels (or possibly chakrams), while her ranged weapon appears to be some kind of laser blaster. Her Highlight is shown from 1:42 - 1:51 in this video, and it buffs Bui's attack and specifically her follow up, and guarantees she'll follow up any Persona skill attacks for one round.
Her recommended card sets are 1) 4 of Wands (Change) + Page of Coins (Growth), 2) 4 of Coins (Power) + Page of Coins (Growth).
The game recommends teaming her up with 1) Closer and Riddle, 2) Moko.

"#obsessed with the way this race was basically his 100 races at ferrari in a nutshell #botched strategy? check. unfavourable team orders? check. a technical infringement post-race dsq? absolutely"
Agree 100%. Though you forgot the first part - charles does his part and puts a tractor on pole only to be let down by everyone else on the team
You're so right! And then proceeds to be mocked online for qualifying on pole, which???? I don't think it happens to any other driver to this degree. Seems like for everyone else there's this grace and justification that oh, well, if they don't win from pole/2nd it's understandable because obviously Red Bull have the fastest car. But then Charles doesn't win from pole and suddenly it's a skill issue 🤨
Charles really does his part, that's the worst thing about it. All the way back in 2019 he identified that tyre management in the race was one of his weaknesses, and that he tended to lose out to then-teammate Seb because of it, so over the next few months and even years he worked on improving that aspect of his driving, and now he's arguably one of the best at tyre management. But even that is a disadvantage for him because Ferrari expects him to make an insane one-stopper work when, all the other drivers/teams who initially considered it, later course-corrected. Come to think of it, getting left out on old, worn tyres and being expected to defend is also a Charles-At-Ferrari staple 😑

So someone posted a Murderbot/Batfam crossover and my brain just . . . went to work. Of course Bruce Wayne is from the Corporate Rim. Of course Bruce is human. But his boys. . .
Before the escape pod was towed into his bay, Bruce already knew that it contained a single ComfortUnit from his ping. That one, alone, escaped the station currently burning up in atmosphere was a mystery. Haleys was known for their work with specialized programming for constructs; why a ComfortUnit? Why this one?
What he did not expect on opening the pod doors was a tiny form curled into a ball in the safety netting. Bruce tapped the feed to be sure they were online, and a tear-stained face turned up to look at him. Dark hair, skin washed pale in the bay lights, eyes reflecting bluer than blue. Bruce asked carefully, “Is there anyone else with you?”
“Just me.”
That was the ComfortUnit.
Bruce stood frozen, staring as the child rubbed their face, attempting to straighten up. Belatedly, Bruce extended his hand to help them climb out of the netting, registering the feel of flesh and thin too light limbs. The construct awkwardly clambered out of the pod and came to rest on the deck in front of him. “Were there. . . were there any other life pods?”
“I’m afraid not.”
The ComfortUnit looked up at him, then back to the singed plating of the life pod. If they had ejected a second later, they would likely have been caught in the gravity well before Bruce could catch them with his tractor beam. If others had tried. . . there would be nothing left after the atmosphere burnt it away.
Abruptly, the ComfortUnit pinged hard across the feed, sending a string of numbers, he/him designation, the hard IP again, and a deep, desperate helplessness. HubSys, SecSys, and the shipbot all pinged back, a chorus from all over the ship greeting the child. But not the response that he wanted. Bruce could see the boy’s face fall.
“They- they got me out. Before they fell, too.” The boy’s face was haunted, one hand clenching tight while the other rested on the pod’s surface. At least enough of the pod was functioning on emergency protocols to indicate to the governor module that they were still on company property.
If Bruce didn’t know otherwise, he would think he was facing an eight or nine year old child. It absolutely turned his stomach. Someone had – someone had designed him this way. He could all too easily see the marketing. In theory it would spare “real” children, allow predators a “safe” outlet, but in reality. . . they made this person to be a target, to be locked into a life of cruelty and exploitation.
In the Corporate Rim, anything was for sale. Anything.
It didn’t matter that it was a construct who could be mentally older than himself; Bruce still found himself using a more gentle voice than he would with interrogating an adult. “Who were they?”
“Mary and John.” At his nod, the boy elaborated, “They were older models with a lot of experience, and they were helping me integrate new modules. Giving me context so things made sense.”
Two older ComfortUnits. Designated male and female. To . . . to train this one. So he was relatively young after all. Bruce couldn’t tell if that made this entire situation better or worse. He could not condone dropping the lab facility into the atmosphere, burning up the human researchers and killing countless conspirators to hide the dirty laundry, but he also could absolutely not condone this.
“Do you-- how long have you been operating?”
“Just about 5,000 hours.” The boy rocked back on his feet, swinging his hands alarmingly like a restless child. “I’ve been getting really bored with the analysis tests in the lab. They said I hadn’t passed enough to go to human trials yet.”
Bruce didn’t allow the intense relief he felt to pass his face, but from the way the boy’s eyes flickered, he’d caught some micro-expression anyway. Some days he wished his face was part of what had been replaced. With alarming forthrightness, the boy declared, “You don’t agree with my function.”
He most certainly did not miss having organic knees as he held the low crouch to be on eye-level, “You’re a child. You should be allowed to be a child.”
The boy frowned, his face admirably expressive with his bright blue eyes. “That concept only applies to humans.”
Bruce flicked one arm, displaying the grappling gun held within the left forearm. “My body is comprised of only 34% organic matter. There is arguably more humanity in you than there is in me.”
“Oh.” The boy dipped forward to look at it more closely, and Bruce obligingly held still. “That is so cool.”
“They’re augments. I didn’t choose to have the accident, to lose my limbs, to lose my parents, but I did choose how to react to it.” Bruce rotated his arm slowly so the grappling gun was stowed away, back beneath the synth-flesh coverings. “That’s what I would like to do for you. Give you a choice.”
Stubborn blue eyes locked on to his. There was skepticism in there, and a very fast-working mind. “So you’ll be my new client.”
“No. I’ll be your guardian.” Absolutely not entertaining that line of thought, though surely if any tabloids found out he was keeping a ComfortUnit, they’d be all over it. It would be easy enough to present the boy as an augmented human: they were more organic than he was. The press would buy that he'd find a child in the same kind of catastrophic situation and sympathise. “And you can decide for yourself what your function is, if you want to change.”
“Change?”
“Grow.”
That startled the boy, his eyes going wide. “You mean I could grow up?”
“I was about your size when I first received augments. I think I can make it work.” He stood up at last, obviously to his adult height, and let the boy digest that for a moment. “So, what do you think?”
“Yes!”
----
“What should I call you?”
“Uh. The researchers called me Little Dick.”
“NO.”
(And in that moment Bruce aged ten years.)

How To Get Highest Benefit For Damaged Cars: Cash For Car In Brisbane
Having a car that is in a bad way can be quite a heel. It uses your property in a worthless way, it does not appreciate, and finding a buyer willing to accept one that has been wrecked is almost impossible. Getting enough cash for cars in Brisbane might make it very difficult to find the right one.
This means that many Brisbane car owners do not have the luxury of trading their second-hand cars or selling them privately. All of which begs the question, how does one sell a wrecked vehicle without losing money and still make some?
Picture this: Your vehicle was involved in a collision and the restoration expenses are well above your reach. It's obvious to you daily, as it occupies your driveway and emits an obnoxious amount of lost value from the wasted space.

Made a thing and decided maybe it's decent enough to post. Links to refs, the blank, and rambles under the cut.
Flora: Flos adonis. "Painful recollections" in flower language according to Catharine Harbeson Waterman's Flora's Lexicon (1840).
Fauna: Flying fish. I use these as symbols for Wotrens in general, but Tsuname in particular has a scene where he glides over the ocean and enjoys a moment of freedom, so I think he best exemplifies the whimsy that is the flying fish.
Object: Marble. In hindsight though I should have picked suncatcher, that would have been a lot more symbolic, especially considering I have an old picture of him trying to catch the last rays of the sun. Well, marble will do in a pinch I guess. My thinking was a silly pun involving losing his marbles, also it being a lone marble to imply "where did the others go?" Also chose a clear one as part of the symbolism too. I went through a number of objects for him before settling on marble. Originally I was going to do "window" but couldn't find a ref I liked for it. Then I thought of "tide pool" but that's more a place than an object. Then I thought maybe one of those epoxy resin arts, but there's something really artistic and delicate about those that felt a little bit off to represent Tsuname. But yeah. He's transparent but also shallow some ways. So that's why it has to be a marble or something not that deep. Shallow in the sense that you don't have to reach very far to see what's going on inside. That's why I was thinking glass at first. Window because you can easily peer inside and see what's going on. Tide pool for a similar reason. It's not that deep, you can scoop up some crustacean crawling around in there and look at it. Also sea-theming is very important for him.
You know what I just remembered... 'bracelet' is an object that has more significance in-story. I guess it less represents him though and more his devotion to Sh'zkai...
Song: The Name of Anger by Rurutia. I also could have picked Meltdown by Lollia, but decided they both exemplify Tsuname in different ways, so I didn't need to swap it out. For the one I chose though, it's chock full of symbolism that I think really fits Tsuname well. I think of it typically in the broader context of the invasion he experienced, so in some ways, Meltdown feels a bit more personal than The Name of Anger does for Tsuname. Meltdown I associate more with his ongoing mental battle, whereas The Name of Anger deals far more with the past and how it contextualizes the present. The opening line translates to something like "The ladder of light collapses." This 'ladder of light' I think of representative of hope, but also with like a tractor beam. The light is 'collapsing' which means the beam is disappearing, and with it, any hope of getting back those that were taken by it. "Innocent live sink to the mud." . . . "Overflowing from the ark are the tears of lost children." That last one I associate with the Gaediens who were taken. "My hands transform into swords; my ventless anger continues to spiral" Feels like a fast-forward to present day Tsuname, who has become a weapon against his will and his hands are now swords, and his pent up anger from the horrors he endured spills out everywhere. Lastly I love the picture painted by this line: "The jet-black sea winds whirlpools." There's not many good translations of the song online but you can find the original lyrics here: (x) I am for sure taking some creative liberties in my associations but XD that's the rub.
Feeling: Kuebiko. I abridged the definition quite a bit on the picture to get the text to play nice.
And yes, I did ref the Ocarina of Time scarecrow because it was simpler to draw than trying to figure out how to abstract a proper photo of a scarecrow. XD;
There's a lot of interesting gems in the etymology of kuebiko as well that fit Tsuname:
Kuebiko comes from kueru (崩える), an archaic verb meaning "to break down; to become shabby and disordered", plus hiko (彦), an old epithet for "boy, young man", in turn from hi ko (日子), literally "sun child".[1][2][3] The meaning could be translated as something like "shabby young man".
Yamada no sohodo is formed like an old-fashioned formal name, from surname or literal noun Yamada (山田, lit. 'mountain + paddy'), genitive or possessive particle no (の), and sohodo (案山子),[4] in turn from soho ("sopping wet") + -do, a contraction from -bito, the compounding form of hito (人).[5] The meaning of this name could be construed as "soaked person of the mountain paddies", a euphemism for "scarecrow".
As for the kami aspect of the etymology, at first I thought he had nothing to do with folk wisdom, knowledge and agriculture, but if you think on it, maybe a little. For one thing, when he returns to the island he has a lot of knowledge of how things work out in space that no one else has, so in one sense he is sort of this oddity. Folk wisdom could be turned on its head because his devotion to what he grew up believing is a big part of his character, but he lacked the proper nuance about the belief, so this "folk wisdom" doesn't exactly pan out when he doesn't understand how it applies to the real world (or doesn't). Agriculture was the one that I thought... no, not at all, but thinking on like... the connotations of agriculture, like "living on the land" -> "devotion to the land" -> "devotion to one's home and native land" could be something.
But anyways, the TDoOS definition definitely pulls more from the latter half of that opening sentence from the wiki:
"Kuebiko (久延毘古) is ... represented in Japanese mythology as a scarecrow who cannot walk but has comprehensive awareness."
Going back to the literal meaning, "shabby boy/sun child" really fits Tsuname well. Broken down, made shabby and disordered by his past. I often associate Tsuname with the sun in a lot of ways too. His original sunny disposition, overshadowed now by the horizon, making "sunset" another potent symbol for Tsuname's present psyche.
The second name for Kuebiko in Yamada no sohodo I also thought was kind of interesting, since being a fish boy he often does drag himself out of the ocean sopping wet, but also the connotation of sopping wet with "pathetic" feels of portent. XD
Hmm. Knowing what I know now it feels kinda weird to associate him with this word, but, I guess TDoOS is useful for describing feelings!
Anyways here's the link to the blank: (x)
Thank you if you've read this far. XD

Given it was a weekday, what were the crowds like in Angelsea? Swansea looked rammed.
Much is being made of a 35.000 strong petition against a new POW despite 3mill Welsh population.
For Anglesey? Large. There's just under 70k people on the island and I was very impressed at the turnout. I got stuck in traffic on the way home and that NEVER happens unless said traffic is a tractor 😂
Honestly, pay it no mind. There are those who wish to discredit the Monarchy just like in every other UK/Commonwealth nation. Far more people are in favour than not (I believe it was 66% pro-PPoW for W&C?) Labour and Plaid Cymru (the Welsh SNP) are always bleating on about something or another, but we pay them no mind for the most part.
I felt that crowd today. There were cheers, claps, hoorays... that love and excitement will always be more than a daft online petition.

The best part about the diamond casino heist in gta online is when you get separated from your crew during the escape, and then later get to wonder what the fuck happened to the guy who left in a stolen cop car, but then arrived at the meet up point in a tractor with all the windows shot out
