update on my tic disorder diagnosis process:

i went to see the neurologist. she said it's not tourettes and that's it. im still not diagnosed with a specific disorder. all i did was my fist to chin tic the entire appointment.

she said i could upload a video of me ticking to the patent portal so i am going to on Wednesday. I'm going to try to hold in my tics while speaking about how it all started and all my different types of tics. I feel like if I try to hold it in it is certain that I will tic considering I'm not the best at doing it. I mean I am, in public, but I usually just defer to a less noticeable tic or wiggle my toes.

I will make sure to let u guys know what happens when it comes to the diagnosis!

Updated Intro

I’m still keeping the old one up because the boundaries/opinions still fits but identity and other stuff like that has changed.

We are The Tellers. We are a DID system. We have many alterhuman and queer alters. As well as IRLs and those who agere/petre. We also have objectum altera. We are neurodivergent in many ways. We like art, and are in multiple dif fandoms at any given time.

We might tag whoever is talking, but if it isn’t important most of the time it’ll be left blank.

One of the reassuring things about binge watching ADHD vids, is that it is my entire being explained, all my quirks and faults are that of someone who doesn't treat it properly.

Okay so there's a reason for being much of a mess.

🪓 — Canon Facts About Ticci Toby

all of these are directly stated by kastoway himself in deviantart posts/comments, instagram stories, or tobys canon story

I. Toby has a split eyebrow from the car crash

II. He only attended grade school for a short time when we was 12 before being homeschooled due to bullying

III. Kastoway describes Toby's eye colour as "dark brown/black"

IV. Kastoway created Toby as a fan character when he was 12 just for fun. He never expected him to get the attention that he did

V. Toby was stated to be 19 in 2013, which means Toby was born on April 28th, 1994. Today he'll be turning 30 years old

VI. In Toby's age chart, he is shown to be in a straitjacket at 30 years old, and described to "not have much time left on his plate", "any bit of sanity in him is probably gone", and "lives out the rest of his days in a mental asylum and/or gets put down"

VII. He has little to no memory of his life before becoming a proxy

VIII. When he was a toddler, he'd carry around a cow stuffie and put bandaids all over it

IX. Toby was killed by Clockwork, who was possessed by Zalgo, sometime between ages 19-25 (presumably 20-22). Kastoway had vague plans for Toby to "miraculously survive" and live up until around 30 years old, with no contact to the others

X. Toby chews his hands to the point of eating his own flesh, which is why he wears gloves

XI. He is born and raised in Denver, Colorado, USA. He has German ancestry

XII. His theme song is noted to be "I'm Not Alright" by Shinedown

XIII. His personality is described to be, "volatile, friendly at times, sarcastic at times, natural born trouble-maker, mostly up-beat"

XIV. In an older, outdated reference sheet, his friends are listed as "Jeff The Killer, BEN, BOB, Smile Dog, Slenderman, Splendorman, Mr. Widemouth, Ragface, Eyeless Jack", and his rivals are listed as "The Rake, Masky, Enderman, Zalgo"

XV. His mask is a mouth guard, like the one Hannibal Lecter wears

XVI. He is canonically shipped with Clockwork

XVII. Toby has "big ass eyebrows" (Kastoways words himself)

XVIII. Toby doesn't hate Masky, he just acts like an annoying little brother around him because he's jealous that Slender favours him. He's chill around Hoodie, but they don't talk much

XIX. Kastoway was inspired by Marble Hornets to create Ticci Toby

XX. Toby's tics are described as to "uncontrollably crack his neck, twitch around, bend over backwards"

XXI. In his updated appearance (the sketch made by Kastoway in 2014 with the cheek gash), he's described to be in his early 20s. He also said he was thinking of having the cheek gash be caused by the fire, but said that Toby eating through his own cheek was "a really good idea"

XXII. Toby was originally going to be a cannibal before Kastoway put the idea on the back burner, though he says "he'll eat some of the things he kills kind of like Eyeless Jack"

XXIII. He had CIPA, Tourettes, Schizophrenia and PTSD after the car crash

XXIV. His older sisters name is Lyra, his mothers name is Connie, and his father is canonically unnamed (though he's typically called Frank by the fandom, this is not stated by Kastoway)

XXV. He was originally going to be 5'4....... But ended up being made 5'6 (lucky bastard)

May 15th- June 15th is Tourettes Awareness Month!

I want to try to do something for at least every other day to talk about Tourettes and my experience with it.

⚠️please be aware that each person's experience is different and I can only talk about my own personal experiences⚠️

For today I'm just going to talk about vocabulary, both medical and colloquially.

Gillies de la Tourette's Syndrome- also called Tourettes Syndrome, Tourette disorder, Tourette's disease, or TS- is a tic disorder characterized by the presence of both motor and vocal tics that last a year or longer and are onset before the age of 18.

Tic- which I occasionally call a glitch- is an involuntary sound or movement. They can be motor based (shrugging, head jerks, blinking, ect) or vocal (humming, saying words or phrases, clearing the throat). They can also vary in complexity, for example saying one word vs saying a full phrase.

Prompt- idk how widely used this one is but I personally use it so including it here- is the feeling you might get before a tic. My common tics have different prompt feelings so I can sometimes know what's coming. I don't always get a prompt, and they don't mean I can change what is about to happen, it's just kind of a warning.

Coprolalia- the involuntary use of obscene language. If you only know Tourettes from popular media, this is likely what you know it for. In reality this only affects about 10% of people with Tourette's, though I have seen estimates that go up to 30%.

Echolalia- involuntary repetition of words or phrases spoken by others. I also count mimicking noises under this but there may be a word for that I'm not aware of.

Copropraxia- involuntary obscene gestures

Echopraxia- involuntary repetition/mimicking of movements.

Tic attack- a sudden severe outburst of tics.

That's all I can think of at this moment but I'll try to update if I think of anymore. My asks are open if anyone has questions I will be happy to answer to the best of my ability 😊

Trigger- sets off a tic. Not all tics have triggers but several of mine do, and some of them are very odd, I'll probably talk about my strange triggers tomorrow lol.

You are hateful to minorities and marginalised groups [antisemitic, homophobic/transphobic, TERFs/SWERFs, fatphobic, zionist, racist, intersexist and transmeds]

You are [pro/neutral] endogenic or non-traumagenic "systems" or you appropriate closed practices

Pro/neu contact [harmful] paraphile, as well as stigmatising paraphilias [If you claim to be a mental health advocate, do the bare minimum research and educate yourself]

Radqueer or transid/transx

You are anti contradictory labels and refuse to understand the blatant intersexism and inherent transphobia in that stance

Perisex/dyadic but think you can use intergender, or transition to be intersex [same goes for those who identify with altersex and think that makes you not perisex and that you can use intersexist slurs, etc]

You believe in cluster B abuse or stigmatise mental illnesses in general

You do not believe survivors of RAMCOA, OEA, TBMC, Programming [etc]

You block evade

We are physically and cognitively disabled- we use mobility aids, as well as speech aids. Because of these disabilities we lose the ability to communicate coherently and advocate for ourself frequently

We block you if you post about and interact with our triggers frequently

Minors can interact, but please be aware that we are bodily 18- despite "mentally" presenting much younger. You also do need to be understanding that because you're a minor you do not have the same maturity [despite our maturity being stunted by trauma, we still have more life experience]
